I went as I was concerned about my son who’s fever wasn’t going down from 104 at home: We waited for one hour so I went up to a nurse and requested if she could check his temperature and if it had gone down I would take him home. The nurse was so rude to me. I was shocked as I expected a little compassion or empathy. Maybe I expected too much but I left very disappointed.

My mom went to the hospital because she has pneumonia in both lungs had oxygen but it wasn't getting better. She went to the hospital and they left her in a room with oxygen and gave her nothing to help. She called us and told us that now she can't walk we had to go and pick her up since they were not doing anything to help. I'm so glad that health care system in Brampton is so bad that people don't even get treated when they need to.

Afzal Abdul Ghafoor (AlAfzal)

J wouldn't recommend anyone going there ER no matter what. When I went there the staff was rude and careless I went to another hospital the doctor there said I could've died if I waited any longer cuz I had internal bleeding. Plz don't ask for IDs and credit card in ER. People go to ER only when it's an emergecy

One star for actually getting the treatment (read full for details) and other for the doctor. Rest missing ones are for the fact that even EMERGENCY will need atleast 5 of your hours before you get to see the doctor. The nurses will call you and start talking about their personal life about how they bought pandora bracelet etc before they even say Hi to you. I am sure government knows that they have less doctors here in Canada as all the doctors here prefer to go to States for practice as the pay cheque is three times more than here and that makes sense for them.... BUT THEY STILL WON'T MAKE IT EASIER FOR FOREIGNER DOCTORS TO COME HERE AND PRECTISE..... #politics #freehealthcare #workingforyou

Triage nurses should be ashamed of themselves the way they treat patients. They are rude and insensitive. They rush patients before listening to their concerns, speak over them, and speak with a condescending attitude.

Bikram Bir Singh

No civic behavior at Brampton Civic. If a few hours, days, weeks won't make your condition worse go some better place. The staff from entrance till exit is super rude. They feel like they are doing you a favor. Someone should slap sense in them and make them realize that the taxes we pay are what run this place(including salaries).

One of the worst hospital I’ve ever seen. I walk-in there just to get a check up because my nose was bleeding and the receptionist said if you don’t have a health card then you have to pay $1000 for just visiting. Well I don’t know if they are providing treatment or giving you a check up in some kinda luxury style. I’m also a worker at Sickkids hospital Toronto and i have been working there from 6 months never seen these things that you have pay $1000 for just visiting infact their first priority is treatment not payment . BRAMPTON CIVIC HOSPITAL IS A TRUE IMAGE OF DEPICTING MONEY OVER HUMANITY. I’ll suggest everyone don’t go there unless emergency. There are lot more doctors who care about patients first.

I thought this hospital was decent. Dr levey needs to move on. He's terrible bedside manor Just a paycheck for him and I can tell. Maybe new year be less aggressive. Ur the sain mind dr, so I assume. Don't see him if you have a choice. I canr say what I want to. But you her the just

I'd rate less if possible. Came here with my spouse to find out the gender of our first child. They rushed the appointment, and refused to take the time to do a thorough ultrasound. They just wanted to get it done and move onto the next patient. On top of that, they refused to let me into yet ANOTHER ultrasound appointment. My spouse left in tears as she felt robbed of our gender reveal. Now we refuse to go here, private practices will actually take the time to be thorough and ensure the patient leaves feeling stress free. definitely worth the cost to use private ultrasound clinics. NEVER GO TO BRAMPTON CIVIC...

Bad service especially the ATC unit nurses, very rude and they seriously don’t care , i was there two days ago with harmful pain because of kidney stones and the doctor asked the nurse to give me a pain killer three times and she didn’t responded, she was wasting her time and passed beside me many times, looked at me and didnt care while i was having unbearable pain.

I want to give a special thanks to the staff, nurses and doctors at Brampton Civic Hospital. Even with the shortage of staff, beds, recourses and COVID restrictions, they provided healthcare second to none. Being 64 years old and having my first operation ever I was nervous, scared and anxious yet they helped me through the whole procedure making it as positive an experience as one could hope.

My dad had a stroke. We brought him to brampton civic through ambulance. He came in better conditon but hospital staff delayed his treatment and while waiting he became unconscious. If the hospital had started treatment right away , he would have been in a better condition rather then being paralyzed for entire life. They made his life and our family life miserable for life long. They need to take a strict action regarding their triage nurses because their negligence make proples life miserable. And unless management doesnot get involved , nothing will change. I will never advise any one to go to brampton civic emergency. The damage that the emergency staff has done in .my fathers life, it cannot be compensated with any thing. So be careful before any one comes to this hospital. And paramedics didnot give us any choice which hospital to go to. I think paramedics should give u two closest hospital options. I never wanted to bring my dad here but paramedics didnot agree to take him to any other hospital.

This is the worst hospital I have ever seen. My husband had to have kidney stone surgery. He had to wait almost a day for emergency surgery. I was unable to call hospital’s number to get update and booking an appointment to visit my husband. I called hundreds time but it hang up all the time. In the meantime, they should have done a good job of preparing and assessing the stone situation before surgery, but they let my husband go home after 2 hours of resuscitation. They showed my husband a painkiller and scheduled a phone call appointment for a checkup next month. My husband felt better after 3-4 days with pain relievers but the days that followed were a nightmare. He was in more and more pain and went to the hospital again but they did nothing but give him more pain medicine because they assumed he was only in pain after the surgery. After 2 days my husband was in pain and could not sleep despite taking painkillers, my husband vomited a lot of yellow fluid and we called an ambulance yesterday night. Finally, by this afternoon they came to the conclusion that they had left gallstones during the surgery. They only do minimum work to keep patient alive. They “KNOW” 100% that the patient will suffer continued pain and it will affect the patient's life and they can do the maximum to help the patient reduce the chance of re-infection to a minimum. BUT this is their laziness that makes the patient relapse faster gallstones. Besides, the patient needs to continue the treatment regimen after gallstone surgery with: Deworming and parasites; Choleretic, antispasmodic biliary tract; Antibiotic against cholangitis. But they didn’t give my husband anything. It’s horrible service.

This hospital is the worst hospital you could possibly go to! If I could give zero stars I would! I was there about eight months ago for when my son was born. Such a horrible experience! I was scheduled to go to the hospital on a specific day to get induced but of course there's never enough stuff, the stuff always take their time and the staff are extremely rude! They told me they didn't have a nurse nor a room for me so I had to walk around the hospital. Go back three hours later because I was starting to feel a lot of pain. But they still didn't have a nurse but they had a room. Three hours later I finally got my nurse. Long story short because I waited so long in the hospital, was in such pain and so stressed I couldn't have a natural birth and I had to have a C-section plus there were complications with my son. On top of that they told my husband that he could come into the room with me for my c-section but they never brought him in untill late and the only reason why they brought him in was because I was freaking out and in a lot of pain. The only good thing that came out of this was my son. I have to admit the nurses that had to look after my son were wonderful. They took really good care of him. But all in all I would never recommend this hospital to anyone.

Been going in and out of the hospital because i have been diagnosed with cellulitis only thing they have done is told me i have an infection with no solution to help it finally on my 5th visit advised by my clinic i got a dose of iv and was told to come to emergency before 1pm the next day to receive a second dose i saw the doctor at 12:30 and had no record for a second dose went to go and get me set up with one and a home care system after waiting 10 min a nurse directed me to the waiting room to wait woth no promise of being called it is 1:30 as I write this worst place ever

Arnelli Ayala

We went to the emergency of this hospital and the nurses are so super rude to patient they are arrogant as if they own your life. Supposed to be emergency but we are waiting here for the past 2 hour and still advises to wait until we are called. This is worst than third world country medical systems.

Cindij v

The worst hospital I've ever been to. My mother died in that horrible place. While she was in palliative care and had c-diif they left her in a soiled diaper all night after we kept calling for a nurse. I stayed with her a few nights and evening nurses complained about caring for her and also my Mom and I having full time care. Well is that not what they are there for ? My mother was the sweetest and most gentle woman and these butchers killed her.

Ankita Sharma

Want to give zero star but there is other option. So disgusting experience. We visited here first time and my friend has a surgery. He wants interpreter and the lady standing who is working as a screener said interpreter is there. So she didn’t let me go inside the hospital. No interpreter helped him. He has a urgent surgery waiting from last year. And staff is ridiculous specially punjabi people who always speak lie. Hate this disgusting hospital

Adero Reid-Thomas-Dobson

0/10 do not recommend. I have never encountered a less polite group of medical professionals. From the first person at the door to the person administering your treatment, every person is extremely rude and has the worst attitude. In all my going to this hospital (it’s the closest to where I live) I have only ever encountered 1 polite worker.

Rukshika De Zoysa

This is by far the WORST hospital ever. I came into the ER this morning because my wife had an eye infection, arrived at 7 in the morning and not one SINGLE nurse came to check on my wife’s condition. Came back took my wife to her workplace at Etobicoke General and literally within minutes she was helped and referred to an eye specialist. I highly recommend going to any other hospital. STAY FAR AWAY FROM BRAMPTON CIVIC HOSPITAL.

Kevin Kjellstrom

Basically it's the same as anywhere else. No one can really help you except for yourself. Basically if you're lost go here and they show you back to the road that you walk alone. Why are you acting like I'm saying something negative? You are all evil and toxic. You let children suffer and starve just because they're trapped on different land.

Nat

It's a given that emergency care in Ontario, at any city hospital is going to be hectic with long waits- but as an in-patient, my experience was a positive one (despite dealing with my illness). My unit was clean, nurses, porters, doctors, dietitians and cleaning staff all positive interactions , the meal plans were much better than other hospitals I've been admitted to and I felt I was given the space, privacy and support needed to recover. This was just my experience of a week-long stay.

Olena EmCe

Staff is always helpful and kind. Hospital Parking is always expensive. One thing I didn't like was when I called them to reschedule my appointment at fracture clinic. They picked up the phone, said good morning and how can they help me today and put me on hold saying nothing.. I explained what I want to do and I got known after nobody were listening to me! That was rude. I understand they get a lot of calls but the lady could say anything she puts me on hold or something. Other thing is time.. nobody cares that you spend almost all day there having appointment at 8:30 am.. I've seen the doctor at 11am! That's ridiculous...

milu patel

very poor healthcare service proving by supporting staff and they are giving training during baby delivery time. Trainer took stretches without doctor observation very poor and unprofessional.

Joseph Bona Senior

Well, at the hospital, I was able to secure parking right by the main door! (Accessible Parking) there are plenty of parking accessible or not! The main doors are opened for people to sign up for the vaccine on the left, and for people with an apointment to see a doctor for tests and such on the right! They are following all covid protocols, so be sure to wear face covering, or they can provide you with a mask free of charge! At either window, you will be asked the usual covid questions and pointed in the right direction! I had little problems, was early for my appointment so had to wait a bit before I could go up! All went well after that and I was on my way home in no time!

Geri D

Understanding we're in stressful times but today the staff I encountered were RUDE and their Security were RUDE and dismissive. I went to the vaccine clinic and the IGNORANT intake worker, was calling out people's phone numbers at the top of her lungs. The "sanitation person" was "SANITIZING" WITH THE SAME WIPE, PERSON AFTER PERSON. When I pointed out, that's not proper sanitizing, the worker and security guard laughed and were snarky.

Amal Sreenivas

awful covid testing experience. took 5 days to get my result. even fun is, my wife's result didn't came yet. been a week now. I tested positive and NOBODY form the concerned department called me or tell me what to do next. worst ever. never expected this form this health facility.

Jiggles A.J.

Huge Hospital. Do yourself a favor, and search exactly where you have to go, before you arrive here!!! Especially, if you have trouble walking. * Otherwise, I've been coming here since it opened. I've always found The Nurses and Dr's to be very friendly and Respectful. * Parking is Not Cheap!!! $ 26 for an hour and a half. That was an Unpleasant surprise. However, All in all, from the X-Ray lab, to M.R.I. to the Neurologists, I found them to be quick and very helpful.

Sonu S

Incredible experience in administering the vaccine. Very well organized, efficient, and no wait time. Highly recommend getting your covid vaccine at William Osler in Brampton.

Ann Marie McGrath

Definitely the worst. My sister has been waiting for her surgery - it’s the third day now. They keep telling her she’ll be having it, then next thing you know it’s canceled. No food the first two nights. Just terrible! So unorganized. Do not go to this hospital for emergency.

Rhonda Lee

I stayed at this hospital in the mental health ward . I have to say this hospital is terrible . The mental health nurses are so rude, not all but quite a few and they don’t know how to talk to people who are suffering with depression. My son also had four stays in the child mental health unit and the staff just do not know much about mental illness and they don’t communicate well with the parents about their child . One psychiatrist in particular is not very good with kids. Apparently not a lot of kids are fond of him . I’m so glad I’m in Malton now .

Parent had a appendectomy, the doctors sent them home after one day. For one full week they were in pure pain. Several visits to the hospital and morphine they were not able to figure out what was the problem. The following week doctors realized it was a full rupture and there was an infection. Why didn't they realize this during the first surgery? Follow up visits and lengthy stays, waiting days for the doctor to correct her issues. After a three week ordeal, anti-biotics, there was improvement. New issues now persist, where there is still pain and having to go to the washroom consistently. Several more trips, the staff were not able to understand what the problem is. During their stay the staff most of the staff were rude, disrespectful and ignorant. One incident where the doctor told my parent they didn't need to take the anti-biotics anymore, the nurse filled the IV unit with the same medicine. These are very strong narcotics my parent was taking, and that foolish mistake by the nurse caused agony for several more days. This hospital is a joke. Also the people who go there, who complain for the simplest of reasons like 7 hours waits. Perhaps, don't go there for a simple cough or cold. You're a waste of tax payer money and time.

Satnam Gill

I was admitted here a couple years back and it's gotten worst. A simple 30 minute surgery ended up being 2 months because the doctors here are incompetent and carless. As for present day; came here yesterday and patients get more sympathy at a grocery line checkout then the actual ER. Nurses here are horrid creatures that don't know how to show any compassion; rather then correcting one anothers vial attitude they promote and cheer for one another after speaking to patients in a disrespectful manner. Tbh if an individual doesn't know how to treat another human with some decency you shouldnt be in the heal care profession. P.s the person who's gunna reply and is going to suggest forwarding it to there experience department. Kindly copy and paste.

Joanna “y0ungst3r” Buluran

I have an appointment at 2:40 pm today with a psychiatrist via phone and now it's 5 pm still got no phone call I call them left a message still no answer what's going on??

Kiran Kumar

Worst experience. I am having 18 months baby and staff is not friendly. I have seen the rating but at the time this was only open for emergency . Nurses needs to be trained how to treat babies. My wife told me that nurse was saying baby is acting of crying. God help these people.

Angelica Brevetti

I have been to Brampton Civic many times for my Mom and it's always been a positive experience. Today in particular I was hesitant to bring her in due to all the Covid scares. I had no choice and once again from Triage, registration, RAZ department, the nurses, x-rays, porters and amazing Doctor it's been a great experience. I thank all the front line workers for their dedication and thank God we live in Canada with great health care compared to the rest of the world. Unless you have a illness that takes you in and out of the hospital, people have no idea. So please be nice to your Frontline workers.

This hospital deserves 0 stars! I came with my wife to the ER, she had bleeding, adnominal pain, and unusual discharge as she's pregnant and we wanted to make sure everything is okay with the baby and her. We were told she would get blood work and an ultrasound. After 5.5 hours they told us the bloodwork they did only told them her blood type and nothing related to if she is okay or the baby. How does that make any sense? A woman is bleeding, and you don't even check to see if the baby is okay, or even look down there? Nurse told us we would get an ultrasound, only to find out that it's closed??? How can a hospital have it closed, emergencies can happen at any time and day 24-7, 365. The doctors and nurses here are so incompetent at their jobs, they'd rather be laughing, telling stories and drinking Tim Hortons than doing any type of work. They told us to come back tomorrow to get an ultrasound. Why would we come into emergency just to be told to come tomorrow? Nothing was accomplished at this place at all, except an expensive parking pass, wasted time and energy.

Ishadhya Sanyal

I wish I could rate them minus. The old lady nurse dealing with me was very nice and supportive. However, the gynaecologist had her attitude on 9th cloud. Legit came down to meet me for 5 minutes after I waited for 9 hours. And, doesn't discuss with me anything regarding my situation. Just rushed me to the surgery to be the only solution. I didn't feel right at that hospital and left. Luckily I went to other hospital in Oakville and they treated me so nicely. Big big no to Brampton Civic Hospital. Staff is busy joking around in ER while patients are in pain. Bunch of fools.

Akshit Parashar

It's already been 4 and half hrs and they can't even go through some regular tests like ECG,blood test,X-ray. Too much slow procedure for such a renowned hospital.

Pallavi mohan kumar

I had my c-section before lockdown and the doctor was very friendly and caring.nurses we're very helpful but sometimes rude.

Ashani Robinson

My cuz went last night from 8pm with pain and bleeding and got her turn at after 12 am. Yah Need to understand. This place will n might take ur people.

Brampton

Party and have a good time. Psych ward are real friendly too. Party. Just party. What more could a young guy want ? 3 Stars.

Jasvir Kaur

I twisted my ankle , so need to go emergency.. attended by Doctor Wang. He is really kind & humble, listen carefully my problem. It was 4 hours for waiting ... can understand because it is emergency.. overall my experience is good. Appreciated for their hard work and patience.

Meenal

Very bad management. Nursing staff is very ruthless and didn’t even listen the problem of patients. They didn’t even fully trained as being the part of the emergency ward. They poke 2-3 times to me and didn’t even find the veins and spread lot much blood on the bed. They behave very bad to the patients.

Mrs. VIP

With all the negative reviews, I was really scared to have my baby at this hospital. Once I realized I couldn't change the hospital, I decided to kind of accept my fate and think positive. I have to give a HUGE shout out to Abigail and Nikita the nurses who were assigned to me, I received nothing but exceptional service from both of these ladies. I was happy this is where my daughter was born. I just want to say THANK YOU, please keep being as compassionate and amazing as you are. You matter ♥

Lara Desir

I know that some people on here may have had bad experiences here, but I've been there a couple times and I believe that the staff did well. You do have a wait, like with most hospitals but my experience went well especially with emergency staff members. Thanks

Emily Grinnell

Despite my circumstances, I had a very positive experience at Brampton Civic Hospital. Friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable staff. I received the best care for my day surgery. Don't judge a hospital or medical facility based on their Google Star rating. All of the staff are hard-working individuals who deserve the utmost respect. The hospital was very clean and organized. Front desk staff were very helpful. Remember: You are attending a hospital, not a vacation resort.

I had to have a small procedure in Jan 2020 and it got pushed due to emergency surgeries. It was annoying because I was all prepped and ready to be wheeled in when I was told to get dressed and go home! Not the fault of the staff as emergencies happen. However I went back a couple of weeks later to get the procedure done and the surgeon on staff almost didn't do the procedure as he had a bone to pick with the doctor who scheduled it but was going to take it out on me by saying he wouldn't do it when I was all ready to be wheeled into the operating room. I was so mad at him for his posturing but he ultimately did the procedure (which was a short simple one). I thought the staff was good both times but I was NOT impressed with the egotistical surgeon! Definitely would never use him again.

Sanu Kumar

If you need emergency services, this is not the place. They always have an excuse saying there are a lot of people that currently need help. Or there is a high volume of patients. I was charged 1000 dollars as registration for 1st time for emergency services but there seems to be no difference between normal and a thousand bucks. At least a quicker process would have been appreciated.

Elaine “Liverbirds711” Hall

Drs Wong, Lo and Pham and the nurses have shown my son exceptional top quality of care. This is not easy to come by these days. I am so proud Brampton Civic Hospital is a part of this community. Caring, respectful and experienced. Thank you for all your support. Elaine, Andrew, Ishmael and family.

Shawn Astrafallie

bad experience with staff threating my mother about "leaving my 85 year old grandmother in the waiting room after a surgery". we don't live in the area and will take some time getting to the hospital. I find the staff to be uncompassionate when your at your most venerable. my mother is 69 years old and to have a staff-member talk down to her i find was quite appalling. Staff members needs sensitivity training. I am with the government, cut back on staff and salary...most don't deserve it. When i confronted the staff, she blamed the bad behavior on her colleague, not once did any of them apologized. senior staff members apologized. this is the second such incident at a hospital.

jaswant bajwa

This place is a junk, if you are really lucky you will get into good hands but that chance is too low you can say that less than 1%. The doctors here are capable of knee replacements or heart stents. I have lost my mom here she remained in the hospital for 5 months and all the doctors had different opinions of her sickness. With their GREAT EFFORTS she ends in the bed. Then gradually she starts losing strength and getting week and finally I lost my mom All the great doctors didn’t find the reason and they didn’t have any answer. Every 1-2 weeks new doctor , new test, new opinions. This could be possible or this could be possible. We will try this, that. These doctors who plays with other people lives will feel the pain when they will experience the same in their lives and you deserve it and will definitely gonna face it. I am a Punjabi. But in the hospital most of the nurses especially Vietnamese, Chinese communities I have really respect from the bottom of my heart for there help and support in the toughest time of my life. I do have the names of those doctors too. All I will say to that doctors Nd nurses that our community is known for good cause and for helping others. Just think one time about the leanings from our parents and gurus. What you guys are doing here ??

Brampton civic hospital is Worst place to visit especially emergency section. I took my 1.5 years old daughter with 40 degree temperature and lip rashes with deep cut marks and blood coming out. The doctor first show up in several hours and didn’t bother to enter the room and check patient. Gave blood test and chest X-ray. Again after several hours doctor shows up and said it’s lower chest infection and gave antibiotic. I asked about lips he replied it’s ok just will go by it’s own. Later within 24 hrs of antibiotic my daughter condition started getting worse and she stopped eating and drinking leading dehydration. I rush to sick kids Toronto, their doctors took all tests again and diagnosed that chest it’s totally ok and prescribed antibiotic is wrong so they immediately stopped that. Doctors were surprised at sick kids about the diagnosis at Brampton civic hospital. They started their treatment and in 24 hrs they diagnosed Kawasaki disease and started treatment in time ( one of major symptoms for this disease is high not going fever and lips cut marks with blood which that qualified doctor in Brampton hospital ignored even upon asking rather didn’t bother to touch or come in 1m of kid). Doctors at sick kids checked everything by selves and stated treatment. Because of negligence in Brampton hospital or whatever my daughter experience high critical situation in first two days in sick kids. Strongly recommending to avoid this place especially for kids and requesting management to take action about such staff and ignorance. Thanks God and then to sick kids that my daughter is in safe hands right now.

