You have the feddbacks of real people like you who bought the services of Langley Memorial Hospital (Hospital) in British Columbia (Canada).
Now the business has a rating of 2.4 out of 5 and this rating has been calculated on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that it reaches an reviews average is insufficient, and it is based on a large number of scores, so we can say that the evaluation is very faithful. If there are many people who bothered to leave their opinion when they are satisfied, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to write evaluations when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Hospital is included in the category of General hospital.
Can’t believe in 2019 the system would be so bad. I asked her how long it will be and she just says a few hours like it’s no big deal. Seems like a ridiculous wait time. A dingy emergency room and expensive parking. I don’t understand why it’s ok to charge people to pay to park for basic medical needs. An example of how pathetic our medical system is her in BC.
I've been hear since 250pm. I have a deep 8 inch laceration and puncture the size of a loonie on my leg..no one has even looked at my wound or asked anything about it. I've passed out twice from pain med staff just walk by..not to mention the emergency room has ZERO Covid-19 protocol in affect and has people siting right next to eachother .
Just had our first born baby at the Langley Memorial Hospital. The maternity staff are extremely helpful, warming and make you feel very comfortable. Thanks LMH!
I brought my 2 year old daughter here at 7pm due to a high fever , they had us wait until 11pm only then did they start taking her weight , pulse , temp and BP and the nurses were very rude when asked questions such as can i get some medication if any for my daughter, i was frustrated because i thought children were a priority, i saw them look at 2 other patients with a sore back and some other non-life threatening issue , the staff are heartless , incompassionate people. I cannot believe these people are working in the healthcare sector
When working in health care it is stressful, but when dealing with patients from when they first arrive to when they leave, do your work with compassion. I guess it's a hit and miss at this location.
Literally Worst Hospital might be worth the drive to go to Surrey or White rock. Had to wait for 4 hours just to see the doctor.
This hospital saved my newborn daughters' life, then a few years later saved mine. I owe a huge debt to the staff at Langley Memorial.
To say this place is a disapointment is an understatement. To sit here for hours watching a poor elderly man bleeding from his face, crying for help with no food or water, noone to check up on him and can barely walk around is just sad and outright disgusting. The worst hospital by far. They seem to be great with kids, but no regard for the elderly or middle aged people.... completely disgusting the way they handled his situation and still have done anything for him.... 6 hours later...sick sick sick place.
I had kidney stone and Dr. Archambault did the surgery. Very pleased with his work and nurses who do their best in this pandemic. Only one thing caught my eyes to see the chair in a both where they do blood work, was sanitized only once in the 5 hours that I was there. ☹️
Came in with conjunctivitis. I expected a few hours wait time so the 3/5 score isn't due to that. After getting into a private room I was seen by a nurse who asked me about my situation, and after telling her about my conjuctivitis and briefly mentioning a slight cough, she gave me a mask to breathe through. The medication she gave me through the mask was for my very non-threatening cough, which ended up irritating my lungs so much that I kept a much heavier cough for another two months. I wasn't seen for my conjuctivitis until two hours afterwards. The doctor gave me a sick note for my work for free, which was the highlight of my trip to Langley Memorial Hospital. 2AM to 7AM.
Do not bring your kids here ever, they say they get babies and young kids in faster but they don't. Waited 6 hours for my 5 years old son to get stitches under his eye and was told by my family doctor (who couldn't fit us into his appointments) that he needed to be seen before 6 hours after the insistent or there was not point in getting stitched because the skin is already scabbing and going to cause a big scare anyway. When I asked the triage nurse how much longer and told he what my doctor said she got mad at me and demanded to know who my doctor was and preceded to call my doctor and yell at him for give me bad advice. Who the hell does that. Then when we finally did get to see the emergency doctor, he told us that he doesn't recommend more then a 5 hour time slot, so he put a butterfly bandage on instead of stitching my son. I then told him what the nurse up front did and he didn't believe me. My son now has deep scar under his eye because of this.
Rude from the start. Proudly displayed on the wall is graphs showing that more and more people walk out every month without seeing a doctor while less and less are actually being treated. (Have pics). Over heard the doc telling a patient with a tongue condition that "she should go see a doctor" "-like my dentist?"- "ya, that's fine"....... Sooo you're not a doctor then? Same doc was rude towards us. Couldn't understand difference between thumb and wrist pain. Sent us for wrong X-ray. Cops brought in a crackhead who got faster service than everyone else, including the guy with a huge gash on his knee. Spent well over 4 hours waiting for a 10 sec doctors visit who offered no help, no pain medications and no physical aid like a brace. And then still wanted to charge $25 for a note which is not mandatory but a doctors choice. If I was shot on the doorstep of the Langley hospital I would drive to peace arch, surrey memorial or even VGH before even thinking of getting help from them.
Terrible emergency service here! Every single time I’ve gone to emergency I’ve waited over 10 hours to see a doctor. The nurses here are always grumpy, lack hospitality and compassion towards patients. I brought my son in with a bad cough years ago and the X-ray staff was sleeping at home and we had to wait all night for them to come in at 8am… ever since then I take my kids to the paediatric unit at Surrey Memorial… My mother went in to the emergency room last night because she has a heart condition and she had a horrible chest pain and her arm was asleep. She waited 12 hours to see a doctor… the nurses were not empathetic towards her pain and when the doctor finally came she asked him why he waited 12 hours to see her and he ignored her question. A lot of patients chose to leave and visit a walk in clinic in the morning after waiting all night. I know COVID cases are not an issue of not having a timely service because the emergency center is separate from those Covid patients with separate staffing. If you can’t fully staff or help those in emergency please upgrade or remove the emergency room and ask Fraser health to fund more functional emergency rooms at other hospitals in the area. (Surrey/Abbotsford). The nursing staff is very disrespectful and could use a refresher course on how to treat patients. So disappointed.
Ignorant lady at check in for entering the building, was there for an appointment they called me about because i was in emergency 2 days prior with a poor excuse of a visit then and then go in this morning for the booked time, dealt with ignorance at the door then get to where my scan was and i was going to have to wait a considerable amount of time for something thats booked. Not worth the funding they get from our tax dollars. Better off risking life and limb traveling to another hospital.
Girlfriends mom was having Seizures and they said they couldn’t find a cause and sent her home. Next day her seizures got 10times worse
Had knee surgery last Friday. Very impressed by all the staff. I was worried at first seeing bad reviews and was surprised by the service provided by the nurses and doctors. Not sure about emergency side of things but everything related to my surgery was fantastic!
Nice to see everyone is under the mandatory masks except for the construction workers.
Nice to see everyone is under the mandatory masks except for the construction workers.
One ER nurse on the overnight shift Oct. 15th actually yelled out at me “you are going to have to wait” and she did not bother to look in on me all night....she was extremely rude, immature, and disrespectful. She actually skipped along the hallway to give the impression that she was busy but such behaviour only serve to show how ill-equipped she is for the role of caring for sick people. I am a mental health professional working for over 25 years in my career and I would never treat patients with such disrespect....people go to hospitals because they are unwell and need help, not because they wish to be abused. Compassion and empathy are necessary components of good healthcare delivery and aids in recovery.
I had a sudden onset of excessive vommiting along with chest pain/ stomach spasms, irregular breathing, headache, etc. I began vomiting blood and bile for about 2 hours. Upon getting there and having my blood taken I waited 3.5 hours and went to ask for a time estimate at the desk. All the receptionists/nurses were extremely rude and told me since my blood results were normal I was free to leave, but I hadn't even seen a doctor yet. I asked why I had been vommiting blood and the nurse said I had to wait and see the doctor and was extremely short with me. If I could give this establishment 0 I would. Waste of time and quality of care is extremely low. Better off driving to a different hospital
Had a visit to the emergency room, nurses were calm and friendly. One time someone forgot to inform anybody that all we needed was an IV to be taken out, so we waited an extra 25 minutes before we had to go to the desk again and get someone to notice us and remove the IV. Another time my wife waited 5 hours just to be admitted for a gallbladder attack, she was in excruciating pain.
This is a very troubling hospital. Ive had both good and bad experiences depending what on the staff that are working. I’d highly recommend against going here if you have the chance.
Terrible, but its in the area so I have to use this sjjt
Wow! Impressed! Had Day Surgery March 2 with Dr. Vu. Everyone I came in to contact was pleasant and very profession! Thanks Gang for making a 6 hour visit enjoyable! Also delivered my daughter there 15 years ago and both my kids have been visited the emergency. Thanks for taking great care of us! Cheers!
so bad. broken showers, no toothbrushes, lots of rude nurses.
