You know that we do not usually stop to write opinions when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Hospital belongs to the category of Hospital.
If I could I would give -10 stars after what I have experienced at the ER today. They made me wait almost an hour outside in 0degrees and told me that they have no idea how much longer I would have to wait outside….they also took my blood pressure outside, I had to take off my clothes in that freezing cold. If you don’t have enough problems, go there and you can get even sicker????Everyone was very rude also, they had zero empathy for me just because I had no vaccination, I was the only one who had to wait outside (after getting through Covid weeks ago without a problem) I can’t believe this is really happening in Canada… Shame on this hospital how they discriminate people and refuse to provide emergency care!!!! I went to Burnaby Hospital right after that where I could wait inside and everyone was super nice and kind… Horrible experience at Mount Saint Joseph, don’t go there if you are really sick!!!
I would not say it is a bad place but I did not have a good experience. I went there with a severe back pain where as I was suffering from it for about two weeks and I have checked with clinic and general doctor, however I went to hospital because my pain suddenly increased upto a limit that I find it very hard to tolerate and I have super high pain tolerance and experiencing that level, I knew there is something wrong so I took an uber and went to ER on a Sunday. As I start, i got registered and was told to wait at waiting room to sit in a CHAIR! with a severe back pain, I can not even sit and stand, then they ask me to stand up and walk to get my blood pressure and then go back. I was struggling with pain, and I went to a nurse, hoping to get a help as the pain was travelling from back to side to stomach and legs, and the nurse responded " there is no bed for you, there is someone in emergency in need of help so you need to wait, I can not give you any medication, but well if sitting is painful, then you can stand, and please do a urine test" honestly with my pain, I do not have sense of anything else. after 90 minutes, finally they got me a bed, a nurse came in and started question me while im trying to control the pain however she questioned " why did you come hospital?" , "you should be crying if the pain is that bad" , "how did you come here, you are able to walk" which then she ask me to do the urine test and I did and then my pain increased even more and I was calling out to anyone walking by to bring a doctor or help me out, however all replied, " they are doing something, nurse is busy" and I couldnt stand, sit, nor be on the bed, and a nurse practisionist came over and started to question me in pain! I was told to change my cloth and was then asked to take blood test on same spot ! the urine test and blood test was done for examination but I was still suffering from severe pain, I did not come to ER to get examined on first step, I came to get away from the pain and then be able to see what is wrong. The nurse was good, she examined me, she was able to get my mind off my pain abit but she suggested physioteraphy and wrote me over counter medicine! I explained to every nurse that my blood pressure drops super fast everytime the pain wave comes and while I was going through that pain, they dared to take the blood samples from me without considering that I can fate if the pain wave hits. I did inform the nurse who was taking blood samples and she did a super good job and super fast so I would give her 5 stars however the action was risky due to the pain and my blood pressure I had a bad experience cause if i am there on a Sunday with severe pain, I would have expected a pain relief, just because I am not crying over that pain, it does not mean, i am faking it, I have fractured bones before and never had a tear, every person is different, If i am there with a back pain, I would assume, sitting in waiting room will not benefit me, a suggestion to stand is not an option, the full 3 hours total time that I was in hospital, I was never given a medication, never taken seriously and I felt like hospital does not care, they did not even care to bring a doctor or send me through an xray or mri to see what is happening.
Excellent Staff and usually has the shortest wait time in Vancouver. However, make sure you watch the time, their ER is not 24 hrs.
I want to thank everyone at St. Joseph's Hospital for making me feel calm, comfortable and cared for. From the moment I arrived for breast surgery on Wednesday, the admission lady, the nurses, the aides, the porter, the doctors, technicians and the surgeon made me feel confident and that I was in good hands. I was asked repeatedly if I was warm enough, if I needed another blanket, if i was comfortable, if I had any questions. Special thanks to Dr. Kuusk and Dr. Cheong and their team. Sorry I can't remember the names of all the people who treated me kindly, respectfully and professionally, but I want you to know that I am appreciative and grateful.
Got my appendix out here. Most comfortable and polite environment I’ve been in at a medical environment ever. Great people.
