This Hospital corresponds to the category of General hospital.
A nice little hospital. Staff friendly and helpful.
It's a lifesaver.
ER??? ——No sense of urgency.my bf spent more than 6 hours just waiting to be stitched up.I guess you just have to bleed to death before they ask you in.I suggest you go to a different hospital. It would have been faster if we drove to VGH if we have known it would take that loooonnnngggg.
I went here when I had kidney stones. It was very unpleasant. I wouldn't recommend anyone else get kidney stones.
Not enough staff or space to run the ER. If you find yourself here cancel all your plans for the day because you're going to spend it there. Steer clear and go to a different hospital.
Not the kind of place you ever want to be giving a review but provided they fix whatever's broke and you walk away alive you have to give them a passing grade. Parking is horrible and the overall building feels like it's old and tired but the staff have always been decent when I've had to visit. I recommend this place as a last resort if you're healthy but the first if you need emergency care.
Let me start by saying that I worked at ERH for 16 years and have been gone since 2011. I thought ERH was the best hospital in Fraserhealth . Great staff, beautiful, clean and friendly . My mother was recently admitted and I stepped into ERH for the first time in 9 years . I was appalled to see the mess it is in . Filthy bathrooms , filthy walls full of dust and paint falling off . Equipment EVERYWHERE blocking the hallways . What happened to the beautiful hospital that I used to be proud to work in? It is disgusting and disheartening to see. I currently work in a hospital that is 20 years older than ERH and beautifully kept by a housekeeping/ maintenance Department has the backing of a employer that cares. The health region should be ashamed of the state they have let this amazing hospital fall into
disgusting that you can rent out space for a movie and put patient in the hallways....guess money over rules patient care
Too slow, im dying and they do not care!!!
This hospital was completely empty one weekend morning. I was the first one in the ER waiting room. 3 people walked in after me and it took 1.5 hours for them to call the first patient. I was the second patient called back and I notice they haven’t even spoke to the first patient yet. First patient leaves after 2 hours in the hospital. While waiting in the back I notice no one is doing anything. Nurses are chatting about their personal lives. The doctor looks like he is doing a web search of a patients symptoms prior to speaking with them. I spent 3 hours total in the hospital - this place was completely quiet and not busy at all yet they make people wait around. It’s like they want to make it look busy, just like how clubs make people stand in lines outside so the bar looks overfull. What a joke
My trip to the emergency was one of the quickest compared to other emergency wait times. The registration staff were very pleasant and friendly. Dr. Kathryn Toews was informative and at the same time comforting.
Today 7 Aug, I went in for a day surgery. Rewind to last week, 31Jul, I had to go in to complete my pre-op chest X-Ray and blood tests. Staff in both areas, lab and X-Ray were amazing, very efficient, attentive and caring. Back to today, at 11:00, I was at reception and the volunteer on duty greeted me cheerily and pointed me down to the main registration desk. The only lowlight of today, hence the loss of a star, was the 2 people at the Main Registration Desk. Lots of negative energy here! They were not friendly at all, not even a hint of a smile and seem to really not like being there at all. There was no wait, so I was promptly greeted by one person and she processed my registration very efficiently and professionally. With me, friendliness and courtesy go the longest way, unfortunately this was severely lacking. I have been to this desk previously for my wife’s treatments and the behaviour was the same. I hope that by this review, this issue gets dealt with and improved. I do understand that dealing with mostly grumpy patients can be taxing, however a smile and a cheery greeting may be all a patient needs to feel better! Ok, now to behind the scenes. SurInder called me up, after a very brief wait in the Register waiting area. She was friendly and professional and very efficient. She explained everything including times and process and was very attentive and caring. While Surinder was completing the paperwork and questionnaire, Anca inserted my IV and explained the use, purpose and mobility of it. Kelly was like a little bee, pollinating flowers, going from patient to patient and very caring and attentive. She noticed I was trying to lie down and she buzzed by and switched of my light. Ok, now to the surgical team, Dr. Kazemi came by and inspected me and explained the surgical procedure and the post-surgery care. Then a nurse whom I did not get her name, came by and gave me an injection. She was kind and explained everything, before, during and after. Then I got to me Dr. Scoates. He was so kind, friendly and funny, not to mention professional and efficient. He explained everything to me, including post-surgery care. The surgical team nurses seemed to be led by Melissa, who met me outside and escorted me into the OR, where I met Helen/Ellen, Maria, Kelly and Rachael/Rachel and Drs. Kazemi and Scoates. They were funny and kind and the next moment I was waking up in surgical day care to a very friendly, attentive and caring Ursula. Not sure what happened in the OR, but what happens in the OR, stays in the OR! Ursula was amazing, and then she passed me on to Sandy, with the great Aussie accent! They took really good care of me and explained post-surgery care to me and to me wife, a second time, when she arrived. Ursula refused to have me walk to the vehicle and wheeled me right to the door. All in all, the team that took care of me today were absolutely fabulous! I could not praise them enough. And the nurses, were all like Florence Nightingales, and they personified caring in one of the most noblest professions! Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart and please fix that Main Registration desk!!!! Blessings, Ben Rajoo
Met one male doctor and asked him about a benzo RX refill. INSTANTLY his demeanor changed and he became upset and stormed off saying He wasn't writing me anything. Classic. Just another doctor assuming that because I ask for a benzo that I must be a drug seeker/addict. Well let me inform you I am not an addict. If I do not receive this medication I could go into seizures. It helps me manage my life and continue to live productively. Without it I am basically crippled. I am not a drug seeker! Enough of the assumptions. Take your God complex down a notch and talk to your patients like human beings. Try being genuinely interested in your patients.
I received excellent service, good advice and could not have been treated better.
I have been suffering from shingles for 6 days now however the doctor ignored most of my symptoms and said I have an infected hair folical rather than shingles. After 4 days of antibiotics when I was only getting worse I went to another hospital for a second opinion as I haven’t been able to sleep because it’s on the right side of my head. The doctor at St Paul’s looked at me right away and deduced that I had shingles. Do not go there they will misdiagnose you!
there is never a schedule!
I would like to give a zero if I could Worst experience ever
Good place and staff for medical testing or treatment but not for the emergency room. Only go to the ER if you are having a "real emergency", quote "anything that can wait until tomorrow is not an emergency!"
In the reviews I see if ER staff know who looked after a patient but were not given an answer. Yes staff do know. Just ask for your Health records and you know who served you. There is one bad ER doctor serving Royal Columbian and Eagle Ridge, if you see her run away. You get 2 Tylenol no matter what is wrong and sent home after a stern scolding. Well she missed my cancer, doubling with pain and I was the recipient of 2 Tylenol. Do not know why our Medical Plan pays for people like that, in any other job people would loose their job. As for the ER deopartments employing Tylenol doctors: just put a Tylenol dispenser in the hallway and close the ER.
Terrible I was sitting on a chair for 18 hours to get bed. Nurses are horrible attitude. They have power and they don't care about your health.
The admitting nurses and OR nurses at ERH were THE BEST!!!!!! Warm, friendly, professional and efficient. A big thank you to all ❤️
Amazing staff. Very friendly and welcoming. Made my first surgery fearless.
Worst hospital period!! Took my partner there as she was puking non stop for 12 hours and 3 hours later they sent her home after butchering her arm and she's now sick again and she can't take her next does of medication for another 2 - 3 hours. Not happy!!!
Exceptional hospital experience.
Clearly Wayyyyyyy underfunded. For the area it in its the grossest hospital in BC. I waited 3 hours before leaving to get some robax to help with my intense pain they were ignoring. I returned today but the computer system is down…. Why IS A HOSPITAL COMPUTER SYSTEM SO BAD!?!?!!!??
Today we went to the ER due to my sister’s bf bumped his head to the tailgate of his car and he got cut by the edge. He was bleeding and we got panic. Went to the hospital around 1am and got treated within 2 hours. I have to say this is the quickest ER experience for me in Canada. It is true that they treat the patients who has non-stop bleeding/breathing problems first. Gladly he was all good and the wound got treated nice and quickly.
Love the nursing staff
have been there (emergency department ) already 3 times. Got a steam burn and was treated very professionally. Unfortunately, waiting time see a doctor could be up 2 - 3 hours.
