Over 5 hours waiting in the car for my fiancé when she is pregnant, her arms and legs are numb and the nurse got mad at her and told her to leave... I highly recommend going to a different hospital. I can’t believe the unprofessionalism of this place.

honeybadger dont care (honeybadger dont care)

I had a problem with my urithra and could not pee at all. Waited about 3 hours to get in when I was in very bad pain. Finally got a room and waited another hour to even see a doctor. Now the doctor finally came in ask what was wrong i told him what the problem was he had a look and asked me what do you want me to do about it. I was in shock he sad he can get a specialist in but that may take 8hr so he left and so did I. I think the doctors at this hospital are very rude and don't really know what they are doing not very happy with the service

Lowell C

Like most Canadian emergency rooms.... slow!

Arianna Kent

Most unprofessional staff who show 0 compassion for concerned family members during uncertain times. I could go on about so much more, but what's the point. Everyone knows this place is terrible and shouldn't even be considered a hospital.

Jacqueline

Had a horrible experience, came in with 2nd degree burn and I have darker skin, every doctor/nurse told me I was “fine” and to put polysporin on it and that it wouldn’t scar or get worse, the nurse put the sticky part of the Bandage RIGHT ON my burns and as soon as I got home it got 10x worst, the bandage ripped open my blister and I have so much scaring it’s crazy. IF YOU ARE A PERSON OF COLOUR I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING THERE. THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO TREAT PEOPLE WITH DARKER SKIN.

Sean Boucher

There are three hospitals in the city that I recommend you do not go to Strathcona County Northeast Community Health Center in the grey nuns all three of them of the worst Services imaginable I've been told off by people for no reason

Been there a lot - two kids and two 89 year old parents in my house. Always glad to have such a modern and convenient facility in Sherwood Park. Always received best care possible and was treated with consideration and respect. It is unfortunate that it isn't a full hospital that can admit patients and keep them for a day or more, delivery babies, do minor surgeries, didn't have to send blood to the UofA Hospital for crossmatching, etc. All it really is is an emergency room that can't even get you admitted to another hospital. If you need to be hospitalized you have to go wait at another emergency room.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to all the nurses and doctors (Dr. Sarah R.) who work here. They made sure that every thing is okay before they discharge me. This was my second emergency visit here and all the staff were friendly and very professional. Yes, there was a long wait which I truly understand as patients are being triage by the nurses depending on the urgency. I witnessed some patients being rude to nurses due to long wait which I hope they should not do. We are all in pain, that's the reason why we are there. We should be thankful because every day they come to work and risk their lives to see and attend patients' concerns specially this pandemic.

I have maybe visited this "hospital" 5 times since it has opened and every time I go my experience is worse. The nurses do nothing but complain about how busy they are to their patients. They are rude and seem annoyed if you have questions and you wait around for hours without anyone checking in on you. The rooms are half empty while the waiting room is packed and nurses stand around chatting. I understand it's an emergency room and you will have to wait but is it so hard for the nurses to check in or let you know what's going on. You get better care at the major hospitals in edmonton who are 10x busier. The only good thing about this place is free parking!

ALBA Family

This hospital kind of far , coz we live in Edmonton , but we like the service, its my first time bring my sister to do the Xray to the hospital, is a hood service, no wait too long, all the stuff is kind, and help full , very recomended ????????????????

R S

Great experience! Awesome staff with Dr. Fingard and his staff Gordon, Julia, and Ken! Made my mom feel at ease for her CT enterography.

Jason Fakeley

I would rather go to a vet. Three times being there and terrible experiences everytime. Waited 4 hours to be told I was called 3 times. I was sitting 15 feet in front of triage.. I would never go back.. super poor service

Eth

A really good hospital, super nice, but can not do anything major, since Sherwood Park is considered a hamlet we do not get full benefits and if you need something more intense than this hospital can handle you will be sent to Edmonton, but if you broke your arm or did some minor injury or need immediate attention this hospital should do the trick, but they do make you dispose your mask for there mask even if they have higher protection

KAJ-KAJ-33

Poor service

Ingrid Holliday

Waited over four hours we got a room and not once did the nurse check on my daughter. At 4:15am we left without ever seeing a Doctor or nurse. ????

Maria Sumalinog-Fawcett

Nurse Gordon reminded my mom and I of Robin Williams. What joy he is to be around! Ken Bailey and Angela Gard also were kind and friendly to my mom as she had to have her CT Scan done.

Ron Lyons

Very pleasant, positive and professional staff. It made my CT Scan a pleasure to go through. They took care of everything quickly and communicated all of the steps to me as we progressed to get the CT Scan. Thank you all so much!!

Joshewa McKeever

They took us in quickly, were very friendly. However we've now been in this hospital for over 15hours with absolutely zero answered, absolutely zero meals, absolutely zero drinks. We should have just stayed home, atleast at home we could have eaten, drunken, and slept in comfort and we'd know just as much without these "doctors"

Michelle Irsheid

Horrible. The first nurse who did my triage was very kind, once I got to the back I was treated very poorly. I came to this hospital as another doctor told me I needed to go to emergency. I did and then was not tested for what I was there for but, instead tested for something else.

Ashley Scott

Been waiting for over 2 hrs when wait times said half hour ... everyone that has come after me has gotten to go in ..it's like I'm being ignored or they lost my file or something this is a joke like it's not important like I'm not in need of medical attention

Vanessa Chappell

Me and my friend went her just to get her ear looked at it took 2 hours just to go into the room. She told us to go to another room and someone will be with us shortly three hours later we get in. The person we were waiting with hasn't even seen a doctor in the span of three hour this is ridiculous.

Jeffrey K

Top notch hospital for a semi rural area. Nice doctors and super sweet nurses.

Patrick Burneau

I have been here for 3 hours...and nothing

Jolene K

Rude nurse working emerg desk. Was told I'd need xrays, I asked about how long it would be cause I was curious if I should call off my upcoming shift, to which the doctor said "you're REALLLY complaining about wait times right now?" And i said, "no, I'm asking?" To which she stared at me like I had just told her I was from Mars... not to mention, a lady being checked in ADMITTED to having tested positive for covid AND having been in contact with a probable case and never being retested, and they let her sit with everyone else in the emergency room.

S Khan

Brought my daughter here today because her doctor insisted we take her in to get her abdominal pain checked out. Literally waited here for 4 hours and got nowhere. There was zero patient care and zero empathy. Leaving here now and going somewhere else. After 3 hours of patiently waiting,I went up to the nurse to see what was taking so long and just said she would put her in a different line. Waited another hour and we gave up. I understand emergencies come first but sitting there watching literally everyone else get called in and not us, makes me think that the hospital really does not know how to prioritize their patients. Overall cleanliness and amenities in the hospital were good, that's why I'm giving it 2 stars.

Faith Maier

I got in quickly and the doctor investigated my illness thoroughly, giving me the required tests and more.

Kerry Pitt

I took my wife for a Cat Scan yesterday morning. We arrived at 7 am and they had a screening table up, as they should, but the young lady asked nothing of us. She did not seem to understand what she was supposed to do. Is this because Kenney terminated Health Workers and now the hospitals are staffed with assistants? This young lady was nice enough, I don't believe it is on her. We washed our hands, I had already put on new masks, we had been nowhere that put us in any contact with Covid. She told us how to get to Imaging. There the nurse noted the absence of stickers on us (Visitor or Patient) which we had not been given. She did our screening right there and was a bit upset that the previous person had not. She never said anything just her tone of voice. So we got the scan done very quickly, a friendly Tech named Gordon. We left, nobody was at the screening table. I'm not complaining we are adults we were responsible enough but I worry about this young lady at the screening table, with aggressive people we are seeing. She was alone.

Brian Sandberg

Nothing special about triage. Same kind of waiting your expect from any other ER. I can only praise the therapists....Visited me in the ER in a timely manner. Caring, informed and by no means, "Just doing there job". They get 5 stars. As for the ER and triage. 1!