Worst place to give birth. It took 4 hours to get a room once I was dilated. I had horrible intense back to back contractions due to being induced and needed pain relief. The doctor was not available to administer pain relief of any sort. Once I had gotten a room the doctor took another 2 hours to administer the IV which I needed otherwise they would not give me epidural. It was so busy there you hardly saw a doctor. I will never go back there EVER. ????????

We Canadias talk so highly about Privacy. Today I registered at the CT Scan department. They have my Health card and they want to confirm my Address Phone number and the Full name. There was a lady after me they ask the same details from her as well. She was loud. If anyone is interested there she goes, now some one will have her Full Name, Full address and the Phone number. Is this information enough for someone to access her information. I think so. Where is the privacy now? Can they get these information some other way. May be the Last 4 digits of your phone number. Street name only or ask if there is a change in your address and if there is how about give a just a pice of paper to write the address. This way no one in the sitting area will know your details.

Extremely sad to be giving this rating to the hospital that had taken such excellent care of me and my newborn son in the labour and maternity ward in the past. Had to go in for an emergency COVID test for our family of 4, as directed by the Ministry of Health Peel region, since my 10 month old son exhibited one of the many Covid symptoms while at daycare. Having to take in a 2 year old and a 10 month old to the ER at a time way past their bedtime, after a long day of work was hard enough. But the 4+ hours long wait that went well past midnight before a doctor could see us extremely demanding and strenuous on the little ones and us! When at the end of the fourth hour when we still hadn’t been seen by a doctor, we decided to leave after letting the nurse know(a very sweet lady indeed) and apologised for appearing to walk away when actually we were doing it only because the kids were sleepy and loud and getting inconsolable..but we had barely stepped out of the main exit doors when another nurse chased us down and literally yelled across the parking lot at us for being rude and abusing the government money(really?? :( ) was very insulting to be spoken to like we were the abusers when in fact it was us who felt abused! When I tried to explain that we didn’t mean to be rude and had waited for 4 hours already and only left because of the kids and the time being so late, she was very dismissive and unwilling to hear me out...This was a nurse whom we hadn’t seen until then while waiting for the doctor..She worked in the ER around 12-12.30am, 8th August 2020. Though the wait was bad, we understand that this is a busy hospital and sometimes other trauma patients come before us...but the rude insensitive and insulting words of the last nurse we spoke to was absolutely unnecessary and unkind Once again- good job to the maternity ward staffs and all the other lovely people working the ER!

Kraig Gallivan

Rude, condescending, two faced staff. Nurses don't care about anyone but themselves. Doctors are practically useless and never give a proper answer to even the simplest of questions. Arrived at midnight at the emergency FOR AN EMERGENCY and was barely acknowledged or informed of anything. Apparently it's everyone's first day there because no one can give an estimate of time. It took 9 hours to be transferred two times and finally have a doctor do an assessment. Another nine hours later and they still haven't said what's happening. I watched a nurse struggle to draw blood; stabbing at a vein at least eight times per arm. This hospital is an embarrassment. When approaching any nurse or doctor they avoid eye contact and move away to continue socializing, as if children on a playground. When asked when the doctor would be coming a clerk said he was just consulting with another doctor. Said doctor was a few feet behind her, and I had been listening to his conversation. He was talking about cars with the other doctor. I lost respect for nurses and doctors because of Brampton Civic Hospital.

#williamcivichospital sent my dad home last night with his tubes still in his veins. When I called back the cardiology dept and spoke with his nurse. Nurse said she forgot and told me to remove them myself if I didn't want to drive him all the way back? (A 85 year old fall risk, fragil with onset of dementia in below zero temperatures.) Also due to them decreasing his recently increased meds to settle him down, he became unsettled. Fell on Tuesday, no referral for sitter (psw) to stay with him as previously needed as he is a fall risk. The hospital health care team can, again find a million and one excuses, to providing substandard, care and lack of knowledge, but History Keeps Repeating itself. We are at more risk and danger the longer we stay at William Osler. Hospital funding is being spent somewhere ( I'd rather not say)Instead of much needed overhead to run the hospital to standards, to keep our community healthy !! SHAMEFUL!! HISTORY KEEPS REPEATING ITSELF!!

Terrible hospital, we came for a maternity appointment and arrived 15 min early. We searched for the right wing for 20 min, every desk would send us in different directions and every employee had attitude, especially those indian ladies at pediatrician clinic. Nobody would help us and all made u feel like unwelcomed in this hospital although we had an appointment. Super rude environment...stay away

I had to visit the hospital for an emergency at night. The tests were done but had to wait all night long with an IV on in the waiting area chairs for the doctor. But the doctor was nice. The nurses were not as nice maybe they were all tired.

If you have emergency don’t go to brampton civic hospital go somewhere-else my wife was pregnant-and she waited there whole day in emergency and she got miscarriage. Poor staff poor receptionist. 00000 rating.

If there is option for stars in negative i will give that no professionalism my brother have too much pain because of kidney stones and he is in emergency and no one is paying attention and they didn’t gave him a single injection to stop the pain and when i called them they talked too much rudely. It is the worst healthcare system i have ever seen and they are not letting me to go in. Please don’t go there they will leave you dying and say sorry the doctor will come and see you and nobody will come. Worst healthcare in this developed country

I’ve visited for my Gastro issues quite a few times and during my wife’s pregnancy from scanning to delivery. I did not find anything to complaint about. It is all your luck what kind of staff is on duty that time. Doctors and staff is amazing and willing to help. The hospital is busy, So it is expected they get tired by the EOD. Just behave nice and get treated well.

I got my baby delivered here, from the nurse to the Drs. All were good. They explained us everything. They were very supportive. The postpartum was also really good.

Although the hospital is good, it is operating over capacity all the time. I gave only 3 stars because of the ER department which is always crowded and therefore it is hard to provide timely service to patients. Many of the nurses in the ER (I must say specifically in the ER because the doctors and nurses other than in the ER seem to be decent human beings) are poorly trained and We in Brampton really need a full second hospital with a new ER department and 850 beds. There were delegations made before the council at Brampton city hall and a healthcare emergency was declared in Brampton and yet I don't see a second hospital coming...I have personally witnessed Hallway healthcare in Brampton and it is frustrating...

Time to put into perspective the state of Brampton Civic Hospital, and the state of health care in general in Brampton. I have resided in Brampton the past 33 years. It has become increasingly apparent that we actually don't have a hospital in Brampton. A hospital by definition supplies certain services in healthcare. Our building on Bovaird Drive claims to be a hospital, but offers very little in actual care. I speak from experience. I to have taken my children to this facility, only to leave when care could not be offered in a reasonable time frame. A golf ball at 100mph to the head (temple) with extreme swelling deserved more than a 8hr wait as suggested by the triage nurse. A trip to emergency with laboured breathing deserved more than an emergency room doctor being more concerned with sports chatter with colleagues, and questioning along the lines of illicit drug use to explain the incident. Especially when the patient (my son) was with his father and had been diagnosed with pericarditis one day earlier at Sunnybrook. I now don't even attempt to use this so-called hospital. I refuse to even acknowledge its very presence. Hospitals within 40 minutes of Brampton Civic Hospital are also extremely busy; we live in the GTA. Yet they perform at a level of professionalism that is non-existent here in Brampton. Dedication to duty, compassion, excellence of service all elude the majority of staff at Brampton Civic. As I sit waiting in Sunnybrook...observing...listening...I am completely impressed. Watching the relief nurses change shift, asking which patients are in need of special instruction, any other concerns to watch closely. In closing, do yourself a favour. At all costs, leave Brampton to receive health care. I would rather die in transit to a "real" hospital, then die in the halls of our hospital in name only.

Less than 1 star because the doctor was rude, dismissive and when I needed to be hospitalized, he said I don't think it's anything, but 'because you're stressed about it' We'll run 1 test. I left, went to another hospital and they think there is internal bleeding and are screening for cancer. A lawsuit will be filed, and don't go here. All other staff was excellent. I was visibly ill and they said.. don't worry. The Doctor will help you. He asked maybe 3 questions and it was clear he was not treating me with all testing that should have been run with the symptoms shown. He did not take steps of due diligence. He dismissed me and a real hospital is providing the proper care required.

Lobby on main floor is pristine. However, patients rooms are filthy. Staff never throw out empty packages of medication. They leave it on the end table or table tray. Floors are filthy and garbage is overflowing. I visit my father everyday and I always throw out empty medication cups, syringe caps and I also found his oxygen tube on the floor. Most of the nursing staff is polite, respectful and accommodating, but there are those who could use some lessons on beside manners. Especially in the oncology unit when patients are in dire need of special care and sensitivity.

I went for ultrasound today and the female at reception desk was very rude. I am a member of Bramlea community health center and I dont have a health card so My Midwife at Community center had faxed the letter one week before the ultrasound appointment and it clearly stated that my services are covered at Brampton Civic Hospital. However when I went for an appointment the female at reception desk refused saying that She dosent have any kind of letter. She told me that I need to have physically signed paper from community health center. I tried my best explaining her that The letter which you require is already faxed one week earlier but she was just not ready to accept that. She keep on saying repeatedly. I told her to check in her system in her file she rudely said that she dosent want to check and she wil not check and she requires physical paper. I called my midwife and my midwife wanted to talk to her to which again she replied saying that she dosent want to talk to anybody. The female receptionist had smartly put her name tag on the wrong side so that no one can see her name and complain abt her Finally my midwife called the management at hospital and complained abt her and she then checked me in for my ultrasound. However the radiologist who did my ultrasound was very nice and polite

I had my son back in December 2018 and had a really bad experiece. I had an emergency c section and my son was born with water in his lungs so he was in the NICU for his time there. First of all when my son was born they put him as a boy with the gender female. My husband noticed this right away and told the nurse to change it to male... they said okay... once we were discharged they still had him down as a female and told us we had to change it and go to service canada. They made the mistake and after being in the hospital for a week on my second day back home with my toddler and newborn had to go to service canada in pain (still recovering from my c section) because my doctor did mention if we don't change this ASAP there might be problems in the future with his gender. 2nd of all most of the nurses in the maternity ward seem not to know what they are doing and are super lazy. Since my son was in the NICU and i wasn't able to hold him i had walk or be pushed in a wheelchair by my husband every 2 hours to see my son to breast feed him and be with him. I was in alot of pain and emotionally it was really hard. I noticed that on my 2nd day after having my c section they were giving me regular tylenol along with naproxen... for the 1st day they give you extra strength advil... i told the nurse and was in tears telling her i was in too much pain. She told me that's what the doctor told her to give me. I asked if she could contact the doctor and ask them that due to my situation and going back and forth amd being in pain if doctor could change the prescription. She said "no that's what the doctor ordered". After hours of crying in pain and i was having a hard time going to see my son and walking to NICU... i told the nurse that im going to buy extra strength tylonal or advil bc i cant take the pain. She then told me no dont do that and i told her then contact the doctor ... she did and the doctor said it was fine and to give me the higher dosage. So I stayed about 8 hours in more pain bc the lazy nurse didn't want to contact the doctor. Also they forgot to give me the stool softer meds and i had so much gas pain that my shoulder and arm was hurting and i wasnt undrrstanding why. I kept complaining to the nurse. She then noticed and was like oh we forgot to give you the meds for the stool softer. That should have been given to me from the beginning. I couldnt even move my arm at this point bc of the gas pain and once the medication was given to me i was able to pass everything and felt better. The nurses on the maternity ward kept asking me" did we give you this medication yet?" And i was like how am i supposed to know?! I noticed that alot of nurses were just talking around the clerk station and socializing and not doing anything. Also bc i was going to and from the NICU my feet were very swollen. I told my husband to get me some ice... the nurse on duty rolled her eyes at my husband and said you should put heat not ice and to do that when we get home. My feet were swollen at the hospital bc of going back and forth not a week after when i was home. But The nurses in the NICU were great especially an indian nurse i forgot her name ( it was maybe Susan?) she was amazing and so kind. Also the social working staff were great in following up to see if i was depressed and needed help with nursing my baby. Also the anesthesiologist during my c section was great. I didnt get his name but he was a young gentleman with blue eyes. He explained everything that was happening to me and made feel super comfortable. But unfortunately thats not enough for me to ever have any babies at the hospital ever again. I called the hospital and stayed on the phone with them for over 30 mins letting them know what happened. Don't have your babies here is my advice!

Worst experience ever here... my wife had pregnancy problem and need to see doc asap but we were in emergency at 11pm and got treatment after 10hrs what does it mean like a person needs urgent care specially in case of pregnancy but really its a very worst exprnce here

Fun fact: this hospital forced my mom to retire.

I am absolutely disgusted with the way my husband was treated. We waited 3 hours and he had no tests done. The Doctor told him to wear compressions socks for his leg pain and even said "sorry buddy". Is this how patients who are there because they are suffering are treated these days?! I have no idea the doctors name but this hospital has 2 stars for a reason. I'm utterly shocked at this.

Niko Omniscient

Some nice nurses made it okay overall, but the dirty/ not-cleaned areas (as in the picture attached of my loved one's bedrail hinge) were alarming. Please clean up better, especially the commonly overlooked areas.

Nadine Porter

Worst experience in emergency room waiting a long time to see doctor. Seems staff treat a car accident while pregnant not serious enough and waiting while not having any food all day feeling like going to pass out. Asked a nurse for water and was told we only have hot water horrible experience

I went Sat night to BCH and the staff From security handing out masks to nurses and dr. all were helpfull and polite, i was there for approx four hours. I had to give lab samples twice and i understand results take time. A big thank you to Dr Mehta and the nurses. side-note: the only people cleaning the chairs while i was there were the patients.

I was waiting in line for a blood test, after waiting in line for like 5 minutes I collapsed and fell unconscious, My mom and some other people helped me get back up. I hit my head and nose on the ground thus my nose was bleeding. I was feeling really hot then someone called the ambulance and came in 5 minutes. Those two paramedics were some of the nicest people getting me in the truck and to the hospital safely. Then I was put in a wheelchair with one foot holder so some nurse escorted me to some checking room and some Indian nurse didn't even help me get on the bed, I felt really weak, seemed like she didn't care but then I had to wait outside the room for like a few minutes and being escorted to some registration and this lady was rude, I did not like her attitude then I was escorted to another waiting room then I got off the the wheelchair and waited for like 1 hour or something for the doctor to show up in the room they put me in amd he cameamd was really nice, asked me what happened. Then I had wait 30 something minutes for a blood test and blood pressure check, the nurse's who did it was nice. Now, I had to wait 2 hours for my blood test results to see why I fainted. During waiting some nurse gave me some food which was very nice of her. The doctor told me it was a vagovasal syncope attack or something like that. So the doctor told me he would fax the information although he didn't mention who. Then I was discharged. Overall, the experience wasn't bad but really long waiting times. I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE OUTSIDE AGAIN DURING COVID-19, VERY UNSAFE. I'M STAYING HOME TO AVOID THIS TYPE OF ISSUE HAPPENING TO ME.

I recent had my second Child at this hospital. The service was unexpected for Brampton hospital. Everything went by extremely smooth. Nurses in Postpartum were not in the best mood, but i guess night shift does that to you. Triage 5/5 -Took my wife in right away Anesthesia epidural 5/5 -Doctor gave it right away Delivery 5/5 - Nurse was really nice and supportive. - Doctor was very alert PostPartum 2.5/5 - Nurses.....

A Third World Country hospital. There nothing called emergency in this hospital. Even if you are bleeding or dying they don't care to attend you for 4-5 hours( if there is no rush.. else). Getting a bed here is more rare than winning a lottery. serious patients spends days/weeks in hallways on stretchers and some never make it to bed. If you want a relaxed work atmosphere and good salary without actually doing anything they are the best Employers. The staff and its behaviors reflects that.

I thought Canada has the best healthcare system and people are polite here. But I was wrong and especially everything gets contradict when you go to emergency services, especially for this hospital. I visited this hospital recently due to kidney stone pain (all those who had this health issue knows very well how painful and unbearable this stone pain is). I reached around 12 at the hospital , they ask you to change the mask and go to the nurse , i went their and told nurse (white) that few days before i was diagnosed with kidney stone and right now i am having a episode , please help and she noted my details and asked to me to sit for waiting room. 20 minutes passed with a severe pain that i already was bearing even after having oxy that was prescribed earlier but the pain was still on. I again went to the reception and said please this a triage 1 and 2 , i am in alot pain , my body is shivering please provide me help i cant hold pain no longer (remember i am in pain , but still i was calm and polite with crying face) and the nurse said. ' there are other sick people , get out of here '' (there was no line behind me) and she shut of the speaker , turned her chair and ignored me. i waited for 2 hours to get into triage . i literaaly cried with 8mm stone in my body , and they didnt do it anything at all. After 2 hours they called , took my bp , temp and aksed covid questions, when i begged and cried that i am in lot of pain then she gave me a injection. Thankfully that same stupid nurse which turned down was not handling me who was responsible to decide which triage the person has to go. The lady nurse was racially profiling and giving EMS , i understand everyone is sick , but people who are in episode at that moment should be kept in priority , people with same pain who came late was given ems first then me who was crying to get pain relief. what to do of state of the art infrastructure if a sick person has to beg and suffer for 2 hours to get relief. The dilemma is such nurses are kept and trained to decide who needs wat.

I gave birth to my baby here on the 7th of December. I was very nervous about this hospital because of all the negative reviews I read. Absolutely every single member of staff was absolutely lovely and took very good care of me. My nurse Alyssa was wonderful. My birth experience was very positive. I would absolutely recommend this hospital and for all the moms to be, please relax. My husband and I were put into a ward room where a bathroom was shared with two other ladies. It was still quiet enough for my newborn and myself. The hospital food was OK, not great just OK. Your partner can always get you food from outside. All in all, a great experience.

This has always been a trash hospital but now I'm done...I'll drive to any hospital but this one even if it's an emergency....I was bleeding from my thumb, a very deep wound...waited for 2hrs n 10mins just for triage and then another 25mins after that for registration while watching nurses on their phones and drinking timmies....if they were on break they could/should have left their station instead sitting at their desks ignoring people who were sick or bleeding like me! I was forgotten in a room in ATC for over an hour when all I needed was bandages and then I could have left. I had to remind them I was waiting. Then today I go to plastic surgery/fracture clinic to find out I have a broken thumb that was never xrayed last week....absolutely my last time going to Brampton civic! Yes these are Frontline workers but this unacceptable.

Gagandeep Kaur

Last Night on 4 june I visit here in emergency .The worst place i ever visit for medical treatment .Staff is ruthless they don't care about the patient problem . The waiting time is never ending moreover after waiting so long dr. didn't see me .i have facture but still dr. see me , even nobody told me what exactly happened to my foot how serious it is . Just give me baldy air cast and crutches and told me go home. Also when i ask for my x ray report they didn't gave to me .if you need emergency service ,this is not the place to go .although they had huge staff all are worthless if you can't gave the right treatment to the patients.

Coyote Cat

Worst emergency ever.. uncaring environment. Went in with so much pain all the nurses ignored me.. turns out I have pericardial effusion and my chest is hurting so much they still sent me home.. I feel I have to go back but I'm scared this hospital :(

Tahmid Chowdhury

Horrible hospital. If you are sick or injured in Brampton, make the extra effort and travel to a hospital in Toronto. It can really save your life depending on the situation you are in. Only hospital I know that charges patients and visitors to use the WiFi. The nurses rude, doctors misdiagnose illnesses and do wrong treatment. I've seen hospitals in third world countries provide better services to their patients than this hospital.

julian htet

Worst experience ever. We usually go Etobicoke hospital for x-ray, they are rude like all the staff that. My mom go into the room and she said to her “close the door do you want everyone to see you” after x-ray she throws the paper towel to her and asked her to clean herself. Those things have to be done by them, never even going back there again.

Jords Siciliano

I went to this hospital almost six years ago. It was fine. Everyone was nice. I went in through the ER because I had no family doctor at the time but it was not a true emergency. However, I only waited for 30 minutes and was seen right away. I needed surgery but it happened the next morning which was fine. Most of the people complaining sound like they are upset for long wait times. It's the ER. During a global pandemic. In a country with socialized medicine. In an overpopulated city. Give these people a break. They save lives.

Vishal Rathi

The emergency services can be a pain unless it is really an emergency, Parking is costlier for a hospital. The place is clean inside and the staff is helpful, despite COVID pressure, things are well managed.

Hello Staff at William Osler Brampton Civic Hospital...my mother arrived in ER via ambulance early this morning @330am....i called to find out an update on her status this morning...i was transferred to the Emergency dept..the phone rang out for a very long time then hung up on me!!!??? I don't understand....we were told my mother suffered a mild heart attack...we are not aware of her current status..how do we find out ? and can a family member be with her during this difficult time??? how do we speak to someone ?? as calling is not working !? If she was the wife of the prime minister, would you treat them the same way you are treating us right now?

Clover Phoenix

To the nurse working in MRI last night. Thank you so so so much for asking my mother to come in 45 minutes early for her appointment that didn't change just so you could sign her her in and leave early. No one wants to stay longer than they should. It's bad enough that my mother had no say in her appointment time or date and changed her work schedule around for a 10:45pm appointment!! But she was asked to come in early on top of the please arrive 45 minutes before your appointment. So happy you got to go home at 9:30 while my mom stayed till past 12 with me in the parking lot waiting for her. To civic hospital. Get it together. The issue is obviously with your staff. Long before this pandemic has this hospital been given a bad rep. Lessen the work loads, have better training, and do more for your staff of it means they can actually have more compassion to the people that have no choice but to be in their care. There is a reason people travel 20, 30, and 40 minutes to other hospitals.

Worst place ever seen. Doctors are not completely educated or highly experienced. Staff doesn't have manners. This was my first visit and last. They literally kill u. I took my son last night hve is 5 months old he having chest congestion for more then a month. We have been to credit Valley twice and one time walkin clinic unfortunately haven't diagnosis why his chest getting worst. When we enter in hospital system was down then next waiting for registration, staff ladies were having chat regarding there holidays to kept wait painful patients. I didn't even see single patient who was happy their services. Doctors on cell phone having chat and texting. I found surprised almost every staff person having phone and following their social networks. My request to board team of hospitals please let them phone shut down. They are lacking their responsibilities on duty hours. We are all working but when we visit to hospitals we have feeling unsafe. City members please my humbly request fix these places with right places. I'm looking a disaster future of these places. If I'm lying please take a feed back of whole GTA. We don't mind for waiting if staff doing a great job. I have seen a big change since I migrate to Canada. It's a beautiful country let's keep it amazing country.