Super long wait, however the fact that the dr who saw me was very thorough with all the exams and tests was very reassuring and could tell he really cares about his patients to want to rule out anything. And the nurse I had was awesome. I think her name is Susana, very helpful and caring. Oh and the ladies from triage very nice and friendly. Just wished I didn’t have to wait so long.
Very slow for ER room, can’t give you an estimate of how long you have to wait, no cafeteria or anything to get food, not many chairs to sit down for patients... story of every ER in Canada
They really look after u when ur very sick!!u guys rock!!
Only been twice but always friendly and professional. Long waits but it's a hospital!
I had surgery on my hand here today. I appreciate all the staff here for their kindness, speed, and care.
The hospital service is VERY fast and a second i signed in, i got called, other than that the doctors and nurses are so nice and not even one of them was mean. My surgery went really well there and even though it is old, don't think its bad. I really recommend you to go there
Excellent experience at the ER here. Attentive and kind staff. I was very impressed!
Went to the ER, because I injured my knee playing basketball. The wait wasn't very long as it was in the morning, and the front desk was very polite. However, the doctor I met was completely incapable, as he assured me that I didn't have any ligament damage, and my bones were fine. He did not say anything else helpful on what to do and what not to do. He said that I should be back in around 2 weeks. My family doctor, the same day, inspected the knee and said that there was definitely some ligament damage. Then I got a MRI, and it turns out I completely tore my ACL. I was baffled by how poor the examination of a professional doctor at this hospital was. Never going here again, it is worth it to drive to Royal Columbian.
It has been 7 hours since I came with a sivire abdominal pain. It is localized on the right side where apendix is. I am still here suffering along with others, kids, babies are included. The doctor has not even come to see me yet, they haven't even given me any painkillers. My temperature goes up and down. My wife complained and only after they moved me to a room with bed. I feel a little bit more comfortable on it but the pain persists. I can't believe every time people come and have to wait for 5-8 hours, it is not normal. You should do something about it!
Chester pain check-up too long time(4~5h)waiting & need ultra sound chek-up
My wife is is having a miscarriage and they are doing nothing in emergency. Been here for 2 hours. Not seen by anyone
Staff was polite to me even though I feel that there is a lack of personnel's, they were trying to do their best.thanks
From the paramedics to the nurse who was from Texas to the Doctor on duty. You all were terrific and in the right line of work. Fantastic care.
This is by far the friendliest ER. From check in to triage to doctor, everyone treated me with a smile. Thank you.
Popped my kneecap back in when it fell out during work. Doctor said "Aw man, I was hoping to be popping in a knee tonight." and that made me real happy
Very polite and friendly nurses. Doctor gave detail and easy to follow diagnostic and resolution steps. I think it took me just a little over 3hrs from checking in till leaving with a prescription, this included a CT scan.
Staff were not really friendly and you still have to pay them even though you gave them your insurance information.
I don't get the poor ratings, I went to emerg here on September 25th with a torn gastrocnemius. The staff were friendly and helpful. Sure it took about 5 hours to see a doctor, but it was a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed with sports injuries. Their professionalism and compassion more than compensate for the wait.
I was impressed by their timeliness. They did ask us to be there probably too soon but they did the rest of procedures very fast and within the minute of the scheduled time. Efficient and functional. Nurses and doctors we interacted with were very nice and professional. They kept asking the same questions (e.g., medications) 4-5 times but that was for cross checking I believe. Overall very good experience. They are located on a pretty parcel of land too and are close to The Village.
The best service ever. They are very organized. Thank you to all staff
I was in for surgery. All of the staff were super helpful and friendly. Well beyond any other hospital. Thank you!
Fast, efficient, excellent staff, plenty parking, no complaints at all.
5 hours in emergency and still waiting. Waited total of 7 hours to see a doctor and did nothing. Also pay $30 in parking.
Surprise but only took two hours for non emergency visit, kudos
Doctors, nurses and support staff were so nice and took great care to be sure I was comfortable and well taken care of.
Thankfully I haven’t had to be here too often but the staff are very kind and they are also very punctual. Great hospital!
I suggest going to another hospital the nurses were top noch, the doctors on the other hand need to learn some bed side manners also racial jokes are not needed nor wanted needless to say going to any other hospital is recomended over this one
Absolutely a disgrace of a hospital. My mother just had surgery there on her neck and the care that received was barely adequate to deserve the title of it. She was left in severe pain for almost the entire night with no one checking on her but that wasn’t even the worst of it! Here is the worst of it. She was put into a room with 3 other patients. Not usually a big deal, except that 2 of them were supposed to be in ISOLATION FOR HIGHLY INFECTIOUS DISEASES!! We will be contacting the Fraser Health Authority and several media outlets. This is such a disgrace.
As a US student, the medical system here is new to me. I had the unfortunate experience of speaking to a woman in emergency who didn't seem to care if I came in holding my dismembered arm. I explained that I had Canadian health insurance but was told I didn't have the right documents with me and that I would be charged $1000 dollars out of pocket. I walked away without a single person asking about what brought me into emergency -- which seems like a relevant concern to me.
Horrible detached service at a time when a desperate person in need of dire help is most vulnerable
I never needed any emergency treatment till today. I am having severe excruciating back pains I can't even walk. So I decided to go to this hospital which is the closest to my place. I had to wait over 3 hours with the worst pain i ever had in my life, till I was able to talk to the doctor. She touched my back a few times, ignored everything i told her, was very rude and blunt. The hospital was jammed with people and short staff, i come from a poor country but the staff back there is much nice or at least make you feel like they care. I AM A CANADIAN CITIZEN! I pay my taxes, we should have a decent service. The doctor literally talked to me for 2 minutes and decided I had a muscle spasm (wah lah, so smart) she told she would give me a shot, made me wait another half hour and brought Advil and Tylenol, she changed her mind! I spent all afternoon about 6 hours in a hospital (I had to wait another hour after taking pills and muscle relaxant before I left) for nothing! I could actually self medicate at home and avoid the hassle! I still can't walk, can't work, can't make money because of this failing system! What a great country we live eh?
The poor doctors are working hard, but the recourses are just not there
ERH Pre- Op admission department needs to revisit compassion and give out accurate , complete instructions. Rebecca/Jackie made preparing for Surgery a nightmare and burdened with anxiety. Waste of precious money and staff resources..Opportunity to rectify misinformation were ignored.
Horrible wait time.
My experience here was a good one. The hospital staff were polite, professional and fast. The doctor that stitched up my arm was very skilled at his job. I'm happy to give a good review for great care and service.
The person at the check in, threatened to call security for a nice gentleman who wanted to be with his wife. His wife had a procedure and she was quite nervous but the woman at the door was extremely rude and inconsiderate . The excuse is covid! Wait! isn't the emergency act over? Why are you guys doing this to people??
Been a few times this December for various tests....Parking is very expensive and it's a LONG walk to get anywhere .The tests were done when scheduled and the staff are pleasant and helpful.
(Translated) Very cool hospital (Original) مستشفى رائع جدا
I was bitten by my mother's dog today and we reported it to the police, but the Persian-speaking doctors who work there are very rude and said to report that I am not saying that their bitten dog is very aggressive and rude.
Better off getting a needle and some thread and sewing yourself than getting stitches here.
Don’t expect to receive any care for less than 3 hours. U better not to die meanwhile. It seems No one really cares about patients with emergency.
I went to the ER today with a knee injury and even though it was a busy July1st weekend I was in and out in 1 hour. My only comment would be the doctor who came to discuss my xrays seemed to want to rush away. I had a few questions regarding how to treat myself at home and he was walking away as I was still asking. They were not busy so not sure why he couldn't just give me a few quick answers.
Great nursing staff helped me through stressful day.
The front desk at this hospital legit told me to go to my family doctor for a prescription the doctor there precribed. They are less useful than the signs in the hospital.
1950's style interior ,dark ,very small hospital for whole tricity area. The Doctors are in a SLOW MOTION in emergency room ,they are mostly one or max 2 doctors. My thumb was cut all over very bad. Even though it was just 7-8 patients in emergency room and i was a 4th one i had to stay hours and hours and finally i decided to leave and go home. There was PEE on the chairs, some which were WET. There were canisters of FECES (POO) in the rooms and they were NOT cleaned & emptied!!! You could smell the poo in the hallways of the emergency room
One time after another this hospital proves how bad it is. Nurses are way rude all the way. Doctors are usually nice and efficient but that's if you could actually see one. I'd rather stay in pain and wait for my family doctor than one of those nurses talk to me like that while helping me. That's unusual but there was pretty rude female doctor there too today.