Pursuit of Truth

Great hospitality, and very caring doctors and nurses. We need more facilities in the health care field who operate like this. Definitely would recommend to anyone who wants to go to a facility to be comfortable, and know they are getting the best care around.

Lauren Beson

Went to ER last Friday for an infection, followed by a week of IV therapy. Both the ER nurses and the IV clinic nurses are by far the sweetest people ever. By the end of my visit I felt like I was at home. Recommended to anyone who requires people who care. 45 minute drive or not, I will go there over any of the 5 hospitals within 20 minutes of me.

Kaylee Cheladyn

I received treatment here for a staph infection that had developed on my face. I was seen by ER staff and IV therapy staff, as well as a specialist. The IV therapy staff were incredibly kind and caring, and answered all of my questions. My specialist, Dr. King, was incredibly sweet and funny, and eased my worries about my infection. Overall, I received excellent care from the staff here. The facilities are very clean, and everyone (including security and janitorial) was very kind.

Shylie Lenton

I've had 2 horrible experiences here.. honestly, if you can go somewhere else, do it. Although it's convenient because it's close, it's just not worth the headache. Stay away!!

KATE C.

They were so good to me...it must be tough to be nice to every grumpy sick person so I commend them on great bedside manner

Adam Sigaty

The emergency branch is the definition of a joke, the longest wait time I personally have ever experienced while being in the emergency unit was 4 hours. I thought it was supposed to be the emergency unit??? Their wait time is some sort of game to them, none of their own workers knows when you’ll be able to be seen by a a doctor. My parents had a pleasant time met with kindness. I was met with dirty looks, rude manners, and overall a lack of caring. They do not care there. Witnessed a man sitting with half of his finger in his other hand and was forced to wait over 1.5 hours. One of the worst ran hospitals I possibly have ever witnessed.

Tejinder singh

Good community hospital nice and calm location 24 hours open

Paula P

Had to have a CT scan and have never been treated better! The team was very welcoming and so informative during this very stressful time in my life. Thank you!

Luana Juknies

I went there because I heard a pop when I was coughing from really bad bronchitis, after a 6 hour wait I finally got in to a room, they did x-rays and a nurse came in and said I was fine. I was bawling like a baby and couldn't hardly breathe, I never even got to see a doctor:| So the next day I went to my GP and he sent me straight to the Grey Nuns, they gave me a shot for the pain immediately, did x-rays and found 2 broken ribs. It was a horrible experience, I spent all night crying.

Veronika Zarnoch

I am forever grateful to this hospital! I went to emergency and thanks to the emergency physician Kevin..we got to the bottom of my debilitating anxiety. I have gone to so many professionals for assistance with this issue, and my family and I have been through MUCH hardship through it as time and time again no one was able to help. But Kevin was the one who actually helped me rise above it and get a handle on it! He took the time to sit with me, educate me and answer all my questions. He did not take the easy route, he treated me as a unique individual with curiousity and willingness to understand to help me not wind up in the Emergency Room for the same reason again! I also had a fabulous nurse who treated me like a human being with compassion and made sure I had water, was as comfortable as possible etc..even though I entered the hospital as a highly stigmatized population. Thank you so much everybody! You really made a difference in my life, and I'm brought to tears writing this with how grateful I am.

I am not normally one to write reviews, but in this case, I felt it necessary to review for such an extremely positive experience. I have been helping my 82 year old Father-in-law for the past year with his many trips to the hospital, doctors and clinics. On Wednesday, July 18th, 2018, my Father-in-Law had a scheduled CT scan with contrast at the Strathcona Community Hospital. Over the past 4 years I would have to say that I have been involved or assisted with family members in about 140 doctor or hospital visits. I can honestly say that, of all the visits we have made, this was the MOST POSITIVE medical experience I, or my Father-in-Law have ever experience. From the care, compassion, dignity and over positive environment, it was a true pleasure and actually didn't even feel like a hospital visit. The CT scan went with out a hitch and we left the hospital feeling more positive and uplifted than when we went in. Ken was the supervisor and also put in my Father-in-laws IV without a hitch. We can't say this very often either. But, I do have to commend Gordon, who welcomed us into the Diagnostic Imaging Clinic and was just an amazing, positive influence on our visit. It is such a please to see someone with such a gift for patient care and who is working in a job that truly takes advantage of his special gift. We cannot thank everyone and especially Gordon, for making our visit a little less stressful, and in fact, a very positive experience. I would certainly HIGHLY recommend the Strathcona Community Hospital for any of your Diagnostic imaging needs. THANK YOU!

Vicki Boal

I've been there a couple times. It's clean, they're friendly and care gets provided each and every time. Thanks

Julliett Barrett

In and out in just over an hour. Doctor was friendly but straight to the point. Asked me what he could do and then did it. Simple.

Abi Rose

Unfortunately had to make 2 trips to this hospital in the last year but I am so fortunate that it is my closest one. Such kind and compassionate staff. So helpful and there with a kind word and reassurance. Great at their jobs from bedside manner to treatment. I will not go to another emergency room in the city if I can help it.

snakeoids1

Brought my daughter here with acute breathing problem. Buddy told me on the way in that he’s been waiting for four hours and no movement in the waiting room. I talked to triage nurse about this and she said no problem. We would be admitted right away, which we were. After an hour and a half of nobody seeing us, I asked the doctor passing by about the delay. He seemed disinterested and said that the wait would be three to four hours. I went to the general waiting room and found it empty. There was no urgent activity such as ambulances. Our priority was obviously changed to zero. Garbage hospital. Garbage healthcare

Kyle Karen

I enjoyed my visit

Jeroen Cüsters

They were very nice and although the wait times were long. The service was good

Justin Mahoney

My aunt was brought here by ambulance from downtown. Shes a native woman. Normally in Edmonton she gets treated with racism at the other hospitals. They treated her like a queen here. My aunt can usually be hard to deal with also because of the racism she experiences on daily a basis. The staff here was incredible and very patient with her. She told me to write this post and to thank the staff for treating her so well.

Thomas Hartman

Great to have in Sherwood Park! The times I have been here I was seen in a reasonable amount of time and the staff was attentive.

Amninder Brar

Do not come after 12am very poor service

Ross Peters

Extremely happy to have this hospital in the park. Close to home and the two times a have been in emergency I have never had an issue. Staff are amazing. Couldn’t ask for more. Thanks to all staff for always working hard and taking great care of all your patients.

Barret R

garbage healthcare and long wait times. go to a real hospital where they have more then 1 doctor on at night in the ER

Katrina Poon

My triad of registered nurses are very nice. Got me ice cold water when I was thirsty. Checked up on me while I was in there today. 6 to 7 hours in the hospital. The male doctors were also very nice and pleasant, good bed manners. I would definitely go again here should the need arise. But hopefully it won't be too soon. The room was spacious. At least I didn't have to stay for over night observation.

Breyanna Mackenzie

I don’t have much to complain about this hospital other than the wait time is really long. I had injured my finger in a truck door, and it took 3hrs before I saw a doctor. The staff was really nice and it was a clean safe environment. They just have long wait times for an emergency room

Parmjeet Singh

The lady at patient registration was kind of rude. She seems off on me .i don't want to say it really but i felt like victim of racism.just an suggestion patient come to hospital to get there health treatment.these kinds of welcomes make there health worse

Laughing Matters

Was very happy with the professionalism and warm hospitality at the ambulatory care clinic. Thanks for your reassurance and clear communication of what to expect and giving me plenty of opportunity to ask for clarity :)

Ley Dla

I have been here twice in 6 months. Despite the extremely long wait times, I'd have to say that the facility has always been clean and the staff have been friendly. They don't push you in and out - they really take their time to sit with you and talk about your concerns. The doctor I had was also very kind and made sure I felt comfortable during my procedure. It's a hospital, so don't expect raving reviews from others. I personally don't plan (or want) to come back, but I do want to commend the staff here... "Thank you!".