Big and fancy hospital with careless staff! One of the worst hospitals I have ever seen in my life. They make you wait for hours even in serious emergency situations. It seems as if there's only 1 doctor taking care of the entire hospital. I have seen small kids with fractured leg crying for help for 4-5 hours, its so painful to watch. There were people with chest pain that waited 6 hours to see the doctor. I wonder why they use the word emergency when everything is so slow. The staff only care about their time shift, they are least bothered about the patients and they hardly listen to patient's problems. Very disappointed!

Lakhvinder Gill

The doctors and social workers at this hospitals are a joke with no common sense or to make decisions where logic will prevail. I was expecting a call from the doctor for a "family meeting" no calls. I followed up and was advised the doctor was late. I called up later and was advised the meeting is done and the doctor chose not to call and expected someone else to call me back. Also on top of it the social worker had a meeting and again didn't call me. In an environment where they want to do risk assessment to reduce risk these people are aggravating risk by not keeping the right people informed. They dont have a complaint process except the feedback email. If you want correct and better information for your loved ones I would recommend any other hospital than William osler

Dalton Grant

My brother has been waiting over 48 hours for surgery and no one is telling him or the family anything. This is the absolute worst hospital, nothing but nurses standing around talking to each other. Totally unprofessional not the way my tax dollars should be spent, wish I could take him else where and get better service!

I found my self in emergency June 2020. I know that Corvid 19 has upset the normal process of how things are done. However, I would expect that empathy and care would be consistent. I was dizzy and barely able to walk, and the nurse call me and said come in this room, I started a long walk to the room, only to see her eyes rolling over and her body language change, then I had a nurse jab a swab in my nose unexpectedly and then commented, "everybody know this is uncomfortable. As I waited in a room, unable to move at midnight, I ask the nurse if she can please dim the lights, she said, we cannot do that, we would have to take that entire unit light off, they are rude and uncaring. Fortunately the doctor came by and said, your should get some sleep while we wait, and took the light off. I think that when you are sick, and in emergency you can expect to be given some care, why should we have to tolerate such poor behavior from nurses at this hospital. Is patient care not important, is bedside manners a thing of the past. No one wants to be in emergence care. This is truly a case of a bunch of bad apples, and they need to be removed from service for treating patients poorly.

THE WORST HOSPITAL EVER..... I was told by my family physician to go to the ER due to terrible chest pain. Not only were the Admin nurses rude... they ALSO lost my Health Card and tried to blame it on “so many patients coming through the hospital”. I received not ONE apology. The nurses run around with their head cut off like chickens. I waited 9 hours to be finally be seen by a doctor and have him not even treat what I came there for.... hospitals are turning into more of a business rather than actually helping us.

The Get Away

if I could give 0 I would the staff was beyond rude and considered everything as "not that serious" so I was put off (keep in mind it's a knife wound) send off with out being properly checked this is the worst hospital ever . they have no buisness being employed im going to another hospital as we speak .

Benjamin “PoutineLover” Disbrowe

A pretty decent hospital but the STAFF... can be very temperamental! The problems of Brampton and the low-income Society overflow the UNDERQUALIFIED UNPROFESSIONAL workers who ARE supposed to be professional help, not dramatic help. I sometimes feel like I'm on General Hospital instead of getting Civic Hospital. Drama drama drama get me a doctor not a nurse who thinks that their dr. Phil. Even a doctor thinks their dr. Phil sometimes. They think they know how to treat broken bones and bullet wounds but brains and pains are different story.

I was at the emergency on Aug.4 2020 arrived at about 11:50 pm. I had had surgery earlier that morning at Toronto Western Hospital. I had gotten home at 2 pm. At 9pm my anaesthesia had worn out and I took the pain medicine I was prescribed . It was not helping the Excruciating pain I had been in . I got to the Brampton emergency. Told them that I had had surgery that morning and the meds and extra that I took was not working. They took my info , about 15 min I was put in a room waiting now for the doctor. At approximately 12:30 am he saw me he said the nurse would be giving me a shot for the PAIN. I asked a # of times the desk staff when ? At 3:00 am the Doctor came to see me again and asked how my pain was ??? I said “ I have not had the Shot yet” He said ok I will get her here. I finally got the shot at 3:30 am. 4:00 am he came to see me again asked how I’m feeling I said this is doing nothing to help. He gave me a prescription told me not to take the other ones. I left the hospital. “I CAN SAY THAT THIS IS THE WORST HOSPITAL THAT I HAVE EVER BEEN TO “ I would not recommended this Hospital to my Worst enemy!!!! !!STAY AWAY!!

On August 6, 2020 I went with my 5-year-old grandson to the William Osler Health System - Brampton Civic Hospital Emergency at 11:00 PM as he had a fever at home around 40-41 ° C. There was only one more patient waiting in the waiting room. During the initial interview, I explained that I had given my baby Tylenol just before leaving the house. I also added that my wife had tried unsuccessfully to visit a doctor at the clinic where, based on a telephone interview, she was advised to go to the emergency room at Brampton Hospital to have the baby examined and tested for Covid-19. After some initial interviews, we finally got to Medical Assessment Unit room 47 at 12.30, waiting for the doctor. I asked several times how long we had to wait, but no one was able to say when the doctor would reach us. The boy was exhausted and around 2:00 AM he fell asleep on my lap. Just before 3:00, my patience ran out, I took the baby and left the hospital expressing my opinion about the whole situation. There is only one emergency doctor on duty in this hospital in Brampton - a population of 735,000. Not only that we wasted almost four hours in the hospital unsuccessfully, but at the end I paid $ 15 for parking like the icing on the cake. I definitely do NOT recommend this hospital. It is better to take a longer ride and go elsewhere.

I wish I read the reviews before I went here because this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. I would rather drive a million miles away if that was the next hospital I could find. I cut myself during work, 10 hours later it’s still messed up so I decide to go to the nearest hospital. Triage and registration were fine - I asked if I needed stitches when I got in and they advised me that it’s best to get it checked as well as get a tetanus shot booster. I waited for about 2.5 hours until I saw a doctor which is fine. I was expecting to wait. When I saw the doctor, he came and checked my finger and said this exactly: “oh you need stitches but we can’t give you stitches because it’s been over 12 hours and there’s a high risk of it being infected. But I will send you to a nurse who will clean it up, take a good look to make sure nothing is infected and then you’ll go to plastics and they’ll fix it up for you.” Ok sure, no problem. The next hour was spent watching them walk around and pick and choose what they wanted to do. They picked up my chart 4,5 times asking if anyone wanted to do my tetanus shot. Nobody wanted to do it so I just watched them toss my chart around from 345am-430am. Finally they were left with no choice but to actually do it. They gave me my shot and told me I was free to go..not even looking at my finger again or cleaning it like the dr. Said they would. How are you gonna tell me it’s bad enough to get stitches but not even do anything about it. I could go on and on forever but please don’t ever go here ‘cause they don’t care actually about anybody

Probably one of the best hospitals I've visited. I was diagnosed with MRSA and was stuck in the pediatric unit for 1 week. From what i've experienced, Most nurses are nice to you if your young. Nurses here also try their best to do things around me. They tried getting a vein inside of me and ended up stabbing me with the I.V 5 times. I honestly don't blame them, They ended up seeing the vein anyway. Some nurses will even offer to clean your bed or, Offer to give snacks to you. Overall, If you think that your child might be admitted into this hospital, This is the right hospital for your child to go to.

This hospitals labour and delivery section is terrible. I'm 2014 when I gave birth to my daughter I had no problems but today I went into the labour and delivery as they advised me to on the phone because I am having severe back pain. I get to location and nurse automatically assumes that I have a uti without assessing me, then when I'm laying and waiting for doctor to assess I get restless and continue to move because I'm in pain and can't lay still on my back the nurse comes in tears off monitors and says that I am messing with her readings. Lastly the doctor came in and before speaking with me she comments that I came in to have a relaxing time .... why would I leave the comfort of my house to go to a hospital to relax. So I said I'm no longer in pain and left the hospital. Their staff needs to be trained to speak to people, I will be having my second child and creditvalley hospital in Mississauga

If possible do not take treatment here as it can either get delayed or get worse. My MRI report was on YELLOW status and the doctor said I may need a surgery (which will be confirmed by a surgeon). After that he kept me on IV and sent me home and that's it the surgeon never called and the IV doses were completed after 7 days. For a bone infection, minimum 6 weeks of IV is needed and these guys haven't even gave me a follow up appointment. And if you visit again some other shows up who tells different treatment. If I had proper guidance and some time I was ready to sue at least few of them for their incapability. I had a minor swell and pain in the back, and one bad doctor asked me to lie down and without even asking or taking my consent he poked it and said "no pus in there you are good". That became a wound and even now after 2months I am going to wound Care clinic - for packing & dressing

in emergency you make patient to wait for lore than 3 hours. what kind of health system is them. worst mismanaged hospital ever seen in my life

Nicholas

I have had the pleasure of visiting this hospital on numerous occasions. From x-rays, two MRIs to the time my toddler was born and almost died. I have always experienced the staff to be quick, knowledgable and polite. Yes they are short and to the point. They have a job to do and they’re not here to be friends. I appreciate that. The faster we can get to the point of why I am here, the better! I have been to this hospital in the middle of the day and this visit was in the middle of the night. Today was an MRI for my neck. I walked into the hospital, to a complete ghost town. There were three people in the emergency waiting room. The longest part of my visit today was walking to the MRI area. The moment I walked in, the young man gave me a form to fill out. Once that was filled out. I was on the table getting scanned and then out the door within 30 minutes of arriving. MRI scan takes 20 mins. Thank you very much William Osler for always doing your best!

The worst hospital I have ever seen with the worst staff. The staff in emergency is uncaring and slow with no sense of urgency. They chat amongst themselves, laugh, and take their own sweet time. My baby was throwing up right infront of them multiple times and they didn't care. Wouldn't tell me when I would be called.Waited 6 hours to be seen. I am so annoyed with this hospital and staff. I had no choice but to come here but no more. Will advise EVERYONE against visiting this hospital. This was just one instance. My delivery was also carried out in this hospital and the day nurse who was supposed to take care of me did not. Did not even bring me a glass of water or painkillers postpartum. The lady who brought food saw me upset and brought me water. And I couldn't have my husband with me bc of the covid protocol. If they do not allow partners, they need to have good nurses. But they do not. I will go to another hospital next time..I will also love to file a complaint against this hospital to the governing bodies. BRAMPTON CIVIC SUCKS.

Carol Taylor

Brampton Civic Hospital is truly the worst hospital. Someone close to me went there today after they had a car accident and almost 7 months pregnant and she receive the worst treatment ever. If you are a black person be careful. DON'T GO THERE IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE. LET IT NOT BE IN YOUR TOP 5 HOSPITAL TO GO TO

My Wife delivered a beautiful healthy baby here. The on call Ob,doctor and nurses were very knowledgeable, patient and caring. We had to stay at the hospital for 48 hrs after delivery during which the nurses in the postpartum block were very caring and helpful. Even the hospital food served to my wife was great (veg). They even have a photo studio in the post partum section which is so convenient and a great touch to the already great service.

Took my mother in law for and MRI appointment. Got reprimanded by the receptionist for being a few minutes late and told that they could send us away. My MIL was not informed what time she should be there, just the appointment time and due to covid assumed we had to be there right at the time given to her. It took time for covid screening, mask changing and "passed label" being made at the entrance and then registering. Then there was an appointment check in at the kiosk and the long walk to MRI with an elderly person. At the kiosk it said we were checked in at 4:35 for our 4:30 appointment. After she told us that we should have been there earlier than the appointment time, she proceeded to tell the person right after us (arriving for a 5:20 appointment) that the technicians are behind schedule and that the patient should take a medicine she needs to take 30 minutes before her procedure @ 5:30. My mother in law's appointment was at 4:30pm, she was called in more than 2 hours after her appointment time and we left the hospital just after 7:30. Since they knew they were so late, they should have called their appointments and told them to come an hour later. Instead they feel we should have been there at 4pm and waited 3.5 hours instead of just 3 hours. SMH.

Harjot

Waited 20 min in the emergency to get checked in. No one was at the desk, anther person standing in line went to the volunteers to ask how much longer they would have to wait as they were having severe chest pains, the volunteer simply said "oh your having chest pains just wait nurse will be there shortly. " after waiting another 10 min ended up leaving, drove to mississauga. Point being if you're in a critical condition you'd probably end up dying before getting checked in avoid this place at all costs.

My wife started to experience some pain in her chest and back, we finally went to William Oslar hospital ER, we had an awful experience from all the touch points she went to. She was in severe pain and was finally getting some diagnosis stuff for her her, as she was progressing and getting, she was asking for help crying for almost the 5 hours, she asked for some.water 3 times still never got it? Was in a wheelchair and the technician ignored her because she couldn't get out of the chair, to get to xray and took the person behind her. She also needed help to get on the bed for her ekg with no help and in in pain? No one acknowledged any support or empathy for her severe pain. We were there 10 years ago and there was an article in the Guardian the the New CEO was going to prove the patients experience, he failed it got worst than the last time. This is not covid-19 related its about treating patients with empathy under there care, for my wife to say it was the worst 8 hours of her life ! Pretty sad for someone who never Complains! for it not to imptove over the last 10 years it is a culture, I see so many heroic first responders over the last 2 years, and many hospitals that seem to inspire patients, but not the civic or maybe just the emergency department , as I am sure everyone need to be be treated if it was there family members I am sure they would be disappointed in such a hospital that we all we so proud of when it opened, and I see some good ratings from Patients, but an overall score of 2? Now I know why.

Amid a global pandemic and certainly with the surge of Covid cases in Peel Region, the thought of a loved one being admitted to any hospital in any region of Ontario is extremely worrying. Add to this, a 92 year old patient in late stage dementia and you have the makings of what could have been a nightmare situation, and instead, it was a true beacon of hope for my sister's and I. Brampton Civic Hospital was not only outstanding in their care for our mother, they were selfless, compassionate and kind and I desperately struggle for the words to thank them. From the ambulance attendants who brought our Mom to hospital, to the many nurses and doctors from the emergency room and to the caring staff who work on the 4th floor. Dr. Mistry, Dr.Smith, Dr.Abuja, all nurses and orderlies, and the caring people who answered the phones, who were always kind when my sister's and I were calling about our Mom, (Mary) and to the amazing LIHND team, Karmpreet, you will always, always, have a special place in our hearts now and forever. Dr.Mistry, you are a hero, no question there. We will always remember you for your kindness and empathy, always. Our mother is now in a long term care home, and it was no small feat ensuring this placement, especially during a time that was and continues to be heart wrenching for so many. When I look back on this time, all those at Brampton Civic Hospital, please know, understandably, there are inadequacies in the system, however, you are all HEROES, and we gratefully acknowledge your skill, dedication and sacrifice. Sending you all, our gratitude and thanks..

My wife and I had a really pleasant experience with having our first baby at Brampton Civic Hospital. Everyone involved in the delivery process (Dr. Vidia Persad, Nurses Mary-Grace and Prad) did whatever they could to make my wife as comfortable as possible. Right after delivery, a team of pediatricians came over to gently perform the necessary tests and gave her a Vitamin-K shot. They explained everything to make sure we understood what they were doing to the mom and baby. After the delivery, we were shifted to post-partum ward where all nurses were again super nice and helpful. They were all available literally at a push of a button. Special thanks to Nurse Shumaila in the post-partum ward who helped so much and felt like having a family member in the ward. Not only did she help with the medical side of things but she also helped us morally as having our first baby was quite a big change and a challenge for us with an ongoing pandemic. Thank you William Osler Health System (Brampton Civic Hospital) for making our experience so pleasant and memorable. We owe you one ????

I have high blood pressure and went to the urgent clinic and sent to emergency. I had 192/104 reading. The urgent care doctor told me it's dangerous and have to go the hospital. I spent the whole day at the hospital and was given the prescription and kicked out. What I don't understand is that the high blood pressure is nothing? Then why the hell the urgent care doctor asked me to go to emergency? It's a total waste.

Absolute joke, my girlfriend had a sharp pain in her back and stomach, fainting, vertigo and vomiting, when we arrived they tried to dismiss her saying she was drunk or on drugs even though she dosent do either, the people working were very rude, she witnessed a nurse yell at a mother because her toddler stepped over the covid distance spaces. She had to deliver her own triage form, and was told to take medicine without being told what it is, among other things, if you can make it take your medical needs elsewhere

Connie P.

Nurses could see you passed out on the floor and they'll simply step over you like you're not there.

CalxC

Absolute horrible hospital! I am disgusted at the service and staff. From the moment you walk, you are treated so rudely. Their commitment to customer service, respect, and whatever else b.s they say is a joke - there is none at this hospital. They don't let you speak, they treat patients horribly, you never get to see a doctor and if you do it is extremely quick and they won't let you speak. The nurses are inhuman like, they either forgot what they learned or the learning for becoming a nurse needs serious improvements. No one knows anything, no one can help you, you're pretty much left to figure it out on your own. I feel angered and sad for those who rely on others for help and there is none here. I could go on and I truly hope, someone goes in there and changes things up. Patrick Brown, time to make some serious changes. These are people's lives, not a joke. What I think the staff fails to realize is, what if it's them tomorrow or their family members. No one is invincible. Treat others how you would want to be treated or how you want people to treat your loved ones.

Sebastian M

One of the worst hospitals I've ever visited emergency department seems like understaffed .I was only able to see one doctor for the 7 hours I spent there. Its extremely slow with each processs taking more than 2 hours. Some of the staff are rude and will.ignore you if you ask any questions.I would suggest people to avoid this institute if you have other options.

Harkaran Singh

The emergency department staff shows No concern towards your condition or pain. Earlier this morning 911 emergency team dropped me there as I was suffering from severe pain due to kidney stone. I was given high shot of painkiller and morphine by emergency team before they dropped me at hospital. But hospital staff treated me with no care. I was so bad in pain that they repeated the shots of painkiller again within 3 hours. But still they wanted me to go back home and follow family doctor for ultrasound which will take 2 3 days. Instead of doing by themselves today only. I told them the pain can come back again as it did after the 1st shots of morphine. They said we are prescribing you strong pain killer for that. But they didn't mentioned the date on prescription. The name of the doctor and department phone number was also handwriting in so bad handwriting that pharmacy was not able to understand. They tried reaching out to the hospital for details like doctor name. But no one responded them or me back for several hours which left me in pain for hours without pain killer.

Mortoza Shoeb

Doctors are good, nurses are average. Service behavior is below average to average. Follow up and end to end service, it is extremely bad. I cannot trust them anymore. I have 3 experiences, where they failed to follow up and provide me the right service. I had to do things that hospital should have done for me. Major mistakes. I am extremely frustrated and never want to go back and do not recommend this hospital, until I see the issues are taken care of.

Talat K Salam

Worse hospital ever. After so many bad experiences, I really didn't want to bring my any family member to this hospital. Unfortunately my dad ends up in Brampton civic hospital. He was brought on Dec 19th and he is still admitted, nurses are all trainee can not even changed him, when he is wet. Poked him all over on his body because they didn't know how to take blood or how to put IV needle. Doctors are trying to convince me to send my dad to palliative care, I would like to know if someone is not eating at all what usually hospital does? I can write whole story. I am very upset. Allah please take care of my dad.

Over all the staff is okay, not great just okay. The hospital itself, while a fairly new establishment it's very run down and the cleanliness is highly questionable. The hospital is also full of cops with what appears to be detainees at all hours of day and night. I've also noticed an unusual amount of people with clear signs of mental illness and/or with substance abuse issues roaming the first floor lobby and surrounding areas. The rooms are very old looking and crowded, and the floors are very dirty, and haven't been cleaned in ages. Some of the staff look and act like they're burned out and really could care less about the patients, about instructions given by Doctors or patients needs. Also beware, that they are so overwhelmed that they are getting patients mixed up and doing unnecessary test on people, such as daily diabetes tests on patients that don't have any signs or have ever suffered from this illness. Not a place I'd like to be in. Nicest place in the entire building is the gift shop. The staff is outstanding and the items for sale are unusual and very reasonably priced. Kiddos to you, can't say the same for the medically trained staff

Moiz Biviji

The rudeness and patronizing attitude is appalling at this place. Brampton Civic is amongst the worst in almost every customer service metric. The nurses and staff manning the phone lines need a reeducation in basics like civility and politeness.

harleen kaur

Had the worst experience. I delivered mh first baby n didn't know it would be such a horrible experience. I was made to wait for 6 hours in the labor area. With no rooms available!!!! Seriously??!! The nurse in the assessment area even said how can you even ask us how much i have to wait...cant you see we have scheduled deliveries to be done. Then n there i was sure these guys are going to mess up with me. Unfortunately i ended up having c section. My baby got infected because they made me wait for that long inspite of my waters break. Postpartum was even worse. No lactation nurse showed up despite calling 5 times. The nurses show up on their own convenience. Staff n nurses are not at all helpful. Minus rating for them!!

The WORST Hospital Emergency Room experience ever. Last month (October 6th 2020) I started urinating blood and rushed to Civic ER (around midnight) as the hospital is 7 mins away from home. The Doctor even knowing I was developing blood clots and unable to urinate sent home just giving me a painkiller injection. I begged them saying my difficulty to urinate and it is just blood. However the Doctor (I am not mentioning his name) refused to admit me to the Hospital but kept saying a Urologist will contact you. Well I came home around 7:00 AM and the Urologist called and said they can schedule an appointment in two weeks. I rushed to Credit Valley Hospital soon after this call and they immediately took me in, Two Urologists attended within 2 hours, they did an UltraSound followed by a CT scan and found a Tumour in my bladder. They performed a Surgery the same night. I see a Night and Day difference between these two Hospitals. It's a shame I live in Brampton and my tax money goes to a Hospital that is worthless. Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown should take proper action on Civic Hospital Board of Directors to pay more attention on getting proper attention to patients.

Margo Harding

Appointment was for 5.30pm was sitting in the waiting area by 5.45pm left at 6.00pm. I was joking that I had not received the vaccine, never felt a thing, the staff were all professional and kind. A pleasant experience all round, second appointment is booked at the same time as your first.

