This Hospital is classified in the category of General hospital.
Too much to say and not enough room. "Just awful."
very professional, they provide your mask outside before entry, explain the procedure, make sure you're comfortable. everyone was kind and friendly and all went better than expected. thank you everyone at LGH
They do their best to help you and make you healthy.
This is by far the worst hospital. If you value your health, your dignity, and your time, do not go to LGH. Not all of the staff members are awful, but when you are treated by the staff that are, you feel humiliated and are made to feel small for seeking medical attention. I have never felt less human.
Surly, one of the best public hospitals, I have visited. My 5 stars to all the staff and volunteers and doctors. I am very satisfied and know that this hospital does provide a quality care. Thanks LGH, keep it up.

I've spent years of my life as a visitor in different hospitals, so I'm quite familiar with them. I'm very impressed with Lions Gate. Dr. Smith and everyone I encountered from admitting to everyone in the day care unit were amazing. I was dreading my procedure and they really made a positive difference on my experience.
Little dated but all the staff are very friendly and helpful.
Had a visit to emergency today. The ambient was so negative. Staff all looked angry and frustrated. Cut me off when asking simple questions and when discharging my son, refused to elaborate on their findings. They told me they had “all” lab results when I still had his urine sample in my hand. The nurse was so angry she cut me off (again) to tell me that would would not make a difference (why did they order it then?). She was determined to get our case “resolved”. The doctor gave similar medications to what I had already tried, dismissing what we had done already. They don’t listen. Very negative and extremely ineficiente, aggravated by their extreme frustrated attitude. I hope to see better days for this hospital. I don’t wish anyone a day at emergency. I understand these are hard times, you don’t have to take your frustrations on us, the patients.

Great experience, I came in to the ER for a mountain bike injury and was treated efficiently and professionally by all the staff!
Parking is a complete mess, but hospital is always clean and friendly. I have been doing two non stress fetal monitoring a week due to a high risk pregnancy so have been here often the last month. While I mostly interact with labor and delivery everyone else from the receptionist to nurses and catering staff are compassionate and kind.
For the October 18 2018 Instead of giving you a star I would be very much glad of giving a negative Vote. I would be glad to bring you into the tribunal since it has been impossible due to the huge amount of money you are trafficking with and the ability to corrupt and being corrupted. I’m going to give you a 0,00 nothing. And huge blame to the people involved in any title to this incredible scandal involved the nursery. Silvestro Alcuri
the services aren't bad. the triage area doesn't work very well, there are some nurses who aren't very nice. when i see them , i ask myself: don't they like their job? if yes, and they don't like their job, they should quit, not transfer their unsatisfactions. to patients. if they like their job, why they are so serious and never smile. you can't or not allowed to ask or repeat a question, otherwise you will face with their anger that will result in more waiting or delayed treatment. based my experience, except ER, wards and departments are great.
Terrible I was in so much pain and the nurses were taking there sweet time and making my jokes
After getting into a ski accident I had to wait hours in the E.R. before seeing a doctor...
I went to Lions Gate Hospital for surgery, everyone from admitting, to surgery check in , to nurses and doctors , recovery nurses and all other staff made me feel comfortable and safe. I wouldn’t hesitate at getting more medical care at this Hospital . Thank you everyone for your compassion and care.
I went to Lionsgate after having a severe flare up of hives and angiodema (lip swelling). I was panicked and waited 5 hours before seeing a doctor. When I finally saw one he just gave me a hard time and told me I had to take prednisone 50mg for 6 days without a taper and it would cure me.. No blood tests or anything. I didn't know that it was such a strong drug and usually only given for powerful autoimmune disorders NOT a flare up of hives that went away after a while. I took it because I wasn't aware of the side effects and 3 days in I was back in the ER because of the intense effects. Vertigo, racing heart, shortness of breath, joint pain. I can barely leave the house and it's been over a week since I've taken it. So careless of that doctor to prescribe me something so heavy without doing a single test or making me aware of any side effects!! I'm so exhausted and angry with him.
I took my daughter to get help here. There was other kids, same age, with same issue, and they all got help. The doctor came and spoke to them( I witnessed it)After few hours of waiting, I was send home without any help from a doctor for my daughter. The nurse talked down on me in the waiting area in front of everyone including my daughter. Other people before us didn't have an accent, so they got the help they needed and kept their integrity.
Amazing people , really honest and polite .They simply try their best to provide you with the best possible service .I read reviews were people complained about the time that you have to wait in emergency till a doctor sees you but now i understand its because if your injury is not that bad or important they will try to fix people that are worse than yours first , people need understand its not that they want or like to keep you waiting its just that there are some people in emergency unit that need more help .Anyways we were there because my brother broke his wrist and dislocated it and they helped us a lot and did their best and actually fixed his wrist and popped it back in place in the same day .Later we got a call from the accounting department of the hospital , she told us that we paid more than what we should've been charged and they actually gave us a refund for that .I just want to thank the staff and everyone there ,You guys are no different than a hero
The staff here work extremely hard and still maintain a friendly and professional attitude. It has it's busy times and bad days like all hospitals, but I consider Lions Gate one of the finest hospitals I've visited; and I have nothing but respect and admiration for the men and women who make it so.
I have only ever experienced rude attitude from all the staff during my visits.
Went here after getting hit in the face with a softball. Wait wasn't bad. Staff seemed nice but very disorganized. Left me in the hallway for ages waiting for a porter after a CT as I did not know how to get back to my room. Could not sleep through the night as the nurses were having a birthday party for a staff member at 2am. They referred my follow up to a doctor who was on vacation for 3 weeks and when I asked them if they had someone else they said "No" and left me hanging forcing me to see my family doctor and go to spend 6 hours at VGH to get a different referral. Tried to fill my prescription for the pain meds I was given but the Dr changed the date on it and never signed it so they would not fill it without making us wait and call the hospital. Horrible. Definitely would not go back if I had an emergency.
Although you will wait a good half day to be seen by a doctor, the consultation is very good and thorough. The nurses and technicians are kind and sympathetic. Here you get the impression that the health professionals care about you and actually do their job with a passion to care for another.
I’m here right now, everyone has been super lovely!
I give birth at lions gate hospital
I went last week for an ear infection. Needless to say that the service was great, fast and professional. Excellent staff. Special thanks to the Doctor who attended me Dr. Lisa Lange. I hade gone to emergency probably twice in my life and this experience was pretty good, even thought I was filled with pain.
I cannot emphasize enough how impressed I am with the way I was treated during my recent stay at Lionsgate Hospital. From the front door security to the Incredibly patient nurses and various staff and to the very kind and professional Dr. Brar. My most sincere gratitude to you all for your kindness and patience, William Western
Very great staff
We just had a baby on April 28, 2019 at Lions Gate Hospital . Filipino nurse Judy was extremely rude and unprofessional. I had my 2 kids with me in private room (27 months and 17months old infants). Filipino Nurse told me kids that young can’t stay cuz other ppl would complain if they make noise, I advised her kids are super quite and I will make sure they are quite to which she sarcastically replied this is not a day care. I had explained my situation to two nurses earlier who were fine with me having my two babies in room. I have no family or friends to take care of my babies and I had to be with my wife and newborn as per doctor to help. My wife wasn’t serve dinner and when I inquired, Filipino nurse Judy said as far as she knows my wife has been served dinner and she can’t do anything if she hasn’t been served and if we have any complaints we should contact hospital administration tomorrow as it Sunday and office is closed. I would never recommend this hospital. There were a lot of other issues with the care we were provided which would be discussed with legal experts to pursue any legal action against the hospital.