Excellent staff, short wait times. The unsung hero of Vancouver Emergency Departments.
Amazing ❤️❤️ Been there several times in last couple of weeks Doctors and nurses treated with so much love and care. Thank you so much guys, Really appreciated.
I went to emergency on April 29, 2015 with a an abdominal pain beyond description. I was admitted within half an hour and in an emergency ward bed shortly thereafter. After a preliminary consultation with an attending physician who was very personable and efficient, I received morphine for the pain. My only criticism was how long it took for me to receive the morphine and in sufficient amounts to reduce the excruciating pain. Then I received a CT scan and after a short while I was told I had appendicitis and it required surgery. Not long after I was brought to the OR and surgery was performed under complete anesthesia. Fortunately the appendix had not perforated and laparoscopy was the chosen surgical method. When I awoke several hours later in the recovery room I felt no pain either. I was brought upstairs and kept overnight. The staff who attended to me, from intake to surgeon to nurses and social worker were very caring and attentive. Only while in emergency did I encounter one nurse who appeared to be working in the wrong profession, judging from her impatient way, barely even making eye contact. This was the second time I required surgery at St. Joseph's (once before for cataracts), and I hold the devoted multicultural staff in high esteem. Minor peeves for me included the poor quality of food, incredibly dirty windows (on the outside) in my room where I spent the night, a crucifix staring at me from an adjacent wall, and the obvious need for an upgrade to the interior of this hospital. The place was clean, of course, and there were constant reminders everywhere to wash one's hands with antiseptic dispensaries everywhere for staff, patients and visitors.
Such first class service from such a caring staff. Their ER is always so busy, yet on y few visits there, I was blessed with excellent service and care, from people who seem to care.
My appointment was 7:30am. The nurse didn't show up untill 8. When the lab nurse came , I felt she is the modern samurai, and the needle is her sword . After the needle is deeply under my skin, she push , pull and rorate the needle few times , then press, poke the needle w her finger from outside .... One extra star for the only nurse that gave me water and food after 7hours of testing w/o food and water .
I had a really great experience in the ER here. Was seen and taken care of right away by kind nurses and Dr. Kira who was attentive, friendly and answered all my questions thoroughly (and not in a rush!). Highly recommend this little community hospital! Excellent service, quality care, reasonable wait time and lovely staff. Thank you <3
Great hospital, wonderful nurses and staff. Skip waiting at VGH and come here
Came for a septoplasty and the level of care by the nurses and surgeon was excellent, the nurses were kind and took care of all my needs after surgery.
I have never dealt with such institutionalized incompetence before. Incorrect procedures being followed about isolation, staff members constantly correcting others mistakes. I will never, ever come to this hospital again if I can possibly avoid it. After 4+ hours waiting for a simple swab, I finally just left.
My doctor called me after receiving my blood work advising I go into the emergency room as I had a high white blood cell count. First experience was okay, the doctor told me what he thought I had and told me to come back tomorrow and get a second ultrasound To make sure. After my Ultrasound I was instructed to go back to emergency. This is where it started. I don’t know about every one, but being at the hospital is not my plan nor do I enjoy being there. The male doctor who saw me or I should say STUDENT DOCTOR kept asking about my symptoms which is fine . But what’s not okay is the fact that he came back every 5 minutes to ask me the same question , each time growing “suspicious” “hmmmmmm.” “Thats weird” . MAY I REMIND YOU I DIDNT JUST DECIDE TO COME TO EMERGENCY! MY DOCTOR INSTRUCTED ME TO DO SO AFTER MY LAB WORK I also had to get a pelvic exam which he said would be performed by a female doctor but I had the option to have him there for his education. I said I WAS NOT COMFORTABLE which should have been the end of That conversation but no, he continued saying how important this was for his education——the answer is NO. And quite frankly the last thing I’m thinking about after his rudeness was his education. I don’t know if the staff talked amongst eachother but one of the male nurses then came in “HELLOOOOO?!!!!??!!? GET UP “ (because he had to change the bed) So I did. He later came back again “GET UP!” And that’s when I broke down and had to let him know this is an incredibly uncomfortable situation for me and I don’t appreciate him being condescending and rude. He then said “how am I being rude ?!” And I said you really don’t need to speak to me like you are. I don’t want to be here and I don’t appreciate it. Funny how the attitude went away after I told him about his behaviour. Long story short, I was sent home after my symptoms were “mysterious” and nothing “too serious” showed up after testing. I won’t be coming back. And will be getting a second opinion
I didn’t know that compassionate and competent care could exist in the mess of a healthcare system we have in Canada. I have had 3 eye surgeries and an emergency visit at this hospital. Each and every visit has left me feeling taken care of during a really stressful time. This hospital is well organized, every person you interact with is pleasant and professional: from the nurses, doctors, front desk, door greeters, even paramedics. Bottom line is, you can tell that they truly care for their patients, you’re not just a number. VGH could learn a thing or two from this hospital.
