I got Job letter offer from this hospital

A male nurse requested that I remove my watch for a suitable vein for an IV. I asked him to put it in my bag. I never saw my watch again that I spent a few hundred dollars on. I guess all I have to say is that they can keep it and live with the fact that they are a thief at heart. Be careful of the nurses.

Was brought in by ambulance because of an unalive attempt. Everyone was so nice to me. Was admitted for a few days there for physical monitoring. I had a hard time one night and the nurse sat with me, gave me a hug (was wearing PPE) and even got be starbucks when all the nurses ordered because my outreach worker wasn't allowed to bring me drinks (could be alcohol) I've had a few bad experiences with my seizure disorder there (Dr told me I was faking them) but other than that, pretty good experiences. Long wait times if you walk in but that's understandable I think

Princess Nhorms

went there and the waiting time is "forever"???????? if you go there, expect to wait from morning to noon.holy!!

From start to finish the St pauls staff were kind and helpful with instructions to get my gastroscopy done. I was terribly nervous because the first time was traumatic for me. The doctors and nurses were very helpful and encouraging and determined to provide me a pleasant experience. Very kind and understanding.

Lori Neault

Recently ended up in the ER. The admitting nurse was fast and efficient but a little less than friendly to me but kind and helpful to my husband. Once in an emergency room staff was amazing. Told me everything they were doing and why. Diagnostic tests were performed outside the ER in a different area of the hospital. Transportation staff and technicians were fantastic. I could have done without the kidney stones but the treatment I received was thorough and fantastic start to finish.

I recently fell and hurt my back and hip. I was in excruciating pain and ended up a St. Paul's. Xrays had been done, it did not appear that anything was broken, but multiple doctors suggested a herniated disc. At that point I was discharged. I attempted to get out of bed which severely dropped my blood pressure and I began to vomit. From there I could barely walk and I was unable to sit down. The doctor suggested I go back in the bed and wait until I'm ready. The inflammation needed to be under control before I would be able to move. They gave me some more pain medication and something for inflammation. I was still using a bed pan to go to the bathroom. One of the nurses at the desk began sighing very loudly evertime she saw I was still there. She clearly thought I was just there taking up space and she would talk to other nurses, clearly annoyed, that I was still there. I have never felt more ridiculous and stupid in my life. I'm not sure if this woman thought I enjoyed being in the emergency room? No one has ever made me feel like such a burden. I truly believe this person picked the wrong occupation. However, the rest of the staff and doctors were very good at there jobs, and really made me feel like they cared. It only takes one bad nurse to ruin it unfortunately.

Abel Gibson

The service was friendly and efficient.

Want a great customer experience? Break your thumb! An innocent follow-through on a shot, in my hockey game last night, caught my thumb and split the bone. (note to self: Do not play an extra period with possible broken thumb next time). Of course it was a really late game, and I did not get out of emergency until around 2AM, but here's there amazing part ... I went to St. Paul's in town here. The interior of the hospital is dingy, dark and hasn't been updated in decades. I walked in not expecting great customer service. Especially because we are in the midst of new COVID issues. I was greeted politely at a screening area, asked to sanitize my hands and swap out my mask. A few questions, and I was in the queue with instructions that my "potential broken thumb" might take a back burner to other concerns. Fair enough. I sat down on a plastic chair, in a non-descript room with poor lighting. Almost immediately, a nurse met with me and gathered my info. Of course I forgot my wallet, but they accomodated me with my ID images on my phone. I apologized for using up their time for something as simple as this, but all clinics were closed. The nurse assured me it was fine, and they often helped with even less important issues. I was then ushered into another room, attended to by multiple doctors and nurses, politely asked questions and taken through tests, taken for x-rays, and eventually fitted with a splint when it was discovered the bone had broken right through. All of this happened over about a 2 hour period of time, and the entire time the staff were helpful, polite, and dealing with many other (more important) issues. The rooms were old, the equipment antiquated, the lighting only slightly better than candles, but I received the care I needed in a way that focused on customer satisfaction. I thanked everyone on my way out, and just imagined how difficult it would be to maintain a positive, service focused attitude in that environment. Especially, faced with some challenges of the day! If these health-workers can demonstrate customer obsession, I think that those of us working in vibrant spaces according to our own schedules should be able to raise the bar!! ???????????????????????? Thank you again St. Paul's Emergency staff. It means a lot! ???????????????????????? #healthcare #saskatoon #stpaulshospital

