I went to the drive through Covid testing ..... Had a great experience. The nurse (Cecilia) was great. she has a great attitude, done a great job explaining the process, and truly went above and beyond in her customer service. I so not used to such a treatment from staff at Credit Valley.
DR HOPPER AT THE EMERGENCY IN MISSISSAUGA WAS THE BEST DOCTOR EVER. HE'S SOOOO KIND & COMPASSIONATE. THE NURSES NOT SO MUCH QUITE RUDE ... THE WAITING TIME IS THE WORST BUT DR HOPPER MADE UP FOR IT , THX DR HOPPER MAY GOD BLESS U ???? MY HOMETOWN IS OAKVILLE BUT BC I WAS IN SO MUCH PAIN I COULDN'T GO TO MY HOSPITAL IN OAKVILLE SO I HAD NO CHOICE TO GO TO THE MISSISSAUGA ONE & IM GLAD I DID BC OF DR HOPPER ????
Terrible terrible experience. It’s already known that in emergency the average wait time is 6-8 hrs to see a dr but my mom 73 yrs old post knee replacement surgery, was brought in, in an ambulance having fainted and in excruciating pain and they kept her waiting for 6 hours with no blankets and no pain meds she kept screaming and no one attended to her until she passed out again! They then put a catheter and IV in and when she woke up she had a catheter and IV in her. Also we were not told all this at all having called multiple times. The staff is not honest at all, they hide facts and truth. She got moved to surgical ward 1A and the staff there are terrible, unsympathetic and extremely uncaring. All the seniors are not attended to properly. Post knee replacement my mother is a fall risk and the nurses have refused to accompany her to the bathroom in the middle of the night when she is drowsy. Her chest CT was delayed 2 hours only because the night nurse was MIA for atleast 2 hours and missed the 4 am cortisone tablet that my mom was to be given. My mom kept calling for 2 hours and she was told by different ppl that her night nurse is busy. Busy for 2 hours and missing to give a patient their meds? She came back at 6am and told my mother it is no big deal you can do your CT later! Unbelievable! Then my mom asked her to accompany her to the bathroom as she hadn’t slept all night and was drowsy and she refused. This is after multiple times of being informed by doctors and the family that she is a fall risk. Why do people like this go into this profession? This is unacceptable. Surgical ward 1A has the worst staff I’ve seen anywhere. It is extremely heartbreaking to see the seniors suffering in this ward. There seems to be no consequences for the nurses hence this kind of behavior continues. It’s mostly happening with seniors who don’t have their families around who are vulnerable. The staff should be ashamed of themselves. My mother even asked me not to complain for fear they will be worse with her…can you believe this? Patients are fearful of the staff! If the hospital is reading this Please take action
My Mom was admitted here, my brother and stayed with her at Credit Valley (2B section) for 2 weeks. All the nurses, the support team, the floor manager Mr. Ryan , Dr Hayworth and Doctor Osborne were extremely helpful and genuine care …
Overall experience for my first time giving birth, thanks to the caring and hard working nurses in the Labour and Delivery ward, was a comfortable (as comfortable as it could be given the situation) and amazing one. Once I was admitted into Labour and Delivery, the nurses from start to finish in that unit were absolutely amazing. They made me feel secure, comfortable and constantly cared for. More importantly, they knew exactly what they were doing! Apart from the brutal wait times in the days leading up to my labour (3-4 hours waiting in the Labour Assessment Unit for a Doctor to assess how far along I was and if I was ready to be admitted), Credit Valley Hospital does an amazing job with the care, support and services they provide both mothers and babies. As a first time mother, I'm grateful to have had this hospital, Dr. Kanee, and the L&D nurses deliver my baby safely. Thank you Credit Valley Hospital!
Extremely long wait time for ultrasound appointments, they ran 90 mins late with me keeping a full bladder as instructed, am now in pain for days after.
We went to the hospital on Sunday night with my daughter's abdominal pain. The nurses took such an amazing care to make her feel comfortable. After many tests, she needed an emergency surgery which went very well. The surgeon and nurses …
I was very disappointed by the treatment I received very unprofessional treatment from multiple nurses. Being told if I wanted to go home that I wasn't being held hostage. Then when confronted about this she denied saying it. I was given …
I am a postpartum Doula and my clients returned to the breastfeeding clinic that is offered here as this was their delivery hospital. Unfortunately, their experience was not very positive. They were a few weeks postpartum and went in with their baby for additional breastfeeding support. They were judged by the number of weeks postpartum they were and questioned how they even got in when there were so many newborns waiting to have an appointment. They were told to give it two weeks and then make a decision to either continue breastfeeding or quit. They were advised certain things without proper examination. Overall, my clients were quite disappointed by the atmosphere and their experience when they were just looking for some help and support during this journey
Amazing Experience???? Stayed for 3 nights for a small urgery, Despite how busy the doctors and nurses were, they went beyond my expectations of comfort during my stay. A special thank you to my attending nurses(Lisa and team. You were all so considerate, and kept me posted as much as possible. I would have been lost and far more stressed without your support. To Doctor Kosmo, thank your for taking time to explain diet and medication details vital to my recovery. Again, thank you all for making a stressful time as comfortable as one could hope for!
My wife went to emergency for her UTI got checked and registered. The Worst they let her wait for 8hrs before get back the result of her test etc. Canadian Hospital Policy let you wait for hours or maybe days. All hospitals are the same, I’m disappointed, frustrated. Everyone pay taxes but someone else get the benefits. It’s getting worst and worst. More negative reviews will come out....we all do our part but do your job right! Get it done! Time is gold! Geezzzz....
Mom is sick with covid, we go to emergency and they only want mom inside and no one else, i explained that she needs someone to translate but they keep denying me to go inside more than once, they took my mom inside and have her waiting for a doctor for more than an hour while shes shivering and thirsty and hungry as she couldn't eat for two days while throwing, later on they literally throw her outside the emergency and tell her you fine go home, they know she's bearly able to move, they know they supposed to call me when she good to go but they didn't, i come pick my mom and she tell me other patients had their family with them so why you they didn't let you?! Horrible staff and horrible experiences and after all they didn't even tell her what she need to do Calling these people Hero's. I don't believe so!!!
Most day nurses in "Day Surgery G" were awful and heartless. Expected an 80 year old woman to do everything by herself after an open surgery. From going to the bathroom to sponge bathing. The doctors were Fantastic, saved her life.
I spent more than two months here in medicine unit E and this is a top notch hospital with great nurses, drs and food. No complaints, I can't stand most hospitals.
My experience at Credit Valley Hospital was above my expectations of any hospital. I was referred to the fracture clinic after a car accident & from the volunteers at the front desk to the nursing staff, and doctors everyone treated myself and my family with respect and made us feel recognized. They are very efficient and I was in and out for my appointment. I would like to thank all the staff of Trillium Hospitals for their continued hard work and exemplary patient care.
Went because of a severe concussion and was told I have covid symptoms. Wasted 4 hours for 3 Tylenol’s and an Advil. Stop assuming everything is covid related and stop wasting peoples time. The Doctor I had seemed inexperienced. 100% worse then trillium
WORST HOSPITAL EVER. WAS THERE FOR ALMOST 9 HRS AND DIDN'T GET TO SEE ONE DOCTOR. NURSES KEPT SAYING WE'LL PUT YOU IN A ROOM SOON BUT IT WILL BE A COUPLE OF HOURS STILL TO SEE A DOCTOR. NURSES ARE EXTREMELY RUDE AND USELESS!!!!
