Have you addressed at all how you neglected little Emmy??? Shame on you. Will be making sure none of my Canadian friends bring their babies to your facility. How are you going to make this right for Emmy and her family?

Hopes Room journey

I'm giving a 1 today for the following reasons: 1. Been here 6 hours 2. No relief for my daughter who has not eaten since Tuesday (it's Friday) 3. The triage nurses are rude and don't give amy answers 4. They say they are "prioritizing". So kids who are less sick then mine go in first So extremely disappointed with this. This is supposed to be the BEST place to bring your child, i feel its the WORST

Jonathan Schwabe

By far one of the best Children's hospital In canada!

Rob Allard

Doc in a small town sent us here for CT Scan. Emergency, got a plane and 2 ambulance to get here. POS doc here just decides with her infinite wisdom that the other docs opinion doesn't matter, and the patient should just sit in the waiting room overnight. What the hell happened to our country? Go somewhere else if you can.

Chris Fearon

Took my daughter in after a very poor experience at a local Medicenter for a bad laceration. We were seen super quick, the triage staff know how to deal with kids, and do it VERY well. All the staff we interacted with were amazing, made both my daughter and I feel at ease with the situation, and dealt with the laceration far faster than the first clinic. Went in with not high expectations after the first clinic and came out very happy with the treatment, and speed of treatment. Bedside manner is hands down the best for small kids, and the staff sure know how to treat them.

My daughter ended up there last Saturday. They had very strict protocols.. during a pandemic.. I fully understand. It seemed there was caring people that work within the protocols, and really went above and beyond for us. My daughter got the help she needed as well.. There was heart in my experience.

So I guess 1 year old babies arent as important as a 12 year old with a cough. The wait time is long miserable espically with a teething miserable baby.

Jay

Waited 3 hours to get into a room, nurse was rude and very condescending. Just had an ultrasound and have been waiting for an hour to get back to my emergency room. I've been here for almost 7 hours now and they've only done 20 minutes of work. Good intentions, very inefficient.

Samuel Adedire

Very friendly and professional. The doctors and nurses were very helpful. Good job

Rekt Raphl

I'm so grateful with all the attention in this hospital. A lot of patience and love for the kids. They inform us about everything and the see my child every half hour. We recieved all the attention including food, medicine and supplies and everyone with an smile on the face. Everything super clean and quality. Thank you to all the nurses and doctor and the workers of the hospital. I highly recomend and is not money in the world that can pay all the Care with kids

I had to get constant care every 3 years for a problem that I was born with when I was a child, the staff helped me alot since I was 3, making sure that the hospital felt like home to me! I remember always being excited to go to the hospital because as a kid, I really loved the interior- even now at almost 18, I still love the interior! I also was admitting into the cardiac unit about two years ago, because I had gall stones and needed surgery to remove my gall bladder and they had no space in the gastrointestinal unit. The nurses helped me so much, they were there 24/7 and kept on asking me if I was okay, even though (thankfully) i had suffered no future pain during my stay. The surgery was quick and I was able to start walking within a day, the nurses there cheered me on while I walked with the iv machine. It just feels like home. Highly recommend this hospital and I hope to work in the hospital once I get my degree!

mohe safar

Best hospital in Edmonton ever I’m recommended special 4C unit

Kyle Santucci

Staff are nice but you have to wait for hours. And I got sick because there's lots of sick people in there.

E T

Excellent patient care for my daughter. Everyone is so nice and caring.

Victor Jose Espiritu

I, personally actually had to stay in this hospital for weeks on end, receiving chemotherapy, about 5 years ago, and I can say that I am so happy to have stayed in such an environment. I was diagnosed with a germinoma brain tumor in January 2013, and I remembered everyone being so kind, and caring. It was truly an amazing staff who really cared for me and wanted for me to become healthy. Just an amazing place that will also offer kids who are struggling with life threatening illnesses like childhood cancer a chance to go do summer programs, such as kids cancer care, or family camp. Honestly, a miraculous place to have stayed in. Helped change my life, so I would be cancer free. :)

Angela Rubenuik

Been sitting here since 12:30 with a 3 year old. And it's now 4:30 no dr has even bothered to come look at her at all. People talking in the halls. You try and ask a nurse a question and she speaks back with a snarly I don't know how much longer. I have been watching the charts and none have moved since I have been here. No one even comes to check on us at all. I don't recommend this at all

