Does your covid test valid for Travelling to USA? How long takes have the results?

Good experience. Got my appointment with a specialist 3 month after emailing the reference from my family doctor. Staff was nice and helpful, doctor was attentive. They take care of you well and you get your new appointments and exams fast, once you are in the “system” with your medical history; so typical for Canada. My only complain is about navigation in the hospital. The underground parking is a MAZE. You spend 20 minutes (out from your 30 charge free minutes) just trying to get on another level and then get stuck in the dead loop of “Exit->” signs.

Sarah Bahrami

Most of the staff over there are not responsible!! When I was sitting in the emergency room to see a doctor, I could hear and see that they were telling stories and laughing behind the partitions not to say that one of them was buying shoes online, while there were lots of people sitting in the waiting room! I've been waiting for 12 and half hours and guess what! the doctor even had not checked my test results properly!!!! It's just awful!!

James Dutton

Great, Adult ER triage system works really well, Spent 5.5 hours there but with tests done etc before you see the doctor helped break up the time. Doctors and nurses were great. Good experience

(Translated) My children were born in this hospital where I do not want to go back since I was recently hospitalized. I NEVER met the doctor who admitted me during my 8 days of hospitalization. I was followed by residents who did not speak enough French and sometimes spoke in an approximate English. Their daily visit lasted 120 seconds. The know-how: ZERO! The information we receive about our condition is minimal and we never have sufficient information to answer our questions. I express myself spontaneously in English. But this is too much when, in a health facility, English predominates and doctors can not communicate. And for other reasons too, I did not feel safe. Finally, I left the Royal Vic (with documents completed in English) almost to the same point as when the LaSalle Hospital had transferred me there. McGill has a long tradition of educating foreign students in graduate studies. When it comes to health, a little dosage is required.

(Translated) 6 hours of waiting for a blood test + 6 hours of waiting to see a doctor. It's been 12 hours of waiting and still no results. We are in Quebec, is it normal to spend 12 hours in a waiting room without seeing a doctor? A word of advice if you have an emergency go elsewhere or in the private sector but do not come here you will just wait for your health to deteriorate. It is shameful !!! The ICU had some wonderful doctors. There were some nurses with such compassion as Jim, William, Graham and Anne. Some names I forget but they know who they are. The ones with compassion gave us hope. Dr, Shahin was amazing and had expertise as well as agentle heart. The 7th floor became a home. Though we didn't want it to be, it e,led to feel like that. Nurses Christine, Sonia were so good with my dad and he cared for them I could tell. The doctors from Dr. Shahin's team were very cold however. They did not listen to what we felt and seemed annoyed with our concerns. We only wish they would have put the peg in sooner. The Geriatric team understood that necessity and were so wonderful with my dad and our family, . In our loss, it was the Geriatric team and Toni hsaved us when we fell apart. We are grateful to them. My dad's passing on May 14, 2016 was made to be so peaceful because of Sonia dad's nurse. With much appreciation to all of you at The Royal Vic. Sandy Nicholson (Jim Nicholson's daughter)

More than 8hs waiting in the emergency room and I’m still waiting. No one in the waiting room was called by a doctor from 11 to 16, and after that, it seems that they are calling from only 2 rooms at an awfully low pace. With all that delay, the amount of people increased exponentially and now I’ll have to wait even more time because of people that seems to be in a worse condition arrived now... Terrible service.

You will have to wait 10+ hours and get to see a doctor for 5-10 minutes. It'll be more efficient to drive to Ontario to see a doctor if you don't want to waste your time and not get properly treated. You can clearly observe/experience the effect of budget cut on the quality of public health care at this hospital (or just poor management in general). This hospital makes a perfect example of how taxpayers' money does not reflect on the health care we deserve. Expect depersonalization and helplessness during your visit. Stay strong and good luck

At the ER, waiting for 9+ hours and counting. The place isn’t what you can call visibly busy, very quiet and there’s not many people, still no way of seeing the end of it. Probably on the non-urgent list with no broken bones or things like that, but on the contrary cannot wait for days to see a doctor, the matter needs urgent check-up. Very disappointed, next time will go elsewhere even if this is the closest ER for me.

**UPDATE** February 24 (next day) I went to a clinic and they asked me why I didn’t went to the emergency in the first place... ???? **** February 23rd When I arrived at the emergency, the printing-numbers-computer for the pre-triage wasn’t working. We were in line for an hour to get it to finally work. The nurse in charge of the pre-triage start taking patients randomly without verifying who arrive first. Once my turn finally arrived, the nurse ask me the reason I came and I explained her that I have been in 3 hospital in Vietnam in the last 5 weeks for a very bad infected wound from a motorbike accident. SHE DIDN’T ASK ANY QUESTIONS AND DIDN’T EVEN LOOK AT MY WOUND. She just told me it was a busy day and I wasn’t priority. SHE SENT ME HOME. Doctors in Vietnam told me it was critical since it was resistant to all antibiotics I took and they insist that I need to get hospitalized. But I wanted to wait a few days so I would be back in Canada and (hopefully) get proper care. So disappointing. ➡️➡️ At least have a look, ask questions, and get informed before telling your patients to go home. ⬅️⬅️

