Terrible experience, absolutely terrible. Triage nurses are rude with no genuine compassion.

Arrived at 1:10 pm and still waiting almost 6 hours later ! Around 4:15 the time of the last patient called in ....none until 5:55 pm. There should not have to be that long of waits when in with a doctor each patient no longer than 10 minutes.

The nursing staff up on the palliative care unit are truly amazing! They showed compassion and were very understanding and accommodating of our circumstances. Our family was travelling from Ontario and Nova Scotia to be there for our Dad, but he passed before we all arrived. We asked them if we could stay with him for as long as possible and explained that other family from Ontario wouldn't arrive until around 3 am, who needed to see him for closure. Around midnight, the nurses needed the room for another patient, but instead of moving my Dad to the morgue, they found a nice recreation room/activity room, so the family was able to see him and say their final goodbyes. They went out of their way! For that, we thank them very much

One doctor working the emergency and to trauma section, wife crying in pain, waiting for what seems like an eternity and we may as well be alone in the building because if you ask someone how long you get a dumfounded look and they disappear for five minutes before telling you how there is only one doctor working so it may be a while. What the hell is happening to our health system???????

(Translated) It was almost 25 years ago that I was brought here to the world by this hospital, I couldn't tell you how my experience there was, from what my mother told me, she had been waiting for about an hour and a half in the waiting room. I returned to this hospital about 6 months ago and waited almost 2 hours, but was treated well once I was done waiting. I would definitely recommend going here for childbirth.

I was working in the area for a couple days and ended up having emergency surgery in this hospital. The doctors, nurses, staff, everything about my sudden visit was above and beyond. I felt so safe and at peace there, I almost did not want to leave. Thank you so much for being fantastic.

This hospital is a joke, they asked for money to build a extention on the hospital yet theres no staff. When you go at the ER you'll wait your typical 3-4 hours before you see a doctor. Most of the time you can see the staff at the er chatting in the back when peoples are waiting to get registered.

Went in because I was considering suicide. Was treated kindly and checked up on often, but also given plenty of space to relax. Ended up placed in the psych ward overnight, and all of the staff were very understanding and polite. Discharged the next morning with no problem because I felt safe and in control again. Have had a little bit of a rocky experience in the past, but as far as my most recent visit, I feel like I was treated very, very well. Long wait times but that's to be expected of a hospital constantly short staffed and underpaid. Small town, so there's not much we can do. But they solved my problem and treated me well. I'd feel confident going back again if I'm ever in another crisis.

The emergency nurses and doctors are rude and cruel . . I could say more but it would be useless . What else can we do .. we are sick , they are all we have

(Translated) I presented to the ER with a broken foot and was treated like nowhere else! After a warm welcome, I had an x-ray, then had a plaster cast done and came out barely 1h30 later! Thanks to the whole team!

After 10 years I am still traumatized by my experience from giving birth at this hospital. The birth was fine the after care was the worst, my child was premature and I checked myself and the baby out early, because the anxiety I was feeling was too much too handle. The after care I received here had a huge impact on the fact that I chose not to have another child. I managed 10 years without having to go back. I went to the emergency room recently for a doctor's note for a sick leave from work. After a 5 hour wait with no one else in the waiting room I finally saw a Dr and was told that he would not give me a medical note and that if everyone missed work for a cold nobody would be working. I will avoid returning at all cost. Unless you have a life threatening illness they make you feel like a fake and that you are wasting their time. Their time is precious, not ours.

Doctors and nurses are extremely disrespectful. All they care about is getting you in and out as fast as possible and not accurately providing patients with the treatment they require.

I reported this hospital for the way they treat there patients. My husband was there 5 times in 3 weeks with a wood splinter along his vocal cords. He waited 12 plus hours on every visit, had a hard time to breathe, and looked like he was going into anaphalaxis shock. He evenually was seen in Moncton from being referred to help from the ER but another Dr. His vocal cords were almost black and swollen in the pictures on screen in moncton and my husband was taking 16 pills per day along with another medication for treating cancer patients after chemo. because they didnt bother to help him here and blew it off like oxygen wasnt important for your body to function. The only time i was treated here promptly and correctly is when i came in the door with my skull split wide open needing staples swearing at the top of my lungs for a dr with blood running down my head and the Dr was still ignorant. I understand why they have signs on the wall the mind your manners and watch your language. They should have minus 5 stars if that was an option.