Roxana Murray

Day Ward right at the 114 St Entrance. So grateful and thankful for the caring hands and words of the staff and specialists at the Day Surgery Pediatrics

Ann Mital-Mercado

Were in the waiting area for almost 2.5 hours then were here in the room waited for more than 2 hours. Total waiting for 5 hours now can't believe there's only one doctor for the whole department :(

Emma

This is the LAST place you want to take your child with mental illness. Not only was the wait 6-7 hours, I went and the nurses and mental team were so supportive but when it came to the psychiatrist, they brushed everything off, even though knowing I was in danger of myself. I was sent home and told to take more meds, do more therapy, in which I already have been doing. Wasted my time, and I’m severely disappointed.

Jake Gorman

After hearing neglect on that little girl that needed someone to help. Her in the pain she had... Instead of offering a hand they closes the door... Horrible to hear!

Pysco69

They made me wait 5 hours because they put me on the wrong list Disappointed

Kurt Sproule

My daughter just had brain surgery at the Stollery, and I can't say enough about our amazing Neurosurgeon Dr Pugh. He was professional, kind and compassionate. He did a marvelous job and even managed to keep all of my daughters hair (as per requested). Her scar looks to be already healed up and it's only been just over a week!! Thank you for a successful surgery Dr Pugh.

Anita Kibel

They are there to help kids but do very little to help. My 11 months old baby had high temperature of 39.8 Celsius for 3 weeks, body weakness, inability to sleep at night, loss of appetite, diarrhea and other flu like symptoms. She was gradually draining in my eyes. I went there and all they told me was use tylenol and advil alternatively (10times a day). I doubt who gives such prescription because even adults take tylenol after 4 hours minimum. Fast forward, with all the painkillers my daughter's temperature was still same. I brought her back after 5 days and all they told me was that they know it is a sad and painful situation but there is nothing they can do to help the situation even if the fever extends to two months. My heart bleeds for my child.

Duncan Shannon

Best hospital ever!!!

Clone Trooper

never been here but it seems poggers

Kirby gaming 999

I used to be here when I had a stroke you can't see my face it's blurry my camera also please don't post this to Facebook

Alexandria F. Hill

You know exactly why im giving one star. That whole situation could of easily been prevented if the nurses had actually done their job.

Nyajuok Gatdiet

My daughter has open heart surgery there, thanks to medical staff, the surgeons and doctors/nurses, they sure know what they are doing, thank you so much for the supports, God bless you and your jobs!!!

We were visiting Edmonton when my 7 month old stopped breathing. We called 911 and he was taken to the Stollery. During the ambulance ride my son was given Tylenol and his fever was starting to subside. When we got to the hospital they checked his vitals and then asked us to wait to be seen. I had his vitals checked twice, once they gave him advil. We have been waiting for 6 hours now and my 7 month old has still not been seen. I was told he needed to be seen because he had a seizure which is serious but since he looks okay now, it is not an emergency. Here is my issue, the nurses and emergency care personnel see so many patients that the patients they see have just become #'s to them rather than humans. They lack the human element of empathy and care. My son is 7 months old and was brought in an ambulance but until they have seen him passed out, not breathing or having a seizure they don't care. I wish we had an option for private care especially for situations like this because I would never support public care & not have to be forced to stand such lack of customer care. Its quite sad that we pay so much in taxes for such awful patient care.

My son had a bike accident and hurt his wrist. His family doctor told us to see an orthopaedist immediately. When we arrived at the emergency room at the Stollery Hospital there were probably no more than a couple of persons sitting there. It was at around 10:30 of a weekday morning. We got checked in by a nurse almost right away. Another nurse came and showed us to the doctor's office and we waited there for about 20 minutes until the doctor came. The doctor was very patient and friendly. And then we waited for another 20 minutes to be shown into the X-ray room and have images taken. Then, we were shown back to the doctor's office, waited for another 20 minutes to be told by the same doctor that there was no bone fracture. The entire process in the hospital took roughly 1.5 hours. I give this hospital 5 stars. It's not to say that that I or anyone should love going to this hospital but out of the very few visits that I've made, each one has been basically painless.