I was a bit skeptical about this hospital. But had no other go as my husband was taken to this hospital yesterday by an ambulance. He had a seizure due to high fever. They kept him in the ER until last night to come up with a working diagnosis. He tested positive for COVID with D-dimer more than 1000 and CRP was 26. They took Chest CT and X-ray. They gave one dose of Dexamethazone and today didn't even repeat the blood work for D-dimer or CRP. No prescriptions for follow-up medication or anything they asked him to discharge. They asked us to followup with our GP further. We asked to repeat the blood work atleast for D-dimer and CRP so we can follow up with our Family GP as he can't go in for Blood work due to home quarantine. Even for that they didn't oblige. They are asking us to come back if things worsen. What kind of a Health Care System is this ? We won't treat you because you are not critical yet, come back once you become critical! Hopeless health care system. After paying taxes for 11 years and using the hospitalization benefit for the first time this is what we get. All that glitters is not gold. So much for the Free health care in Canada!
Overall it’s a good hospital with knowledgeable doctors and nurses, who show genuine empathy and concern for your health and well-being. However, that doesn’t mean all of the staff is friendly and professional. On a recent visit to the Emergency Room, I witnessed at least 20 patients waiting to be seen by a doctor while nurses and registration staff were in a nonchalant, casual mood attending to personal business at every opportunity possible. For example, the woman in the picture was in the ER registration room and called out patient names from her chair without making an effort to be heard. She firmly believed that it was the patients responsibility to have their ears on her at all times. In between every single patient she religiously picked up her phone and made sure she was up to date on her social media and wasn’t missing a beat. Oh she also sipped coffee and sucked on a lollipop (wish I had captured her doing that). Anyway as I said, there’s a good mix of genuine and professional staff with those who can only be described as lazy and clock-watchers. Your experience will depend on whom you’re dealing with and can range from horrible to wonderful.
Dull, drab interior. Lots of security, covid sceeners, short staffed on the units. Lots if families doing care of patients. Staff are overworked, some do a better job than others. They do their best.
A BIG THANKS to all the amazing staff.. Specially CCU Erin day nurse and Tu night nurse I will forever be grateful for your kindness ❤
Worst waiting times. My wife (5 months pregnant) has been waiting for ultrasound in maternity assessment unit. She had unusual discharge and Dr. wanted to get an ultrasound done. She waited 7 hours but the department can't give any time. Theres a disconnect between usg and assessment unit. They told her yesterday to come back today and 9ur case will be prioritized. Today again she's waiting for past 2 hours and nurses here can't do anything. We feel helpless and frustrated by this system. This utter nonsense.
This is one of the worst triages I’ve ever experienced. I repeatedly reminded the nurses about my 3 year old daughter who needed urgent medical attention as she was coughing with a running temperature and dehydrated. They just told me to wait for my turn as there is a long list of people ahead of her. I a writing this review as I’m waiting with my baby. It’s almost 3 hours now and still no Hope of medical attention. Shame on you credit valley.
Experience at this hospital was over a year ago but I still think about it often. I was a birth coach for a patient at this hospital and I have to say I was appalled by the nurses that came into contact with her. From the admitting nurses to the delivery room nurse. They were cold, impatient, apathetic and what I interpreted as slightly racist. The OBG and the post-delivery nurses were fine, but other than that it was hard to watch from the outside. I hope this hospital can work out those kinks.
I am absolutely happy to say that I have now had two of my kids out of three at credit valley hospital, and both times I was very happy when I left! My first son I had there and I had him vaginal birth and I felt well taken care of! My second son I had a Brampton civic hospital and I ended up with a emergency csection, and I was left high and dry right after and it didn't help that the Pandemic just started so my husband had to leave right after so I was left alone as soon as I could move my legs . I only had two good nurses!! My third child , my daughter I had at credit valley and I had to have a csection and I'm so happy I went back to credit valley hospital because Dr. Moore was amazing and the nurses o had even more amazing!!!! And Dr Mackinnon was amazing too , my daughter had to go to the NICU 48 hours after birth and they took care of her so well . The nurses there are absolutely amazing and made me feel good to actually get a bit of sleep while I was there !!! If I could remember all the nurses names who I got to meet I would because they deserve to be recognized!!! But unfortunately I was there for 5 days and was so tired that I can't remember which I feel awful about but just know the nurses in the birthing and labor and the NICU are all amazing!!!!
Amazing Hospital !! Doctors and Nurses are amazing. I had my daughter there on Oct 17th. Loved the hospital and the staff…labour and delivery wing is the best. Nurses are very caring. I really love the nurse who take care of me her name is Aneta. She was so gentle and too kind❤️❤️
I'm disappointed with CREDIT VALLEY HOSPITAL. Took my husband there today walked in ask the lady if there was a stretcher because my husband could walk or sit in a wheelchair they directed me to another department (emergency) went there explained myself again and was told he has to sit . I told her sternly he can't walk or sit , she walked away spoke to someone , then comes back and told me to call 911 if he needs a stretcher. Are you kidding my . Thankfully I went to some paramedics right outside explained to them what I was told . They were lovely men that helped us out . My husband is there and waiting to see a doctor. Something needs to be done asap to adjust these issues and problems .
Sadly the wait times are so long it’s often better to drive an hour out to another hospital.
Been here many times, also volunteered here in the past. Love the hospital, the only thing is when I was pregnant few of the doctors tried to push inducing early. Which I didn’t do and wouldn’t suggest you do either. Things should happen naturally, sometimes they want to induce early so they get you out of office early and can take in the next patient on the list. Other than that I loved my experience every time, it’s a hospital, things aren’t always gonna go smoothly - be understanding that we get free healthcare and it is what it is.
Never again.... some of the nurses are nice but alot of them are very very very rude. I will never come back to this hospital.
Worst hospital ever! I am a teacher and found myself in Emergency after a bad fall. I waited hours to get an MRI as I had a concussion. The doctor said "no" very quickly and I was told to call and make an appointment. This was my third fall and I was nauseous and very dizzy. How much worse was I suppose to be to warrant an MRI?! Very sad! I am embarrassed to be a Canadian that was born and raised here.
There is not any emergency I was stuck for two hours feeling hungry no one care and no one ask the patient what they feel. Too much disappointed with the medical service .
Nurses were rushed off their feet. Dr Lee'assisyant was very gracious
You can't call it emergency if they will not check you right away. This rate is not for nurses or doctors, they are trying to do their best.
Absolutely an amazing hospital I had a great experience with all the emergency staff! Had to do an emergency operations seen a doctor within 40 minutes. Surgery took 4 hours to start but every couple of minutes a doctor checked up on me and make sure I was okay. Best experience I had in Ontario hospital.
I arrived for covid-19 testing at the drive-thru assessment centre today (Sept. 28/21) and was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I was taken. There was only one car ahead of me and I was in and out within 10 minutes. My appointment was at 1:50 pm and although the hospital was crazy busy with sooooo many cars everywhere, the actual assessment centre was fairly quiet. The nurse was lovely and she is a real asset to Credit Valley Hospital.
Not sure who actually reads hospital reviews - but Credit Valley is a top tier hospital. They have taken covid precautions very seriously; they have an outstanding system for testing, and when I had to go to the emergency room a couple of days ago - I got the best care I could’ve asked for - with a relatively short wait time (I mean it’s a public hospital, you can only expect so much from that aspect). Lastly, I feel bad for the negative reviewers, it may not be as much of the quality of care; rather how poorly their health has become. Again, they’re not miracle workers; they’re doctor - humans. I hope you all feel better soon
Had baby June 2020. Labour nurse Theresa was fantastic. She was very encouraging and gave excellent care. Being a first time mom that really helped. The doctor and residents during delivery were excellent and coached well. However the nurses during my 24 hour observation after birth were horrible. I had one nurse ask me if I took prenatal classes *covid so classes were canceled but thats irrelevant.Very rude of her. I had another nurse refuse to give me an extra pad eventhough I really needed it. It just made things worse when spouses were not allowed to be present during the observation period due to the pandemic. It was hard especially for my first time having a baby.
