(Translated) I live here, the staff is very nice when I start screaming ..... I'm glad I tried to kill myself and I came here ???? (Original) Ja zivim ovde, osoblje je veoma fino kada pocnem da vristim .....drago mi je sto sam pokusala da se ubijem I sto sam dosla ovde ????
As someone with chronic pain and and mother with MS, we choose City Hospital every chance we get. Yes, in the 25 years that I've gone through the ER with my mother and the 5 years of dealing with my pain we've had various wait levels, but I understand what triage actually means. The staff at City are amazing! There's been the odd less than ideal interaction but if I had the job of working triage or anywhere in the ER, I'd have trouble staying pleasant 12+ hours a day. Take the 1 star reviews with a grain of salt. No, I'm not a nurse or a medical professional, I just have spent a lot of time going through the triage process and the ER. Be thankful you aren't paying $12,000 out of pocket for a broken bone. Giving a hospital 1 star? Are you kidding?!
Had my very first surgery at this hospital. I was so scared to be put under but the nurses and Dr's were very understanding and patient with me and assured me I would be okay. They kept my guardian updates and were all very pleasant!
Very organized!
Was here for an early morning operation a while back. The hospital was really quiet. Staff did their jobs quickly, and were very kind and knowledgeable. They were thorough with their checks and ensured I was comfortable at all times. It all went very smoothly, and it was a good experience overall.

Was here to have my gallbladder removed. The staff were very nice and helped calm me down. I was even allowed help from a wheelchair to leave the building post surgery.
Staff are for the most part pretty awesome. My wife has had a couple surgeries and my sister inlaw as well. You are helped and made comfortable (as well as you can after surgery) the entire stay. You can park free during the day for a couple hours on 7th Avenue across the street, 6pm till 9am free anyways. Not in a sketchy location like St . Pauls and better parking/walking distance than University. Cleanest of the 3 hospitals. We have also had other things done at City Hospital and the wait to get in wasn't very long. I went in for day surgery to get a tumor removed from my collar bone and I was in and out in an hour. When I had to see the surgeon for 2 minutes at University Hospital to book the surgery it took 3 times that long and had to walk half a mile from my parking spot in the paid parking.
DO NOT GO TO CITY HOSPITAL. The doctors will tell you one thing, then the admitting nurses at the emerg desk will tell you something completely different. Sat in emerg for 8 hours, doctor AND nurse told me I had an appointment at 9:00am the next day for CT scan, so got there for nine am. Nurses at the emerg desk didn’t have ANY of my information, and expected me to wait in the emerg line again for another how many more hours. Definitely do not recommend. Not super impressed and will be calling on Monday to make a complaint to the heath authority.
From my limited experience, this seems like a good place to die. Although, it is better than Saint Paul's.
Nurses are not too friendly
Friendly people!
The service was friendly and efficient.
It's clean and people are polite.
stupid staff.
Nice place, very nice actually I love the elevator it is very cool place here
It's okay my wife is in the room right now she just got a operation on her nee
One time I was having a panic attack and was having severe chest pain so I drove myself to City hospital as it was closest, only to find out that it had already closed. I was hoping that I'd still be able to get some help as I was really scared and in a lot of pain, so I entered through a side door that wasn't latched. I was surprised at the lack of care for security. I wandered through the hospital and found absolutely no one. I exited through a door to an outdoor smoking area where a bunch of nurses were smoking and none of them said anything to me as I squeezed through a space in a chain link fence and went home. I think I was so weirded out by this odd experience that my panic attack eased off significantly. I had no idea that this place closes at 9pm, which is very dissapointing- I wish I could've gotten the help that I needed.
Good hospital
My wife went into day surgery today. Doctor Sielski the anesthesiologist Gerard and the nurses Tayler and Libby were all awesome. Other nurses on the 4th floor that my wife couldn't remember the name of we're also excellent. My family and I are very grateful for the help the staff provided.
I wanna say a big thank you to the nurses that took care of me May 4 2017 after my surgery. Kim Len Evangeline you guys are awesome. Thanks a million????
I was waiting in the emergency for more than 2 hours. How slow are they? I was there for an emergency help not to wait for dying. If they can’t help you when you are sick then they should close there emergency services.
Staff were Terrific

Flying over City Hospital. Kind of handy if we crash ha ha.