Jelena Ćeranić Ranđelović

All the best !

maninderjit singh

Hang on don’t have more star option other wise I gave you. Doctors and nurses are so good attitude. Doing really grate job.

Mrninhoninja

The best hospital that I've been into. Awesome staff...

susan ross

My son had heart surgery as an infant and he has continued to get check-ups throughout the years just had his last checkup before he turns 18, nurses and doctors are so attentive and they are so amazing!! Thank-you for everything!!

Pheba Joy

Had to visit here for my baby multiple times.. long waiting times which I can understand is normal. However, except one Nurse who was very rude, everyone else in the ER were empathetic.

WY N

This is very outstanding hospital and we never have any bad experiences in our visits. Nurses and Doctors have enthusiasm to their jobs and really take good care of patients and also family's feelings. I am glad that Edmonton has such an amazing children hospital and thanks for all the healthcare workers!

P M

My personal experiences with the Stollery have always been positive. The wait times can be frustrating, but as with any emergency room, patients are triaged based on urgency. When my son was 6, he started suffering chronic pain and swelling in his hip joints to the point he could barely walk. We brought him into several doctors and pediatricians who all said there was nothing wrong with him. It was a Stollery ER doctor who finally referred him to the rheumatology department where he was diagnosed with juvenile arthritis. His quality of life drastically improved after this diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Fast forward four years, he has been seen on other occasions in the ER for broken bones and mental health concerns. The nurses are knowledgeable and patient with children who are anxious and fearful. The staff have good bedside manners with the children. When my son was younger he was given an iPad to play on. I understand it’s frustrating to parents who think their child is sicker than others and should be seen right away. The longest I have had to wait here was 4 hours, which with a 9 year old with a broken collarbone, felt very long. But they gave him a wheelchair and the doctor came into the waiting room to talk to us and check on him. He might have been more comfortable in an exam room, but it would not have affected his outcome. I will continue seeking treatment at and donating to the Stollery.

Danny Cripps

Love the; EPS, Ambulance Drivers, University Hospital, Stollery Hospital, Triage personal. These great people's of our greatest hero's. Great Job, thanks for everything

Derrick Robinson

Triage staff is wonderful. Unfortunately is was 3 hrs waiting in triage and another 90+ min just to see a Dr. Apparently only 2 Dr's. work emergency. I will not bring my children here again. That kind of a wait time is unacceptable when it comes to children . I would give this place less a negative star if it were possible.

Wendy Dawn

Worst childhood mental health emergency care in Canada. 12 hours in emerg.

Steven Klyne

My step daughter has attempted suicide 5 times in the last 8 months. The stollery refuses to help her in any substantial way. All they do is send her home every time hoping it won't happen again. Shes cutting herself, tried to drown, and tried to hang herself. They keep sending her home saying shes fine. I have no respect or confidence in the stollery anymore.

Brenda lee doel

These doctors and specialists are soooooo accommodating when your going through the motions of disease. Once they were done chopping at my daughters insides. Those caring doctors went away. No care. No how to prevent my daughter from pain. Dissatisfaction. No like. Sent off to other so called specialists. It’s a living nightmare. Your left to disaster. Then when the child is in utter pain at home for a month. ????????????

Best Hospital To Be In EVER!!!! I Got Recovered In Just A DAY!! This Place Is Near The Health/Sciences Jubilee LRT. LUV IT!!

Bonnie Mcphee

I don't think you can give a Children's Hospital less than 5 that cares this much. My son was in for a minor thing compared to a lot of children here. They know how to talk to Children, they know how to treat Children, they are amazing. I am so glad we have this Hospital in our province. My American friends can't believe the amount of care they give.

SAKTHIVEL RAMACHANDRAN

Yes. We are all need to be more patience as a patient when it comes to Stollery. Very great people work on this place towards the good cause for the Communities in Edmonton. Nevertheless, the priority has been taken care of promptly and they work their best to service the people. So appreciate the work they do for our kids as they are very much like us in the future. Very thankful for all the staffs, nurse and doctors .

keira

this place saved my life as a child and left me with only good memories (which for someone who has a terrifying fear of hospitals is hard to do) i remember a magic show and a beach party in the play room, how the dinosaur on my bathroom door reminded me of little foot from the land before time, i remember how nurses and doctors who would talk to me for ages until i would let them give me a needle. i truly believe this is the best facility to take a scared child in need

Angelica Beene

It’s so sick what you guys did to that little girl. All you had to do was double check her IV. She’s a baby, how could you ignore her for hours?

