The hospital management team should be ashamed of itself. Having unfortunately been here multiple times over the last month I can assure you there is no “short wait” times, only 5 hour minimum from time of registration to first seeing a doctor, and often 8+. Severe cases still are hours until first seen. And then extensive waits for testing, follow up with the doctor, etc. And doctors are hesitant to order multiple tests, often wanting to do one (urine for example), wait a long time for results, then order blood work, wait a long time for results, etc. Instead of just doing broad testing to begin with to get a proper diagnosis (like other hospitals I’ve been to do). The waiting areas are over capacity, with contagious coughing children packed into small waiting areas. My daughter and I got gastro our last visit here because of this. I’ve been to children’s hospitals in other provinces and this is BY FAR the worst I’ve ever seen, not even the same ballpark. I would guess staff levels are 50% or less from where they need to be to get to what most people would consider “acceptable” wait times and service let alone GOOD. Truly a horrifying experience every time I’ve come here. Avoid at all costs if you can. And if anyone from MUHC reads this, PLEASE do something. When the entire waiting room is full 24 hours a day on a regular basis and all anyone can talk about is how slow this place is, you obviously have a serious problem.
Tremendously excellent! They take great care of children there. A million of thanks to the whole medical staff!!!
Didn't expect much but the staff and service were amazing. My toddler broke his leg and it took 4 hours from beginning to end to get registered, see the doctor, get the cast etc. so it wasn't too much of an ordeal for either of us.
Daughter has a broken arm. We went there at four p.m. . Came back at midnight and they weren't able to put a cast on her because the cast guy leaves at 10 p.m. We came back the next day at 8 a.m. and we were still there till lunch.

Try to avoid this hospital, this is nonsense- I mean waiting times, go to a smaller out of town if you can. Why so many invested if there is always only one doctor that is serving the emergency and the waiting time is more than 10 hours. And nobody is evaluating properly.
Good place, the doctors are excellent.
Great staff!
Very good care provides and parking fees is very very reasonable even cheaper than street parking
Very good hospital for baby specialty occupational therapy

Very good hospital, they are professional, speed examination and clean place
Very bad and unprofessional doctor in the world. I came at 11:30 pm and was waiting to be called till 3:30am. Then i was waiting for the doctor in the room till 5:20am. The doctor touched my daughter’s stomach and asked to give her Tylenol and go back. And if she vomited blood then bring her. My daughter had a severe gastric pain and was ignored. As a helpless father i am so disappointed.
I see the most negative reviews are from the waiting times in the ER. Not arguing with that: waited with my teenager who herself heard the public announcement that the wait would be 6 hours, and decided to get up and go home. The ER was not crowded at all at that time. I agree with many that the ER is understaffed. But, I am giving 5 stars because of the experience with my other child who underwent neurosurgery. I was researching online different children hospitals in Canada for this type of surgery and Montreal's is the only one out of two (the other one is Toronto's). The care and the technology that was bestowed on my child was fantastic.

Really good service. Wish only it would be a little faster.
"Fast tracked" meant waiting over five hours. Clearly disorganized and understaffed. Experience depends on doctor. There's a woman doctor who is a dragon lady, whenever we get her we know it's going to be a circus. My child's doctor said to avoid taking her at all times, get her through the night and go to clinic in morning.but it's hard when your child is very sick. After experiencing Ontarios health care - fast, nice environment, good doctors- it's hard to accept the care here.
Emergency is a total mess.... Waiting for hours (long hours more than 8) to see a doctor (the only one in the night shift) this is not 1st world medicine at all !!!
Bad experience with the staff. Not human at all. We stayed 12 hours. They don't care about my baby. She is 2 months. The garda staff was also very arrogant. Last time for me

Last year, I passed 5 days on a hospital bed there and I just loved the way residents and actual doctors took care of me. It was so good that it felt like I was home, and, actually, I was kind of sad when it was time to go back to normal life… P.S. food is fine

Really great place. Wait time can be long, but not if the child's condition is serious. I mean, if it's for a cold or something similar, you'll wait just like anywhere else. But they have a two step "triage" that is really effective. THEY CARE about your kid :)
I think someone has to understand that having a 8 months old baby without a critical condition is not a reason for the emergency room to keep his parents waiting for 4 hours because there are other more urgent cases.
Top-to-bottom a place of wonderful caring.
Overpriced $15 or more parking. Typical 3-12 hour Hospital wait time to see a Doctor after 1 hour triage with Nurse.

Excellent!
Staff is great and the building is new, but appointments are always super late (so prepare to spend your whole day) and they might require you to FAX them documents. Took me a while to figure out where I can do that...
Clean, brand new hospital. Very helpful and very friendly staff. My partner wouldn't be here without you!
Great service thank you
Vryy good hospital and hospitality
The staff regularly update wait times. Announcements are in french and english. And the waiting area is much much better than any hospitals I’ve ever seen.

One of the best hospital in Montreal... the staff is so friendly and helpful... the place is so clean... other than the waiting list this place is amazing....
worst wait time. Took my kid twice and both time waited more than 6 hrs.
I did not wait long and the staff were really caring and took good care of me!!
Worst place to visit.. Their wait times are no where near acceptable. When you go to emergency, Wait times are more than 8 hours. Like are these guys for real? Avoid this place at any cost. I came back home after knowing the wait times.. I waited 2 hours and was told it would take another six hours for my turn. No Thank you.
"apparently" my ear was hurting due to a build up of wax, when i went to another hospital, i suddenly had an infection, so i took anti-biotics and it felt much better, the first hospital was montreal children, the second one was " la cite de sante" in laval. unprofessional, uneducated, how dare you call yourself a hospital
Worst hospital in the world. Staff are not human. And the nurses act like their queens. Every time you ask how much time they say you should be lucky to be their. Wait times are 10 hours+ and the hospital smells very bad. They treat …
Truly amazing people. Thanks for taking care of my daughter!!!

Hello, To be honest I was expected a lower review for MCH when I searched for. it's 4 starts now (Apr5 2016) based on 50 review??, so probably my experience ( only emergency dep related )is just an exception from the rule. Here are the facts: 1. came with a kid 10 y.old at 21:10 Apr4 2016 2. Initial Triage 22:20 3. Gave up on waiting and left home without seen a doctor at 3:20am So MANY people sleeping everywhere possible, swinging , hoping, kids crying, horrible experience (I am not complain on this), asked a guy at reception, why it takes so long, he said it's normal it's only 1(one) doctor ALWAYS during a night hours . To be honest, I though ONE doctor during the night hours it's for a sort of small town/village based cliniques, but not for Montreal Children Hospital Emergency Department, but I could be wrong (we are not Canada based). I'd like to believe, it's co-coincidence - bad luck, bad time.. but that's it not more not less.

Quick emergency. Went for my 3 months old baby and was out after 3 hours. Very efficient nurses and doctors. I will go here from now on. However the parking is quite expensive. We paid 24$ for 3 hrs !
Our experience was great our kid didn't feel well and after calling 811 we were recommended to go to the emergency. Courteous staff didn't wait that long either.
(Translated) Unfortunately, I cannot give this property a 5 star rating. I was there with my 1 month old baby who was sick. Despite their expertise (good diagnosis, excellent triage), the lack of gentleness manifested with babies is disconcerting. I sincerely wonder how it is that some nurses and / or doctors can lack skills to such an extent. They were unable to place fluids on my baby to hydrate him. They stung my child in 7 different places, she had bruises all over it. Finally to collect my baby's urine, a catheter was inserted, like an adult. I strongly suggest everyone to avoid such unnecessary pain for your child. DIRECT meeting at Sainte-Justine Hospital where they have much more advanced techniques. They treated my daughter quickly and she didn't feel a thing. A slight prick on the tip of the finger and they had all the necessary results to make a correct diagnosis.