Emergency here means not urgent. Let the patient wait

Yesterday I went through Emerg at Saskatoon City Hospital. Everyone that had to deal with me was fantastic. All were so patient, thorough, and so empathetic during this hard time. Even though I was going through a depressing circumstance, the staff made me laugh and it was not such a bad time. Thank you for all that you do.
Inconsistent. Especially in the emergency department. Either they are well staffed and you get in instantly in the emergency, cared for and all or...you show up 3 days before Christmas with an emergency and not one doctor is around and the hospital is practically a ghost town with 3 grumpy nurses. Emergency one day I was treated and tested but never got the results which they were supposed to call me to tell me. That didn't happen. Recently went to emergency and it was enough for me to slam the door on my way out. There was 4 nurses and no doctors. I waited 1hr to get called from the waiting area to a room. There was other ppl waiting as well. Some worse than others. I waited in a cold room for 4hrs. Not one nurse came to say sorry for the wait. I paced the halls and the hospital was dead besides for the patients waiting in the other rooms complaining. I didn't have a bed but rather a dentist's/hairdressers chair. There was no cups for water anywhere. The equipment in the room was from the 70s and I took pictures to prove how behind our government is with updating the healthcare system. I waited and waited. I went out to ask a nurse where I could get something to eat or drink and they brushed me off... I was standing there shocked. I could have gotten treated faster and better at a ****ing vet clinic. I went to get soup from the cafeteria and no one said Hi or Merry Christmas. They didn't speak English at all. I asked them questions about the food/menu and they couldn't understand me. I spoke clear English and there was no response. By this point I got very frustrated but still was nice to them and I said Merry Christmas but no response. It didn't feel like a hospital. I ended up telling one of the nurses I was leaving, I mentioned how much of a joke it was waiting for close to 6hrs and they didn't say sorry...just a simple "Okay". None of the other patients in the other rooms had been attended to either... I went around talking to them and everyone was wondering what was going on. If I was dying I would be dead. I seriously do not want to ever go back there. But it's hit and miss that's the thing...how can anyone trust that? If I came in with a arm cut off they would say wait there while I bleed out. ****ing pathetic. They should be ashamed.
MILLION TIMES CLEANER FRIENDLIER AND STAFF ORIENTED... UNIVERSITY HOSP SUCKS!! BUILD A NEW HOSPITAL ON THE EAST FIELD OF PRESTON.. FARM LAND.. BILLIONS MORE U WILL MAKE WITH A HOSPITAL THERE..
Nurse almost starved me to death, ended up crying and leaving
Took my mom there who was visiting at the time. There were 2 people in the whole emergency room and yet still there was a wait. There were three nurses at triage, no appeared to be doing noting at all while the other two were chatting away like they were on a break. My mom was finally called up and the nurse was literally shouting at the top of her voice so the whole room could hear my moms private medical details. I had to ask the nurse to speak quieter???Before my mom could even finish speaking with the triage nurse, another nurse walked over and shouted "ARE YOU DONE YET, WE HAVE OTHER PATIENTS TO SEE" It had been 5 mins and there were 2 people waiting in the ER. I cannot even comprehend such lack of respect for patients and poor service. Shame on the Health Region for allowing for managing this facility poorly.
Wound up in emergency on a Saturday afternoon. Extremely professional and pleasant staff!
Haven't posted reviews yet with this email so just wanted to say my recent experiences with this hospital were really good actually. I know there are some bad reviews but we had amazing doctors, nurses and other staff for our family member.
This is my favourite hospital
Got immediate assistance for a critical emergency health situation. Great help and service. Keep working greatly.
I have had a major operation here at the end of last year. I can't find fault with anyone or anything. If you must be in hospital this is the place to be!
It is a typical hospital
The Doctors and Nurses and staff are unbeatable they are so good with the patience Thank You guys very much For looking after Betty so good
SUPER friendly staff. Everyone from triage to the ER Dr were so nice. They only lost a star because of wait time, not the staffs fault, but took about 4 hours to get looked at
You can’t drop anyone off in main door cause 100000 cabs that sit there take all up all the circle drop off..... rest of public need spots too drop off people too ... have 3 or4 cabs there is fine but the whole circle is full like really ????????????????????
I just came home from day surgery at City Hospital, where I received stellar care from the nurses to the anesthesiologist and my Doctor. Kudos to your staff and organization during these tough times. Thanks so much, Ellen Henderson
Was at the emergency today.Website should 30 minute wait.Eas there for 3 hours.Doctor came in and looked at me.Said he was sending in a prescription for and then never did.Dr was a total jerk.
