I dnt knw whether I shuld call this racisim or shortage of doctors where patient with severe stomach ache gets no treatment or checkup who waits for 5 hrs in emergency room and then leaves it by being told good luck from "staff"... better not come to this butcher shop.... Nurses n staff just emphasizes on paper works and has no knowledge at all.. Believe me,A nurse that i oberved wen i was there,was checking blood pressure of guy with cut on his right eye..imagine where is eye and what she was doing 2 keep her self busy n charge govt that thy kept patient for that long.... Buchers!!!!

Regina General hospital is the main hospital in town, and in my opinion the only one you should go to if you need health treatment. Been there a few time in different departments and was happy with the care and the way things works. The mother baby unit is wonderful! Gave birth not long ago and was very happy, privet rooms, the staff are wonderful and give you all you need, and make you feel important. If you’re going to the ER know that the waiting time is terrible! It’s hours of waiting even when there’s not a big line, been there a few days ago again- was the only one in the waiting room (got to a room Farley fast bit than was waiting 2.5 hours to see the doctor. The best time to go and avoid big lines are 4-7 am.

ER staff aren't friendly and they don't want to hear any complaints from patients. They talk to the patient with hate face and if they were disgusted from everyone and everyone is anxious. And that makes me wonder how they respond to a life or death cases? Nurses are the mercy angles we learned that they supposed to be full of care and strength and mercy and kinds . In that ER nothing but hate and crazy staff

My daughter gave birth in this hospital .. Her room had cockroaches . We got home and pulled out the items we had taken to the hospital and a bedbug crawled out of a baby blanket. There was no soap in the bathroom for my daughter to bathe with, the chair/bed was all ripped up and so worn down it was so uncomfortable I couldn't imagine a grown man trying to get rest. The staff were very different depending on the nurse some were nice and very helpful while others seemed rude and very distant, The door on her room had a rubber glove taped over the latch because the door would not stay closed and her recovery bed was so old the center was just a crater with little support. I would have expected more considering this is the only hospital to deliver baby's in for not only the city but rual folks as well. I'd recommend getting a midwife and having your baby at home.

I called the ER after my 3 year old grandson fell from the top of an 8-9ft slide landing on the last stair on his neck to let them know he had been moved and we were on route to them. When I arrived and let them know who I was, they had a whole trauma team at my vehicle immediately stabilizing him and preparing to move him safely. They worked steady to determine level of injury so they could see what was next. They worked together like strong team supporting each other and making it look effortless. They were compassionate, empathetic and informative. I knew each step of the plan. They worked hard to help him work through the trauma. They were our angels today. They had to cut his clothes off but they even found Something for him to wear home including slippers. I don't usually rave about hospitals because nobody wants to be there but I'm glad they were. Thank you for helping us so completely, especially when we are in such trying times you have us 110%. We appreciate you and your service. ❤❤

My wife has a severe pain at the back of her neck, suspected a nerve issue.. Been registered at RGH around 3:45pm, get her vitals then wait in waiting area. Accomodated and called to move to room at 9:30pm,, again did the vitals,,, as of this writing 12:18 am the following day,,, still waiting for the doctor,,, asked one nurse,, she only answered... "doctors are busy"... i just whispered.. MY GOD!..

Honestly i was disappointed, wife was sent to the emergency unit, and we had to wait for 3hrs and my wife was getting dizzy and weak due to a miscarriage, before we saw the Dr. So much for emergency... To top it off the attitude of their health care support staff was irritating, next to zero customer service care.... My expectations were drowned with this unfortunate happenings..

I went to the emergency room for excrutiating back pain. I couldn't stand, could barely move, could only take sharp, quick breaths, and could hardly speak from the pain. I told them my pain was at a 9/10. I then proceeded to sit in the waiting room for two hours before they wheeled me to a bed, where I sat agonizing for another 2 hours with no one so much as checking on me. I begged a nurse walking by to give me something for the pain and all I got was "yeah, we'll be there when we can". Another hour passes before a doctor finally shows up. At this point i'm writhing on the bed experiencing the worst pain i've ever felt in my life. I'm unable to speak or breath. The doctor just stands there staring at me. Then proceeds to ask me dumb questions that I have no way of answering, such as "did you fall?", "are you going to vomit?" "Are you peeing normally?", "Are you sure you didn't fall?". The people with me answered her questions, she took my blood pressure twice, then told me she would get me something for the pain. Another 40 minutes passes before a nurse shows up with an assortment of pills for me to take. The doctor then comes back with a prescription for a muscle relaxant, and advises I get massage therapy. I told her this has happened 4 times prior to this incident. It didn't seem to matter. They were perfectly content with round 5 of "here's a muscle relaxant. See you next year". Through the entire night, no one took seriously the amount of pain I was in, there were multiple people who came in after me that got a bed before I did, and the amount of time I had to spend in agonizing pain was completely unnecessary.