My father in law spent 3 weeks here after having a heart attack & stroke. I can appreciate that it is a busy hospital, but the entire time there was a lack of communication and besides a few nurses who truly show they care for their patients; we found many gave attitude or acted like they did not want to be there. Even after we had him transferred to a hospital closer to home (he had been there over a week) I received a call telling me they were getting ready to transfer him that week......Scary that you don't realize a patient is missing/no longer at your hospital

I went to the ER with my daughter who was having searing abdominal pain on afternoon of Wed Jan 12 and had to return Thurs Wed 13 because the pain returned. The 2 experiences were very different, so beware if u have to go. Bc of Covid, patients can't have family. my daughter suffers from anxiety and panic attacks On Wed, the ER doctor and the nurses were very compassionate and professional, willing to explain and listen. I was allowed in with her and we managed. Amazing experience.. On Thurs morning we had to go back bc pain returned. we arrived at 6am. she was scared, in pain and could barely talk. nurse refused absolutely to let me in, even though I explained she has anxiety disorder. fine. my daughter went in and I was on the phone with her. At this point she was terrified, having a panic attack and tried to get up and leave but she couldn't walk. ATC nurse came, looking bored, not saying anything, just watching her panicking. no support whatsoever. i helped calm my daughter and told her nurses would be there for her. i was so wtong! she went back to ATC and I stayed on the phone with her for the next 3 hours. she was left alone in a room, had 2 panic attacks, keep calling for help, but no one went to help, except for another patient. I talked to nurse at the front desk to call ATC to get a nurse to check in with her. my phone was on speaker and everyone could hear my daughter, crying and screaming in pain. that nurse showed no concern or care, but she called ATC. I waited to hear a nurse go in, but no one showed up for at least 20 minutes, while we could hear her screaming in pain. She got help only after she left the room, crying in pain, bc she wanted to leave. I was disgusted by the team on Thurs morning and have a question : where are the supports for mental health care in this hospital. Yes, we have Covid restrictions ..but people with a disability like an anxiety disorder deserve better help than this!! anyone deserves better than this..being left to scream in pain for hours with NO ONE checking in even though they hear the screams of pain. Im sorry to leave a review like this, but be prepared.

This is the worst hospital I have ever come across. I have had many loved ones go there, but, not make it out. They are beyond rude. These people have no compassion even when your loved one is on his death bed. They bark at you for asking questions. There was a case even recently about a pregnant woman who went there to get checked out. Her baby died in her womb while she was waiting in the waiting room 6 to 8 hours. When they finally checked her out, they said to go home with the dead baby in her womb and come back next day. Disgusting staff and doctors.

Dan M

This hospital is a joke. We asked for a private room and were told there were no private rooms. They put us in a semi-private room instead because they told is there were no other rooms available at all. 3 weeks later we get a bill for $560. If I didn't ask for a private room it would have cost us nothing. This is our third time there for this occasion, first time getting screwed over. Thanks a lot William Osler, way to screw over people in need.

Sumeet Goutam

I have had to go to this hospital a few times for my wife and the staff and medical "professionals" are an absolute joke, no compassion, no knowledge and so rude. On our last visit my wife was in so much pain, left on a wheelchair, forced to wheel herself in because I wasn't allowed in. The cleaning lady is the one who helped her, the cleaning lady, thank you whatever your name is. One staff even had the gall to say: looks like another bed is gone. A relative had to be hospitalized because his liver was inflamed, because of this, any movement caused the liver to push onto his lungs, resulting in him NOT BEING ABLE TO BREATH. It took four days for an MRI, and almost immediately after that he was sent home and told the doctor and liver specialist will call you with the results. So they are simply throwing people out now as soon as they can, probably to make room for the people that are having backyard parties and getting Covid-19. This unfortunately is just another reason why the medical system in Canada is such a disappointment. I hate this hospital and the entire medical system so much, it makes me so sad to be a Canadian.

Aside from a couple of nurses, the staff, doctors and nurses are terrible! I go to Brampton Civic Hospital three times a week for dialysis and it is unbelievable how bad this place is! When I started dialysis in January 2016, things were okay for a few months then it started to go downhill. To start off with, I had a nurse incorrectly put me on the dialysis machine causing my arm to balloon and swell up and bruise causing me to miss my treatments for a week. When I complained about it I found out that the nurse was new and for some reason she was putting me on the machine unsupervised!!! From then the problems just continued. While on dialysis I have had issues with my blood pressure dropping quite a bit causing me to have to stay behind after my treatment until my blood pressure came back up to normal. This is something which is not under my control, yet I had nurses complain to me time after time that I need to hurry up and leave because I was holding them back from going on their breaks and such, rather than have them caring what condition I was in and how I was feeling. I complained several times to the manager of the dialysis unit but would still have to deal with these issues, I was then moved to another unit within the hospital because they said it was for my benefit as they would be able to accommodate me better and take better care of me, but that was a load of bull. Once they moved me I was still rushed out several times after my treatment even though I was not feeling well. Once it was so bad that I started to get migraines because of the treatments, and was being forced to go home immediately after my treatment, and I was visibly in pain and I. Tears due to the pain and was still being tossed out. These migraines have continued for ether past several months and when I told the doctors about it they told me they can't do anything about it cause they are there to treat my kidneys, not my head, even though the migraines were directly related to the dialysis treatments. I then saw my family doctor outside of the hospital who attempted to treat my headaches, got an MRI done sent me to a neurologist who reviewed my case and read up on my symptoms and causes and found clearly that this problems exists sometimes with dialysis patients and can be fixed by adjusting the treatment which my nephrologist have avoided and denied me of. I am still getting these headaches during my treatments and have gotten into arguments and disputes with the doctors, nurses, and staff, but to no avail. I have even tried to change hospitals but the support staff and social services worker have not helped in getting that done either. I have complained to management, the hospital ombudsman and patient care team but nothing has been done to help my situation! I have also had personal experiences with other family members who have experienced poor or bad treatment/services from other departments at this hospital. If unfortunately you or a family member have to visit the hospital for any reason, please, please, please do yourself a favour and do not visit this hospital, you will be doing yourself and your family and great service by going somewhere else!!!!!

Very poor service. First of all they told wrong place for the waiting. After waiting hours and hours when patient ask why none is calling to check, after that they told where to wait. After waiting 7 hours when patients said she can't sit and wait then they said if you will go doctor wont inform you anything and you are opposing the rules. I wish i could give zero star.

I went to Brampton Civic on December 14, I was 5 months pregnant and my water broke at home. I was devastated, I had to call an ambulance and not only was I having a miscarriage I was going to the hospital I didn't want to go to because of the awful reviews. However inspite of everything i was experiencing emotionally and physically i cant help but to acknowledge the wonderful staff at Brampton Civic. From the ambulance ride to emergency to be admitted, the staff were amazing. I felt like my pain was theirs, my every need was attended to. I wish I could remember the names of all the people I came into contact with but if you worked in the post partum ward between December 14- December 16 I want to Express my sincere thanks to you for making an extremely painful situation not any more painful. To my nurses you were all wonderful and I hope to see you next year in a more favorable situation where we are celebrating and not moaning. I sorry I can't remember all the names because you all truly deserve individual recognition. Thanks to everyone, from the people who cleaned my room, the porters and even though the food was awful thanks to the people who ensure I had food. Again to my nursing and doctors a big thank you. Davia

nice staff... cool place.. still on an antipsychotic for a diagnosis that doesnt make sense and they told me it didnt cause the harsh side effects i was experiencing but it actually does upon the very first google search, told me in 5 months i could get the diagnosis cleared and get diagnosed substance abuse disorder instead but i actively wanted to quit and had no cravings; just regret, before i even got transferred into the place but it was just a drug induced psychosis (happens with benzos)that ended the same time the withdrawal timeline did. regardless i did vibe with these cool staff members shoutout whoever was on picu give them a raise

Go to the ER at your own risk. My daughter had a fracture back in December and was reading her reports after signing up for online access. We’ve never had a fracture in the family so was completely clueless on whats supposed to happen and realized how bad it really was after reading the report from the fracture clinic. The doctor himself was shocked at how we were sent home from ER without a temporary splint/cast after the xray clearly showed the break and was given an appointment 4 days after the fracture. And this is after I begged the reception to take us in earlier since she was giving me an initial appointment of two weeks after. He mentioned how there was little circulation and my daughter’s fingertips were turning white when we finally came in. It sounds like we barely missed permanent damage because of the ER’s negligence. They made my 4 yr old daughter unnecessarily suffer 4 days with a broken arm. I blame myself for trusting that all doctors and nurses know what they are doing.

Devika Chatoor Archer

This place is a joke. You wait so many hours just to be seen by the doctor for a few seconds and they don’t even seem to listen to you! If I’m dying or bleeding out, just let me die because it would save me the hassle of having to wait hours upon hours to even be seen by a doctor. It’s unbelievable and they need to have better training! All love to the professionals who do seem to care about people and want the best for them. We thank you.

ASTHMA PATIENTS AVOID BRAMPTON CIVIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been to this hospital on more than one occasion but today was the first time I have completely lost faith in any sense of care and urgency in how a health care facility should treat a patient. In my 2 hour wait I was not triaged while there were 3 nurses in the department behind me lounging around. I told the registration clerk I was wheezing and had asthma and on top of that had tested positive for covid 19 the same day and I needed to be on a nebulizer. ZERO EMPATHY OR ATTENTION TO CARE. THIS IS WHY YOU HAVE SO MANY FEW HOSPITALS IN BRAMPTON CAUSE THIS ONE CENTRE IS THE MAJOR DETERENT TO GOVERNMENT FUNDING FOR MORE. If I could give you a negative 5 I would as 1 star is 1 too many.

Dylan M

Came here as I felt something stuck in my sinuses and throat post workout, felt like I was choking on something as if something dislodged in my nasal cavity, and because I was having a panic attack due to it they placed me in the mental health unit as my oxygen levels was seen as normal. When talking to the Triage I asked if I could see an ENT or get my sinuses inspected they said yes. After waiting over 10 hours I was let go and was given a referral to a psychiatrist. I'm extremely frustrated, and urgently trying to see an ENT asap.

Sidra Ali

Excellent hospital and very helpful amd amazing staff, instead of having so much load on nurses and docters I really Appreciate their services and help. There so much rush in Emergency and too many patience, i said we should as a patient also have patience and understand them. My docter was Dr Karbi and my Nurse was Phillips. I must mention that Dr is so amazing and Registered Male Nurse name Philipps was doing very hard job and provides so much care to patience. My reviews for him is Full 5 star. God bless them all.????

C. Bahij

My story is too long and too complicated I can’t say all of it cause I simply feel dizzy every time i think about it, I just wanna ask all my brothers and sisters in humanity please take care of yourself and don’t come here. 4 mm kidney stone caused my wife to suffer in this hospital for 12 days till now “who knows maybe we stay here even more”, severe pain, 3 days bleeding, 3 procedures... the reasons are: lack of staff, lack of experience, carelessness, wrong diagnosis and not organized. And i have a proof for every reason I just mentioned. There is a serious problem in this hospital system and everybody living in Brampton should be concerned if not for you for the coming generations your kids and grand kids. I’ll never come here again even if i am dying.

Adnan Nazir

My father had a sroke yesterday and we called ambulance so he can get medical attention asap. When we got there he was still lying on stretcher in the emergency corridor and hospital staff told us that he will have his registration first and we will have to pay ambulance service fee. Registration step took another 45 min and during that time we kept on telling the hospital staff that his condition is deteriorating minute by minute but all that was useless until he became unconscious and with all our voice they rushed him to Emergency. If he had got the medicical attention urgently, situation might have been different. Nurses in this hospital have pathetic behavior(not all of them). I heard a lot of bad experience stories about this hospital and they proved to be true. This hospital is ok for only non emergency cases.

I love this hospital. I have always had a good experience, surgeries, babies delivered...oncology team for my cancer is amazing. However, recently about a week ago, I was EXTREMELY disappointed with the doctor who saw me in the ER for my blurred vision and headaches. He told me, my eyes were just strained and my eye perscription that I've had for 2 years is too strong and to follow up with my eye doctor. He didn't do any tests other than to read the eye chart and look at his pen and answer some questions. He also refused to give me a CT or bloodwork or anything. He felt it was not needed even though my family doctor asked them to especially given the fact that I have stage 4 cancer that has spread to my lungs and chest and a nasty cancer gene thtat is prone to spread anywhere. I left to see an eye doctor, got a bunch of tests....my eyes were in perfect health, perscription fine. I left and called my family doctor and they said to ask my dentist because I had an impacted wisdom tooth pulled less than a week prior from Mt. Sinai because it had to be surgically removed carefully. So we wanted to rule out an infection or see why my vision was blurred with headaches. My husband drove me with our young children to Mt. Sinai Hospital, and they found on a recent CT I had for my tooth before they pulled it, SPOTS on my brain. Immediately they rushed for an MRI and they discovered at least 8 cancerous legions (masses) in my brain. 4 of which are over 1" in size. I was devastated and sooo unsettled. I have young children and Brampton Civic let me down with their Mickey Mouse doctor with a poor diagnosis and no care to LISTEN TO ME and my family doctor that something was wrong and a CT should of been done. For everyone reading this, trust yourself and PUSH everyone until you get your answer. Never ever go home if you still don't feel "right". This time, Mt. Sinai takes the credit for their outstanding turnaround and help and actually DID THEIR JOB. To go from "eye prescription being strong" to "BRAIN CANCER". Brampton Civic you better check your medical team in the ER annd I pray this doesn't happen to someone else. ????

Horrible. 3 hours to speak to a rude “crisis” intervention worker. If you’re given the option, do not come here. They do not care about any of their patients. Update: Very rarely will you have a doctor who listens to you here. Nurses are often very rude. After staying for a few days, my opinion is unchanged. Worst reviewed hospital for a good reason.

Janelle S

It depends on the staff on duty. The doctors are ok. Most of the nurses are unkind. In my last experience they did nothing to make me more comfortable during a painful labor. It's like they didn't care. However there was a nurse there named Charlene on a previous visit and she was exceptional at her job! The other nurses don't seem too concerned about patients

Sarbjeet Singh Saini

One of the worst hospital and emergency room. My grandmother fall in the washroom and her hip got fracture. She was in so much pain. Even after calling 911 and all. They took more then 4 hours just to give her a check-up by doctor. Everyone is rude and arrogant. Even they don't know where the patient is and everytime we gave them a call they were like sorry i'll transfer you, but they only just put on hold amd never respond back..????????????

Zed Nad

Took my 19 month old for an MRI. Everyone I interacted with was sweet and kind. The nurse who attended us was great, the sedation was smooth and then nurse made sure that my little one was conscious and alright when she woke up before letting us go home.

Michelle Balge

I had such a great experience for my day surgery at this hospital! From the second I walked in I was met with friendly faces, and I could tell that everyone throughout the whole process genuinely cared about me, how I was doing, as well as the other patients. I was so impressed with the kindness of each person that looked after me, and they made my first surgery go as smoothly as it possibly could have gone. Excellent hospital and staff :)

Invenomator

Went in with several bruises, BROKEN FOOT, broken ribs, cuts... Due to Sleepwalking! After waiting 7½ HOURS! TESTS, MRI and SEVERAL X-RAYS, THEY IGNORED MY PLEAS FOR X-RAYS OF MY FOOT, NOR OFFERED PAIN RELIEF! 8 DAYS LATER MY PHYSICIAN ARRANGED X-RAYS WHICH CLEARLY SHOWED A CRUSHED TOE! Thanks to ALL that IGNORED ME. P.S. The hallways were FULL OF COVID PATIENTS!! SAD, A BRAND NEW HOSPITAL IS ALREADY OBSOLETE AND OVERWHELMED, YET SADLY UNDERFUNDED!! GO TO PEEL IF OPEN! EXCELLENT SERVICE WHEN BROKE MY WRIST 3 YEARS AGO!

Nadya A

WORST HOSPITAL EVER, STAY AWAY IF YOU CAN!!! NICU was terrible! Nurses are no help, poor bedside-manners, doctors arent aware of any changes made to patients, they just sign off on things. I was afraid for my babys health! When asking questions nobody provides answers!

Ange “Love” Solo

I really do not understand why this hospital is rated so low. I am in emergency and I am already taking tests after seeing a doctor after 1hr. I went to Orangeville hospital for the same issue. 8.5 hrs later I left. Brampton hospital has staff who are fast and efficient. Other slow hospitals can learn from them!!!! And NO everyone does not have covid in Brampton like the news is saying.

Gurdev singh

They don’t care how much patients in pain worst kind of emergency. Patient was crying from last one hr and they said you have to wait till your number. 8th September 2020. 2nd review Majority of nurses and doctors do not care. If you care about your love ones please DO NOT go here.

Rx Thompson

My wife came Friday to emergency and took 7 hours just for the front desk to see her. Didn't get any help til she legit had a seizure while waiting. 3 different doctors telling her 3 different things, nurses who could care less when you press the button, their all at desk talking and laughing. The security at neurology seemed to care more for her well being then nurses. Several times he had to go find the nurse for us. Worst hospital in the GTA. Your doctors also should communicate and at least know each others name and look at charts instead of asking patients what the doctor on shift beforehand said

ishwar preet

I didn't believe anyone when everyone shared their bad experiences at Brampton Civic Hospital. I am sure no steps will be taken but atleast it will help me to vent out. I delivered my FIRST BABY in June, everything was good but the UNTRAINED STAFF messed up with the cord blood collection and contaminated it,for which we paid a lot of money. But the Higher authorities, just had a word sorry for the situation and were rude saying why should we give you money back, ask the private company. She should understand something which is lost once, like the cord blood cannot be regained. However, the private company said that there is contamination but still it can be preserved. We were fine. But Sunday, August 29, 2021 visit has been miserable, horrible, traumatic and what not. The moment I stepped into the so called EMERGENCY, I have been telling each nd every person that I have a 2 nd halfonths, who is just BREAST FED, thinking this would make things faster. No, I was wrong. I'd an EMERGENCY visit can take 7 hours, not complete results then, I wonder what happens in regular hours. 12:30 stepped in, with unbearable pain, just had 1/2 chapati since morning, got the bed at 8, that too in emergency, where I, my little one and my husband( he was needed because I had drip on so, couldn't take little one in nd out) adjusted. 1 cup of tea and nothing else after midnight l. August 30, early morning, blood samples, waited forever,no food, nothing, MRI done between 1:30 and 2:30. This is after the doctor said, YOUR CASE IS EXPEDITED. Small cup of apple juice and 2 tiny jelly cups. Shifted to room at around 4 or 4:30. No food, when asked, the answer was KITCHEN IS NOW CLOSED AS I WAS SUPPOSED TO EAT NON-DIADY so, no other option. After arguments, 2 more cups of food from PEDIATRICS, apple juice 2 small cups and a bread slice, which clearly states ALLERGEN WARNING EGG, MILK, WHEAT. And important is I ate one already!!! My baby is crying at home since morning as the policy doesn't allow little ones to come in, which I understand. But they could have expedited it,considering my situation but NO!!! nd again, I was told not to eat or drunk after midnight because the surgery will b done on August 31, next morning BUT NOT SURE!!! I laid on my bed without eating or drinking the whole day long and then at around 7 or 7:30 pm, I was taken for surgery!! what a long, traumatic and stressful experience it was!

Puneet Chatha

Very bad experience my mother in law admitted to hospital nobody answered the call they transfer me 6 times this is very frustrating if you want to know about your family members condition no answer talking to you very arrogantly 5 times I call today no body pick up.

Pawan Walia

Long wait time almost 8 hrs, don’t understand why nurses working there so frustrated & rude. Have no empathy for patients. I noticed while checking on patients they r talking about their weekend plans. One patient was crying in the room & asking for help & they were so busy in chit chat & ignored him until I told them to check on him …..

Sam Khan

Absolutely worse Hospital and worst service one can ever get. Extremely rude staff/nurses, lots and lots of misinformation, and when you call the hospital the calls are bounced between the Etobicoke and Brampton locations. like seriously? are we not human too just as you are?

Punkaj Parmar

Took my wife to the labor and dilevery wars a Civic. The receptionist was so rude telling my wife did you come here. She wanted her to go to Etobicoke. We live in Brampton and it was a emergency. The doctor is as rude telling her not to come to Brampton Civic. Don't doctors get paid to help everyone when required? I regret coming to this hospital and don't recommend it to others also.

Ryan Rocco

Diagnostic staff in cardiology deptt. Is exceptionally nice and knowledgeable. I wish they are going tone working next 200 years ....god bless you . Thank you.

Sally Balram

Thank you to Brampton Civic. Doctor Hays and team have provided us with what we need for our journey to recovery on our visit last night. The hospital staff is doing a fabulous job during COVID-19. We appreciate your hard work and service to the Community. Stay safe. Though wait times vary and can be improved, we commend you on what you do!

Sehar Mehar

Disgusted, disappointed in our system and in the staff of the hospital. I had my 8 month old baby who we had to bring in to the hospital emergency. While I parked the car my husband took her in. She passed out while in pain. I literally begged them to let me see her. They outrightly refused. Only one person is allowed due to covid, no I don’t thing this acceptable for babies, they are so little and need both of of their parents and so do parents need each other when they think their little babies is in so much pain and might have a had a serious head injury, needs to feel comfort and calmness. I am disgusted in our system and policy makers. Definitely hate this hospital never have I had a good experience. Lack of humanity.

Zaineb Niazi

I've been to this hospital multiple times. The staff always seems to be rude and in a rush, with the exception of a hand full number of individuals. The er doctors are always in a rush and will never give you more than a minute and a half - and that's if your lucky. After waiting for 7 hours, the doctor said: "I don't need to do much, but I will feel you belly as a formality"...and then left the room for 20minute until some random staff escorted us out the room, tell us we should be in the waiting room. Plus the emergency wait times are ridiculous. Based on HQOntario.ca the average emergency wait time at this hospital is 18.2 hours, in my experience that seems to be a very accurate reflection. Hospital management really needs to change their game plan. Please use health apps hosted by Microsoft to help you better manage patients!!

Nas Gonzal

Nurses are really RUDE, AND JUST DONT CARE.. I unfortunately came here a couple times, and always end up with arguments or problems..My mother who was very sick and old had nurses yell at her for asking a simple question. They didnt take her seriously nor did they want to listen to anything she had to say, after waiting for 7 hours.!! This is Complete garbage facility. IT IS SAD HOW THESE PEOPLE ARE HIRED FOR POSITIONS LIKE THIS. .MANAGMENT BETTER DO SOMTHING, THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!

harsimran kaur

I delivered my baby on 30th of may 2021, i had a terrible experience with nurse Anitha in labour and delivery department . Firstly the lady who gave me epidural was extremely rude and don’t know how to talk to lady who is already in extreme pain, they should know how to professionally handle the situations and at least talk in right manner. The nurse named Anitha discontinued my epidural dose when i specially requested her to please continue my dose as Doctor went to an emergency for almost an hour, but she left me in midway of pain. I literally don’t want to give any star because of my experience labour dept. specially with Anitha and another lady who gave me epidural. Not recommended please go to another hospital if you have an option.