If you’re going to go to an ER, stay away from Langley memorial hospital. I waited 6 hours today just to have a 5 minute visit with the doctor and get sent home, still in a lot of pain. They gave me pain medication at the hospital, but didn’t send me home with any pain medication prescriptions. I’ve been here many times before too, and the wait times are always ridiculous. It’s an EMERGENCY ROOM. Wait times shouldn’t be this ridiculous.
Diagnosis me with something I do not have, waits are an average 10 hours My mom was fast tracked by her dr. I explained this, her dr was also on the board there, they would not listen. After waiting 6 hours my mom had a stroke in the waiting area
This is the absolute worst hospital I’ve ever laid foot in . Terrible long waits . Stupid government and mandates has made a bunch of doctors quit so extremely short staffed ! I rather die than come to any hospital as they do NOT HELP ! This government and world health organization is corrupt and a huge scam ! This pandemic is planned and satanic !
Literately the worst hospital id say overall, looks like a disaster with the construction happening or not happening. Been doing construction for over a year and barley any progress inside or outside. Staff is average not very personal and or just let things pass with not very much information. Staff told me they would call regarding a individual being released, they never called and gave us no follow up information.
My son spent several days in the CCU before being transferred to Surrey Memorial. I cannot praise the staff at Langley Memorial highly enough. They were hard working, kind, compassionate and endlessly patient trying to answer our questions even if we asked the same desperate questions over and over.
Lovely staff on the maternity ward. Small, free parking, easy to navigate. Pretty good little coffee shop too
What a joke of an ER… wait times were seriously inhumane. Wouldn’t go to this ER even if my life depended on it because chances are, you’ll die waiting to see a doctor. Its called EMERGENCY for a reason! Be quick and efficient! Not rude and painstakingly slow. I get it, triage - life threatening incidents take priority but the staff could really use some more training in being nice and more knowledgeable to the patients that are already in pain! Overall terrible experience.
Hospital is EXTREMELY DIRTY!!! Walls floors chairs every part of it was disgusting.....there was even a puddle of blood right outside the front door and a chair with blood on it. That was my first and last time ill ever go inside that hospital
I just had a hip operation at the hospital. The staff, nurses and doctors were really great. I really felt my needs were attended to and they were genuinely concerned This was my first stay in a hospital, so I didn't know what to expect At each step they ensured to check my identification matched there records.
Emergency wait time is for 10 to 12 hrs minimum
Worst waiting time in emergency!! Two days in a row! I understand each patient is dealt by prioritizing from serious to not so serious, but this was ridiculous! Also, I acknowledge that the emergency area is expected to be chaotic. However, staff is very slow some are rude, not enough attention for people who are coming in for HELP! System needs to be changed for more adequate care and faster service! Not trying to bash anyone but seriously would like to see some positive changes being implemented by those who are incharge for a better flow of medical emergencies!
It's probably faster to become a doctor and treat yourself than to wait in the emergency room of this hospital.
Wonderful maternity nurses and doctors. Yes they're sometimes late, yes they make mistakes, yes miscommunications happen. They do the best they can, they are very caring and compassionate, and I always felt like they were in control, even when things were not going so well with our child. I'm so grateful for these hardworking people.
Worst hospital in the world, my doctor forgot about me and left in my room for six hours. Even told my wife I was discharge and I wasn't. Doctor didn't apologize and said he was to busy
Very poor service and conduct from the staff. My wife had a doctor inject her with something without explaining what it was or anything about it to her, then got upset when we called him out on it and wanted to know what it was. The nurses in Emerg tend to be very cold and careless, and have no problem abandoning people and refusing any information. Its one of the worst hospitals I have been to in terms of patient care and comfort.
There is empty beds ans yet there is a man laying on the floor. Wait time at this hospital is no acceptable. Balling my eyes out because of pain and still have not seen a doctor after 5 hours. Stuck in zone 2 of the waiting room with people puke people drooling on themselves. I will not be coming back to this hospital
Nice to have a doctor when you need even if it takes 4 hours to see him and he can't do anything. Siting on those chairs is brutal. What is worth is a sink in the outside waiting area. Really like to wash my hand. Even without covid. The faces wrong, to pressure wrong the timing worng. And that's when it works. Only was able to get water out 2x, with think waterlines and large pressure and at my writs. Most of it wen on the higher up and on my close. Cloud not get water out of it again. A person went in there to get urine sample, I imagine what mess she was trying to wash off. Before....maybe prepare for usable.
I had an appointment with Dr. Jason Archambault at the Hospital. I found the entire staff ( Dr. & all nurses ) very caring & compassionate, explaining the entire procedure completely. I found my self in very caring, concerned and efficient hands! Thanks to all for the outstanding medical care.
I was dying from alcohol withdrawal and Dr Patricia Lyle saved my life by administering ativan, thiamine and pedylite. I even got some mental health services out of that as well. extra thanks to Dr Patricia Lyle and the woman with the funny goggles. I am now 8 days sober????
Would give 0/5 if I could. Took 3 weeks to misdiagnose a heart condition, told us family member has at most weeks to live then tell us their cardiologist was on holidays all while belittling my family. Never go here, one of my family members very well may not be alive next week thanks to this hospitals NEGLIGENT STAFF.
Our co-worker fell ill. We all signed a "Get well soon" card and wanted to pay her a visit. Lady at the receptionist was very helpful, polite and had a very welcoming tone.
Someone needs to take a serious look into the ER intake staff.
The older nurse at ER treated me like a butcher. She dragged me in the hallway and yelled at me to walk straight when I was almost fainting and had no energy to even open my mouth to say something. I am in healthcare myself and I can tell she absolutely hates her job or is extremely racist. I have never been treated that bad or seen any nurse treating a patient like that in my life...not even in movies.
(0)/5 stars... My fiancee got diagnosed with Lukemia and had to be rushed to the hospital due to severe 10/10 throbbing pain in his legs due to the first starting of his steroids. He was literally screaming and convulsing on the bed. They took us to a hallway first, letting him lay there for half an hour screaming with NO pain relief offered ... Then they took him to a room with an open curtain pointing towards the desk. (He still was screaming and rolling side to side) We waited there for a full hour*with no pain relief* while the nurses walked back and fourth, and laughing amongst themselves over my fiance's screams... Horrific experience, never to be forgotten.
I cannot speak too highly of the quality of care I received from the time I arrived in the emergency room early Monday with abdominal pains until the time I left Wednesday morning minus one gall bladder. All the staff were cheerful and friendly and dedicated to making the stay as quick and painless as possible.
I got a surgery there in the 2nd floor. Mainly I stayed in the recovery room and surgical daycare before and after the surgery. Workers are very friendly and kind. So, at first, I was nervous but it didn't last long by the warm hearts. Thanks to everyone. Now I am getting heathy.
Should be 0/5 stars!!! Tuesday Nov 16th at 4:30. The 1st check in nurse with her hair in a bun, was the rudest person I have ever encountered. She conveniently had her name badge covered with a black jacket. Took my daughter in to get stitches and politely asked how long so that I could notify my work how long I'd be. Only to get a sour faced attitude. These are people that get paid by our hard earned tax dollars. These are public service jobs. If I was her boss she would be out of a job. Big mistake not going to Surrey. I will never make that mistake again!!!! 2 hours later with my daughter bleeding and not even close to get called in from the waiting room. Time to leave and go to Surrey. What a complete disgrace!!!! They need to clean house in the emergency department!
Busy, hard working professionals who get to the point, friendly and patient, safe clean and well advertised information on where your going or need to be. Phone call service to remind you on appointments. Free parking, shoveled, salted walking areas. Clean bathroom, frequently cleaned surfaces. Hospitality offered by employees if feeling cold with a warm blanket.
Excellent treatment. I'm very pleased with the doctors and nurses at this location. Thank you.
NOOOO
Service: Total Hip Replacement. Very well organized, polite, respectful and friendly staff across the board. Overnight stay a little frustrating. English appears to be a second language to many support staff. Speak clear and to the point? No problemo. Just don't expect any conversation.
A bit rough, walls showing broken drywall, cluttered shelves, floor was dirty in places, ER cubicles had a dirty table beside the bed and for a while the nursing station was empty with 3-4 emergency patients in the cubicles?? Otherwise the nurses were pleasant when present.