The High-end Sign Built By EEC Industries.
It’s a great hospital. The people rating it 1 star are just thinking about themselves. If you are able to come back the next day for emergency care you aren’t as important as the various of other people that need immediate help. The hospital is overworked and full like every other hospital that is taking care of covid patients right now.
I underwent a colonoscopy and I would like to commend the nursing staff working that Department in the very early hours of July 21, 2017, in particular Lara, C(K)athy and Sherry (Shelly). They were super friendly, effective and professional, so thank you all again. PK
lots of unfriendly nurses
Best thing about hospitals is leaving
2 weeks ago I went to Lions Gate Hospital with the following symptoms: coughing a lot and with a lot of phlegm in the lung (sometimes coming with blood.) I stayed there for almost 6 hours to only make an X-ray. The doctor told me that it was nothing and sent me back home with NO PRESCRIPTIONS. 2 days later my health situation was terrible and I decided to visit an walking clinic. The doctor prescribed me antibiotics and now I'm having my health back. Terrible service!
I was impressed with the dietitian let down by the food service's attempt to meet the recommendations made by the dietitian at times the doctors and nurses worked well with us to help us on our way with our new baby. I wrote a previous review while angry after my partner Recieved a meal that was supposed o be high protien and It was lacking.

I was in Lions Gate Hospital again recently. In spite of incredible stress my spinal vertabrea surgery was performed in an already overbooked hospital .Anytime I interacted with staff they were with and for me. Long days , high stress and great people
Caring compassionate people here. They're amazing.
I stayed on the 6th floor North wing for a week. The biggest issue was the conflicting information I was given about my health and the total lack of information even after it was recorded. Most staff were very unhappy and showed it by not wanting to do their jobs. The showers and floors were not cleaned all week even after being deficated on a nurse just used my towel to wipe it up and one of the nurses was complaining and acting out about the issue on the floor. At no time was I treated like a patient in dire straights, it was all about them! No care or concern whatsoever. The shower grew over the week with black hair and people's dirty underwear and gowns on the floor. Never to be cleaned. When I complained they put a purple plack on my door to indicate that I was a difficult patient. One nice nurse told me that's what they do if you complain. The most scary nurse is a tall blonde who wears her hair in a high pony tail like that scary broad in Wentworth prison movie, she also wears a vest and she is downright mean and nasty and she lets you know as soon as she starts her shift that she is the boss and you better not make her mad or bother her unecessarily. Are good nurses so hard to find or is the union running our hospital? I'm told by others that it's only that wing that is so horrible . With North Van being the most expensive place to live in Canada you would expect we would have the best health care but 6th floor North wing was like a third world country. It was the worst experience of my life and I'm afraid of having to go back there. I checked myself out opting to wait for surgery at home and even checking out I had to make the lazy nurse go back to the desk to retrieve critical information I needed including, CT date, surgeon name and prescriptions. She actually argued with me that there was no surgeon because she didn't want to walk back! This same nurse argued that the red vomit wasn't blood and I hadn't had good in a week! I understood later that it is mandatory to record vommitted blood and so I can only guess she just didn't want to do her job and record it. It was easier to just blow me off and say it's not blood. Clearly it was proven to be blood when after numerous times of forcing her to do her job an emergency scope had to be done. I had a rip in my aspgophgous from all the vomitting and got conflicting stories about the severity of that as well.
This hospital and staff are DANGEROUS. I’m disgusted. I wish I had time to write everything out but I just don’t and they wouldn’t care anyway. Run if you can.

Fixed up my broken wrist very well. Even gave me a sick note for work!
I usually love Lionsgate Hospital however tonight we had a bad experience. John the psychiatric nurse was on his phone texting and kept cracking his neck. He slouched in his chair and asked insensitive questions. Then we got Dr P Lin. How is this man a Dr. I googled him afterward and was horrified. He basically denied that my family member had a previously diagnosed condition but changed his mind during the visit. He encouraged my family member to get therapy at 150$ per hour even though this person isn’t working because they are having a breakdown after losing a family member. Very disappointing. He spoke ill of the Hope Centre and said that the public psychologists weren’t very good. Shame on Lionsgate for allowing this egomaniac to see patients.
We had our breech son here by cesarean, and stayed 4 nights. Wonderful and professional doctors, nurses and staff, great Covid protocols and even the food was decent. Thank you so much for taking care of us. Special thanks to Shelly, Elaine and Judy in the maternity ward, we felt so taken care of!
Rude reception staff. They also lost my patient file twice. The doctors are pretty good though.
Doctor ordered me to head to emerg for a urological issue, came in and this is probably the most upbeat and happy hospital I've been in. Nurses were very polite and positive attituded (even when I told them the urine sampling got a bit rowdy and housekeeping was needed). Got into intake almost immediately and saw a doctor, then got an instant referral to a dermatologist and some medicine that finally seems to work). Full stay was about three hours. I'm sure everybody has their good and bad days, but today the work ethic was shining. Heck, probably choose this place to die in. You staff on the front lines keep it up, you deserve the praise.
Restriction of parking for patients and expensive parking, nurses are not very professionsl
Overall experience was pretty good the waiting process was better than some of the other hospitals however still took many many hours to get looked at.
NICU people are incredibly rude and do not wash hands or change gloves when touching those tiny babies who depend on them to keep them safe. Those little babies that have weak immune systems and something brought from another patient can kill them. They’re very inconsiderate.
Lions Gate Hospital is under staff. Patients and staff feel the stress both.
Type of place that needs to be shut down!
I was calling to see if my dad went in for surgery and she said not yet and I asked how come and the lady just hung up on me?? I would like to talk to the manager or email a CEO
I give birth at lions gate hospital
Great staff, very friendly
Came here cause of an accident and the staff was super friendly. My doctor was nice and informative. Plus they got free wifi always a plus. Felt pretty safe here. Althought those red lines your suppose to follow get confusing at some points lol
The ED was fantastic when I went in. Not only were the intake staff and nurses quick and efficient, I felt they were extremely empathetic and caring. Claire (RN), was gentle and kind. Dr David was friendly and thorough and had me ready to go home in no time. The waiting area was spacious and clean as well.
Emmergency service is awful and very bad.
I just had the most informative conversation with Ferina at the Pediatric Asthma Clinic. She is a care provider who loves her job and it shows. We are privileged to have such compassionate and committed staff serving our community. Thank you Ferina for all you do! I should hope that she is appropriately acknowledged for her service excellence to the North Shore.
Have been there with my 2mnths old daughter in emergency but Doctor came after 2.5 hrs!! Very Bad experience ????????
Got to the hospital at 12:30am on Tuesday morning. It's now 2am and still haven't seen a doctor.