Maura G

Went to stollery about 4 days ago daughter gets rushed there by ambulance for a seizure and temp at 39.1 get to hospital temp goes down to degrees wait hours to see doctor and all the doctor could tell use was to go see our peditition for further testing like they cant tell us why shes sick than doctors gives us a paper telling us about seizures and say read and any question ask me than leaves and doesn't come back the nurse tried to answer our question and said you ask doctor he will tell you the same but no doctor to ask worst hospital ever care more for Tim hortons than patients stollery for sick not stollery for none sick

Kirk Dewhurst

It’s unfortunate that there are negative reviews considering the life saving work that goes on here. I understand wait times can be long but we all can be more patient. The are prioritizing that needs to be taken into consideration. If you child were in dire circumstances I know that you would get immediate help. All the great work that goes on here should be congratulated. Great place for kids to come to a place to hopefully be healed. I had a close friends child that had a serious accident and they had nothing but good to say about the Stollery.

Ash Lynnn

Overall i do love this hospital and they have saved my sons life. But my son has a rare medical condition and I am so tired of constantly fighting with staff on how to save his LIFE. If you dont know about CAH that is fine, i understand you nurses dont know and probably have never heard of the condition. But dont tell me I cant give my son juice that will save his life! Here is some quick cah notes for those interested in learning instead of arguing with me. People who have classic CAH are at risk of adrenal crisis because they have very LOW levels of cortisol in the blood. This can cause diarrhea, vomiting, dehydration, low blood sugar levels and shock. **** Adrenal crisis is a life-threatening medical emergency that requires immediate treatment.**** !!!!!!!!! Salt-wasting CAH is the severe form of classic 21-hydroxylase deficiency. In this type of CAH, the adrenal glands make too little aldosterone, causing the body to be unable to retain enough sodium (salt). Too much sodium is lost in urine (thus the name, "salt-wasting"). When a person Salt Wastes their potassium goes up causing a heart attack. Dont tell me not to give my son something to drink or that he "looks fine" he was not fine. We dont give IM injections if he is fine. He gets oral meds if he is fine. An IM is because hes about to die. You dont see what goes on before he is brought into emergency. Dont argue with me what your opinion is when that is not his reality. So next time we are in a crisis you can refer back to my review and have a better understanding of why I am crying and screaming for a juice box or something to keep his levels up.

(Translated) I would like to give 2 reviews since I have 2 completely different scenarios since the work in the emergency room is completely different from what you experience inside the hospital, emergency personnel terrible service from the nurses at least that is my experience since they are extremely rude, bureaucrats and zero empathy with people, we were 24 hours in the emergency room waiting for my son to go to surgery for a broken elbow and arm, I understand that there are other situations of greater urgency but the treatment was horrible, the child came with a lot of pain obviously and we had to beg for something for the pain my wife just asked in a kind way not even annoyed, how much longer did we have to wait? And the answer was (we do not own the time the doctors have to wait) 24 hours and it is not an exaggeration we were all that time. The entrance and registration staff, the same theme, seem to be more respectful to people who arrive altered by drugs than to a mother who only asks, (How long do I have to wait? Or can you give my son a pain medication?). On the other hand, the staff inside the hospital very friendly, completely committed and professional service, amazing facilities and above all what is needed outside in emergencies a great human warmth and empathy with people who suffer from an accident or illness of a person to whom you love, completely 2 different worlds.