Friendly staff. Usually a line up when I am there for some blood work. Pay parking available. Overall, a very efficient and reliable place when it comes to Healthcare issues.
Had my worst experience in hospital here. No one cares if you receive the attention and treatment you need or not. There was only one nurse called Sam who was really nice and caring.
Great experience here at the medical imaging doing my first HSG test. The nurse is super nice and calming. The doctor is also super nice explaining the results to me. Great experience!
Had day surgery yesterday. I was extremely happy with the care I received! From the receptionist to the nurses, Dr Joel Gagnon and the rest of the OR team plus the nurses in the recovery room!!! You all did a fantastic job ????.
Was here on 7/8/18 and was diagnosed with pneumonia. Was nearly 3 hours by the time I left. Nice, helpful staff except for one impatient, indifferent nurse (tall, thin, brown eyes, brown hair in pony tail). I was trying to ask her a question, but she cut me off with a sneer and "there are people who have been waiting far longer than you!" I know she probably meets rude people every day, but I was not rude, nor was I complaining. Try a little empathy, maybe. I was there from about 540 to 840 pm.
It's like a hell on earth. Had to wait 4 hours in the emergency line with my 8-month old baby who has pneumonia. And still waiting... Insulting.
Went to the ER yesterday afternoon with abdominal pain. Waiting room was only half full. Had fluid samples taken within 30min of being checked in. Eventually spoke with a nice doctor a few hours later (not great but could be worse). All the nurses that spoke with me during my wait time were friendly. Wish I could've left knowing what my problem was, though, the doc could only tell me what I didn't have. Was given painkillers and had to schedule an ultrasound for myself for the next day.
Worst experience ever in so much pain been sitting here for a while
Pretty good at keeping people alive!
Make this hospital your very last resort. I was picking my mom up today after a surgery, she's still in bed and nauseated all that the nurse can suggest is for her to go home. This happened at the day care unit. The nurse told me to move my car to the 15min parking while she escorts my mom to the washroom. When I got back the nurse and I heard vomiting and she asked me if that was my mom. I told her I have no idea I was in the car and i wasn't the one who helped her to the washroom. And I found out their shift ends at 4pm I was there at 330pm. One lady at the registration near the back entrance was rude too I asked for directions as there was no sign or label was at the day care door. Avoid this place!
Could do with improvement. Imaging is very good. ER is very, very slow. +3 hour waits.
I was in yesterday to have surgery on both feet. I must say that the entire nursing staff (doctors included) were very friendly and hospitable , this made me feel quite comfortable and assuring. They seem to actually enjoy caring for their patients . I want to thank everyone for taking great care of me and to say I'm very appreciative. ????????????
Yesterday after 4 hours of waiting on ER waiting room, with a really bad ear pain, a dr. see me.For exactly 2 min and he told me that I'm ok,I don't have to worry about it. I ask him why he doesn't clean up my ear or to see me a specialist. He repeated that I'm ok.He gave me a prescription with drops and that was my visit on ER at this hospital .I'm still in pain ,3th day with it.So..
Been sent here twice by two different Doctors at walk-in clinic. Second time the clinic Doctor faxed a specific test that needed to be done. They refused.
Had a scheduled procedure here. The staff here was detail oriented with their communication. The check-in was a bit of wait but the rest went smoothly. Nurses were very kind and understanding, paid attention to everyone in the ward. Overall very impressed with their professionalism and seamless process.
Don’t bother going here. It’s worth the extra little drive to go to RCH or ANYWHERE else instead! If I could rate it less than one star I would. I was 7 months pregnant in the summer and could not keep fluids down, I knew I was dehydrated and needed an IV for fluids. The Asian doctor wearing green crocs(trying to find his name so maybe that’s a good enough description?) that was probably 22 tried to send me home with diagnosed “food poisoning” and refused to give me an IV despite being pregnant. Worst hospital aside from Maple Ridge and even they might be better.
Great staff and doctors.
My son went in with a broken foot. They took x-rays to confirm. Referred him to a specialist and sent him home without at least wrapping it, or an air-boot or crutches or even pain killers. He had to borrow crutches from a family member. I should have taken him to RCH but it's farther from home. Note to self, go the New West.
Always excellent service and staff here. Thanks!
I went for my Salpy there and was soooooo worried about it. It's an uncomfortable procedure. A big thanks to Dr. Debra Chen and her assistants Lorraine and Delaire.. these guys are amazing. They explained the whole procedure to me so well and made me so comfortable that I didn't even realised when the procedure was done. Quite far from my place but worth traveling. Wonderful experience
Friendly staff and good environment!
Both the Er respectionist and medical imaging girls were very rude to me... Nurses and doctors were very kind
They left me for 4 hours in emergency. Tried to ask several times for an update or an indication of what is going on since others who came after me were going before. Nothing but rude responses and nothing close to answer. If these people care about their patients it's impossible to tell.
Been a few times for day surgery and has always been a smooth experience. Reception staff were pleasant and efficient and they have the surgeries scheduled in a timely manner. You never want to go to a hospital but my experience here has been positive.
Awful, really how them become a doctor,I had lot pain in my chest and all of my left side nobody didn’t care send me home with same pain , You guys may cause someone to die
the people in emergency were very kind and they were nice
I dislike hospitals, but Eagle Ridge made me change my mind. The ER staff were excellent and even though they were running over capacity they constantly kept checking up on me. When I got my bed, they kept checking in and even when they had to move some of the less critical patients into the corridor due to shortage of space (come on BC Govt - fund them already), they had a nurse keep an eye on us and make sure we were comfortable. The ward upstairs had the nicest people and you could tell they liked what they do. I don't want to go into names but they are completely amazing people.
Dont remember any of it but im still here so they must do good
I have never had a bad experience in this hospital. However I have only been there for surgery regarding a life threatening very invasive cancer. I first saw my GP about my symptoms and was REFERRED to a specialist for care at Eagle Ridge. I was treated very well by all I came in contact with. I am a very nervous patient and did not have to say a word about it as I found everyone very comforting. Hospitals are not for simple aches and pains. Your GP is your first line of defence. Those that have visited the ER numerous times (more than 12 my goodness!) for problems that are not life threatening you will find yourself waiting. Who actually has that many REAL EMERGENCY PROBLEMS THAT THEY HAVEN'T SEEN THERE GP FIRST FOR DIAGNOSIS AND CARE. The hospital ER is not a walk in clinic and your aches and pains are only taking up beds for real emergencies and this in itself is very annoying to hospital staff. Perhaps this will answer your questions regarding attitudes within the hospital. Hospital ER's are supposed to be dealing with real emergences not self determined emergencies. UNLESS YOU HAVE A LIFE THREATENING REAL EMERGENCY GO TO YOUR GP FOR TREATMENT. YOU ARE WASTING VALUABLE TAXPAYER DOLLARS, HOSPITAL TIME, BEDS FOR REAL ER PATIENTS AND EVERYONE'S PATIENCE.
Just terrible....half of those in the waiting room have family doctors and NON URGENT ISSUES. If you have a doc and something not urgent like a broken bone, kidney stone, gash, gunshot wound, heart attack, then see your family doc and stop wasting resources. Emergency rooms need to stop accepting this kind of nonsense
My one-year old daughter tripped and bashed her mouth causing her tooth to come through her lip. I can't tell you how well this hospital handled the situation. Gave her a stuffed bear, got us right in, checked out the cut and her teeth. Gave her some skin glue and luckily didn't need stitches. They are genuinely doing the best they can. I am so grateful that I live in a country where we can walk off the street and get taken care of. I wish I could do more to thank them.
Pretty disappointing hospital. If you know a nurse you’ll get in prior to the patients who’ve been waiting for countless hours. Don’t recommend this hospital at all. Great waste of tax payers dollars.
Got there at 12:30 checked in and my foot got to the point where i could not feel it as it was getting numb and i could not feel me touching it anymore - and told triage ( this was over 4 hours later ) and they said yeah you should go to another hospital - wow this is our health care. I still cant believe they told me to go to another hospital - wow you should really re train your triage nurses or just get people who actually want to be there.
x-ray department was amazing
This hospital Sucks! Staff and Dr's are rude and don't listen to patients. Staff wouldn't allow family to take my things home during surgery and staff has lost my belonging. Shoes, jacket, clothing. No one wants to take responsibility. They snicker and laugh at patient's will never accept this hospital for anything. Horrible horrible experance
Staff were very friendly, and I got the treatment I needed relatively quickly.