The staff here, minus certain area of the ER, are kind, attentive and efficient. Doctors take the time to actually listen to patients and don't just leave the patient to suffer. If it wasn't for Langley Memorial my wife would still be I'll but after taking her here after 6 months of agony and peace arch telling her "nothing is wrong just rest and take it easy it's probably a "virus" drink plenty of fluids and eat a light diet"...Go to Langley she was admitted immediately they did a bunch of tests three days later she was in the OR getting her gallbladder removed. Since then she's been fine... Thank you to All the amazing staff at Langley Memorial that cared for my wife and listened. the only reason it's not 5 stars is because there were a few unpleasant nurses in the ER and the construction was annoying.

I almost never write negative reviews, but my experience last week at the Langley Memorial ER was unacceptable. I managed to cut my hand open in the evening, and with all walk in clinics closed, the only option was to go to visit the ER. After I arrived just after 9:30pm and was told it would not take long. close to 7 hours later I was finally admitted just after 4:30AM. During my wait, I witnessed the triage nurses and admin staff act in a rude manor to almost everyone coming through. Let me make it clear, I'm not expecting customer service in an ER. That said, people should still act with human decency. The real issue came with the single bathroom for the entire waiting room. During the more than 6 hours I was there, multiple people, clearly sick, spent long periods of time puking and doing who knows what in the bathroom. During that time, not a single staff member cleaned or sanitized ANYTHING. Not the bathroom, not the admin desks, not the chairs. Now you may think, maybe they were all too busy? Nope, they spent hours chatting each other up. What's worse is when a woman finally asked them if they could clean the washroom after someone could be heard VIOLENTLY throwing up and again they said no. In BC, where there are strict cleaning policies in place, this would not be acceptable ANYWHERE. The fact that this is happening in a hospital where most people entering are potentially sick is ridiculous. I would like to mention that both the ER physician and nurses were incredibly kind and helpful to me and the others once I was admitted. That said, it was clear they were severely understaffed. Even then, I can live with waiting 7 hours. That is part of life, especially when I was there for merely some stitches. That said, the lack of respect for patients or cleaning protocol is a stain on the Canadian public care system.
Sadly short staff, short staff, did I say short staff? Seriously effects quality of care...and can put patients at risk physically, aswell emotionally stress compounded that is detrimental to recovery...not happy
Very much satisfied with my recent visit to radiology department. The staff is very helpful. Doctor Seline did my procedure today with his assistant Sam. I must say both were very professional and kind. Sam explained me whole procedure before starting and helped me overcome my anxiety and fear of pain. Sam made sure that I was comfortable. She took care of me the whole time. I am glad that I chose this hospital over others. Thanks SAM
Worst.ER.Ever. Waiting room had a handful of people, yet triage nurses were so slow!! Eeyore slow. After waiting over an hour, had not even seen the TRIAGE nurse! Others had been there much longer and had not been triaged. Unacceptable. Left for RCH, in half an hour I had had bloodwork and ECG. Go literally anywhere else, you won’t regret it.
nurses in the medical ambulatory daycare where amazing! Kept checking in, gave me blankets and treated me perfectly!
Nice doctors but the wait time is horrendous. I always end up waiting 30-45 minutes passed my actual appointment time.
We’ve had three babies here and each time the nurses and doctors are incredibly warm and supportive. It’s clean and really comfortable and delicious and healthy food options.
Extremely long wait times, awful staff with awful attitudes. Took 4 hours and 12 minutes for them to finally see my pregnant wife who is having stomach pains. At what point do they consider it an emergency? Does she have to have lost our child before it's considered an urgent matter? To top it all off, you're also forced to pay an arm and a leg just to park, maybe even literally because of the ridiculous wait times. Screw this place, never coming back.
don’t come here unless you want to wait 11 hours (emerg). the front staff have no empathy or communication skills. by reading all the reviews I can see I’m not the only one who feels this way. something needs to be done!!
The emerge is god awful. I understand it’s a hard profession but if you can’t have empathy for people and can’t be bothered to act like a human, then you shouldn’t be in it.
Worst Hospital in Canada. Recomend to go to Abbotsford Hospital or Royal Columbian as known by any that have been in Langley Hospital its known to be the equivalent of Suicide being a patient there.
It is very clear, that little care is shown in this hospital in many respects. The maternity desk clerk has apparently become jaded to, and annoyed with, the fact that the endless string of people that come to her desk are in pain and struggling. Her attitude was blunt and unnecessarily coarse. The hygienic conditions are sub standard, likely due to under-paid, under-appreciated, worn-out janitorial staff. Our Hospitals are the places where it is of MOST importance to maintain kindnesses, generosity of spirit, and MOST important, exquisite upkeep on all levels. And this has Nothing to do with funding. This has everything to do with attitude. Though there are a few diamonds in the rough, there should be more caring. I pray for people to awaken to Care.
I had an appointment for an MRI at Langley Memorial Hospital. The new MRI department looks amazing! Best of all, the receptionist was extremely kind and helpful. I like it when people who are there to help you don’t make you feel like an inconvenience. The MRI technician was also friendly. The process was easy and quick. Just as I like it!
Waited atleast 6 hours after a car accident to get looked at and had nothing happen.
Wear a mask, wash your hands, social distance. Be safe.
I was rushed in to this hospital in an ambulance after a car hit me off the road. I couldn't walk, could not even stand on my feet. The pain was intense. Only 4.5 hours later they let me see a doctor. Which raises the question: what is the point of the ambulance? I did 2 follow ups this week and each time it was the same story: you have to wait an average of 5 hours to see a doctor. Are we in India or what?
Terrible! Receiving nurse exhibited no concern or compassion, no eye contact. Emergency room was almost empty and we were practically ignored. Over four hour wait to get an ultrasound, sent home after 1st visit with no resolution or diagnosis. If you need urgent medical attention go somewhere else! Not impressed.
I'm not good with hospitals or needles or blood or anything lol ... I suffer from panic attacks like crazy bad.... I've found myself needing out patient iv therapy for the last 8 days. ... the nurses are amazing ....totally helped me feel calm and didn't freak me out... carrie and Marcie I think the other nurses name was are amazing.... Thank you so much for helping me ...it means the world when your in a state of total panic and don't want to be there .... the iv clinic 3 south rocks! !!
I thought my 10 month old had a skin infection, so I took her in after being unable to get in at a walk in. Described her symptoms to doc, and showed him the red infected looking circular scabs I was concerned about. He said she had just been scratching herself and that her nails we too long. He said it wasnt impetigo because there was no pus (they were a scabby dark red color). Treatment was to cover her in vasaline to help her itchy skin. She didnt need antibiotics. He said we could use polysporin but it wasnt necessary. Anyways I was unsure, because I've never seen scratch marks in a perfect little circle and I had not see her scratching herself at all the days beforehand. This was Friday afternoon, I followed doctors recommendations, cut her nails short and covered her in vasaline after her bath. fast forward to sunday morning, she has 9 + little scabby circles and a rash that is clear will start opening into these scab things. Take her to the walk in, diagnosed as impetigo, prescribed antibiotics otherwise it will keep spreading. Apparently impetigo is very common, And highly infectious......dont know how it was misdiagnosed, when my hubby figured it out with a 5 second google search before we went to the walk in ......
I went to this place with a broken ankle and I was in so much pain it was unbearable. They took an xray and told me that it was broken in a couple places and that the ligaments were torn as well and that surgery was needed to repair my ankle. The surgeon said that he couldn't do it that day but it would be done the next day. The following day they phoned me and said that they couldn't do it that day either! I was not sure what to do about this, I was suffering and nothing was being done. Four days later they phoned me and said they couldn't do it again. I was so upset and angry and I got into a argument with the surgeon over the phone. I was amazed that they put me off again. I took it very personal, why would anyone in the healthcare profession just let me suffer like this for days. The next day I phoned the hospital to be told that I was removed from the " list " . There would be no surgery for me and I was told to go elsewhere. These people are evil and should be fired for what they are doing to patients. I've read many posts about what's going on over there and it's time for a public inquiry into the conduct and treatment of the victims that go there for medical treatment only to be degraded , humiliated , and turned away to suffer and seek help elsewhere. It's of my opinion that the only way to stop this is by the way of a public inquiry, .
I just had a surgery here, the surgery was massive but the nurses are very good and happy and funny and shiny so I never worried and never scared, the night shift nurse Brittany is an angel she helped me a lot and all the time she was smiling, I wish there was a system to thank these lovely people and I wish I could say sorry for all trouble I caused in my recovery process
Super kind and caring nurses at 2 North Surgery. Very impressed! Big thanks to everyone.
We gave it a try even with bad reviews but the reviews are legit. They made us wait for around an hour for the appointment and no one showed up so we decided to walk away.