I wen't there yesterday because am taking medication for my anixity. It got to the point where it actually become a health concern because how much weight I was losing from my anxiety because I would be constantly sweating and having anxiety attacks every couple minutes. and I didn't know how bad an energy drink would be with my medication. Well let's just say it didn't react well at all, and I literally felt like I was having an heart attack. And I had a good reason to believe it was as well, considering my whole left arm got numb and I couldn't breathe for for solid hours properly, that and extreme chest pain. I explained the situation to the EMS who seemed to be understanding, but since I am 17 there had to bring me to the children's stollery because of my age. Anyways when I got there the nurses were extremely rude and gave me weird looks and was disrespectful to me, which made my anixity so mush worst then it already was (that and the amount of stress it was going to the hospital).there got me in a room and i waited 3 hours for an doctor to speak to me (it was about 1 AM at the time and literally seen no other patient there, not even in the waiting room). And eventually there hooked me up to this machine to see if my heart was healthy and I make it wasn't an heart attack. Before I even got the results back from the doctor I had an nurse come in my room just to say "you know you can leave now right?" I wish I was joking... The doctor comes in a few minutes later to explain the reason why I felt like i was having an literal heart attack and gave me some meds to ease down my chest pain. And the doctor said I was good to go.. i explained to them I had no way back across town.. I didn't bring my phone or debit card. Because I totally forgot about it when the ambulance came because I nearly collapsed making it out of my house and there had to put me on a sketcher. And that's the main reason I didn't want to go to the hospital in the first place, because I was afraid of how I would get back.. but the EMS wouldn't let me go because it could have been an mild heart attack so they had to bring me to the hospital. They eased my worries at the time because they said they would figure a way back once I get released and said I shouldn't worry about it, which I thought would have been the case at the time. And at that time I had no friend or family who could have drove me home at 5 AM. A nurse told me I could wait in the waiting room and wait till morning to take the bus home, I explained I didn't even bring cash or anything, because I left pretty quickly because it felt really serious and didn't expect to be out that soon. And again the nurse was exemplary disrespectful and suggested I waited In the waiting room until children services could come and pick me up (even know I live on my own and have nothing to do with them?) And this is after I explained I was extremely tired and said I felt like I was going to past out at any moment.. again, very disrespectfully she said that wasn't their problem and I had to figure a way back myself. i understand that some of the nurses are not used to someone with really bad anixity. My anxiety actually started to get to the point where I constantly passed out over anxiety attacks. And with me being basically an adult at the children's stolery there probably not used too that either, but it's not like I wanted to be there at all either. There gave me such bad anixity from the disrespect that there gave me horrible anixity Attacks(Even known I tried my best to be as polite and forward as possible, which was extremely hard with my anixity being as bad as it was at the time) I guess there might have thought it was a waste of there time or something and it wasn't an actual medical concern? I honestly wasn't quite sure why I was treated so horribly, the doctor was the only one that was half what nice to me. And I eventually ended up walking home at around 5 AM across town ( 2 and half hour walk) just to get home get some rest.. collapsed a couple times making it home... Fun times lol

Justin Steen

Our 10 month old is now very sick because we waited over 4 hours in the waiting room and caught something very nasty when older kids were going in first.

David Allard

There is no better place to feel safer with my children when they are in need of medical care. The staff is amazing and supportive, the layout of the kids area includes lots of fun activities for the kids to do.

Nadia Obaid

It was worth waiting. Dr. Slomp is very professional and patient. He explained everything in details and answered all my questions and concerns. The nurse was very kind and professional, too.

Legacy Films

My wife's mom looked up the wait time and on the website it said 1 hour, my wife my daughter and i have been waiting here for 3 hours so far and there is a person on stretcher has been here waiting for the same amount of time as well as 2 other babies.. I'm sorry but babies or injured people should take priority

Michael Christopher

saved my life!!!

Regina Friesen

We were taken care of really good. We weren’t sent home until all the details for our daughter illness and paperwork for our home hospital was taken care of and the doctors were comfortable with the care we would get. Thank you!

Jessica Young

The doctors have nice bed-side manners. Waiting times can be a little long but I don't believe that this is entirely the fault of the hospital -- the healthcare system often appears quite backlogged. At any rate, our experience was fine.

Michele Demeria

Son has a suspected concussion making him woozy with unbearable headache. They gave him ADVIL

dane rude

Very good place to take children

Christopher Morrison

Look up Emmy. The little girl with Downs who had open heart surgery and then in recovery had an IV misplaced. Then when she screamed in pain she was ignored ALL NIGHT until she passed out from the pain. Now her nerves are damaged and will never have full sensation in her hand.

(Translated) Terrible hospital, do not take a child here, the customer service cold assistants take a minimum of 6 hours to attend know how to prioritize ... Terrible!! Wait time is forever and why is there only one children's hospital !!! So stupid they need another this one is over crowded and also get more staff !!