Had an emergency visit recently for my first fainting spell in my life. Multiple tests done and not one nurse or doctor had told me the results, and they made jokes right in front of my face about how I was just excited about the male doctor because I was young. One of the male nurses was extremely condescending whenever my mother would ask about the situation. I had even been held overnight without being admitted, so they didn't serve me any breakfast after 7 hours of staying there. Later the next day I was finally released without any clue what was wrong and a slip for a 24h holter monitor, which I didn't get a call for results until 3 weeks later.
Hands down the best hospital staff I've talked too. Pure class and proffesionalism. Went to emergency on Friday night when I had lower abdominal pain and obviously it was busy for about a 4 hour wait, I don't blame them as people always say avoid busy Friday nights. I started feeling better and after speaking with a doctor in the early morning, he wanted me to come back for an ultrasound to check out to see my appendix. Next morning I got there and there was no wait or lineup, they quickly put me into a ultrasound and by the way the technician was one of the smoothest talkers ever. After I met with another doctor in emergency and she said that the ultra sound was not showing enough. Even though I was feeling better, she didn't want to give up and wanted to make sure I'm okay. They did more blood work and sent me for a ct scan, which by the way is unreal, super sci-fi. Came back and waited just half an hour when I got the news from the emergency doctor that I had appendicitis. Dr. Zargaran then came by and spoke about his recommendation about having my appendix removed even though it wasn't that bad anymore but good idea to do in case it comes back. He gave me all the info about it and so forth. Within 30 minutes I was wearing a sweet dress and went off to my first surgery. Not gonna lie I was extremely nervous but Dr. Zargaran's team did a phenomenal job at being nice, supportive and helpful. They wheeled me into the surgery room, popped me on the oxygen (which they said was just oxygen you, you liars haha) next I knew it, I was out in recovery with a sweet hangover. The ladies there were super helpful and sorry if I said anything weird or funny. Thanks again everyone, just need to recover now! Lions Gate has phenomenal staff and the new upgrades to the building look great. Class act team.
The information desk, cashiers, and emergency room staff were very helpful
The worst emergency experience ever! I was there from 1 to 5 am and all they did was giving a pill! extremely rude staff...
I have been at LGH no fewer than 8 or 10 times. Most of the time it has been busy an yet its personnel rarely fail to treat the most difficult patients with a smile, patience and kindness. They remind me that ulimately we are all part of the human species. LGH is underfunded and in huge need of expanding its services for more expeditious care. They welcome donations but its the government and our taxpayers' dollars that should foot the bill. I have only appreciation for this place although I always want to leave it ASAP.
Would take a full day in emergency for a two minute visit with the doctor. Would take another couple of hours to let you know IF they can run a few tests today or tomorrow...
Crap place.
It’s hard to review hospitals because everyone has different experiences, some people get turned down and become angry, some people have everything go smoothly and have a wonderful experience. There is usually no in between. On my visit the hospital is as most hospitals should be in terms of facilities. Organized and easy to find what you’re looking for. The staff were friendly but official. If you’re looking at reviews to see if you should come here, well you can’t get a guaranteed experience. Check this place out, it’s a good place but if you have a bad experience try and have a good outlook. Not everything that goes wrong or against you is intentional. This place is a nice community hospital and they always get stuff right away. They have nice places for non-patients to wait and get away from the hospital area which is nice since looking at needles and bedpans isn’t always a comfortable experience for everyone. They have a TV in the cardiac area waiting area and an open area where there is fresh air to enjoy and not the hospital smell.
I've never witnessed such uncooperative nursing staff in a hospital like this in all of my 70 years. Surly, rude, and unhelpful. The patient I was going to visit has no immediate family in Canada. Just trying to find out anything at the front desk of the cardiac ward, or by phone speaking to the wards nursing station was like pulling teeth. I realize the policy of no information given out by anyone except relatives, but I'd already been there visiting twice before. I didn't expect any specific details regarding his condition. I simply wanted to find out if this patient was eating, and cooperating in general, as he wasn't when I last saw him. This has to be the worst hospital I have had the displeasure of visiting, and I've been to plenty over my lifetime. If possible go to VGH, St Paul's, or Mt St Joseph's where there is friendly helpful staff. I worry about my friend's survival in there. My friend in there is 84 years old, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if I discovered that he's passed away. And I also wonder who's fault that would really be? I don't care how busy the hospital is. Pull your collective heads out of your rectum, and start cooperating with the people who care most about their patient. A smile doesn't cost anything does it? It shouldn't be hard to give out answers to non-specific questions. I'm very worried and angry about this whole situation.
Covid-19 screen at the door, staff was polite, waited-- like 5 minutes, had a scan done, and went home. This was like 20 minutes tops in and out. I applaud the 5 star service I was given!!
Terribly slow hospital ! More than 6 hrs waiting for the emergency patients. Good staff though...
Unfortunately, I had a bad crash at Whistler, and I was sent here for various fractures and injuries. I was subsequently moved through various levels of treatment, and I was impressed by the staff at every level. Everyone was professional, efficient, and through, and I have full confidence in my treatment.
I was officer at 3rd floor, children section. I saw the way nurses servre people. Very nice, polite and hard working. They are true angels. Plus, super clean, lots of space for patients, good doctors and supporting staff. Like 5 star hotel.
I was born here in 86! I am alive and well so these professionals are the best of the best!
I would like to commend each NCCU nurse personally for their tireless work on keeping the critical patients safe and comfortable. Big thank to DR RYAN JINIKI for saving my life. ..
The Hospital where my kids were born great Hospital
dirty and stinky
This is where my daughter Sharon was born.
Great staff! Very helpful
I have had 2 family members from out of province visit this hospital needing medical assistance for injuries and both times they were treated quickly by friendly and professional staff. Well done Lions Gate!!
Phenomenal staff.
Love the Maternity clinic, labour and delivery Department, they took a good care of me so far, n I’m happy with their services. I appreciate all doctors and nurses they are kind, welcoming n caring which makes me calm. N I’m going for delivery here in 3-4 weeks time
Spent 5 days here a couple of months ago after surgery . The doctors , nurses and staff were great . Big thumbs up to the nurses on 6E . Must say though the recovery rooms are awful . There small , run down ( in bad need of renovating ) and very noisy . Checked myself out early due to lack of sleep . It was like a form of torture . Even paid extra for a semi private room ( 2 beds ) . The bed next to me was empty when I arrived and was used for emergency patients the first couple of nights . It was chaos . Didn't sleep at all . Never been so exhausted in my life . Not a good environment to promote healing . Nothing the staff can do about that though . ( A+ ) to the staff ..........( D - ) to the accommodations ........
I really not recommend this hospital. They would rather let you die than help you. Nurses, recepcionists and doctors are terrible and don’t show any will to help the patients. I went there twice this week and I didn’t have any help... I’m still super sick and I believe I’m actually worse since I had to wait hours and hours sitting beside sick people doing blood tests in front of me. That was disgusting. Furthermore, the doctors that saw me they looked at me like I was ruining their days, and after hours of wait it took them 2 minutes with me to say that I was okay even feeling super bad and said that I was good to go...