Samantha Geib

The staff are nice. Here's my complaint I come in with an N95 mask on. I am told to remove it and put on a disposable surgical mask from a box on the counter that every person coming into that hospital touches. It's absurd they will not allow you to wear an N95 mask! I would be refused an ultrasound if I don't grab a mask from their public cesspool. Whoever is behind the desk needs to rethink their protocols. Not very sanitary at all. My N95 mask is much more effective and sanitary than that public box of masks. Disgusting! Front doors at entrance B are overwhelmed with patients/visitors. I'm extremely disappointed and not happy. I feel terrible for the staff having to enforce this.

Worst hospital ever !!!! Brought my dad here when he wasnt feeling well numerous times. The doctor told us he was lying and would just give him medicine and send him home . They even forgot to take out his iv one time and had to cab back to get it out . I finally brought him here and forced to see another doctor and have more tests done found out my dad had stomach cancer . He was brought to another floor and was watched .. the nurses did nithing to help . We did everything for him. He had a seizure and he couldnt talk so was moved to ICU .. the doctor would not tell us anything . Got a call at 6am saying to come in and by 7am my dad died. The doctor and nurses dont care and have such a bad attitude . I even came here for my epilepsy by ambulance and was just put in the hallway and has 3 nurses trying to take blood from my arm at the same time !!! Asked for a blanket and never got one , was there for 2 days and never got an answer . Had to force someone to look into things. Will never go here again

Melisa Ortega

The waiting time is appalling. If could put a 0 i would. My mother was in emergency in pain and she had to wait for 12 hrs. Non the less she had to stay overnight and they put her on a chair because they did not have beds for patients. The hospital has alot to improve.

Bharad Waj

I came for chest pain and I was well taken care off. It was quick and I felt I was diagnosed well. Initially I was hesitant to goto this hospital because of the reviews, Not as bad as the way reviews were written though! Thanks!

Trish gale

Lack of care, compassion and dignity for patients. One of my parents has been at this hospital since the first week of July and to date has had only one shower and 3 urinary tract infections due to the lack of care provided by this facility and staff. Today was a shower day but no shower was given. I asked the nurse why, she said "I don't know I wasn't here". I asked when the next shower is expected. She said next Friday. That is another 7 days away. I told her to make sure to start the antibiotics now as I expect another urinary tract infection for my parent. I forgot to mention they only change patient diapers three times a day. Don't bring your loved ones here!

Damanpreet Kaur

Really a worse place to get treatment. I don't think so it's an emergency ward bcz we have to wait 4 5 hours. I would give No Star.

Kevin Rajan

I just want to say thank you to all the Doctors, Nurses and Employees that were working hard during my visit. I had a Sharp pain in my lower right side abdomin. My family doctor suspected it was appendicitis, so I decided to go to the ER to get it checked. Getting admitted was smooth. I then got my blood work done and got a ultra sound. The Doctor confirmed it was appendicitis. I was scared when I was told the news but the doctor said it was more common than I realized and not to worry. I was admitted for a total of 3 day and During my stay I was taken care of by many nurses, all of them were amazing and kind and just simply the best. Some of the great nurse names were; Nana, Rachel and Sheri there were also two other but I didnt get you names. You were all great. During my stay I had a consultation with the surgeon. Dr Malik. He was great. Smart and to the point. He heard that I was concerned about the surgery and said I could do only the antibiotics since my case wasn't as bad yet. So I was put on antibiotics for 3 days and he told me I could go home with antibiotics. He told me if anything changed we would have to do the surgery, would is understandable. My stay at brampton civic was amazing and it's full of amazing people. Now to address some of the comments that are being left in the reviews. For the PEOPLE complaining about the long wait times...I had to wait to...the PROFFESSIONAL know who needs to be treated first. You aren't the only one in the hospital there are soo many people going through things you aren't aware of and the doctors and nurse are all attending to the emergency. So stop being selfish, relax and thing for a moment. This is just a example but just cuz ur in pain cuz of kidney stones, doesn't mean it's the end of the world. They made decisions on who to attend to first, so you should wait. If it's a emergency they will deal with you, but don't complain about Long wait. Just because your in pain doesn't mean u NEED to be taken care of immediately, others are in pain too. Anyways this hospital is great. Employees are great. Thank you for everything you do.

Amelie Gosselin

ATC nurses are so rude and don't even pay attention to you. I understand the ER is very busy but if you can't work with patient please stay home! Nurses were yelling at each other tonight in the ATC (ER). Do not ask any questions to the nurses, they ignore you. Very poor service!

Zuhair Raza

Would give it 0 stars, no customer service or customer support. It seems as if they want you out without any help instead of helping you out. I was trying to get my relative checked for a critical condition and the first the staff said was, "it will be a 3 hour wait and she'll have to go alone." Rude, impatient, and reluctant staff

Rosita Latchman

The nurses are rude and unless. Everyone moves in slow motion. ???? the nurses are busy chit-chating rather than paying attention to patients. I have been at the hospital from 9 PM until 8AM the next day. If you are dying don't go there. Poor management.

A W

5 stars for excellent labour and delivery. Staff and facilities were great. Parking is reasonable if you select the multi entry Day pass or multi day pass options on the machine, valid for a year. End of the day, all of our hospitals have challenges. Frustrated Patients should understand that with provincial government cuts, healthcare workers are trying to provide services while maintaining safety and patient care. There may be waits. Just go in with realistic expectations.

Petra Fox

Was in this hospital for total knee replacement. Sent home same day just to end up back there because the pain was unbearable. I understand that they need beds, but I needed help to get home. My son was the only person that could get me. Unfortunately he was 4 hours away. . My nurse Navneet told me I can not stay. Went to washroom when I came back my blanket and pillow was already gone.. I am now sitting in the lobby for the next 2 to 3 hours light headed and in pain. I understand that they needed the bed, but there are nicer ways to discharge patients.

GloW4it

VERY disappointed in the level of customer service by staff answering the phones. Offering no information or effort to provide an update on patient status and VERY RUDE when they are asked. Nice lady in Emergency tells me to ask for "access and flow" as noone can find my mom after surgery and the COW who answers the phone won't put me through... thats nice. Hope you are never in a position where you are concerned about a loved one. F*in cow.

doug johnson

l was abused by the nurses. They told me to shut up more than one time. They used a bucket from a you no what to put my infected leg on so she could clean my leg.She cleaned with cold water....so she could give me a bed bath. The surgeon who was in charge was the very best .The doctor in charge played games with my pain medications .He gave me large amounts of tylenol number one and advil.l was vomiting and they would not change my nausea medication .l could not brush my teeth.....lost my back teeth...will have to pay 8000 dollars to fix everything.p.s.they removed the emergency button so l could not reach it and took away all the medications l was taking at home. All of this is so sad...the first time l was in this hospital a few years ago.... they left me with serious bed soars .l will not complain unless it is needed.Shame on this hospital.L.J.

Navdeep L. works at mental health intensive clerical at Brampton Civic - an absolute gem - caring, supportive, courteous & attentive - What a shining example for the others!

SYED IRFAN

In mid March this year i had blood test done through my family doctor and i found out that my iron and hemoglobin levels are very low. I am experiencing lack of energy, i am sleeping a lot and usually dizzy. My family doctor referred me to Oncologist. The Oncologist told me to visit their clinic for more detailed blood test which i did. I was informed that on April 26th the Oncologist will call me over the phone and let me know the report. The Oncologist called , he is very polite , professional and very respectful. i was informed that my iron level and Hemoglobin levels have improved a little since i am on medication. Unfortunately the Oncologist inform me that the lab had forgotten to do the important test which i went for. I lost one month and half waiting to hear that my issue has been pin pointed and i can proceed with the correct treatment. As every one time is important so is my time and most importantly my health. I had two questions only so i called and i was told to call a different number as that department can not answer my concern. I called the other number i was told that the previous number should have answered. I had called Oncology department I understand that they are busy but i had only two questions. The hospital should take the patients more seriously as there time is important so is mine and mot importantly my health. All hospitals and clinics are not based on the structure but on patient care.

Bueshan Arulnesan

Sheetal from Patient Experience has been doing great job in her role in assisting patients, and making sure they have the best experience possible.

Harjasman kaur

I delivered my baby here and had the worst experience. Staff and nurses were always irritated and not supportive at all. I was being said that I need to deliver baby before the nurse shift ends. I was hungry since morning and nurse denied to give me any food even after I delivered just because their dinner time was over in maternity ward. Made to walk without any support just within an hour after delivery and moved out of labor room even after requesting to wait for 30 minutes more so as my husband would be back from home to get some food (there was seriously no rush mon that day and other labor rooms were idle even then pushed me out). Not recommended for child birth, not sure about other departments.

Shankar Ambady

I have read some bad review about the hospital and though I should also add our experience to it.We recently had baby in William Osc. We would vouch 4 Star for the Delivery ward. The Nurses were very knowledgeable and helpful.Jasime (one of nurse) who helped us all through the pregnancy was extremely kind and knowledgeable. I would vouch 5 for her.She had immense experience. She was so kind and ready to answer any questions. Superb service! They went beyond and also helped us to get a private room very fast.I could also say that there were other nurses not very good and ready to help. Doctors - gynecologists / pediatricians were knowledgeable and provided us with excellent service. The postmortem maternity ward too was not very bad.The nurse who helped most of our time here was too good. Not to mention - hospital has absolutely all the services and is clean.

Michelle M

Zero stars. This hospital is atrocious. They treat patients absolutely inhumanely. I was with a relative who was pregnant at the time in the Maternity Ward due to pain that ended up being a bladder infection. The nurses took turns playing a game of “guess her due date” to see if she qualified be seen in that ward or to redirect her to Emergency. It was gross and humiliating. My relatives, A & B, were brought there by ambulance after a car accident. B was pregnant and was told by staff she needed an ultrasound. They did none and told her to go home, or visit emergency downstairs for a more thorough assessment “if she wants”. “A” was in pain and told by an RN to get up and walk because she wasn’t going to help her; not even to get up. She had to move around to be registered, assessed etc. I don’t know how there aren’t law suits against this place. They should not be responsible for caring for any living person or creature. Staff are beyond desensitized, unmotivated or in need of mental health help, because this level of depravity and carelessness should not be tolerated in a healthcare facility. It’s unethical to treat people this way.

Jenn K

Appt for fracture clinic at 740...830 and still sitting in the waiting room. Why make appointments if you dont actually follow them. *UPDATE 2 full hours we have sat here.

Carrie

I would sooner die than have to rely on this place for medical help, it's abhorrent. Edit: I wanted to go more in length, since I see others experiences mirrored my own. I have a slew of issues, the main two being chronic back pain and anxiety issues, including panic attacks. Both times I went here by ambulance (both for nausea, which makes me anxious), the ambulance people were great but then I was left in a waiting area in a wheelchair and ignored. I was in too much pain to sit upright for long both times, and started to have severe panic attacks due to being in horrible discomfort and none of the staff seeming to even see me, let alone care. Both times, I told many people about my pain and panic attacks, but did not receive adequate help (or any). The staff seemed to move along at a casual pace, chatted with each other like it was a social club, and didn't even seem to notice the patients in discomfort. Its like I was invisible, most wouldn't even look at me. Some were cold and rude, others robotic. One or two who seemed to have some empathy, but that didn't get me proper care. I felt like I wasn't even human to them, like some animal. I'm sure most are burnt out and overworked, but we need better than this. Both times I eventually could not stand it anymore and fled the hospital without a diagnosis. The second time I ripped out an IV to do this, I was this desperate and miserable. This is not ok, and noone deserves to go through that kind of experience. We NEED another fully functional hospital in this city and the staff here needs to wake the hell up. All my love to medical staff who do show compassion and empathy.

DALIBORKA DOSEN

The best care I have received in Canada. Without question. It is a shame that some people throw stones at this hospital and doctors and beautiful nurses and their trainees. I moved from Etobicoke to Mississauga and than to Brampton with my husband and 3 kids. Don't ask about sprained ankles because of rollerblading, my son's broken wrist because he misjudged a tree brunch... bicycle accident and school yard concussion where i had to leave work without telling my boss... All of those at dreadful Mississauga hospital. Wait time at ER 9 hours!!! We moved to Brampton and wait time at ER was 2 hours! I couldn't believe it. Just recently, I had an angiogram. I am 49 and had a scare with my heart. I can't say enough about doctor or nurses or any supporting staff that were there for me. And for my family over the years. Kind, understanding, professional and plain just human. To all of you that wrote unkind reviews... All i can say is are you over-expecting? It is not a hotel. Or resort. Get a grip on reality. My personal experiences over the last 10 years were amazing. The last experience... I felt like a family member. So all i will say is thank you to all of you who took such a good care of my family over the years and for making me feel like a family when i was so scared in October. Thank you and God bless you!

haseeb chishti

I wish I could rate in -negative. staff is really unprofessional. long wait. and even they don't guide you where to go..I had heart problem but nobody cared.

Colleen MacRae

13 hours now that my 90 yr old Mother has been on a bed in 2 different hallways today. First 5 hours, not one single staff stopped to check her this morning. They have decided to keep her overnight, however no room to put her in. This is a disgraceful health care system. And to the people sending static replies from the hospital administration, dont bother, it's not even close to sincere.

G. B

I had an awesome experience at Brampton Civic Hospital when I delivered my son in September 2016. My main nurse Sandeep Gill was so amazing that I felt so much at ease in that stressful time. I know people complain about wait times and bad experience but it's because they are short staffed most of the time but once you get it you get amazing treatment. Thanks to all the nurses and doctors at Brampton Civic Hospital.

Michael Marino

This hospital’s definition of patient care is “as slow as possible.” There is no urgency and no care in the atmosphere of the hospital. They do not care and as a result the wait times are extremely long. Its worth driving an extra hour to go to a different hospital.

Jo-Anne Gravelle

I would like to thank all the staff in the Brampton Civic Hospital CPU. My dad was admitted after his angiogram on Monday up to his transfer to Trillium today and the care he has received thus far is amazing!! It has been very difficult not being able to visit him; however, the nurses made it so easy for us to get in touch with him since he doesn't have a phone. We will never forget their compassion and the care they showed towards my dad! Forever grateful!! ???? I would also like to thank a very special person, Janeal, at Entrance B who made our initial visit Monday morning so easy and stress-free when she took my dad under her wing and made sure he'd get to where he needed to be. We encountered her again in the afternoon when we dropped items off for my dad. She's an angel! ????

Kevin George

I really wish our Mayor or any political figure would take a serious look at our healthcare system!!! If Google would give me the option, I would have put 0 stars. This place is an absolute joke; it's sad to see where our tax paying dollars go. My mother in law had to be taken by ambulance to this place, just to have us wait 3 hours to be moved to a waiting room. Ended up waiting another hour and a half just for someone to see her, followed by about another 3 hours of just sitting and waiting. After a total of about 8 hours, the CT scan was reviewed and a "doctor" came to let us know that we would have to wait until Tuesday (mind you we were in there on Saturday) to see a specialist at another location. This "doctor" advised that the other office would contact us prior to let us know the appointment time for Tuesday, but come to find out when we reached out to them this Tuesday morning, no communication was ever sent to them from Brampton Civic. On top of that, the doctor they had told us to meet here is not actually in the office until Thursday. So now she's depending on pain killers to alleviate the pain, and my fiance has been running between Georgetown and Credit Valley hospitals trying to get some help. Honestly, this place shouldn't even exist, it's a total waste of time going there for any reason. If my mother in law hadn't been in so much pain, I would've driven her to another hospital, but in the heat of the moment, all you want to do is ensure that your loved one is going to be taken care of. Avoid this hospital as much as possible, your emergency is casual matter at this place!!! On a separate occasion I had to take my fiance to the emergency as she fell terribly sick. After waiting about 3 plus hours we were taken to another waiting room, waited another hour just for a "doctor" to come and GOOGLE her symptoms, in front of us, and diagnosed her based on his Google search. I did the same thing in my car before walking in and looked at the same website he did. I now can consider myself a doctor seeing as they use Google to diagnose patients. Absolute joke.

Take your chances at another hospital. I never came here and went to Georgetown when I was diagnosed with GBS. I ended up being transferred to Oakville Trafalgar where they already knew what GBS was. The care I received was outstanding. I met a woman who went to Brampton and had GBS but she was misdiagnosed. She ended up at a Senior's home for rehabilitation.

I just wish persons here were a little more compassionate when it comes to baby. My baby is teething of course , she has a fever but i can smell that she has a throat infection. I told the doctor an nurses that this is my 2nd time here in 2 weeks because of the same symptoms. They keep telling me take her home an give tylenol every 4 hrs. Its been almost 5 days my baby isnt eating , her lips are cracking bcus she cant eat or drink. You people here really need to go back to medical school an adjust your attitude.

My wife had an appointment earlier today September 25th at 745 am at the MRI Diagnostic Imaging department at BCH. I was asked to come in 45 minutes before my appointment which I did. I was made to wait 30 minutes beyond my scheduled appointment and Finally when I asked why were two other patients who checked in after me were taken before me I was told the room that I was supposed to go to the technician did not show up to work. I asked don't you have a system in place where you would know if a colleague is absent ? How can a department run so mismanaged ? It was only after I questioned why was I not taken in first the staff explained the reason. Every technician shared the same line " We are short staffed" what they had to say was we are unorganized and mismanaged as we were clueless you were the first appointment and we are sorry we took two other patients who came in after you before you. The staff on duty were rude and kept arguing instead of apologizing and admitting they were wrong. The technician who attended to me said please go ahead and put your review so at least they will read this and provide more staff, if you are short staffed that's not my problem the department was mismanaged unorganized and staff looked unhappy and miserable there was no courtesy to talk politely to patients, another Asian technician spoke to me so rudely, that I can't imagine .I thought you train staff to be courteous and empathetic with patients on the contrary he spoke down to me, clearly this is a sign of a staff that is miserable and not happy in their work environment. Terrible experience at BCH from this morning its a shame I had to deal with a department so unprofessional, unorganized and unethical. Shame on you BCH please take some tips from other hospitals . I am disappointed with the MRI department the technicians must be taught some manners. Disappointed Patient !!

This place doesn't deserve a star. My father was recently admitted and they have hung up the phone and transferred me to dead lines on me SEVERAL times, called me with smug attitudes to ask me a ton of questions to not connect me to my father, kept me from seeing and talking to my father. They moved him so I don't know what room he's in, disconnected the telephone line and allowed and communicated health information to a woman who is not his next of kin in any way. She's not a girlfriend, not a wife, not sister... not next of kin relations whatsoever and they even allowed her to make decisions without a POA allowing them to do things to him without consent from me or my sister. Through it all I have been polite and calm to no avail. After sending an email to the Federal Government, Chief of Patient Experience at Brampton Civic Hospital, College of Physicians and Surgeons, College of Nurses a physiotherapist contacted me to ask me more questions and still I haven't been able to get in touch with my father. Now I see what's going. They have decided that I am a nobody and nothing thus they can't respond to a nobody and a nothing.

It looks like staff of diagnostic images department is totally out of mind .. they should not be too rude to patients over phone specially with new patients.. ok fine agree with your frustration and workload but be loyal to your job and duties..

I’ve have never been admitted to the Brampton Civic Hospital, giving God thanks for keeping me healthy. With that being said, I have quite a bit of my appointment's here! I’ve been on various floors, and area of the hospital, I have nothing but praise. Thank you to *ALL*the reception staff in the different department’s, individual Doctor’s, appointment booking staff, appointment letter notifications (by mail), phone call reminders. Thank you, thank you for taking good care of me during my appointment time. I wish, I remembered all you names to list below, you know who you are as I’ve thanked you already in person. Keep up the great job! I truly appreciate all of you????.

Amanda Babic

The level of care and concern provided by staff at this hospital is appalling. They are dismissive, disrespectful and refuse to addres your concerns over a sick patient. If you have another choice please do not go here.

Beatriz Vázquez

I was admitted due to a complication with my pregnancy and had to stay in the hospital for 3 weeks until my baby was born, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised given what I’ve seen in the reviews of the hospital. I gave birth to my second child here and I have to say I had a way better experience than the one from my first baby at Mount Sinai. The maternity ward staff and the labour and delivery staff that delivered my baby were amazing, the nurses at the maternity ward took great care of myself and they monitored my baby thoroughly. They were all very nice and empathetic: I’m inly giving this hospital 4 stars because I did experience extremely long waiting times during this pregnancy in the emergency room. 6 Hours wait for a doctor to come back to me with results form my tests and tell me everything was fine and I could go home. In cases like this someone else should ve able to tell a patient they ate good to go, particularly wince all the covid cases that were arriving to the hospital and I was pregnant. The emergency room must definitely improve

Jessica Fernandez

I had a pre scheduled MRI done here and had a great experience. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and pleasant at 2:40am!

Doctors become doctors for the money not for the love of humanity. This Hospital like most Canadian hospitals only hire greedy money hungry doctors.

Aashna Makin

Absolutely failure as a Hospital. All they have to offer as a solution is to stop medical help and let the person go even when the patient is fighting so hard. Carelessness to another level. Worse for anyone's physical and mental sanity. Lack of on-time treatment lead to a death of a loved one. Their emergency services are pathetic, patients are left on the wheelchair. No updates. No help. No treatment.

Dona Perera

My very first experience/impression at the emergency was speechless. Rude lady at the registration desk really needs to learn to be patient and nice to people unless she is getting paid to throw stupid attitudes at people. She worked on 29th July 2020, around 2pm, desk #4. On the other hand doctors and nurses were really kind which is more important.

Faiza Shah

I would avoid going there at any cost unfortunately had to take my mom to this dump as she was ambulanced in i had no other options. They all work at snail pase sit around sip on water. Its horrible, no one cares there is no "emergency". Nothing in their book constitutes as an emergency. Its extremely sad to see everyone hurting and no staff or Dr care. I cant express the disappointment of this hospital. It took 6 plus hours for blood work to be done took another 2 hours for reports. The. We sat around waiting for the Dr for another 4 hours to tell us absolutely nothing. Its unbelievably frustrating.

Susan Vacca

My husband has been brought in by EMS a couple of times since January and hospitalized once. The care and attention he received was first rate. People need to remember that this is one of the busiest hospitals in Canada and that they should seek help from their family physicians or walk in clinics whenever they can when they have non-emergency ailments. This would certainly help reduce the waiting time for actual emergency cases. There is also limited space in the emergency area so families should try and limit the amount of family members that arrive with each patient.