Infamously terrible at handling mental health. This hospital is directly responsible for AT LEAST 1 recent COMPLETELY PREVENTABLE death (Samwel Uko was turned away from the hospital after begging for help, and committed suicide the same day). The wait times are also beyond ridiculous even for Canada’s stereotypical wait times. This is directly due to the atrociously unorganized nursing staff and doctors. There are many situations where patients will sit waiting for upwards of an hour for things as simple as dressing and bandages. It’s mind boggling. The only arguably adequate part of this hospital is the children’s unit as I also have experience with them and they were great with my son.

Staff is pretty good but wait times are too long (but good enough for a Hosptial. Staff are usually pretty good and accommodating. I have only had one issue with them and that was when I was registering to get blood work done a while ago. The receptionist was rude upon approaching her, but after awhile let up after a a friendly talk. (Pro tip- try to stay happy and positive when you’re dealing with someone whose having a rough day, sometimes it’s nothing to do with you and your approach to the matter can help change they’re view on the day.

Pretty sure since Covid came it's improved! Streamlined, less wait time instead of 30 people packed in the waiting room pre surgery there was 5 of us. Instead of me waiting 2.5 hours after my scheduled time I was in 15 minutes late. Huge improvements!! So far I have been there once at emergency, had 2 surgery, one endoscopy, twice in the diabetes clinic and twice in sleep clinic. I have nothing to complain. Specially nurses here are simply awesome. So friendly and helpful. I have hospital experience in 3 different provinces in Canada and RGH is definitely the best by far. Not sure why rating is so poor....

Worse hospital ever I seen in my life. For just simple problem like diarrhea, I have been waited for 6 hours 25 min to get physician mean while I loose lot of water from my body. Because of that it tooks me 3 days to recover. More over, Looks like Dr. Has not enough knowledge. I suggest not to go to hospital just drink lot of water with glucose in it. Have some fresh fruit juice to get enough energy during this time. Staffs on front desk was rude. They don’t knowhow to talk with patients.

Have been to the general on numerous occasions. Have had mostly great experiences. I have had help from everything from stroke ward and physio to sleep clinic and the mother-baby unit to the children's ward when my son broke his leg and the mri and hematology areas. 99% of the time it's been great. Very caring staff. Clean and bright rooms. Expert care. Going the extra mile to help, especially after my first stroke when I spent six weeks stressed and pregnant and struggling with mobility; without the whole gambit of staff doing the lil extras to keep me laughing and sane I probably would have lost my mind. Emergency can be a wait, but that's to be expected. Would help if people would use emergency for emergencies, but there will always be people that think their stomach ache is too bad to wait and go to a walk in clinic or see their gp. Kudos to the fabulous staff! ♡ × ♡ × ♡

I seen other patients get mistreated in this hospital as well. It's not nice when you see nurses talking about patients and laughing at them. Went to the general hospital (emergency) at around 10:45PM on November 8th to visit someone in emergency. I asked one of the triage employees if it would be possible for me to visit them. She wore glasses and had black hair tied back in a low ponytail (appeared to be phillipeno). She said there was nobody there by that name. The person I was supposed to visit sent me a picture of her bracelet. I showed it to the triage employee, which said, (in the most snobby tone possible) “why are you even asking me ? It says ph right on her bracelet, can’t you see?” I was not aware that ph stood for pasqua hospital on her bracelet and was told by the person I was visiting that they were at the general. Regardless, the disrespect I experienced was unacceptable. People who act in such a way as the triage employee did should not be employed at a hospital. I refuse to go to the general hospital from now on. I’ll choose the Pasqua hospital any day.