I have just spent 24 hrs experiencing the compassionate care of everyone at this Hospital. From my check- in with Amber and Justine, to the endless stream of hard working nurses and Doctors, when I was admitted into Emergency, it allowed for a behind the scenes perspective. I saw some nurses in a steady stream of offering compassionate care from night to morning! I was privileged to stay overnight and brought warm blankets. After one scan was done and I spoke with Dr. Johnathan McGrogan about other serious concern I had, he was kind and prompt to order another procedure. Later, as I sat amongst a row of others, the Doctor took his time speaking with me with the kindest words. He then carried on with the rest of the patients and provided the same compassion. When your sitting in a hospital, you pick up on everything and the teamwork, plus communication of the nurses, showed how dedicated they all are! What mattered to me was being seen, not just as a patient, but also a person. Later a Social Worker, Wynnae Seldon provided me with helpful resources. Due to my current circumstances and health issues, I have needed the services of our Healthcare system. It is one that is bursting at the seams, with overworked Nurses Doctors and Staff that are trying to be in ten places at once! In writing of my experiences, I've witnessed a system that needs an injection of kindness towards all front line workers! I want to Thank each and everyone who tended to my health needs and hope others understand, how blessed we are to have such compassionate care!!
Good but the siren sound of the ambulances are too loud ????
Horrible nurses with bad attitude, if you don't like your job why are you working as a nurse
Not so spicy ????
NICU is absolutely absurd. they don’t wash their hands, they don’t wear new gowns when entering a baby’s room, they’re clumsy with the babies, it’s unacceptable and you guys NEED to change your standards. absolutely ridiculous.
Went here for MRI. Staff is very professional ????
We were in emergency for 5 hours waiting just to get admitted.worst ER hospital ever.

Nurses and staff were wonderful and very compassionate, I needed several emergency visits and each time they seemed to care for me in a pleasant and polite way. Doctors were very polite and had excellent bedside manner (rare I know), they helped me understand my condition and answered all my questions. I felt safe despite being in pain from my condition. I will be calling them to compliment how they treated me
Can't say enough good things about the emergency room staff here. From start to finish we were met with compassion and competency. They took care to keep us updated as well. As with any hospital, long waits are to be expected - that said, if you're triaged with a serious condition you will get treated right away. Won't speak to other people's experiences but I think we all have expectations of high quality care, but not all expectations are realistic.
waiting waiting. doctors have heavy hands. and will ask you are you ok. and why are you here . are you healthy
Emergency staff screamed at me for not having photo ID on me (i was waiting for it to come in the mail) i had my care card which should be enough in an emergency situation.

I called to inquire about a missing person who was admitted to the emergency department. The staff was very rude and hung up on me twice after one word answers. Bizarre
The nurses here are the best! Thank you for being great people!
Probably most positive attitude that I've seen in a hospital . The care companion was top notch. The nurses are in credible. And the doctors are pretty amazing to
This is the worse hospital.
My grandfather had a surgery performed at this hospital and has been staying at this hospital post-operation for about 3 weeks now. Staff is great. However, upon visiting him yesterday (Jan 6) it came to my attention that he had been moved from his room. When I asked the staff they informed me that he had been transferred to Mount St. Joseph Hospital. They did not inform any of the family members (I was the main contact for him). Why would they not have informed the family members, when my grandfather can't understand nor speak any English.
Friendly service! All the staff helpful.
Friendly service! All the staff helpful.
I spent the night there last night. Everyone was so so good to me. From the emts who got me thre to the triage staff and nurses and of course the doctors and residents. I was floored by who fast and friendly they all were and how much they got done in my time there. I had my heart checked, chest xray, blood taken. Then they decided to keep me over night to let me rest and have an iv drip. The night nurses were all so great to me and the one who gave me my covid swab deserves a raise for having to deal with the baby that I was when getting it done. BRAVO GIRL! The morning staff were just as great and made me feel so cared for. I fee thankful knowing that they are my local hospital ???? ❤
Hi Emergency service = waste of time . And after 10 hours 0 percent solution . If I will sick other time I don't go there more me and my kids too . Poor service , angry staff . I think we are not in Canada inside of this emergency service . Thanks
My partner broke her leg and was taken to this hospital. They were very helpful!! Great staff work here!!
Amazing, THE BEST hospital I have been too. The nurse was so sweet she was super empethetic and comforting, just so nice to all the patients. And all the other staff where also great, definitely the best hospital in the vancouver area!
Less waiting time than other hospitals, very nice staff.
I went in for hysterectomy surgery just after New Year's. My surgeon, my anesthesiologist, all the nurses were wonderful!! I was feeling scared and vulnerable before and after the surgery and everyone I met was kind and caring and made me feel like I was important and in good hands. I feel grateful and lucky to have had my procedure there.
Sharp scalpels.
Hi. Hope my review can help LGH customer service to work better. The lab opens at 7, the cashier opens at 8! it means the patient who served in the lab, should wait at least 45 minutes to pay the bill! Cashiers suppose to open at 8! (it's written on the sign) today they open at 8:10! so I couldn't get to my office on-time! and I open the office with 15 minutes delay!
My husband had fall on stairs. We go to this hospital and are scared of coronavirus. Staff nurse help us feel comfortable and take care of my husband. thank you staff.
Rude uneducated ER nurses. After four hours of waiting they got my test results wrong and when i told them that i have to be at work early in the morning she said you can leave it’s up to you.
I hate the hospital. Who likes the hospital? That said, I’m a rather serious mountain biker who has found himself at Lions Gate more times than I’d like. At the end of the day, they’re busy and they have a lot of sh*t to put up with. I always find their emergency staff to be incredibly helpful, friendly and sympathetic. Their system is efficient and they really do respect your time as you move through their process. GOOD PEOPLE WORK HERE ... I’m glad they’re in my community. Thank you.

Thank you to everyone at LGH for a caring, healthy and positive experience during my surgery this week. I spent 2 days and 1 night where I received so much thorough attentive care that I felt spoiled. I was a bit nervous beforehand but as soon as I was in pre-op I realized I had many professionals making sure everything was checked. I was lucky after recovery to be sent to the maternity ward where Adrienne , Elaine,Simone, Anne were caring and friendly, taking the time to engage with me as a person. Many thanks also to Drs Donnely, Kaye, and med students Lauren and others who made me feel like a vip
Very compassionate and kind staff even when they are at their busiest
The emergency department was so so helpful yesterday. I was in severe pain and they got me to a bed immediately. I didn’t have to wait long for a dr. And I got great care, wish I had gotten names of everyone who helped. From the security guard outside to the reception, nurses and doctor, everyone was so helpful and compassionate. Sad to see so many 1 star reviews for hospital staff who are surely doing their best.
I went to the emergency at 6pm and had to wait for a doctor to come and see me for 4 hours!
An amazing staff.professional doctors. I went there yesterday for an emergency health issue. All the tests were done fast and they helped me to get rid of back pain. The dr and nurses were extremely nice and professional. Thanks alot for your service. You are amazing
Absolutely embarrassing pace set by staff...can't believe they pile up patient after patient from several ambulances in the open corridors and waiting rooms and in front of bathroom doors..takes hours and hours before someone drags their feet over and superficially tends to anyone.Hire some doctors...worse than a third world country
A woman lost her baby due to the negligence of the staff here. There will be an investigation after the family has processed this loss. She received no monitoring or intervention as she waited in a room for over 24 hours after her water broke. Her calls when unanswered and her concerns were invalidated. It didn't have to be this way.