Albert Hancock

Fantastic service and very good Doctor.

K B

A great place and was going there for years. Then, nurse Margaret was very unprofessional. It blew my mind.

Khalid Al-Hussani

I have been to too many hospitals but this one top them all. Very clean, awesome staff ( I took a picture with.....it's too bad I forgot his name ) if you happen to be there you should try his coffee. I HAD A GREAT VISIT.

Frilly “SweetPumpkinRose”

Literally go to any other hospital.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE!! My son broke his wrist three years ago. We waited over 3.5 hours in the waiting room, the nurses decided because he wasn't in a lot of pain, that there was no way it could be broken. They were quite embarrassed when the x-rays came back showing it fractured. Then two days ago, I brought my daughter in after falling at school and developing a very large lump on her collar bone. Brought her in and again, they brushed her off because she didn't have a lot of pain. We waited for an hour and a half for x-rays (not a big deal) and then another half hour for the doctor to look at them (again, not a big deal), we were told it he THOUGHT it was a subluxation (partial dislocation) but he said for certain it was not broken and sent us on our way. No more information on how to treat it, what to expect etc. I followed my gut and took her into the Stollery 2 days later, and the exact words of the Doctor was "I could have told you it was broken before even looking at the x-ray." I even had a chance to look at the x-ray and it's clearly broken. Yes, my daughter was misdiagnosed and brushed off because of her lack of pain. Even the nurses at the Stollery say they don't put a lot on the amount of pain a patient is having, only for pain relief if needed. I will not be using this hospital for me or my family ever again. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Sarah Rosolen

Diagnostic staff were awesome. Fast and friendly.

luis garcia

Well in the USA I was ask what is your insurance so, we waited and then i received my bill it was huge..i had to file for bankruptcy .. ????????????

Gary Cromwell

Were sitting here as my wife is pregnant with my first baby for over three hours in our room. Not a single person (doctor or nurse) has come to our room. I had to go out and ask why we haven't been seen yet. "Its an emergency department" I am told. However the laughing and talking from the nurses station is quite steady. A nurse finally comes in as I am writing this but won't answer even a guess as to the wait. I explain my concerns yet am not helped. I ask who puts the Alberta Health Services wait times on the website as we could have gone anywhere. I worked a 15 hour shift and work again at 6am (just 4 short hours from now at this point). Again not provided any information. My wife is sitting there in pain and I am concerned for her and my baby. I wish I could insert the audio clip of the nurses all laughing and carrying on! "Ooh no whiskey for you!" One of them just went on about. This is not even mentioning the mess the room was in with gloves all over the floor, garbage filled to the top and a cup of urine sitting on the counter! Should someone in authority read this be ashamed. When did you stop thinking of patients as people. When did the human component stop being part of your profession. Addition: Since this post was written we saw the doctor and some now very rude nurses one of which wouldn't even move the old urine as "I'm just helping your nurse" This is just shameful. We are told we have to come back in the morning for an ultrasound yet are required to wait another 45 min (at best) for blood work results which make no sense as we are back here in just a few hours. We are beyond frustrated and upset at the service, the environment and the general lack of care from this facility.

Hope Roasting

Waited 3 hours went home crying...

Kayla

I came into the hospital for a serious injury and was brought into the back after about 2 hours of waiting. That was fine. It was expected, however from there i was brought into a room and then a nurse checked the issue and notified me a doctor would see me soon. Then i was moved to another room with multiple other patients and waited there for 2 hours. During my experience here i saw multiple people leave in frustration and anger. The only thing that was good about my experience was free parking. I was not happy with my experience.

Ghostie

Went the ER because my boyfriend fell and slipped his head. I asked the girl at the patient registration what the average wait time was right now, she said I don't know. You'll have to ask the nurses. Not very polite. So I ask the nurses and they tell me hours. We're busy right now. I get that, but there's no need to be snarky. Thankfully there's free parking.

Karen Billig

Best nursing staff at the IV Therapy Clinic in the Strathcona Community Hospital! Had to go daily for treatments and each time, the nurses (and the nurse practitioners) were fantastic. Very sweet and helpful. Made the experience much more pleasant. Thank you!

Abraham boudi

i just had CT scan here. amazing people in that department . they treat patients like kings . especially the guy that welcomed me and at 11:30 am and took me to the door when i finished and he said " you're a good patient today" i would like to say you are a good Healthcare worker too. sorry i forgot the name

Jacky den Haan

Bad experience here - had a fractured ankle, saw 3 different doctors here, each said different things about the injury. Received no information about how it would heal and treatment plan. The beds, however, are very comfortable if you need a good nap.

Guy Gowanloch

Hospital masks are ineffective personal protection against aerosol virus like covid. I am forced to discard my professional P100 mask and wear "downgraded" hospital mask, or be ejected from the hospital. Ask any health professional, which one they would choose to wear for a full day seated in a tuberculosis ward.

Jerrie D’Entremont

First time there...it was terrible. Took my son in for a possible broken foot Radiologist Fraiser was a complete jack ass. Was mean to my lil boy whom is 5 yrs old. Must of had a bad day or just hated children. He was inpatient and rough. Went the next day to Fort Sask Hospital got xray there with no problems. And was treated kindly.

Kevin Yetman

The nurses are angles. Thanks so much for your help. You are the backbone of this hospital.

Christopher Chambers

Thank you all Great Job you all are doing Keep up the Hard work.

Tyra Castellano

I just got hit by a car I'm in a wheel chair unable to walk and in loads of pain I got ice packs I cant use and 3 tylenol for the pain which they aren't helping and 5 people went in before be all look like they just need a medium center I cant even walk and these people who walk are being seen with no cuts or bruises! It's a place where old people hang out and real problems are shoved to the last

Kelly Bartley

My triage nurse, second nurse, and doctor we just fine. Came in with stomach pain and they couldn’t figure it out so they sent me to the Royal Alex for an ultrasound (they have no ultrasounds or xrays or anything after 3 I guess) The first nurse I got, the one who put in my IV, hit a nerve while inserting it. I asked her to stop because I could feel sporadic pains down my arm while she was digging around in my arm trying to get the vein (I have never had issues with IV’s and needles before, my veins are great) she did not stop when I asked her. She was rude and arrogant and kept blaming it on me and telling me I was moving when I was not. She then said “it can’t even hurt it’s just plastic” Now a week later, my initial illness is gone, my IV bruises are finally starting to go away, but I have increasingly bad nerve pain in my arm from when she did the IV. I can’t extend my arm, grasp anything, or carry anything. This isn’t usually a temporary problem apparently, it can last months to years or forever with physical therapy. From speaking to a physician they told me that if anyone complain about pains down their arms then the nurse is supposed to immediately stop and remove the needle. I’ve contacted the patient relations or whatever it’s called, waiting to hear back if they plan on paying and providing my physical therapy or if I will have to see a medical malpractice lawyer. No one should have to live with pain because of a medical “professional”s mistake.

Larry Lynn

Worst place ever Blew up a vein trying to do an I.V as the nurse just decided to dig for one and i had specifically asked her not to put it in my hand as i was concerned about that very issue and she said right before.i cant see it but i can feel it and then blew it up. I said she was done and imstead of askin if i was ok the supervisor said are you canceling then? Not are you ok? Or would you like someone else to do it? No just a rude are you canceling? I asked to speak to a supervisor and wanted to place a complaint and was handed a pamplet and asked to leave. What kind of hospital does that?