On our first visit we had an extremely long wait (3.5 hours before we were seen and then a total of 9.5 hours before we were out of there) but there were a few critical patients brought in which delayed our progress. The staff was excellent. I was there with my 4 year old who had just broken her arm and the nurses kept checking on us, both nurses and doctors were constantly trying to get us in to the room we needed to be in for the doctor to straighten and cast her arm, and even though everything took a long time, everyone was friendly, concerned and extremely helpful. We actually went back the next evening because my daughter was complaining the the cast seemed too tight. We go the same excellent service and help. Everyone who had been working the night before recognized us and came to see how my daughter was doing. An extremely excellent group of people! Thank you to everyone there who saw us and helped us monday night, tuesday night and on the phone following.
Nurses are wonderful. Drs are Respectable. They took very good care of my wife when I brought her into emergency. I have alot of respect for what these people have to go through everyday they go to work.
Worst Emergency ! Worst Service ! They do not care if you are dying from pain or you need some urgent help. You just have to wait till there is a spot available! Drs and nurses joke around and talk with each other while patients are lined up to get assessment. It seems like you are just in an office and waiting for some paper works to get done. All the staff take lunch break at the same time in the Emergency and they leave without any care to the patients. There is a chance to die in Eagle Ridge Emergency and nobody even knows ...
Grandma was sent over to Eagle Ridge Hospital from Royal Columbia after suffering a fractured hip. (Stefanie) Through our experience ALL THE STAFF was extremely friendly. Couple of shout outs to some of they key players we worked with: Mikayla, the PCC for all the calls, bookings, requests! Rose - One of the nurses - EPIC CARE from this nurse. Karen (I believe her name is) - One of the nurses - EPIC support and met needs of the family. Alex - Epic support - Met the needs! And all the others I didn't get the names of :( ***** Keep up the good work ***** Thanks for taking care of our grandma. Cheers guys, -DAN
When I was around the time when I was in grade 4, I tripped over a chair and smashed my head into the corner of the wall, it had ripped my skin completely above my eye. We rushed to the ER, but was told to wait while there was blood pouring out of my eyebrow and into my eye. We waited a total of 7 hours just to get stitches. Horrible place Avoid at all cost
I was bitten by my mother's dog today and we reported it to the police, but the Persian-speaking doctors who work there are very rude and said to report that I am not saying that their bitten dog is very aggressive and rude.
Was admitted to the ER Friday Dec 20/19 for a number of wounds, lacerated chin, c/o of neck pain and rib pain. KUDOS TO MY RNS WHO GET 100 STARS BRIAN AND JULIA (Night Staff) but Dr. J. Johnson was cold and not compassionate to my situation at all, he apologized after I addressed this and he put it down to "feeling under the weather"???? Then, after night crew were preparing me for a more quiet bed, the day nurse in charge, who spoke and clearly could not listen or care, already had me discharged!!! No one told me!!!!! I am not coping at home, pain is ++++++++ and I do not have what I would call a safe home. Thanks Eagleridge ! Thanks for responding but a little to late folks! YOU sent me home where I was clearly unsafe, unable to treat the pain I was in NOT TO MENTION sutures to my FACE that has now left a disgusting scar. Even this retired First Responder knows how delicately one should suture a person's face! Feb 23. Well nothing has changed. I went here ONLY because of its location and I was 3 weeks post surgery from a serious operation wherein I had SERIOUS and SUDDEN pain. The ER Admin clerk was cold, not a warm face to be had and was adament I SIT in a chair when my SURGEON advised I must be 3/4 . She sent me to the Triage RN, not warm but did care and took me in and I had a bed. (thank you to her). The Social Worker Jasmine was amazing, but the Dr came in and she said she would return to continue talking AGAIN DUE TO MY precarious living conditions. I began telling the doc of what had happened and when he asked what I was given at the hospital I had my surgery at for pain, I advised him and that I was sent home with the small dosed Fentanyl Patch with Benadryl. He replied "well we won't be doing that here". He had not yet even examined me. I had to ASK for an xray or CT as I felt my Cervical Spine (the surgery) had been affected after the 10 minute assessment. I waited for the SW to return but she had left and another Charge RN I believe was saying she was "doing her best to help me".....but with no compassion to my situation. She asked if I required pain meds and I said well, I told the doc what worked for me before and she said she asked why Fentanyl...in complete exhaustion and emotionally drained I explained why and she said she would get the doc. I had heard him already express :well we are not doing that here" so why, would I think this doctor, with whom I had to ASK for a picture of my neck as I was in sudden pain when I did not have it after the surgery, would EVER give me Fentanyl. I removed my own I.V. and began to walk away when he approached denying he ever said that. Believe me, HE DID! In future, when running from a verbally abusive spouse and in need of medical attention, I will walk or crawl to any other hospital vs. ever going to this shop again.
Got asked to wait outside because of the packed waiting area. Come back inside waited for 5 hours and asked them how much longer to tell us they called us earlier. Very slow.
Only go here if you really have no other choice. I came at 4am with only one person in the waiting room. I got in to a room fairly quickly but I’m two hours in currently and literally no one has came in to even remotely TALK to me. Rude nurses sadly- they get super offended if you even ask about when you may see someone. I was told “ I have no idea” Wow Next time I’m going elsewhere
I believe they are undergoing some renovations but this hospital is confusing! Couldn't properly find the right ward and the nurses didn't know either.
Dont let the reviews scare you :) there are a lot of negative reviews of this hospital but that was not my experience at all. I went to the ER yesterday and all the staff were so nice and caring.
I am a survivor of COVID 19.There are brave soldiers InFront-Line of this hospital.they give life and love with their big and warm heart. They are Angel,I can’t find any words to explain their hard work.we have to appreciate their sacrifice and kindness. Thank you to the C2B section nurses and doctors best and kindest people ever.
This place is a dump
I would like to say , many thanks. From the E.R. reception , Doctors. the kind, caring, understanding attitude.Of all staff. I would like to point out, the out-standing care, I received at the Rapid Access Clinic. From , Cindy, Dr. Malholtra, Dr.Wong. The I.V. team, by the way. Very caring, and understanding. through the many months of care, I can not thank them enough. friends for life. This team," Is the Best". Through all the Pain, i endured, from my broken and infected leg. they are my Saints. They kept my spirits up, my dignity. Made me feel like I was at home. A special thank-you to 2 wonderful nurses. Bonita, and Heather. You ladies. Rock!!!!. VERY OUTSTANDING CARE. Thank-you. for making this time a very rewarding experience.
My girlfriend had back surgery there from dr Chan Very good care, very friendly and we were impressed with everything her 3 day stay was very good organized from the iintake till the discharge Great hospital and staff were amazing
Extremely long wait time to see the doctor(emergency Dept). Most of the time it is 6hrs. It should be better organized. Doctors should talk to patient first and order needed tests. It would cut the patientwait time in half.
All hospitals have long wait times but Eagle Ridge was exceptional with getting me in to see a Doctor in a timely fashion and to diagnose me quickly. Without the quick diagnosis and action by Dr Ryper and the ER nurses, I could have died. Very grateful for the staff!
WHAT A JOKE..... my throat is currently closing up in the ER and they said when I pass out from lac of oxygen than theyll rush me in. I cant believe the disrespect and unprofessionally of this hospital. Everyone in this hospital that's ER related is a joke. RICHARD STEWART HOW BOUT SOME TAX MONEY FOR NEW STAFF AT THE HOSPITAL.
My Dad have a prostate recession surgery today .this is a small hospital have great and nice staff and nurse Doctor with care and heart .Dr.Ho and Dr. Warner are both very helpful with their heart and professionalism Totally wonderful experience deserve a Five star hospital ????