Langley Hospital good
Horrible experience. Rude staff. Endangered my mother's life several times before finally killing her. What staff they have are too incompetent to manage their work loads. Go to another hospital. The drive will be worth it and could save your life.
I don't like the staff. Unfortunately the hospital is ran by staff.
Waited over 12 hrs in emerg only to have the er dr have the wrong test done and wrong diagnosis Rooms are not clean My room had slp on the side table drawers and the blinds had dried up puke
Receptionist forgot to pass me to the emergency room after a hour waiting. I left to Surrey Hospital instead. By the way, there are not enough doctors, a lot of nurses but just a few doctor for a lot of demanding. Please it's time to make some changes, we will pay many consequences for bad managing of this public hospital.
Everyone at the hospital has been very nice to me, the Nurses and Doctors are very kind and helpful. Yes sometimes they are busy but from what I can see they are always trying their best to make things work smoothly and I appreciate that.
I would suggest going to peace arch or Surrey memorial unless you are in dire need to have your limb sewn back on. Waited 5 hours with an 11 month old baby. Also it is filthy. Absolute neglect and a disgrace that this place exists.
Hospital may be due for renovation, but they have great doctors here.
Cleanliness could be improved as well as the bedside manner of some nurses. But for the most part they are attentive especially the student nurses.
Great care! Had sigmoid colon surgery this September courtesy of Dr. Lord Great nursing staff on the surgical ward Never heard or saw any unprofessional behavior from any staff while there
Took my mother to the emergency room. Emergency is always hard, there not much you can do. We waited maybe for 1-2 hours... she was treated by Dr. Newton, honestly the best service we could ask for... he was kind and patient, CT scam confirmed his diagnostic. She was admitted, we were there for 5 days. Well treated, respected, Dr. Shirley was her surgeon, he was very good. Can't thank them enough.
This is not a review it is a WARNING. The ER wait times at this hospital are simply insane. Avoid it if you can and go to a different hospital. All they did was to made the building prettier. You will go through torture waiting to see a doctor or get a test result back!!!
Waiting time is a ordinary thing here, pray to God to pass away before a doctor would see you. Gezazzzz. 5 hours minimum time, doesn't matter how much blood spills out from your body on their floor.
Poor patients service especially for the emergency department. we used to go to emergency department in Langley since they are faster than surrey. My husband has 8 stetches in his hand now. they have helped him after more than six hours. Are you serious we are dealing with humans three doctors in emergency and none of them can see him while the blood is going from his hand!!!! Plus one of the nurses asked him if he cannot wait he can leave!!!! are you serious we are humans and you have to be careful when someone is in pain and you give him a choice of leaving instead of prioritizing some cases when it is urgent. If he wasn't in need to emergency department he wouldn't go there. Really too disappointed. His three fingers are numbing and he can barely feel them, when calling to double check with the emergency dr at 1:30 am after few hours of the incident non of the emergency department answer the phone. It is an emergency department thank you guys. I wish the ministry can do a good solution for this problem in these departments so that the people can get served properly
We owe it to the Maternity unit for the safe delivery of our baby girl. Dr. Ng had incredible bedside manner and performed a perfect delivery. What truly made our stay good was all of the nurses that took such great care of us while we were there. Everyone was kind, caring and there when we needed. One area for improvement: the food staff. Most times when they’d bring food in for breakfast/lunch/dinner, even though the door was closed when they entered, they’d leave it wide open when we left. Its just common courtesy to close it behind you, especially when mom and baby are sleeping.
First world problem...sitting in Emergency for over 7 hours already and there is no sign of Dr. Apparently 4 other people are ahead and ER Dr is attending another non ER related emergency. I can’t believe they only have 1 dr working in ER. And I’m sure by the I go back to my car there will be a surprise waiting on my windshield
This rating only pertains to the woman (Kathy/Cathy) who was working the main entrance March 8th at approximately 3pm. I have never met met such a rude and obnoxious person in my life. Right from the first moment I walked up. For no apparent reason. I can only hope that my being of Native status did not cause her to judge me so fast and harsh. My father is in this hospital on his deathbed. I have been coming daily and am able to do so at anytime. I said just phone the floor. I was asked to show a bracelet. I said I did not have one. She then said well you need one and I simy said I have not needed one for the last 6 days. They never gave me one. She said you have to ask for one! Very ignorantly I might add. Then starting we have better things to do with our time than phone and check. This has never been an issue. I admittedly ( being grief stricken and stressed to the max already) did lose my cool and said I should drop you right now because you are the rudest bit h I have ever met and you should mot be working here. Someone came our and told her to go away. She then told me to go up to the floor. The funny thing is people actually knew who I was talking about who worked on that hospital and who didn't work there. So I gave to wonder....why is that person still employed there? She should be released from her job and rstire.
I came around 3pm on a Tuesday and had an 11 hour wait time. Majority of the nurses are absolutely heartless here, and if you have any mental health condition or top of your physical concern, good lick getting properly treated or diagnosed. I was misdiagnosed with BPD when I was living with my abusive mother (I just have depression and the psychiatrists and social workers thought I was delusional when I told them about my mother's drug abuse, emotional abuse, neglect ect. so I got this diagnosis). If you're prediagnosed with anything mental, you're veiwed as a threat or not taken seriously. The amount of discrimination in this hospital is disgusting - I was treated better at Peace Arch and Surrey Memorial. Also, the doctors are in and out with no compassion for their patient or willingness to actually listen. I've had entire symptoms disregarded, and when brought up to my family doctor he was worried and found other alarming things. Absolutely useless hospital. Treacherous staff. Useless physicians who only do this for income and don't give a damn about your health. The drive to Peace Arch in Whiterock is so worth it (or Surrey memorial if the case is pediatric).
Three giant stars is for the actual medical professionals at LMH. I went by ambulance into emergency in 2011 after having internal pains and fainting, not knowing what was wrong. The female emergency room nurses were rude, as I waited on a bed in the hallway for a few hours as they helped drunk people and a girl crying from period cramps. I was told ( by different staff, and heard them tell my family ) my pain couldnt be as bad as I made out and was left until the end to be looked at. 8 or more HOURS had passed until I got pain killers and scans to diagnose I eventually had surgery to remove an internal mass the other hospital staff located and THANKYOU to those who were actually there for the right reasons. Its 2019 and I still think about the nasty nurses in the emergency. I hope they have moved on and out of the public services
My husband hand never signed do not resuscitate form. Intern not doctor on case. Not enough attention was paid to his heart condition. I almost died as a patient in the Langley Memorial Hospital. My husband did die. Staff scary. The person that moved my husband from emergency to 4 south swore the whole time. It took a day and a half to get him a bed from emergency and no medical monitoring equipment was ever connected to him in 4 south. Nurse said she left his room to get IV and returned 10 min. later and found him gone. (10 min. ? ? ) Would a monitor have alerted the nursing staff of care being needed ? ?
Me and the wife were helped out tremendously after she had broke her hip, they made us feel right at home
My opinion ... Stay away and go to a different hospital if you can. Every time I go there they screw up something. Just not worth the risks when there's other hospitals that are close. Not saying there's not good people there and some great doctors, but they really need to get their act in order when dealing with people's health, and lives. I am very disappointed.
Turned me away after waiting 4 hours in the ER with an ear ache and probable middle ear infection + chills + fatigue. After waiting, they said that I'd move to the ENT room and it might take a while, which I didn't mind since I've been there for over 3 hours at that point as I was prepared for. But then some EMT/Paramedic guy came in and basically downplayed and said he didn't feel a bump behind my ear, but then admitted it after I told him where it was. But he discharged me anyways with virtually no real help or further examination. No help whatsoever and now I'm just hoping my middle ear infection doesn't get worse, hoping it isn't bacterial while I wait 2 more weeks for my regular doctor appointment. I basically got kicked out, told to goto non-existent walk in clinics when there are none during Covid-19. Avoid Langley Memorial folks, goto Vancouver if you have to. Mount Saint Joseph is pretty good. The hospitals in the Fraser Valley are disturbingly bad and understaffed.
Great place, 5 stars
Horrible Service. Horrible environment. Horrible staff. Stay home and stay on pain but do not visit this hospital. They make you not better but worse.
Be prepared to wait 8 hours in emergency (no matter what's wrong with you!) and fight for a place to sit down in the waiting room because they only have one doctor on at night.