Dr. Di Meglio THANK YOU! A year ago just in time for the Holiday season my sister a 13 y.o. was referred to dr Di Meglio for GAD. Thank you for everything you have done for my family. Dr. Di Meglio saved my sister from her anxiety and eating disorder. Now a year later she is at healthy weight, her anxiety is almost completely gone and during the whole year she received the treatments she needed from psychologists, psychiatrist and doctors. Dr. Di Meglio, was following her for weeks, every week weighing her and making sure she stays on track with meds. Thank you for saving our family, thank you for comforting us when we needed it and thank you for being so understanding. Dr. Di Meglio called every time when we couldn't make it to the appointment or when we started having distants appointments she was still calling to check not only on my sister but on all of us. She is an amazing doctor.
Wife delivered here, obstetrics service is good. Peds is not so bad, had to wait 3 hours for them to see my daughter.
stupid ! spending billions and make us wait for 8 hours. Why bother to do nothing
This is the most rediculous service ever. Only one doctor available........waiting time 6 hours, after we waited 6 hours, they told us 7 to 8 hours.
CAUSE THEY GIVE YOU GOOD SERVICES THERE
It's very good the team of doctor. Thank a lot of resident doctor Armen. i like the way that they take care about the patient. The blood test and urina test are very fast.... a thousand thanks for all personel of this hopital.

Good service, but only when you meet the DOCTOR As I have noticed, there is no problem with the number of staff because the staff there is enough. The staff means the late, in clear words the people who work there want you late.
The worst emergency hospital in Montreal they don’t even care when your son fall from the bed I went to emergency my son kept crying non stop he got hurt in head I had to wait more than 6 hours before the doctor see my son my son is only 19 months don’t go there if you want your kids to be safe they don’t care about our kids
Was waiting in the emergency room for 15 hours!!!!! With my baby who had 104 fiver and had a bad croop. He was about to get dehydrated. I came in Saturday 1:00pm at 5:00am I went to the triage again and they checked my baby again, and they said that there is only 1 Dr. For 200 patients, and will for sure have to wait until 9:00 then they will get more doctor's but I still have big chances that I will have to wait much longer then that!!!! This is not a hospital in my eyes it sounds more like a prism
(Translated) Well organised. (Original) Bien organisé.

The Montreal Children's Hospital is the best department of the hospital. They have kept their stellar reputation despite the bad service given by the rest of the departments.
Go if your kid is really bad (and you're feeling lucky). Sometimes fast and great, sometimes a 10-hours waiting + cold service. You never know...
(Translated) Disgusted by the lack of service that is supposed to be provided (emergency room reception) (Original) Dégoûtée par le manque de service qui est supposé être apporté (accueil à l'urgence)
(Translated) An excellent hospital, with competent and emphatic staff. Yes, sometimes it's long, except that it does not depend on the will of the staff. The cuts in the health network hurt everyone, but it's not by shouting at people who do their best that it will help. If you really want to shout at someone, try the political class, which really depends on the waiting time in the emergency room. ;)
Beautiful building . Needs automatic doors on bathrooms .
Infectious and non infectious together! Average waiting time 7hrs or more..You’ll get more sick so better don’t bring your children in a hospital like this! You build a superhospital with one doctor catering 200 patients? They need to improve big time! To get prescription in quebec would take u whole day! Unbelievable!

The nurses and doctors are rude, and act as if you are wasting their time
(Translated) We have always received excellent service, fast and appropriate to the health situation of children. For those who complain ... you have no idea what's going on behind closed doors. The staff do their best to see everyone in a reasonable amount of time, but keep in mind that major trauma or cardiorespiratory arrest is a priority compared to a cold or other nonsense for which half of the waiting room are there and require the attention of many people and time. The staff is already reduced to a minimum, especially in the evening and at night, so be indulgent. They do what they can. Tell yourself that if you wait it's because you can. Unless you are in danger of death, go to a clinic.

(Translated) The worst emergencies I have experienced, I stayed in the emergency room at 4 p.m., I arrived at 1 a.m. and I left at 5 p.m. the next day. And without my ceasing interventions with the nurses, my son and I would be there for a long time. All the patients from the day before went and distributed to their home except us, we ended up the next day with new patients who arrived in the morning, and I saw them pass and we nothing. I asked him why, seeing that we have been there for 12 hours already, the nurse told me that we were code 5, which means not very urgent. My son was bent in half of abdominal pain, but they had no fever, so they deemed it not urgent. On the other hand, the time I was there was abused even if for them it was not urgent. Finally I ended up getting impatient and I had to see the nurses several times. Finally around 4:30 p.m. They gave him x-rays and noted that there is an urgent need to give him a barrital enema because his intestines were about to explode ', it had been 15 days since he had a bowel movement, and he almost had a bowel obstruction. It could have turned into a disaster in emergencies, which ignores you and that the trellis nurse is not even able to judge the emergency. I would never put my child's life back in the emergency room at MONTREAL Children's Hospital.

Wonderful Services, All staff are professional i love to go this place more faster then any other hospital...
(Translated) We went to the emergency room with my 18 month old baby who was in sudden pain. At the draw the nurse said, but he has nothing why you came ?. we went to the hospital because our little one was screaming in pain. We had called our dr. From family who could only see him two days later and other clinics are not taking children. We were therefore advised to go to the hospital. After waiting 8 hours I am told to enter a room where I am still waiting. A Dr comes along and asks me quickly what the little one has. I explain to him. She was very rough and dry. She told me, but now I don't have time to negotiate with a 2 year old child, take off his pants faster because there are people waiting, while I try to calm my scared little one . I think we speak in a better way when we go to the vet. It's frustrating to see that after 8 hours of waiting we have such a service! you need to know how to talk to a child and parents. Is it normal to examine a child without disinfecting the examination tables between sick little patients? In addition, only one parent can be with the child in the waiting room at a time. The security guard is unprofessional, lacks information but insists that his jurisdiction is his office point, to go and wait in the car. However, there is a waiting room available in the hospital where the other parent or accompanying person can wait. Security guards should have a course in politeness and professionalism.

Worst Hospital! The Staff are not human, I brought my baby for an emergency case and I really regret. The emergency room was full capacity and the place was very stinky and smelly. I couldn’t change my baby’s diaper, because of the washrooms was very dirty and disgusting. There was vomit in the floor and no one couldn’t cleaned it. When I ask the security he told me that they are missing staff. So he just put a blanket on the vomit and a sign saying that the floor is wet. Imagine what kind of virus you can get from this place, not a Covid virus but worst. You or your baby can definitely get a bad virus and be very sick. Anyways I just ran away from this place. Seriously I don’t understand how parents can stay in this hospital waiting more then 10 hours with their kids in a stinky and dirty place. Very Very disappointed, if I can give no star rating for this hospital that will be great.