(Translated) Yesterday I had to take my 90-year-old father to the emergency room at the Royal Victoria Hospital. He was served extremely well. If I could I would put 6 stars in the rating. I had concerns with all the negative reviews on this website that I read before going. Well no. In fact, I would like to say a huge thank you to the emergency team, security guards included :). A special thank you to Dolores at the yard, she was reassuring, hyper-competent, kind and empathetic to boot. Misleading or missing signs, takes forever to find your way. The wording on the machine to take a number for blood tests is confusing; took the wrong number then after waiting for 30 minuets was asked to take another number and wait again! 2:30 hours and still waiting my turn for blood tests no idea how long I have to wait more! And automatic door for bathroom is broken, I see people with disabilities struggling to open the door! This is by far the worst hospital experience I’ve had in Montreal! Is there any sort of management that oversees this mess?

I spent six days in the MUHC in 2016. The first two in the ICU. Then I was moved to my own room (pictures allude to it). The flat screen TV was $10.00/day. Only two patients paid for the tv, on the wing I was in. The doctors and nurses were personable yet, professional. The nurses were understaffed. The room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom/shower was great. There's a menu for the patients to order all their meals from. The food was way better than I expected. I will add that it was strange to wander through the lower floor of the hospital. Compared to where I was, it reminded me of a shopping mall. Over all great service.

My father was rushed to Royal Victoria hospital for emergency open heart surgery. We were lucky to get surgeon Dr. Tchervenkov and 2 other amazing surgeons who operated on my father for 8 hours. They made the decision to leave his chest open, which is risky and operated on him again the following day. They made the right decision and it's a miracle my dad is here with us and going home just after 10 days in the hospital. The nurses in the ICU were friendly, knowledgeable and committed to getting my dad better. They did not miss anything! Post-op Nurses were great and even house keeping gave us some laughs along the way. My family and I are truly grateful for the doctors and nurses support and patience. To the amazing doctors to amazing nurses, a huge THANK YOU! There are no words but lots of love for your team at the hospital. You truly made our experience at the hospital more stress less while keeping us at ease. THANK YOU AND KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK! xoxo

I was told by my dentist to go to the hospital as soon as possible because of an abscess and spread of infection (my face is extremely swollen) and I was laughed at by the triage nurse for Coming to the emergency for this issue . even though it was recommended by my doctor and dentist due to my complex health issues I deal with as-well as to this complex issue. Not only that but I was told my partner could not attend the wait with me even though I cannot push myself in a wheelchair and they are fully vaccinated yet almost everyone else in the waiting room had someone with them. While I tried to wait I passed out twice in the 3 hours and no one helped me. I no longer felt safe there.

Bander Kutbi

Adult ER is horrible. Mother had to wait 7 hours only to be told we have more than 5 hours left before the Dr. can see her (junior ER resident). Yay! We left to somewhere else. Parking is extremely expensive.

Was hospitalized there for 2-3 months in August, and again just last week....the staff is very nice,caring,kind.....so many people complain about the ER being full, but I've been in and out of hospitals since I was a child, and I can tell you this is normal,unfortunately....they need to hire more nurses and P.A.B's everywhere.

June 7, 2020, I arrived to the emergency room at 2am with heavy bleeding, and terrible pain low abdominal, 9 weeks pregnant. I am seating here for 2 hours already and haven't heard from a doctor. 2 days before already went through this situation and came back now because the bleeding became more severe along with very strong pain. Was given Tylenol to relieve the pain. At 4:14am I went again to the washroom and the blood was pouring and a big chunk of bloody ball came out. I went to notify the nurse about this and she said you with bleeding were here a few days ago, I explained her about what just happened and she said soon I'll be seen. It's 5:31am - still haven't seen by doctor. It's 6:30am - same situation, still waiting At 6:45am I was left the one and only from this horrible night shift. The worst is that there was only 7 to 10 people waiting, the line didn't move, no new patients coming... I have the impression that there was only 1 doctor in the whole entire hospital... . The next new patient came in at 6:39am, early in the morning when I am still waiting to see a doctor. All I want to know now is if I am still pregnant if I still have my baby in me. It's past 10am, I was called... - miscarriage, baby is no longer there... I feel terrible.. prioritization of patients was very wrong and very painful... I lost my baby at 4:14am half lying on a chair writhing in pain waiting ..

Some nurses at the ICU are really tough showing no empathy to patients or families. One nurse took the food tray out of my hands when I tried to feed my Mom as usual!! Another nurse keeps chatting all the night on her cellphone, (while this is restricted in restaurants), imagine at the ICU!!!! To be fair enough, some nurses are really good, but If I have to go to a hospital one day, it will be the Jewish for sure!!

I just called to try to make an appointment for my mother for her thyroid problem. Her doctor gave me an paper with the recommended doctor to see at this hospital. But his written style make it hard to properly read his family name. Once I reached the receptionist (who didn't gave her name), she simply said there is no such doctor with that family name and she asked me for what problem, I said it for her thyroid. She simply hang up the phone without trying to help more.