The maternity clinic is wonderful!!! They really offered so much support and kindness. They welcome you and questions. Allow you to decide when your ready to go. Big thank you ladies and Dr Love xo From Izabella born Dec 7th/ 18 and mom ;)
Worst hospital of lower mainland. Please don’t come here if you have any other options. After waiting for 5 hours they turned my brother home saying that his condition doesn’t seem to be as of emergency. I just want to ask you gets to define “ a persons level of pain” what is the definition of emergency. If someone feels they can’t bear the pain they go to emergency. The doctor was so rude and said “ I don’t understand why you came to emergency you look fine to me” Very rude doctor. I think it was doctor Mackenzie.????????????
The worst experience ever in the emergency room. the wait time is horrible, exceeded 12 hours for somebody with Acute pain. poor service and minimal intervention. the doctors send you private billing if you are visiting from different province.
No covid protocols no social distant and over a 8 hrs wait
Worst hospital ever dont recommend anyone going to emergency there doctors are useless so are the nurses better off driving to surrey or new west if your care about your love ones dont take them to this hospital very low standard im very surprised people even go there
Still the worst hospital around, staff are rude. You complain, and no one cares. I have made legitimate complaints, and have had anyone contact me or apologize for the way I was treated. Always heavy sighs from the front desk reception. Goto Surrey Hospital it's safer
We had to go to Langley Memorial Hospital due to a medical crisis with my spouse. It was a very tramatic event for us and we both can't say enough about the staff at the Emergency room at Langley Memorial. The doctor we saw (Dr. Anthony) was AMAZING! He was very personable, jovial with great bedside manner. He made us feel reassured and confident despite the fact that we were going through a very tough time. He was professional and courteous and had a fantastic bedside manner. The nurses that looked after us when we were first admitted and throughout the whole process (Male nurse Chris and Female nurse Hillary) were also AMAZING. They both were super compassionate, attentive, answered all of our questions and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and cared for in our time of need. The admissions people in the ER entrance were also kind and attentive. I understand that people get annoyed when they wait hours to see a doctor but if you just take a step back and recognize that 1. you will always be seen by a physician and 2. this service is FREE and 3. these doctors are swamped from morning until night with patients many of them unnecessary patients perhaps it will give you some perspective. Despite the demands on these staff members day in and day out they still managed to make us feel reassured and cared for and they had a direct impact on how we dealt with our situation and how it will be remembered by us forever. We can't say enough about this ER and the doctors and nurses that make it great. Please keep up the good work and remember that you may hear negative far more often than positive as is human nature but you are making a difference for individuals like us.
The staff are great they really are, the food is so bad and I not joking. Just because it's a hospital doesn't mean the food needs to be that bad, who ever prepares it have some pride in your work, whoever is reheating again have some pride. I invite the fraser health board to eat this bad food for a weekend, you people send flyer with every meal saying food is important for your recovery, if this is true make the food pallet able. You are bringing down a good hospital with disgraceful food.
Came in for Iv therapy... NOV 4TH 2021 Came to Patient Registration Waiting to register and a Registration clerk calls me to register. She asks my last name ... I give it to her she rudley ask me again my last name I say it little louder ... again she can't hear me ... im in pain standing and she's rude ... angry looking face ... I told her to listen more carefully once we get past my last name then the first name ...I guess I'm not loud enough for her We have a few words back and fourth ... then I show her my band ... she tells me she can't touch it. Everyone eles didn't have a problem after to touch me Or my band. She just had to sanitize . Once she she finished she said that she woukd send my papers upstairs to iv therapy and refused to give them to me. Very childishish on her part ... i told her I was going to report her she told me to go ahead. Once I got up to iv therapy they told me I had to register at emergency from now on. Michelle is the person that I had to deal with. My first contact into the hospital on a Thursday morning in pain and feeling overwhelmed stressed and much more. She was rude and just so unprofessional.sge needs a talking to. If she's not hapoywith her job then don't work here. Witnessed yesterday her be rude to another woman I work with difficult people each day and would've treat anyone like that Michelle get a new job
the list is long... 1) Put on wrong diet for 8 days 2) served breakfast day of a colonoscopy(big mistake 3) Light in washroom one was out for entire stau 4) locks in washroom two did not work( my wife made up a sign on carboard and taped it on door saying occupied....for entire 8 days 5) Buzzer to alert nurses did not work 6) Hospital failed to provide a discharge package which i found out 3 days later had a prescription....how did i find out.....her family doctor asked her how the prescription was working....they get copies....family doctor covered for hospital 7) my wife spent over an hour cleaning the washroom....was in mixed ward....do i need to say why? I sent this list to the comment section of Fraser Health.....Got a letter from a person who asked how could she assist my wife....i wrote back to send copies of this list to the entire board of directors...and dont ask the patients who are sick to fill out more forms....they just have to send a adminstrator too 2 south and interview the dieitcian, the Maintenance person and the Dr who discharged without giving her the prescription...instead they ask someone who is 75 years old who has been diagnosed with bleeding ulcers to fill out paperwork....Can you believe the question....How can i help your wife!.....If you received the list would you not start a investigation today
Was too busy entertaining hypochondriacs and some guy with a broken finger at the ER to assist somebody who needed their stomach pumped. Nurse was rude and unsympathetic. Go to Surrey if you have an emergency.
For those that are in desperate need of medical care and their medical condition is emergent, emergency is where you should be. Yes pain is intolerable at times, but there are those that are in critical care behind the doors that no one sees. I have learnt in my experience in going to the ER in BC, if your waiting hours to see a doctor, chances are a)your life is not in danger b)the condition can probably wait to be seen by the family doctor or a walk in clinic. The ER is NOT a walk in clinic, if you chose to come in for something minuscule then be prepared to wait. I brought my grandmother is with excruciating chest pains, they ordered the correct tests and she was taken care of. It was not in a timely manner, the wait was definitely a good few hours considering the increase of population in Langley, however the nurses and physicians did take care of her very well. She was then transferred to RCH for a cardiac procedure. Nurses and clerks do need to have their phones out in case of an emergency or a shift offer. Paying 1100 dollars for a non-insured resident is pretty cheap when you compare it to some of the other countries in the world ( United States, Australia, UK) its pretty standard HOWEVER, atleast in BC it is ILLEGAL to deny care to anyone even if the patient cannot pay - which is not the case in other countries. If you don't have your provincial ID or health card with you, be prepared to get a bill in the mail - you will not have to pay it, however you will have to contact your province's ministry of health to figure out the logistics. It's like driving, you wouldn't drive around without a license, so why would you travel without your insurance card? Thank you to all the nurses, docs, technicians for helping out the public when in need. Its very rare nowadays to find some positive reinforcement and gratitude.
Went to see a friend of mine who had had a stroke. I was quite concerned and hurried to the hospital to see how he was. The machine in the parking lot refused my credit card, and since I had no change, I went into the hospital to see if I could acquire some. Couldn't get any change so I went back to my vehicle, phoned my friend at the hospital and his wife informed me that he was stable. Unbeknownst to me, I apparently had a ticket in that short space of time although none was on my windshield. Imagine my surprise when I received notice in the mail that I now owed $80.00 as a parking fine. For this hospital there should be a minus star rating.
My acl surgery was not done right. Also I have spent over 6 hours in emergency more times than I’d like to admit. Extremely slow.
Came in after a bad fall while pregnant. Didnt get seen for 5 1/2 hours. Patient with a sore toe got in and out with xrays and prescription before I was seen. Good Dr though.
If you need to go to an emergency at a hospital i strongly recommend not going here. Langley is severely understaffed and cannot tend to patients at a normal rate. They remade the emerg unit just to have more waiting rooms. I waited 7 hours there for shortness of breath. The only reason it gets 2 stars is my doctor was very good, once i finally got to see him.
I just had full hip replacement at langley Hospital (and I have had two deliveries there) I was very impressed with the organization of the process I had to go through. Each department knew what the other was doing. I did not like being woken up in the early am to give blood but I understand it needs to happen to keep on top of my recovery. Every nurse or support person I interacted with was amazing. I can't say enough about my positive experience with the Langley Hospital. Especially Doctor W Brown and Doctor A Chan.
Waiting for 4 hours has always have been bad at emergency and sitting for those who can't sit even worse. What got me upset 2 days ago is the washroom sink. The person who installed it and signed off on it, should be made to use it every singe day! Managed to get water out it 2 times. For 5 sec. each then nothing. Even that water is spraying on my wrist and clothes and floor. The water pressure is too high, spitting out on 5 holes (no doubt water saving measures) to the wrong place, when it works. The lady going in after me with an empty sample bottle no either had good aim or cursed the facility like me. Before building a new extension, perhaps make the current acceptable
Very average and historical is a bit outdated. Big doctors are okay.