Compared to the other hospitals in Vancouver (proper) MSJ is the best.
Came in with severe stomach pain on a Saturday morning. Quickly assessed and sent for ct scan. Spent 2 nights while on antibiotics. Found Dr Essler in ER and his staff to be compassionate and professional. Not everyone I met (1 or 2 nurses) had a great beside manner but I was cared for and listened to. Short wait time was definitely a plus. Shout out to Melody who was a nurse on my ward. Lovely person and knew her job well.
Couldn't say more about Mount Saint Joseph Hospital. I found myself at emerge yesterday can't say enough about how well I was treated from the second I walked through the door. My hat goes off to "absolutely everyone" there! *Especially* a lovely nurse named Lyndsay. You are all true a credit to your profession and thanks again <3
Very caring staff who went above and beyond to make sure we got what we needed. It's not a fancy hospital but it feels very welcoming.
If i could give it 0 stars I would. It was the worst treatment I have gotten in my entire life. After surgery I was having problems with my asthma, when I informed the nurse I was having trouble breathing she just responded "You're breathing right now sweety" sarcastically and continued to ignore me until my oxygen alarm went off. When I informed her that I was in a lot of pain, something that I was told to inform the nurses about, she said that I couldn't be in that much pain and that I was lying. I ended up having to go to Saint Paul's later because of the pain. Then when shift changed she made very rude comments about me to the nurse who took over. I have never been treated so disrespectfully in my life. I would suggest that if you are able to go to ANY other hospital at all.
The staff were all very helpful. Left with a good feeling.
This hospital was recommended to me by my boss, but I was also directed here by a wonderful woman at a walk in clinic, and I couldn't be happier with how I was treated and cared for. Despite them being very busy, I was helped in what seemed like a reasonable time for an emergency room, and I felt like my pain was taken seriously by everyone there. The doctor, whose name I unfortunately forgot already, was absolutely wonderful and personable and everyone made me extremely comfortable. And just a really great, happy energy all around from the staff which makes the experience so much better.
customers services at night. infact 0 stars, but they are not allowing me to post. learn more PR
I had a surgery here a couple of weeks ago and can't say enough good things about the surgical daycare center! The staff and nurses were super kind and attentive both before and after the surgery. They answered all my questions with details and they genuinely care about the patients ☺️ The experience was MUUCH better than my previous surgery at St Paul hospital, even with St Paul being a fancier hospital. Also the Covid protocols are in place (hand sanitizing and masks) so no need to worry about that.
They are like family here been coming here for 2yrs m w and f for 4hrs they are so loving and caring you wouldn’t think you were at a hospital been to all hospital in lower mainland and this is the best they actually know you by your name instead of a number at some big hospital love the nurses and staff at MSJ Hospital
Greg the grim reaper comes here sometimes. He's friendly.
Good to go!!????????????
My grandpa was admitted to this hospital and the staff were so nice and gentle with him.
security guard kept smoking in front of "no smoking area" sign when I was waiting for my appointment for the neurologist. this was right after he just finished scolding a staff for taking her break outside.
had a mammogram today and it was awesome!!!! Bel was the best at this awkward experience. She is so gentle and nice. I would go back every 2 years ????!!!