Awful! Waiting for last 8 hours to see doctor for my son and no luck yet. Nurses are ridiculously rude. Not a good place to take your child for treatment.
Awful. The ER has become a joke. I went there today at 12 with my daughter who had high fever and stiff neck (possibly meningitis, which could be deadly) and at 2pm, I was called in the examining room...thinking I'd soon see the doctor. At 4pm, a doctor walked in, and with an attitude was like "we are only treating serious cases, you can go to St-Justines" as if it's so easy? I took an entire day off and paid 25$ parking to be told to leave! I understand telling the patients who just arrived, but we literally talked to a doctor, she could have take 2 min to check my daughter. 2 minutes! Later, I found out that 4 teens were in a car accident and were being prioritized. I get it, but it's not like it was an entire bus. 4? And they dont have a back up plan? And is my kid less important? Anyways, bringing her to a clinic tomorrow...God help them if something happens to her in the meantime. Lesson: no more ER at the Children's - it's a mess!
Wow! We went there last night for an emergency (time based, the longer we waited the worse the problem was getting) and everything was so well organized, everyone was so nice, the explanations were perfect. Thank you so much.
(Translated) Good experience I like for my boy Philipe (Original) Bonne expérience j'aime pour mon Garçon Philipe
Excellent hospital with professional doctors. But the emergency section waiting time is too much. I waited for 6 hours for many times.
Great care for kids, top care usually
Love the staff
Hospital teams are amazing but waiting time in the emergency room is terrible..
Kind, helpful team at the asthma clinic. We are very lucky to have such wonderful services.
Good hospital for kids....massive..less wait time
Slooooooowwwww
Just came back from ER. My daughter had a fractured toe. Staff was very courteous and friendly. Everything was done so fast: triage, registration, seeing the Dr., x-ray, results. We didn't even have time to sit in the waiting room! Wow and on a week-end. I was so impressed.
Very nice hospital featuring new private patient rooms equipped with full bathroom, clothing armoire, big screen TV and sleeping accommodations for parents. Each floor offers a family room that features a kitchenette, sofas and place to eat. The staff make an excellent effort to get children involved. The starlight foundation is wonderful. The team of nurses, doctors and other healthcare staff have all been professional and friendly. Staff offer services in either English or French and make you feel welcome. The facility has just opened a few stores and has plenty more opportunities for more to open in the near future - a toy store, a general store and a magazine shop thus far. The hospital features a library that is open to the public and also has a huge beautiful atrium (PK Subban), an outdoor playground, a daycare room and teen recreational room. Underground parking is expensive but is state of the art - electronic counter for spaces available, overhead lights to indicate vacancy from a distance and a pay terminal next to the emergency entrance that accepts credit cards. The new layout very much resembles a modern airport terminal with a massive main entrance hallway that joins the major neighboring hospitals together. There is also a very familiar airport style drive through drop off route to the emergency entrances. A hospital cafeteria can be found at the Royal Victoria - it's expensive and disappointing. The hospital is very easy to get to, it's located just off the Decarie expressway and accessible by either train or metro (Vendome). A large choice of restaurants and shops can all be found within walking distance. The hospital is bright, clean (new) and unparalleled from any other I've visited on the island so far.

The mental trauma my family had visiting this hospital is to the point just the thought of it makes me shiver. My 2 years daughter had fracture and we waited 13 hours to be seen. The hospital only serves one purpose to keep the management happy not the patients or parents. When we tried to check on doctor waiting time the nurse yelled saying there are more severe cases and emergency . I get it but what I don't get it is emergency is meant to have severe cases and if the medical system so messed up that everyone has to wait 12 hours average then it should not be called emergency. Now the sad part is doctors are decent and facility is good . But access to them is next to impossible. I and here tonight for my daughter head bruise and we just hope it's not a fracture or something worse . But if only we get to see a doctor soon we will be able to sleep in peace. I am sure it is going take 10hrs before I will get to see a doctor tonight too.
Wonderful team that goes beyond expectations in a state-of-the-art hospital. The MCH is our 2nd home. Our 2 year-old has a rare disease and she has spent 12 weeks hospitalized since birth, not counting the 100+ follow-up appointments she's been to. All departments we've visited have been fabulous (intensive care, surgery, imaging, nephrology, genetics, nutrition, OT, audiology, neurology, neurogenetics, social services, speech therapy, ER, Pediatric Test Centre (blood draws) etc.). Mishaps do happen : communication sometimes breaks, wait times can be long at times (but never when the situation is critical) and some staff is just OK while others are simply magical. So I won't say everything is always perfect, but realistically it's difficult to ask for better care. The medical genetics team have saved my daughter's life multiple times, always with empathy, clear explanations, interest in our input, impressive availability and a smile to boot! Everyone seems to truly want to see the kids do well. Children are in great hands here.
Best children's hospital in the world. Best doctors and nurses. They really care about their patients in every single way possible. THANK YOU MONTREAL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL!!!!!!!!
I got EEG done for my child and was told that hospital will contact you back on the reports .It been 5 days I haven't heard anything and left some messages over voice mail ...NO RESPONSE !!!!
Great hospital to go to. Had a pneumothorax and got hospitalized for the last whole week. The doctors are friendly and willing to explain every questions and the nurses are caring! PS: Great thanks to my nurses Alicia , Mohammed and all others who took great care of me for the last 10 days!
SERIOUSLY UNPROFESSIONAL! i brought my daughter to the hospital december 8th situation hapenned at 5:30pm! Room 8 ! My daughter hasnt ate for a long time due to the long wait at the hospital! I bought a yogourt from the vending machine didnt even have a spoon so when i was called in the room 8 i asked one of the male nurse if they maybe had a spoon. Usually they keep some where they leave the formula milk in the back .. ONE BLACK WOMAN NURSE WITH GLASSES cut me and the orther nurse off and so arrogantly said WERE SUPER BUSY RIGHT NOW WE DONT HAVE A SPOON ! I was shocked to be spoken to that way! DISGUSTING !
Worse experience ever... I understand that they may be understaff, that there is a lot of children to see, but to wait 8h just to enter the doctors room and to have to wait more than 2h plus to see a doctor to take care of my son blooding head it's an absurd! He had a big open cut on his head and I had to suggest the lady at triage to clean the wound (it's the least the should have done!) Very disappointed with this hospital. They show no respect to parents or kids...
Good place out side downtown
Arrived there with an one year old with a 40'c fever and after 3 hours waiting they told me could be much longer to see a dr and fever isn't that serious. We decided to get the poor boy out as he was sick and couldn't even sleep there. Disappointing
They were excellent when I was a child and now, bringing my daughter, they're just as caring.
Very caring doctors, I broke my shoulder and they took good care of me. The building is very big and filled with restaurants, clothing stores and waiting rooms. The hospital is really clean and vast. The only downside is the parking fees ???? a little too overpriced.
Always have a peace of mind by having them close in the hour of need. Waiting times can be long but no more important than your kids.

Worst then before.....I came to de hospital at 6:30 pm and its been 9 h (now its 4:13 and I am writting this review because I am so annoyed) that we are waithing for a doctor for long. The staff are really rude and one of the genitor is complaining none stop (he is also being rude) about all the seek children's!....[*ps: A lot of peoples that came afther us are already out!] Ps : They said the waiting time is 8h after registration! ***Don't go to this hospital cause your gonna be stuck there for at lease 10h or more unless your kid is dying "even for that ,they don't care (# its not even there kid wright"*****
(Translated) It's beautiful and that's it (Original) C'est beau et c'est tout
There is a good staff here but they are hampered by obvious poor planning and management. How the children's hospital doesn't have changing tables for babies that aren't in a crowded DIRTY washroom is beyond me. Kind of annoying to have the automatic toilet flushing repeatedly behind you while you are trying to change a baby.
I waited for 2 hours for seeing a doctor because the line was huge but the doctors are amazing and they took care of my baby very well.
If there’s zero stars I would give it zero stars. Here for the vaccine passport, had an appointment, it’s been hours and there’s still no one at the desk. Poorly managed team, very disappointed.
Love the service and people there