Thushara Jay

Visited few times and every time the experiences were great. The nurses were so friendly and helpful. It was word class. Waiting times for each test and surgery was very responsible. Most of the time it was just over a month. Dr Dicken and the team was very professional. The nursing staff including ms Karen were so friendly and helpful in section 4D. Never forgot to smile regardless how busy they were. They really made the stay “even better than home” for my daughter. The play area called “The beach” was amazing. So many activities for the kids staying in the wards. Thanks so much to all the staff in Stollery Children’s Hospital!!

VICTORIA H

Excellent Child doctors and nurses.

Tanya Ford

My daughter and I regularly visit the stollery for blood transfusions and the staff are always more than great. 1 problem I have just run into is I bought a pop out of the vending machine with my Visa and got charged $6.00 for just 1 pop. Anyone else have the same problem? Use change or bills to save your money.

Nayan Upadhyay

I don’t know how many times I says thanks.

Terry Peristerakis

Our new born son needed Open Heart Surgery days after birth, and the NICU and the PCICU were absolutely amazing. We had great nurses day in and out and were great to talk to, help out, and answer questions. The DR staff was also great, and very helpful. Our entire experience at this hospital was so much better than what we had in Winnipeg, and changed the situation a lot. In addition we really like the hospital, the lay out was great. The garden on the 4'th floor is nice, and the courtyard area is pretty nice too. Very good experience in the end, but happy to be home now.

Karen Felker

Very kind an friendly staff

Terry Sherbourne

we go there every 4 weeks with my daughter staff are fantastic and make her feel at ease as she is scared of needles .

Liam

The nurses in the ICU clinic are the most caring and nicest people around and know what they are doing. They also do a great job of keeping the family informed and as comfortable as possible while there. The hospital is also very well looked after as it is a very clean facility. I would give a way higher rating but I can only give five stars. Thank you for all the awesome work your staff do!

darin froese

Amazing and attentive staff, cannot say enough about how well we were treated, kept us involved and always felt like we were in good hands, don't hesitate to Donate!! amazing work being done here.

H S

Great Place! Child Friendly! The rooms are all painted with different colors, so the kids feel more welcome! The nurses and Doctors are great! Dr Olsen and Nurse Shelly are very good in their jobs, great professionals!

Jorllet Shaw

I do not recommend at all. Every time I’ve taken any of my kids in we have to wait more then 5 hours and majority of the time get sent home being told to alternate Tylenol and Advil. This time is the last time I will be taking my infant there as this time he was gasping and chocking on air not being able to breath ans the whole time the nurses constantly brushed us off as my son couldn’t breath till he put himself to sleep from attempting to cry but not being able too.

Bissi Leb

Very kind friendly helpful knowledgeable you feel better when you get there you know your child I safe hands thank you so much and very appreciated for helping my son today bless you all (ibtissam)

Harley F. GoodWheeler

my daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, this was the best facility for training us to this new hurdle. fantastic facility cant say enough good things about this hospital

peter kosson

I can't say enough good things about this place. Service is fairly quick compared to most places staff is informative caring and gentle. Amazing place

Ryssa Sonnleitner

Have been sitting here for over 3hrs with a toddler who shouldve been seen right away due to why we are here. They bring people back who came in AFTER you and even when you tell them its getting worse they still dont care. Will be the last time i bring my child here.

Chelzee Proctor

I had 2 brain surgeries there and they were fantastic

Carmen Matinez

How many hours you have to wait until you get into? How many doctors are in emergency? We was waiting for 4 and a half hour and nothing. There was 16 people before us most of them have a flu. How many time it can take to examine a kid with flu? We was there because my daughter can walk. After 4 hours the nurse said that they can give her a ibuprofen for the pain because that is what the doctors could will be made. I can believe! ! Seriously ????

Scott Davis

this hospital needs shut down after wat happened to a little girl yesturday. The nurses are worthless an all need fired asap. Never take your child here please don't

Gurpreet Singh

Only one doctor working in emergency if you have same time 2 emergency patients then what you do? Wait time is more than 5 hours it's too much for child who can't say his problem. .

It's just amazing.....as docs and nurses attended my daughter asap after reaching there. ....loved it

Mohamed Abdi

it's amazing how they help the kids.

Gary Nolan

Wonderful place! Staff are top notch and love kids. I can't say enough good things about the level of care my son received. This place and the people who work there made some very dark days so much brighter for my family. Thank you Strollers, my family owes you everything!