Honestly, having dealt with a variety of health issues over the years and been to various montreal hospitals, this is the best one. That doesn't mean it's great, it just means it's not as incredibly terrible as Lachine/Lasalle/Verdun hospitals. They are stretched thin, as is the case in all Montreal hospitals, which is not the fault of the hospital but the government and the budget. When I went there, I was lucky in that I saw a resident doctor. These doctors are always infinitely more thorough than actual doctors, actually taking the time to listen and ask questions, unlike ER regular doctors who speak to you for 5 seconds after your 8 hour wait. Our hospital system is broken, but if you have an emergency case, you should go to this hospital if it's close.

Note: Hi to all who visited or going to visit this hospital ... may be my review is not according to your experience ... additionally this review is espically for international travelers & might be helpful for hospital authorities to improve there system for foreigner visitors. My family member is on visit here and has travel insurance. So no family doctor (as per canadian rules is available for them & I am not against this), who facilitate patients as a bridge, between hospital reports, doctors and appointments. Explaining while story, I am personally disappointed with waiting time, even in emergency & additionally coordination among doctors & staff is pathetic .... ! May be all Canadian hospitals have same waiting time or procedures ... even for follow up checkups. My relative had serious condition & he has to wait for same duration for second and third follow up as first visit in emergency. Secondly there is no coordination among doctors from different departments ... After all checkups or even for follow ups there is no coordinator, who can explain the patient's overall problem ... initially no contact number or emails were provided from where we can get feedback from home. Every single time we came for health condition after medication, we have to visit emergency & went through same procedure .... But after getting our file in system and having intouch with appointed doctors, we got appointments on time without any delays or waiting. P.s. important points for all visiters: - You all must buy travelling or Visa insurance - whenever went for emergency hospital visit, one should must take front desk & department representative or appointed doctor's number and email. - one should try to get doctor's direct appointment, instead of coming back to emergency. - when doctor's gave anyone apointment, then they start helping as your family Doctor.

Everyone in the waiting room took over 12 hours before seeing a doctor. Don't waste your time here. Go somewhere where the doctors care. I wasted 17 hours in the waiting room eating only vending machine food. Walking out at 7am with a wrecked sleeping schedule and 0 answers. Yup after waiting all night for a doctor, he gave me a chest xray, and 10 blood tests only to be told: "sorry, we don't know what's wrong with you. Try somewhere else." Oh and to get the results of the blood tests/chest X-ray, I need to wait 30 days. I'm in severe pain in my abdomen, and I collapse asleep every day from something. Are the hospital staff overworked or incompetent?

Came in for a EKG and standard cardiac ultrasound, usually I am in and out in under an hour, instead, I ended up being there for 6. The staff was very rude, irritable and misleading even when I asked for simple directions. I was instructed to wait in the waiting room untill I was called for my ultrasound, I sat for two and a half hours to find out that they had mischeduled. The doctor then asked me to wait another hour so she could go on lunch break. The ultrasound was very rough, and then the doctor proceded to laugh at me when I expressed concern because I was going to be late for my next appointment. I don’t normally write negative reviews but my last visit left me feeing upset and mistreated. I have never seen a hospital so disorganized!

Came with my almost 4 months pregnant wife after a fall from stairs; reached the emergency dept. at 12 noon on 21/12/2018 and waited (waiting still.. ) for more than 11 solid hours without any update from them. Feeling sad and disappointed with the world class health care system ..????

Amazing service great staff very friendly helpful and caring. Special thanks to Ramona and Krishnamorthy Amazing job. This hospital is the best in Montreal everything new and at high quality Strong suggest for giving birth.

All the staff from security guards to receptionists to nurses to doctors to x-ray technicians were extremely friendly. Hospital was very well-kept and nice looking, and the wait time seemed reasonable for my relatively low priority injury.

I would love to give it a 5 but I disagree with their administrative procedure. My doctor had faxed my referral with my cellphone number and all details. The hospital called an old number which was the one on record. Apparently I went there when I was a baby, one time. I am 32 years old, things have changed. They refused to change the number until we present ourselves at administration. If anyone is waiting for a procedure, this may be the reason why you are waiting forever. They need to change this procedure. It’s absolutely ridiculous, especially since all my details were sent on my referral by my doctor. Service was impeccable during my gastroscopy. Extremely satisfied with my experience in that department.

This is the Glen medical center. It is not only the new location for Royal Victoria, but it is also the new location for Montreal Children's Hospital, Montreal General, and very soon the Montreal Chest Institute.

Really nice view from the room I was admitted to. Food is actually good and you have choices! Also having a room to your self and a bathroom/shower is amazing. It makes you feel like you’re not in a hospital.

I don't understand people complaining about long waiting times . Hello? It's emergency and there's people who come in who have priority or are going to die! You don't come in just because you experience flu symptoms or because you have a headache ! Leave the emergency for the emergency and you'll have wonderful service.