The waiting times here are AWFULLY LONG, a true testament to the quality of Canadian healthcare. You will wait for SIX HOURS to see a physician (if you're lucky) in the emergency room, and they will spend 3 minutes with you, ask a couple of pointless questions and tell you to take Advil. It's ridiculous how BAD the service is on this hospital. They don't even assign a doctor to you in the first 4h after triage, and even infants are treated with little to no concern by nurses and staff.
This review is regarding diagnostic imaging department. First of all, right from security to initial reception to diagnostic reception to nurses/technicians all staff were professional and friendly. The MRI process is loud but I was given ear plugs and headphones to keep the noise down. I relate the noise to listening to loud techno music. The techs/nurses are in constant communication and I found the process to be very smooth. A big thank you to everyone at diagnostic imaging for your time and help with my MRI. For those who are about to have an MRI, it's not a long test and the staff will make everything as easy as possible.
Credit valley hospital one of the biggest hospital in Mississauga , a large area for paid parking as well a big parking building , the hospital organized from out side as it’s easy for wheelchairs to navigate easily and smooth, they have a drop and pickup place , two entrance one for emergencies the other one for the hospital, very clean hospital, staff are so friendly and kind , the hospital organized so you can find your way easily, also inside the hospital they have couple of tim Horton store , second cup store , gift shops, and convince store , also they have a parking payments machine you can pay when you are done with your visit or appointments, they have a seating area near the front door you can seat or have coffee or waiting , in general everything was perfect during my visit for CT scan , the imaging section so clean the staff on front desk was so kind and friendly , the CT scan nurse was really really friendly and helpful, overall I recommend this hospital, you can ask your family doctor to refer you to this hospital, thanks
Really appreciate that the hospital offers drive-thru COVID testing and that they have dedicated staff providing updates to people in line. That being said, they lose stars for no signage at the roads where the line actually starts (Eglinton Ave/Credit Valley Rd). Also, they lose stars for updating people and turning people quickly enough. I waited an hour before I finally got onto Credit Valley Rd and was told there are 200 patients ahead of me so estimated wait time is 6-7 hours which was the case all day yesterday (September 15). It could be the recent spike in cases and the fact people are returning to work but still I found that turn over a bit ridiculous given the spike was anticipated by all; thought they’d be even better prepared.
I'm writing this review on behalf of my brave, beautiful mom who passed away on September 11th while battling stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. I hope it can inspire anyone seeking Cancer support to please follow your instincts when you get the feeling your care is not being taken seriously. It can make a difference for your quality of support and length of life. My mom was only 63 years old, she wanted to live, she told me just 2 weeks ago she would never give up hope, but this hospital didn't consider that will to fight. We felt like they wrote her off as hopeless and made sure we felt that throughout her so called care. My mom deserved better care, and we deserved better compassion and understanding. I would never recommend this cold, unsympathetic and hopeless hospital for anyone's care.
The people whom we have dealt with over the years were all awesome. Always a very clean facility with the welcome of lil coffee shops and pizza restaurant at both ground floor entrances no hassle to grab something last min. for your friends family and or loved one (there is also a gift shop as well).???????????????????????????? Easily find your way around signs everywhere. I enjoy seeing the different artwork around .( Parking is an issue here )
I would like to be honest here that I really had good experience with some nurses. Delivery unit nurses were just awesome specifically (magda) and my doctor corbey they were great who kept me motivated when I was in labor. Maternity unit …
Loved the hospital and the staff…labour and delivery wing is the best. Nurses are very caring. I delivered last June 14th. I really love the nurse who take care of me her name is Nurse Patience she with nurse felly. She was so gentle and too kind❤️❤️ If i were to deliver again i wish i could have her as my nurse again❤️
Fracture clinic is ALWAYS triple over booked last time we were here he waited 3 hours to see the doctor even though we had a 10 am APPOINTMENT. Again we have another appointment and waited 2 hours. Absolutely ridiculous.
I was there actually twice in the last month. As far as hospitals go, and I do work at 1 in Toronto, it is very well organized as far as the triage and registration process goes. Staff are friendly and engaging. This hospital has very high volume throughout the day as it is only one of two hospitals in Mississauga. Overall my experience, both times at Credit Valley was rather expeditious and I left feeling better mentally then when I arrived. All hospitals are overwhelmed right now due to several reasons one obviously being covid-19! Nurses and doctors now are experiencing burnout! So over all my experience there was quite good. You have to be prepared for wait times as there are so many people that are ill in the hospital not just emerge. My advice is to go early!! The two times I went there I was there at 7:30 and 7am respectively. Both times I was through triage and registration quite quickly and then into a room. So like the old saying goes early bird gets the worm!
On November 25th, 2021 just before 9pm I was moved from The Care Centre to G1 where I was welcomed by a young boy nurse who was to take care of me that night. I asked to move the bed closer to the wall so asked me to get off the bed (?) so I did and he tried but didn’t move so said what was evident so I told him maybe better to get the wheel breaks off before so he did it and moved the bed. I needed the washroom so I asked him what to do with the fluids so he was lazy enough to not disconnect me nor provide a carry on holder but asked me to go holding the fluids in my hands. I found out almost impossible to use the washroom while holding the fluids as there’s no place there to hold it. Back to the room I told him the unacceptable experience and his answer was “I didn’t know”and that’s all. Then I found out the arm patch for the AV was bloody and bleeding so showed him who said it works so is fine. I asked to talk to his supervisor who confirmed that happens and nothing wrong with that. Well as a person coming from 2 days in ER also being in the same hospital the week before I knew that happens but what other nurses in ER did right away was to remove, clean and replace it. Not in G1 until I expressed my disappointment. I came from ER where fluids where provided all the time as per doctor’s instruction and they moved me to G1 same; however, after all the incident with the AV arm patch they haven’t connected the fluids at least until the time I’m writing this review. And the list of unacceptable incidents goes on making me very concerned about my health and safety while here in the G1 area at the Credit Valley Hospital and make them fully responsible if my health and safety is compromised.
The nurses and doctors are courteous and kind. The outpatient process was very supportive and efficient. We were equipped with all the resources to help us and after leaving.
Horrible wait times. Feels like a 4th world country when it comes to that. Slow staff using cell phones and chatting. 50% of the nurses treat infants in an improper way. Mind you there are some nurses that are nice but some of them horrible. The entire time she complained that they are short staffed. That doesn’t mean you treat us differently. Also when you have to wait hours in emergency, why dont you have an appointment booking system. App just lets us know its time. ITS HIGH TIME MANAGEMENT DOES SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. taxpayer money not used properly. Hire more staff. Hire cheaper doctors from overseas for all I care. RIDICULOUS!
If I could put 0 star, I would. I’ve had TWO specialist appointments cancelled by this disgrace of a hospital. July 11th I had a medical emergency that required attention, I was given medication and scheduled a specialist appointment for August 24th, a whole month and a half after. I struggled with pain and discomfort many times and eventually they had squeezed me into the clinic hours the beginning of August. This is when I saw Dr. Papnikolau, who is not the initial specialist I was supposed to see, he had been incredibly rude with me, barely gave me any medical advice and explained to me that he was not the surgeon to help me. No big deal, I decide to wait for my initial appointment on Aug 24 with Dr. Short. The day finally comes and I’m told that my appointment was cancelled, no phone call, no email, nothing and I’m told that Dr. Short won’t even fit me back in even though I’m in the waiting room begging! No explanation or anything given. Public relations and patient support were absolutely 0 help whatsoever, all I was told was to go back to my family doctor and get another referral. Funny enough, my referral came from the emergency department in the hospital. So that’s what I did, and unfortunately I had another medical issue, so I went to the ER again, and I was given ANOTHER referral to Dr. Short - which again was another month away. No problem. However, less than 24 hours before the appointment, I receive a call and am told that Dr. Short will be cancelling my appointment because I am “a patient of Dr. Papanikolau” even though when I had my referral made, I had special request that I DO NOT see Papanikolau again. I begged not to cancel the appointment again, and they said that it was already done. Patient relations was also 0 help whatsoever, they just said to go back to my family doctor and get a referral to a specialist outside of trillium health partners - so this is what they allow their doctors to do to patients? I have been in pain and discomfort for over three months now and this hospital has been nothing short of a nightmare. Absolutely disgraceful specialist team and brutal hospital.