K Ma

DO NOT GO HERE. I just walked out without seeing a doctor because of the terrible treatment I got. I got there at 12:30 to see a doctor for a packing/dressing change on an incision from Tuesday. The front end staff were great, very friendly and quick to get me registered. I only had to wait maybe 15 minutes to get into a room but that's when everything went downhill. They put me in the room and no one came to check on me or anything after. After about an hour and a half, I went and found someone to see if I had a few minutes before the doctor came so I could go outside, they didn't ask for my name or check to see how many people were ahead of me. Just said "I don't know how long it will be, you can risk it if you want but you'll probably be here longer." Then about half an hour later, they brought a new patient in to the room across from mine. He waited for about 10 minutes before the doctor came to see him. He was there because he had a cold for a week and was still sick. Hospitals are supposed to see more urgent patients first, I don't see how a cough is more urgent than a packing change from a surgery. I went to leave and the nurse asked me why so I explained that I had been waiting almost three hours and that the doctor went and saw a patient who got there two and a half hours after me who just had a cold before coming to see me, and that if the doctor wasn't coming to see me right now that I was leaving. Again she didn't ask for my name or check to see how many people were ahead of me, just simply responded with " ok have a nice day " I just had surgery, I should be at home resting. Not waiting three hours for the doctor to deal with a cough before my dressing change. I'm never going back there and I strongly recommend that no one else does. I'm placing a complaint and I'm going to make sure that everyone knows about the terrible care and attitude from them.

Dana Peters

Went to the emergency room with my mom and received THE best care. Both the nursing staff and the Doctor on staff were amazing! They got stuff done for my mom quickly and efficiently AND Dr. Igor had a wonderful bedside manor. I’m so thankful that this is the closest hospital to my mom because I know she is getting the best care possible. Thank you again everyone on staff tonight :)

Lori Meek

I went to the emergency room with my daughter after she hit her head. The staff were amazing. They were friendly and offered us fresh ice when ours melted. After we were put in a treatment room the nurse there brought my daughter a warm blanket which was really appreciated. Then when the doc came in he was really great as well. He had a terrific bedside manner and even had my daughter giggling for a few moments despite everything. Yes we were there for a total of 2.5 hours but that is what I expected. Thanks to everyone here! You really went above and beyond my expectations! And thanks for helping us make a scary situation tolerable.

Natasha Romanchuk

Extremely disappointed. First time I went It said 30 min wait. However, I waited about 3 hours in the waiting room then finally got to a room. In the room I waited another 3 hours. The dr came in and said "sorry for the wait they lost you in the system". Not happy... So He left and I waiting another 2 hours for him to come back with inconclusive results and I left. 8 long hours.... Tonight I took my boyfriend at 11 pm who had severe abdominal pain. The online wait time was 33 min. When we got there , there was one person waiting .. Seemed like a short wait time, however we waiting for 2.5 hours and then left because we were fed up. They were extremely disorganized and I will never go here again.

Ocean Ebinger

Came into emergency last night after being pushed to the side for 3 hours (with an expected wait time of another 3 hours) at North East Emerg in Edmonton. Wait times were short and every single staff member I interacted with was absolutely PHENOMENAL. They went a thousand times above and beyond what I'm used to. All in all probably the best experience I've ever had at a hospital while struggling to breath.

Francesca K

The care here is amazing. The staff went out of their way to make our baby comfortable and us as well. The EMS guys even gave our little guy a teddy bear to cheer him up They triaged us and had us in within 10minutes. Dr was in within 20. Over all great care and caring staff for a very sick little baby. Thank you

Dan Ashton

Expect to wait for hours, nurses seem friendly, doctors are good........just very slow and not organized at all.

Christine Beland

I’ve been to this Emergency Room twice in the past two years and both times I got exceptional care from the EMTs, nurses, doctors, and specialists involved in my care. From quick service to politeness, I received it all. It wasn’t an in and out situation but I wasn’t waiting hours on end for every department I needed to be seen by. The facility was quiet, calm, and clean. A very good hospital for me. If I ever need to go back to hospital, I would want to be taken here again. Thank you to everyone that took such good care of me.

John Lemko

6 hours waiting and I saw the doctor for 5 minutes. I was about to leave after 3 hours in the first waiting room... But to leave you have to see the triage nurse. Which was a half hour wait. During the time waiting to leave I finally got called back to the second waiting room. Doctor saw me for 5 minutes after 1 hour wait. Said I need an x-ray now waiting another hour. Well at least i have time to write this review for them. Pack a lunch if you go here. Your going to be a while

Maddi Rose

It's very clean and staff can be friendly.. when they're not joking around and socializing at their desks.. very unprofessional. I've been waiting I my room for almost an hour and no one has come to check up on my. Pretty sure if I stopped breathing no one would notice until it would be too lait.. I wouldn't recommend this hospital

K M Boyd

Well organized and very busy.

JP Ren

I had open heart surgery in Nov. I was having some problems breathing and they took very good care of me. Transferred me to the Mazankowski by ambulance within a few hours.

angie lis

I have been in this hospital twice. What I love and like about it it’s the care of the inside stuff! Once you go beyond the barrier! You will experience the essence of professionalism! The thoughts part is to go in! No matter what you go for, and no matter the colour of your skin or gender; the front stuff will always have unfavourable comment! They will also make sure that you heard that! I guess it’s the part of the game! Peoples lives and well being it’s not a game! I do understand that you are bored, maybe you should work shorter hours or attend other venues! I don’t know? But making fun of people should not be your daily entertainment, especially when you are making sure they can hear you! Are you making bets how many will report you? Not funny!

Heather Humeniuk

Spent all day there, they completed ultra sounds and CT scans in house instead of making us wait to book elsewhere. Doctor Tubbs was so kind and really helped get things going for a long road after a really hard diagnosis.

Lainy Gavigan

Hands down the best hospital I have ever been to the staff was very attentive had excellent communication and care. All doctors and nurses were also very friendly. I was able to get right in and feel more than comfortable in my room then got a full explanation of everything that was done and what to do next. Thank you all nursed and doctors.

Aiden Tomiuk

been bleeding badly out my nose for 5 hours show up to the hospital 5 mins before they close at 5 but they closed early so the horrible staff can start there weekend early! absolutely appalled at this! Why even have a hospital in sherwood if they close at 5 and even close earlier so people who need medical attention can’t even get in just before.

Shishir Dhungel

So many happy faces in this hospital! usually you never see people smiling in the hospitals. But this one was different. I was there for the first time to do my CT Scan. I was warmly welcomed by Gordon who is a friendly guy. Then he introduced me with other staffs. I was treated so well by everyone that I felt like I was somewhere in a vacation. If people are treated like this in a hospital, half of their illness will be automatically disappeard. I am so much impressed! Keep up the good work fellas!

Kathy Zoutsos

We brought a friend into emerg. The triage nurse was very kind and helpful. She even brought a bag of ice out to someone with a bad hip/back. Our friend came out after an xray and a prescription. Total time 3 hours. That wouldn't happen at any of the hospitals in Edmonton...very clean AND free parking! It was a very positive experience.

Mona Martin

I will never come back here! Triage nurse was snarky and gruff and treated me like I was a nuissance. Only one other person in the waiting room. I was in the most pain in my life and didn't get any pain medication for 7 hours! I was close to the nurses station and they had to have heard me writhing in pain! I begged for pain relief and got a warm blanket for my stomach. They barely checked in on me. After 7 hours the pain was taken care of and the plan was for me to have an ultrasound. It was 8 in the morning at this point and the Dr. sent me home to make an appointment elsewhere (?). It would have been 4 days before having one. He suspected gallstones and didn't rule out heartburn. He also sent me with a Rx that couldn't be filled because pharmacies haven't been able to have it in 6 months! By noon my pain medication wore off and it all came back. I drove to the Grey nuns where I asked for the ultrasound. They found a 2 cm stone lodged in my gallbladder! Had my gallbladder removed and I am home now recovering. Great, compassionate people at the Grey Nuns! Thank you especially to the nurses! They're everything!