I have been to Eagle Ridge Hospital Emergency several times - once I had to wait quite a while. Staff were kind and professional. Perhaps if people stopped using Emergency as a walk-in clinic wait times would be less.
great job. thanks
Don't tell your patients to come back if it gets worse if you aren't going to do anything about it when it does get worse! I left work early just to be told to again to come back if it gets worse... Thanks
Just for everyone's information. All of the good reviews are written by hospital staff. 4 and 5 star reviews are all fake. This is a 1 star hospital. If possibly this should be a zero star hospital. This is the worst hospital in all of Canada probably. Uneducated and ill informed doctors nurses and staff. Absolutely no organization or cleanliness. I've been to drug dealers house that are cleaner and actually help you feel better unlike this God forsaken monument of human stupidity
I can’t believe it took 7.5 hours. That’s a joke. The staff are rude and treat you like you are bothering them. I left for 15 min after being in the waiting room for 3 hours. I told the male nurse and he said it was fine. When I came back I wanted to make sure my name wasn’t called and everyone there just ignores you when you try to get their attention so I went to the same man to ask and he snapped at me and rolled his eyes because I’m asking the wrong person. This man (small, philino accent, short hair, regular weight) clearly hates his job. If you lack patience and compassion, you really picked the wrong career. Then I found the “right” nurse to check and she said that they called my name and they usually get you to sit down and wait from the beginning. After waiting for 3 hours already! Who does that? I didn’t leave for an hour, i was gone for 15 min. The doctor finally saw me after 2.5 hours. Then I had to wait over an hour to get pain killers which the doctor forgot to tell the nurse about and my husband had to go see what the hell was taking so long, again. I could go on and on. It was one of the most emotional, frustrating and stressful moments of my life. These people don’t care anymore. They are clearly tired of what they do.
This is posting is really for Eagle Ridge Manor Respite however they have taken their one star ratings down. DO NOT bring your loved one here if you hope to see them alive again. I took my husband here he walked across the parking lot on his own unassisted- NO walker no cane no wheelchair. He knew the date was coherent. He was able to eat on his own. Had a good appetite. I admitted him into respite on a Sunday at 10:30 am and by 6:07 am next day-less than 24 hours I was informed of his passing. Please if you value your loved one do NOT take them to this horror show.
There's too much to complain about this dump of a hospital and it makes me angry thinking about it .I have had lots of experience with that place with myself and my mother. Please tare this place down and build a park over it
Thanks to a timely CT Scan at your hospital, I was referred to the emergency department for a suspected appendicitis. Every staff member who looked after me was extremely professional and exceptionally kind. I am at home recovering now and very grateful for your excellent care.
Doctors and nurses were nice but expect to have a very long wait. Have to wait at least an hour to be taken to another waiting room. Then another hour or two to see a doctor. Not a joke! I visited twice so far and both times spent 6-8 hours
My husband had a concussion after a car crash , so I took him to the ER. Guess how many minutes for a broken elbow and concussion he had to sit and wait? 40 minutes..... then to make everything more painful for us . We got a parking ticket since I paid my parking fee a bit late . Clearly people at ER section are distressed and emotional . This is very inhuman and very cruel . They didn’t even let me dispute my ticket . Horrible , horrible . The Doctor released him and avoided to X-ray my husbands neck , even though he had a lot of pain, now he can’t even move his neck . Would you people please have some sense of integrity . I would never let any one I know set foot in there .
If you need to take out the garbage? This is the place to drop it off at.. I was scheduled for surgery at this hospital and have never been in this hospital before. I gagged at the condition of this hospital and really felt that it would not work out well. I cancelled surgery and left..
Brought my 2year old daughter yesterday. We’ve been waiting for almost 3 hours. My daughter is already anxious and when I asked how long before the doctor can see her nurse said she’s still 5th in the line up & they don’t know how long. They don’t have a system, I noticed 1 person came in & they were out w/in 1.5hrs. We decided to leave and very disappointed.
I was in ER last week and waited 6 hours to see a doctor. He told I had a mixture of contact dermintitis and an infection on the right side of my chest. Told me to come back if my symptoms continued after my anti-biotics were out. Tonight I went back after waking up from abrupt pain around my sides. The rashes on my chest has spread to my face, abdomen and side rib. Waited about an hour and saw Dr Wong. Told her i was in pain and she told me I had normal blood pressure and no fever and that they treat patients who are having heart attacks. Told me to get body lotion and go to a walk-in clinic tomorrow. I didn't know they could turn patients away.
Nurse and staff are so helpful. My mom broke her arm and she was being attended in the ER with great professional care from the team. Thank you.
Long, long wait times for care.
In you end in the emergency at the Eagle Ridge Hospital and your dr. is Wormsbecker, good luck. The laziest doctor in that place. He cares more about checking the time for his shift to finish. He will leave not even giving you an update of your condition. Patients? Who cares...he just wants to leave ASAP.
I would give a zero star if I can. We took an ambulance in the evening because it was an emergency. The ER doctor diagnosed it with a mild flu/food poisoning. Came back home early in the next morning because all they could do was give her morphine and gravol but had to go back the next day because the pain was getting worse. Diagnosed with another illness for a day but misdiagnosed AGAIN. Now she is still in the hospital getting other examinations done but I don't think I can trust doctors at eagle ridge. They misdiagnosed TWICE already. I tries asking the nurses for the name of the doctor but they repeatedly told me they don't know which doctor was working. How can the nurses not know who was on shift?
Eagle ridge Hospital is a small unit. The service team at reception, operation theatre and wards are professionally trained and served us in a very good manner.
Pretty good and kind doctors but half the nurses here should be working in a funeral home as they clearly are not made to be in care positions..if you hate your job do somthing else.
Had to take my 10 y/o with breathing difficulties into the ER. Once I got past the teenager running a "Covid Checkpoint" in the doorway everything was great. Staff were very professional, skilled, and attentive to my frightened boy.
I feel like I could write a novel on how horrible an experience I had at this hospital. If you have a choice, do not go to this overrated retirement home ever. It is the epitome of socialized medicine. Royal Columbian is where it's at.
The longest wait time in BC. If you can drive somewhere else for your own health!
Thanks doc
I went to Eagle Ridge Hospital at 5:30 a.m for the first time in BC. All the staff were very friendly and listened to me carefully. Thanks to Dr. Philip Yoon and his assistant for their professional behaviour.
Worse Hospital ever. My 1.5 year old (now 2), went to the ER as she had a viral related seizure at the mall. (Thanks to a nurse off duty nearby, she took care of the situation very quickly) So she goes to the ER at eagle ridge, had to wait 4 hours just to be remitted into the hospital bed. After 2 hours without any doctors coming in to check up, she has another random seizure (no breathing etc) They didn't even react till my wife started screaming as my baby wasn't breathing. Final decision of eagle ridge was that they couldn't diagnose what's wrong, so she was sent to Vancouver Children's Hospital. So if you have a child sick that needs to go to the ER here, just take them straight to Vancouver Children's Hospital as the docs here don't know anything about children being sick.
Had to call 911 for my senior parent's serious injury (hot water burn) and after one hour they showed up and took her to this waste less mini emergency hospital. Then again had to wait another hour to get a bed while stinging and hurting soooooo much from the pain of the huge burned wound not covered up by the paramedics. Then another long wait for Dr. Brendon Woods to come and took a 3 second look at the burned wound and called it a 2nd degree burn only. He said we'll just do a dressing and follow up with a plastic surgeon in 3 days. Asked him if he would give her the tetanus shot because she has an open wound and he said there's no need which was so shocking to me. Something he should have known already. Then had to remind him to give her a pain killer and IV before she passed out. Again something he should have done automatically. Finally after almost another hour a nurse came to put some dressing on the wound after so long of being in pain and worrying about getting an infection. Without disinfecting and properly cleaning the wounded area first, she just started to put Polysporine and covered it sooo so poorly like it was her first time ever and was not trained for it and it all fell off by the time we got home... and ended up with an open wound again. Basically we went to the hospital for nothing and wasted our whole day in there for some unprofessionals to get paid for not doing there job right. Don't waste or risk your life by going to this hospital. I'd rather drive an hour away to RCH or elsewhere than here.
if there was a 0 star option I prefer to give that instead of 1 because the doctors and nurses were mean and unprofessional. it takes for ever to visit a patient that who is in pain, there are tons of nurses and doctors in the hospital.
I had foot surgery there on the 11th June and I was really impressed by the overall friendliness of the staff at the hospital. From the beginning to the end . The nurses and doctors all made me feel at ease which kept me calm and stress free.