Professional service provided by COVID-19 screeners, registration staff and all staff involved. Well-run hospital that takes care of patients.
I would never go there again if given choice. Worst nurses i have ever seen specially SID I don’t want to use her full name. Yea Private room Is charged for $300 but facilitates for $30 only. …
Completely incapable of taking care of patients with dementia, both in the ER and in general population. They won't allow a family member to stay and help due to COVID. They will provide you with basic information over the phone, such as "we can't find him, but we have a few people searching" (no mask, lost trolling around the entire hospital) or "no you can't bring him clothing because it has to be disinfected" (even though he's been in the same socks and underwear for a week); but it's virtually impossible to get any health related information from a Doctor. You won't know the diagnosis, you won't know when they might be able to leave, you won't even know if they are still in the hospital or laying in a frozen ditch somewhere; especially when you have a nurse telling you that they have to let them leave if they refuse treatment (because their medical proxy can't be there with them). I could go on ad nauseam, but also can't go on because it's too painful to talk about.
It’s 1:30pm on dec/14/2021 we come here in the morning 7:40am for my 2 year old son for Emergency and still waiting Well come to canada so call free medical county ????
Beautiful facility. I have had several experiences here. All very good. Everyone I have encountered is very professional, from reception to nurses. The doctors and surgeons have provided excellent care. And the volunteers are amazing!
I had such a terrible experience when I went to the ER for a eye abrasion, I was checked in a timely fashion but I had to wait 6 hours to see a doctor. Since no one would tell me why I had to wait over 5 hours to see the doctor, I actually left before the doctor showed up.
I went to ER due to a dislocated elbow. The attention was beyond expected. I was lucky that I got treated quickly and I had a very nice nurse taking care of me. The doctors were very diligent. The place looked cleaned and very organized in regards to covid safety rules.
While the experience at Credit Valley was good for the most part, we found that when they had to move my daughter from one room to another they should have waited for me to pack up her personal items. The nurse or staff that did pack her items left so many things that were quickly claimed by the other patient they then assigned to the room. Now we have to incur additional costs just to replace these personal items that were left behind and why I'm sure that hospital staff knows what belongs to them. If they had only waited 30 mins I could have done the full sweep of the room and pack up all the items that belonged to us. Not good for my first experience at this hospital.
Got pick up by ambulance Will and Kim, you men are incredible! Here is your “yelp” review, if I were able to give 10 ⭐️ you’d get that! Jessica
I've given this hospital several chances and I simply refuse to go here anymore. I'll take my chances going a little further to OTMH and risk dying than go to CVH ever again It used to be an amazing hospital, when I was younger I had really bad asthma and was in and out of the hospital with asthma attacks and never had a bad experience Over the past 6 years something changed and this place is a gong show I hope you guys can turn things around
You guys cause me more stress than anything. I thought you were supposed to be helpful. Instead, I'm left here feeling helpless and judged
This was an awesome experience unlike what I had expected Was a little skeptical before I went here for a few tests as recommended by my family doctor I think I made a wise decision by not taking my car and having to search for parking I had my spouse drop me and called an Uber for my way back This was actually an awesome experience right from the start Went in through the main entrance where the Covid protocol was really in place with being polite and helpful After my covid protocol they had someone help me I mean accompany me to where I had to go since this was my first time to this hospital All my tests were done properly and professionally following all the COVID protocols The cleanliness was excellent The employees very warm and friendly actually ready to help Every single employee had the time to answer my queries Every one of them were warm and helpful Though far from my home no regrets as this was a super awesome experience
Thank you Credit Valley Hospital for providing an excellent medical service during my delivery. The hospital was having strict rules regarding no visitors due to Covid 19 , my husband was not allowed during the labor assessment process i was afraid the whole time but the nurses in the labor assessment were very friendly and kept me relaxed and kept informing my husband about my condition.Once i was transferred to birthing suite the care was even more better and they took excellent care and my husband was allowed inside and the two nurses who were my guarding angels were Nurse Erica and Nurse Iva they were so sweet and kept monitoring me in labor.. the other best thing was my OB DR.Kerry Myckan she is the sweetest and most professional doctor she was very supportive and helped me throughout the procedure... I delivered a healthy baby girl and my entire journey of pregnancy to labor was safe and healthy thank you Credit Valley Hospital for providing and exceptional care and service ❤️
My second baby was born at Credit Valley hospital 4 years ago [today is her birthday). Very smooth delivery from A-Z. My wife recovered very quickly after C section. We went home 36 hours after delivery the baby. Feel fortunate to live in Mississauga.
6 hours sitting around in excruciating pain, not even able to sit. Not one person come up to me with any type of info or what's going to happen, just moved around about 6 times. What an absolute joke. Had to walk out without checking out because staff was M.I.A. hour passed my son's bedtime and no food in 8 hours. What a waste of my time
I'm really disappointed with some of the nurses at credit valley hospital! 50% of the nurses are very caring and the rest need more training to develop some feelings & compassion specifically for elderlies, who don't speak English. I noticed there's a lot of ignorance toward the elderlies. Half of the time when my mom calls for diaper change or water, they either forget about her or come 2 hours later, unfortunately the hospital is facing lack good passionate caring nurses.
I was a patient at the Credit Valley Hospital and have only positive things to say about the staff at the hospital. The care was absolutely outstanding and all nurses were very attentive. They always responded to my needs to ensure I was as comfortable as could be expected under the circumstances. They continually enforced the doctors requirements for exercises set for the allow me to be released as soon as possible.
I went to the facility this past Friday. The experience was good but not great. The nurses were polite but not very helpful. I needed assistance walking due to my issue but did not get it. A nurse almost ran into me while wheeling a patient in the ER and it was uncomfortable laying on a cold bed while patiently waiting to see a doctor. Though it was not a very bad experience, I do think that their is room for much improvement in terms of staff having better customer care skills. Thank you to the nurse on staff that night who attended to me.
I heard and read great things about Credit Valley Hospital regarding labour and delivery, and did not hesitate to choose them for my first pregnancy. I think I just had way too high of expectations as this is my first hospital stay and pregnancy ever as my experience was just 'meh'. I loved all the doctors/obgyns that I dealt with during my pregnancy. I love Dr Cohan & Menzie in the high-risk clinic, they both monitored my condition frequently and recommended the best course of action for my early delivery. Dr Tigert is the one who delivered my daughter via emergency c-section. I gotta give it to him because I'm a big time wuss so I was freaking TF out before my c-section and he still remained calm LMFAO He even took a few minutes of his day every morning to check up on me post delivery too. He's very sweet! And all the nurses who saw my incision were surprised at how nice it was :) My favourite part of my delivery was definitely the doctors, very knowledgeable and I felt very safe with every single one that I had the pleasure of meeting! What really made my experience 'meh' were some of the nurses post delivery. I was there for about 2 days and seen about 6 nurses and only 2 of them really checked up on me frequently and brought my pain killers on time. I'd barely see the other nurses and would have to ask for pain killers. I had hypertensive blood pressure and I was only checked for it about 3 times after delivery... I was a bit taken back with my post delivery experience as the nurses before I was induced were amazing and monitored my blood pressure every couple hours.. My daughter was also in the NICU - I am extremely grateful for all the nurses that watched over Rylee and got her strong enough to come home in just 2 weeks!!! Special shout out to Nurse Michelle, Amanda, Cheryl and Karen. They were always there when I needed help and it felt like they genuinely cared to inform/teach me anything I needed, which made me feel more confident as a first-time mom. I found Annabelle quite rude, I understand that she deals with many first-time moms but she needs to watch the tone she gives off because it can put moms down, and that's not very nice considering 'baby blues' exist. Another thing that really bothered me about CVH is that I was always told different information depending on which nurse I'd ask. 1) The most annoying was when I was told my support person during my labour can change after my daughter arrives into the NICU, so I had my mom as my support person during labour. When the time came, another nurse told me I couldn't change to my husband so my husband didn't even get to see my daughter until after she was released from NICU. Cindee from NICU tried to help my husband come in which I am extremely grateful for, but NICU never bothered to follow up with me. 2) I was told by my discharge nurse to go to L&D the upcoming Sunday and provide them my appointment paper. I arrive there on Sunday and was told that apparently L&D call me to let me know when I come in ?? 3) Dr Cohan told me that if I ever feel any symptoms, to go to L&D and tell them that I am a patient from the high-risk clinic and have pre-eclampsia and that I have high blood pressure, baby not active, etc. I get there and the nurse says that pre-eclampsia and baby activity are completely different things.. like ok??? I was literally told by an obgyn to mention my high blood pressure. The final straw was when my bill came via mail. I requested for a private room at $300 per day, and I only stayed there for 2 days = $600 right? I got a $2,100 bill? I had to contact them to request a break down and reminded them I only stayed there for two days at $300 per day. Luckily it was quickly resolved and I was re-sent a bill with the correct amount. Though the doctors are AMAZING!! I don't think I would be coming back here for any future pregnancies due to my experiences post delivery.