We waited over 12 hours to get a radiography
It's an ok hospital nice and clean but had to wait last year 12.5 hours in the er just to get told i need iv meds for the next 7 days. Not to mention when they called into the room the doctor didn't come for a whole 30-45 minutes..
(Translated) For my part, I have never waited more than 4 to 6 hours of time, never had nurses or doctors lacking tacque. But the downsides are that those who have children with a strong cough walk everywhere and the guards do nothing when we go to the hospital it is to be treated not to get sick. PFFFFF !! When it calls us to enter the nurse's office we wait another 20 min, 1 hour and more before seeing him or her. There should be more nurses and doctors to avoid a long waiting time in the offices I would even say that I spent 2h30 in the office the last time at least 2 months ago (Original) Pour ma part j'ai jamais attendu plus de 4h à 6h de temps, jamais eu d'infirmières ou de médecins qui manquent de tacque.
First time = worst time Got there at 8am and there were only a few people in the waiting room. Things were looking up when we got bumped straight to waiting and skipped triage because of my little girls arm injury. Wait 2 hours & watched everyone else get called in. Then the people who got there after us all went. Several announcements were made about not bothering the addition nurses about how long you were waiting. So we stayed patient. No sanitizer in the machines, no soap in the bathrooms, etc... Two vending machines out of order & one near empty. Then after 8 hours of waiting, I went up and politely asked if we were still on the waiting list. "No your not on the list it says your waiting for results... you must have already seen the doctor!" After calmly explaining that we had yet to see a doctor, the young women went in the back for a few minutes. She came out and told me a mistake had been made and asked me to go back to the waiting room and they would call me. No "we're very sorry, " No " our apologies" Just "go back and wait..." At least after that we were the next people called in. Very disappointed! 24$ in parking 15$ in snacks 8 hours of my Sunday lost. On top of that it was our newborns baby blessing. My wife had to miss it waiting for a doctor and I missed the party after waiting for a doctor. (We switched half way) All in all probably our worst hospital expletive yet! Way-to-go new hospital!!
Terrible experience.
(Translated) After 2 hours of waiting we finished our problem very satisfied ... bravo! (Original) Après 2 heures d' attendre on a fini notre problème très satisfaite...bravo!!!
We had to come to the emergency area for our child. There were positives and a big negative. The waiting times are unacceptable. We waited nearly 6 hrs for the final diagnosis. There were a few positives. Clean hospital. Doctors are good. Nice restaurants on site. Reasonably decent parking. Part of the reason for crazy waiting times could be lack of staff. For the number of people that were visiting (~50 in 5hrs), there were apparently 1 or 2 doctors on site. Considering this is Montreal’s finest hospitals’, it is a shame that it is not appropriately staffed.
(Translated) First time in this new place. My daughter was in the pediatric emergency room. The treatment was excellent. The nurse assigned to her (Nathalie) did a good job ... similarly for the various doctors who came to communicate with us. I was amazed by the beauty, the cleanliness and the size of the hospital ... The restaurants, the library, the staff ... the parkiiiiinng !!! Huge!!! (Original) Première fois dans ce nouvel endroit. Ma fille était aux urgences pédiatriques. The doctors, nurses and administration were so professional, thorough and kind. Specifically Dr. Barbarian and Nurse Emanuelle in the children's hospital. My son's broken arm was treated carefully and fairly quickly, but most importantly, with gentle kindness. Remarkable bedside manner.
An incredibly efficient, reliable, and clean place..., even during a pandemic. I would never take my children anywhere else unless they would bleed out. The Montreal Children's Hospital is a teaching hospital, which necessitates all medical personnel to be as good as they can be to foster education.
Excellent staff, quick visit. Parking is expensive (but lots of other options for access).
Took my baby there for the first time; the staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive, and everything was new and up to date! My only issue was that our BRAND NEW children's hospital only has 1 designated nursing area and thats near emerg. You would think they would be better thought out in that area as many people need to bring their babies there; feeding in waiting rooms and corridors is definitely not ideal! Friendly us Technition allowed me to use an empty room to feed my LO as he had been fasting and was quite hungry! Otheriwse no complaints :)
(Translated) thank you so much ! thank you for saving my son's life (Original) merci mille fois ! merci davoir sauver la vie de mon fils
We Waited 18hrs to see a Doctor over this past weekend of Dec 28-29th 2019. This is not a joke!..Probably because of the holiday season, vacations, short staff and there being Lots of people (sick patients). . We Did not get all the tests we wanted. The Resident MD was nice and sympathetic ( young woman)....there was some problems with triage and elderly MD who refused to see us at her end of shift..Very bad experience. We were not the o ly ones...people slept overnight on benches and chairs..looked like some dooms day apocolypse sceene. Lesson laerned. Make sure your child Doesnt get sick a on the Holidays or on a weekend. Never going back there if we can avoid it.
2 time waiting on the phone for long time, then they saying that they don't have téléphoniste to answer, asking me call back later
Although i appreciate the NICU department at children's hospital, the ER department is not what an ER centre should be. Wait times are too long and you will keep waiting and waiting and waiting. Dont go there if you dont want to let your child suffer more. Go to a private children's hospital even if you have to spend some money, atleast you dont have to wait for 8 hrs just to get some test results! Horrible experience..
Thanks you for having a special Emergency Services for Kids, was there at 00:15 and back home at 03:00. Doctors very comprehensive and system is preety much working very well

Horrible service. Took 1 hour just to register. Waited another 3 hours and finally just left without being seen. Drove 45 min to another hospital was seen and treated in 50 min. Terrible service never waited like this at the old children's. Will never return.
The service is very good and doctors are very qualified. The waiting time is very reasonable and depends of the time of the day and how many kids are before you, so be patient, more when you are in an emergency room. Times are relatively …

I visited children emergency today for my son had fever since 2 weeks on and off but the paediatrician checked ear and mouth that’s it and said it’s just a fever. no proper diagnosis on what is causing this? My son is still burning with high fever and no idea what to do now? No blood test ? Will you do the same if your son is in the same Situation? Why are we paying taxes if there is no proper health service given to tax payers?
My 2 year old had a suspected concussion. We were told we would wait 7-8 hours. Which would be more damanging to my child. So we left with no medical attention. As we left the entrence was blocked by staff smoking cigarettes.
best place to wait for a doctor and without seeing him

Avoid , unless you are dying- long waiting times (10+ hours), expensive parking, all the time they play messages to discourage you stay, only 1 (one!!!) doctor in the emergency for over a hundred patients???And that is called a super hospital? - too bad the xray technician told me that at the end of my 10 hours ordeal with my son. People were sleeping left and right in uncomfortable positions ( reminded me of the long flights to Europe but compared with that the flight is a breeze...) The staff and the one doctor were nice.
Great staff

My 3 month old baby was sick and I went to the emergency as the 811 said. Obviously emergency the waiting is really long. I was there for 4h and my baby was crying non stop (took a mini nap). the reason why I am writing this is because with the pandemic we can’t even have someone with us and i was overwhelmed. I was literally waving and the nurses were making eye contact and never came to see me NEVER! They kept talking to each other laughing like if they couldn’t see me. For those if ever gonna see this is the staff inside the emergency (17.07.2021-12am-5am) you get paid just don’t ignore us.
Hospitals, clinics, doctors offices, etc all warn patrons that rudeness, impatience, etc will not be tolerated. It's time all these places including the Montreal children's hospital advise their, triage personnel and others that the same warnings apply to them also.
(Translated) Awful. I waited 7 hours and eventually said to go to another place. Just awful. The doctor did not listen to what my son complained about. Only time wasted in vain. (Original) Ужасно. Brought my daughter to the emergency around 12 midnight she had a fever up to 40. Couldn’t see a doctor they claimed that there is only one doctor and we waited until 6 am with no hope to see a doctor. While we were waiting I requested a nurse to check my daughter’s temperature they responded after 20 mins and again she told me it’s not an emergency and nobody knows how long we should wait. All people that arrived after us the doctor saw them and they left before us.
They are efficient and good at what they do.
7 hours of waiting time