Bell is amazing in mammography. I have literally passed out having a mammogram in the past (in Montreal). She was one of the kindest people you could meet. I told her my history and she was so above an beyond what was just doing her job. She let me sit during the mammogram! She kept asking me if I was OK, and on and on. Finally I will no longer dread mammograms. Thank you so much dear Bell.
Incredibly beautiful because of the good, kind, and helpful staff. It's where the Best and Famous Opthalmologist and Cataract Surgeon in the City works, by the name of Dr. Heather O'Donnell. Got splendid memories at Mount Saint Joseph Hospital because my eye cataract extractions were successfully done on both eyes. I give Mount Saint Joseph's Hospital a 10 stars commendation. My heart-felt gratitude to the doctor's, nurses , and staff. Especially to Caroline and Joanne who's got a sincere dedications to the assigned tasks. More power everyone!
I owe my life to the Dr in charge the time I went to the emergency of the hospital. As soon as I got the CT scan the Dr sent me to the surgery because my brain was bliding and it needed a aporation ASAP .that's why I was transferred to VGH and it was a successful operation. Thank you for saving my life.A .Hajiesmaili.
I’ve visited the ER here as well as seeing specialists in this location. Always fast, efficient care. The staff know what they are doing, and provide a high standard of care
Beyond Amazing and this Hospital deserve more than 5 stars. Every staff members treated everyone with respect and kindness. Thank you Ms. IRIS MIRANDA @Pulmonary Function Lab Department for making me feel very comfortable during my test today. You go over above and beyond to make sure that you explained every step of the way to me so i know what to expect during the test and after. I salute you for being so dedicated and committed to your job!!!
If I could have come to this ER more than ten years ago, I would not have suffered so much. From last year till now, for some reason, my husband suggested to come to Mount Saint Joseph Hospital ER , I got a thorough examination, the doctor staff is very efficient Gao. Allowed me to get treatment in a timely manner...Thanks so much to all the people in the hospital who helped me! So impressed! May God bless this loving hospital!❤️❤️❤️
The staff, medical and clerical, are extremely knowledgeable, kind and gentle.
Recently visited for a couple of broken toes and a jacked knee. Admission was relatively easy, but haphazardly done as they got my surname wrong on my bracelet (corrected after pointing it out) despite holding on to my ID until the paperwork was complete. I noticed nurses referring to other returning patients by incorrect names, too, which reflect the high stress environment. This was my first visit to this hospital. I was there for total of 6½ hours: about 3 hours in the triage waiting area; 1 hour in SuperTrack; ½ hour for X-rays; and the remaining 2 hours for the results with the doctor. There were only two doctors on the floor that evening, every seat in the triage waiting area was full, and even with 7 SuperTrack seats it slugged along. Like other reviewers, I was cared for professionally and well enough by nurses, radiologists, and the doctor despite the extensive wait times, but it wasn't a pleasant way to spend a Sunday night. Other patients were friendly, so chatting with them made the wait time bearable, but there were a considerable number of patients who bailed on their visit because of the wait time. It's at a hospital that one is reminded of, and has time to reflect on, one's own mortality.
Came to Mt Saint Joseph due to some stomach discomfort, thinking it might be an appendix issue. Within 5 minutes of arriving, I was checked in, screened by nurse Helen at the front, and in a bed 10 minutes later. Doctor Chang came in 5 minutes after that and after some questions, let me know exactly what tests they'd be running. Another 10 minutes later, two nurses came in. Nurse Emerson to ask me questions, and another to do my blood work. 10 minutes after that, got brought in for x-ray. Came back into the room, and 10 min later Dr. Chang came back to tell me the tests were pretty much normal and of no concern. Maybe just gas or minor blockage causing the discomfort. Also gave some suggestions for diet changes and meds. Went in around 11:30am, out by 12:53pm. All the nurses were kind, and they were not messing around with getting things done quick and efficient. This should be the gold standard for ERs.