A quick note to say a big Thank you to all the staff who helped me with my day surgery with Dr. M. G. Maharaj on April 9, 2021. I must admit I have always been very nervous about going into a hospital and unfortunately on this day I was very hard of hearing. The staff were very professional and explained to me in a caring manner what steps were coming next which lessened my worries a lot.
At the end of the day they are more obsessed with legality’s then the patients well being. Initially they present themselves as caring and thoughtful but when difficult cases arise they choose to toss the patient to the curb (literally) rather then spending time and resources. There seems to be a underlying philosophy that states “if no diagnosis can be established in a prescribed time period move on”. There is still a turn and burn attitude in the system. If this is universal health care then it is a failure. Shame on all associated with this fraud.
Room was never cleaned in 14 days. Patients left in own urine for hours. Patients left without underwear or covered up . Some staff should be working in laundry room not with actual human beings. The lack of empathy and dignity was absolutely scary. I was shocked how bad it was !
I went to maternity clinic dr david b.chapman very nice and well educated doctor .he explain me all the tests and my reports with patience and good way .god bless him thanx again
After 8 hours in the ER my blood sugar was starting to crash. I decided if I went home I could take a painkiller, eat, and die in my own bed. After all, if they thought everyone else who came in was more important than me, they couldn't think much was wrong. An elderly woman in a bed across from me (I never got a bed, I was still sitting in a chair) had called the nurse to say she had to go to the bathroom. Half an hour later I told another nurse that she still wasn't being cared for. Another fifteen minutes later someone came to say they'd get her a commode. About twenty minutes later, when I finally decided to leave, she still hadn't been taken care of.
One of the nurse's slammed my newborn into the carseat so hard even when they shouldve been gentle with his swollen head he started to scream in pain. She was unapologetic and rough with him the entire time I till this day get so angry thinking about not having spoken up. But I was still in tremendous pain after 4 days I still couldnt stand and walk and I kept asking if this was even normal, they sent me home. week and a half goes by I still was not able to sleep because now not only could i not walk but i couldn't sit or lay down in any position as the pain had just spread. I went to the hospital on christmas day and they couldn't understand what was wrong just told me to continue taking advil or tylenol. Taking my moms advice another 4 days passed and I just couldnt breastfeed my newborn as I was in so much pain I went to a walk in clinic in desperation who gave me some antibiotics which finally started to help but I couldn't breastfeed for a month. After this I just wasn't able to go back to even trying to breastfeed my baby. 5 months of recovery and still suffering. I absolutely hate this hospital and regret coming here. DO NOT DELIVER HERE! Now I'm afraid of going through this ordeal for my next one. I even called to ask who I should email for my complaint and received no response.
DO NOT GO TO THIS ER EVER!!!! The wait time is cruel. Since it was a Sunday and all the walk in clinics closer to me were closed, I decided to go to this hospital. This is my first time in a hospital in Canada and I had to wait more than 4 hours. When you ask the triage nurses when will you see the doctor they keep saying they don't know. People who came in after me all got to see the doctor before me and left. My pain worsened to a point where I had to walk out with no help at all. I'd rather try a walk in clinic. What's funny is that public hospitals like this one from a less privileged country is super clean and you get to see the doctor so quickly, the ER never has a waiting time, hell it don't even have a waiting area. I thought Canada was supposed to be better and with more efficient staff. I will never come back here neither will I recommend anyone to go there.
Excellent care from both the doctors, nurses, therapists and support staff. My family member was admitted in April and through the efforts of the entire team, was able to return home. Thank you
Our doctor went to help another patient (emergency situation) in the middle of checking me. We absolutely understand that takes precedent but as we were sitting there for awhile, my mom asked the nurse if he was coming back. She said if you want to go you can leave if we want. We were just asking if we should wait in case he forgot about us. We already waited in 2 waiting rooms. Her lack of people skills and attitude shows that she does not care. The worst part was that she was gossiping to her male colleague and we can hear everything as it's just curtains separating us. She was complaining/gossiping about some patients, she's a "nurse", breaks (your gossiping on the job), how someone is not her patient and asking questions like what tubed they used on the patient, how other people were just standing there and how they're going to bring it up to the next meeting. We do not want to hear that when people are sick and in pain. I'm describing you, she is an East Indian lady mid 40s - 50ish with glasses working the night shift at 3 AM Feb 22nd. The hospital is not paying for you to gossip while getting paid and your unspeakably rude.
If I could give this hospital 0 stars I would. Called an ambulance due to severe stomach pain, when they took me In they made me wait in the waiting room screaming and crying in pain, while everyone got to look at me. Then they moved me into a room furthest away from the nursing desk so they “wouldn’t be able to hear me”. After about 3 hours I finally got some pain management and was admitted. The nurses in the ER were absolutely horrible told me things like “be quiet” “stop crying” “you’re not in that much pain” after 2 days of that I got moved to the 2nd floor North Surgery. Britt, Holly, and Faith were the most amazing nurses I’ve ever had and that’s why I’m letting the 1 star have it. However the Female dr. On the second floor is horrible first she tells me im in there due to stress and exhaustion and I need to leave work for 2 weeks. I told her I already left my job that was causing stress. She then proceeded to question “what I will be doing for work and how I’ll be making money” which didn’t help my stress level at all. She also discharged me even thought I hadn’t eaten or kept anything down for 5 days. Definitely will never be coming back here ever again.
nurses should not be joking about covid and coughing and laughing about having it not cool and very unprofessional!
*JUST THE EMERGE* If I could give them NO stars I would. My mom has Multple Myeloma cancer and has a special red card that bypasses any wait times in emerge due to her compromised immune system. Sunday my mom was brought to Langley Memorial Hospital Emerge due to some health complications we were concerned about. We presented the card that has allowed us entry immediately at every other hospital, except Langley. THEY MADE MY MOM WAIT 6+ HOURS IN EMERGE. We were going to leave 2 hours in but they reassured us she would be seen soon. Once seen we found out my mom had a fever of 39 and pneumonia. This is completely and utterly IRRESPONSIBLE of the nurses and attendants. If my mom contracted some sort of illness WAITING...I will hold to hospital responsible for any problems she has.
No words can say how horrified i am to have to wait over 5 hours for my sons head to be stitched up. Just awful. I would be better off driving up to another hospital. Horrific experience
This ER is beyond ridiculous, I understand the importance of triage but the wait times and how the staff communicates with the patients is beyond baffling. No compassion when people are in excruciating pain and waiting for hours? Why did you want to help people in the first place. I'd rather drive hours and see someone sooner than waiting 6-8 just. No compassion at this hospital not one bit!
It's a small town hospital with no or little equipment. The staff try their best but I think that some staff are here because they weren't good enough for the other hospitals in the health authority. I've learned that this is a community hospital so they don't have the equipment like the other hospitals in the region. They have just got an MRI machine so they are coming into the 20th century.
Front desk staff is extremely rude. I had a very difficult delivery with my daughter and am trying to get ahold of my records. I called asking for help and how I can obtain them and I believe Marni? was “helping” me. Basically implied she didn’t have time to help me and was very busy because she was the only one working. She said where I could get them (didn’t have a pen or paper) so asked if she could repeat it and repeated it in a very rude tone. I have already been through enough and am still struggling to still process what I went through and feel like I was completely forgotten about and fell through the cracks and now when I call asking for help I get a grumpy old lady basically telling me my call isn’t important to her. I am just so sad and unbelievably hurt with the Langley Maternity Clinic. I will never be back.
I could choose negative star if there’s the option. Endless waiting, ended with a know nothing, rude doctor. Careless about you, just let you waiting in the room for three hours! Showed up few times for few minutes for harsh treatment. Eventually I was told to go to pharmacy for medicine. He almost did nothing in 3 hrs. bad temper bad attitude. Most importantly I got the prescription without medicine names on it!!!
Don't bring your family member here if there is any other place. Especially if they are elderly. They will do the surgery, then no rehab. Drugs and sleep. Insist on staying with them or they most likely will be left. There were a couple good people. Understaffed. One physio for 15 patients so the elderly ones get nothing.
Experience while in the hospital was great. One of my best girlfriends was having a baby; and the hospital staff was kind and helpful to us.....We stayed awhile in the delivery room.....saw birth and stayed with friend.....Despite going out several times and putting my credit card in their silly machines (numerous times) I was welcomed back to my vehicle with a ticket violation....(Gee thanks) and I am sure my friend and her boyfriend along with their new born were welcomed with a ticket violation......Ah well; at least no one died.....hate to see someone who has someone who passed away in the hospital and end up getting a ticket.....They should remove those machines and either have a ticket guy there and pay on your way out, or give us free parking
Worst experience if my life rude staff rude nurses useless will never ever come back here and I'll be putting in a complaint these nurses are disgusting the way they have treated every last person in here if I could 0 STARS I would AVOID LANGLEY MEMORIAL AT ALL COST
The care and attention have been excellent. Yes, there can be waits, but once the wait is over they have been excellent. Remember - there is triage and the most serious cases always have priority. That's just the way it is. If your need us less serious, maybe wait and go to a walk-in clinic. Otherwise, the wait is worth while in the end.