William Clarke

I showed up 1 hour early because I did not know Sherwood Park. Upon arrival I was greeted by and immendely large and friendly security guard that correctly directed me to Diagnostic imaging. I was then greeted by an older lady that laughed genuinely about my wisecrack for needing more coffee at 7 AM. I was registed in ten minutes or less. I was greeted by an exuberant and chatty male nurse named Gordon and taken in early for my appointment. I was given an Xray in less than 10 minutes. I was then greeted a stern but remarkably cautious and meticulous male nurse and given my iodine solution IV for my CT scans. Lets be honest I showed up early and was not told to wait very long. The place is palatial for a community hospital, very clean and well lit. The staff was pleasant. I was out on the Highway at 8:22 AM for an 8:00 AM appointment. I consider that "efficient". The closest thing to a negative interation was the Phillipina intake nurse brow beating me for not having an alberta health care card on me,and did not like my eplanation that it was in my wallet when I put it in the washing machine. She gave me a contact number to get a new one and suggested I should laminate it. Considering all I was let off the hook . If i have ever have an incident again that is not immediately life threatening I will take the time to go back there again.

Nic Ross

Went this evening as I have been experiencing unbearable, sporadic pain in upper back, chest and abdomen . It's a solid 9/10 on their little pain scale when it flares up. Excruciating. I had a flareup while in the waiting room and felt like I would pass out . The nurse got me a bed and had me wait . 1 hour later another nurse comes in to flip up the side arm on the bed and informs me she'll be looking after me. Then proceeded to leave the room..no asking how my pain was, didn't check vitals, and didn't provide any info on what they were going to do with me. I understand and appreciate these nurses and doctors are very busy. However, after a 3 and a half hour wait, I can be forgiven for having expected better treatment. Being treated with a little human decency goes a long way . I went in crying because of my pain and the nurses would rather sit at their station half the time talking about their weekend plans (yes, this happened as well). I'm disheartened and have lost faith in my home here in Sherwood Park because the people I should be able to trust the most let me down in a huge way. And next time I have a flareup, I won't be so motivated to go back to this awful hospital. Straighten up your act.

Nick Cappella

Service is so slow. We have been here a bunch of times and everytime everything takes forever. Nurses all seem to sit around chatting while everyone is waiting and getting frustrated. Go to a different hospital even if the wait times online show a longer wait it will be faster than this place.

Shyanne Rae

Sat in the waiting room for 3 hours when the wait time said an hour online. Then got taken into a room and have been in here for another hour still with no dr. With agonizing pain not impressed ready to cry

Rheanne Nicole

Saturday afternoon I took my husband in to get stitches on his chin - everyone was super accommodating. Staff kept apologizing for the wait (2.5 hours) which we thought was totally reasonable. The staff took the time to chat, put up with my husbands joking around, the doctor was super friendly as well. 10/10 would come here again ;)

Brian R

We've always had really great doctors for our little guy. He's been helped multiple times. Staff also have helped us with extremely bad flu.

Ron Perry

THE MEDICAL STAFF ARE RUDE AND VERY ARROGANT...THEY HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO PEOPLE SKILLS AT ALL......AVOID GOING TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT AT ALL COSTS....THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE PATIENTS AT ALL....THE STAFF I ENCOUNTERED SHOULD BE FIRED......THEY SOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES......

Mary Ann Albers

The staff there was very efficient and had me assessed and treatment started with in 5 hours. That seems like a long time, but tests need to get results before the staff can treat what is wrong and quoting Dr. Google does not speed things up.

Sherri C

My last CT scan at a different hospital last year was not the greatest. Staff were not very friendly, just cordial but I guess in an ER you get a lot of unhappy people coming in so I gave them a pass. After the CT however, I needed help to sit up as I have a hernia and didn't want it to pop out. They made a big deal out of it which made me feel awful and didn't help my anxiety. Now almost a year later and booked for another CT scan, this time in Sherwood Park, what a difference a hospital makes! I was super anxious it was going to be a similar experience but I need not have worried. STRATHCONA COMMUNITY HOSPITAL TOTALLY ROCKS!! The hospital is very clean and right from admissions, to the lab and then to diagnostic imaging, it was an awesome experience. ALL the staff are super friendly so it made me less anxious and it felt like my care was of the utmost importance to them. I was treated extremely well. The individual who did my IV definitely knows how to do his job. He was the BEST EVER! I have deep veins so I know how hard it is to do the IV's but he managed to get it on the first try. Then after my scan, this same individual asked me,before I could even say anything, if I needed help sitting up and actually waited after to make sure I could stand up okay. If I ever have any kind of tests, etc. that can be done at this hospital, I will definitely be requesting it - hands down. WELL DONE STRATHCONA COMMUNITY HOSPITAL :)

Peter Fairhead

Have had 2 experiences and both were excellent. Small ER but service was great!!

Vadim Kutuzov

Every time I come here myself or with my kids we get great care! I am really glad to have this hospital close to my home. Did I mention free parking and free wifi?

Hovant

Leagues ahead of the Royal Alex, which I was sent to for the ultrasound. I should have just asked to be transfered back here afterwards, as the doctors actually listened to you here.

Marcel Mykiwka

Fraser, Gordon, and Nicole in diagnostic imaging were all extremely courteous and the patient care was exceptional! If I need more tests/scans done in the future I hope to come back to this facility.

Inna

Horrible stuff and horrible treatment of patients. Nurses are rude and very inexperienced in what they do. IV was extremely painful. One RN told me that they have sick people here and they cant do anything. Well i wouldn't have come to ER if i was ok. Worst ER experience ever. Avoid this one.

Lowell Steinhauer

St.paul told me i was fine after a rollover.. i came here and sure enough fractured c1 c2 was in a brace for 2 months and still feel it till this day..

sungwon kim

I visited yesterday then I totally disappointed here I told I have stomachache, diarrhea, fever and had throw out couple of time last 3 day. Then Doctor Said its all flu related pain. They took chest x Ray then they let me go. I'm still suffering from stomachache. I got only 1 tablet there. What's the problem here then and waiting time is 4 and half.

Adele Delplanque

The doctors and nurses are very good at handling people with high levels of anxiety.

Rick B.

I have been reluctant to post a neg. review since I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Since the facility opened my family has had occasion to use their Emerg. Dept. a total of 4 times. I can say without reservation that despite the "estimated wait time" posted on the AHS website the actual time was many multiples of that. In addition the end result was always unsatisfactory - either by not being thorough enough or missing the issue entirely. Each visit was then followed by another visit to a different Emerg Dept of a different hospital. Even one nurse who work here commented that we were better off going to a "real hospital" in the city. Save yourself the aggravation and time and just go to one of the other hospitals instead.

Steve Cali

Went for a scan with my wife. Was veey organized and fast. Everyone helpful and friendly. Gordon was the main contact and was great! Made the procedure tolerable. Thanks again Gordon

Shantyl segin

My daughter who is 3 split her head open. 4 plus hrs sitting there trying to keep her calm and relaxed. Absolutely unacceptable. Cant say i will bring any of my kids here anymore. Shes freaked out enough the fact she has blood all over her and a hole in her head never mind being trapped in a room full of objects that are intimidating to a young kid for hours.

lynn jones

I had a rough time. I went into surgery at the royal Alexander on Sept. 13. I was having complications and went to the Sherwood park hospital on Sept.19th at around 9 am. I was scared worried tired and ervpus about what may happen The dr. Arranged a transfer to the royal alex. In the meantime I was at sherwood park from 9am till around 8 PM. I would not have been able to keep my spirits up if it was not for my nurse Karin. She was amazing caring and funny and actually concerned for me. She joked and laughed with my family she made sure I was clean and comfortable. Without her I would have lost it. Without any of the nurses I was with throughout the week this would have been horrible. Than you to all the nurses but s special thank you to you Karin. You will always be remembered by my family as a sweet caring person your family must be do proud. Good on you for sticking up for your patients being strong for them and most of all truly caring for them. Nurses are the back bone to our health care without them the rest would be lost. Thank you

Petra Aberdeen

The staff was amazing today my husband hasn't seen a doctor in about 25 years and he got an infection in his face we went to the emergency and he had such amazing experience they made him feel comfortable gave him antibiotics in iv and also a great thank you to Gordon from diagnostic imaging he came To the emergency side and came and visited us and also gave me coffee at like 7 in the morning thanks again to the staff for the wonderful service every time I come there even if it's for me or my kids I've always been treated great

Sredni Vashtar

Nurses too busy chatting with each other to give pain meds to a 70 year old lady with a broken arm. Our health care system is a joke.