Yesterday, I was in the day surgery center and I have to say every staff member was fantastic. They were happy, cheery and seemed to genuinely care about me. They asked me to come in early, as there was a cancellation, and most of the nurses thanked me for coming in early and apologized profusely for inconveniencing me. Everything seemed to be well maintained and in good order. Oh, when they ask you if you want a warm blanket or a normal blanket. Take the warm blanket, it's awesome. Thank you to all everyone in the day surgery for your help! There was one annoying thing and that was the beds are made for shorter people. I'm 6'0" and my feet were hanging over the edge of the bed a little bit.
This hospital should be highly recommended for more people. ????I went there several times, I was treated with respect and lots of medical knowledges all the time. very efficient ER services, good doctors and nurses
Excellent personal care
Thank you, Dr. Wiseman, nurses and Mount Saint Joseph Hospital I am grateful for your care, and for the peace of mind knowing I was in your expert hands for hernia surgery.
Great Emergency staff, cant recommend this hospital enough if you live in the Vancouver area. I've been here a few times and have always received excellent care from the moment I walk through the door right until I leave. Each person I deal with is helpful and just great at their job. I've had care in a few departments and each time I get the sense that I'm being cared by a cohesive team that actual enjoys coming to work and are able to focus in on individual patients to give them the care they need.
Nice small hospital. Staff and nurses are very friendly allowing for a good environment. Parking available in the street for free. Hospital closed until 6:30 am with the emergency being open at 8 am.
My mom was rushed to this hospital due to numbness on her face and one side of her leg and pulpitations and dizziness and alot more. She wanted to make sure she gets tested with everything regarding what she was feeling. However, the nurse who attended her said she was just acting since her MRI came out normal. Also, the doctor who saw her said, maybe she got nervouse when she was on her way there cause she was going to a hospital. So they sent her home with those comments. It seems like staff here especially doctors, really don't care much about their patients and their job. Now, we are here at Lions gate hospital and she is beeing observed and beeing tested rightly. It came down to Arythmia. I hope doctors in Saint Jo will learn their lesson.
These people are amazing. Thank you for the many times you've patched me up. :)
Quick and attentive staff
Was greeted at the door and the attendee at the desk was helpful and polite. I was processed and waited patiently. It took about an hour and a half to have a doctor see me and about 1 min to help fix my problem. I know the staff here are working hard to process patients and I think due to the fact that the emerg is t open 24 hours the staff are much more enjoyable to be around.
Don't come here if you're a christian from Ireland, Fiji, Japan, or Jamaica. This hospital harbors demons and is the devils home. They allowed my grandmother to die and i was the one who had to try and preform CPR on her. Everyone at this hospital has demonic values. They won't even try and help, they'll just tell you "palatable care." Yeah palatable care when we kept her alive for an entire year in the same condition and she died in this hospital within a week of coming here. Hopefully these people burn for their sins and never walk the earth again. Who the hell even allowed them to be doctors and nurses anyways? All they value is money. No Hope in this world.
MSJ Hospital in heart of Mount Pleasant /Vancouver —part of Providence Health Care, is a wonderful little local hospital offering excellent quality care. Features first class Emergency Department, multiple specialty clinics and an Extended Care wing. Special Note: their parking lot (Kingsway & Prince Edward Street) is one of my favourite locations to view summer sunsets.
Had an acute allergic reaction with swollen eyes and face and hives all over but waited four hrs to be seen and was not even given benedryl. While the guy with a broken finger who came an hr after me got seen and treated first. He was under no distress and super calm. Triage is terrible i should have just gone to a walk in clinic and been out in an hour. After four hrs they gave me no treatment but a prescription to fill. I also had a family member stay on the gen surg unit after a hemicoletomy the nurses are overworked or understaffed and do not follow best practice of resiting ivs after 72hrs. I had to advocate to get the iv removed as her arm was swollen and puffy. If you can avoid staying at this hospital you should do so.
I stayed here for 5 nights because I had to have my gall bladder taken out. The nurses were so kind and caring that I bought them a big box of chocolates and left a card after I got well, because they left such a great impression. It's so hard for hospitals - they don't have enough support & we are hard on people who work there when it's not their fault. Really great spot.
