Nursing staff in the hospital proper are fabulous. Avoid emergency if at all possible (20 yrs experience going here.) Also, the irony of the framed land acknowledgment hung on the wall by emergency vs the attitudes and opinions of the staff towards indigenous people is next level.

They do the best they can, the staff tries to get you into a room in a timely fashion. Dr. Chapman is great at going through everything with you to put you at ease. The nurse Derrick we had was able to shed some light and have us all smiling after a stressful situation. The do a great job in the hospital with cleanliness, it always looks clean. I also had surgery here and the staff was super amazing. Dr Fletcher made me feel safe and in the best hands and he did a beautiful job on my incisions.

Don’t go there if you are going to the ER. Your Better off driving 45 or even 3 hours to the next closest hostipal. All the doctors I’ve ever had there are ignorant and rude. I have a intense medical history and had to go there for not being able to breath and almost passing out as soon as I was able to breath again thy stopped caring about me. I don’t have asmtha and this has happened 3 times. They said I inhaled a popcorn seed and when I ask the doctor if I would of done that three times he said well I’m not with you. Now I did not inhale a popcorn seed. He was rude and I broke down into tears when he left a few times during my stay. Just don’t go there. He constantly said little stabs to me and put me down. It’s not worth it it’s very slow and if u get a room if your having a serious emergency they’ll stop caring once it’s not exciting for them anymore. Horrible experience

They do the best they can, the staff tries to get you into a room in a timely fashion. Dr. Chapman is great at going through everything with you to put you at ease. I was in yesterday for my knee surgery and was done by Dr Sunail Kumar who is super professional and very down to earth.Very clean hospital and what a phenomenal staff and team players he has, all are super caring and very knowledgeable .Shelley ,Aaron and Lauren took such good care of me in the day ward before and after the surgery. Porter was such a humble person too OR team was super caring and sweet all came to say hi including Dr Kumar and the anesthesiologist Rofel i think thats the name he told me he was super friendly as well. Last but not the least Jennifer Dr Kumars assistant in Smith clinic who helped me with a consulation appointment and setting up with my surgery date, thank you Jen!! All I have to say I recommend Dr Sunail Kumar 100% to all. My day stay in St Marys hospital was a blissful day. I thank each and everyone from the core of my heart, love and respect ????????

Recent knee surgery. Couldn’t imagine being taken care of any better. All staff were very friendly & knowledgeable. I was respectful to everyone I encountered, and they reciprocated two fold. I honestly don’t comprehend how they all can stay as positive as they do constantly surrounded by negative situations. Thank you St. Mary’s!

The emergency room is full of incompetent people who spend most of their time chatting with each other while the sick, elderly, and infants wait. Watched someone go through triage, sit and wait for over an hour, and then get told that they were never triaged... The staff makes it feel like their problems are your fault. Go ANYWHERE else for an emergency, even a vet. As said in earlier reviews if I could give zero stars I would.

I've spent the last two days here visiting a relative, so this review is from a visitor perspective not a patient viewpoint. The hospital is clean and tidy. I love all the art on the walls that brings some cheerfulness to the mostly white walls. Decor is tasteful. The staff are friendly, though busy. There are lovely little lounge areas all over for visitors, with a few patios outside as well.

I purposely, put off a surgery to have it done here, instead of Edmonton and I am super happy I did! The facilities are modern and clean, well kept and used by caring, trained professional staff. The pastor was approachable and the chapel open 24/7. One was NEVER treated as inconvenience but cared for kindly from the point they walked through the door until leaving and that was not rushed like hospitals in Edmonton that more resemble meat markets and are filthy. THANK YOU to ALL there for you wonderful, kind and thoughtful care and respect for me as a person. Will always be grateful!

I have had poor service from what i feel are inexperienced and non-caring staff. There are too many horror stories and if you only believe half of what you hear then that is still horrific. I suggest daysland, wetaskiwin, or a vet for anything worse than a scraped knee. The clinic i feel is no better. Google "Smith Clinic" for my Google review

Very slow, if you actually have an emergency... Dont go here. And all the doctors want to do is push pills on people so they can keep making money. This is a place i hope i never have to step foot inside again :( staff all seem so stuck up. The half hour trip to avoid this pathetic hospital is worth it. Shame on you st. Mary's.

A family member was admitted after a incident where they were severely dehydrated with cuts and abrasions. Being very weak not able to stand from a seated position they were discharged. Upon arrival to my home, they fell and had to be carried inside having accidents that make them feel helpless and depressed. If your loved one needs help DO NOT take them to Saint Mary's Hospital.

Dr Kumar and Dr Morrow were amazing! I had total knee replacement surgery. The Therapy Team led by Molly .... compassionate.... caring and amazing I’ve been here since Tuesday and every day my care was gotten worse and worse . Nurses don’t check in .... make me feel guilty asking for pain meds ... spend more time socializing in the hallways then they do helping patients. I’ve not been receiving my daily night time meds unless I ask for them . My pain has yet to be under control ... all they do is judge. Horrible after care

Knee Surgery. This was the best hospital I have ever been to. Very clean, staff was amazing!!!!! Parking there is cheap, drive from Edmonton is great (better than having to go to downtown Edmonton!) They follow up with you, when you go home! Highly recommend this hospital

This place gave me worst experience in my life regarding health services. They don't know what emergency means. I waited there more than 4 hours and got to know that only one doctor is there, so you have to wait more 2-3 hours. People were in pain waiting there but nobody cares. There is no option of zero star rating, otherwise i would have given zero star.

Some of the nicest staff however senior management seems totally inconsiderate and sub par. Most of the doctors were incredibly helpfully and kind, but some of them seemed a full page short of a textbook. I would not recommended this hospital in cases of mental heath or palliative care. I heard before 2016 they were one of the best but since they have become somewhat of a local legend.

If you are going for day surgery, they are great. If you are going to the ER, even with a toddler, just don’t. The wait times are atrocious, the staff cannot and will not give you a wait time, the renovations make it super cramped and they just generally don’t care about people walking thru the door, unless you are elderly.

Best nurses, doctors and staff by far - and I've been to every hospital in Edmonton and surrounding area. The staff at St. Mary's has never made me feel forgotten or an annoyance, and the excellent care I receive puts all the hospitals to shame. If you have to go to hospital, this is the only one to go to.

When I come in for my teeth because I can't afford a dentist my teeth are very bad so it will cost alot I dont like when the triage check in person tells me I should not smoke pot so I could afford my teeth rudest thing I have heard

Since a certain UN organization has taken charge of healthcare I've had so many people I care about have bad experiences here. A friend of my family went there with a legitimate issue and because she is unvaccinated the staff made it all about that and tried to tell her that it was OK to lock her in a room by herself. Had she not made a fuss, they would have done it. My girlfriend broke her foot and when she went to emergency she was ignored for over an hour by employees who were sitting in chairs, on their phones. When she brought in her two year old months later, who was having stomache pains because he had eaten something he shouldn't (it passed and he is now fine, thank you DAYSLAND,) they once again spent hours handwringing and acting foolishly because they care more about vaccine status than about being healthcare providers. You people are incompetent. Didn't you sign up to help people?

If you are able to go elsewhere for ER related issues, I highly suggest it. Wait times are atrocious...The ER sitting area was empty except for one person. We spoke with the admin, and then took a seat. Patiently waited 4 hours + while the sitting area filled up with people needing help. No updates from the staff on wait times or anything. Completely disorganized and not how an ER should be ran. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