Father in law is in the ICU with covid and many of the nurses have been nothing but insensitive and rude the entire him he has been in there. Constantly complaining, on there phones, and just being straight up rude to us when we go to see him. Last night they told my wife that they will be transferring him to lloydminister or PA when he’s still on the ventilator and the nurse told her “you have no say in this decision. It’s our choice” so my wife was obviously upset and was questioning why they would transfer someone that can’t breathe on their own and the nurse replies “ Do you want him to live or do you want him to die”

By far the worst organized hospital I have ever been to. Poor service and compassion skills, poor quality. Not to mention failure to inform and or disclose side effects of medicine they give you nor did they tell us what medication they were providing for pain or for actual medicine. If I could give this hospital negative 10 stars I would. The wait is ridiculous and they do not go by a priority list in the emergency room as people with sprained ankles were getting in before some women about to deliver. We waited for 9 hours with severe symptoms in the waiting room, once we were finally given a room they did not offer a blanket (until the room was freezing and we had requested one) after getting us to change into a hospital gown. We waited hours in our room waiting for a doctor to be able to come by our room. Which after Arving at the hospital at 9:00 we were not able to see a doctor until 6:00. They were by far the most understaffed, disrespectful, lazy, underqualified employees hired by someone who clearly doesn't know how to run a hospital. As bad as it sounds for saying this, The Meadow lake hospital offers by far better service, and my note to anyone who is in need of medical attention I highly recommend that you attend a better hospital else where because to go here the only thing this hospital can give you is an overwhelming amount of disappointment.

Things got started with being scheduled for a procedure, and not being told Why? When i asked people that were prepping me why i was there ask your doctor. When it came time to start IV nurse had to be stopped digging around in my arm, i believe she was trying to stick needle in the bone, at least that is what it felt like . I was informed I was a bad patient because i said something she had a hissy fit oh I havd been doing this for 30 years is what she told me. Second nurse was one for two. Are there not different jobs for people whose skills could use some improving, or upgrading? . I mean why practise on me cadavers wouldn't complain so practise on them. I was informed nothing before I left, and they put me out during procedure. I walked away from the unit and fortunately found someone I recognized coming through the door, I did remember someone saying they called for a ride for me. The people in unit gave me a sandwich and coffee for which I expressed my graditude. The end result was I guess there was nothing wrong and I guess I am supposed to ignore chest pains from here on in. As a business man I long ago realized how important communication is. I didn't have to have someone teach me that, I learned it from my parents. I do not know if the new health region changes has degraded the relationship between patients and health care professionals to this degree, but one thing for sure i am sure they are being paid a premium dollar so try encouraging them to do their job with patients in mind. I will summarize this note with one word, arrogance, it does not translate well to people who are not senile. I am not senile therefore being advised as to what is going on in my body would have been the better approach, I guess it all boils down to one thing, common sense ask yourself if that is how you want to be treated.

Went to RGH on friday. Got in at noon, gowned up right away but waited a solid 4 hours before a doctor even came to talk to me. After an hour of talking with him, he still needed to get a senior doctor to make sure he had everything in check. Finally got my diagnosis, had to get some meds through IV, which the nurse missed the vein or something, because in my entire life, any time I've had needles, I've never bruised and my hand actually hurts to use because it bruised so bad. Hurts to move my fingers. Not impressed.

SWADD needs an overhaul from top to bottom. Why is a placement clerk not advising families on their options for care homes - they just give a list of names and tell families to figure it out. They don't even tell them which ones are subsized based on income. Why would you tell someone Wintergreen is an option ($4000) when the patient only gets $1500 to live on. How is some family that is not trained in medical care supposed to know what questions to ask care home? Shouldn't they advise families PIoneer Village is full of mould and closing down before they choose that place? Or that some of the homes don't accommodate visit from pets? The family only has a few hours to make decision that could affect them forever. Santa Maria had a patient that was assaulted - there is no inspection of nursing homes (all of them have mice). Seniors care in former RQHR is pitiful. There is no guideline on how SWADD determines placement on the magical waiting list - they just blame the family when they aren't happy with their selection expecting them to be investigators themselves. My tip bring a hidden camera with you every tour, every visit to long-term care homes in Regina and area. Remember every government home has 2 care aids for about 50 residents at night.