I'm pretty content with the services but avoid going there when it's late unless it's a real emergency. There is most likely only 1 triage doctor running around dealing with the ambulance patience in the back and the walk in patience in the front. You'll end up waiting till morning to see anyone especially if you're not categorized as an emergency.

I've always saw this place as helpful and caring towards my father until I went to the Intensive Care Unit. Nurses were extremely nice and gentle but the "general" doctor (whatever his title is) responsible for the Unit was extremely rude and unpleasant. For him, my father was just another annoying case he had to deal with. Basically, he had a complete lack of compassion and patience towards us and my lovely daddy.

Jennifer Sousa

This hospital its terrible. I'm diabetic type 1 and the made me wait hours to do blood tests without eating when in reality people with my kind of condition are supposed to be priority. One of the guys said " everyone is diabetic here ". Who says that? They don't care about your health. On top of that, I need to do other tests to make sure something isn't terribly wrong and still priority isnt taken into consideration no matter how ill you are. Montreal hospitals suck. This is why paying for things is better. Its sad to say but hungry money people out there may treat you better. Most drs are not in their field because they truly care about your health and want to do their Best to prevent, they JUST do it for the money ans diagnose. This is for every hospital in montreal. Some worse than others. Shame on them. Shame on Canadian health care system.

Melissa Labelle

I am sharing an experience where a family member was brought in by ambulance (on more than one occasion), I don't know how waiting in emergency is but my brother received great care both times at this hospital. The nurses and doctors seemed stretched thin but did the best they could. They quickly ordered tests and were prepared in case extreme measures were required and they very kind to me. We've had an experience with a different department at this hospital where they were disorganized but I can say the emergency department was on top of everything.

I thought staff were good but I think I only saw a doctor for a few minutes, if that, who grabbed my front and back and said if I didn't wince in pain I don't have broken ribs, didn't ask about my left shoulder and collarbone. The doctor didn't really talk to me but talked to the student doctor who had been examining me though no one xrayed my left shoulder and collar bone, which still hurts and lacks full movement 5 months later. I really wish a qualified doctor had talked directly to me and took the loss of my left arm mobility including the ability to lift my arm up, seriously. I don't know whether my experience is comparable to third world countries or it was just bare minimum to fit the billing code. This building was so big and impersonal it was hard to know where you actually were. According to my hospital bracelet I was actually in the Glen portion, with same address as the royal Victoria Hospital and l was mostly assessed by staff and high tech equipment and then by a student doctor who sounded more like my interrogator than an actual doctor. She seemed very condescending and continually returned me to point zero as if I had my first case of bronchitis, which wasn't even why I was there. She seemed to talk to me in the negative, asked me if I knew how to apply for a family doctor instead of asking me how long I have been waiting for a family doctor. I have been waiting for almost 2 years. She told me having bronchitis was just like having a cold and asked if I ever had bronchitis before, instead of asking me the actual purpose of my hospital visit or if coughing was causing pain in my right rib, which I hurt in my fall along wth my left arm/shoulder/collar bone so I found it really hard to take off my jacket but right after the fall I couldn't move my arm and then of course when I coughed I couldn't cover my mouth with my left arm. And then my lip was cut and I banged my tooth really hard on the sidewalk. I also could hear them calling me the young girl, as if my being older was a joke to them. When I was admitted the staff had put an iv part in my arm they said just in case I needed to get hooked up to one. I think the IV part once in my arm made me stay put even though after being there from around 5 pm to around 9 pm, there were many times I felt like walking out. I had the really bad fall on Monkland where there was a lot of construction related gravel on top of uneven pavement right by a curb, no signage or anything to prevent an accident. The area is obvious since there patches of new pavement there. Before I left hospital I asked security guard for directions and he seemed to be refusing to speak to me in English, which may have partly been why I walked into a crime scene in the wrong end of the parking lot. And it wasn't even Friday the 13th.

Horrible waiting period in emergency and even for visit with appointment. Took my mother (cancer patient) there for emergency, she suffered for hours, no action taken. I was admitted to emergency twice for myself, wait 10-11 hours single visit , there was hardly 6-7 people before me but it seem, staff went on break, shift change or something, they stopped calling anyone, stopped seeing patient. Today came for an appointment that I took 3 months ago, appointment was at 3pm and its 4:45pm, they havent even called the people with appointment from 2pm.

Nurses(not all, especially the ones in emergency) service, wait time, all are horrible. Terrible experience at the time of my surgery also. I came here for an ectopic pregnancy at 8 am and i was told that the surgeon will come at 8 pm. And I had to sit on the chair for twelve hours to wait for the surgeon to come with an excruciating pain. The next visit after 6 months when i was pregnant and started spotting but by the time i was seen by the doctor in 14 hours i already had lost it. Never going back to this one.