(Translated) The trick is to notify the nurse that your pain is at level 8.5 out of 10 and the wait can be a few hours only ... If you are honest ... and you say that your pain is a 5 out of 10 l wait is 4 hr and more !! ” (Original) Le truc est d’aviser l’infirmière que votre douleur est au niveau 8.5 sur 10 et l’attente peux être de quelques heures seulement... I went to the hospital in a matter of 3 mo ths but was sent home 3 times..last time i went was last week Wednesdsy Oct 17..my foot was blue mostly my toes, Dr Aucoin checked for my pulses in both feet, nothing, even behind the knee, nothing..went for an xtray, saw nothing I had blockage but sent me home, told me to go home and wait for ctscan to scan on Thursday Oct 18..when I got the call, I was scheduled for 10h15am..after my test I had to wait in the emergency room for a long with no pain medication, then my name is called to go to room 7 for my results..I had to leave for Moncton City Hospital, i needed emergency surgery, but the day before he sent me home!!! Next day I needed emergency surgery!! Dr Lioupis said I was lucky to be here since I could have lost my right leg..so thanks Dr Aucoin for making my life so much easier, you should'nt work in a hospital if you don't know how to treat your patients!!!

Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. They got me where I had to go. They checked me out, took my x-rays, portable xray machine on wheels was very neat. Most importantly the are very strict about covid and take all and extra precautions.

Raymond Martin

My stay was very accommodating even with covid ..the only downside was your mask had to be on at all time only off in your room.

Allain J. Hachey

Currently in renovation for its extention, as for staffs are fairly polite and professions, as it goes for the waiting time, it always fluctuate between how many people that are currently there, and if there is a emergency or not in play. Overall its all good, everybody does there job well.

Laurie

This hospital is basically useless unless you're bleeding out. Poor excuse of a hospital. They didn't have the basic types of exams that every general hospital should have.

Kathleen Daigle

I would just like to say a very huge thank you to all the staff at the hospital..from blood tests ..CT scan...emergency doctors and nurses and especially to all the nurses on the 3rd floor who were always there..helping me recover...my first operation ever and was an emergency...through all the pain they were there helping me every step of the way..thank you to the doctors who were there in the early morning hours to work hard on getting me better...even with all the extra covid precautions they all persevere...thank you again ..your all amazing❤️????????????

Cindy

The staff is very kind..they are taking all precautions during covid to keep us all safe

My dad was hospitalized for about 4 weeks until his passing. And he had the best care possible even tho some dept. Were under staff???? but in all, the staff were very caring and professional.

Becca Lemieux

Very slow

I had urgent surgery on my fractured leg. Dr. Frenette and all the nurses were awesome! I only gave four stars because the food was really horrible.

Avoid the mental health department here. Antiquated. Stigmatizing. No trauma informed practice. Really shocking when compared to experiences at other hospitals.

My loved one was admitted for a complication of a routine surgery she underwent at the same hospital. The nurses did their best but the staff failed to even get her full record. She did not receive her regular medication for her chronic condition, the onsite doctors were territorial and contravened the orders of her specialist while at the same time denying her corrective surgery because her condition posed a risk to their statistics. They pumped her full of antibiotics and prednisone and called it a day despite her specialist indicating she needed surgery. She was prematurely discharged because "they needed the room." Her condition then worsened over a period of a week in which she experienced continuous pain, and now she has to be hospitalized again and will need to undergo emergency surgery. Obviously, she is going to a different hospital, and I think anyone who is able to should do the same.

S ROB

Horrible experience. 811 recommended I go to the hospital after explaining my symptoms. Once there the ER nurse was demeaning and rude towards me. Her tone and facial expression made sure I knew she thought I was stupid. The nurse proceeded to tell me my situation was not an emergency in the rudest way possible. I decided to leave as she was very condescending. I even called 811 before going so I didn't waste mine or the hospitals time. Beware of some nurses at this hospital as their bed side manners are non-existent.

Not enough doctor's in the ER. Way too long for waiting time. Last time I went I waited 8 long hours and I was pregnant! Other then the ER the staff is amazing and really good at taking care of your needs!!

The Bathurst regional hospital is the WORST hospital to go to. The staff at the emergency are down right ignorant, heartless and think they are above everyone. The wait times are beyond ridiculous and they make you feel like your wasting there time. Something seriously needs to be done about it . If your sick go to a different hospital were you will be treated with dignity and respect.

Wait time was way too long. Nobody in emergency and still stook over 4 1/2 hours

Danika Doucet

My daughter was born with diabetes. They sent her home knowing she had sugar problems.. and when my daughter went back for her checkup the next day we had to be rushed to the iwk because my daughter was almost not waking up.. all because they sent her home when my daughter wasn't ready..

Danie Frenette

I was impressed with service even with a full emergency tonight I was out in 1 1/2 hours , I get that some people can be rude but its nice to see staff still smiling... Good Job to all the staff