Good service and all the hosts are nice
All staff members are exceptional helpful but the most outstanding one is is nurse Contessa Johnson who is very patient, understanding, and knowledgeable. Patients are in good hands
I have taken my elderly parents to pretty much all nearby hospitals here in metro Vancouver including BC Cancer Surrey location and I have to admit that this hospital is by far the worst local hospital in the history of humankind. It gives false sense of security and hope to local residents who depend on small to medium sized hospitals for real emergencies. I get that this is not VGH nor RCH but it gets to a point where you start to wonder, do eagle ridge hospital management not care about how their staff perform and the feedback they get? I look around and there is less than a half dozen of potential patients in the emergency lobby. I had to take my dad here as instructed by our family doctor this afternoon. It's been 3.5 hours since we were told to wait and during that time I've heard staff talk about: their weekend plans, diet, amazon shopping, etc. My wish is for them to actually show some sense of professionalism by checking on the patient who's been sitting on a low grade chair separated by Dollarama quality curtains. Not one person checked on us in the last 3.5 hours and this experience hasn't been so kind to my cancer stricken dad in his late 70s. I am sure most of the medical staff are hard working, passionate professionals. Not here. They are more suitable to work at retails shops at a mall.
I sort of have a love-hate feeling towards this hospital. When it comes to emergency response, they are VERY slow. In fact they are probably one of the slowest hospital I've been to over the years. So if you are needing immediate attention, you might as well take a longer drive to Columbia Hospital in New Westminster. However, if you have appointments and are getting treated for certain problems referred by your family doctor, they will provide caring and undivided attention. I had a hand surgery here, and the nurses were super friendly and careful with every little detail.
I am very grateful to all the staff at Eagle Ridge, starting with the receptionist, nurses (Julie, Mariana, Anca, to name a few) and the rest of staff and of course doctors they were all amazing, carrying and professional. Thank you for making my stay there a breeze. You are great! Thanks!
The reviews are truthful. This Hospital has bad waiting times. Some of the nurses are very disrespectful. One patient had a son who was running around the computers, and had his mask off of his nose, and coughing all over the place. This was in the room where I was put. They did nothing to protect high risk patients, just let the kids run around yelling and screaming. Which makes patients with illness uncomfortable in an already stressful situation. If you have a very serious problem, don't go there. Go to Vancouver General or RCH.
Volunteers are SO FUNNY!!! Best Joke I've heard ever!! Make sure to ask them for one XD LMAO LOL ROFL :)))))
They took good care of me here. I was treated well during my unexpected trip to Emergency, the staff went above and beyond, testing me thoroughly to make sure I was safe to return home.
The Nurse at admission 1 greeted everyone with a scowl, angered at their very existence. The fact they were even alive brought visible pain to her face as she reluctantly called them up one after another. She asked every question with a tone of anger, and when they responded, that anger would only increase. I had been waiting for several hours (despite having heart issues) and was able to hear every single one of her miserable interactions. The covid setup was rather amusing as they had plexi glass to seperate those being admitted on the sides but none behind or front where people were sitting inches away. The quarantine area for those with covid symptoms was located at the back of the waiting room so those potential covid super spreaders had to walk through the non-covid patients to enter and to leave. They also weren't given clear directions by the angered nurse, this resulted in them mixing in with the regular patients. Like losing a friend in a large crowd. Due to confusing directions by the admission nurse and intake nurse a patients Mom stepped up and started politely directing patients where to go and sit, after some time she jokingly quipped "I might as well be working here." Those of us in ear shot all laughed, a much needed respite from the general negative atmosphere created by staff. Eventually she left after her mother was admitted and the waiting room again collapsed into disarray as no one had the energy or motivation to fill her void, including myself. After the 4 hour wait the attending doctor was friendly and nice. Likewise the nurse who took my blood was also quite sweet. For those reasons I elevated my rating from a one to a two.
Outstanding high intensity rehab ward - specializing in neurological rehab. Highly organized, good staff, very responsive. Actively try to improve communications.
My wife whose pregnant was not feeling well last night so I took her to the ER just to check our baby so she would have a piece of mind that the baby is ok. At 12am we got there not super busy about 12 people waiting including those who had come along with patients. At around 1am we started noticing people who had come in after us are getting called in so i asked the nurse what was going on and 5 mins after our conversation my wife was taken to the bed area.On the computer screen in front of the bed my wife's name was 4th with about 9 people's on the list I took a picture of it but won't put it on the post because of privacy issues. On the bottom of the patients names had a description like minor conditions(most of people had this description,my wife was one of them as well),dizziness, laceration, looks ok etc. When we were taken into the bed area there was 3 doctors working that kept coming in and going. At about 1:45am I notice it had slowed down now there was only 2 doctors and less patients but not one had come to see my wife so we asked a nurse again and she said we were next. One doctor came I guess it's were the pick up the patients paperwork and looked at the last one there(my wife's) put it back and left, so I got pissed off as now that computer list down to only my wife and 2 other patients. So again I asked the nurse it's now around 225am what's going on my wife is stressing out and we've been here now for 2.5 almost hrs.So she assured me when the lady doctor who was next door to our bed was done she would come and see us.the guy the doctor was helping had come in after we had BTW.So when she was done this is what happened the doctor grabbed her water bottle and left the ER area at this time it's around 2:45am. I have a tired and stressed out wife and am beyond pissed off now I went to the waiting area there is no one (no patients no employee nothing)there.I came back and then start to complain as to what was going on. The nurse said I'll find out for you and the 5 mins later a doctor showed up and at almost 3 am we were done. I didn't get any names of anyone but I assure this is the worst ER department the doctors were all unprofessional seemed like they didn't care like passing the patient off until someone complains enough we're they have to see them not because it's there jobs but because they've passed it off for so long that there is no other choice. Not sure who is in charge of The ER department if it was me I would fire and hire people that want to work and help patients.Because there is no way I would need wait 3 hours to have to complain 3 different times to go from been the 4 patient on a list to been the last person In the ER and been ignored by all the doctors.I got a vibe like the ER doctors on duty were too good to be there. I feel sorry for whoever gave these people their PHDs and that I live in a community which has this type of ER department.picking and choosing who they help out!!!!Well done Eagle ridge hospital hold your head up high in our community. You failed!!!
It took 8hrs for a doctor to come in a see my daughter. He literally spent more time introducing himself than examining my daughter. So after 8 hrs if waiting he spent less than 2 minutes in the room with us (I timed it, so it is accurate, I am not exaggerating). While we we there, for about 4hrs a lady with excruciating chest pain was being ignored. Another patient, about 4 years old girl with obvious concussion, wasnin the waiting room longer than us! This ER is so unorganized and understaffed that the stuff doesn’t seem to care at all. Most of the time you can see them chatting and laughing in the back. Only volunteers come around every few minutes with hand sanitizer. If you have a children, definitely take them to BC Children. Kids that come in with suspected concussion are put into CT scana and/or MRI immediately (I speak from experience) and for the rest, drive little further and go literally to any other hospital but this one. Oh, and it’s pretty filthy too!
Went into emerge for a head injury due to car accident today. Waited since 6:30pm to 9:30pm to be put into patient bed. Waited for another hour for the doctor to tell me it was a light concussion and no further testing is needed. He also told me he’ll give me prescription for the headache but the nurse told me I don’t need any prescription and that I’m good to go. At this point I’m already drugged up and free to go home on my own... no discharge paperwork or report of my visit. I wasn’t expecting to get a quick diagnosis and discharged when there’s head injuries involved.
This hospital used to be amazing, the doctors and staff were always on the ball and it was relatively quick to see a doctor. Unfortunately that is not the case anymore, whatsoever! This hospital is awful; the doctors often misdiagnose patients (3 times in my own personal experience) and send them home, only for the patient to come back and get diagnosed differently the next day. The wait times are up in the 4/5/6 hour wait times and once you do see a doctor, their bedside manners are horrific. I recommend royal Colombian hospital if you can get there instead!
I had a great first experience at this hospital. Showed up at the emergency side of it at 2 am, got triaged quickly, they a few tests. Waiting about 40-1 hour for a doctor ( I wasn’t in a life or deaths scenario), doctor was great and filled a request to do a test. Was out in about 2 hours ish. It’s the quickest I’ve ever been in and out of an hospital. So far, love them!
I took my wife to Emergency today at 4pm. She had badly sprained her ankle. The service we received is easily the best care (especially for an emergency ward) that we have received. In and out after 2.5 hours including X-ray and consultation. It’s was very busy as expected but staff were on point. Everyone from the check in receptionist, triage nurse, doctor (Mike) and departure nurse were very professional and caring. Top job Eagle Ridge!