Aminah Khokhar

Absolutely horrible experience, my dad is a cancer patient and was taken to emergency. My dad had waited 3 days at the emergency section and was mistreated by a lot of the nurses. What’s the point of being a nurse if you can’t take care nor help a patient who is extremely ill and is unable to walk. I can’t believe they are giving licence to these nurses. They should be going through ethics training and start listening to their patients. My dad is a superhero, he was in so much pain but still spoke to the nurse with respect. The doctors are incredibly nice but the nurses are just horrible and rude.

Basira Wardak

If there was an option for no star I will choose that one , the worst service in emergency section they are really don’t care ????????

manpreet kaur

They have very unprofessional staff and they treat patient’s like animals and even they don't care if the pregnant lady getting bleeding in front of them. I went there on 12/30/2021 in evening because I had terrible pain due to pregnancy and waited 2 hours but nobody cares there and all the staff was very rude even the security who was punjabi uncle was very rude to every paitents . plz never go there . this is terrible hospital I ever seen in my life.????

Satinder Kaur

Worse hospital and staff. I visited emergency department 3 times but no one cares about you they will leave a person to die. Doctors are so unprofessional they just told you go back to your family doctor they will treat you then why you were their if you cannot treat any patients. Shame on that type of doctors. Worse healthcare system.

Sumit Dharamsi

I went to cardiology for some tests. Excellent, friendly employees right from security to COVID screening to registration to the cardiology department. Everything right on time, with smiles all around.

Kat Segota

Horrible the nurses are so rude no empathy no patience and they do spiteful things to you i don't even want to give 1 star

Roma Saxena

I had Total Knee surgery at this hospital. I was blown away by the commitment and dedication of the staff. They were well prepared and ready to answer any questions patiently. My experience was awesome. the services in all departments were outstanding during these challenging COVID times. Giving credit to all the staff members I'd like to mention a few. Angela, the before surgery prep, Nurse was very clear in conveying all the instructions on the phone. Lynne Anne, arranged all the Physio needs of the patients. Firstly a ZOOM class with Kathy the Physiotherapist. Lynne Anne also arranged for the post surgery Physiotherapy according to the needs of the patients. She made sure of the proximity of the rehab center to the residence of the patients. Chirag Patel.. the physiotherapist was caring and making sure that he gave clear instructions and pushed the patients according to their needs and abilities. Dr. Gyomorey...the surgeon was outstanding in his job and as a human being. He was always there for after surgery recommendations and answered all my questions. A big thank you to the staff of this hospital.

William Martinez-Ramirez

Been going to the hospital around 2018 for mental health reasons, and the psychiatrist department specifically Dr.Das has been excellent, the staff is top notch. I was once scared going to hospitals , and they made it a lot easier. I also apologize for mentioning names it just needs to be said. Thank you!

Hopeton Rodney

Long long wait times to see a doctor if you're not feeling 10 out of 10 pain ratio or anything that is required immediate attention

Gail Travers

I find William Osler hospital needs to more empathetic when it comes to seniors with cognitive issues and allow family members to go in with the parent, specifically when going into oncologist for the first time to find out where the cancer is and help support their parent. The staff that are check patients in should be more empathetic towards families and stop puffing there chests out and threatening to throw families out for asking Questions about going in with there terrified families, and here in Ontario we have gold standards of health care and hipa. In which I believe this hospital lacks care and empathetic compassion. This has happened more then i would care to say about this hospital. One day it may be your parents, oh but wait, because you work there it will be different for your hospital family. I have witnessed this one more then one time

Kunwarpreet Singh

Been 6 hours waiting outside the emergency department. I came with my friend who had an accident few hours before and she was told to wait for sometime. I mean, is sometime 6 hours? crazy!!

Chris P

Absolutely avoid at all costs and go to an urgent care or surrounding hospital if needed. While the nurses are doing their best and show compassion, the doctors and other staff are just ridiculous. I would give it 0 stars if possible.

Christina Smith

Reading some of the comments on here, and I couldn't agree more with all of them. Scariest, worst experience I have ever had. This has got to be the most unprofessional hospital I have ever seen. One comment I was reading here states that the outside and lobby are pristine while patient rooms are filthy and in disrepair, and I find it ironic that I had thought the exact same thing. I have spent every day of the last two months at this hospital while my husband was on the neurology floor with a brain injury and I can tell you that just through internet research and talking with other people in support groups, that I knew more than the nurses and even the attending doctor on the floor. And I had to stand by and watch as the doctor on the floor prescribed totally unnecessary medications with out even looking at my husband. One mistake after another, right from the onset. Patient safety goes beyond to equipment and wheel chairs in disrepair and falling apart. The chair they put my husband in had breaks that didn't work so they tried to use tongue depressors behind the wheels to prevent it from rolling. The left side head rest was not the proper part for the chair and was below the shoulder and my husband being unable to hold himself up would lean and his head would hang over and if he leaned too far the thing would fall off the chair completely and my husband would hang out of the chair. If you want minimal, basic care with one mistake after another and no bed side manner, no humanity, compassion or extra effort by so called "professionals", then this is the hospital to take your loved ones to. The culture is very much all about "minimal care and pass you off to the next"... Even while in the ICU, nurses had very little knowledge and I was always given conflicting and incorrect information. "MRI is normal", MRI is not normal", "He has a blood infection", "No he has a bacteria in his poop" and then doctor says " No he has a urine infection". Two entire months of this. My husband needed to be restrained to keep him from pulling tubes so nurses found it convenient to tie him as tight as possible and forget him, especially during the night while I wasn't there. I would go in in the mornings and find my husband in disarray, full of feces and I could tell that he had suffered in pain all night and one day found his hands bound so tight that his one hand was as blue as his night gown. Thankfully we have moved my husband out of this hospital and had only been at the new hospital less than a day and was already receiving better care and even therapy, which Brampton civic refused to provide.

susan hawes

have never had a good experience there. wait times far too long, ER staff rude, distracted and apathetic.

I don't even want to finish reading the reviews here because we have all experience negligent behaviour from Brampton Civic Hospital and Etobicoke General at 100 Humber Blvd. Their negligent behaviour is the reason why my 91 year old grandma E. Copeland died at there hospital on May 31, 2019. Sepsis was recorded on the Medical Death Certificate of E. Copeland. My grandma entered the hospital around early April; Instead of puting the woman in some care unit and taking care of her they were slow to react and while sepsis was shutting down her body slowly, the uncaring and unprofessional nurse said my grandmas has dementia. One thing about grandmas was that she had a good memory and no history of demensia. The terrible care that they gave her proves that Canada Health System has gone down the drain. These Nurses needs to be recertify and they keep complaining to the family that they are understaffed. I am going to write to our Health Minister because I have spoke to a few neighbours who said that their family member was given such bad care that it caused their death and my family and I have experienced it. I believe it is because these Hospital surrround the minority enclave and so nobody cares. My grandmother was strong and almost all her sisters lives until the late 90s. I do understand why the reviews here are so bad and we should all complain to the Ministry of Health.. I wish we had driven the extra miles to go to another hospital. Grandma, we are so sorry!!! Rest in Peace! Grandma was immobile at the lower half of her body, she could feed herself and move the upper part but it seems like she had a break out of bed ulcer at the back and the hospital kept her without treating her and sent her to a Reactivation center where they found out she had a bad ulcer and they sent her back to the hosptial for treatment. The hospital claim that they clean her every day and did not see any ulcer and that she was fine to go home and it was the Rehab facility that found her bed ulcer at the back near her bum. Instead of isolating my 91 years old strong grandma, and sanitizing the area and treating her ulcer/bed sore, they kept her in a room with other patients exposing my grandma and other patients. To make a long story short my grandma caught Sepsis and died at the hospital. The death Certificate named the cause of death: Sepsis. Every elderly person admitting should be given a full assessment and a skin test using the fingers. This place should not decide who lives and who dies. My grandma came here to be taken care of but was neglected. Please do not take your family to the Brampton Civic Hosptial under no circumstances. The nursing staff and the doctor gave us the ok to take grandma home telling us a lie that she was well but we told them that she is not well and then they decide to send her to the Reactivation/Rehab and the Rehab did a better job than the hospital and found my grandma bed ulcer/ sore and then they ordered her back to the hosptial making the nurses and doctor looking completely incompetent. I have heard of another story where a christian family lost their loved one because of carelessness done by the staff at Brampton Civic. How many more patients has to be neglected and end up dead before we contact the Ministry of Health. The staff told us to take sick grandma home and they will give us a bed and everything she needs, I have a strong feeling that they knew that her test came back showing that their neglected response is causing my grandma body to fail slowly while sepsis ravage her and take over her body. I find that difficult to believe that they will give us a hospital bed to take home since they have a difficult time finding toiletries for the patients. I did not know that Canada is a third world country. This hospital treatment is more like Third World. We bring our own bath gel to the hospital. How can medical staff members restrain a 91 years old patient with bed Ulcer on her back. My poor grandma was in pain.

Andrea Simmons

In all reality, if your leg was falling off you'd be better re-attaching it yourself - results will probably be the same. They won't do a thing for you unless you are about to die on their doorstep. They made me return several times for IV medication for an impacted tooth, Got to the point where I couldn't breathe due to swelling in my face and throat and ONE nurse who knew what she was doing admitted me for emergency surgery due to the amount of poison building up from the infection. This is something I visited the hospital ER for 6 TIMES. It took that many times for someone to see the severity of the situation and actually DO SOMETHING about it. Don't go here unless you absolutely need to.

Gilbert Tsai

The nurses and support staff have generally been amazing but unfortunately that isn't enough to make up for this terrible establishment. My grandfather barely speaks English and was in the ER for three days. He was transferred out and we have received no information as to where he is, or where he was transferred to. When I spoke to customer inquiry, the staff member who picked up the phone sounds completely apathetic and instantly transfers me out to another department in which the phone line endlessly rings. Avoid this hospital at all costs and drive to Creditview.

Dalz Sam

Well done for the little pig at the registration desk who dont know how to speak to ppl. Totally rude she work on the 17th july 2020 was was in the 3pm shift. This is the worst hospital I ever went to if you wants to die go there. Simply no one pay attention to you after your health card enters the system.

Lalu Lad

My mon is 90 years old, not a Covid patient, she become ill seriously and she is admitted to Emergency on 31-May-2021, it has been three days now, I am calling since two days to find out how she is doing, some time some one pick up the phone and says call later, some time some one hang up the phone, some time no one answer the phone. What I should do is any one can help me, why is happening like that? Appreciated if some one can get back to me with help to reach out my mom. Thanks

Lida M. - Toronto

The worst attitude I ever recieved from staff. In emergency nobody are paying attention to patients and they are very rude. I recommend nobody to go to this hospital.

Melanie King

****WARNING DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD TO The Diabetes Education Clinic!!!! It needs to be shut down and the Dr and nurses fired and stripped of their license and credentials. DR. Zborovski has clearly checked out and doesn't care a lick about patient care. The social worker on staff is uneducated and delusional. The "nurses" are a whole other problem. Val (nurse) and Dr. Zborovski both I assume are senior staff could care less when complaints are brought their attention. Julian (I think she's a nurse, if you can call her that) for one should be held criminally responsible for the lack of "care" she provides and it's basically a miracle a child hasn't died from the negligence she gives their health and care.

Aiswarya Mohanan

I was admitted to Brampton Civic hospital on Dec 23 night and gave birth to my baby on Dec 24 morning around 11 AM . My experience with labour and pediatric department was great. I want to thank each and every health care provider who helped me during my delivery process in room number 20 on Dec 23 and Dec 24. My nurses Sienna, Kiranpreet.Kaur , Aqsa Soumya were very kind and helpful. There were other nurses as well who took good care of me at room number 20 during my delivery process ( unfortunately I forgot their names ). I have no words to express my gratitude to Dr Sahi, Dr Quyhn Lee and Dr Vishal Bedi for their services.

Venna Richards

I want to thank you to all the staffs that working on Dec 9, 2021. I had a day surgery at 10.30am with Dr. Lo and I am very happy with how the staffs at the hospital taking care of me from before and after the surgery. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Everything went well, Dr. Lo and the anesthesiologist did a great job!

jim kiriakopoulos

I have to thank all the staff of the hospital who took care of me on my urgent admission. The nurses who prepared me for the operation, the Anesthesiologist, the nurses Laura, Joy and Jasmine who took care of me after the operation, Dr. Iona and of course Dr. kapila the top of the group who is not only a top scientist he is also a top humanitarian! God bless all of you

Harman Dhillon

After wasting 5 hours with my 3 week's baby they say we can't do anything????????

Jacob Aga

I came 4 times in total for emergencies. Each time i returned back home after waiting for a couple of hours. It is frustrating for me to wait that long after seeing the level of service even at 3rd world countries. Entered 11 pm and now it is 4.23 am. I got sicker here. I dont blame the workers. They are trying their best. But apparently 1 hospital is not enough for Brampton. There is excess of doctors searching jobs, plenty of empty land to build another hospital. Why this torture?

JAY POW

My mother in law was having a heart procedure at age 88, due to Covid we had not been able to see her and it was a very stressful time. We contacted the patient experience office and two very helpful individuals , Sheetal and Robert arranged a virtual call with her in very quick order , they were professional and caring. While at Etobicoke hospital ( before being transferred to Brampton for the heart procedure) she raved about the quality of care and the compassion shown to her by some very busy nurses and front line workers. Now in the Brampton Hospital she is very pleased with the care and attention she has rec'd there . Our health care system is under extreme duress due to Covid and we are so appreciative of the front line people who keep smiling and helping their patients during an incredibly difficult time. Thank you very much!!

Aziz Khan

My daughter was admitted to the pediatric care for 2 nights and I have to say that this was probably the best care/service that I've seen at any ON hospital. Holly and Rebecca the 2 nurses that helped us were so caring and helpful. They helped us with everything without any hesitation and/or frustration. They were gentle with my daughter and showed compassion. The room was clean and the food was provided on time. The triage nurse at Emergency, I believe her name was Jennifer was absolutely fantastic. This now is my go to hospital for any emergencies. Thank you William Osler for all your help when we needed it the most.

Nicole

So disappointed... Had to be taken to hospital by Ambulance (6 am), was left in the registration area (stomach pain, unexplainable pain). Later to find out (in my opinion) the reason the Ambulance staff left me there because they forgot their equipment at my house and rushed back to get it!) Registration nurse took her time, no compassion at all as I sat there doubling over in pain. Then after I was forced (through short breaths) to give her my address etc, was simply wheeled into the waiting area for emerg and left there for the next non- compassionate person to 'deal' with me. After awhile I had to hobble myself to the desk to plead for help and something for the pain. One of the staff completely ignored me like I wasn't even there and when he did talk to me he acted as if I was interrupting him. Was then told there were no beds (must about 10 in total avail - shameful for a emerg dept!!). Finally then got a bed but still waited for someone to help. No compassion, no feelings, not sure what happened to have the staff act the way they do but no regard or feeling for their patients. Even overheard one of the staff comment "this f'in place" as if we (the patients) were the issue. Finally after being there over an hour I was treated and given something for the pain. Oh and let's not forget that the nurse trying to put in my IV missed my veins 3x before another nurse had to help! The waiting time is ridiculous. Could not believe how patients are treated and the confusion. Only about 2 doctors on staff - how can you do this to people!! For those who come into the emerg because you have a sore back or the sniffles, please find yourself a regular doctor and leave the emerg for people who really need it. If I can help it I WILL NEVER go back to this hospital. What are my tax dollars paying for!!!

Liz Sant

I had a great experience in the ER dept. Every staff member I came into contact with acted like they were happy to be at work and were very considerate. The doc I saw was amazing with my little guy and took his time with us. There was a wait, but that will be the case at any ER, particularly during Covid.

huda muhanad

Had an appointment for MRI. Fairly quick ! Staff were nice ,the technician “ashka” was very kind !

Susan Tompkins

I had a severe ankle dislocation and double fracture, I attended this hospital 5 times and each and every time was treated with the utmost care and respect from everyone I came in contact with, even during the worst of COVID and changing the rules every day on all concerned. If anyone has a complaint here, I expect you should look to yourself for a reason that you felt you were not treated properly. (How did you treat them?) Kudos to all the staff at this facility, over and above the required care!!

JM

I would rate this hospital zero if I could rate it negative I would. Worst experience in emergency room we waited a long time to see doctor. I went their with my 1 year old baby to ER 10:20pm and seen by doctor 4:30 am. My baby was crying the entire time we are waiting and staffs doesn't seem to care.

The Corsair

After waiting many hours, got yelled at by a doctor for coming in with "not an emergency" after being told by Telehealth to be seen as soon as possible (they suggested 3-4 hours or that same day at the latest) for my condition. The urgent care in Brampton has been closed since April and has a sign outside to go to the ER instead. My family doctor could not see me for over a week. I went home feeling shame on top of illness and with no help, only a gigantic bruise where the phlebotomist messed up.

Zach Tune

I have to give a big shout out to Martin and Jamie who took care of me when I hashed my hand. Very polite, friendly and supportive workers. Keep up the great work you too.

J D

Waited 5 hours in the emergency room and no actual test were done. My father had severe pain the chest and i rushed to emergency. They did ECR and said its not a heart attack and keep waiting. Waiting time should be decreased or more resources must allotted to this hospital for timely treatment

Michael Moran

Just going to point out the two worst experiences... Went to emerg with a dying liver, since they were overpopulated they DISCHARGED ME .. if I hadn't gone back to be there for my friend and decided to get ymself checked again due to stomach pain, I would have died. Currently have an apendix about to burst and I've been sitting in the waiting room for two hours. The nurses all sit around and talk about their favourite tv shows instead of actually working or dealing with patients. These people do not care about you whatsoever and just want their shift to end. Please do not hurt yourself, don't come to this hospital. It's a complete joke

Romeo Goro

my father died in this hospital this 5 days ago ,my father died because doctors or nurses give him too much insulin after stop breathing, all doctors and nurses stopped and doesn't care about patients, before one day I take my father to hospital was good breathing and healthy ,the doctor do the operation to my father was no good and died,

James Caldwell

My father recently passed away and the care he received from Dr. Martin Chasen was totally inadequate. He prescribed exercise to my bed ridden father and while he was on call he was the nurses could not get ahold of him and had to wait until the next doctor became on call to speak with a doctor. This "doctor" is the most unprofessional incompetent doctor I have experienced.

Srinivas Makapothula

My wife had cyst which was very painful and she was suffering from pain from last four days and she could not take the pain anymore.so we decided to go to the hospital and reached the emergency by 11.30 pm. They allotted us room by 1.00 am.the doctor came in and spoke to my wife once and left.seeing her suffering I requested the doctor to do something and all he told the nurse was to give a pain killer around 2.30am. since then we had to wait till 5.30am for another doctor and we reached home by only 6.30 am.what i have observed was the nurses are watching their phones most of the time and the doctor is walking like a chicken and only worried about his paper work.

Boss Lady

The intake nurse literally walked around not doing her job to socialize while people were passing out... the worse hospital ever will be se ding pictures to cp24 on this behavior

Behrouz Danesh

Please please please hire more staff. You have no idea how much pressure and uncertainty and anxiety you can save from a family by simply answering your phone. Why it has to be this hard to get in contact with the nurse to ask when my poor mom (who has by the way CANCER and in an emergency situation) can do her CT scan. This is wrong. Update: I did receive a phone call after couple of hours but I had tried to reach them for hours.

Harry singh

My friend caught fire and got his hands and feet burned. He was in serious pain. He had to wait for 3 hours before getting any kind of first aid. He had to clean his wounds by himself. They made him do formalities before treating him. Nobody could go in with him due to covid. The doctor showed up for few seconds only. I don’t know if it was only in our hospital or in whole health system.

Connie Di Corpo

Brought our 15 month old son there Friday night 9pm because he had a high fever, diarrhea and vomiting. Quoting another review, nurses do seem to try their best to keep flow going but the Dr we saw at ATC green area was absolutely horrible. Checked our son's breathing and throat but didn't even check his ears. Sent us for an xray on his chest which was horrific for him and for me. For those who have had to had a baby do a chest xray, you understand. We waited 4 hours to be told he has a virus and sent us home. Meanwhile while waiting, he was talking with other staff and texting on his personal cell phone. Our son was still unwell 3 days later so we went to urgent care to find out he was a bad left ear infection and throat infection and is now on antibiotics. The Dr we saw was absolutely horrible, I would try my absolute hardest to never go to emergency at this hospital ever again.

I wish I could give this place a 0 star. That’s how fantastic this hospital is. My first experience here was 4 years ago when my mother had a heart attack. First it took her 5 hours to get a ecg, even though all the signs were of a heart attack. When they finally decided to leave one nurse came rushing to do an ecg. They rushed her into emergency surgery because she was having a heart attack. The surgery was ok but the after care by the nurses was horrific. They were yelling at her, wouldn’t clean her or help her go to the washroom. The porters were on a power trip and laughing at her. When I asked one of them what was funny. They told me they were gonna kick me out cuz I asked them questions. That horrific experience passed. I came to this hospital 2 week because I went into labour, I was being prepared for c section. The dr that did the epidural was an older Indian man. This was one of the worst epidurals I’ve ever had. I felt everything. The needle going in, coming out. For the next two weeks I could still feel the needle in my back. I can’t move my back at all from the epidural pain. During surgery they thought they forgot a tool inside me so they called for an X-ray to be done. Afterwards when I went into recovery, my first nurse told me I could go home the next day after delivery. I told her no, my baby is in NICU I don’t feel comfortable leaving before my 48 hours. I told her to check my incision, and she said she looked at it already. I told her no you didn’t and then she told me whatever. The next nurse was even worse. She was so rude to the patients. Bled my nerves because she didn’t know how to take blood and then yelled at mothers because they were in pain. Wow Brampton hospital service and nurses keep getting better. Between the nurses, the dr’s, the porters and the dirty disgusting hospital I don’t know what to complain about first. Yet, we keep coming back because it’s 5 minutes from our house! ????

Waited in emergency for more than 10 hours jus to be told by my attending physician they dont have on call gyne and cannot do anything until next day.after 10 hours gave tylenol and motrin for pain.i wish MD told me verbally to take Tylenol and motrin and go home.i dotn have to wait 2 hours extra to take those pills.it was not even busy those hours, nurses in the ATC were taking selfie. They have time for al this, upon asking any question they are rude and jus want you to wait so they can continue taking selfies.i wish i could made video.