Central location and friendly staff
(Translated) This hospital really didn't have to say. In addition to thank you or thank you. I personally felt that my stomach hurts to go to the burnaby hospital. I wasted my seven hours of ultrasound and said that everything is normal and let me go home. The next day, the pain came to the mount saint joseph. I did ct and found that I had pancreatitis. I arranged the hospitalization and everything right away. The staff was very professional in a few days and the care was added. I think it is a model of the hospital industry. I recommend everyone to check here. The facilities are complete, the food is also good, and the socks are sent intimately. When I left, I double checked and I noticed.
Every staff member treated me with so much kindness and dignity. I strongly recommend. Beyond amazing compared to every other hospital I’ve been to before.
The "unknown" Vancouver hospital - likely because of proximity and size compared to VGH. Wait times are, as expected, frustrating. Exoect there to be exciting, eclectic happenings in this waiting room. Go at 9am on weekdays, 2nd doctor arrives then and waits are quick. Dr. Ogilvie is the best - humour helps everything. Nurses are great too.
Great staff
Excellent care and communication from the staff in the ER. The unit was well organized and nice to have free parking right out front.
Respectful, courteous, helpful, kind. Nurses, doctors and every other staff are just the best. I think this is what a human being needs to make them feel good. I had an emergency visit for a broken ankle.
Friendly and caring staff. Everyone seems to be there for the right reasons. They really care about people, and their bedside manner is excellent.
(Translated) Good service attitude! (Original) 服务态度好!
Great hospital and staff!
Staffs are very friendly, doctors are very professional , they make you feel home.
I called them to make an appointment as a new patient. They sighed on phone and gave me an attitude.
Was told by a nurse friend that the ER wait time is shorter and she was right! Friendly staff. Very impressed.
I was there for a week, be patient as they are doing there best to get your diagnosis as a patient. Especially when you’ve been there for a long time , sometimes there’s new nurses or doctors but they are all trying the best . Great small hospital when you liver near by .. ER can get packed “first some first serve” doesn’t apply - based on health issue which is logical. Only downside is having a few needles missed which is ouchie!
Fantastic service! Triaged appropriately. Staff pleasant. Emergency physician Dr. Kenny, fantastic. I was very impressed from start to finish! I know where I will be coming next time I need Emergency services in the City of Vancouver.
My wife got her thyroid remove from this hospital and we got a very great experience from the hospital staff...
The staff doctors and nurses are usually great. Today we came in to the emergency room as my Chinese grandfather who does not speak English has been feeling pain for over 12 hours. We were treated at triage by a nurse (nationality Punjabi) on Nov 25 @12pm. I usually care for people not to be super polite as they work in a stressful environment but at least they should be caring seeing that they work in the health industry. She treated us like a number, like we were not worthy of her time which might make me believe she was just having a bad day however she was super friendly to her own kind. I was so displeased by her treatment and her unapproachable manner I tried to get her name but as I approached her station I can see her doing online shopping on her work computer from the window. With so many patients waiting to be registered and her unfriendly approach it was sad to see they have someone working at this job that just doesn’t give consistent support and attention across all the patients.
worst hospital in the city. All they care about is their interests instead of patients. LIZ representing the hospital?- not even going to comment, dont know who hires people here? Ms. Janice from providence, classless wannabe cougar. Asian doctor always on site, lies straight to your face about RESULTS yes test results!!! then tries to disappear when patient wants to see evidence.
I don't understand why there is one star review there without any comments for this hospital, I suggest google remove those as those are not helpful. This hospital is best in Vancouver area, the nurse and doctor we met are extremely helpful and friendly, also parking is free!
Best hospital hands down!!!! Admitting.to nurses, physio and doctors and all around very respectful n courtrous and so kind!!! Been here 9 days or more!!!????????????????????????
Was amazing. Best experience I had as an indigenous person. They talked without judgement. Overall the best.