No Vegan meals! Admitted to Royal Victoria, requested vegan meal to avoid meat and animal products. I was told not available and put on vegetarian meal by technician. Tuna lasagna was served with vegetarian meal written on the receipt. Since when is seafood fish a veg meal? Its 2019, vegan is now mainstream. Even airlines carry vegan meals since a long time. I hope the hospital will see this message and provide vegan food going forward. But my stay was good except for the above hiccup.

I have no idea what wrong about the entire health care system's in here. I went to a clinique close to this hospital, the physician referred me to surgeon. The later, my issu is more severe, then I went to the same clinique. They said to me the surgeon is usually perform in their place once a month and they didn’t book my appointment. So I decide to go to this beautiful gigantic hospital in wish to see a doctor, but I realize my case still not severe enough. I’m desperately waiting fir my turn to see the doctor. Please excuse the weird name, I just want to preserve my anonymity. I went to the ER by the request of another doctor. The triage nurse (she was possibly of latino or Filipino descent ) was dismissive and extremely rude. I think her name was Reputtle, or something along those lines. I was not triaged properly, she simply told me it was going to be a long wait for me before even asking what was wrong. She was nasty to deal with, I couldn't even approach her for a re-evaluation. I was forced to wait 9 hours and was in a great deal of pain. I wish people took their jobs seriously. I was not mean or disrespectful with her. I don't understand why she had to be that way with me.

Terrible Terrible Terrible! I took me 9 months to see a urologist and another 9 months for my appointment with a urogynecologist that I was referred to by my urologist. So, I waited 1 year and a half to see this specialist and on the day of the appointment, I had to wait 2 hours past my time to see the doctor. The doctor spent only 10 minutes with me and when I started talking about my menstrual problems he stopped me to say "don't talk about menstrual problems, I am a urogynecologist"! This is utterly shameful! Where is our healthcare going! At the end, he referred me to a physiotherapist and another appointment with him in 6 months! I am afraid by the time, they are going to help me with my pelvic/urinary issue, I've lost my marriage, am depressed, and spent best years of my youth in pain! I am tired of being entangled in this nonfunctional healthcare system that they call free! I wish it was not free cause I rather work extra and be in debt but get better and faster service!!!! All staff was really nice, caring and sympathetic. The ER was really over capacity today but I got in at 12pm and had bloods + saw doctor within 2 hours. I was deemed high priority and it’s shows because people who arrived earlier/at the same time as me never even saw a nurse or doctor when I left 12h later. Meaning if you’re not being seen, your case is non urgent and you probably are in the wrong place. The only complaint I have is that they lost the first set of bloods they took which then put me 5 hours behind. But once they took the second set, they were pretty fast. Other than that, they were pretty fast for the amount of people in the ER !

Waited 3 hours to see the doctor for my legs but never got to see one because I had a panic attack....I got up and went outside in the rain ...and they said to come back in and it should not be long ....my appointment was for 8 30am not 11 am....

(Translated) Perhaps I had a particularly miserable evening, but under no circumstances would I recommend that a loved one go to the adult emergency room at the Royal Vic. I accompanied a member of my family concerning a situation which seemed to us all in all necessitating a rapid evaluation in the emergency room. The wait to only see a nurse at triage was one hour. The nurse who received us then lacked professionalism and respect, adopting a condescending attitude and little emphatic towards the concern expressed by my loved one. I am fully aware that emergency work is difficult, but under no circumstances is it appropriate to imply that someone's worry about a health problem is superfluous in such a situation. Then, it was not so much the waiting time that was painful but the environment in which we had to wait. No management or supervision of the waiting room was done, even if it was relatively crowded at times. Several individuals were barefoot, lying on the expanse of 3 benches waiting to be called while others did not find a place to sit. The waiting room was never cleaned in the 8am we were there, when clearly sick and messy patients (in addition to their luggage) had been hanging around for hours. Patients who were waiting in front of a lying man and his luggage noticed after several hours that there were about ten bedbugs on him and his things, and it took more than 20 minutes before an intervention was made at this level and the waiting room was not even disinfected afterwards. Other patients, clearly inebriated and waiting for a friend who had been taken to the emergency room, were loud and dehinibed, bothering and ended up getting sick and falling asleep in the bathroom at the hospital. 'emergency. At no time did a security guard or a member of the emergency staff intervene. The only good point of this visit (and the only star deserved) went to the emergency resident and the emergency physician who were empatic, efficient and took the time to explain to us what was going on as well as the handling. appropriate load. In short, this emergency should be avoided.

This is the worst hospital you can go, we got here at 9 am it's 8:15 pm and we still not seeing a simple doctor. They have only one doctor for emergency. Not even in a 3rd world country you get this treatment. Shame on this hospital, shame on Quebec Health System.

Laura Heard

Our 18 year old daughter falls sick over Labour day with fever, chills, lower back pain and nausea. She had no other option then to go here because nothing else was open. After 8 hours, they give her fluids and IV antibiotics and send her off with 2 antibiotic prescriptions and tell her to take both until cultures come back so they can pinpoint source of infection. 72 hours later, she is back in ER with same symptoms. Again, its late and she wants to find out results of culture which no one would give her over the phone earlier that day. She has another 7+ hour overnight wait because neither antibiotic is working and guess what, they had never sent the cultures or urine sample in for testing! They forgot. What? So they still don’t know for certain the source of infection and the infection lingers. Unacceptable.