5 year old son had dental surgery here. Excellent experience with pediatrics. Had to undergo a general and he was up less than 1 hour after surgery. The staff was more than nice, giving donated gifts and a presents (it was his birthday) Offered snacks juices and freezies after procedure. They were very accommodating. Great food and retail gift facilities on site. Nurses were extremely attentive, it felt like we were family. I have to recommend this hospital strongly.

So if you are dying still have to wait 8 to 12 hours to see a doctor, horrible service they do not care about you

Harpreet Singh

I went to this hospital in emergency because my baby was not feeling well. I waited about more than three hours with my child which was crying badly to need help but nobody in the hospital helped me and my child. At the end , we came back with no treatment . The hospital is struggling and i really felt that there is shortage of resources and doctors.

Haider Ali

If you want to feel how it is to be in a hospital of a third world country please visit the emergency room of Brampton civic Hospital. Average time to see a doctor is 5 hours. Staff is rude. 1 doctor in whole ER worst service than most undeveloped counties. How ironic that foreign qualified doctor's drive taxi cabs and hospitals have no doctor's. Your tax dollars at work.

Worst hospital I have ever seen, Incident happened infront of me, a patient was calling the nurse as blood was leaking out of the drip however, no one was there to look after him and nurse came after half an hour. If you dont love ur life and want to be more sick, go to this hospital.

Konstantin Koton

The worst hospital I have ever seen! Dirt and filth everywhere. Unprofessional and incompetent staff who have a complete lack of compassion and treat you like a sack of potatoes. Never going there again if I can help it. I went in there with a severely broken ankle, before giving me painkillers they decided to take me to x-rays... Had to wait in line for over 30 minutes to get to the X-ray room. Then the X-Ray technician decides to have a 20 minute chat with a co-worker. All the while I'm in agony. To top it off, after the x-rays I get transferred to another waiting room where I was left for over an HOUR! Every time I asked for painkillers or anything the responses were "we don't have painkillers in this section of the hospital" and then they kept on walking leaving me to wait. Total nightmare of an experience.

Jhin

Did my PFT Lung test here, went flawlessly. Staff was pretty patient, and I did my test immediately during the time I booked it at, didn't have to wait at all.

I took my mother to the ER at 1am on Labor Day. It was quite empty and I thought she’d be assessed soon. Due to a language barrier I was asked to provide my phone number. I was also asked to assist with registration and then had to leave due to covid restrictions. My mother does speak a little in English but I wanted to make sure the Dr. spoke to me. Once she was in the waiting room, my mom said she was screaming for 2hrs and no one, absolutely no one looked her away!! She said it wasn’t even busy but the nurses and Drs didn’t care to look her way; even to ask if she was alright. I called her but she said she couldn’t answer because she was in severe pain. My mom felt super exhausted with all the pain and forcefully slept through it until someone woke her up to do bloodwork. Like what if she blacked out or passed out???????? I know the ER is a stressful environment for all staff but the fact that it wasn’t busy and no one didn’t acknowledge a patient suffering in pain breaks my heart. My mom never cries and she begged me to take her to the ER. I still never got the call from the Dr and I picked my mom at 6:30am. I guess patients are numbers. They say the people who make a bigger deal get their way. I should have gone to the GP.

My experience mainly comes from the labor & delivery unit at BCH. The nurses and doctors were great. They really take the time to listen to any concerns, and answered any questions I had concerning my situation. They were alert, and made the best decisions for the health of myself and my newborn. The NICU team was simply amazing, the nurses treat the babies there so gently and are attentive to their needs. Only reason why I wouldn't rate it a 5 star is because the wait time in the early pregnancy clinic got a bit ridiculous (waited 5 hours to be seen by a doctor because they didn't have one in that department at that time.... not sure if that is always the case) but overall, the staff there were helpful so thank you BCH!

Honest Review

I would give zero stars if I could, DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT COVID, I visited the hospital because I had issues with my asthma i am high risk but didn’t think to worry cause I thought the hospital would at least be professional enough to have people with COVID away from those who don’t or at least those who are knowingly high risk. Not only did they have me near two people that had COVID the nurse that was assisting me and those people did not change her protective wear and even had me take off my mask around the people with covid so she could do the test on me. I was not aware these people had COVID until I overheard the doctor speaking to them when I expressed my concerns the doctor said “I’m around people with COVID everyday and I’m fine” I’ll also add that after these patients left they did not disinfect or close off the area where they were sitting. Nobody would ever know they were there and that it was contaminated I’m now at home feeling horrible with all the symptoms unable to get another test until next week I live with my family my father is 62 and high risk my mother and my brother are high risk as well. You go to the hospital to get better not get worse. Absolutely horrible. and this isn’t the only horrible experience I’ve had with them.

Marie V

Staff was friendly and worked quickly, however they failed to follow up with my injury. I had an MRI done & the results were sent to my family doctor who gave them to me. I waited a month for the hospital to contact me. Still no call from the hospital regarding the injury or the next steps to take for recovery so I decided to just book a follow up with my family doctor.

My father was in the palliative care department in the oncology ward. The nurses were fantastic they cared for my dying father as if he was their own. When he passed his nurse gave me a big hug and made me feel so much better. Inacio Marques spent his last days there and i couldn't think of a place he would have been better cared for. Thank you all at Brampton Civic. Roger Marques

Every nurse every doctor every volunteer at this hospital has done nothing but treat me with respect. Made me feel comfortable. And literally saved my life. I came in having a heart attack and left with cleaned arteries ,alive and well .. I'd like to thank everyone involved that took such good care of me. Special shout-out to Cody in emerge and Emebet in CCU ... You both took great care of me ..made me comfortable .. I can't thank you enough .. great hospital .. great staff .. I wish you all nothing but great success .. thank you ...

It was amazing experience with Delivery and Labour Department. Each staff was so Co Operative. Special thanks to Nurse - Kamiesha. I have never seen such a cool and calm nurse. She realized us that delivery is the most enjoyable movement. Every 5 minutes she ask any help. She gave care like my mom. Also would like to say thanks to Ms Nurse Sushila who helped us at the time of delivery. Don’t judge hospital in bad comments. My experienced was more then 5 stars.

Just came back from the Emergency Room where my uncle was hospitalized. I do not know if this is the norm, but had to do some of the nurses tasks myself. If not, service would not have arrived and my uncle was in desperate need. Nurses were there but seemed to be working in a casual tempo. Not sure if they were simply understaffed (probably...and that’s why I am not giving a 1 star)....but it felt weird doing their tasks. The nurse in charge of my uncle seemed difficult to communicate with, likely due to her slightly limited English. I sometimes had trouble understanding her myself. She may had been just doing her job, but normally you would expect something slightly more.

Last year my wife had a baby in Brampton Civic Hospital. We found the hospital like a hell. Even they did not give a bed to my wife though she had a terrible pain. The reception told us they do not have extra nurse so that we had to wait till a nurse was available. We waited for 2 hours still she did not get a bed. She was crying for 1 hour. I told the receptionist I'm gonna call 911. And then she gave her a bed. The nurses were so rude and inhuman. We have a terrible experience in the hospital. I suggest you guys if you are having baby in this hospital please better change it .

My mother had pain in chest and we took her to emergency, idk what they put in her mouth two times she has stomach pain since she came back. She is now suffering with chest pain plus stomach pain. Hospitals are supposed to treat your health and make you feel safe but it was the worst experience ever, now I’m afraid to go to hospital in future. I hope my mother get recovered soon.

Really disappointed with the staff management and nurses. My 1st child was born here. 2 nurses in the morning shift were really good. But as soon as the shift changed around 7 pm, it seemed as if the incoming nurse wanted to go on vacation. She was quite rough and it felt as if she was being forced to do her job. They moved us to a semi-private room inspite of us asking for a private room. The room's air conditioning was not working at all. When I asked the management they had no clue and gave me a stupid reply that entire building is controlled by 1 unit which can't be adjusted. Next day we were supposed to be released by 8 pm but had to wait for the doctor for 3 more hours just to hear that we have to come back 1 day later for regular weight check. Really stupid to keep us waiting for no reason. Reached home after midnight that day with my newborn. I am never going back to this hospital again unless all other hospitals in the country shutdown...lol

Everybody Has their own experience and mine were not always the best, the reason being the emotions involved when loved ones need attention. Due to the population factor, the hospital is crowded and can be stated as understaffed. But, the staff caters to patient's needs very efficiently and affectionately, even after being under tremendous work pressure. I appreciate the hard work of everyone here that makes the life possible

Syed Asad

My wife had to go to emergency at this place. The staff who did the ECG was very rude in her interaction with my wife. At the end of the procedure, she literally threw her health card towards her! Shame on her!... Is this the way these so called highly qualified medical professionals supposed to behave? Such incidents speak volumes about the culture of certain organization, in this case which is of indifference and disdain for public at large. I am pretty sure there would be others like her who are not fit for the job and are forced to work. What I want to know from the high-ups is that if a person who is emotionally instable is tasked to perform a critical procedure, can we trust the outcome? I suggest that the high-ups should arrange to get feedback form the patients.....not sure if that would be done because of apathy and inertia

I finally have the time to write this review in great detail, so brace yourselves it’s going to be long! My husband is a PD dialysis patient here at the Brampton hospital for the past 4 years, he has been coming to this hospital for all of his treatments, follow ups you name it, this hospital is the hospital that takes care of him, (the dialysis unit) so a few months ago in November 2021 he had gotten pretty ill vomiting & diarrhea non stop for 2 months and we called the dialysis clinic numerous times during these two months and they told us “he’s fine no need to bring him to the hospital” but I still continuously called them every week and heard the same thing “he’s fine, no need to bring him here we’re busy” until one day his condition worsened he could not even stand on his own anymore so I took him to the nearest hospital which for us is Milton Hospital, the doctors there told us his condition is very bad but they couldn’t provide care for him at the hospital as they did not have dialysis at that hospital which is understandable and milton hospital was working to get him transferred to either Brampton hospital or Oakville hospital, the doctors were positive Brampton hospital would accept him as he’s already a patient there but for some reason they were taking almost 2 days to get him transferred, keep in mind he’s a dialysis patient and needs his DAILY treatments until Brampton hospital eventually rejected him I was so shoscked to hear that, why did the hospital that has been caring for him all this time REJECT him… that’s ridiculous!!! He’s not some random patient or first time patients he’s been a patient at Brampton hospital for several years, I was so angered by this, eventually he ended up being transferred to Oakville hospital where he was provided care, doctors at both hospitals told us his condition was to be hospitalized and they don’t know why Brampton hospital dialysis nurses kept telling him not to come, well we ended up switching nephrologists for him and I’m glad Oakville Hospital is taking care of him now! Utterly shameful Brampton hospital

We had our first baby delivered at this hospital on Aug 21, 2021. Both me and my wife were sceptic about the services and staff especially after reading the reviews online. However, it turned out to be one of the best experiences one could have in a hospital. Right from the time my wife got admitted in labor and delivery department, the nurses were on top of their duties. We would like to thank SANDEEP, ASHLEY (the nurses who took care of us exceptionally well and supported us throughout). Also, we can’t thank DR. Persad enough for her diligence and expertise. After the delivery we were transferred to the post-partum care department, where again we were surprised by the exceptionally polite, helpful and responsive staff. In particular, we would like to thank MORGAN (the nurse which was assigned to us) for her advice, care and kindness.

Absolutelly useless doctors and staff, 7 hours wait for my 1 years old, with high fever and vomitting, only to be told to come back after 5 6 days if continues, for testing?

For the past many years, staying in the hospital, I have had a mixed feeling as the staff behave nicely but the management along with patient experience has always changed my feelings for the worse. Ij town hall meetings, my voice is supressed without getting callback or an explanation as to why they could not answer my question. If you email patient experience, you feel like they send you a cold-hearted response and feels scripted rather than the feeling that they read and fully answered my question on time. We spent $530 million dollars to get peel memorial ready, instead brampton civic is still over capacity. Instead of opening the other hospital, they found the excuse to transition (technically closing) the inpatient units without any regard as to the consequences of their actions. At times it feels like they are decieving, manipulating, lying to patients. As much as I love this city, i believe we need to restucture Brampton hospitals

Terrible Waiting to pick up my father after his injection and they won’t let me use the restroom. I guess with covid you just have to travel around with a portable toilet or some kind plastic bag. I drive two hours to bring him here every two weeks and they make the process worse. Not very helpful and completely unorganized. Our public health system is a disaster and not because of covid. It’s always been a disaster , they just now have an excuse to be rude and terrible at their jobs.

I can’t even give a rating because this is hands down the worst experience I ever went through with a hospital. My grandfather waited almost 9 hours to get checked from a doctor in EMERGENCY. Are you kidding me? A senior has to wait 9 hours for a 10 minute checkup? Your hospital is complete trash. I don’t ever post a bad review but your hospital deserves it. Imagine my grandfather was in critical condition… this hospital would be the one whose responsible for anything major happening to its patients. COMPLETE TRASH HOSPITAL. Do not even attempt to go near this place. I should’ve read the reviews before going here. The lack of effort and attention to their patients is just disgusting. Legit disgusting. They don’t even deserve a 1 star. Never coming back. No wonder the staff look miserable in this place.

mimi pia

This hospital is So Dirty the Nurses are Rude and Lazy and don't care about well being of patients. They care only for the Paycheck. The Doctor's don't know if they are coming or going. They should work as a Team like the Doctors do at the downtown hospitals. Four Brains put together as a team work much better than only one Doctors opinion. Doctors should spend more time on their patients making sure they are provided with the best medical care possible by Following up with their patients daily. keeping their patients updated with all their medical conditions..

It’s a really emergency for me. That’s y I came here My health issue was really bad, I was waiting for 6 hrs to see the Dr. I asked help from staff but they just ignored. So DO NOT SAY THIS IS AN EMERGENCY. Hospital It’s a really worst. No help at all, when I visited to this hospital it makes me more sick. Omg.i Went to hospital around 8 am came back home at 5 pm.

You're better off to CREDIT VALLEY than this hospital. I have been here several times where I was the patient or a family member was. They don't look at the patients who have severe problems. Some staff are impolite and doctors don't even explain how the problem was caused in the first place. The wait times are long and all they do is move you from a couple of places and have you wait in a different area. Sometimes they say they don't have the type of doctor or "specialist" that you need. Can't believe the community helped build this hospital by donating money. Didn’t have the right specialist so they called a fertility doctor. Doesn’t matter if you go by ambulance or walk-in, health care and attention is the same. SEE THE WORDS WILLIAM OLSER?? DON’T GO... RUN ANOTHER WAY!!

Derrick Wells

Went to hospital yesterday about 6:30 pm and was there untill 1: am. mostly waiting for ?? most dysfunctional and unreliable place I have been. My problem a continuous ungoing pain in my calf which seems to be muscle spasms that has remained since I had my vaccine April 27. After many hours of wait time in different areas I finally got a scan which was I believe for blood circulation and paid no attention to the real proplem, they did not focus on that area or check it. Except for a couple of technicians it is totally unprofessional and unorganized. They complain about being short staffed all the time?? if they were manufacturing autos it would cost about 2 million dollars for the cheapest vehicle going by customer worker ratio. They need another Mike Harris reform there. My last visit to the hospital was in the 90's and as I recall that too was a waste of time and ended up going to a specialist to solve the problem. I would only give it a half star if I could, E for effort but F for failure.

I was told that women and their partners are not being tested prior to giving birth at this hospital (possibly afterwards but my OB was not sure). I was also told that private rooms are not guaranteed, which is fine. Im having a planned c-section at this hospital and I am very disappointed that I may have to share a room with people who may be Covid positive (obviously screening with temperature taking and simply asking questions is not a true test for Covid). Why is this hospital allowing patients to share rooms with their newborn babies? I really hope my OB is wrong but also disappointed that she doesn't know the protocols at the hospital she works at. When I called L&D they said no one is required to get a test.

I had taken my 83 year old mother to a Neurology Clinic appointment on March 17th, 2021. I accompanied her into the hospital and was met by a security guard and explained what we were here for and he directed us to the next location which were the screeners. After the screening for COVID 19 we were directed to stand in a line up for the central registration. When it was our turn to register (you do your own registering and there were two employees to assist you if you need help) I asked one of the employees to clean the screen since I had just watched twenty people ahead of me all touch the same screen and it had not been wiped once. The employee was very hesitant to wipe the screen and told me she didnt have anything to dry it with. I told her I was ok with it not being dry but I needed it wiped, so reluctantly she did wipe it. Also there was no plexy glass between the two computer screens so everyone registering were in very close quarters with the person beside them using the other screen. After registering my mother was taken by a porter to her appointment. I did not see one employee wearing a shield with their surgical mask at this hospital. I am very taken back by this hospitals lack of use of PPE and not cleaning the central registration computer screen after each person uses it and lack of plexy glass between the two computer screens during this pandemic especially since Brampton is a hot zone and has been for several months.

By far the busiest emergency room in North America. If you get to see a doctor within 8 hours of waiting. Consider yourself lucky. This is no fault of the staff and doctors. This is the fault of our government. Thank you Doug Ford. I hope you never end up in emergency in any of the hospitals. My last visit I needed a CT scan cause of a concussion. I sat in the dark in a corner of a room by myself. This is how horror movies start. Look at my picture and you decide.

If there was an option to give no stars I would have definitely given them 'NO STARS' They are the most unprofessional bunch of people, I wont call them Doctors even. They have no idea about what's going on with the patients. My Mom has a surgery planned for which they admit her and then she is in the hospital waiting for surgery. They say they cant do anything we have other emergency cases which needs to be done before your mother and she is asked to fast. so every day she is fasting and they say they will do the surgery today, morning, night next day, next morning, next afternoon. Its been 4 days waiting for surgery.. they are just trying to get their bills going up. she is a visitor. They have no commitment at all, not interested in solving this Doc are rude, she said I dont have more time I have to call the next patient

I successfully booked my vaccine online and went to The Brampton Civic Hospital Auditorium. I received an email and text ahead of time informing me what I need to bring to the appointment, how to prepare for it, and directions on where to park. The staff were so kind and helpful. The appointment was quick and easy, with clear instructions given by staff every step of the way. I was so nervous going into this appointment. The nurse was an angel. She calmed me right down. I appreciated the patience and kindness of all the staff. I even got a print out and an email of exactly what type of vaccine I received, the dosage and batch information. All communication was transparent. My parking was validated. What a wonderful, seamless experience. Their system is so well organized, efficient and client centred. I was really impressed.

My husband was here for a major surgery this past Monday, I am always amazed and thankful for the doctors and nurses and other staff/ volunteers who care for the patients. He has been here a few times since 2011, and the level of care and service is always outstanding. We are grateful.

Worst Staff Experience Ever. Are you guys serious, 5 Hours for Blood work and Report?? Where on this Earth should it take 5 Hours for blood work and seeing the Doctor?? Where is the efficiency?? Pls bring in more Doctors and staff if required and pls not have patients wonder around outside for hours and hours. My Wife Pregnant required a blood work to be done from the Hospital as recommended by our family Dr. The test was to be done from Hospital as outside testing facilities were not able to do so as required by our Dr. My wife went in today at 12 noon and still not out yet from the hospital. A Highly Poor Management.

Rahith Kaiyum

Easily one of the worst hospitals in the province. Nurses have little respect for their jobs and patients and their families. Will hang up on you when asked for explanations for delays, concerns, or patient conditions. Can’t be bothered to do their jobs.

From my experience the best hospital in GTE did replaced knee from parking try surgery end out al the best thanks to all i cenot stand thos pople who give two stars only?

I don’t know who their cook is but he certionally needs a promotion to the customer level to see non edible bread hes been making Most of the nurses are fine but few are so rude they actually make you feel bad when you are sick and need support

My wife has severe PTSD and was put in psych ward along side criminals while being triggered and throated closing while all staff ignored her plees for help. I will never return here for medical assistance will travel anywhere else. Dr are cold with no compassion or empathy l would not brimg an animal there let alone a loved one. Stay away from brampton civic hospital at all costs

I went to this hospital due to the walk in clinics refusing service as they don’t offer walk in anymore. I really did not want to go to the hospital but I was out of options. Based of family members and friends, I knew this hospital was bad so I didn’t have my expectations set high. The minute I was wheeled in by a wheel chair the staff was immediately rude and showed no compassion to the fact that I was in extreme pain and crying. When my mom asked how long it would roughly be, there no answer. Once I finally got to speak with a nurse, she did not have a recommendation and asked if I would like medication or to speak with a doctor. When I was having a hard time breathing and barely told her “I’m not sure whatever you think” ... she responded with “I can’t tell you anything you need to decide” I would assume as a nurse that works for the hospital, you should be able to show some sort of expertise or recommendation as you have a patient in front of you in extreme pain and having a hard time breathing. When I finally was in the ATC waiting room so I can speak to the doctor, a nurse came in. He called out for a name and then requested the patient showed him her name tag due to the fact and I quote “I see too many Indian woman here I need to see your name tag”. Completely uncalled for and unnecessary comment especially coming from a Caucasian nurse. The service took extremely long and as explained I was in extreme pain, crying and I was barely attended too. However, while waiting I could hear all the employees plans of when their day off is, what they will be drinking, who purchased $1000 glasses, etc. Super unprofessional and for an urgent care centre, you are better dead than visiting this place. If I could rate this place a zero, I would do it in a heartbeat.

Monica Springer

Have been to Emergency on two occasions in the last 6 months with two elderly friends. Must say from my experiences with the nursing care, it would appear that nurses and admitting staff in Emergency are no longer able to show the empathy and caring that patients need in what the patient believes is a crisis situation in their life. Along with that lack of empathy, they also seemed not wanting to do their job. One nurse got mad at me because I told her I was not undressing the patient as she wanted me to. This person was my friend. I have never seen her without clothing. Even the housekeeping person was very annoyed because she had to come twice to clean up the room when the patient had an accident and in a rude voice told me I should get her in a diaper. Guess the nurses are setting the example. I have had experiences on the wards where there is a greater sense of caring for the patients. I do not know if the nurses in Emergency feel they are over worked or what is the issue. The problems I and others have experienced - as is evident in the report in the Guardian new paper on Feb. 20, 2020 - should be investigated and action taken by Dr. Naveed Mohammad to address them. This reflects very poorly on Brampton, a great city in every other way.

This hospital staff lacks compassion and sympathy. My wife never wish to go after having labor and maternity in this hospital. We ran out once we were discharged. All ladies looking for child birth it is better opt any other hospital.

Meenu A

Horrible experience in the ER. The nurses are rude and the doctor rushed through the examination. Ended up going to another ER .