Most of the staff at this hospital was great when my grandma was on the third floor. Unfortunately I had to encounter an older nurse that obviously did not belong in an hospital environment. My grandma was moved to the 4th floor a couple days ago and she has limited mobility due to a stroke a couple years ago. The bed that was give to her was very small with no space for visitors at all. There was only enough room to put those tables that they feed the patients with. I understand that there are limited beds and I'm not complaining about the bed size. I'm only disappointed and worried when all I asked for from the nurse was to help transport my 90+ year old grandma from her wheelchair to the bed as we did not have enough room to do it ourself without disturbing the other patient. Sadly, the response I've received from one of the nurse was "they live with their grandma and they don't even know how to transport her." I'm sorry, excuse me? Even the nurse that ended up helping us had to open the curtains and borrow some space from the other patient. At this rate, I'm extremely worried about the care that my grandma is receiving from the nurses on the 4th floor. Honestly if you have opinions like that, please keep it to yourself or until the family has left. I'm already concerned as to how she is and why she's still hospitalized and a rude comment like that gives me the impression that you no longer wish to be there, nor are you fitted to be a caring nurse.
Great location. Lots of parking but have to pay for it. Many services available here. Emergency services here but only during the day. This location also has many specialists here as well. Staff here is very friendly and helpful.
Emerging ward is kind, quick and efficient ????

Amazing small hospital that truly offer excellent quality care, thank you to all the staff
Very polite and informative staff in the ER department. They keep patients informed about whats happening showing they care. I know that other busy hospitals can be very busy and stressful but its no reason not to be polite.
I have always had nothing but the best care fast service and the staff is the best staff ive ever been cared by out of any hospital in all of vancouver this is the very best hospital you will find as far as iam concerned the other hospitals dont come close to compairing 100% upmost best care ever clean and very professional careing staff
Very patient, kind and knowledgeable nurses and doctors working in the ER!
Thank you to all the people who works in the Eye clinic, you guys are so cool. Professional yet friendly. Shout-out to Joanne, you are simply amazing!
Closes too early!!!
It was absolutely a nightmare experience there on the last Friday, I believe. I spent 5 hours there for my left eye being flied in a piece of metal. The doctor there not only lied to me not being able to find anything wrong in my left eye and created another scheduled appointment job next week for VGH Eye care center, but also kicked out me from that hospital saying they would charge me if I insisted to stay there for any further check or help!
I had a broken toe in 2 places. From start to finish my experience with this hospital was excellent. From reception at the front who helped me get to the ER then radiology and especially Dr. Syma Khan who was outstanding with communication and recommendations.
Awesome, dependable, loyal employees spent night in town, because of snowfall...
Always received great care at the emergency here. However, the lady outside the emergency entrance has serious attitude issues.

Lots of parking. Pay parking. Expensive. Easy access off kingsway. Well laid out. Efficient friendly professional on time service for cardiac testing.
I went there several times, I was treated with respect and lots of medical knowledges all the time. great customer service.
I had the best experience at Mount Saint Joseph emergency. All the Nurses, Doctors and staff were absolutely wonderful! I wish I could remember all their names so I could thank them personally. Despite how busy they were, they were all kind, caring and helpful. In these time of uncertainty and fear, everyone there made me feel safe and cared for!
Every person working here went out of their way for my wife and I when she broke her foot. Love that you had a greeter at the door to stop people from stressing about weather or not they were In line. It’s amazing how kind everyone was Jerez. Thanks for making a normally crappy experience into a painless one.
good staff
Verma from security is a great man, contacted me about my lost wallet, much appreciated
I went into Emergency tonight and was quickly sent to Triage and then to a nurse who was very professional and helpful in answering my questions. I was seen in record time by an Emergency Doctor and discharged within 45 min. I will never go to any other Emergency department again.!! It was an efficient and pleasant experience.
Nice doctors and nurses.
One of the worst hospitals in the history of mankind. I had a surgery with the so called doctor ercole leone and he did not give me antibiotics after the surgery although I asked for it but he declined and said no need for it. Few days post operation my genital started to explode literally infected black blood and this caused my penile skin to die ( necrosis ). Now my genital is numb and covered with scars instead of skin. I'm 27 years old and I can never be intimate or get married with anyone because my humanity and sexuality have been stripped away. These damages are irreversible and not repairable. It's evident that this hospital hires doctors that are not college certified. Stay away before you get hurt!