(Translated) If I could give 0 stars, I would have done it. First and last time I go there, my son who is suffering, cramped, and the pre-sorting nurse decides that it is not urgent and that he does not need triage, we are left in the ward. 'wait for hours, I decided to leave and go to Ste Justine, quick care and all the exams are done, my child has an intestinal obstruction, and the lady at your house says that it is not urgent. Do you think that parents have nothing to do to spend time in the emergency room if it is not urgent enough especially in this pandemic time, in addition to paying $ 24 for parking without even going through the yard. It is really unfortunate. They took really care of my newborn baby, thanks to all the staff
Good Hospital and the staff do their best but the wait time is very very very very long. Avoid if you can.
Very bad I pay almost 1000dollars means I wait there 6hours now, I don’t know what time I can meet the doctor for my baby.maybe still need 2 to 3hours. I have gone many countries, canda hospital is the worst, even Mexico better than canada in mechanical area.free is not good for all. I think I should knock the door of any one doctor ,and I ask meet he and I can pay he 1000dollars.maybe better.so,if you are free, you can come here,if you need pay for it,you should goto find other, any choose better than this one
It would be easy to reduce bottlenecks at admissions and streamline the process for intake. …
I wish I could give 0 star. One of the worst hospital. Doctors nurses all are inhuman. It’s not children hospital, it is just children killing hospitals. They prefer the babies to die. Ridiculous nurses and doctors.
Still waiting 10 hours, the reception has nothing to say when you asked if will take longer, security just say I don't know for every question you ask to him. No respect loll to citoyens.
Horrible experience! We've arrived on a Sunday at 11:00 and left at 17:00 without getting my child treated as waiting for a foot doctor took hours without any news. Total waiting time was 6 hours but the consultation and x-ray time was less than 10 minutes and the staff couldn't care less about your child dying in the waiting room. Questioning about your child's case whilst waiting for the doctor seems to annoy the staff. I would not suggest visiting this hospital if your case is not severe as the management is very poor and they may waste your time.

My kid had a virus infection. I would like to thank all the nurses with 5 stars and doctors for their best service in taking care and informing me of their good progress. Scott (Picu) very well knowledge and know very well how to talk to parents in a calm and peaceful way. He always looks out every second, alert at all times and gives the Dr a complete info on what was happening and what medications the patient had. Laurence was the first PICU nurse initial care taker then in ACU and she was an angel taking really good care of my kid. She was also listening to the patients parents and helping them as much as she could. Asking informations to dr and verifying my kids progress. Elaine (ACU) she is a super duper woman (she is a million years old but doesn't look over 50) vert energetic lady, helped in cleaning my kid always looking after like the kid was her own. At PICU 2 other nurses excelleny, I forgot their names. One was well knowledge and other extremely kind and compassionate All doingb their best to help my kid get better. Doctors busy but taking their time with you making sure your questions have been answered. Even if they feel my kid is better they want to be 100% assured before discharging. I never want to come back nor go through this but if life happens, then I will just come here. I know my kid will be treated well. 4star forb the Hospital ***Suggestion to a super big hospital: should have your own labs for all sort of test so its quicker. Hope you will work in this to help Dr be more efficient. The quicker Dr get results the quicker they can proceed with curing patients and get to next one.
There's a dude named Fred in one of the food places that works there and makes the whole hospital shine with joy.
Terrible experiences! unprofessional, no compassion for children and their only goal is to get as many patients in and out as possible! I strongly advise people to stay away from the Montréal Children's Hospital. They pass you through and send you home without fully investigating. We brought my son there when he was about 8 months old for breathing difficulty, wheezing and persistent cough and high fever. They said his chest was clear and they didn’t see anything and sent us home. We went back again because it was getting a-lot worse and they said the same thing. He just kept getting worse so we got fed up. We ended up going to tiny tots and they saw right away something was wrong and he turned out to have bronchiolitis. He was treated and finally started getting better. Now that hes 2.5 we brought him to the children's again. he was visibly struggling to breath and they acknowledged that, but said his chest is clear. I could literally hear the wheezing but they couldn’t even with a stethoscope. They tried to check his temperature because he was hot and at home it was 103. But their thermometer was taking to long so they got fed up and just stopped it once it reached 100.4... Then they did an ultrasound of his lungs because they didnt think they needed to do an xray .she told the other resident dr that she could see a line on his lungs that shouldn’t be there, but then told us that its normal and everyone gets it when they have a virus. They sent us home again. He became incoherent and extremely lethargic , but we no longer had any faith left in the children's so we brought him to tiny tots again. Within a matter of 5 seconds of listening to his lungs, the dr said she could hear the liquid in his lungs and that he was really struggling to breath. They sent us for an XRAY and confirmed it. If i hadn’t have listened to my gut who knows what could have happened. All because the dr at the children’s was rushing and brushed us off. Shame on you! Your working with children so you need to worry less about getting as many patients through as you can and focus on the health of those in front of you! Then my 4 month old began showing symptoms of pneumonia as well but we didn't trust the children's so we brought her to tiny tots. They listened to her lungs and did an xray. They prescribed antibiotics but We had to wait to have the pneumonia confirmed before they could fill it. Finally it was confirmed and were told to watch her very carefully and if we notice shes having trouble breathing, turns blue, isn't eating much to bring her to the er. A few hours later, She began having coughing fits where she had little break in between each cough. The next day she had another coughing fit. She began coughing and gasping for air and she literally didn't have a second of a break in between each cough. This lasted a good 15 minutes. She began turning purple so we brought her to the ER. They checked her oxygen and they said that it was low between 91-93 and brought her into a room to monitor her. The nurse checked her again for all of 5 seconds and said that her oxygen was 100% and that the machine in the er wasn't the best. I then saw it jump right back down to 93 but she told the dr it was 100% she asked if she should leave it on for a bit to be sure and the dr said no. he came in and listened to her lungs and started arguing with, telling us that the other dr is wrong and that she has bronchiolitis not pneumonia.... i was shocked he had the nerve to fight a diagnoses that was confirmed by a doctor AND radiologist who actually SAW the Xray AND examined her. Especially when he only listened to her chest for a few seconds and never even laid eyes on her Xray. I told him it was confirmed by xray and he said that sometimes bronchiolitis can make an xray look abnormal and he said that the antibiotics probably wouldn't work... im pretty sure the other dr is aware it can sometimes look abnormal but decided it was pneumonia. What a GOD complex! They sent us home and said there was nothing they could do and come back if its worse. DO NOT GO HERE!!

(Translated) Very bad reception, I am very disappointed with this hospital. I came today with my 12 month old son who had a fever, the doctor who examined him said "WE DON'T CARE THAT HE HAS FEVER" we have to wait 3 to 4 days before see a doctor. She is a woman, she should have understood a mother s worries about her child, a child with a fever, we do not take this lightly, we must also know how to talk to parents (Original) Très mauvaise accueil , je suis très déçu de cet hôpital. The best of the best !!!
Do not go to this hospital at night!! The staff are super rude and they don't even care about your baby's comfort. Took my 5 month old and they didn't even put him in a crib. Had to stay the entire night and watch him so he doesn't fall over. Worst experience ever!!
Too expensive parking
Dont go to this place, if u dont want ur child to suffer My kid who was suffering from infection and fever which used to reoccur every week, the doctors were not ready to do a scan which was really required. It was my 3 rd visit in one month and all they did was urine test again n again without moving further and doing a proper diagnose for his ailment. And on top of that we were made to wait for more than 10 hours every time.we helplessly had to travel to Ontario to see our family doctor due to my kids condition getting worse. I would have seriously called up 911 and asked for help but i was just so helpless at that point of time.
Best hospital ever!
The worst hospital in the world. Very harsh and bad behaviour/attitude of the staff. Waiting period of 13 hours and no proper checkup. I WISH THAT APPROPRIATE ACTION AGAINST THEIR doctors on emergency SHOULD BE TAKEN.