Bradley Howdle

Horrible wait times with doctors and nurses that don't care, you could literally be dying or ready to pass out from the pain without a single care or thought given

Sandra Bitz

The front staff and nurse was very nice . But the Doctors were no help and took 4 hours .Left there went to Fort Saskatchewan where they treated you like a person.

Dave Jones

Luckily I've only had to come here once and I was treated very well. Short wait and the staff were very nice.

Saleem Mustafa

So alberta health service website says 32mins wait time, you get here and the emerge nurse is writing down patient names on a clip board; we are #9 on the list to be checked in! Not at all accurate time compared to what actually is. So we waited 1hr 35 mins to check in and 3hr 55 mins in total. Not sure if this is how it suppose to work. The system only updates when you check in the patient.

Pamela A

The hospital was new, very clean, clear directions and free parking. The staff were very personable and skilled. I felt comfortable and respected by everyone. There was not a wait time and my needs were attended to in a professional manner. Overall, the most positive hospital experience I have ever had.

salvador granadeno

My brother and law Jose platero went for a CT scan.staff was excellent they made us feel at home,I highly recommend .Gordon and his colleagues , were friendly and professional. Excellent service. Thank you so much.

Lothar Schwabe

Very good care. They look after the severe case first. I do not mind waiting. You get the care you need. Very professional and caring.

K H

Sitting here with my child who is covered head to toe in a rash that has intensified since Wednesday morning - no I am not one of those parents that drags their child to emerg for anything and everything. Antihistamines (oral and topical) aren't working and it's getting worse as the hours pass. This isn't an allergic reaction but would put money on it that it's viral. Triage saw a small portion on his hand and arm when taking his BP. He wasn't asked to wear a mask, the equipment they used wasn't wiped down! Seriously!! If this is contagious there is going to be a lot of pissed off ppl! Just saying. If I thought he could wait to see the family doctor I would.

Katarina Vieira

Worst possible expietence I've ever had.

Bob Boutin

The doctors and staff are Not Knowledgeable and Unhelpful and Very poor service. We went in there with a breathing issue and got told to wait. We waited for over an hour and a half just to be told to leave. We went to a real hospital in Edmonton and got the help we needed.

Margaret Burns

Very efficient and clean. We are very luck to have this facility here in Sherwood Park

rebekah wilkie

Uhm, what a joke. I came here at about 10:30am due to bleeding and being 10 weeks pregnant. I wasn't called back to a room until 11:30, no one came in to see me until 12:45 - a nurse to take blood work. 12:50 doctor came in said he was going to do a pap on me. 1:20 nurse comes in to set up pap items needed 1:25 nurse comes back to set the bed up, 1:35 no one has come back to check on me. I honestly feel like I'm not worthy of seeing a doctor. Yes, don't get me wrong, I understand triage and how it works, but to leave me alone for 1.25 hours bleeding at 10 weeks, with no call for help string - disgusting. We came to this hospital thinking that it would be in an out within a few hours(wait time being 35 minutes) nope, 3.5 hours to be told that I am okay, given an ultrasound referral and told to come back if I bleed more.

dallas sutton

Absolute worst hospital I have even been in. It is completely dead here, haven't seen anyone at all in over an hour. The only doctor here has not been on the floor for at least 2.5hrs, leaving me and from what I can hear 3 other patients completely in the dark. Do Not Come Here, Go to U of A Or Grey Nuns, or even a back ally doctor and you will be treated better.

cate499

They saved my life! Grateful that they are there.

André Mendes Chaves

Horrible service. Long waiting times.

Sassy Dink

This hospital has been very good and id still recommend it but just today had a pretty poor experience. Was in 1.5 weeks ago when i broke my hand and everything went well. Fast forward to today and i go back to get it re-checked. Apparently i was suppose to see a specialist for my hand days after going to the hospital but no one called and my hand is now in worse condition due to that (can't say if its hospitals fault or the specialist), then when getting a new splint the nurse had it soaking wet dripping down all over me, the floor and my clothes. The nurse must of been impatient cause she smack my FRACTURED hand when i couldn't bend it the way she wanted. can't remember the name of this nurse but id highly recommend asking a doctor or male nurse to set your splint to avoid her.

Donna Pope

I had to wait but was very satisfied with the service. I wish there was a drink of water available.

Laurie Moody

Went in with what I thought was a urinary track infection. They sent me for a pee test. Then the Dr came and said I am giving you a prescription for six pills. We will call you if you need anything else. I went to Mexico. I was still sick so saw a dr. Had an immediate ultrasound which showed multiple kidneystones. No meds yet. Was sent for blood and urinalysis. I had a resistant bacterial infection. Very very serious. Was given the wrong antibiotic in sherwood park. When I came back I asked my dr to check net care. She said the urinalysis was contaminated so inconclusive. Why no call? Bad bad bad

Barry Morgan

Updated 01/23/2018. This is not a full service Hospital. It is basically an emergency Hospital only getting you in and out as quickly as possible. That said when its busy there will be a line up of unhappy people but this is no different than the bigger Edmonton Hospitals. They will pump the medication in you to keep you comfortable but it could take a while for a diagnosis especially in early morning hours, expect to wait due to tests required and no personnel available. Do not expect a meal if you are in for extended period of time. I have been here once and my spouse a couple of times. I got in promptly and treatment that was received for me was fair. My wife got in fairly quickly and eventually diagnosed with cancer. She has was pumped full of meds with no immediate diagnosis which in her case was understandible for her. Bringing food in is a must if extended stay on emerg happens. I expected a call from them when she was transferred at 2am but did not get one. Found out she was gone when i went to see her at 7am.

Jaykay

Excellent, knowledgeable staff. Was triaged immediately upon arrival! Nurses are very professional, consulting one another out of earshot of other patients. Very professional, straightforward doctor – excellent bedside manner and skills. Thank you, Strathcona County Hospital Staff!

keegan neil

Good stuff.

L Fontana

Waited 5 hours to get stitches! Poor coordination.

Lisa Marrazzo

The service and kindness that I have received from this hospital is by far the best !

C. S

I've had to use their services a few times. Once for myself (kidney stones) and this morning at 4am as my son was having a very difficult time breathing and his inhalers were not working well enough. Took him in, instantly greeted by a nurse that was so compassionate and promt. She immediately took his vitals and asked us to register while she would get the respiratory therapist (also fantastic...my son thanked him "thank you for helping me breathe") but we had just gotten his bracelet on and they were already taking him to a room to recheck vitals and be checked out by the rt and using necessary interventions. Short time later the doctor came in and very good with him as well. We're lucky to have a good facility and compassionate workers.

Joe Rushton

If I could give zero stars, I would. What a joke of a hospital! I went in with a decent cut on my face from ice hockey, went through triage and registration quickly, and got into a room fast....then it went downhill. I waited for 1 hour, nobody stopped by to check in or anything. In that time, I enjoyed listening to the gaggle of nurses talk about their bar-star fun-filled weekend. Very unprofessional to say the least. Oh, also overhead a nurse accidentally walk into a room they thought was empty, and the guy just muttered "nope, still here waiting....". They are very unorganized and need more doctors. I approached a nurse and she said I'd have to wait another 1-1.5 hours...after already waiting 1 hour! I checked the wait time twice before I showed up, and it said 30mins. Not sure how 30mins equates to 2-2.5+ hours total. There is no coincidence that my comments echo others here. I sincerely hope that someone of some importance reads this and takes this to heart. It's a wonderful new hospital in a great community....unfortunately it's run by a bunch of complete morons. I've taken my kids here twice, both were bad experiences and I thought I'd chalk it up to it being new and give them the benefit of the doubt. Apparently it's still terrible. I'll go to Grey Nuns or UofA moving forward, and only trust the Stollery with my kids. Icing on the cake; I was asked to sign a waiver to leave on my own accord. Nice touch. "Sorry we're incompetent, unorganized, unprofessional, and understaffed....but can you please sign here and absolve us of any wrong doing??". These guys are an embarrassment to the health care profession!