I had my scheduled surgery in this hospital on October 29, 2021. The staff involved was extremely efficient and professional, before and after the surgery, and I believe during the one (I don't remember this part though, being under anesthesia). I could not expect better treatment and I was very grateful to be in such loving and caring hands.
I have been three times at the Eagle Ridge Hospital Laboratory for blood samples. It's the worse lab I have been to. Three times and the three times they have hurt my arm trying to take a blood sample. It's ridiculous that in a hospital the employees cannot even take a blood sample! Today the nurse had to call another one because she just couldn't take the sample. I ended with two needles. It never happens at the Life Labs. No wonder why this lab is almost empty. And there is a chubby loud woman who things that she rules the place. Always gossiping and laughing with the rest of the employees. She couldn't care the less about patients waiting...and for sure, she does not how to take a blood sample either. For sure my last time at this awful place. They should hire employees that at least know the basics in medicine. Scary to end there for an emergency.
The emergency section will be the WORST experience with ignorant staff aka Doctors you will have. Do not trust their judgment, see another Doctor! Specially for children.. you should visit Children's Hospital**
The wait time at the ER is crazy and they don’t even care.
They were yuck and efficient.
Twisted my ankle. Went in at 12, got X-ray done and saw a doctor, all finished at 13:35. exceeds my expectations????
What a joke, I had to pry the fact that we were going to have to wait at least several hours out of the staff in the small overcrowded waiting room as its their policy not to let the public know how bad (slow) the service is. I feel sorry for the staff, the city has undergone significant densification over the past decade, but zero improvements have been made to this facility to increase the capacity. Another fail by the government at managing their costs and making sure essential services are adequately provided.
Terrible hospital, not a single respect to people's health. We were just there with my 19-month-old baby. People are coughing, puking, almost every corner there was a sick person with CoVid symptoms. I felt super unsafe at this hospital. When I went and asked if we are going to wait longer nurse told me yeah because we are short stuff you have to wait.... I did not. I left the hospital with my ill baby because I did not want us to get more sick or get another virus from other people. This hospital was disgusting period.
I am not sure about the behind the scenes of the hospital but my grandma and I have waited well over 5 maybe even 6 hours in the ER. Without anyone even updating us on our queue time, it is very frustrating and tiring. I hope staff can be more tentative and helpful the the patients. (Everyone in the room I've talked to felt the same way)
Was there for heart pressure test just now. Dr Bhan and Mr Alwyn were very professional , patient and nice. Thank you!
Warning : Do Not take your Kids in an Emergency Here Worse child care I’ve ever Seen Took My Son Vomiting to Eger Hospital in Coquitlam They did Nothing Just gave him Som Tylenol( Which I could do it Myself!!!) and he vomited that all again No Blood test ! Nothing Had to take him Next day to BC Children Hospital they did take care of my Son Did all blood work Needed Please if you Can’t Diagnose , don’t try to just do what ever!! Specially when it comes to Kids! You could tell me take him To Children Hospital!!
Was seen in emergency by Dr. Green. I was very impressed with his attention to detail and the time he took to make sure I understood my injury. He was kind and understanding
I had day surgery at Eagle Ridge and all in all it was a very smooth experience. The nursing staff was kind and professional. The hospital is ageing and but I have no qualms recommending it.
the attending physician was rude and very arrogant it may be due to her young age she seemed more concerned with her fake tan .. her arrogance is going to be a future law suit for this hospital... everyone else was very nice helpful and professional
Was brought to emergency 2 times in a week. Once after a fall where I tore my rotator cuff and once by ambulance after my 1st ever seizure. Although it was disappointing that Eagle Ridge ER is not able to do EEGs as Royal Columbian and VGH do when someone has seizure, the treatment I received was wonderful. After 18 months of covid and all the stress they have been under, all the staff from the front desk, orderlies, nurses and doctors that I dealt with were so amazingly kind and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised by the experience I had here at Eagle Ridge. Thank you all for your hard work and continued kindness during these pandemic times.
I had a very great experience in day surgery at Eagle Ridge. Special thanks to my pre-op nurse Amy and post-op/recovery nurse Leanne.
My wife was in the emergency. She is under some major pain and I approached the nurse to inform her about the pain. The nurse said she will be there in a few minutes, no show. 30 minute later I approached again and I got the same response. It took them 1.5hr before they even came to check on her for her pain. Where is the patient care? Horrible patient care at this hospital!!!
Poor Emergency service
Staff are amazing. Thank you for your frontline work.
they need more doctors. waiting 3 hours during the weekday from 3pm.
Horrible horrible treatment by some nurses. Very rude and disrespectful no care at all to being in severe pain!. As a nurse I know they cannot do much but it doesnt take much to show some care and respect to a patient.. only reason this is not a 1 star is because of the amazing head nurse they had on dutie hellen! She showed me so much respect and showed genuine care and really took control of the situation and made me feel better. I cannot say the same thing about the nurse named Anita she is shorter ( to be able to identify her). Extremely rude instead of try to make a situation better her arrogance and tone of voice is atrocious. Our tax paying dollars are paying for her to work here so she can just disrespect the patients?? Fraser health you need to speak to your nurse named anita as this is not acceptable to anyones standards
Literally worst hospital ever. I was supposed to have my knee surgery here and they called in 12 hours before it telling me it’s cancelled cause they didn’t have the equipment for children to stay overnight. I don’t recommend booking a surgery at this hospital.
I feel like I could write a novel on how slow and painful any and every visit to this ER is. With 3 boys we have had our share of trips to the ER. Anytime we have had to go it’s a minimum of 6 hours of your life no matter what. It’s wait, wait and yes you guessed it more waiting. It’s ridiculous! You tell the same story to 5 different people, why? You are there because you feel horrible but you have to keep telling your story over and over. Why would it need to take this long and why would you have to keep repeating your problem?. If they focused on one person until their problem could be solved wouldn’t that make more sense? None of the staff moves like they are in any kind of hurry to help and get you on your way. They do not value your time or care about how terrible you feel. They move at their pace and leave you sitting around for hours and I do mean hours! It’s so upsetting that people are treated this way. Patients are just a “job” they are in no hurry to help anyone. Dropped my 19 year old off at 9am for major stomach pains, he is still waiting 7 hours later. He’s thrown up a dozen times. Seen 2 doctors and 4 nurses and he’s still sitting in a chair in the hallway waiting for a diagnosis. Ultrasound wasn’t good enough they decided after making him wait 90 minutes for the results now he has to wait for an X-ray. He’s told he can’t eat or drink until they know what’s wrong. SEVEN hours later he’s still waiting for them to give him the attention he needs to get it sorted. Sitting in a hall dry heaving into a bag! Waiting for SEVEN HOURS IN MAJOR PAIN!!!! So mad!!
“COVID ROOM” Just seat there we will be with you in 10 hrs
My doughter had jnjeries and bleeding from her arm and leg. We waited at least 3 hours to be called. No body cares about patients.Sorry for BC Health. Poor service for canadians.
Very amiable staff
Worst hospital I've ever been to. No mental health help at night. No mental health medication available at night. ER doctor was the rudest doctor I've ever met. Sat in ER for 5 hours to just be told they couldn't help me and wouldnt get me to the hospital that would. Id rather suffer than ever go there again.
Terrible
I recently was in the emergency ward of this hospital, there was a nurse with an accent that put a blood pressure cuff on me that was far too tight. I yelled and told her it was too tight, her response was just relax and it won't hurt so much . I'm 59yrs old I've never had a cuff hurt me that way, when she left I loosened it off. When I got home I had several bruises on pressure points of that cuff.
When things got serious i was taken care of very well. Also the vegan food is really good!!!
Had an asthma attack brought in by ambulance..they did nothing
Very nice & friendly staff
Rude and unprofessional staff
Eagle Ridge Hospital is by far the best hospital I have ever been to. The staff are kind and caring and very thorough with questions to make sure all is tikity boo and I am talking ALL staff I had interactions with!!!!!. I would go back there if I could. To far from me though. Thank you for your excellent services and keep up with all your hard work.