Steph Purkis

Been here 10 mins and this is the worst hospital ever..wow. So unorganized and unprofessional

Maël Bartlett

Great staff, quick and timely.

My child was admitted with a 40 degree temperature. Had to wait 5 hours to even be seen even though she was delirious and having problems staying awake. The emergency nurses put in an IV in her because she was dehydrated. They attempted to take blood 10 times, blew her arm veins out and were only successful 3 out of those ten times to collect blood samples. The first time they put an IV in, they didn’t turn on the drip and it said on her chart she had a whole bag of IV when that was not true. There is an extreme lack of communication between nurses and nurses and doctors. What one doctor would say, a nurse would not be aware of and vice versa. Nurses sat outside the door giggling when one was tasked with taking blood making joking remarks. While some nurses seem to actually care and treat children like humans, the majority here seem to treat this as an entry level job. My child is four and small. All over her hands and arms are bruising to the point where she looks like a drug user. My child complied with the poking in the beginning, she’s tough and very gentle in her personality. Now she is traumatized by the nurses and by needles, and their roughness with her. She is now screaming and waking from a dead sleep screaming because she thinks nurses are going to touch her again and hurt her. She was a cuddled and now hates being touched. She screams to be saved from them and the mental toll it is taking on her aggravates me to no end when it could have been avoided had they just taken the care to make sure blood draws here done by nurses who were competent. One nurse was able to do it in about 30 seconds and was easily successful. The amount of trauma they put my child through is deplorable and we will never EVER bring her here again.

Even in Covid times with huge overburden in admissions (not the fault of the great admin, nurses and doctors who work here), my kid was triaged, xray’d and diagnosed within 3 hrs. Yes it sucks to wait and yes, every kid is important. But these guys and gals do their best. I would send my kids here for emerg any time of day or night.

Bad experience, 3.5 hours wait period. AHS should spend money to hire more nurses and doctors. My little one out of patience.

The u of a hospatil and the strollers really need staff but the care that my mom got was excellent they made my mom feel good and I would like to give a thanks to dr ahmeed and his staff at the hospatil too for finding out what is going with my mom too Thankyou

Pat Kris

The person at the help and information desk was kind enough to walk with me all the way to where I wanted to go. This happened by the end of the day,but she had a big smile and a real spirit of helping those in need. Thank you.

Its sad that there are so many bad reviews people whining about having to wait for a couple hrs. This place is where children with the most severe medical conditions are taken care of first as it should be. we spent the better part of 3 months when our child was born with a heart condition and the again twice after for more heart surgery believe me they never quit.

Iryne Go

Been there doctor ifnore my grandaughter for 3.5 hours. Nurses are rude and doesn't give you info or help at all.

Tohalo 02

This was such a disappointing experience. The nurses are unfriendly and having to wait 4 hours is unbelievable when you have a child with a fever of 39.9 while barely able to walk. I can not even express my dissatisfaction.

Robert Ettel

Excellent facility. My child received the best care here ever. Doctors that take their time and explain everything to parents and are so genuine!

Georde Ocampo

I can't believe that you need to wait for 5 hours here my baby was dehydrated due to excessive vomiting but this hospital was terrible and you will surely lose your patience.

Christine Johnson

Maybe it was just the time of day but this morning my daughter was struggling to breath. We were seen right away and the nursing staff and E.R doc (Dr. Lee) were so fantastic with her. She was terrified to go to the docotor but everyone was so good with her and we were in and out. She is 2.5 years old. I couldn't be happier with the staff

Crystal

We had such good care- from our paramedics to the amazing team here at the stollery. Thank you for taking such good care of our daughter.

Jamie Harding

Had our daughter here for some dental work on general anestesia. As a father I was quite scared of the whole thing even though its minor compared to what a lot of kids have to deal with. The nurses, doctors and staff know what they’re doing here. I was very impressed with all they did to help our daughter feel comfortable. I’ll be forever grateful to how well they treated her ????

Katherine Luknowsky

We had to bring our youngest son here for a sedated ABR at the age of three years old. He lives with autism and we called ahead to inform the team about what could be expected. They had everything prepared for us when we arrived to keep him as comfortable as possible and the whole procedure went incredibly smoothly overall. They had some sensory toys and a quiet room set aside for him and removed all of the drama that could’ve potentially occurred from him disrupting other children or procedures. We never felt like a burden and they were all gracious and kind to us every step of the way.