Ismail Bouabdillah

This is the worst place ever. The staff is incompetent, the doctors ask for help from other doctors, it’s a complete joke. Do not go there... do yourself a favour and go somewhere else. Real bunch of incompetents

I had a hysterectomy surgery at Royal Victoria-Glen. I'm so glad that I had it at this hospital. First of all I want to thank to my amazing surgeon Dr. Jessica Papillon-Smith , anesthetist, all doctors and nurses. After the surgery, I stayed one night in PACU with the amazing nurses and staff. They're not only professional, they're also caring, understanding, helpful psychologly and mentally. Especially during the pandemic, when I was alone at the hospital because nobody was allowed to stay with me, they became my family at the hospital. Thank you Royal Victoria-Glen. Elvan Buyukkarakas.

(Translated) Emergencies are rotten! I am anemic and sometimes I go because of severe pain attacks! Usually the anemic are given priority so that it doesn't go to waste, but my waits are always long, about 2 hours of the time. In addition, they make you spend the night in a chair even when your condition is still quite serious! Disappointed I do not recommend this place. (Original) Les urgences sont pourrit ! En plus il te font passer la nuit dans une chaise même quand ton état est encore assez grave ! Déçu , je ne recommande pas cet endroit.

I came to the hospital for an appointment at 9 am and it's currently 12 pm and am still waiting, I've seen over 100 people pass before me and am still waiting. It's been 5 months of excruciating pain and still waiting. A big massive hospital isn't the solution, but to be more organized and seeing ways how to make the hospital more effective and efficient.

Every time I speak with the staff at the emergency room they was always very kind to me and trying to make sure I was fine! Sure it is the emergency room and I know I will wait, so I bring what I need for the 12 hours stay. Sadly some patients was hard on the staff for no good reason. I know you are tired but it not hard to say hello, please and thank you...basic human skill. They have to deal with that every day. You, only went you are sick. Please be nice to hospital staff. Ho and I almost forget, the biggest expense for my emergency stay was 10$ for the parking ticket. I am just happy they fix my problem and don't have to take a mortgage to pay my medical bill like it would in the US.

(Translated) I can not believe the number of people who complain about the bad service of this hospital ... I have witnessed it myself and I am extremely shocked. There is a very big lack of proffessionalism and empathy on the part of the staff. They act like real robots ... I had angioplasty at the Royal Vic a few days ago. Everything was perfect. The people were cheerful, friendly and efficient.I chose to speak English but most staff were Francophone and spoke French to my wife. Worst hospital I have ever visited in my life. Nurses are extremely rude, when my wife asked to poke the needle gently for drawing blood the nurse replied rudely "just let me do my thing, you're so sensitive", without considering that she had been admitted there from the last 24 hrs, out of which 14 hours in the emergency waiting area with no beds, when we got a bed we asked several times for a pillow, they replied again off course rudely "there are no pillows in the er". And you have to be a millionaire just to afford the parking there. Very bad and super slow system. Lazy nurses and doctors. Never ever going back there again. Stay away..

(Translated) Very bad experience! I tried to make an appointment at this hospital and after making me transfer from person to person more stupid than the others. I finally got into a on a save message that told me bye. So I call again and fall back on the first beastly air that transfer me without even telling me where I was transferred. I politely apologize to him I was transfer everywhere but I only need to have the mail to send the request of my doctor. After a long sigh she said to me: BIN LA is because the mail is in English !!!! Then without even asking me if I was ready to write the email she shouted (yes literally screaming) spelled out the letters of this email. So all this to say that I did not take the email in note and that I will never go to this hospital. Frankly this shouting after when we simply ask for information is unacceptable! I had been sitting in a room in emergency ward, alone, from 7 pm to 11 pm! and waited for the doctor's visit, but nobody showed up! I asked the staff several times, but no one knew when the doctor would come. There was just 2 persons in the waiting area, it was a very calm night. I was thirsty, hungry, tired, and stressed. Finally, I came back home after 4 hours! and I didn't see a doctor or get any treatment. Do not go to this place! you would not get any service in the emergency ward. This modern hospital, with great equipment, is just wasting the public and taxpayers' budget...