We waited over 10 hours to get a radiography and blood test for my 1.5 yr old at the emergency. If I hadn't gone to a nurse to ask about the results, we would have probably waited even longer...Also I found most of the staff to be short …
(Translated) This is how they treat your children. They tie them up and punch them for their personal enjoyment I say it while seeing the traumatized children and their excuse is (they are autistic children) Honestly go and see the nurses and doctors at this hospital Go do your research there is a young person who spoke about his experience at this hospital before taking his own life Pay attention !!! Tell yourself that right now there are children maybe even your children locked up there in psychiatry to be treated badly in the sense that: tied to their bed, put in an empty and white room for hours, locked up something. leaves and get banged by his dear nurses Update: psychiatry (extension 21215) Nurses don't hesitate to insult you and hang up on you.
The most bureaucratic hospital I’ve ever seen. ER waiting time as long as 10 hours or more, but that’s not the worst. Don’t ever try to book an appointment with specialist, after you listen to the machine and call four different numbers you’ll eventually know that you have to fill a form on their website. Then two or three weeks later some very impatient and unprofessional person would call you with the most condescending tone. If you ask more than three questions he would just hung up and never call back. Only thing that won’t delay or disappear is the endless letters to my address to ask for donation. I work hard and pay tax, why would I donate for this terrible service and attitude, doesn’t make sense.

Just incredible. Thanks to everyone for saving our little Hermann. The team was incredible. Soldiers going about their duty. It was so amazing to watch. Thank you to everyone involved. From the ambulance to the doctors, the nurses, and all the staff. Watching everyone in action during such a crisis left me in awe. They are such professionals, not 1 second or resource was wasted. Truly amazing people. Thank you so much. James, Celina and Hermann Paffrath
I wait for 10 hours and didn't even see the doctor yet
This Montreal children ???? dental hospital ???? is an excellent centre for children dental care. They are experienced professionals and are very helpful. There have free parking at the street Atwater just infront of the hospital ???? from 9:00 am to 16:00 for maximum 2 hours. I think most of the appointment time ⌚ will cover by that time. There is free WiFi also.
Amazing, thank you to everyone
A beautiful and clean hospital. The service is so fast.
(Translated) Doctors are terribly slow! It seems that no one wants to work at all, or they are tired of starting to work. The children's department only works in the emergency department if you arrive by 911. Otherwise, you can sit for centuries. Come to the department for children as a child, and leave the hospital as a pensioner. And when a pregnant woman goes to get tested, she sits there for 5 hours in a crowd where everyone is coughing and sneezing, but you have to wait, wait, and wait again. The hospital is clean for this star. The rest is horror!
Baby had fever over 100 for 2 days. Lethargic. Wont eat or drink. Barking cough. Not a priority? Seriously if that isnt it then unless you are bleeding, dead or broke something you wont see anyone at the emergency.

(Translated) Just mention that the receptionist on the phone for the appointment at the allergy clinic is really rude and ultimately disrespectful, you should review the communication with the patients because it really does not reflect a good image of your establishment (Original) Simplement mentionner que la réceptionniste au téléphone pour le rdv a la clinique des allergies est vraiment malpolie et à la limite irrespectueuse, il faudrait revoir la communication avec les patients car cela ne reflète vraiment pas une bonne image de votre etablissement

The receptionists in clinique sud for neurology are dumb. They prefer talking about their love lives than to help the client. They yell personal information for everyone to hear
(Translated) Visit last night on July 8 around 23:45 with my 13 year old granddaughter. Departure around 05:00 without seeing a doctor. Beautiful new premises but no service. No one to provide information. Disappointing and discouraging experience compared to the last visit in 2013 to the old premises of the hospital. This morning in Sainte-Justine, it's better. (Translated) 1 star and that is too much for this hospital. I never imagined that a 20 month old baby with a temperature of 40.7 degrees C and the pre-triage nurse decided that his case was not urgent, and worse than that he did. I didn't even go to triage for 7 hours of waiting, and I went to triage several times and I announced that my baby is in pain, a man who works there answered me with simplicity and said that 40.7 it's normal, what do you want us to do to you .. it's really shameful, and it's the last time in my life that I'm going to visit this hospital (Original) 1 etoile et c' est trop pour cet hopital .
Worst ER ever! Arrived at 10:30pm, called in to the exam room at 3:40am. Waited for an hour in that room. I asked if the doctor knows we are here because we waited in this room for 1 hour. One young lady said, then you could wait out side until we are ready. So cold that I caught a cold. I can not concentrate writing because I am sleepy and shaking. Worst ER. There were only 1 or 2 actual doctor and 30 waiting rooms. I don't understand the system in this hospital. Eventually got out of the hospital at 6am. Is it like this in all montreal? Quebec? Or Canada?
(Translated) Very bad experience arrived since 1 p.m. with my 18-month-old daughter who is ill, only one parent is allowed to pass I have to wait in my car in the paid parking lot. From 1:15 p.m. to 5 p.m. my wife and 18-month-old daughter are still waiting in the waiting room around 5:40 p.m. Someone came for a test, she doesn't know if it is a nurse or a doctor, then they have to wait again to see the doctor that prompted me to write these words at 5:51 p.m. I'm still waiting for the auto dice info from my wife who tells me her that the battery of her tel is very low… I wait impatiently for this ordeal over so that I go home.
(Translated) I arrived at the emergency room around 23hr my two year old daughter had gastro she kept nothing for almost 20 hours. Before seeing a doctor it took 4 hours. The doctor did not speak a French word. After having examined it he found that it had wax caps so they wanted to remove them but already that my daughter was in pain considering her condition and time. At 4 o'clock in the morning, the nurses pierced the eardrum of my right ear with my daughter trying to extract the earwax. She was bleeding in the ear she was in pain and that was not the reason we came to the hospital we were able to leave around 6am. Since that day, my daughter is afraid of being examined by our family doctor. Worst hospital ever for kids on the night shift. ???????? ????????
(Translated) I work here and I am ashamed !! I went to the emergency room with my 4-year-old boy on the night from Sunday to Monday because he had been diagnosed with streptococcus earlier in the day (it was 3 days that he had fever + very bad at the throat ). At 11pm on Sunday I noticed he was pulling during his sleep so I rushed him to the hospital. Since I work here and in the clinic the service is second to none, I told myself that I was going to take him here. Mistake! I arrive, we are 6 families waiting at the reception with people to welcome us. Finally, after making the recording, I am told that my partner cannot stay that he is only a parent (Note here that we are in the emergency room and that in the clinics it is understandable since it is not urgent in clinics). So the second parent of the child cannot stay to take over if mom or dad needs a rest! I sit alone in the waiting room with my 4 year old son who is not able to sit or sleep alone so I carry him in my arms with my backpack, water bottle bag etc. It took him 3h30 just to go to the pre-triage! In the meantime, I realize that the pre-triage nurse has to run between 2 patients to register patients at the reception because there is no receptionist !!! my son falls asleep - obviously he is not breathing well because he is congested +++++ which gives signs of tightness. We FINALLY see after 3h30 of waiting we see the nurse who is stupid as her 2 feet and we placed P5 as a priority because according to her, my son is not an urgent case. First and last time that I go to the emergency room here it's sorry that I say this negative comment about my own job but what is even more saddening is to see to what extent we are understaffed. The condition of the children deteriorates extremely quickly they should have more doctors at night in the emergency room and more staff! Ca l'as pris 3h30 juste passer au pre-triage!