Good hospital
If it is something serious, do your best to get to Royal Columbian or Surrey Memorial. Royal Columbian ER is better staffed and Surrey Memorial has better equipment and procedures. We have been to all 3 and the worse is Eagleridge. By no fault of the doctors, they are just understaffed with limited and old equipment. Every ER has long wait times, that is a fact. My main complaint was going in, the registration/triage didn’t bother checking my o2, heart rate or blood pressure like Royal Columbian. This is critical to do so triage can better determine how urgent your case is. I waited 45min before anyone checked my heart rate/o2/blood pressure. There was no line. What if my o2 levels were very low? What if I had hypoxia? They just didn’t incorporate it into their registration procedure like royal Columbian. At the ER, some guy passed out and they needed a gurney to lift him onto a bed. The machine used ran out of battery half way and they forced him onto a bed while he screamed in pain. The machine should of been maintained and checked for battery periodically… and They also didn’t have an extra one! Alcohol pads used to wipe my arm for bloodwork was dry as hell (probably old) and the tape used already lost their stickiness within seconds. Overall, Underfunded and understaffed. Surrey has better facilities simply because it’s newer. Waiting rooms are larger in both Royal Columbian and Surrey Memorial so everyone can be properly spaced out….Or at least walk through safely. Patients with covid like symptoms are walled off with a board/curtain in the ER, everyone could hear her coughing and talking about her fever. Everyone in the ER was breathing the same air.. I was surprised patients like these are so close to others..a tent outside would of been better if they had the money for it. Do not take your kids or elderly to Eagleridge, only if you are young and somewhat in good health, they will be able to handle it. Doctors are great, some also work at Royal Columbian as well.
Smooth sailing through an efficiently run emergency unit. Each member of the team focused on doing a good job except for one who was observed to not change bed sheets in between patients. Outstanding performance by the doctor who went above and beyond to see that I got quality service and sided on the side of safety. Privacy was respected and some members even had a sense of humor. Now to search for follow up procedures at a faster pace though....
Took my son to the hospital for emergency, staffs were friendly and waiting time was reasonable under pandemic situation and Christmas holiday (under staff). Nurses and Doctor were attentive and efficient. My son needed stitches from an accident and the nurses were patience and kind, as my son was scare to have his first stitch. After the stitches, my son even received a Christmas present (a popsicle) from the nurse to praise for his braveness. Thank you to the team for their great help and professionalism.
Worst hospital in B.C. hands down. Maybe even all of Canada. The most awful rude and unpleasant nurses and doctors. I simply asked how much longer to write my prescription so I could leave because there was a taxi waiting outside for me and Before hand almost 1hour earlier I even mentioned that a taxi will be coming in about 1h. One of the old hag nurse barked in reply to me to say that this is an emergency department and I need to be patient. I had been patient for the last 3 hours. I had no problems being patient until I saw you all chatting and talking about what you saw on Netflix the day before while I am waiting for my paperwork so I can go home. I hope that conversation about netflix was worth it. Last time I ever come to eagle ridge. Even if my jugular is cut open and I only have enough time to make it to eagle ridge I'd rather die than suffer inside that hospital ever again. And I'm going to make sure that this goes viral. This horrible hospital needs a wake up call, the director fired and all new fresh management that didnt fake their way through university
Decided on royal Colombian instead cause the receptionist on the phone was so rude. These things matter, believe it or not.
Terrible service. Patients are waiting and they are sick But staffs doesnt care patienrs sincerely, they dont listen to patients.we were waiting for 7hours to see a doctor and we met doctor for 5mins and the doctor told us go home cuz there is no spot. And staffs were laughing and talking each other while the patients are suffering with sickness. If one of your family member is sick and go to emergency, will you do that too? Seriously, they should think if that job is fit to them. Thanks for show us how Canadian emergency systems is worse.
Many thanks to the Doctors and staff at Eagle Ridge Hospital in Port Moody. I had day surgery there today and had high quality service from the professional people there. Sincerely, Thi Le
A big thank you to all the nurses in REHAB without their care and compassion I would not have been able to achieve what I did. A special thank you to JoEllen and Juliet for all their support to my family. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
I was here for day surgery. All of the staff that I encountered were helpful and kind.
The emergency room is a joke. I am not surprised though as this hospital is notoriously known as the worst in the lower mainland. Unfortunately it is the closest for many people who have literally no choice to come there, but what a mistake. They claim ''working out the kinks'' of their new ER department is the reason they are slow, or ''short staffed'', well whoever is in charge of the ER Department should plan better for these types of things, after all its an EMERGENCY room. I went in with a heart episode and had to leave SIX hours later because I couldn't wait any longer and my heart had calmed down by then. People who came in AFTER me were seen within an hour with a broken or fractured bone. They claim to see patients based on priority but that is absolutely false. The receptionists are cold hearted and should choose a better suited profession. I get the nurses and doctors are doing what they can, and I am grateful for that. But whoever is in charge, and the triage receptionists need to go and bring in people who are better suited for those positions. I get it, there's going to be bad reviews of every ER department, but it literally cant get any worse than this place. Be better prepared because someone(s) is going to lose their life WAITING, due to your incompentence.
They are so unhelpful, i went there for the first time and tried to ask from the staff there to help me out and they just pretended like they didnt even here me. It's a hospital, and there is a reason im in the emergency. Emergency registration was rude and not helpful at all with our questions.
WORST HOSPITAL EVER BEWARE. Took my 11 month old baby here as he had a fever and was throwing up. They said he has covid symptoms so they made us wait outside in the cold. We opted to wait in our car as it was cold and informed the nurse. She said okay. Checked back in 1 hour later they said there was a shift change and the previous nurse didn't inform the new nurse we were waiting in the car. Then we proceeded to wait another hour long. I went ans asked how much longer and they said that they have our number and they'll call us when it's our turn. They said it was busy. My baby is only 11 months old and if he is having covid symptoms then it should be looked at immediately. They don't know how to triage. Worst nurses were!!!!
If anything major is wrong with you do not come here as they have to send you to Royal Columbian to get procedure done but they hold you for 5 days of punishment till they can send you Nurses are not experienced in taking blood poke you 5 times before they hit a vein you starve for 5 days on broth and jello cause they can't do procedure here and your stuck on liquid diet after nurses poke you full of holes they won't put cream on the holes they made in you they have no bath or tvs here so your stuck in bed stinking and bored to they move you to a hospital that can do the procedure so if something serious is wrong ho somewhere else before coming here
Went in for a procedure and found the staff to be wonderful! They were friendly, very efficient and professional. They even had me finished early.
I love this hospital. The care they provide is top notch
Long waiting times. My friend got into a car accident and had to wait 2 hours to get checked. Only to know that there was nothing wrong with him even though he was in a lot of pain and cannot stand or walk. The doctor just said try to walk by yourself. He was sent home after been told everything is okay with him. The next day the hospital called and said there is a bone fracture. Very rude doctor and seems like they do not know what they are doing at all.
I have taken people to this hospital for various reasons for 6 years. If you add all the visits I have had together to this hospital in total it would be around 25 times. I know the doctors by name. Unfortunately this hospital staff is very unprofessional and lack treating patients right with respect. They look at people as a number. That is most of them but not 100% because some are amazing and love their jobs, but those ones don't stay because the culture and the management of this hospital is very different from what their values are. I have just waited for a long time before I review this hospital but today was a breaking point. So a very close family member of mine called me and I drove her there. They first of all didn't have wheelchairs and we needed a wheelchair and I asked the staff they said we don't know and passed me to other individuals. The person in the front were you check in first didn't even look at me in the eye for once and it felt like she was just a robot. And we checked in and she got a bed after 45 minutes which is super uncommon because the waiting times are insane in this hospital... I won't continue the story because I want to make a point. Here is the point: the health care system in Canada is the problem (the structure of it). Because it is free and the patients don't pay directly to them, it makes the structure of doing business at the hospital in a way that the staff no longer care about the patient because no matter what they are getting paid, the management doesn't care because no matter what they are getting paid, therefore there is no competition and it makes this happen in the hospital that the management don't care about what people say and I'm 100% sure that Eagle Ridge Hospital management doesn't look at their google rating because if they looked at it they would see that everyone is mad and angry with the service that they provide.
I had the worst experience in my life i cut my finger and top of my finger was completly gone i went there and blood was runnig from my hand like water hose they asked me register first and i was waiting on that situation for 1 hour and after an hour i saw doctor he just burned the top of my finger to stop the blood but i swear he didnt use anything to Sterilization and after 2 days i find out i got very bad infection on my finger i took knife and cut my wound and took out infection by myself because i could not trust them and back to this hospital.