On the other hand, it is 8h later that the first person is called to meet a doctor!?!? No movement, no warning to tell us that there was no doctor available this morning? ZERO Stars if possible . Nightmare of a hospital. Doctors don't care and barely pass by when in ER. Nurse just came by with WRONG medication (luckily I was in the room to prevent this from happening) When I asked why would he be taking this medication?? I was told that "I don't know why but this is what the doctor prescribed" . Terrible Service. Went there around 6pm and didn't leave there until 4am. At around 11:30pm, i was told that i was getting a blood test and it would take 1 hour. That hour turned into 5 hours. At 3:30, i was told that they lost my blood sample and they would need to take another but i was not going to wait again. They said i can go home and they would call in about 2 hours. I am still waiting for that call 4 days later!!!! Its amazing the hype the put into this hospital saying the wait time will be less the half and i almost been at the hospital for 12 hours! Well first of all we should not put all the nurses in the same boat. But I met very few staff with whom I got along very well and who seemed to be listening to me and not just "by the book" As some say in previous comments we feel a certain coldness in most of the staff And even arrogance for no valid reason at the start. I find that very unfortunate because I have also met SOME and only said well A FEW employees devoting to their vocation with the painful day at the hospital was more pleasant compared to some who I believe drag their personal problem and do not bother me to make us feel them and for that I hope not to return there because it is intolerable for me and non-professionals I come out of my last week angry And I would give a good lesson to some people who believe in a situation of power and abuse it. I have been here in the ER since 1130 am and I am still waiting to see a doctor; it’s now 1110 pm. It’s amazing that the service is so bad and extremely slow. Most walk in clinics will do only tele-health and some of the websites to book appointments on the Government Medical Appointment Scheduler does not work. Patients have little resources to get medical attention and so they end up at the ER. This is crazy?? Not only is it unsafe; it is inhumane. It is time to prioritize patients health care and access to medical care now that the pandemic is stabilizing. I know the staff and doctors are over worked but the government must improve hospital services including decrease waiting time to see a doctor.

Terrible hospital and staff. No one seems professional. Expect a simple blood test to take 8 hours+. Rude nurses and front desk office employees (not all but all that I've met). I am totally reasonable and understand that there is a priority system but these guys don't care about their patients. I waited for more than 12 hours to get x-ray reaults back and whenever i would inquire about the status they will lie to me with the usual (whats your name? I will send the nurse to talk to you which never happend). Finally, they left the IV on me and when i told them i need to leave for work since this isn't going anywhere, they refused to take ot off. Overall i would never come back here or recommend it to anyone. I felt like i would be treated better if it was charity, let alone i spent over 3000 ...

Merci au docteur Mansour et à toute l’équipe (infirmières\infirmiers, housekeeper) Vous m’avez bien aidé durant cette période difficile. Vous avez été patients avec moi et vous avez été très professionnels. Great job guys!! Je vous remercie du fond du cœur????????????

It is easy access by metro. They process you quickly .and it's all there

Don't go to the emergency department unless you are just about to die. Came in about 7:30 pm it is now 5:30 am no one saw me if you are not a priority you will wait forever. No doctors on duty overnight. Billion dollar white elephant.

Esme Tardif

The staff is professional and have very tough jobs; I feel for them. BUT there is a serious shortage of staff and it leaves patients completely abandonned in the ER. I have been waiting for 12 hours to see a doctor for a racoon bite and still haven't been seen. I have seen numerous elderly hurt & sick people come in and wait for hours until they couldn't take it anymore and left back home. It breaks my heart. I have been asking for a blanket since I got here (the AC is very strong) and no one is able to give me one in 12hrs time. It's a miserable environment and I wish never to come back again... I hope I can leave soon.

One of the worst experiences. Starting with the parking, waiting 15 min to be able to get in. The parking it's like a maze , I saw people circling 3 times same path in order to find the exit from parking. Also when I exit it, waited at least another 15 min. One door that was open when I get out of the parking was closed when I get back, no indications whatsoever. I visited the external Clinique and even if there was nobody else aside myself, I waited 1h and a half. A lot of staff, but mostly they didn't seems to do much. The person that was supposed to see me wasn't there and nobody know where he was half hour after my appointment. It's a shame when you see so many health employees working so hard and people like these doing nothing, at least they can help their colleagues.

Xzarra

Nasty parking, incompetent doctors, dirty floors and toilets, nasty employees.

(Translated) I entered for an infractus on February 9, 2015 and I was very satisfied with the doctors and all the staff who took care of me, and also with Mr. L. Cadieux and even the one who prescribed me Nicorettes to stop smoking Michel Lebel. And the hospital did not scare me at all, very well looked after and they smiled at me every time someone from the staff came to see me in my room. Thank you for this welcome. "Quick and efficient service and the staff and nurses were very professional."

Navneet Sekhon

Extremely rude staff. Spend over 12 hours without seeing a single doctor. After 14 hours, asked for pain killers, nurse ignored and rudely told me to exit the room and to wait my turn. Doctors called a single patient in every 45 minutes to an hour.

(Translated) First time at the Royal Vic, good experience, they had to keep me for a few days, the inf. were very attentive to the emergency room and on the floors, of course there was a lot of waiting, it's normal (of course if you go for a runny nose you will stay the week ???? ‍♀️) as in any hospital, the teams do what they can with what they have, I am grateful to them! (Original) Première fois au Royal Vic , bonne expérience, on as dû me garder pendant qques jours , les inf.