Janice Leon

I would like to thank the reception when I called and asked questions that may have been obvious Q & A. Great at listening and handling my call. I would also like to thank Sab, head nurse (spelling?) from the ICU who was extremely helpful with information while I was feeling panicked. I would also like to thank Dr. Hayani who called me the other night at 1:10 am to explain what was happening with my son. Today I called and ordered a gift from the gift shop to find the staff member Stephanie to be incredible. She went above and beyond to help with a gift and delivered it to the ICU. Thank you Stephanie! I truly appreciate your service.

Sacha Payne

Rude staff, unprofessional and unorganized. I was told to come back to get my stitches removed after my surgery and when I got there they told me I had to go to the other hospital we do not have a fracture clinic here. Why was I not told when the appointment was made that it would not be back at the same hospital. Don't even get me started on the other hospital. No wheelchairs accessible had me standing around for 10 minutes on my knee that I just had surgery on while they ran around like chickens with their heads cut off, then to give me a random wheelchair for outside somewhere.

Mariella Mariella

Where should I begin????It is not so much the hospital but the people who go to the hospital who hold up the true sick who really need help. This hospital has amazing doctors and staff, minus the emergency registration nurse who lacks manners, is rude and condescending and tries to speak Philippine to me, when I of course do not speak her language. The reason I gave it three stars is because of the waits. The waits regardless of the time are so long and that is not by any fault of the people who work there, but the residents of Brampton who go to emergency for every little ailment. Fake heart attacks, fake strokes, bumped their head, kid fell down and scraped his knee and oh my favourite throwing up which left a sour taste in one's mouth while I sat there profusely bleeding! Oh and I almost forgot the woman who came in on a stretcher, thought she was having a heart attack (Yup you guessed it, fake) and ordered Uber Eats. I wish there was a way that this hospital could find a way to screen these hypochondriac because this would save really sick patients a lot of time. Oh and to the girl who was there on Monday morning with her fake heart attack. You are 20, you sat there texting and talking to your boyfriend the whole time in emergency without a sign of heart attack. You were not having a heart attack, dah, you just wanted to a poor you from your man and while doing so held up many sick patients.

Note; Mention of Labour and Delivery Nurse Camille and Dr. Ramadan El Sugy This is the readers digest of my horror story Google should allow for the option of no stars AT ALL! This is by far one of the worse hospital I have ever been to. At the time I was pregnant and experiencing from sharp pains that were going on for about a day and half. I was 30 weeks pregnant. I didn't think much of it and decided to go into the hospital because I live two minutes away. (My hospital chosen for birth was not here after all the horror stories I heard my family went through). I got to the hospital and the security downstairs let myself and partner up to the labour and delivery ward. I had recently tested positive for covid but had no symptoms and cleared by peel health a few days earlier. The NURSE BY THE NAME CAMILLE (Asian decent or Filipino) was so rude and shun me. Locked me in a room and did not check on me. She attacked me in the hall and my partner for an hour and when she came in to do blood work attacked me verbally again. CAMILLE in my opinion needs to be reported for lack of training in dealing with people especially pregnant people. Then the doctor comes in and that's when all hell broke loose! Dr. Ramadan El Sugy tried and forced labor. As he was checking my cervix he intentionally went way to far causing excessive bleeding. (After being moved to a different hospital) I now know he was trying to break my water and induce labor! He then left me in the room for many more hours sending in his nurses to try and have me take various medications for induction which I refused. Thankfully I was transferred to Mt. Sinai and was cared properly for and had my baby Weeks later at 39 weeks.

Thank goodness for the kind paramedics that took me to the hospital on Sunday night. They expedited the process and got me registered. The 1 star is for the nurse at the registration desk who was really nice and helpful and for the person who did my XRAY. Beyond that, it was a big mess. I was left on the stretcher for hours and after 3-3.5 hours when the hall was empty they said ok we're still waiting for an empty bed. The nurse who transferred me from the hall to the XRAY room kept hitting the edge of the stretcher in random places. By all means I do understand it's hard and those are not easy to maneuver but they need to realize the person ON the stretcher will experience pain. The person who did my X-ray was great and said once they see your results, I'll see you for an x-ray again (which they did not send me for). Eventually when the doctor showed up, I saw him for MAYBE 1.5 minutes. I had to ask him for a pain injection or pain medication. He said ok I will tell them to get you the injection. Half hour later I hear the nurse yelling my name in the hallway. Luckily my brother was with me as I was unable to get up from the stretcher and he went into the hall to get her. She' was so rude and says WHERE IS SHE? He said she has been waiting in the room and all she says is well how am I supposed to know? That is HER JOB!! They should communicate with each other better about who is in the room. When she finally came she started to give me my crutches and splint and was telling me to be on my way. I told her I'm waiting for an injection, she said no doctor didn't write that. I said well I need one and he said ok. She says ok let me go talk to him, 20 minutes later she said ok he said no injection just tylenol 3. She had NO idea how to help me adjust the crutches. Between her and another woman they had no idea what they were doing. Instead she's arguing with me about my height. Thank goodness for a kind gentleman in the hallway who worked there and brought me a wheelchair to go out with. After a very long night when I finally got the medicine I found out that it is NOT tylenol 3, but instead it was extra strength Naproxen. I had specifically written that I already take that. So I am not quite sure why he prescribed the same after telling me something else. I will add that this is not my first experience going to the ER in a hospital and that night was not as busy as some nights are. The way they seem to "organize" things needs to re-evaluated and they should consider spending a few more seconds with their patients to ensure they are providing proper treatment. This was my 2nd negative experience there. The first time was when I took my father after a car accident a few years ago and they also left him in the hallway like many others and insisted he took his shirt off in the hall so they could complete his ECG. I'm not sure why there is such a horrible lack of funding but their negligence and lack of resources make it feel like it is a 3rd world country hospital.

William Osler as an organization touts using family-centered and patient-centered care principles, but are hypocrites in the actual application of that in practice. While the care for my family member from the actual nurses and doctors has been fine (but how am I to really know) , the rules that managers and policy makers have put in place do not make sense. Further, social workers that clearly do not understand the backgrounds of patients and the needs of their families, is pointless. You can point out the financial difficulties and implications to these people, but they don't understand. They are heartless. The way in which they speak to family members is degrading and heartless as well. What impact or difference is there to contact tracing or exposure to the unit/hospital, if those living in the same household visit a family member. Especially, if you are an active care giver to that person. The fact that you cannot even discuss a compromise, or an accommodation in a fair way, is negligent. What's the point of holistic care? None of that. Further, how does it make sense when the community that is serviceable to this hospital is permitted large gatherings, indoor and outdoor get togethers, that a visitor policy of just two people (not at all interchangeable) once a day is acceptable? When meanwhile, you have your own staff talking about vaccine conspiracies and mask conspiracies in earshot of family members?

Brampton Civic Hospital is Horrible, Worst, Disgusting Hospital not even in Canada but It is one of the worst in the world. It is because of number of reasons. Emergency Wait Time, Availability of Seperate beds and rooms, Rude staff, Complaint department is just for name sake and does noting total time waste, Unreliable Docters and Nurses, No one there after 4 pm to give any information except Emergency rude staff, One of the heart surgeon was laughing when giving death information to one of the patient I know. Nurses and staff are like bouncers who even tie patients even when they are given medicine to sleep. They have lack of Docters, sometimes in a night time there is only one docter in whole department. If the docter in labour and delivery dept is busy in C-Section operation then other mothers and their unborn childs are on the mercy of god to be born and the surprising thing is nurses and staff still laugh on you even you are in trouble and need a docter but the docter is not available. How can staff laugh on their patients? They even dont scare from God, that one day they will on the same bed too on the mercy of same staff in Civic Hospital. I do not understand, if the Ontario Govt cannot run this properly , why are they running it? Get it private. Let people pay but atleast everyone will get the proper treatment. Docters, surgeons, receptions, nurses, cleaners all who ever works in this hospital are all rude, unethical, unprofessional . I can write all day about this hospital and can give countless reasons why this is worst hosp on earth. But whoever loves themselves and their known people, please think 10 times before you go there. There are better chances of survival if you go somewhere else rather than going to Brampton Civic Hospital. Please REFRAIN from this Hospital. One more thing, Most of the The positive reviews that you see for this hospital are the one from their own management or staff. So dont believe and rely on those. See how many people have -ive reviews and use your own due-deligence. Ignore the name and pictures that you see in this hospital it is just for political reasons so people feel safe but thats not the case.

Nurses are rude and complaining of being short staffed. Seems like there are short of doctors on staff too because I was checked out by a student Dr who informed me that she was just seeing me first. The other Dr never came and the meds she prescribed for pain was given to me 3 hrs later. I felt as if I was going to pass out and no one cares. I had to stay in the chair and faint if I don't feel well. I just asked them to remove the needle from my hand and I left. Was better off suffering at home. That's really not the hospital to go to for help ????

Worst experience ever, my wife was in labor and when we went to labor and delivery department, we were made to wait in waiting area for 3 hours as there was no beds available. She was having sharp contractions and was extremely difficult for her to either sit or stand. Even after requesting multiple times, she was left to cry in the waiting area without any checkup. After her initial checkup, she was ready to go in delivery department, but again no room was available, and she was again asked to wait in waiting area. The nurses in delivery room was very nice and well qualified, i am giving one star just for them. The postpartum experience was bad, our newborn baby wasn't taking breastmilk, we were told to keep on trying instead of bottle. Even after notifying every hour, the baby was left without milk for more than 8 hours, and we were told its normal for the new born babies, when the next shift nurse found out, she got mad at us that we didn't feed the baby, when we were told something else by the previous nurse. Same night my wife discharged more than normal blood and felt a lot of pain and our baby wasn't feeling well as well, we called the nurse, our assigned nurse was on break, and the other nurse showed up, she was extremely rude and unprofessional. When we told her about the situation, her exact words were, " so, what am i supposed to do ", and left the room without checking my wife or the baby. We were made to wait again for our nurse to come back. We were discharged out of hospital with very little instructions to how to take care of new born baby and the mother and no prescription for mother. Visiting this hospital was a mistake and won't be repeated.

Worst hospital ever. My husband sliced his hand open and bleeding for over two hours even with pressure applied and the nurse told him to go sit down. Honestly very shocking and they weren't even busy. He started to feel weak and went to the nurse again for the constant bleed and even showed her the blood soaked bandage which was actively bleeding. She said go wait, nice empathetic caring nurse lol what a joke

Literally the real life St. Elsewhere. Overcrowded and underfunded, it seems like everyone working there is completely miserable and frustrated all the time and they always act so annoyed, especially those nurses, they need a chill pill. They are always in a rush and get upset when you ask them anything. Of course not everyone there is awful, there are a handful of individuals who are kind but as a whole I have had a bad experience with most of them. Even worse than the actual employees there are the other people waiting in line, they're completely inconsiderate and annoying: one guy was screaming on his cell phone in a foreign language while I was there. There seems to be a lack of rooms and space and there are patients in the hallways, there is little privacy or dignity at all. The day I was recently there I saw a doctor telling off one of the nurses, it was so unprofessional and rude. And then the doctor began talking down to me like I was a child and was so arrogant that I wanted to just leave. I didn't expect anything better from Brampton, the hospital is just a reflection of the city anyway. total decline. The best way to describe this place would be "Tired and Angry." Just go to another hospital please, any hospital.

Tyler L

If I could give zero or negative stars, I would. DO NOT go here. Go to a hospital with more than one doctor in the entire building. My wife is having a baby. She laid in AGONY for two hours waiting to see a doctor, get a pain medication, anything…but he was busy with something else. If you don’t have the staff take care of TWO PEOPLE AT THE SAME TIME, you don’t deserve to be called a hospital.

Paul Oji

Just a terrible hospital. If any of you have problem with staff I recommend filing with the cno or college of physicians!

Olivia W

Where is the option for ZERO?!?! THE DOCTORS AND NURSES in this hospital are a disgrace to the medical community. They should all get som training in human compassion. Avoid at all costs. If your loved one passes here no one is going to care for them nor show any empathy. This is nothing but a slaughter house for OHIP patients. If you're sick go anywhere but this hospital.

efia asa

Wasn’t great and some of the nurses are very rude and unprofessional. My husband was there for extremely bad rib pain and it took them 3hrs to give him pain killer. The doctor (he) after 5 hours thought it was a good idea to tell him what was wrong loudly by the nursing station without any regards for his privacy. He had to have another CTscan while we were there and he needed his IV port flushed after and when the nurse was told to do it, she just cut us off and told him to go sit down in the waiting room and didn’t bother doing it. So hours later before we left I asked again if they were going to flush that port before taking it out, that’s when one nice nurse offered to do it for him. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE !!!!WILLIAM OSLER HOSPITAL SHOULD STRIVE TO DO BETTER WHEN IT COMES TO BEDSIDE MANNERS WITH PATIENTS.

Just finished baby delivery here. Can't say enough good things and don't understand why there are so many bad reviews. Everything was amazing. Dedicated doctors and nurses who had been always support us on time no matter day or night. As the first time parents, we were worried a lot but William Osler hospital gave us all essential things. We would like to thank labour and delivery team, especially nurse Nav who superior gentle and experienced. . I think all parents and other patients should be worry free and trust on this hospital.

I was in the ICU for one week and I wanted to write this review to show my appreciation for saving my life. From the very first minute till the last day I was there I was treated with respect and pushed to get better. Some of memorable nurses were Becky Juan and I’m sorry that I forgot the others name who were just as amazing. You guys saved my life and kept me alive. You helped me managed my breathing, manage the side effects of covid and kept me insane while I was there. Thank you truly from the bottom of my heart for everything and you guys are the real hero’s. Also thanks to the doctors and the ambulance drivers and firemen that helped me through this too! I wish you all stay safe and strong in these hard times.

I am reviewing for my 92 year old mother in law. She tells me her experience with the day surgery from Dr. H. Bedi, was the best care she has ever received from any hospital. The recovery team were exemplary, therefore she feels the deserve the five star review.

annu mudhoo

worst health care services people goes to ER because someone is really sick and need immediate care but here you wait for 7-8 hours to get a treatment you spent the whole night sitting and waiting for care....

While I have no complaints for the doctor's at Brampton civic hospital, the staff and nurses have no etiquette or manners when dealing with sick and worried people. My 14 year old sister was having excruciating stomach pain and was puking so my mother took her to Brampton civic hospital at 12:30 am and by 3 am she was finally in a waiting room. The doctor passed over my sister's room so my mother went to ask the staff as to when the doctor would see her and she was very rudely answered and told to sit and wait. I understand staff and nurses do not have control over doctors but being patient with patients and helping them should be the staffs priority. These two ladies (an Asian and a blonde) were sitting at the counter gossiping back and forth and anytime my mother went to ask them ( she only asked twice) they seemed as if they couldn't be bothered and told my mom she was over reacting cause my sister was puking. No nurse or staff member tried comforting my sister or offering gravol. They ended waiting untill 4 am and then had enough and decided to come home. This is truly a disgusting experience and I hope no one else has to go through it. The wait time is not the issue but the atittude of staff members definately is. Anyone thinking of coming here please try the Georgetown hospital or any other hospital.

James, I think my mom had a heart attack this evening. I rushed her to the William osler hospital in Brampton. I really thought she was going to die in my arms. The staff there were very inconsiderate and told us she was fine even though she could not move, walk or act like a normal person. They told me that they have other patients and we should leave!!! I called my brother and asked him to join us, as this is serious. He arrived, I had to leave because my family needs me too. They refused to help us! My mom had extremely sharp pain in her heart, very irregular heart beat, difficulty breathing, and she had numbness in her arms, and face but they still told us to leave and wait in the waiting area. Until now they have not examined her, even with a letter from her physician. I am very upset and don’t know what will happen next. I am not sure if I may or may not make it to work.

Under qualified and unprofessional. Registration staff usually the face of hospital. Simply put, face is ugly. They answer questions with sarcasm. Ref: Registration desk number 5. Female 40s Caucasian

It's sad to say that this hospital embarrasses Brampton. As one of the biggest hospitals in Brampton I can surely say we wasted quite a bit of money here. The nurses are not trained neather in care giving or in treatment not to add they are rude, poorly mannered and arrogant. Especially a nurse name Martha she works in the ACT area. This nurse was extremely rude and really made my visit a disaster. I first thought it was just me but she was treating a number of people rudely, throwing people papers with an attitude and just hard to deal with it's sad that we go to the hospital to feel better and after receiving service like this it encourages us not to bother going. I feel like nurse or doctors like this should have chosen a different profession if they cant learn to deal with people. Inside of the hospital they have signs that state not to talk to the staff rudely so it shows that a lot of people are having a problem with the service they receive there. Instead of signs protecting these inadequate employees why not train the staff so that people don't have to feel like we need to voice about complains about their behaviour. At this point reading a number of reviews that are 1 star wishing we could put 0 stars I would expect the government to step in and analyze the operational and management of this hospital. The government needs to step in now before more people are unfairly treated and misdiagnosed. I waited 8 hours to get a CT scan and get given ear drops that didn't address my present problem I was complaining about. 8 hours of my life wasted I wish I just stayed home instead of wasting my time at such a poorly run institution.

The worst ER. Nurses are chatting leisurely about their vacation plans while patients are waiting for treatment. Most of the nurses (and some doctors too) do not introduce themselves. Their ID badges , either missing or turned other side. My 6 yr old son's blood was taken for some investigations and 2 hours later when the doctor was looking for the results they discovered the sample was missing. The lab was saying they never received it. My son was in pain and dehydrated , so the doctor orderd IV fluids. It took nearly another 3 hours for them to put an IV and start fluids.A lot more happened but I dont want to elaborate on them. In general most of the nurses ( except for one or two) had no compassion at all. They were just completing their 12 hour shift! When I was reading the other reviews, I realized that this experience was not uncommon. I don't know whether there is anything called "management" in this hospital, but if there is please take an action to change the situation in the ER. Please do not treat the sick , especially the kids this way.It is a disgrace not only to the hospital but to the humanity as well.

Rajveer Thind

Worst hospital ever. Doctor and staff doesn't care about the patients at all.

I wish to give a 0 if possible , the emergency doctor and staff are really very careless we happen to take our 7 month old infant for brain bubble without doing any analysis or checks doctor told there is nothing it’s normal being parents we were concerned we spent 6 hours from 3am to 10am later we went to our family doctor as we were concerned they suggested sick kids hospital one of the best doctors and team they know what they are doing finally after couple of exams we came to know it’s linear fracture in skull. Hospitals are same the team and doctor matters they should understand why people come for emergency walk in treating them well should be the first priority.

Heidi Schneider

grandfather in law was taken to emerg with pain in his groin area and swelling in his leg. He was there all day. No food or water given and they couldn't figure out what was wrong and sent him home. They didn't even give him anything for the pain. Whats worse is this is the second time something like this has happened. I had to go in for extra ultrasounds a month go to check on baby's health and was told I need to wait and see a doctor and the whole day passed and I was finally told the doctor wouldn't be seeing me. This is after I had inquire with a nurse and the ward clerk a couple of times, both who were very rude to me. Avoid this hospital if you can.

Shaheer Umer

Doctors and nurses take way too long to care for you, if you have a serious emergency you’re probably better off someplace else (unless all hospitals are this trash). The blood test alone was supposed to take 30 minutes and we ended up waiting 3 hours. Finally finished, it only took nearly 9 hours! Amazing!!

aakriti aakriti

I have always experienced the staff to be quick, knowledgeable and polite. I was on the table getting scanned and then out the door within 20 minutes of arriving. MRI scan takes 10 mins. Thank you very much William Osler for always doing your best!

Jo-Anne Parry

Shocking relatively short visit. Only 2 hours from Emergency to Doctor consul. and done!

DEMIKA WHITELOCK

if i can give no stars i would, i was there yesterday arrivedat 4:48:pm didnt get to register until 10 pm ish or a little bit later didnt see a docotor until 11:05pm. i asked the nurse why is this taking so long to get seen when i was waiting to be registered she said well your case is not urgentand the wait time is long. EXCUSE ME!!!! I SAID im pregnate, i havent been feeling well ( dizziness, fainting, nasuea, cramps, shaking and blurred vision) she said well still early pregnancy so were just maintaing were not going to treat it as urgent.. i felt disgusted and dehumanized. as a life is a life despite how early or late the pregnany is. truly disgusting behavior

Prabh Kaur

Worst healthcare ever. First of all the nurse at the front was dumb. I told her just one reason why i came there and that was vomiting and she said check for the questionnaire and if I already told you i have vomiting i would obviously answer the other questions written there and when i said no to every other question, she said you just told me you have vomiting like if I already told you my chief complaint why will i repeat it again and again. Then they made me wait and i was there since 11pm and at 4am they told me it could take 2 more hours or even more. Like seriously 6-7hrs for just meeting a doctor. Moreover the nurses were busy talking around and they didn’t even care about the patients. One more thing i saw them sending the people they know earlier. A lady literally came and was sent to meet the doctor and we were just sitting there. The nurses were saying we are short staffed and i understand but it’s called EMERGENCY for a reason and they need to understand the meaning of the word EMERGENCY.

Employees r doing lunch in groups, they no care that they spread co 19 ,in Tim only 2 persons allowed on table.but I see 3 person share table and lot of tables r empty .those r Employees of hospital.

Horrible hospital with the most unhelpful emergency room, I would never recommend any loved one to seek treatment at this hospital, they're more likely to dismiss you than help you with any medical problems, worst staff, and terrible training. My father sat in the emergency room for 5 hours only to be misdiagnosed and sent home with the wrong prescriptions/pills and we were told "you do not need to speak to any doctor, his condition is not serious just take the medicine and he should be good in 4-5 days" Well his condition not only worsened over the next 4 days but we had to rush him to another hospital where he was properly checked out and diagnosed for the correct issue. His condition was so bad due to the prescription that Civic had given him that he later ended up being admitted into a third hospital and was in the ICU on life support within a week. He very sadly lost his life and is no longer with us. As his family we have been trying to get ahold of his medical records from that day in the emergency room to better understand what type of test or lack of testing this hospital did, but our phone calls and emails have yet to be answered. This hospital does not care about the lives of its patients and is over busy and over worked. Staff and doctors are heartless and absolutely unhelpful, and taking your loved on to their emergency room is a BIG MISTAKE. You have ruined not only our family's lives but without a doubt many innocent lives, you should be ashamed to call yourself a place where people come for medical help and trust you with their lives. This hospital should be shutdown.

Marcy Hatt

Please do not take anyone to this place!! My father has cancer and they kept him in that hospital from 8:36am and it is 4:36 pm now and still saying 3 hours min. He can’t walk or hardly talk. They do not care that he has not eaten all day. Please take your love ones somewhere else. Save the heart ache. Not worth it.