Horrible place; my fiancé was told to go in for day surgery, we traveled 45 mins then wait all day to be told that the surgeon can’t do it that day (understandable an emergency came up); so they have him come in again, only for him to be left waiting 9 hours , a day surgery became a 2 day gong show!

Dorian Thorson

First impression? Run down, and unkept. As one enters emergency center, staff are negligent to the needs of new arrivals. Seats are disease ridden and people smoke so close to the doors the waiting room smells of tar. Get your act in order. With the most deaths and worst rating in Canada you'd think you'd try to do better. For shame!! And you Call yourselves a Christianity based institution

Steve Keal

Very thorough in the admitting and rest of intake!

Pooja Parmar

Very frustrating. Spent 6hrs at night. Came in with severe ache in my abdomen. Doctor ran bunch of test whole night and said all reports are good. So I asked what's the problem then, she said "looks like could be infection so she gave me couple injections and few meds (antibiotic) Next morning we did ultrasound and found out there was no infection it was a totally different issue. Like wow I was given unnecessary meds, wasted my night. Like if she wasn't sure what's wrong she could've just wait until running ultrasound before jumping to any conclusions

Been in and out of here for months for healthcare due to cancer. Been here many times over the he last two years for other family care. Had surgery four days ago. Still here recovering at the time of writing this. In my experiences here, staff had throughout have been amazing. Intake staff are often l less pleasant than other staff. Sets a tone for some checking in I suppose. After interaction with nearly a dozen nurses, I see people motivated by providing real care. All my questions have been answered in processes and attention to my needs has been solid. I have seen some concern for cleanliness, many improvements can be made by housekeeping and maintenance, but it starts with quality leadership in the those areas. Agreed that additional security measures could be put into place. Some of the riff raff and resulting filth at the emergency entrance is aweful and must be intimidating for many people entering the hospital. It's not a good introduction to any business. No smoking zones have been ignored/not enforced for years. Food is the number one medicine the human body needs. Yet hospitals, like this one drastically fail in this key need. Found this across Canada.

St.Paul’s Hospital is the best hospital in this city. I have never had a bad experience there. I remember when I was a kid and I had my tonsils taken out and had to stay there for 2 nights. I was scared and my parents couldn’t be there the whole time so the staff were always there making sure I was ok. I got a lot of popsicles from the nurses lol. I have also spent a lot of time in this hospital back in 2007 where all the cancer patients are. My mom was hospitalized for months as we couldn’t take care of her anymore at home because she got so sick. So everyday I spent there with her and the staff were very kind and helpful. I couldn’t have asked for a better hospital to take care of her till her last breath. I appreciate everything they did for my mom. About 2 months ago I twisted my ankle while walking my dog so I went to St. Paul’s to get it looked at. The wait time was very short, the nurses were great, the doctor was excellent and now my ankle is all better.

I went in at 10:45pm for what I was told by a nurse at 811 is a potential complication with my kidneys from some previous meds I was taking for a uti. When I arrived, I was told I didn’t have to pay parking, then another guy said I had to, so I paid for $10 parking. After which I was told I indeed didn’t have to pay parking. Long story short, only 3 persons where in the waiting area and yet I had to wait for over 2 hours to see a dr. At which point they took me to the inside to see a nurse who ordered a urine test. I had to wait another hour for the results. Then I was ordered to do a blood test, and wait almost 2 hours for the result. I got one result before the other and the dr said it seemed as if nothing was wrong. I was literally the only patient there and it took forever to get anything done! So I wasted the whole night to be told to go home. I was given a prescription to take if I was still feeling sick with my current one. I can’t imagine how long I would’ve been there if 10/15 persons were ahead of me. I left at around 3:30ish. The slowest place! Not to mention how sketchy the whole area was. Patients and random guys in backpacks keep coming in and out of hospital just taking a look then leaving. Security doesn’t top them and ask any questions. I was on edge the whole time.