Fast service, friendly, delightful except for the broken hand...
I wish I could give negative 5 stars. Went their and waited 2 hours in the waiting room and then was sent to examine room and waited another 2 hours, finally got fed up and told them you guys are too slow and walked out. That's how free health care is.
Had surgery done here a week ago. I will admit I was a bit of a difficult patient (really low pain tolerance). The surgeon and all the nurses were amazing. They took extremely good care of me. Everything went smoothly. I would say this hospital has the best staff.
That Hospital is terrible I had the worst experience, at the emergency room the staff at the front and a nurse they were inappropriate and very disrespectful, I can’t believe this the kind of people that get hired to work in a hospital, this is a disgrace to our Canadian medical services
Excellent people
Is there a way to put less than 1 star? Emergency Department: kept us waiting 9 HOURS for blood test and ultrasound and when we finally asked WTF is going on!!! a doctor came in to "discuss results" who read just could not say anything intelligible... aaaand to get the results we are told to go the some other place and to pay there - 9 hours of bullshit and insulting treatment. We'll be filing an official complaint at these so called medical "professionals".
Undiagnosed stomach ulcer also prescribe meds that made my fiancées situation worse there is a ton more I could write about our experience but I will be goin to VGH next time just got out of there with a proper diagnosis and a plan to make it better instead of pain meds and being told to wait it out..
I googled medical wait times and it said that it was 1 hour and 16min wait for lions gate emergency so i decided to go there. I was placed in a back room and had no one even come by and ask me a single thing I was there for 2 hours and 30 minutes And at that point i decided it was better to just go home and try a urgent care tomorrow. The medical service in greater Vancouver is becoming quite attrocious as i injured my shoulder last year and it took a month just to get an ultra sound. I am almost certainly leaving greater Vancouver, on top of super high prices of living and taxes, youd figure there would be a half decent medical system. Been living here since 1977 and things have just gotten worse and worse for the average person.
Doctors were thorough.
My treatment at Lions Gate Hospital was exceptional....great surgeon, Jando, for knee replacement. And the staff from pre-surgery room...Alia, to the operating room with their sense of humour and caring, to recovery with Lucy and then daycare with Stephanie and Rachel, and many others. They attended to me and others with a positive attitude, good support, catering to our needs and were very qualified. Great experience. rae schidlo
Clean hospital
Nurses are great but it seems like the Drs here are completely lost and unable to provide efficient or accurate care.
I hope the management read this. I feel bad that during these hard times I say this, but the reception staff at the emergency are THE WORST! while I was in pain, trying to provide my information and answering questions I was bombarded with questions about my physical apearance and my financial situation becasue my MSP number was blocked due to me being out of province (none of their business). I hope they re-train them and give them proper advice on how to stick to their health and personal information questions, and be PROFESSIONAL! All other nurses and doctors were amazing and really helpful througout the process, but the first interaction was terrible. Mnagement, please fix!
I'm from Québec province working in NorthVancouver. I had an incident and want to Lion Gate Hospital Wowww !!! quel Service....The staff was super nice to me the Doctor was attentionnée and super kind....Make a big big différence with the service we have in Quebec hpspital....Tooks me 2 hours total (including And X-ray and a prescription from the medecin) just great
Aug 7/2016 KUDOS TO THE EMERGENCY STAFF, especially the staff at the First Aid station. My husband had prolonged bleeding from ear surgery and we spend several hours, twice Friday Aug 5th and the morning of the 6th in the emergency. The Dr. and staff were terrific. Many thanks to the chap on the First Aid desk for the 'doughnut' you provided for his ear-it helped tremendously. Regards, Francis & Barbara Waldbillig
Phenomenal staff.
Probably the worst hospital I’ve seen in my life. My wife was sent to different hospital during her due date because 4 out 5 nurses didn’t show up to work on that day. Let alone that there’s always a delay of 2 or 3 hours to get attention even with not too many patients. Some of the nurses and assistants are very rude and seem like they don’t want to work at all.
Had a wonderful experience. Staff were very kind, compassionate and efficient, was in and out quickly.
I read the reviews and was slightly worried. I must say my experience was quite the opposite. Went in for day surgery and EVERYONE was great, Dr Nabi is fantastic, as was the anesthesiologist. The nurse in the post op area is top notch, making sure everyone there was well looked after and all their questions were answered, he loves his job and it shows. Couldn't have been any more comfortable.
People are not friendly
Brought my pregnant wife to the emergency room as we did not feel baby kick and was admitted immediately to the 3rd floor labour and delivery area where a registered nurse, Antoinette, was readying a bed for her to lie down. Antoinette was compassionate, warm and very reassuring to my wife and I. Really glad she was able to admit us and help answer our questions. Thank you Antoinette.
i cannot express enough what a humbling experience it was for me to be cared for by the neurological ward staff following back surgery. i'm very grateful for their attention to details, dedication to their profession, and i think going that extra mile. thanks to the 7th floor and all the LGH staff involved in my intake and procedure. best you all.
If I could leave negative stars I would. I had read the horrible reviews of the emergency department but really hoped they were wrong. They weren’t. The women working at admitting were very nice. The nurses working in the emergency department were so rude and condescending. Especially the blonde woman with the stupid looking pink glasses. So awful I could not believe it. Completely ignored me and others. The way she talked to me was such a shock. I left after two hours as it was pointless Being there.
Have had to bring my daughter for numerous emergency Dept visits...staff never fails to impress me with their dedication. Thank you!!
As always, very courteous and professional.
DR. EDWARD KROLL I had the misfortune encountering this arrogant, antiquated stiff of a doctor at the Park and Tilford clinic last night. He resisted helping me altogether because he had made up his mind that I was not eligible for help at a walk in clinic and that I should go to my g.p. in that regard. - I’m guessing that because he had access to my files that he may have noticed my mental designation/diagnosis and that perhaps he thought I was too uppity for being so diagnosed and that he had better be put in my proper place. - and so, I believe, he thought that he could easily push me around. Essentially he refused to help me at all with the lab referrals which were the main purpose of my visit to that clinic. He told me that I had to get such referrals by way of my general practitioner. It seems that this highly educated man had never heard of a citizen (even on medicare) being entitled to different opinions- to the opinion of more than one doctor? For indeed that is why I go to walk in clinics - to get the different opinions from different doctors there - l and I believe it is my right tgo do so. I invested considerable travel and waiting time to get to the Park and Tilford Clinic last evening - I had a small tumor in my belly and I wanted to resolve the issue of my left knee - to determine if it had any serious damage which would show up on x-ray or ultrasound -because I am a serious tennis player - similarly I wanted an x-ray or ultrasound for my foot for some possible sliver of glass or metal - but this calcified authority figure denied all of these things to me - I’d spent the time going to that clinic and waiting but that wasn't enough for him, I believe that his true purpose was not to help me at all but to knock me down a few peg and to put me in my proper place.
Thank you Brenna for making my 2-day stay at Lions Gate easy, you are so positive and caring!