Terribly managed hospital, and the nursing staff except for a few are very rude and unsympathetic. The wait times are v long and the attitude of the staff is inexcusable.
My visit was not good. Waited hours to see a Dr. I was dealing with stomach pain. I got the assumption that the Dr. thought I was drug seeking. He did tests, didnt find anything, he released me as I was still in severe pain. I was crying in pain and all having a anxiety attack.. The nurse gives me my papers and said if I didn't leave soon I would be escorted out by security. I laid their and just cried. They told me if I wanted to see another Dr. I would have to start all over and wait hours to see another Dr. Still crying in pain , no one cared. Finally got to see another Dr. saw me shortly after I arrived back In the ER, immediately said I think I can help you with medications and within a hour I was feeling much better. I arrive there at 2:00 pm in the afternoon. Didn't receive any food until the next morning at around 8 am.This experience was very upsetting and had to deal with that pain for over 14 hours because the dr. thought I was seeking drugs. I was judged. I will avoid this hospital at all costs.
I was recently taken to the hospital by ambulance and admitted for a very bad bacterial leg infection. I was treated with so much respect and dignity it astounded me. Not that I have a bad idea of the hospital but during these recent tough times and everyone having such different ideas of how to manage the pandemic. I am not vaccinated nor am I intending to get it anytime soon. I do not have any issues with the idea or nor do I have any opinion of others that do take it. Due to my own issues with some health concerns I choose not to get the vaccine. I really did not want to go to the hospital because I never want to cause any issues with me not having the vaccine or do I ever want to get tested for covid. So I only go to work and back home out of respect for others. At work I am isolated from others and only do online shopping and grocery delivery. So when it became clear I was going to need to go to the hospital I was very worried. I had so much very understanding paramedics and they were so respectful of my choices and were very much the reason I let them take me. They were amazing and kept me calm and took really good care of me. I was in emergency for three days as I am not vaccinated and refused the covid test. It was difficult to find a spot for me. They did arrange a room for me and care was amazing. The nurses and doctors were so respectful and understanding of my choices and never treated me like they were angry with my choices. I was so grateful with the care and understanding that I got from all I was in contact with at the hospital. I had several tests done and each and everyone who did the testing and the porters who took me back and forth were all amazing and so respectful. I can not say enough good things about the hospital and staff of Credit Valley. I have been there a few times, once when I had the flesh eating disease and another time when I had my cancer surgery. Each time awesome care. So a huge thank you to the whole hospital staff. I cannot thank you enough for all the wonderful care I received.
Before 2 months, I had a poisoning problem, before knowing this, the emergency guy says you can get medicine for vomiting ????, and when I reached the hospital, dairhea, vomiting and the people kept me waiting for hours in a ruthless attitudes, and at the end I was wearing diaper and still vomiting when the doctors and other 2 inhuman nurses ask me to leave as she said there is nothing we can do, well I left in taxi with same embarrassing symptoms and went to my doctor cause that was early morning, he gave me 2 medication, I was just fine in one hour, thank you credit vally for the most good for nothing workers who are chatting instead of calling a doctor
The experience I had about two weeks ago giving birth to my first baby was exceptional (besides the long wait in the labour and assessment unit). Due to the pandemic, my husband was not able to join me until I was admitted to the birthing suite. The wait for a doctor to check on me in the labour and assessment unit was very long though. I waited approximately 4 hours until a doctor came to confirm that my water had broke. A COVID test was completed prior to me leaving as well. After having my baby via c-section, we had to stay for an additional two days so that me and my baby could be monitored. All the nurses and doctors that checked in often were very nice, caring, and attentive. They taught us so many things from breastfeeding, bathing the baby, etc. On the second night, my baby was being very fussy at night and wouldn't stop crying. One of the nurses came in and took her for a while so we could get some rest. That was much needed! After being discharged from the hospital, we were booked for a follow-up appointment which I didn't know was a thing. The appointment consisted of checking on baby's weight and how feeding is going. At the end of my two follow-up appointment's, the nurses would provide a summary of what needs to be done next in terms of feeding etc. I would highly recommend this hospital if you are planning to have a baby.
Worst hospital in GTA. I'm afraid to go myself or to send a loved one ever even in emergency to this hospital because its staff is rude, arrogant, and there is a lot of miscommunication and or disinformation on purpose to mislead the patients and their families. Have had the worst experience with administration, staff concerning not one but two loved ones at the same time! They purposefully neglect the senior citizens and leave them to die on their own because staff is never held accountable and they know there are absolutely no consequences no matter how immensely they neglect a patient. Shame on hospital management as justice is not served and no one is held accountable because it's a public hospital backed by government! What a shame and embarrassment for Ontario!
Born in this hospital and learned that it was so not clean when I hey arrived
We were just at your emergency since 7pm Nov3rd 2021. We are a family of 4 that includes My wife, 2 sons and myself. Our names are Babu Chowdhury, Rabeya Azmiry, Muhammad Chowdhury and Ibrahim Chowdhury. We were in a serious car accident. When we finally finished registration, triage and got to the room at around 12am. My children became thirsty and asked for some water. We paged a few times and asked for water. Finally after 30 minutes someone without a name tag approached us and said that we cannot have water for another 4-5 hours because they don’t know if it was ok for us to have any water. At that point I got up and said my children were thirsty and need some water. I said politely that we have water in our car and I would like to take them out for water regardless of what the doctor might recommend in 5 hours. When I reached near the waiting area. An unknown lady approached me and yelled at me in front of everyone and my children. I was surprised by this and insisted that my children simply need a little water. My wife explained that we weren’t told by anyone that we can’t eat or drink and for that reason we must give water to our children. The unknown lady yelled at me and started humiliating me and my children in front of everyone. At that point I told her that she needs to check her behaviour with patients and that I will give water to my children because it’s CANADA and she is violating my rights. She threatened to not let me back in the hospital and said that we would have to go through the whole process again. At that point a doctor came and said it was ok for my children to get water. My wife and I felt extremely uncomfortable to continue our treatment because of biases that could occur after the incident. We felt humiliated and thus we left with our injuries to go to another hospital instead. We have never experienced such a horrific treatment in our lives where people actually talk to someone else in that manner. My children were scared. Keep in mind they just had a near death car accident. All this Over some water. We left at around 12.45am and reached home by 1.05am. Everyone saw and heard what happened. I want to have this incident investigated and documented for legal purposes. I want to file an official complaint against that unknown woman. She needs to face disciplinary legal actions. You have cameras everywhere and I want to request a subpoena for the witnesses and the camera footages of this incident. Your google reviews are a testimonial to these sorts of treatment of patients and enough is enough.