The Official Sikris

Pretty building, but calling it a hospital is a bit of a stretch considering they can't admit anyone.

Amazing hospital and staff! Very good experience here with surgery and other visits. The down side is the area it is in. It seemed quite unsafe, especially after dark.

Meri J. Joaquin

This hospital is a joke ! Rude doctors and nurses get some respect for ppl ! Seriously do your dam job ! Or don't be a doctor or a nurse !!!!!!!

Kelvin Gieselman

Parking is very expensive they need to have some compassion the people using the parking lots have enough stress of having loved ones in the hospital . If hospitals need to raise money take it from upper management they make way to much money anyways.

Mark H

I had a splenic rupture back in June. Stayed at the hospital for 4 days. I was seen by the best doctors and nurses and amazing staff. Thank you to everyone who helped me out❤️

Spent the night at st Paul's tonight. It's the first time I've had to come to this hospital as I live the other side of the city. I will be honest I didn't want to come here but my doctor referred me. I was nervous as I've heard only the bad things about this place. On arrival I immediately noticed how run down it is in a&e. There was not alot of people ahead of me I think 3 maybe 4. The nurse was dealing with a lady who needed urgent care but within 5 mins she came over to me. The nurses are amazing. Very kind polite and caring. I was in a room within 15 mins of arriving. The doctors and nurses are very attentive and empathetic. Something I've found to be lacking in a lot of the ruh staff. I will definitely use this hospital over ruh in the future.

Altaf Masood

Rude staff, will not even let me finish my sentence to ask about the appointment for my mother. I'm a physician myself and am really disappointed with the office staff and how they deal with the clients!

Kyron Giroux

Garth Hilker

Terrible hospital. There are a few good nurses but otherwise the staff is rude, won’t give medications on time because they don’t want to even though the doctor ordered it that way. Homecare threw away an item of mine that cost $80 and all they said is too bad. I really hate coming here. They stress me out and make me feel worse more than anything.

E E

Been going to this hospital for 2 years for treatment so sick of being ask to buy drugs or if I have money to give. Security needs to be at the front door , I've seen a girl demand a stranger to buy her coffee and then continued to ask everyone for money, its ugly going to hospital and seeing a drug deal go down .. security is no where they just sit in the back by emergency. Nothing has changed

Worst hospital ever. Waited too long for 3 hours.

Dallas Wilm

Horrible experience had very rude nurses and doctors in the emergency working there lieing saying i was suicidal for an accidental overdose which wasn't the case in the meantime i was trying to fight this form that goes againt my wishes saying i couldnt leave very dishonest. They had security tie me to my own bed for a half hour before discharging me very inappropriate work skills i thoght after i was told to leave very rudley and to not come back i was shocked for an accidental overdose i thought the fleet would be more caring anyhow survived warning everyone that this hospital ER treated me like an animal and would recommend going to the other two hospitals in the city for medical needs i dont want anyone treated like i was that night

Luke H

Yasir Ali, I also went to St Paul's with an ear infection and experienced the same things. They discharged me without a health plan and follow up information. Only go see your GP in 1 week if the ear is still in pain. Your should make a complaint because this is a poor facility.

Best hospital in Saskatoon. Clean, quick and awesome staff.

This was the worst hospital you will ever go in your lifetime the nurses are so rude and the waiting timw is about 3 weeks do not recommend this place

Greg Campbell

I would like to say thank you to all the staff for looking after me while I was in the hospital. The deserve a big salute for the work they do

Carter Tutt

The staff I've had the displeasure of dealing with were rude, unhelpful and unwelcoming to say the least. I would rather bleed out than be brought here

For a hospital it's not bad, sometimes the waits are long, however when you do see a doctor you aren't rushed out with a prescription for antibiotics when they prolly won't help anyways, and the doctors I seen were very thorough. The potentially long wait times, and it's location are what causes it to lose two stars, but that being said both reasons aren't directly the hospital itself fault.