When the house keeping is changing their gloves only going from a COVID wing and into the NICU wing next, this is asinine! What makes it worse is that when a parent complains after being told that they only change their gloves, and is met with rudeness; shows the true colors of this hospital! The hospital should not only be concern about COVID when it is convenient for the hospital funds, it should be for the best interest of the patients! PATIENTS are the most important thing! Then to boot, a Mother tells a sub-par nursing student, her charge nurse, and administration that she is not to care for her child and they say to bad and she has to learn. If that was anyone of high importance I am sure the buricratic preservation of the hospital funds would have got the NICU to honor the parents wishes! I recommend staying far away from this hospital.
ER was a mess. The gatekeeper was not pleasant and all he cared about was to continuously say what the fee is for foreign patients - repeatedly, while he has a credit card in hand. I had a bad experience at the gate keeper the first time and left immediately because it took 20 minutes alone talking to the guy about the fee after I had given him the card and told him to charge the fee. He was not paying attention to my urgent need and pain, he was only concerned about the fee to the point where I felt he was reluctant to process it and let me in to be looked at in a decent time frame, so I walked out figuring it was easier to drive to states to fix the issue then waiting for him. The second time was out of my control, and my wife brought me. The doctor ENT was new and should have brought in more experienced people based on my medical history, but he continued to take steps that made my disputation worse. I had asked for IV or a better solution after hours of bleeding which they never considered. So I went into shock from the loss of blood and became anemic to the point where finally other doctors came to check me out. The ENT should have brought in support and expertise, and the people who assigned him should have taken the steps to oversee it better. This would have avoided me going into shock and becoming anemic which is still something I am working on getting back to normal. Go to Vancouver General, they have better protocols that they follow, the right support, and payment is not a major reluctant issue.
The number one hospital in all of North Vancouver. The staff are Incredible and quite pleasant. They love to joke around and keep spirits high. Unfortunately I don't plan on going back.
The staff are mostly great, but I caught C.Difficile there in 2017 and been suffering ever since. I think they should get a handle on it and use better Cleaning Staff and Portable UVC Lights and soak the Commodes in a tub of Bleach for I am not the only one that has caught that infection from there.
Unreal wait times of 5 hours on several occasions
Are we still in Canada??? Since when can the medical industry tell us what we can do with our own bodies? Do we not have any human rights anymore? We go to hospital and it is mandatory to take a test that is full of nano particles, and then even told we may be forced to take a vaccine? Hmmm, I don't believe it is a vaccine. It is an experimental drug that hasn't even been approved by the FDA. It has been tested on animals . . . they all died! We need to stand up for our rights . . . be sure that if anything happens to the person I am in contact with that is there right now . . . I will Sue!
Took my son in for sutures on his chin. Gabriel in Emergency had such great attitude and bed side manner. Staff are all awesome. Thanks for the service.
I was just released from Lion gate Hospital yesterday, and cannot say enough about the staff from the emergency department, to all of the nurses and Dr's that helped me get better to the porters and cleaning staff who brightened my day when I was feeling pretty down and sorry for myself! A huge shout out to Dr. Donnelly, Marlon, and Shohela I thank you from the bottom of my heart and will never forget the care you provided me!!!
this is to the nurse ginger nurse that works at the emergency departments that told us you just have to tough it up ''you have a bad flu''. We went to the emergency because my dads fever would not come down due to covid and also he had severe coughs. right at the front door the nurse told us we can only give you Tylenol and advil and basically shamed us for coming to the emergency. A couple days later we called 911 and emergency came to our house, the same nurse was there. They checked everything and she said ur okay and there is no need to take you to the hospital. 24 hours later my dad went to a urgent care center and a DOCTOR called the ambulance to take him to a hospital and NOW HES IN THE ICU. THIS IS ABSOULOUTLEY UNACCEPTABLE.
I was referred by my doctor to go to emergency for a painful problem. I was nervous about going after reading various reviews. However when I got there alone whilst my wife looked for parking I was received by the staff at the door, I was asked the relevant covid security questions and sent inside to register. The admission staff were very busy but very efficient and I registered at the desk within minutes. I was sent inside to the Triage unit and waited a few minutes until I was called for a blood test after giving the details of my symptoms. Meanwhile the lovely lady at the door came to find me just to inform me that my wife had found a parking space and that she was waiting outside. About an hour after my entering triage I saw a doctor who was incredibly efficient and understanding, she then arranged a CT scan which happened within another hour as I recall. I was again visited by the lady at the door to tell me that maybe my wife should go home and she sent her in to collect the house keys from me. Soon after I saw the Doctor again who was on top of my test results and she talked them through with me. A few minutes later I urgently needed another explorative scan after experiencing excruciating pain which was immediately followed up with a medical procedure to eliminate the problem. All executed by the triage nurse with incredible efficiency. The doctor arranged with me for ongoing treatment with a specialist next week. The same nurse helped me dress, carried my coat for me to the entrance area and I waited for my wife. I arrived at Lions gate hospital at about 11am, I left around 4.30pm. After having a CT scan, a second scan, blood test, a medical procedure, two or three consultations with the doctor and lots of attention from the nursing staff. Many thanks to all the staff at Lions Gate, you went far beyond expectations especially during these difficult times as well. George Robin Crosland Aged 75.
The TikTok mum who has caused this spate of one star reviews is attention seeking. For one thing, this hospital had not had any Covid cases in the entire time her baby has been there because Covid precautions are taken seriously. She's looking for views and TikTok clout by complaining about the people and place working hard to keep her baby alive. She ought to be ashamed and her little posse needs to do some actual research before denigrating a place and its people devoted to helping the most vulnerable. To the idiots posting one star reviews of a place they've never been, get a life!
Horrible. Staff doesn't change clothing or GLOVES when going to different units. Higher ups are extremely rude.
Bwttwr bring foo. 4.5 hpurs to gry me breakfast. And sipper is served shortly after noon, and not allowed tp leave tyhe room ro get my own
A very big THANK-YOU to all the nurses on the 6th floor, as well as the care aides, physios, wound nurse, porters, my surgeon Dr Baggoo and everyone else that took care of me during my 2.5 week stay after a serious injury to both my legs. I hope you all know you're doing a great job and that we appreciate you ❤️
This hospital is the worse, I never seeing staff in hospital so rude and disgraceful, I grew up in Montreal also lived in Toronto and I never been to a hospital that the staff is so rude, unbelievable unkind and disrespectful staff
DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU REQUIRE EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE. Somebody I knew, 29 years young, was sent home 4 times, before she eventually passed away of an infection that could have been treated. THIS IS HORRENDOUS. Not only that, but two others I know of, one ended up having meningitis, were turned away recently from the emergency room. Turning emergency room visits away? Are you kidding me?!