The facility is in need of some major updating. Seriously, every time I take the elevators I feel like I'm in the movie Final Destination. Went to the emergency here and waited over 3 hours just to get to the internal waiting room. Overall was at the hospital for over 5 hours before seeing a doctor. In total the visit was 8 hours just to find out the foot wasnt broken and get sent home with some morphine. I cannot believe that hospitals can be this inefficient. Read other peoples posts and youll see a trend. There's definitely something wrong with the way they do things here.

Five star treatment, rushed our five year old grandson to the emergency department on Sunday Nov. 17th suffering from severe dog bites to his face. Can not say enough good things about the doctors and nurses in the emergency department. Their care of our little boy was exceptional, the many stitches he received were done with precision and excellence returning our little boys face to us. Thank you, thank you for all your wonderful care and for helping our family through a very difficult time. Took a child to a busy Emergency. They did an exam, blood test, urine test, ultrasound, surgery and had her recovering in a bed on the childrens ward all within seven hours. Amazing staff at every step.

The general hospital is a ok place but there is a lot of bs going on there. Like you go to emergency and you wate for 4 to 6 hours to be seen by a doctor.Then thay are pretty good on how thay help you but then if your put in a room thay just leve you there like a dog. And if you ask for anything you are just ignore and then attude there sucks.Not all of them are like thst some go well beyond to go out of there to help you.So I would have to save all in all.The staff could show a little bit more care then that do.

My clothes were stolen from RGH, while I was under their “care”. That’s at least 500 dollars worth of winter gear. They refused to compensate me for my loss. The doctors are third world class and the nurses are first world class. The management is weakness. Don’t rely on them to keep you safe. One star rating for this Canadian hospital.

My dear brother was in this facility for 6 days...no "nursing" what so ever! Where's their humanity and compassion? Don't want to be a nurse get another job! Not only a indecent lack of attention for my brother but his room was never ever cleaned! Really? Well I hope and pray the neglectful individuals are dealt with the same way and experience what others unfortunately have to contend with at this difficult time..what goes around comes around..that I do believe. Thank heaven above he was transfered and is being attended to appropriately and professionally. Need good staff .. Call me.

Waited 6-1/2 hours, and then had to go hone because the problem was getting WORSE and being home was going to do more good than the hospital visit. The emergency room wait times are insane. Happened last time I went too. Never expect fast service if you’re going here. Not the hospitals fault per say, but our healthcare’s. Nonetheless they seemed disorganized, and had to start switching patients around which increased wait times. Couldn’t get any medication to ease the pain. They lost a patients blue card which made him wait about 10 mins more on top of the 6 hours he was there at LEAST. Overheard another guy say it was 8 hours and ticking for him. Not very covid clean too. So many people and I only saw the seats and waiting room get sanitized once with so many people in and out... not a good experience.

Mental health ward: Fact- You will be very very mad when you get there, your not treated well. Fact- The rules are very odd, for some items you can't have. Fact- Alot of the nurses are very nice. Fact- It will get better by day 3 example.... more freedom. Fact- It is very scary. Or your anxiety will make you feel this way. This is my experience only. First 3 days are hell and a half, don't let this scare you, you are here for a reason. After day 3 you will get more items / freedom If your super lucky you will get Marnelle and Jessie as your nurses. You will get back what you put into the program. I am 5 days in after a failed attempt. I can already feel the anxiety melting away. Hang in there! You are stronger than you think, if not then do the self help books, I promise you will become stronger. I hope you the best of lucky and remember God loves you, be nice to your nurse, take care, thanks for reading.

This hospital is actually pretty good...the hospital is. Whoever is in charge of the outside of the building needs to be strangled in front of their children. The parking and grounds are not. I was wondering where all the crazies were hanging out because you don’t see hundreds walking around downtown any more. There is no security, parking is a mess, and how can there be a smoking area 50 feet from the main entrance? Why is there a smoking area at all??? Maybe they should have to cross the street and smoke in the ghetto that surrounds this place. In closing, good hospital...pathetic grounds.

Now 5 hours emergency room in bed noone even asked about pain. No doctor, nurse said busy. Hey government where has money for health gone. Appointees Gth or??? Finally after 5 1/2 hours some nice lade brought an ice pac. Now 7 hours.no doctor visit yet. Beware if coming here.workingg on 8th hour, girl at tri.desk has no idea when doctor will be seen. New shift nurse came in . Said could be another hour. Doctors in but busy. I guess old people can wait. 7 1/2 hours. Doctor came at 7 1/2. Will run more tests. Now they appear very concerned with more testing.waiting for last test now. staff have been great,excellent when things got moving. Problem appears to be government under funding lack of physicians. Very pleased at end of session. Tests ran fast results quick decisions on results was solid.