Jean GRS

We live in Watrous, my husband had tired to see a doctor at the Emergency in the afternoon where we were refused. I had finished working a 12 hour shift that night to drive him over 1 hour to Saskatoon to St. Paul’s hospital to see someone , we are so pleased with the service we were given.... we got in right away. HUGE Thank- you to Dr. J. Pesenti who was able to treat my husband right away. Very kind & professional.

D Wilson

Location is awful but the staff is top notch.

Zaflo Forseti

Waited 2 hours with chest pain and an empty waiting room. Pain subsided. Left and went to the medi clinic the next morning. They dont care about patients, jusy keeping you there to fill the room so it looks busy when others come in. Dont waste your time. Go to RUH

Brennen Barton

Unreasonably long wait times and very unorganized staff, I had to wait 5 hours because the staff lost my information sheet

Braden Flavel

Went into Emergency with bad abdominal pain, had to have an emergency appendectomy. Every member of staff I encountered was absolutely fantastic, made the whole ordeal that much easier to deal with.

Lucky Ali

Saskatoons most grosse hospital ever. Nothing can be done nor will be done at this filthy place. This hospital is in serious need of help.

Ruby Kahpeepatow

My husband been in this hospital in and out and I appreciate how they take good care of him ❤

The nurses and doctors here are amazing. However, the drunkards and bums at the entrance is a whole other story. Security and the grounds keepers should be working hand in hand to clean the trash from that facility! What a horrible disgrace! Repulsive actually!

Norma Johnson

I would like to say a great Big Thank you to Donna the ER nurse,Greg the RN, and the wonderful doctor that just happened to be there at that time. I was on vacation in your wonderful city and got bite by some bug . Worried I went to see a pharmacist who said it would be best if I went to your walk in clinic which at 930 at night were closed so off to St. Paul's we we wonderful and we were able to finish our vacation in Saskatchewan. Wonderful hospital and staff.nt where they were able to help me in 20 mins. They were all so

The non smoking area is so full of smoke it's hard to walk through it. The entrance inside the hospital smells of smoke. The bathroom needs more care. The 5th floor is the worst bathroom for toilet paper and hand towels. There has never been any hand sanitizer in the machine at the 5th floor elevators even though they want you to use it due to a virus in the hospital. The sani wipes have been out for a couple of days and now more containers are out. Other than sanitary problems the nurses are great the care is good, just bring your own disinfectant and if you're allergic to smoke, that a alternate entrance into the hospital.

I had to go into the emergency room twice in a week . As I have major stomach issues from a surgery I had years ago...I suffer with chronic nausea and pain ..there is really no cure to help me other than being medicated...I went there last night nov 13th and was treated like I was a drug addict no bedside manner or care in the world of how intense my nausea and pain was...they gave me only non narcotic meds .I was continuously vomiting and I was only given basically gaviscon and some other medication that had nothing to do with my illness they just kept telling me that's all I'm getting so I left. they were the worst nurses on duty that night ...all they did was sit around laugh and convers with one another rather than treat their patients with comfort and care...they walk into the room looking as though they were incredibly unhappy and grouchy...I get nurses are over worked but let's not forget that when a patient is very sick good beside manner goes a long way rather than feeling like a burden or someone off the street addicted...also I was admitted to st. Paul's about 3 months ago and was placed in a semi private room with a male who was very verbally abusive towards me and I felt very threatened....the staff in the emergency are extremely unwelcoming very unhappy with their jobs and dont care how it makes their patients feel...absolutely horrible...