It doesn't even deserve 1 star. Worst experience of my life, came by ambulance after falling with my child in the middle of the street causing wounds on babys scalp. Bleeding like crazy. Arrived to hospital at 3pm, it is now 12h35am still have not seen a doctor, the wounds have not been cleaned or treated, they just announced waiting time 13hours!!!
(Translated) Unfortunately the doctor is egocentric and lengthening bacle the patients is addressed to my wife with malice with him 10mn max pour.ma daughter which is a complicated case hardly speaks in French. Do not explain anything or just a sentence I swear you max 15mn in 1 year you are not the only doctor have more humanity and time even if you see 1000 people per day. They make you wait for hours. Worst place ever!!!! If you are not visibly dying don't bother.
(Translated) After a call to Info Sante for my 6.5 month old daughter, we left for the emergency room and arrived around 00:30. First and last experience in this hotel. Quick and efficient sorting. But after.... Only 9 patients in front of us, but 3h30 wait before seeing the doctor with my daughter who cried and screamed as much as she could without being able to sleep because of the discomfort. That still I can understand, because only one doctor, and certain cases can take time. The doctor repeats exactly the same first exams as at triage and tells us: we will give her Tylenol, then we will see if she can drink, then we will do a test for urinary tract infection. Please return to the waiting room, it won't be long for Tylenol. And there, at 4 am, still from Tylenol (which I have at home). So we made the decision to leave because in the end we preferred that our daughter rest at home rather than waiting for hours to just see if she is drinking and to do a urine test .... So no diagnosis. And there, the best time of the evening. I inform the staff that we have decided to leave and make an appointment with the pediatrician in a few hours. He informs one of his colleagues who, without seeing me, leaves: "It's their choice, it's not my problem !!!". So I know it's not easy for them, but when it's 4 a.m., with your 6 month old little girl crying all she can and suffering, hearing yourself say these kinds of things, is for inadmissible. On the other hand, the man I saw to announce our decision was very kind. In short, organization to review, and courtesy of the staff also. I would therefore return to Ste-Justine next time (not faster, but better coordination, care, and friendly staff).
In triage, we were told to go to wait in one of the rooms, then we were left forgotten completely. Waited waited endless waiting and no one came to assist or even explain a bit, nothing. My daughter cried so hard that she even lost her voice, we went to ask one of the passing by staff should we keep waiting and she gave me a “don’t bother me” look and impatiently said just wait there, we are busy! Excuse me!? There were many of nurses sitting, chatting and laughing, just 3 meters away. They didn’t even bother looking at me, when I went to them they stopped laughing and chatting and turned away. This is the worst hospital experience ever. They are so arrogant and impatient.
(Translated) If I could put ZERO stars I would have done it! Make a 9 month old baby wait 7 hours in the emergency room with 41 degrees of fever for 4 days !! ?? Are we in Canada here ?? Besides, it's not just that! The doctor who arrives does not speak a French word ostik and refused to let me speak French to her because she does not understand !! What is that???? My son had a throat infection I went to the clinic AFTER they were diagnosed with. They are very good at begging the world to give them money during telethons… Where is this money in VS ???
The worst children's hospital ever , as tourist visiting montreal I think it's the last time .... Our sun had an infection on his finger Unluckily for us it was weekend with no hospitals open we went to montreal children hospital They made us pay 7oo dollars just to see a doctor Threw us In a very busy waiting area with all kinds of kids coughing and vomiting And we waited from 7pm to 12 30 am without being seen by any one And when I went inside to ask how much more we have to wait one rude staff answered me in a very rude way ( you go and sit and the doctor will call u ) I mean I'm a doctor and just work in emergency all the time never we treated our patients this way So if your planning to go to montreal children hospital grap with you blankets and pillow and food , toys for your kids and Panadol extra for your self and hope for luck.... Only one doctor and may be they call 2 to 4 patients per hour ..........
(Translated) The doctors are excellent and the care is good, however what is the reason for my rating is that the wait is a real torture. It's nice to have new hospitals and good doctors but you have to be almost dying to get care. My daughter broke her arm and I arrived at 8pm and we spent 5 hours to be told that it was a minimum of 12h waiting. You have to sleep with the big lights in your face. Why make people believe that they will spend soon? I asked if it was worth staying at night, employees always say yes, always give hope. In the end, it is often like that, I went often with my children and it is repeated. I even waited 3 hours just to register. However, when you finally see Dr., they are very good. It is reported that we are used to waiting 12 hours to see a Dr. in the emergency room. I wonder if the wait is shorter in poor countries.
(Translated) Magnificent hospital designed for children !! Welcoming and exceptional staff. We had never seen a hospital so good. The staff are brilliant and efficient. This hospital is extraordinary. (Original) Hopital magnifique pensé pour les enfants!! Personnel accueillant et exceptionel. On avait jamais vu un hopital aussi bien. not a place I would trust with my child. Waited from 10pm-6am in emergency, came by ambulance, and was NOT seen. Barely triaged. My child struggling to breathe and vomiting entire time. Walked out and went to a private clinic as soon as they opened. The Children's hospital is heartless and LAZY
On October 21st at 1 am I arrived to the emergency Department with my 10 year old son because he got a fish bone stuck in his tonsil. The nurse taking care of him tried to administer some anesthesia as the ENT doctor asked her to do. She placed an IV in and administered two vials of some liquid and then connected him to a bag on the pole. After all this, she decided to take his coat off, but, by doing that, she pulled the IV out of the vein. With no remorse, she said it was an accident. Following this incident, she tried numerous times to reinsert an IV with no success saying she cannot find his veins. My son at this point was very scared, he started to cry and asked me to go home. The nurse just left the room. At 4 o’clock I had to disconnect him myself from the ekg and left. The next day we received calls from the hospital telling us that a better team will care for him. My child is still traumatized by this event and we decided not to go back to this hospital. The nurse’ lack of empathy makes us think we are treated like this because we are emigrants . She proved lack of professionalism and her behaviour is not going to be forgiven.
Very bad. Was waiting for doctor appointment one month. Then was offered a day sergery in on other month. Then in another month sergery was resqeduel in other 20 days. So I don't think they are serious about their job there.
Getting worse with time... Definitely not the same service as years ago. Went there with my child for a head injury. They said she wasn't so bad but it shouldn't be long. After waiting 7 hours I spoke to a nurse asking if it was normal to wait this long with a head injury and she said no. She said and I quote "let me see if the doctor FEELS like seeing anyone yet." Feels?! Nice to know when you're a doctor working while at work is optional depending on if you "feel" like it?! Over the next 5 hours the doctor (there was only 1... The other doctor didn't show up for his shift) only saw 1 patient every hour. Finally at shift change things sped up and the new doctor when she saw us appologized for the unacceptable waiting time. We had waited a total of 12 hours! You expect to wait at the hospital but 12 hours is ridiculous and that was just to get into the private room to see the doctor! But what makes it worse is unfriendly staff. Since when did grumpiness become part of their job description?! Parking is a nightmare and if you park under ground the prices are absurd! Unfortunately I've had to use their services more than a few times over the last year and each experience has been worse than the last.
Our experience with our son was simply fantastic! Thank you Rhonda and Véronique for the good care, and thanks to the whole skilled OR team that took care of our son! Thank you MCH!!!! ...and Pablo, I still owe you 50$...
Expensive parking
Worst hospital ever u can't believe how long will be waiting .saint justin hospital 100 % better
I came with my 2 year old daughter and we waited 7hour to see a doctor. She was in lot pain I complain couple of time to the nurse but nothing happend.