The best emergency treatment I received in my life! Timely, accurate diagnosis and extremely nice personnel ????
OR staff is super. I am sorry to criticise ward nurses who are likely overworked under difficult circumstances but they can be awful.
Always the best place to go for some diagnostic imaging. The staff are incredible there. I live by VGH and prefer going to MSJ.
It was my first time as a patient in a surgical daycare and my experience was great. The staff is really professional and super nice and the doctors are experienced. Everything is well maintained and they make sure you feel good all the time. Despite the big number of patients I was pleasantly surprised how they treat each one individually and listen to their needs. Thank you!
Standard service from a set of nice staff.
The staff is okay not great but okay and they don’t get back to you on stuff like my covid test results.
I was diagnosed with bladder cancer almost a a year ago and all my treatments and surgeries were done at this place. I just wanted to thank all of the nurses and staff for doing their best. We are all human with us and downs, but these people leave them outside when they walk in to their work place. There are things that they cannot do anything about, like the system or waitlists and hope we all understand it. You are awesome and hope you guys get the best.
4West:Confusing. Communication: minus ten. Question's ask to nurses: one or two words answer. Elder patient English second language, was assumed by nurses he understand English. Left confused misunderstood . Family raised concern, or tried fine info on He's condition ignored. Patient left in dirty bed garbage left on he's bed, in unacceptable condition. This is hard to put down, wish our experience was good, but I hope this will help someone else.
Came on a Saturday morning to get a blood test. I was admitted within 10 minutes, done in 20 minutes. Fast, great service, I definitely give My. St. Joseph staff my salute.
Staff in wards need more people skills and code of ethics embedded in their brains To them this is just a job. Not that they are looking after sick people. The needs to trained on why they’d are here and for who they are here for.over time. Some are good as they care about what they are doing. Most are not.
Although the nurse that greeted me at the ER seemed disingenuous, the staff and volunteers were so kind.
Although wait is long like other hospitals, not bad.
I was a patient in Surgical Day Care on Friday, June 12th, 2015, where I was given an anesthetic for a cataract procedure (I was put out for this due to a pre-existing condition). Staff could not have been nicer! I was provided warm blankets prior to going into surgery, which was certainly unexpected, but a nice touch. I was consulted by the anesthetist and my attending eye surgeon prior to surgery. Operating room staff couldn't have been nicer and put me completely as ease. The nurse who was with me after I came out of anesthetic stayed with me until I was fully conscious. She was exceptionally kind and courteous, as I tended to ramble on, as I came to from the procedure. We had a heady chat about life, the universe, and everything. I was given very caring and special treatment by everyone. Thanks to the great staff for making this into a memorable experience for all the right reasons. Bob S.
went there for a checkup on Saturday July 22nd. Around 730pm, I was told to provide a urine sample. The sample was lying by my side table for 2hours, and the nurse who asked for it walked by the table over 5 times just ignoring it. Didn't even bother taking it to their lab. I waited 3hours, while three doctors were sitting around on their computers chatting and laughing. One of the lady doctors kept glancing over but didn't bother to come over to tell me anything or ask someone to take the sample!! I got so frustrated, and told one of them that the sample has been siting for over 2hrs. I'm hungry and exhausted. She asked the nurse and he came right away to take the sample and results were in within minutes!! This is the worse experience I've had at a hospital. Never seen such an incompetent hospital staff. I don't know why I'm paying msp! f$$#/*g rediculous!
Patients here with complaints should go to lawyers. Only with lawsuits will things get better.
Wife had cataract surgery. Staff were gracious and comforting. Took less than ten minutes. Thank you to the doctors and nurses.
The Doctors here today were VERY compassionate, kind and professional.....they helped me find out that I had a fracture in my toe after some x - rays. Another friendly doctor took the time to explain EXACTLY to me what i can do for the broken toe and not what to do. So i was very happy that they helped me today. I will always come back here again if the need arises. My sister and her husband like this place a lot and they always get the best of care here .....they highly recommend coming here.
Great Staffs, helpful, friendly, and amazing staffs. Security guards are helpful. Thank You Kindly!