Recently I underwent a surgery at Langley Memorial Hospital and am so grateful for the excellent care that I received from all the staff. From the surgeon, Dr Maharaj, to Dr Leung (the Anesthesiologist) along with all the nurses that cared for me, ...I couldn't help but notice your hard work, attention to detail, and professionalism. As a whole, you seamlessly worked together as a team, and made me feel so comfortable while I was there. ) Thank you for Excellent Care! Caroline R.
Worst experience ever nurses are rude not to just me but to elderly patients which is just wrong... heard one nurse make a rude comment about me... been sitting here to see the dr for 7 hours now still nothing .... you ask any question and they just shrug you off ... I would never recomend coming here to any one.. not to mention I ended up helping a elderly lady in pain cause the nurse kept telling her wait wait wait...
Dirty ER bad treatment waited 3 hours for my child nobody cared than left to Surrey m.hospital ER they said u should have came 5 hours ago cuz your child alomst stopped breathing
6 hours and still waiting to be seen, yet there are hardly any patients in the reception, unbelievable
Dr. Fariba Mohtashami delivered my baby here. I was supposed to deliver at Peace Arch but they were full. So we came to Langley. She was great, very calm, content and acknowledging. She made me feel at ease during my first delivery! Thank you Dr!
This hospital is a real travesty as it is a leading reason why the health care system in the Fraser valley is so dubious as the ratings suggest. This place cared for my aunt at the end of her days. Cared is being kind imo. They were wholly incompetent with many aspects of her care which may have lead to an expedited mortality. There is something very wrong about a health care system that has as many pending class action lawsuits suing this institution. Add another one to the list. My aunts final days were dispensed with our dignity and competency. I’m so appalled with how someone like my aunt was given an undignified level of care for her last days such that my family and I have witnessed for her.
Every time I've personally ever been here its always been a disappointing experience and the place is unhygienic. The room where I was directed for blood tests had paint literally peeling off the walls accompanied by dirty smudged finger/hand prints. The garbage scattered across the floor didn't help either. The last straw was definitely when the nurses sent my mom home with an aircast and failed to even show her how to even use it. She had to YouTube it when she got home. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.
Waiting room wait was brutal. Great doctor I had tho
Was lied to and told my drivers license was suspended for a seizure I never had. Was committed for 8 days and still could not get a referral to Langley mental health. Released before I ever had a neurological assessment, and they refused to document my injuries upon apprehension. I broke my finger, fractured my skull and tore my bicep. Thanks docs!
Everything was good except the nurse with the name DEEPTI. She tried to find the vein for the canula insertion and she probably hit the bone and my mom was yelling and she was rude and didnt even stop. My mom has a great pain threshold and she only shouts on extremely severe pain The hospital should not hire such bad nurses like DEEPTI who was posted in south blue zone on night duty on 12 july 2021 She is rude, and should start respecting patients as well Rest everything was good about the hospital
This is the nicest place, the staffs is so friendly and kind but wait a little too long☹️☹️
My girlfriend was having extreme stomach pain in the region of her appendix, called 811, they said to go to the hospital right away. She was told that she may need an emergency appendectomy. Then they left her alone in a private room for hours, she tried pressing the call button, nobody came for a long time, nobody answered the phone when she called the front desk. Her symptoms were getting worse by the minute and she ended up having to walk all the way to the front desk to get help after she was told to not move at all. When she finally did get some help, the doctor ignored all previous information, took a vaginal swab and told her to go home. This is borderline negligent and of all the times I've been to langley memorial, all the times my friends and family have been, not one of us have one single story about this hospital that isn't negative. Not even a neutral story.
PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOSPITAL!!!! I had a fracture and my ankle was out the socket. The ER doctor said nothing was wrong with me even with my ankle doubled in size from swelling. I got a second opinion and the other doctor could see my fracture and misplaced bone right away. I had to listen to 4 paramedics ridicule a patient. All 4 took turns making fun of her. Extremely disgusting and unprofessional behaviour.
Okay yes, long lines, yes people can be grumpy but it is a symptom of the bigger problem.... a problem with our health care. I was in on Jan 31st and thanks to a lack of clinics open the ER was packed. Luckily I got there at 8am and there was only 4 people ahead of me. I waited 3 hours and in that 3 hours over 40 people came in due to the fact the clinics that were open were lined out the door and there was no guarantee they would be seen so off the the ER they were forced to go. The nurses are doing the best they can with what they have. They were kind enough but you could see they were on edge from hours of abuse from sick people who are frustrated and taking it out on them. The doctors were great but over worked. Desperately trying to find the balance of doing a good job and being quick enough to get through the long line of people who need help. At the end of the day the doctors, nurses and staff are doing every thing they can to help. They need more staff, more beds, more more more... and it is something they cannot fix without significant help.... so I am giving 5 stars because as far as hospitals go we got in, we were seen and we got the medication I needed for my toddler. Was it a long wait, hell yes it was. But the staff was friendly and treated me with the same respect I treated them.... you get what you give.
How exactly do you loose a body?
Had the best hospital ER experience here, and I've been to a few before. All the staff were very kind and attentive. The hospital itself is very clean and comfortable. I was seen within 3 hours and given immediate relief for my ear infection and prescribed appropriate medication. The doctor listened to my concerns and made sure to address them without any sort of annoyance or hurry. Thank you Dr. Naylor and all the staff at Langley Memorial!

Today I had a appointment for HSG(x-ray). This is was my first visit to Langley Memorial Hospital. The Nurse (SAM) was so friendly she was courteous, concerned and professional, she explained me the steps before the procedure. SAM was holding my hand during the procedure since i requested her because I was bit nervous. A special thanks Dr. Verse she is so kind and both of them made my visit so comfortable. Doctors and Nurses do really care:) I had a wonderful experience
Professional yet generous and thoughtful towards the needs of others hands down the best group of doctors and nurses I have ever had my arm put back in its socket by. I cannot describe my gratitude
I went to there after MVA and they make me wait for 3h.. after that they told us how long we have to wait more?? Receptionist told me at least couple more gore I don’t know ... they also very rude!! Wait for more than 6h?? What the point for emergency? Seems like they don’t care about ppl who need help! NEVER go there waste my time drive other hospital is better option.
Horrifyingly unclean, rundown, understaffed, under-equipped and lots of critiques of attending physicians by patients and external medical people alike. If you come to emergency you may wait in the hall for hours to days. A friend waited a day and a half seated in the hall with a gall bladder attack, for surgery. This should be your last choice if you ever have to go to the hospital. Many patients leave sicker than when they went in. Parking is exorbitant. The only redeeming feature is that the hospice across the street is amazing!
I would never, ever allow my loved ones to stay in this hospital. Place is pretty bad, paint peeling, miserable nurses, not the greatest care. My aunt was terminally ill here a few months ago, she was not taken care of properly, with the exception of one male night nurse. Brandon was a godsend. I asked all day why my aunt had dried blood all around her mouth, was told she must have bit inside her mouth. Well duh. They would just walk away and not do anything. I was in too much shock to think clearly and demand someone to clean her mouth. Brandon came on and I pointed it out to him and I went to grab a drink. I came back and he was gently and carefully using a lollipop type wet sponge to clean her mouth up. He also took time to talk to me about how she had been and how much he cared about her state and was glad that family had finally been properly contacted. They weren't administering proper pain care and she was in a lot of pain for a few days until we were notified and got involved. Lots of confusion and lack of effort on their part. Found out later that they had the proper info and STILL didn't get her pain management underway until we pushed. I just called today to confirm the floor, name and address to send a thank you card to Brandon and was very rudely told by one of the 4 South floor to call back in 20 mins because she was in the middle of doing a report?? It wasn't just what she said but also how she said it. So dismissive and bothered. Then she just dropped the phone, without saying anything. I thought she loudly hung up on me after I repeated what she said as a question back and said "umm it's just your address I need.". But then I could still hear noises and so I kept asking "hello?". She came back on after a minute and quickly gave me the address. What ever happened to common decency?