Catherine Swiderski

Sat for 3 hours on a 55 minute wait with my son. People who showed up an hour after us who "weren't feeling well" were seen and discharged before a doctor even saw us. Absolutely horrific patient care.

James Hunt

I’ve luckily only had to come here once but I had excellent care and the staff were superb!!

Meghan Zanoni

Horrible service waited over 2 hours with chest pain numbness in arm and was dismissed very easily. I wouldn't waste your time and would drive the extra distance to go to the ft. Sask hospital.

john turcott

Today may 1,2018 I had appt for ct scan at sherwood park hospital, and i must say this is a model hospital of the future, the best medical team i have ever experienced ,from the front desk reception to the medical lab team they are the best of the best.they explain every detail of the procedure from top to bottom .the best medical team from the time i walked in until the time i left. The hospital is spotless and state of the art equipment.,state of the art hospital and state of the art staff, thank you so much to all the staff at Sherwood Park hospital....

Cheryl Moffat

Just wanted a big shout out of appreciation for Dr. Sarah Roshko, the nurses and admittance clerks all at the Strathcona Community Hospital! Your compassion, kindness and concern for my son today was beyond appreciated. As a mom you warmed my heart and put us all at ease. Your thorough testing, follow through and quick test responses were soooo what we needed after the last few days that we had. It will be a bit of a journey but now we know for sure what we are dealing with! Thank you, thank you, thank you! (Nick's mom)

Melissa Warner

I was not totally happy with this place, I was diagnosed Friday night with appendicitis that needed to be removed ASAP. This hospital was really good with pain control, that was great but asides from that there was no urgency in getting me out the door to a hospital that could operate. My nurse for the evening was terrible and made me feel as if I was a bother the entire time. After hours upon hours later and me crying and begging to have an ambulance come NOW as I was striking a fever and things were getting worse someone had finally arrived hours later. I was taken to the mis, where the surgeon had me in the surgery room within 30 minutes of me getting there. There were many questions why I was even kept over night at STCH when it was a real emergency.

Trevor Quinton

Their Rheumatologist Dr. J. Soo is amazing. He listens to everything you have to say which is such a welcome change. All of the admin staff are also super welcoming and easy to talk to.

Douglas Anderson

A great experience from the convenient, free parking to the friendly informative staff, professional yet interactive. All this making the primary reason for the visit, my Wife getting a C.T. scan, as stress free as could be. Thanks again.

Steph M

I recently went to the Strathcona Hospital ER when I was in the early stages of a miscarriage. Even though we were the only ones in the waiting room at 3 in the morning, we still waited about an hour and a half to be seen after triage (which, I understand as you have no idea who has come in before you). I'm sure the wait would have still been longer at a larger, busier hospital. Once we were in, we were set up in a room and the care I received from the nurses, doctors, ultrasound techs and radiologist was amazing. Everyone was really kind and informative with the exception of the doctor at the very end. The doctor who came in to review my results with me was very cold and rude. He even told me incorrect information before he had read all the notes on the chart (I was correcting him as the radiologist had already explained everything to me). He also just had very little sympathy. We had a previous miscarriage a few months earlier and he told me 2 miscarriages in a row was common and we just have to keep trying. I know some doctors don't have very good bedside manner however this was by far the rudest doctor I had ever encountered in my life. However, I won't let that one doctor sour the whole experience as I truly am grateful for every other person I dealt with at the hospital who treated me so kindly throughout a very awful situation.

Jim Nourry

Like everyone else I hate going to the hospital, and will avoid going at all cost. Upon my arrival the staff was friendly and informative about what they were doing while maintaining a professional attitude. I felt it had calm the situation and fully trusted I was in good hands. Thank you to the night shift emergency staff of Nov.06.

Tim K

Terrible!! Go anywhere else. They left me and my little daughter waiting almost 6 hours. They don't care how long you wait! It wasn't even busy and it wasn't a weekend. Any other business and they would all be fired!!! I would be embarrassed to even work there. Another lady said that her husband tried calling to ask about how long the wait times were and the nurse told him that they don't discuss wait times over the phone and then hung up on him! How dumb is that? I kept checking the on line posted wait times and it only said 59 mins. Guess there another waste of our tax dollars. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE, They don't seem to care at all even if your with little children!!!

Heather Miller

My hubby and I got into an accident when we had very bad snow and the roads were cloudy we were brought into the ambulance for a check but they said to go to hospital for a check. The nurse Rebecca or becky blonde told me to wait even though we came by ambulance. The doctor took 2 hours on a Tuesday morning to see us. Waited another 1 hr for a scan why couldn't we go home and have them get the doctor to read the X-ray. I ended up with a herniated disc but now recovering fine wish there was more efficient ness in the health care in Sherwood park.

Evelyn Mohr

I was at the hospital in Sherwood Park on Sunday, June 3, 2018. I was in and out in 1-1/2 hours. The service was great

Jeff A

Met some AWESOME PEOPLE at the Diagnostic department (Lynn, Gordon, Andrea & Bailey). What I thought would be uncomfortable actually turned out to be a pleasant experience. They explained everything that was going to happen during the procedure and made me laugh & smile. Thumbs up to these Healthcare Workers!

Jane Mein

I arrived at 12:30 at night in agony from sciatica pain. They got me in fairly quickly, but I never saw the doctor or got any pain meds for 4 hours. I even had to ask twice when I would see the doctor. Not a good experience!

Gideon Bellens

The worst emergency room ever. I took my wife to see a doctor around 12am. The wait time on the website was 30 minutes so I was hoping we'll be in and out in about 2 hours. The nurse at the triage was very rude and unprofessional. First of all, we had to wait for 30 minutes just to get her registered. There were TWO people ahead of us at triage. After the registration, we waited for almost 2 hours and decided to leave. The total number of people at the waiting area was 5...FIVE! I don't know how these nurses keep getting away with such incompetency but someone needs to do something about it. It's very ridiculous. If I could give negative stars I would. It's not surprising majority of the reviews here are all bad. Says a lot about them!

Laura Perez

My Dad went in for a CT Scan. Very pleasant experience. Even though he was very nervous the staff made him feel comfortable and was very friendly. Great environment and great people

Mia Maraia

Absolutely the worst hospital we have ever been to. Suggested wait times were 2 hours, waited 3 before even going into a room, sat in the room waiting for a doctor for 3 more hours to do be told to take T3 for pain nothing they can do. What a joke! stay away!

1stshelly

I think they forgot about me in the room. The nurse was rude and yanked the IV needle out of my arm. It turns out I did not need the IV in my arm as they never used it for anything. It was in for 3 hours. I finally demanded they discharge me and take the needle out, after realizing that they forgot about me in the room. Totally disappointed. The doctor seemed nice enough though, just a bit unorganized.

This is the slowest hospital I have ever been too. 5 people ahead of me and I spent 4 hours waiting. Still didn't get to see a Dr and had to leave without any medical assistance. I asked how much longer and was given zero information. Won't ever return to this hospital and would not recommend anyone to come here. Would give zero stars if I could

NABILA KHELFA

I had a CT scan today and all the team was professional and nice. Gordon was amazing.

Alex Bosker

Completely misdiagnosed my wife. Went for a second opinion elsewhere and they told us the exact opposite that the doctor at this hospital did. Good thing we didn’t listen or my wife would’ve been in trouble. Do not trust these doctors.

Nader Nsier

Gord is one of the nicest people I've met.