(Translated) Alert. Watch out for women who want to give birth at the Royal Victoria Hospital. I gave birth at this hospital on October 16, 2013. It was the worst experience I had in my life. I almost lost my baby following a dehydration due to the catastrophic negligence of the nursing service and the pediatrician who signed at the exit while my little one reached the threshold of weight loss. I have delivered by a cesarienne and I needed help from a nurse to nurse my baby Call me and I am not told or told that a nurse will come but we do not come nurse comes after a good time and do nothing. even . I call to give me a glass of water because I can not move and no one comes. Again, at the exit we are told to go quickly free room because we need it for another patient while I am sensee to stay again. Sincerely thrown shocked. (Original) Alerte. I came here with a family member for an appointment. It wasn't easy to get a free parking. The staffs are nice and I want to thank them for their work. It seems that ER side is bad. I also noticed that the hospital seems very empty. The gov needs more staff in hospital for public healthcare.

Worst experience of my life. Was pregnant and had to go to the emergency for some spotting. Waited 15 hours. They were passing people that came after me , before me. I asked them why? The receptionist said that my human life and my fetus life were not considered important. Finally they brought me in a private room, no blanket, no pillow. Did an echo, sent me home, told me everything was fine, except for the fact a had a huge fibroid. 4 weeks later had a miscarriage for unknow reasons. When I asked the gynecologist at the Royal Victoria if it was possible that is was the 10 cm fibroid in my uterus. He answered me that they don't have means to investigate unless I had like 3 miscarriages. They don't care about people there, they just want your medicare. If you ever had a chance to see what they actually get paid to see a patient, you would be mortified about the service your getting. Not normal.

(Translated) I just want to thank the nursing team in unit D8. There, ALL people are attentive, available, respectful, gentle, ... In short, they are the best caregivers I have had in my life! I would add that the culinary service is remarkable! Believe it or not, the dishes are delicious! And, the possibility of choosing your own menu is exceptional !!! Thank you very much for making my stay in the hospital so pleasant despite my difficult physical conditions. Hat! Before I knew there's a service for blood test at AMI, I made myself clear that I wanted this service at Royal Victoria Hospital; which means being rude and nasty passing in front of others. When I had my blue card(hospital card) I mellowed down.

Been waiting for 11 hours to see a doctor. Staff is rude and full of attitude. When I asked how many doctors there are, I was answered in a completely disrespectful, condescending attitude. This staff is ready to bite your head off. I was told there are "several doctors" yet not one patient has been called in the last 2 hours.

krzysztof kulig

My only positive opinion would be about the nursing staff and doctors that are professional and friendly. If not worst place ever to go to. They don't respect the hours of appointment, there's not enough places to seat for pregnant ladies and you have to waste a whole to for 2 meetings. Feels like another world. Made complaints to the ombudsman and they said that they can't help about that. Ridiculous!!!!!! After waiting until 1pm when arrived at 8am. Returned home without having all appointments because the last one was scheduled at 4pm when it was suppose to by at 9:30am. You should definitely go somewhere else all other places would be better and if we have another child we will go to another hospital. Update. After 24h after giving birth we have to free the space. We had to fight so they can check the fever of my wife so they need to do other test and finally we got to go out to come back because they didn't do all the check up with update for the baby and she has caught something. Bravo bravo what a excellent service for a hospital that don't care about anyone. Avoid at all cost.

Last trip was by Ambulance, was pleasant.

The one thing Canada was well known for is down the toilet! I first arrived at Charles lemoyne hospital in south shore in an ambulance and waited there for 9.5 hours without seeing a doctor.got frustrated and left there to came to MUHC at 11:00am at 11:30 they took blood and I waited till 12:30am(13 hours later) till they called my name to tell me the results. their excuse was that the computer decides who is next!!?? no freaking common sense. in all it took almost $300 dollars (including ambulance)and 22.5 hours to see a doctor in "emergency" situation. my friends and family in Europe and Asia were in shock and awe when they heard my story.it was 2nd time in 35 years that I needed medicare and this is what I got for paying 50% percent income tax for all those years. absolutely disgusting. meantime our joker prime minister is allowing more people to jump the fence and come to Canada.

(Translated) Large, beautiful, spacious, clean a hospital up to Montreal and the medical and paramedical staff are very courteous. Equipment at the cutting edge of technology. Well done for the work during the pandemic. (Original) Grand, beau, spacieux, propre un hôpital à la hauteur de Montréal et le personnel tant médical que paramédical est très courtois. Équipement à la fine pointe de la technologie. Bravo pour le travail durant la pandémie.

Spent an hour between nurses and registration desk, transferring me in their system to Queen Elizabeth clinic back and forth, not even in line for a Dr. Staff was unkind and did not help at all. Decided to go home and go to a hospital back in Toronto to check if I have a fracture or not.

Dajinder Devsi

Made me wait 15 hours to check fractured wrist that they said wasn’t fracture 4 weeks ago(came back because swelling kept coming back) turns out there was 2 fractures on two different bones near the wrist. Then they put a 2x8inch slab of plastic, that just covers the forearm. Another day passes by and wrist and thumb keeps going numb. So, I come back to the hospital again and explain what happened. Nurse says you shouldn’t have waited so long, but I’m here still waiting after 12 hours.