In these days of finding fault and and not wanting to take the time to recognize great work, I wanted to take a moment to buck the trend. Maybe even start a new trend. I was lucky enough to use the services of Lions Gate this past week. After a long and winding affair, taking my turn to receive full knee replacement. Right from the get go, including pre op information 2 weeks in advance, I was constantly reminded how lucky we are on the North Shore. Surgery day was stressful but fortunately, I was well prepared. The Nurse at the receiving front desk was calming and assuring, the prep staff were outstanding, the surgical team made me feel like I was a guest, the recovery team and the "day care staff" over two days were tremendous, the team on the 6th floor (Nurses, physio) were second to none. Expecting the worse from the food, No it wasn't Hawksworth but it was fine and always served with a smile. I was always treated with respect and dignity and always with a great degree of levity. In the end, I suppose that you get what you give but I was never at loss to find ways to say thanks. Yes, I get that there is a good deal of challenge with many patients but I for one say we are darn lucky. By the by, 5 days after surgery, I am up and causing all sorts of trouble but having left with such a positive experience, and great care, I am not surprised. Thanks Lions gate Staff. I have round two of knee replacements in the future but beyond this, I hope not to see you soon but good to know you have our backs. Russ J
I had an health emergency problem and I had to go to the Lions-gate emergency department. All staffs as well as their services was really awesome. In comparison with my previous experience in another hospital emergency department, both staffs behavior and equipment were obviously better. They behaved me very supportable and my problem was mended very well. I am really thankful about their service.
to Tiffany Chartier re the TicToc mom from NICU. i believe every word she said about LGH being FILTHY. my "NEW BORN" son and me BOTH caught Pertussis, and he ALMOST DIED IF NOT FOR AN AMBULANCE RIDE TO CHILDRENS. IT'S A HORRIBLE HOSPITAL.
It's more like LIONS GATE ZOO than anything else. I do NOT recommend Lions Gate hospital unless you absolutely have no choice. Last week my husband and I witnessed a nurse in ER admission yelling at a young lady who was clearly in pain to pull up her sleeve faster and told her "don't be a princess", which is beyond shocking and inhumane. The staff then continue their chatter and laughter in front of ill patients and will keep you 4.5 hours or more, even if they are not busy; no matter the severity of the medical condition...if any complains...the front staff, will make an annoyed face and tell you that you should have called an ambulance (ignorant to the fact that not everyone can afford the luxury of an ambulance transportation)! My husband was bitten by a HOBO spider on his leg so I drove him to Lions Gate hospital Emergency. After witnessing the Lions Gate hospital staff's horrific behaviour, and waiting for 5.5 hours until his shirt was literally drenched in sweat from high fever but shivering in chills, with a leg swollen to double it's size and red, finally they let my poor husband through the doors to be seen by doctor. The doctor after examination diagnosed his extremely swollen leg as ALLERGY to the Fall Season!!!! If I did not insist that it was a HOBO spider, to get him the right treatment, today he would have been without a leg. This hospital is out of control and runs like a Zoo. Even if you go the hospital's "senior care" department, the seniors are covered in skin sores and are left all alone the whole day. I am writing the TRUTH so hopefully someone will take charge instead of finding excuses to cover their ongoing inhumane daily pattern.
Construction workers were trying to deter us from seeking medical treatments. Not allowing us to access parking, and tailgating us with their heavy vehicles. Clearly in a road rage after my elderly 71 years old mother trying to access emergency. A complete interference from the unionized bandits, from our professional careers and following to our personal medical treatments. Just a shame and a joke of a construction contractor. And further, prejudicial staffs within the hospital itself. Scheduling us for hours long examination, and turning us around after minutes, and being late from the start. Do you think we are stupid?! I can hardly see how a real doctor would tolerate such prejudicial staff. Shame on you Lions Gate hospital, don't think we are unaware of the racket you operate between your administration and the unionized companies. No wonder your general manager did not address our formal complaints as of today. Let it be clear, We have contacted the police three times over the last 2 weeks. if you staff and your contractor have extreme racist bias against my family, Id recommend you go on with firing them and yourself, this behavior has not place around a hospital, or anywhere within our community for that matter. You get one star, but that's no star at all, Just an aberration and a shame to the entire Canadian identity. There is plenty of capable professionals to replace your staff overnight.
Why 20 people have to ask name snd date of birth, when i have tag on hand a difficulties to speak. The file is for a reason. READ IT. Why 20 people run around like chickens, and nothing get acomplishes. at the end just here is a whole bunch of tylenol, go home in same bad shape you got here. Was yold chest pains are hard to diagnose, so we dont thing its your hearth, have tylenol, go home Whats about actualy do the work properly and find out whats wrong? That what hospitals are fore, full of specialists, best technology available 24/7....yes, but only in countries with healthcare, not Canada
I had a motorcycle accident which broke my back. Was admitted to this hospital. They refused to X ray me for more than 2 years after I continued to complain about back pain. Eventually I got them to do the scan after a very long argument with the doctor. “I decide if you need an X ray not you” (doctors words) after the x ray came back he barely looked at me and said “you have an old fracture on your spine but we cannot do anything about it now” the staff lack insight on how people mange pain, they lack compassion and knowledge and from what I felt they are a little racist (obviously not all of them). If you have the choice choose a different hospital. Saint Paul’s or VGH would be better choices if you want to have doctors and nurses who know what they are doing. They also botched a surgery on my Dad and he contracted MRSA. The infection nearly killed him because he was turned away multiple times because they could not identify an incredibly infected knee.
Great hospital. The staff are friendly and despite being overworked they provide excellent care.
Worst admitting and intake nurses ever. Shamed for going to hospital for a severe covid vaccination reaction, despite the 811 nurse line suggesting to get checked immediately. The intake nurse scoffed: "oh, they tell everyone that“ and quickly told us we should have just taken even more Tylenol. She never even got the pertinent information because she wouldn't listen or had formed her conclusion before asking? Same lack of efficiency was evident in dreaded waiting room A. The uninterested nurses in the emergency area kept losing patients. The patients in the waiting room had to direct and help each other. At least it was better than waiting area B where the nurses forgot about a woman for 5 hours, they never noticed her, thought she was discharged until a blood worker found her and made the woman's presence known with the intake nurses again. Finally, why on earth are there patients laying in hospital gowns on trolleys in the hallways right next to the emergency entrance? I know there's overcrowding but please give the overnight admitted patients some privacy from people who walk in from the street. These patients should not be in full view of the initial waiting room from the street! Could the hospital please provide them the decency of a non-see-through partition!? How embarrassing. Who is managing this hospital?? Surely you can do better than that. (PS. I did contact PCQO and hospital administration - still no response and nothing improved.)
I had an emergency appendectomy at Lions Gate Hospital last month and (almost) the entire experience was positive. With the exception of the person at triage, every single member of the medical staff from my initial admission through discharge was friendly, professional, helpful and compassionate. The time from walking through the ER doors to being examined, given a CT scan a bed was under four hours. I was home in three days, well on the mend. I can't say enough about how impressed I was.
(Translated) Beautiful and very pleasant space - ground floor and the whole hall. Unfortunately long waiting for granddaughter treatment. (Original) Krásný a velmi příjemný prostor - přízemí a celá hala. Bohužel dlouhé čekání na ošetření vnučky.
My husband had knee surgery just over a week ago. From the admitting to the nurses, anesthesiologist and surgeon, I can’t say enough great things. Everyone was so professional and kind and helpful. The volunteer, Gordon, came by to check if we needed anything; warm blanket, newspaper etc. He was so kind and I noticed there were many people waiting alone for their surgeries. I could see that his smiling, kind and positive personality was a great help during a stressful time. A big thanks to everyone. ???? Tara B.