Edgar Macza-shelstad

Wait time is long. Don't be afraid to pop out of your triage room to "use the bathroom" and conveniently ask how long it usually takes for wait times, if you need urgent care or are in severe pain. Doctors seem to know their stuff. Got me the right medication and indirectly suggested I find a better family doctor, confirming my suspicions about negligence. Doctor was very efficient and seemed to have compassion. Something we desperately need more of in our healthcare system.

Went to the hospital with a lor of pain Dr Luc Kazimirski, he was caring, compassionate and took the time to explain everything. I left there assure dand went to get my prescription and sure enough 20 minutes after taking the steroids I started feeling better as a mechanic I need my hands (I was in so much pain I could barely move) ... If I could give 100 stars I would! Thanks Dr Luc! Regards Richard

Very poor service, we came here for emergency service because it had lowest waiting time. We have two children and it is really hard to handle them, especially at 5 Am. They gave us the room withing 30 min, but we are waiting for the doctor more than 2 hrs. While we try to remind them, the nurse (Annemery) gets mad and says go and complain about us! It is ridicolous! It shows they had that experience before and nothing happened! So do not trust their low waiting time! It is not true at all!

Mary Banda - Best hospital experience I had in a long time! Exceptional caring service - I had CT Scan - I was nervous & anxious the staff made me feel very calm - One actually came to the room and held my hand!

Chantele P

everyone was friendly!

Chris O

I was disappointed by the lack of compassion and professionalism I experienced. Hopefully I will not need ER services again soon but if I do I will go somewhere else (despite this facility being so close to home).

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible - Stay away! The posted wait time is not accurate. Went in with excrutiating lower back pain and was unable to walk without assistance. Only T3 could numb the pain. Waited almost 5 hours and never saw a doctor. I suspected a urinary tract infection / kidney infection. At the 3 hour mark I asked the Triage nurse if my lab results were ready. Her response: The last nurse on shift was too busy to send your sample to the lab. I sent in about an hour after you got here and I don't have the results yet. Posted wait time: 30min Actual wait time: 5 hours Result: No doctor

Mindy MacSween

Wonderful calming experience at the CT scan department, Gordon and Jolene are the staff there and they made everything so much easier! Fast and friendly services.

J

The staff was very friendly. I was in a room within 45 mins of getting there. The doctor and student were excellent and thorough. All of the nursing staff was fantastic. If I have the option this will definitely be my choice hospital for visits to an E.R.

Tracy Unser

If I could rate this hospital a zero I would. If you can go anywhere else I would avoid this place at all costs.

Bren Grise

Have to be seizing on the floor to get any service in this hole...had a friend who couldn’t hold down food for 5 days and had to wait 5+ hours with a 111 fever. Worst hospital experience I’ve ever had waited till she was almost completely blacked out to see her.

Merle

On a recent visit I was fortunate to get a nurse (Roy), very skilled with IV's. I am a female, senior, with thin skin, on blood thinners and bruise easily. I have never had an IV that didn't bruise badly. This time, next day, I had a tiny red mark where the needle went in, that's it. I am super impressed! This guy should be giving workshops on IV's! Thanks Roy!

Exceptional staff and care

Denise Hunter

Very poor service sat in room for 4 hours with daughter in law with breathing problem and my grandson was very sick coughing fever no doctor came to check on them security would not let me go buy a bottle of water for my grandson which he wanted something to drink I don't call this hospital it's not fit for a dead dog this hospital should be shut down

Kayla Durec

Went there with my boyfriend who had just been discharged from the military and moved here from Ontario. He had yet to get his alberta health care but was in excruciating pain from kidney stones. As soon as we were admitted into the emergency room, the doctor on call came in and told him that he would only treat him after his fee of $200.00 per hour was paid by credit card. He refused to assess him whatsoever. When I told him I would pay, he took out his phone and attached the "square" where you could run a credit card through. Took my Visa and charged us the $200.00 fee. On the receipt that was automatically emailed to me, the money was deposited right into his account...not the hospitals. Pretty sure as canadian citizens, and a veteran no less, we were treated incredibly poorly..and possibly stolen from.

Kristen S

The experience I had getting my CT Scan was fanatastic. From the very first minute I arrived Gordon helped me to feel much more relaxed especially after my week full of anticipation and anxiety. He made me laugh the entire time I was there, Stand up guy, and great team there overall! Thank you.

Dustin Donais

Horrible service here. I understand waiting in the hospital takes time And that people come in via ambulance or other URGENT circumstances come in . I know how it works it’s not a first come first serve basis. The night my mother came in with a possible blood clot or phenumia we waited close to 7 hours and they were bringing in people with a sprained ankle right In. I understand that there’s different departments in the emergency room that handle certain things like that ex broke ankle, regardless we were still waiting 7 hours???the girls working unit clerk should be re trained on how to prioritize sick patients especially when my mom went to a medicentre and got sent away to come straight to the hospital we got a doctors note stating this. We went to royal Alex and got the proper treatment that was needed.

Jenny Velazco

I have been in the waiting room for 25 mins and they have only seen 3 people in that time, the ladies at the registration are alone while 35 people are waiting to got to triage

Marina Porter

I received exceptional care Tuesday night when I arrived with my injuries. A heartfelt thank you to all the nurses, x-ray technician and doctor who helped me in my time of need.

Shortest wait times

Amy Zhang

I never feel so helpless when we were in this hospital. my daughter had so much pain in her abdomen ( found out it was life threatening disease later). she got no empathy, no kindness, no care.

Kirk Mitchell

The staff in the Emergency and Imaging departments were excellent to deal with during a recent health scare in the family. There were some critical cases causing some wait times for us (totally understandable), but at no time did we feel neglected.

ty izzard

Show up early to get checked it took 10 min to get in after the initial processing because it was so empty say in the room waiting to see the doctor for 2-3 hours brutal wait times especially when the place is empty

Jamieson Allen

I went in six days after I had broken my hand. When the doctor came in he told me I was an idiot. He checked my x rays, said I needed a splint also had said "if anything shifts you'll have to have it rebroken". This sounded a little weird seeing that I couldn't imagine why it would shift in a splint. He told me to get another set of X-rays two weeks later and then a cast. I went into the hospital today and turns out my knuckle was far worse than he had stated and now I have surgery on Thursday for a somewhat healed bone to be rebroken and chunks to be removed from my joint. That doctor was a jokes and should not even be allowed to examine X-rays. Absolutely brutal and not a place to be trusted. I wish I knew his exact name but I guess live and learn.

stew land

What a joke waited for 5 and half hrs for 5 stitches. What a great healthcare system.

Sukhpreet Singh Sandhu

It was very good experience as all the staff were experienced and cheerful! Neat and clean, time management, 10/10 as I felt truly satisfied with my visit at this hospital.????????

Harvey Zieger

Everyone was excellent--we were early for our appt but they took us in anyway--the gentleman who helped direct us was also wonderful--nice to be treated so well.

Daniella Ongaro

Extremely poor triage (especially for mental health). Waited from 10pm until 6am with an acute mental health crisis and were not directed to go elsewhere. Also went in with an acute leg injury which they didn’t even X-ray, told me it was a few muscle bruise. Turned out it was broken when I sought an X-ray from my GP several days later. Poor competence, triage, care, and care planning.

Zach Heinrichs

Usually this place is amazing and staff is very friendly. However, this morning the triage nurse is very rude and impatient. Came back Sunday morning (as im writing this) for a reassessment on my wife and was saying she is a lier and wanted to get in faster. Didn't catch the name of her as she wouldn't even face towards us. This is truly unprofessional and rude especially with calling my wife a lier...

annette gilbody

My experience is great. It's very clean the staff is friendly and the service is fast. goed. O just recret that it can't do imaging etc.

Justine Seward

Worst hospital ever. Waited for 5 hours while my 2 year old daughter continued to have blood filled diarrhea.

Doreen McKort

Staff was excellent! They made us feel very comfortable and served us in a very timely manner. The whole process went very well. Highly recommended. Sam, Ken and Gordon were extremely friendly and courteous.