Abel S

This will be the toughest review,, the staff here are the absolute best, they do what they need to do, if you need the help from here. They WILL see to your emergency needs, don't doubt the people working at this hospital, understaffed, but everyone here still attend to people's needs

i had chest infection and couldn't breathe properly. They said my vitals were good and just wait at the waiting room. I waited for 4 hrs and watch the patients go inside but i was there first. I asked them how long is it till my turn. they said they're just taking patients in first with "more serious" injury or illness. So, I just went home and didn't get checked up.

Tim Stahl

It's absolutely disgusting how they treat patients there took my wife there to the ER 1 in the morning if my wife wasn't in pain we would have left they wouldn't let me go in with her for support very immature nurses can't belive they got these jobs TRYING to FORCE my wife into taking the vaccine guilt tripping her wit saying what if your kids grew up witout a mom and the nurse her self was stuttering sweating very ill walked like a zombie shivering saying look at me i have the vaccine nothing is wrong with me very immature but the rest of the nurses that helped my wife from that point on deserves 5 out of 5 stars they were wonderful help

I went to the ER with a burning pain in my lower abdomen. I gave all my info at the ER- waited then had blood taken- waited, then went back to a bed and had vitals taken by a nurse, she also asked questions. I then saw Dr Schanna Vandekamp. She asked questions- gave me an abdominal X-ray said that my blood was unremarkable and was just going to send me home with a script for laxative. She came back and said she changed her mind- agreeing with me that there was something- she told me to come back at 8:30 am for a CT scan. After the scan, I waited for a few hours then was called to the back again. This time another doctor said they found a clot in one of my pelvic veins- it was very rare and emergent. Later that day Dr Vandekamp called my cell- asked how I was and I told her she saved my life and to never ignore her “gut instinct” she is my hero! Thanks St Paul’s for the excellent care I received!

Not Sorry Lol

Disgusting and dirty waiting room! Location has lots to do with the complacent nurses attitudes! I will drive across the city from now on to RUH for proper care! Now that I know that people are just a another statistic! There are good people out there who seek proper medical care, not to be treated like a local yokle! No wonder people say what they say about this place!

Shay D

3 stars cause I got in so fast next to no time waiting. Which was great Front people at the reception could use some work, especially at emergency where you know, most people are coming because they are in pain . I was in severe pain and didn’t need to feel like I was being judged. After that, All the nurses and doctors were awesome

This is the worst hospital I have ever seen!!The staff is rude and uneducated and the hospital is grossly dirty. My dad went in for basic surgery and was sent home early then the hospital did not set up home care and when that was straightened out he had to be rushed back in for sepsis and another infection. Has been there for a week and the staff is rude. Three nurses tried to put in an iv and were not wearing gloves then once they got the iv in there was blood on the radiator and wall beside the bed and on the blanket on the bed and they all just left it. I had to ask them to wipe it up and then they did so with no gloves again. Went in the morning to visit and there was urine on the floor out side the elevator and at 5pm when I left it was still there but they had put a wet floor sign next to it (so gross) Call to get an update on what is happening and the nurses have no idea or give the wrong information and don't even know the basic condition that are in his file. I am having my dad transferred out of this hospital and he will not be going back

Tyler Cole

It is a hospital how entettaining can it be

richard sperrin

Worst hospital i've ever seen. It's more like a prison.Very rude staff , security people who change the rules by the minute and are fast to anger at anyone who does not listen to them. People sitting for hour's waiting to be cared for , and when they get upset for feeling like they are forgotten the guard's are more than happy to escort the offender out.Right into the hands of the people that seem to just hang around and smoke and use there free wifi and beg for stuff from people who are just trying to visit a sick relative or friend. Im glad my father has been moved from that prison atmosphere. Some one need's to look at what the staff is doing and make corrections for the rude way they treat sick people and visitor's.

I have nothing but praise and gratitude for the courtesy, care and attentiveness extended to me during my day-surgery appointment for vascular surgery on June 13th, 2012. My reception and processing at the admitting department was exemplary, as was the attentiveness at the day-surgery unit. The interlude prior to going to the operating unit was relaxed, supportive and informative. Pre-op briefing with the OR nurse, surgeon and anaestheologist was most professional, enlightening and helpful. Likewise all post-op phases conducted with sensitivity and encouragement. Consequently my whole experience was stress free and an excellent foundation for positive outcomes. To all concerned at St. Paul's Hospital, Saskatoon: "Well done, good and faithful servants."