Honestly I would give negative stars if I could. I came to this hospital earlier this week and had the most terrible experience. I woke up with severe stomach pain, so severe that I could barely walk or stand. To put things in perspective, I imagine the pain was similar to the pain of an ulcer or cyst. Good thing I have a high pain tolerance, otherwise I would have been screaming out in pain. I was driven to the emergency department where I informed the faculty about the severity of my symptoms. At this point I patiently waited to be sent into the actual waiting room to see the doctor. Now, I understand that emergency rooms tend to be slow, as I have plenty of personal experience with slow hospital emergency rooms and walk in clinics. I also acknowledge that with the coronavirus going around, there are extra precautions being taken to ensure the safety of all hospital staff and patients. I would still like to know why I sat in that hospital waiting room for countless hours after expressing the urgent pain I was in, with absolutely no attention. At one point I was physically hunched over in the uncomfortable waiting room chair sobbing in pain, rocking back and forth, trying not to cause an unpleasant scene. Every time the nurse came out to call upon a new patient, I made eye contact with each of these nurses several times as a cry for help because I physically could not stand or speak. These nurses made direct eye contact with me, saw that I was in unbearable pain, and continued to turn a blind eye and ignore me and walk away. I was beyond frustrated and I will never be returning to this hospital. One nurse was KIND ENOUGH to approach me after what seemed like an eternity of being hunched over in pain. She offered me "minor" pain killers and attempted to reassure me that I would be called upon next... so why were at least 3 other people still called before me? I knew the pain was so severe that a simple Tylenol would not ease the pain whatsoever. When I FINALLY got called upon and attended to by a doctor, they did blood tests, gave me strong pain killers, and did an ultrasound, and I was sent right back to the waiting room. Once again, pain killers did not work and I was back to being hunched over and crying in pain. Eventually another nurse approached me who was very kind and empathetic to me, which I had not experienced all day from any other professional working there. I explained to her that I could no longer stand to sit up and all I wanted to do was go home and be in bed as it had been at least 8 hours at this point, still no answer as to what was wrong with me, and that the painkillers had failed to work and my experience that day was just overall so unpleasant. She apologized and attempted to get the process moving along faster. She told me it would be another at least 45 minutes before the results from my ultrasound would be available after already waiting over an hour and so I immediately broke down due to pain and frustration. Long story short, I went home finally 8 hours later after being told they could not conclude anything from the tests, which obviously is nobody's fault, and received a prescription for "gas build up" I went to this hospital for assistance and had the most terrible experience of my life and I will never return. From how much pain I was in and the lack of attention, I concluded that going there in the first place was the biggest waste of time when I could have been in bed resting and overall just much more comfortable. Terrible experience and will never return. Worst emergency room experience I've ever had and I didn't think any experience could be worse than my previous ones.
Been getting Rad and Chemo treatment myself here, and it's been a wonderful experience. It's helped with my own outlook being treated by such consummate professionals.
I really disappointed with the DR. PHIL ZHANG (pediatrician). I have a 7 months old baby who is suffering from diarrhea. Yesterday i went to hospital with my child . I wait for the doctor almost 3-4 hours and the most disgusting thing is when doctor came he said if baby has diarrhea more than 5 days then come back to hospital. Baby is dehydrated and baby has severe rashes he did not prescribed anything. He left the room within 30-40 seconds.we were waiting for so long time and he left within seconds. He did not listen to me properly. Doctors are like god and they are life saving but here they are just playing with the lives. If they are doing this with the small child , then god knows how they treat with other patient. Its a request please take it seriously because its in your hands to save someones life or not.
I was in this hospital in emergency department. Wery nice staff and polite attitude. I was happy with their service.
My experience is waiting in Emergency area for 3 hours and waiting for Doctor for 3 hours. I called a nurse because i did ask how long i must wait for Doctor. A nurse explained that there was Doctor called in sick, another Doctor just start work shift, 5 patient ahead of me. My wife is not allowed to accompany me and wait for me outside parking lot for too long hours. I am speechless.
Amazing hospital loved this place . they were so quick . and proper covid protocols followed out here.
I thought i would share my experience at the hospital a couple weeks ago during a pandemic. I was told to come to the emergency department because it showed I might be having a miscarriage. This was my first pregnancy and my husband wasnt even allowed in. I was basically going through this alone. My anxiety was through the roof!! I was crying the whole time being in the hospital. Praise God.... i had Caroline as my nurse and Dr. Hu as my doctor. They were compassionate...understanding...comforting. They made me feel safe. My nurse checked up on me often and made sure that if i needed her to just be there, that i could call her to come to the room. And my dr answered any question I had and never judged me that i was a nervous wreck. So grateful i had a safe and comforting experience.
This has to be the worst Emergency Room in any hospital. I came it at 3:55 and it's now 7:10pm. Other people who have come after me has already been admitted to go see a a doctor. This hospital is disorganized and has no sense of urgency. I regret coming to this hospital as I'm still waiting to be seen.
Absolutely thrilled with the care and communication by my mother in laws oncology and palliative care teams. We have been on this journey for over 18 months starting at another hospital then moving to Credit Valley. In the last three or so weeks I have had more communication and help with her needs than in the 18 months at another facility. There have been a couple problems along the way but both the medical and patient relations teams have acted swiftly to resolve them.
If you are ready for wait for endless time lying on hospital bed without any treatment then you should come here. Better go to any nearby walk-in clinic.
I am currently sitting in the diagnostic imaging department awaiting an MRI. Let me begin by saying that I got called in yesterday for an MRI due to a cancellation. I was told my MRI would be at midnight however was told to be here at 2330. I then got a call at 330pm to confirm my 2400 MRI, again was told to be here at 2330. I showed up at 2325 tot he DI department where I was registered by very unprofessional and unsympathetic person? Nurse?tech? She proceeded to tell that they were 3 hours behind, while that is understandable I asked her why they hadn't called me to let me.know, instead I drove for 30min from north Brampton. She then proceeded to tell me that I could reschedule or come back later. So I asked her about coming back at 0230 so 3 hrs later. She then told me to be here for 130 cause I needed to be here 1hr prior...???.... Otherwise they wouldn't do my scan. I work in the medical field, I am a nurse and would never be so unsympathetic, no apology was offered, nor a proper response. There was another gentleman in the waiting area also upset because now he has to wait until 5am for his MRI due to the 3hr lateness, and the same person at the reception told him that if he went to his car, cause I assume he wanted to try and sleep, security would t let him back in, that is such nonsense. I expect the Manager of this unit to speak to the staff about proper "bedside manners" and handling of their tardiness appropriately.
Loved the hospital and the staff…labour and delivery wing is the best. Nurses are very caring and OB gyn the best.
Easy going. Don't come to the hospital if you want to run marathons. I see so many patients like myself that just wants to get out. goes both ways Respect goes both ways. I had to learn to be patient because things move slowly but they do move.
Terrible experience, it took approximately SEVEN HOURS for the doctor to reach me in an EMERGENCY was wondering what would have happened in regular situation. Worse services ever seen even worse than third world countries. Are we living in so called first world country especially in medical field. Definitely needs care to be taken very seriously.
"I have been an employee at Trillium Health Partners for 11 years and was recently threatened with termination regardless of Doug Ford's comment that vaccination is not mandatory. As a Hospitality Associate I willingly worked every day of this "pandemic" to serve the public and support my fellow coworkers. As of December 21st I will no longer have a job to support myself and my family. I am disgusted in the management and HR department for not standing for what is RIGHT. These people have lost all my respect."