Nurses are really helpful and understand the problem.but managment is worst here. I was admitted to pasqua hospital and they transfer me in general hospital after few hrs and getting all tests.when we reach general hospital, they did not transfer in room since 9hrs. I was waiting in lobby with all IVs and other stuff. Doctor did not see me till 26 hrs. I was mad and than doctoe come to see me. Every doctor blaming each other. First say this one is gynocology case and than medicine doctore and than cardio doctor. And still remain mystory for my case. Comminication between two hospital is too poor and doctor even they are not spare time to see result onlinw which was already done in first hospital in couple hrs before

The staff mannerisms and hospitality exceeded my expectations, however the stage 1 bed bug that crawled off my magazine on level 3, did not. Hoping and praying that neither my wife or myself have brought any home with us. A little uncomfortable rating a hospital because it's a place where people get help, but it is a business and their wait times are brutal. It took 4 hours just to finally see a nurse, 5 hours to get 6 stitches, and now 3 wks later my vein where the IV needle was stuck into, and allowed to go dry for a few hours, has hardened.

I was there yesterday on call to meet my obstetrician regarding my 33 weeks twinpregnancy issue. This time i had the worse experience of my life. They sent us to labour and delivery unit we can see through the door nurses that they are laughing and talking and didn't bother to open the door and made us wait. Then there is no coordination between the nurses and the doctors. No body knows nothing. They were asking the same thing again and again with each other however i provided them all the copies of reports, scans and lab results. Wasted our 5 hours without caring that i need to eat something and what is my condition. Obstetrician came even late (almost 1:30 hr)and rude, i mean you know your patient is waiting how can you go on a round specially when it will take only 10 minutes to talk to me.After explaining everything he asked me if I understand what he is saying in english and i dont know what made him think(and why he explained anything) i cant and i found it so Racist. He needs to learn how to talk with his patients. He dis nothing special and repeat the same things i had in my ultrasound a day before. Nurses were talking with each other until i am asking for next step. No body bother to send my urine container yo the lab for an hour and it was sitting in the washroom. Because i asked them if they want me to stay then they sent it. Please be nice to pregnant women they are going through alot already and COVID is making things harder for them too. They need quick attention and services dont make them wait for things they really dont have too specially when families arent allowed to help and support them.Dont keep for things they dont have too may be they have kids at home and there is no one to look after. Be kind and generous towards them. Ask they if they need to eat or drink something. Be attentive to your patients first rather than making them wait when they aren't supposed too, thats why hospital hired you and thats your job.

I have never seen worst service like "General Hospital, Regina". Emergency department is just a name. You have to wait 5 to 6 hours for a doctor. They don't even provide a room to patient up to 5-6 hours. Nurses talk rudely. It's not a free medical service. We work hard and paid huge taxes thatiswhy we are getting these services. We should treat fairly and respectfully in reasonable time.

Was proxy for my dad for 60 days my dad was a long-term patience as soon as they decided that he should die they got my older brother to be proxy because they filled out the paperwork wrong they could do that always make sure proxy paper is filled out correctly by them 2 days later my dad died he was running a fever from lemonia they had him covered up with a heavy blankets and full gown no machines hooked up to him I made it there just in time to watch him die welcome to the killer hospital if you're a long-term patients run

What a joke this hospital is. I had a heart attack like symptoms. Got there at 4am wasn't seen till 830am . Glad I wasn't dying. No one did anything. Really sad. Then you can here the useless Indians in there because there drink or over doses. Could hear like 3 different people in the emergency room. Why after 30 years this city and provinces come up with another place where these non life threatening people can go to . Have a 24 hour center open.

I came here twice.. first 2 times ever in regina. I went to ambulatory care. I'm not use to hospitals being so quick and nice!!! Even short staffed these people were so nice and gentle. Even dr dunlop (oh I pray I spelt that right) was so nice. I'm normally nervous with doctors but the nurses and everyone was so nice even understood I had to keep running out to check on my kids in the car with my fiance the first time second time I was able to get s sitter lol great staff. 100 percent everyone on that floor needs a huge raise and a bottle of w.e they want ♡♡