Abby

called to make appointment about submitting lab work. Appointment was made and be told anytime on that day is good to submit. When arrived at the hospital they said appointment need to be made and they will only allow submit before 10am. Were let in afterwards. Staff working here are not professional nor know well about their own policy.

Stephanie Arthurs

Worst care I have ever experienced. Place is dirty and the nurses provide zero to little care for their patients well being. It took four (very painful) attempts from four different registered nurses to get my IV in, something that in the past has not been an issue at other hospitals. The wait times are another story...I was brought into the hospital at 12pm and told by my family physician that I would need emergency surgery to get my gallbladder out. On arrival I was put into a room and told not to eat or drink anything. I had been previously fasting the day before in order to get an ultrasound completed. So all in all I had been fasting for 1 1/2 days. By 10pm they said the doctors would let me know the verdict on if I could eat something but still nothing came about when 10pm hit. Whe my boyfriend asked if I could eat anything the nurse replied “she’s not going to starve”. So I am currently still waiting for surgery in emergency and this will bring on the third day of fasting or not being given water or information regarding my surgery or health. I can’t even think of one good thing to say about this place.

Austin Maves

Awful service. Emergency rooms are always by severity, that's fine. But we've been waiting 5 hours for an X-ray on a broken ankle. The doctors came out, removed our tenser bandages and told us an Xray would be needed. Then he just left, it's been an hour since and some little girl who also had a potential break got brought in after 20 minutes. We've been offered no pain medication nor were we given an explanation as to where the first doctor has went. This place is a perfect example of what a hospital shouldn't be.

Ally Gassner - Marriott

I took my daughter in late one night and I couldn't have asked for better. Every single employee was fabulous from the security guard, admissions ladies, nurses and doctors . We were well looked after and were in and out in 2 hours. I may be one of few but I've never had a bad exprience in the 5 times I've unfortunately needed to be there!

My husband had an appointment today at St. Paul's. He uses a scooter for mobility. When I picked him up at the Admitting/Emerg Entrance, the lift to our van would not work - failed electrical (?). Two young, strong Security Guards came to our rescue. They manually loaded the scooter so we could take it home and then for repair. They were pleasant, polite and so very helpful. They went above and beyond and are incredible ambassadors for St. Paul's. Unfortunately, we didn't get their names, but they left two white-haired seniors feeling safe and cared for. Thanks, Guys.

Paula Archibald

On Sept 13 I had emergency gallbladder surgery at St Paul's. Dr Graham was an excellent surgeon. He put me at ease in the operating room when I met him. Dr Wiebe was so very funny and helpful to me before my surgery. He explained what was going to happen to me in such a professional and caring and humorous way. He eased my worry about having surgery. His drawing of the gallbladder was a great help too and his explanation. The whole surgical team was great. There were a couple young female doctors who were sooo nice too - I am sorry I can't remember their names. The staff at St Paul's was excellent. I had great care there. I would highly recommend St Paul's. The RN's were very funny and very nice. I love the spiritual aspect of St. Paul's too. The prayer over the loudspeaker at night and in the morning and the crucifixes on the walls.

Family member in hospital and has had very good care. Our main concern is the safety of the hospital. People crowding front entrance, smoking in our faces and not there for treatment but a place for warmth in winter and just a hangout for a lot of undesirables. There is a recording on a speaker asking people not to smoke and that is ridiculous! Clean this hospital up!

Spent 4 days on 5th floor both in observation and then on the ward station number 1. Must have had 10 to 15 different nurses during my stay, every one of them were like Angel's, the compation, carrying and patience they gave to me and everyone else was unbelievable, don't know what they get paid but it is not enought. Thank you with all my heart. Love you all.