The emergency unit is understaffed to the point that going to the pharmacy for Tylenol to lower your child's fever is more efficient than waiting on a nurse to bring Tylenol for 4 hours and even when requested by the ER doctor. Triage will check temperature once at check-in and you need to remind them because they're busy. Bring a thermometer with you to the hospital. If you have a sick infant or toddler, please do not go to this hospital. You might end up exposing your little one to covid-19 or more serious viruses. Monitor symptoms, get a covid test at a test center and see a pediatrician. Please go to a different hospital, they don't even read these reviews. The nurses are exhausted and stressed. Please hire more staff.
My sis had to take her 2 kids, both with fever to go see a doctor. But the (very rude and lack of compassion) lady said they couldn't see the doctor because "they didn't have chest pain". We're not sure what to make of this but if a child …
Terrible experience. Won't let you visit your family that is dying. No compassion for elderly who can't speak English. Vicky Sharma Vermani is a terrible manager who instructs staff to call security and police officers on family members who are trying to visit their families in their dying moments. Nurses are miserable and hate their jobs. They take out their frustrations on patients. No ethical guidelines are followed. Staff think because they work for hospital they're God. They need to understand they're employed by tax payer money. This place needs to investigated
Worst Hospital, Staff & Doctors are not good and not cooperative and they are not merciful, no kindness & no humanity. I brought my wife in Emergency by Ambulance around 11 p.m. around 2 hours they didn't check her. After 2 hours they did couple of test now is 4:50 a.m. still waiting for Doctors! no Doctor there in Emergency. She was crying because of Pee no one came to help her. She called me and I called on Hospital phone number and was connected after 13 minutes in Emergency Department, I requested them than Nurse took her washroom and gave her Emergency call button. I'm sitting in the Hospital Parking Lot waiting for her call to take her home. They didn't allow me to go with her, always she need assistance I requested them to go with her but they didn't allow. Doctors did 2 Surgeries same time one by one on July 5th and she was in 1A Surgery Ward till July 8th that was also very bad experience. In starting Doctors planned 2nd Surgery will be 3 weeks after 1st Surgery. 1 Surgery was not very important, why they did 2 Surgeries sametime no idea. She is pain and got infection. Trillium Hospital Queensway & Hurontario hundred times better than this Credit Valley Hospital. I'll request to Health Officials and Mayer of Peel Region please keep check and balance in this Hospital. More to come, not finished yet! My wife still inside the emergency, she called me and said waiting for Doctor. Now is 5:11 a.m. still sitting in the Hospital Parking Lot. I'll continue! My wife called me just now. Heavy bleeding started, Nurse told to my wife wife we can't do anything you have to wait, Nurse said we have only 1 Doctor, wait for your turn. Since 11 p.m. till now 5:35 a.m. what a hospital! My wife has fever and cold, they are not giving her blanket or sheet. Nurse said we have 1 blanket and 5 sheets already given to others, no sheet or blanket available in Credit Valley Hospital Emergency Room in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. She is shaking because if cold. Let her die!!! Very good morning for me and my family. Thank you Bonnie Crombie, Doug Ford and Health Minister. Still sitting in the Hospital Parking Lot waiting for thier call, they will say come and receive your wife body. Shame on Credit Valley Hospital Management. 5:40 a.m.
I would recommend anyone to go to this hospital for emergency over the disgrace Oakville Trafalgar. Yes Its not perfect and can use improvements but its a hospital after all. People need to understand that wait times can be long because there are people with life threatening conditions meaning that if they do not get immediate help they'll die. There are several people who clog up the ER with non emergency issues who can see their family doctor complain about long wait times.
The worst hospital in the world. My mom waited 6 hours in the ED and no doctor came.
I was in so much pain and went to ER on the 6th of January early Morning. I waited for about 4 hours to be seen by a doctor, which I would rate 3 stars. But once the doctor came, things changed. Dr. Chang Lu and his assisting nurse (sorry...can't remember her name) were very professional, did the procedure in less than 10 minutes and I was relieved completely. They made me feel comfortable even though I was crying in pain.Actually, their professionalism made me post this review. 5 stars for them. Moreover, the Hospital follows COVID-19 protocol.Everything was fine except for the wait time.
It depends on which department you're in. I'm pregnant and have been at the hospital since 3pm yesterday and it's now 1pm today. No food and only water with ice has been offered to me in the ER. The ER nurses are great based on where you are. Ward A has the best but the quality of nurses goes down as you move through the alphabet. When I'm in pain no one is around. I understand they're busy but it's frustrating I feel helpless. You won't be released until you see a Dr and I've been waiting 4 hours and counting for one. It's sad I hate this pandemic and I hate the toll it's taken on hospitals.
All praise to Allah !"A BIG THANKS" to Credit Valley Hospital for their efforts to save my father's life, who was in life and death situation and being on ventilator for 22 days.Special Thanks to ICU department, Nurse Brendon and his collaboration with his then doctor........ Dr. Varun I believe..., had brought my father back to life. Can't Thank enough to them????. Dr Kumar's team and all the ICU staff including all specialists who was there with him ..who took critical decisions for him , The unit 1C nurses and doctors..Dr. Barboza , the intern doctors especially Dr. Yousaf, all had done their best! After ICU my dad (Mohammad Baig) had spent big chunk of his recovery time at Unit 1D(The rehabilitation ward) ...they all were fabulous! Trust me guys each and everyone of them are trying their best to save patients life. Our Family will always be in gratitude for your services.
I had an incredible experience delivering my baby at Credit Valley! Every single nurse and doctor that I interacted with was so kind & reassuring to me as a first time mom. I was induced & that whole process was a little frustrating (having to go back and forth, waiting all day & night for their call) but I’m not sure who is in charge of that. I assume higher-ups. The hospital was clean, quiet, and again, the nurses were incredibly kind & patient with me. If I ever decide to have another baby, I’d definitely go back there!
I went to do my biopsy, the doctor and nurses were the best one they were kind humble I selute them and thank them what they did . My only complaint is about the male receptionist I went there on time first he didn’t let me sit where all the women were waiting for the biopsy or mammogram he said wait outside the room and then said we are running late so you have to wait and people those came after me were going before me he put me at the last i waited one hour and 15 minutes and the biopsy took another hour by the time I was done and reached my car another half hour and don’t forget that i have to pay the parking, just because he didn’t like my appearance he judged me of my hijab and didn’t act as a professional receptionist
My 86yr old mother was sent from her retirement home to emergency at 1pm today. At 4:45pm, I contacted the emergency department to find out her status and was transferred SEVEN times to different “areas” of the emergency dept where my mother supposedly was. I’ve been to the emergency department several times - it’s not that large! I spent a total of 69 minutes on hold at the various “departments” only to be hung up on at what they stated was the correct nursing station. I am a healthcare professional myself and am disgusted every time I take my elderly (86 and 90yrs old) parents to this hospital. Rude and ignorant emergency registration staff and nursing staff at the front desks make this an absolutely miserable experience. I don’t know how to nicely explain that YOU work for US - Ontarians pay your salaries! We don’t want to hear you laughing and carrying on in the hallways and complaining about your jobs when our loved ones are in pain. What is wrong with you and why did you go into medicine if this is your attitude! To the Chief of Staff of the Emergency Department, please, please, please fire staff that are systematically rude to patients and their families and educate others on customer service. You badly require courses in customer service from the US in order to understand the plight of patients and family members and other courses in showing respect to people. The problem lies in the fact that unionized staff can practically kill people without being fired. This has got to stop. To the rude young receptionist in the diagnostic imaging department of the hospital, you may remember me bringing my 90 year old father in for a chest X-ray last week - you are beyond rude and ignorant to the needs of patients. Telling me to “get off my phone” when I was simply checking my texts while you typed away doing whatever you were doing was absolutely astounding. You work for me, and I work for two companies AND still take care of my parents. Shame on you!
Good service and great doctors but waiting time is too long.