This is a hospital? One of the worst patient care in the Fraser Valley. 80% of their staff have lost their compassion
Came to ER with Severe dehydration. Took 6.5 hours to get an iv. There were no beds. I was put in a closet with an uncomfortable chair. I requested something to lay on, but fell on empty ears. It took 3 hours to get 1 cup of water, I asked about 12 people passing by. Had to lay on the floor
I have been left traumatized after leaving Langley Memorial. I went into today with severe pain due to a kidney stone and an infection. The triage nurse hardly said anything to me and got up mid screening and passed me a pee sample. - didn't even tell me what to do. when I finally got to my zone, the pain was horrific - worst pain I have ever felt in my life. I was left crippled, crying hard on the ground. No one came over to me and asked me if I was okay, just left me on the cold floor. I could not take the pain anymore so I managed to get myself up and pleaded to a nurse behind the counter (younger male with tattoos). He told me there was nothing he could do, didn't bat an eye. I could not beleive this treatment as I was literally begging for help. After 3 hours of laying on the ground in crushing pain I was taken to a room. waited another hour to get pain meds. This was inhumane and I am actually really messed up from this experience. I am a psych nurse and I understand the current demand on the health care system but never would I treat anyone they way I was treated today. I am so disgusted. If you are in actute pain, do not come to this hosptial
This emergence department is so much worst it's waiting time is 6 hours still no result is coming. I have not to much pain in my Tommy after waiting long hours my pain is go worst even I can't sit .but still doctor said you just wait 6 hours other people wait more than that. I am not coming next time its not hospital it's mental torture.
Today I took my son there . He started to feel better, so I went back to reception to tell them we are leaving....ONLY, there was no one there. The receptionist decided to go and have social hour talking to one of the triage nurses. I could see here just chatting away? Meanwhile, I am waiting and waiting for her to return. What is with people in the workforce these days? Chatting during work, on their phones. I know these people are probably union, so reprehend will be done. I hate LMH. They are too small for the city. They need to expand their ER or open another hospital or stop closing walk in clinics at 3. Broken system
Horrible triage nurses. Horrible staff. Horrible wait times. Horrible healthcare system altogether. ***UPDATE*** When we finally made it in the back the doctor was great. Spent tons of time with us and made us feel way better about our five hour ordeal. His name was Dr. George S??????(don't know how to spell the last name).
I took a puck in the mouth at hockey which put my bottom teeth through my bottom lip. My mouth was busted up pretty bad but I was extremely lucky. That night as the doctor that would be stitching my mouth left the room to see another paitent while waiting for my mouth to freeze, I got talking to the nurse that was with me and she told me the doctor used to be a plastic surgeon and was only working in ER because he loved his work. The doctor did an absolute miracle in stitching my bottom lip and both him and the nurse were super friendly and helpful. People can't even notice I once had a hole let alone 16 stitches in my bottom lip. I feel very fortunate that I had him for a doctor that night. Wish I could thank him again.
Terrible disgusting and old hospital and terrible service provided. I got kicked out of a bed because they wanted to give it to another patient and I ended up laying on the floor in pain and I got called off for laying there. And my 14 month old daughter, who was also sick like me, didnt get checked by the doctor for over 6 hours simply because they "forgot" about her. Also the nurses there are rude and aggressive, except for this one in particular who's name I cannot remember. I also wasnt getting treated fairly and respectfully.. such impatient nurses and doctors. On top of that, later that day I went to see my family doctor and was surprised that they didnt do certain tests. Turns out i was internally bleeding but these staff just assumed that nothing was wrong.
I was brought in by ambulance and waited 10 hours to see a doctor. Had to go back the next day and waited another 7.5 hours. Absolutely a joke and borderline human torture to make someone sit in those god awful chairs that long while in excruciating pain. Also not being allowed to drink or eat anything the whole time.
I received a complete knee replacement September 21st 2021. I found the pre surgery procedural staff efficient . Throughout the operation day ,the overnight care and release I felt confidence in the Orthopedic experienced staff. I am recovering well at home and have had my first Physiotherapy appointment -which impressed me as well. Overall in today’s difficult health care environment I feel I have received good care from a great team .
Stay away from this hospital at all costs. My wife was forced to go to this hospital as it was the closest to where she was at the time, they brought her in an ambulance, because of migraines, and a possible brain aneurysm. They didn’t hook her up to anything to monitor her, and they pulled her off the bed because, and I quote “you don’t need a bed because we say so, and we’re moving you to a recliner chair” I was on the phone with my wife doing a video call because of Covid restrictions, and I could hear the nurses and other employees laughing and not attending to my wife in anyway except to remove her from where she lay.... This is disgusting and inhuman. No care, no consideration from any of the employees at this hospital.
Excellent care for all my family when we've needed it. The wait time for the E/R is ridiculously long - partly caused by people coming to the hospital with minor ailments that should go to a walk-in clinic. Maternity has great care and my 94 year-old aunt has received very compassionate care (on the most part) from the E/R and ward nurses. We desperately need a new E/R in Langley! So glad it is finally in the works.
The staff are incredibly rude. As someone going in with the patient, they treated me as if I was a parasite in the way. Didn’t speak to me while I was by my partners side. The triage nurse was rude. All the nurses were rude. I’ve never had a very good experience at this hospital and try to go to a different one if I can.
It's a hospital, let's put it this way. People work long hours and mistakes happen. I've had some bad experiences here, but if you catch them at the right time you'll get much faster and likely better service. I was so blown away at how great everyone was. The Doctor was extremely attentive, caring and listened to me with respect. If you come in, with a good attitude it really pays off. Not just in Hospitals but everywhere else. I was in severe pain, no i didn't ask for pain killers and i don't want that day to come but i got something perfect for my situation which helped me immensely. Best of luck, don't hesitate to come to the ER if you're in pain or having SERIOUS problems. It feels so good to have my health back.
Nurses were quick and helpful, X-ray technicians were great and the doctor was very pleasant.
No one in emergency when I arrived, still waiting to see a doctor 4 hours later.
Horrible service triages don’t care currently in er with a potentialy broken ankle asked long wait is reply I’m busy 4 hours in er haven’t heard anything staff is horrible very rude I am never coming back people that have been here for ten minutes go before and the people I see go in don’t come out till 2 hours
Majority of the front staff you first approach in emergency are soo rude. One lady today about 4 patients to stop bugging her and go sit down. "You are not going to die" and "you are at the bottom of my list, there are people in more need of attention", those were her exact words. We waited 7 hours for IV antibiotics. I wouldn't recommend this hospital to anyone in the future. Your better off traveling to White rock or Surrey.
7 hour wait ... then they took me to a second waiting area ... so i just left! I had my pregnant wife and 1 year old son there for 7 hours with me. It was a nightmare... crossed my fingers that I'd be fine through the night and went to my family doctor in the morning. Completely useless!
The nurses and doctors were very nice people but the hygiene is very bad, to the point where my wife who had a C-Section got infected by bacteria that you can only get in hospitals. And even better, not only one, but two bacteria (both you typically only get it in hospitals). I know it’s hard to keep it clean since there’s lots of people working and people coming in and out everyday but I’m pretty shocked that my wife came back ill with two illnesses that you can only get in hospitals, knowing we are in a pandemic with COVID19; you would think they would keep the hospital clean. On top of that they prescribed my wife with antibiotics that even was not for the bacteria she was infected for. AND those antibiotics were not supposed to be prescribed to her since my wife is breastfeeding. We communicated that my wife is breastfeeding and they still prescribed us with the antibiotics telling us it’s safe to still breastfeed. A week later, we discover from a pharmacy that the antibiotics should have not been prescribed as it’s not recommended to breastfeed while she was on those antibiotics. It’s been 4 weeks since my wife is back from the C-Section but she hasn’t been showing any recovery. Typically the C-Section recovery is 6 weeks. She is in her week 4 and no improvements.
If you are going to have your baby delivered here, I highly and extremely recommend that you bring in a hidden camera of some kind, preferably a body cam, to catch the horrible mistreatment of patients and their spouses by the staff at this hospital on camera! The disrespectful, rude and even mean treatment was completely uncalled for and leaves you wondering what you even did to deserve such mistreatment! If it were to be caught on camera and posted to the news outlet, it would force the higher ups to retrain the staff for a more pleasant experience for someone who is excited about the birth of their child.
Actually had a good experience at the emergency the other day.... The nurses were pretty and kind tended to my injury in a reasonable time
This is the worst hospital to go to. They have zero compassion, are completely rude, will ignore your concerns, do not treat wounds gently and will ignore issues. Avoid this hospital. Avoid it. I had a baby at this hospital and seriously regret it. Worst experience. Never have a baby here.