The waiting time for the ER is ridiculous I was there with my 4 year old daughter for more than 8 hours, I can’t believe that you don’t have enough staff for the night shift, it’s no fair for the kids. The positive is that the installations and the attention are great.
What happened to Knowledge is Power and every Child matters .. the nightingale's are sobbing in the orchards of our mothers and the hearts we broke long ago have long been braking others (master and boatswain) Hi, I am the 10 y/o MCH locked up (& branded 2 teeth) for a Sociopath(mother) “I dropped u off and made them keep you, I showed you I can show you again.. you swore at me” (one rage) I was a great kid, as proven in MCH 7D after 2 years went by as my head was toyed with, (her hate for my father, will be my wrath forever and still is/ we see) blackmailed my whole life moods and rage I suffered PTSD (every type of abuse) while caged in MCH. hellhole in error ! as I helped other children win freedom they came and went I stayed locked up.. Here is your Proof.. 40 years later.. a life of blackmail deceit, even jailed again ect. on the word of the same Sociopath (all in police records) still making my life Grief today (Detective Jim Davidson. You made me fight all the bullys that came and went, it was life changing I believe facts & truth will Helps me be free and saves others from Systems Mistakes Lets not Cause me anymore pain, as my Pastor Rusty said many years ago “ this is the worst case of abuse he has ever seen” (he has seen a lot) I asked him why and he told me because its unstoppable .. no end in sight I should be able to be heard / try reveal the truth, regain some of my Dignity. (Vindication) (I wont go into other Horrors I know of related to "incarcerated" Children) Thanks in advance for our anticipated Reconciliation with understanding & learning protecting other children together (hopefully MCH can not have me charged again for trying to help others, still) I think people whom hide truths should let go for those true & out to help others.
very bad hospital ... leave people more that 5 hours without even nurse seeing ... I am there now for more that 5 hours with my son ... I left the hospital after 7 hours without action taken to check my son .... very bad management system in this hospital...
Tragik.dont even try to go on emergency room during the night .only 1 doctor for over 100 patients and zombie parents who wait minimum 8 hours.pathetic system and managment inside of a beautyfull new hospital.so sad something have to happent in our "free"health care that bleeding from everywherw
I won't focus on waiting time. It mostly depends on lucks. Last time, we were told to wait minimally 10 hours when my son got pulled elbow, which literally needs one second from the doctor to put it back in place. Otherwise, the child has to be a situation with extreme pain. What shocked me is that the bad attitude from the nurse who said you can do it by yourself if you don't want to wait.......I can't believe such words come out from the mouth of any responsible professional.
The triage will work based on the severity of the patient decided by a receptionist (without asking and checking properly) If u don’t say u have severe pain u have to wait all day long by seeing 100’s of patients going before you.your turn will come only when they don’t have patients coming in which is stupid. I waited almost 10 hrs (I saw 60 people going before me)and didn’t see the doctor Good luck guys 0 stars if possible
Not helpful, long waiting time security not able to communicate in English for a bilingual hospital, not impress at all... Poor services and regulations
Amazing service and clientele they provide you with the proper care. They also make an effort to follow your progression and help you to their best ability
Zero respect for people's time. What's the point of an appointment if we have to wait 2+ hours? Second appointment we waited 2 hours to not even see our doctor but a resident who asked us all the same questions our son's doctor did on our first visit. Sent out again to wait for someone else for a test. Why are you wasting my time? Instead of asking the same questions read the doctors notes before you call us in and have us see who we need to see right away. I really don't appreciate taking time off work, driving thru hell to get to this place to have to wait like an idiot. I'm a fair man, I don't expect to be seen at my exact appointment time. 30-45 minutes fine. But 2+ hours? And then more and more waiting? Get organized and respect people's time.
The biggest problem in all hospitals usually is long waiting times. Here it can be the same story. However the staff is professional and nice. And the hospital itself very roomy.I don't know why all hospitals suffer from lack of doctors in ER.No one wants to work there?!
With 5 months old baby waited more than 8 hours in Emergency to meet the doctor with a referral letter from St. Mary’s Hospital. Nursing staffs are arrogant. The service is terrible. I think there is only one doctor to manage all the patients. After calling our number more than 2 hours waited in green room number 8.I don’t recommend anyone to this hospital. If we ask about the waiting time they say it’s according to the priority. To give priority there is no doctors are on duty and nurses are busy with their own business.
(Translated) My daughter is coughing for more than two weeks until she has difficulty eating and she sleeps almost coughing. I brought it twice to at least stabilize and fog it if possible. The last time they increased the waiting time from 5 to 7 1 \ 2 hours, they passed all children pirs and not pirs in front of us. When asking for a reconsideration, the clerk informed us that it was impossible to call a nurse because my daughter was standing and her breathing was normal, even though she was getting worse with her attacks. We returned home after 6 1/2 hours and without any professional attention. Disappointing service, unfriendly infrastructure for children and 25 pieces lost parking. We probably regret the old and efficient children's hospital on Tupper Street.
The nurses, doctors, and staff were all AMAZING!! They all deserve accolades. Thank you!! - my child was admitted immediately from triage. We barely had time to take off his coat.
Worst hospital ever, when I take my baby there the nurse even don't know how to use the phototherapy medical equipment, and three times of acupuncture when they are trying to injection. What makes me more angry is that after a few hours injection, the baby's whole left hand and half arm is swelling. The nurse is not willing to explain. I think the doctor here is excellent, as for the nurse, no comment.
Unprofessional... uneducated employees work there.. No respect for patients.. Rude behaviour with patient.. Often wrong treatment end up in another hospital due to their lack of responsibility...

(Translated) My 10 month old baby has fever for 3 days in a row at 39c, 39, and 40c tonight. I brought her back to this hospital and the nurse placed her in category 4 non-emergency. It's been 5 hours of waiting now without seeing a doctor. The service is pitiful. Nurse not competent. Friendly and understanding staff!
I used to love this hospital and always recommend it. It used to be great, I would drive 30 minutes out of my way to go to that hospital rather than the one in my town because that's how good I thought it was. However, over the years the quality of care and service is degrading. I recently went four times for my daughters broken foot (sport injury) and was told the first time it wasn't broken, then got a call two days later saying that it was. The following week at the check-up I'm told that in fact it's not broken and that her cast can come off. Complaining of foot pain, we returned to be told by a now professionally dressed doctor in tight cycling attire that it is in fact broken. Then returning 2 weeks later for a follow-up, I had to point out the break on the x-ray to the student doctor, who didn't see it. When I tell this to the latest doctor who sees us, she proceeds to say that the break is as clear as day and that the x-ray technician even did a great job explaining exactly where the break was so therefore it shouldn't have been missed. More recently I was back at the ER but this time with my son who broke his arm, we are told by the doctor 'hurry up and get the cast on before the technician leaves' so we hurry and we are greeted by one pissed off technician because he has 'one more patient' and can't quite leave yet. He proceeds to put on the cast and three days later the cast is still soft because it was so poorly done. So back to the Montreal Children's hospital we go just to be told by a very unfriendly triage nurse that "yes the cast was done poorly and yes we need to wait all over again to be checked by the doctor and yes RAMQ will be charged for another visit because the cast wasn't done properly the first time," perhaps due to the cast technician's eagerness to go home the other day, I wonder?! We are then told it's roughly a 5 hour wait, and that cast repair is only priority #5 which is the lowest priority and the triage nurse doesn't even bother to tell us that the cast guy's shift ends at 10pm (luckily we already know that information from our previous visit a few days ago), realizing that it's already 8pm that means by the time it's our turn, the cast guy would be done for the day... so we decide to go home... guess it's back again tomorrow for a third visit for the same problem! Sad to see this once great hospital slowly turned into what it has become. Suffice to say, our previous donations have not gone to help train compassionate and competent workers.
Great hospital great staff. Patients need patients.
(Translated) I spent 4 years of my life at this hospital and I have always had good services, good doctors, good nurses (e) s. I recommend it to parents who have children! If your child is hospitalized there are sometimes activities for him / her to do with a group with other young people. Also there is pet therapy which is extraordinary for children! I call it a luxury hospital! All renovated and clean from the inside. This hospital will miss me a lot ... I have just turned 18 and I left it which breaks my heart totally. I will never forget the good service I received ... Thank you to all the teams at children hospital. Dont stop working hard! (I love the hospital) (Original) j’y aie passé 4 ans de ma vie à cet hôpital et j’ai toujours eu du bon services, des bon docteurs, de bon infirmier(e)s.