Unbelieveable careful hospitality here is, very cleaned and Covid restricted. Very fast with emergency treatment and responsive too. Doctors are very informative and listening my problem carefully. I had never been experience with other's like Lions Gate, they are just awesome.
I waited for 6 hours to see a doctor in the ER. I would never recommend going to this hospital for ER - it was unbelievable!
Currently recovering from surgery for a broken femur - the doctors, specialists, and nurses have been nothing but lovely and kind. Despite the inopportune circumstances; their hopspitality and professionalism makes me feel entirely comfortable and safe to be here
It seems as though the reviews from the last 5 days have stemmed from an angry NICU TikTok mother who has her followers convinced that this hospital is so horrible and so unsanitary. I think its extremely unfair that people who have never had a personal experience with this hospital to post negative one- star reviews that cannot taken down based on one person's opinion. From what I see, the NICU at this hospital seems to be doing a very good job, the baby's skin color looks great, he looks like he is thriving. Things aren't always going to be perfect, and we aren't always going to agree with how the hospital does things especially with the visiting hours of the NICU, but the rules are in place for a reason. Also videotaping from your unsanitized cellphone in the NICU is just as bad as someone coming in and forgetting to wash their hands. So Lionsgste NICU, keep doing the good job you're doing and here is y'all a 5 star review to combat at least 1 of the fabricated 1 star review from someone who didn't even visit your hospital! Have a wonderful day!
My 88 yr old father was discharged from the Rehab unit after a fall with a fractured arm. When my 78 year old mom and I went to pick him up, the nurse that was 'covering' for his primary nurse didn't know plans for his home care support; information about a Cardiology follow up. Further, I was asked to take my father down to the car as the nurse could not leave the unit. To add insult to injury, another hospital staff asked me to bring the wheelchair back to the 5th floor! When I asked if a porter couldn't do that, I was told 'NO', they didn't do that/was not their job. I responded telling them that they shouldn't be asking patients and family members to do their job. The staff member responded, "Oh, you seem upset. You can just leave the wheelchair on the first floor by the elevator." Are you serious!?!!??? I seem upset?? My mother uses 2 canes to walk; my father needs a walker and we had to bring his belongings down with us. Shame on them.
Amazing people! Very accommodating except the receptionist on the phone who is very rude, but everything else very good! Stephanie from surgical department is very nice! My doctor, doctor Shouls is one of the best surgeon she helps me alot and explain everything! For other staff that helps me before and after the surger i did not get your name thank you so much! The old lady whose taking me with wheelchair thank u!!!My life will change now! Thank you surgical department you are awesome and very professional! I am so happy with that you have for me at your department all of you are great! Godbless u!
Waited 15 months for life saving airway being cut off by grossly enlarged left thyroid. My heart was also being pressured by this. Once in care the professionals were awesome: surgery, support, and after surgery care second to none. Airway went back into place, blood pressure and heart rate dropped back to normal. Having to wait 15 months for surgery was and remains a concern.
Talked with east indian male nurse on 4 east yesterday. Sister too ill to receive visitors so I asked nurse to pass on an, "I love you" message to her. I live out of town. He didn't know what I was asking, thought I was coming in for a visit even after I told him she didn't want visitors. Totaly clueless. Why are these people working as nurses. I used to work in Lions Gate 40 years ago and messages were understood and passed on. Not any more. Pathetic.
I was rushed to hospital on Monday the 13th, due to heat exhaustion. The staff was amazing, so friendly, I thank them from the bottom of my heart for literally saving my life.
Absolutely disgusting service. I have private medical insurance I pay for for injuries that are not work related. So if i am off work I am covered. I have a severe sparian and torn ligaments. The doctor asked me to fax the paper work in so it vould be filled out. It wasnt. I go back to have it filled out. The nurses are smiling and when I over heard them in the back laughing saying that will will make me wait along time so I leave. I wait for about 3 hours. As i was already there. So all they have to do is pull thechart and fill out the paper work. I seen other come in with not even close to as bad as my ankle is after me who got in before me. The sick minded nurses in first aid there smiling knowing they are doing this strange and sick behaviour keep walking by me ans putting me underever new patient that came in. I ended ip seeing this going no where after the one nurse\doctor said to me rudely... This is emergency. I said ya and my ankle should have been delt withthe first time i was here and its clearly not better. And then she smiled and walked away. I then left. This is apolling and sick. What kind of nasty mentally disturbed nurse\doctor\human likes to watch people in pain and be happy about it. ... Thats what you get atthis hospital. 0 stars from me.
Good service
Long trip on a hot day, but staff were very nice!!
Fast service!

You are a disgrace for allowing an elderly man to suffer for 3 days waiting for help in your ER. Shame shame and SHAME ON YOU!!! I know you're trying to cull the people but being so blatantly obvious is disgusting.
Waited 2 HOURS for an ultrasound result and the doctor saying to WAIT IT OUT and take Advill to ease the stomachache pain that has been lasting for a WEEK, yet it is getting worse and worse. The pain is still here but I receive no impactful answer to let it go away!
Tells me nothings wrong when there is
Just do not go to this hospital. again do not go. If you love your loved one or yourself avoid this hospital. my worst experience in 30 years.
I went to ER early yesterday morning. I was triaged quickly and efficiently. When I was in the intake area Nurse Ashley kindly found me a room and discussed my symptoms. I found her to be very professional and friendly throughout my stay, particularly as I was struggling emotionally with a family issue. Dr Cassidy saw me shortly after and she was equally professional and thorough with her assesment. You have my utmost respect, and gratitude for your service in these very trying times that we live in. Putting others needs before your own is a beautiful thing. Please pass on my regards to the ER team.
Thanks to all doctors, nurses and other staff for being kind, supportive and knowledgeable specially in Emergency Department.
I came here for an mri last night and had nothing but a great experience and excellent service. I mentioned to the receptionist that I was looking for a new family doctor and when I came out after my mri, she had written down an entire page of medical clinics along with addresses and phone numbers that are allowing new patients! The entire process went smoothly and the staff allowed me to keep a few of my piercings in that I was reluctant to remove. Best hospital service I have had!
Clean friendly fast and accurate
Hard working and professional staff, but the system is broken and very inefficient, they MUST redesign the whole emergency admission operation, this is how it goes now: you go in and you wait 10 min, they take your Service card and they ask you to sit> 20-30 min then they get your information give you wrist band code and they ask you to leave to the next room and wait, and you wait and you wait (while you are in pain and your condition is getting worsen) and after few HOURS you finally get to see a doctor and your tests get started ..... OVERAL the staff is good and hard working, but the system and how it operates is not efficient ( some poor countries have far more efficient systems at same standards. ). here is what I suggest between admitting the patient sending them to a waiting room add a quick doctor visit to assist the patient temporary needs (maybe they just needed few stiches or a wound clean up and can be helped faster and sent home). so much room for improvements, the lions gate hospital management better look into this issue as its been an ongoing inefficiency for few years and its very embarrassing.
So helpful and understanding during such difficult times. Thank you from the McMillans