A best place to visit any time.
If this was possible, I would have give it a zero out of 5 stars, I cannot possibly imagine if this is call a good health care. I went to the hospital with my dad because he's back hurt. And we have to register first, and there was only one person before us, but we waited almost one hour to registe. Then we moved in a patient room, we waited almost another hour for the doctor to come. Since my dad does not sure if his bone has problem, so the doctor told us to take a xray. Then? another hour of waiting! Finally we finish the x ray,we went back to the room, and then the doctor was having a free chat with other staffs. At the end, my dad did not get any help, but wasted hours of time. My dad told me last time he had stomach problem, he could not eat and he went to the hospital, the doctor told him to examine his blood, so he waited, then the doctor said come back to the hospital in 10 days. Now I know why people said here is a good place to die. Thank you so i learn how to be patient, thank you so i know how rude people can be, so i dont have to hate on anyone else.
I was a patient at the hospital for a knee replacement. The staff is attentive, and kind. Regarding food services I am Celiac, and require a gluten free diet. The food was good. I have 2 comments. If you purchase Quick Oats it does not have gluten bu some t instant oatmeal does. Quick Oats is as simple and quick. Why if there are gluten free options for oatmeal is my only choice for hot cereal is cornmeal? As well I do not care if it is frozen, I will not feel good about eating a cupcake, labelled made, in 2017. ( I have a pic). Thanks for a well run hospital.
Hospital newest one in Saskatoon
busy busy, but the service was still caring. kind people under lots of pressure
Nice hospital
Nice
Truely the best hospital in the city from my experiences. Kind, compationate staff who truely act like they enjoy their jobs and are so polite. I haven't had ridiculously long wait times in my few experiences but even if i did, i wouldn't mind because the staff has been so great.
I waited 4 hours to get in on a Sunday which is fine. Just needed xrays and blood work done and i still havnt gotten my results or have been seen by anyone in the past 2 hours. ???? for Canada's “free” healthcare
Friendly staff, I was well taken care of when I went for surgery. Parking on the other hand is expensive.
If you want to wait in an uncomfortable room and wait to die this is a great place. Horrible service. Went in with chest pains and trouble breathing and waited for 2 hours not getting checked up on once.
I was there today and the young lady that was in charge of my MRI at 430pm was a very kind, sensitive, passionate about her job and compassionate with her patient, she was a complete angel, she deserves the acknowledgement. Thank you.???????? There was also the young lady at reception that was friendly and pleasant, always nice to talk to people that are friendly and kind, unlike the ones that don't care about the people they are suppose to help and are just there for the paycheck.
I had day surgery May 18. The staff are amazing and put me at ease. Their sense of humour alleviated my anxiety. My anesthesiologist called me the next day to see how I was doing. I highly recommend Saskatoon City Hospital.
I was here twice and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
The team at the breast health clinic were amazing and kind.
I had a hip replaced. The pre surgery orientation was thoughtful and caring from the physio to the anaesthetist. Also very efficient to give each patient an office and then surgery team circulated. Post surgical care was also very caring. Food was okay too. One dizzy individual took me down to X-ray without the paperwork. Then after it was found it disappeared again for 20 minutes after the X-ray. Other than that it could not have been better. I have had other major surgeries at other stoon hospitals that were not very good.
I usually go there for an emergency because they are fast and very good. I went there on Saturday and spent the whole afternoon there. The nurse gave me a needle in my arm for pain, which did not work at all. The pain was in my rear thigh with a sciatic nerve problem. She did not even put a bandage on it, and the bleeding went right through an expensive white collared shirt. Maybe they were just having a bad day, however, they really accomplished nothing. The doctor did do his job well, and I will return and try them again.
Went to this hospital yesterday with a horrible case of the flu. Both nurses I interacted with had incredible bedside manner, and the doctor who saw me was very thorough and knowledgeable. He did multiple tests to make sure I was getting the help I needed, thank you for your help when I so very needed it.
New pay parking system is a joke. Have to estimate how much time you will be there. If you overestimate it's just free money for the hospital. Go back to paying at exit and pay for what you actually use!
They treated me very well.
What a wonderful place to have an operation!! The whole place is light and sunshiney, even the operating room, and the room that they revive you after surgery, that's all windows, too, and the patient rooms have lovely huge windows looking out over a beautiful park!! My mom was in here for awhile, and I could take her to the park in a wheelchair, so lovely, the nurses are generally pretty kind and caring!! I think its an awesome place!!