I was in the emergency department for mental health. The nurses and security guards constantly talked extremely badly about the patients. One nurse actually said, that the patients mom was "crazy" and he can see where the son gets it from. They made fun of me for sitting on the floor and laughed while asking if I was "praying". I'm guessing this assumption was made because I have brown skin. I won't bother reporting it because ALL the staff were making comments like this so how can I report them all? Regardless, it was incredibly hurtful and I feel traumatized. I'm in so much pain from this experience as i am a vulnerable person and I'm diagnosed with severe mental illness
All i can do was cry the doctor there did nothing walked in saw my history of having tonsilitis for 6 weeks and said go to your family doctor after making me wait 6 hours. She didnt even want to test me for covid or any virus indicators. Makes me not want to pay my taxes no one in the hospital wanted to work. Trust me i would pay 10 000 dollars up front to fix this. Might have to make my way down south.
My nose doesn't hurt painful while I went there to covid test in parking area. But it's very good
We have had long waits, but at the end we leave the hospital satisfied, we'll take care of and supported. 11 yrs old resident.
Worst hospital of all time. Treated my wife and 11month old baby like complete garbage for no reason. Burn it down.
The best emergency care I have ever received from a hospital. They were very organized and efficient today. Dr Leung on duty was very caring
Just had an MRI for first time and everyone in the Diagnostic Imaging department were really nice, helpful and answered all my questions. It was easier than I thought.
-1 for the staff in emergency department, the lady at the desk (1st desk- around 6:40pm, Jan 2e, 2022) was so rude and unhelpful. 5 stars for the nurses and doc and other staff.
Covid treatment: I was hospitalized with low oxygen and rapid growth of blood clots in my body and a very young, knowledgeable, handsome and dedicated Dr. Josh Levitz with his team Kristhine and Anna brought me back to life. I was scared and skeptical to go to the hospital but choosing credit valley was life saving decision. Please don't wait too long to make your case complicated, people are dying because they are taking too long to go to the hospital. There is covid treatment available by covid specialists like Dr Josh Levitz at credit valley hospital. Love my heroes Dr Josh, nurse Kristhine and nurse Anna. Thank you for saving my LIFE????????
My wife delivered our baby at Credit Valley and we are so happy that thus was the hospital where it took place. The staff from nurses to doctors are equally enthusiastic and helpful. The hospital is kept clean and appears to be maintained often. I recommend Credit Valley.
I came here at 31 weeks pregnant with some serious complications. I was immediately cared for by the nurses and doctors in the maternity ward. Under the amount of stress and fear I was under they made sure I felt safe, heard and that they were doing what they felt was the best for me and my baby. The team of nurses and doctors who looked after me for the time that I was in the hospital were just beyond amazing and that’s something I will never forget. The NICU nurses and doctors are just as amazing and care about mommy and baby. They have been supporting my partner and I through the entire process. Thank you for your services and for keeping me and my baby healthy. I have been to many hospitals, but this was the first time I left a hospital feeling like I got the care that I needed.
Excellent service from Doctor and nurse....I feel like home at the time of delivery and care from them
Came to the hospital at 6pm on February 8 2021 with my 16 yearold daughter because we think she has broken 2 fingers she has a high tolerance for pain . We sat in triage for 2 hrs. People came and went but we stayed there. I asked what's going on and they said she will be taken when its her turn. I said we've been here for 2hrs others have came and gone not her time. 830pm they call and move us to another waiting room Care Center E. We waited in this area for 30 mins only to be but in another room. Once in this room we waited for 3/4HR to see the doctor then had to go for xrays which took about 20 mins. Then back to the room to see the doctor again where we wait for about 1/2hr, at this point we've been here for about 5 1/2HRS. THIS IS A JOKE? WHY DID WE HAVE TO WAIT 3 1/2 HRS to see a doctor I understand covid-19 and protocol but come on. On the other hand once we got inside the nurses and doctor was really good and fast. The problem i have is the wait in Triage over 2 1/2 HRS thats a little bit to much time. Only because someone messed up and would not admit it.
Very polite staff; I'm not sure how people find the staff here rude
I came here to get an injection for 4 hours they transported me from the waiting room to the waiting room ... 10 people I met here 1 was kind. Disaster !!! I should get the injection every 8 hours between the first and the second dose 9 hours apart between second and third 6 hours ????????????
Okay so this review is strictly for labour and delivery, I can’t speak for any other unit.. but L&D was fantastic! I had a pretty traumatic labour and delivery but the doctors and nurses there never failed to keep me calm and make me feel safe.. I’m normally an extremely anxious person so this says a lot about the staff if I didn’t once have a panic attack in their care. Baby kept going into distress because he was wrapped in his cord, as soon as Dr. Myckan was the new doctor on call things moved a lot faster.. all the doctors are awesome but she was my favourite because of how sweet she was when everything was happening.. we had to do an emergency c section and she told me exactly what she was doing as she was doing it and kept reassuring me that everything was going to be okay, she made sure to calm me down when my baby’s heart rate went back up and she made sure nurses were keeping my husband updated until they were able to bring him into the operating room! I have to respect a doctor who is literally cutting me open yet still peaking over the curtain every few seconds to make sure I’m doing okay! AND she even came to check on me the next morning too! Great doctor! I’m mainly leaving this review because I don’t understand why there are so many horrible reviews about these doctors when my experience with them was just fine! Stop scaring other women who are going to have their babies at credit valley because I was terrified for this reason and they ended up being amazing :)
Absolutely worst hospital experience I could ever have ! Sitting outside crying still wondering I’d I had a stroke 3 hours later ! The staff was more than rude , no empathy for any of the patients there , including small children vomiting for hours! Nurses were extremely rude if the moms even inquired on timing etc . In the middle of a pandemic no social distancing enforced at all! Well except for the staff that’s protected. They did not separate people with COVID symptoms from those with injuries etc in the emerg like they did at the beginning of Covid. If you are seeking good care in less than 9-10 hours go somewhere else . Extremely disappointed in our healthcare system and humanity to say the least .
the Emerg Dept responce is a joke. My son was in to Emerg in major distess from post-Covid complications and on one visit it took 4 hrs to see a doctor. the next visit was 6 am and the place was empty, it still took 5 hrs to see a doctor. This response timeline is disgusting
Always a terrible long wait.... make you come in 15 minutes early for the scheduled appt just to have you wait around 3 hours
Worst experience ever, people there(with couple exceptions) are heartless machines, no compassion what so ever. They treated our son like bag of potatoes and kept saying that hi is little and he will forget. It is heart breaking watching them performing procedures without care and patience. Every time you question them they get angry and label you difficult. If you need help please go somewhere else and i hope you get better care.
I am very happy and impressed with the Credit Valley Hospital health services. My specialist has been very accommodating, patient and kind. In all my appointments with him, he has given me his full attention and is very professional. I find that the secretaries are also very friendly and welcoming. I was pleasantly surprised with the efficiency in my recent COVID testing at Trillium Health Partners at the Credit Valley Hospital. We had a nurse whom made my husband and I feel very comfortable and valued. Credit Valley Hospital always exceeds my expectation in terms of the Health Services provided by the Staff members. All Staff members including the parking attendant are so helpful and friendly. I truly feel like the Staff members at Credit Valley Hospital put their patients first.
Great patient care!! Doctors , nurses and all the caregivers are professional, polite and compassionate. I was here for my unfortunate miscarriage and received the best care. Hopefully one fine day I will go again for my happy delivery .. If you are looking for the best OBGYN and the best labor care then this is your hospital ....
I recently started working with trillium 5 months ago. I had a shift at this hospital. The nurses had no clue about what my position was. I had to explain to them what my position was & my scope of practice as a care assistant. Other hospitals call them Health Care Aide , Patient Care Technician, or Personal Care Attendant. I felt stressed out but luckily, the externs were nice to me and showed me around the unit. Overall, I did not feel welcomed as a fellow employee by the nurses.