Do not bring your kid who has mental illness because they are don’t do nothing to help, they don’t recognize when kid is in self danger, so wow if kid said to them that they will go for therapy and will not harming them self actually they believe the kid not parents and they let kid like that home , my question is did you really finish the school for mental health or just blabbing nonse nse! Horrible experience not just one time, probably more then 10 times.. the Knowledge of this doctors and nurses for mental health it’s 0 they just trust kids , Thanks for great help I don’t know why I even paying in mental help but I will for sure contact them!!!

Kaitlyn Jensen

extremely unimpressed with how they’re handling the pandemic.

BC M

Overall OK experience. Loved the social worker that went around making sure everyone was comfortable. Loves a hand full of the nurses, very sweet and caring. But like all places there was some very mean and harsh nurses that talked badly about patients and the kids in open areas where I could hear it. I think a couple nurses in there definitely lack sympathy and friendliness.

I give a 1 because of how dirty the waiting room 3A1.42 NICU Parent Lounge is ...I have been sitting here for 1 week and the furniture has not been moved there is so much filth and garbage underneath and the floor I believe has not been washed because the new stains from throughout the week are still showing...come on housekeepers this is a hospital not a dump ????

Bella Andoh

This is the most amazing place for children. The nurses, doctors, dietary aides, and the housekeepers are all phenomenal. The staff members are supportive, compassionate, and competent. I am extremely grateful for this hospital and the health professionals who work here. My son received the best care during his stay. I can't stop praising the healthcare professionals of the Stollery. ❤❤❤

Prabh Gill

Some times the staff at front are not fare they go by raise of kids we can understand sick kids go 1st but still they make other sick kids to wait more than 6 hours even the kid doesn’t eat or drink any thing for more than 24 hours and crying in pain no medicine is given

Charlene Teskey

My son and I had an appointment with Dr. Izak. 8am was appointment time Doctor still haven't made it and it is now 10am.

ruchi kanwar

Cannot thank enough all the staff and doctors. The way they take care of patients and motivate them is speechless. You all are wonderful ❤️❤️

Zuo Liu

how many people work for ENT? one or two? !!wait for a few days to get an appointment because it is not emergency! We came back on time waiting forever, no one checked the foreign object in kid's nose because they cannot control the timeline, if any place provides efficient service, I would like to pay for the quality service. AHS needs revolutionary changes to improve," monopolized public health services" will disappoint patients.

Cassie Stark

9/10 doctors we have dealt with are absolutely incredible. We did deal with on doctor who was a waste of our time but other then that doctor, we have had nothing but amazing experiences at the stollery hospital. Compassionate and caring nurses and doctors.

Samantha Jordan

Just read a story about u guys. And I pray that I would never need to take my children there. Smh poor Baby Girl Emmy

Garret Verreault

This hospital is embarrassing, there is no communication between patients and doctors. The communication between doctors and nurses is non existent. Very disorganized, they don't return calls, you can't leave voice mails with the doctors and when you do finally talk to one they only give 30% of the information that you need! We were not told a specific time for our daughter's CT scan also after we asked if she needed it the nurses gave us conflicting information about whether she needed it or not. Is this the kind of health care our children deserve?!

RapGang Lyrics

been here since 12 bc i got detainedbc i was going to kill myself.i have been in this waiting room for 5 and a half hours now after seeing the nurses let everyone else fill up all the beds (there was a full waiting room)i asked the lady and she said "all the beds are taken up so you need to wait until some open up" i cant leave the building and i have been waiting here for almost 6 hours because the nurses ignored my whole existence.dont come here ever for your mental health

corey lyttle

Best staff you can ask for to take care of your kids

Edis Clay

Thanks for great services.

My Grandson was injured at a rec center and his mother and I took him to the Stollery emergency as he clearly needed stitches. I have never been to the Stollery before, although I have heard all about it. I have never been more impressed with the people in a hospital. From the triage nurse( I don't recall his name but he was there early Saturday afternoon on July 14) to the nurses we saw to the Doctor (I believe it was Doctor "Nick") who gave my Grandson 5 stitches - everyone was amazing.

Isaac Guwara

Friendly staff. Just wish they had more kids snacks
