My sister and I brought my dad here when he was short of breath. They examined him quickly and did what they could to calm him and us. He was admitted that night so I stayed with him and all the doctors and nurses were very kind and listened to what he had to say and explained what they were going to do. I'm so glad we chose to bring him here. He stayed for a total of 9 days with no complaints. The food portions weren't very big (because most sick people don't have an appetite) so they told him the option of doubling up on stuff so he wasn't hungry all the time plus the little kitchens they have were handy for snacking! The tests were run in a timely matter and the results given that day with a plan as to what the next steps were going to be.

I had my baby at SHC last month and the maternity unit is amazing! The staff was great, especially nurse Gina, she was incredible. I did not have a support person with me and Gina helped me overnight and held my son so that I could get some sleep and she just made the entire hospital stay so much easier. Thank you so much !!!

Jack Nachef

Great service at the Joint and bone clinic, specially Polleen

Kyle Lebrocq

The staff is caring and very helpful. I've had problems with my stomach for years and every time I go into the hospital they fix me up within a few hours, the same thing would take over a week if I would stay at home. They are a god send if you ask me.

lily babe

Doctors act like robots for few mins check up and they didn’t even blink their eyes when I told them my condition. If they have hearts and care about people lives, they wouldn’t act like that at all.

KC McConnell

It was great to begin with and I am better now but some policies are ridiculous and don't cater to families and also they can really take things overboard with good reason. The last thing is that they've always forget to give me back my things Ex I got home to find out that my brand new $45 android charger was not give to me

I am now at this hospital. I brought my husband here and he is very weak and can barely talk. Multiple health issues. The gum chewing nurse... At the desk let us in the little glass room. She continued to chew her Gum. She barely moved from her semi reclined position. My husband was unable to speak when she asked him what was the problem. When he couldn't answer she says 'okaaay' ... As in Ok what's wrong with this guy. And not in a caring way either. I took over and talked for him. But who wants to come to a hospital and expect professionalism from the front door staff right up to the drs. And then be greeted with a gum chewing nurse. Her hand on her pot belly. Her legs stretched out under the desk and she doesn't sit up and present herself as a professional. I was not impressed. But the drs and nurses in ER are great. They are taking good care of my husband right now. That's my vent.

Garry Kushner

Because it is a fairly new facility

Taylor Koetler

Absolutely FANTASTIC staff in the emergency pediatric department. They were very efficient, friendly, helpful and so good with our 1.5 year old (and us parents). Admittance was quick with her head injury and they had her stitched up and feeling like herself again in less than 3 hours. We are SO grateful to everyone who assisted us.

I never seen like this hospital. My 4 years old daughter was so sick and we went to emergency at this hospital at 5AM after 1 hours that we were inside waiting for doctor’s visit I ask them how long dose it take to doctor see my daughter ? She said 4 passions are front of you and maybe it take from 1 to 9 hours!! after that I brought my daughter to children hospital ,that one was so far from us , but they care of sick children so much.

Sean MacDonald

Great facility, terrible location

Pavel Mayzus

Modern facility with open spaces, a coffee shop and YMCA. Doesn't have a depressing look and feel of a hospital.

Natalie Wood-Cordelle

I had to come here with my 6 month old daughter recently due to her having a fever alongside other symptoms of infection. The triage nurse asked thorough questions about her symptoms and the duration. Because this was the 4th attempt of us trying to get the help we needed we were seen very quickly by the doctor. The child doctor was kind and gentle and we were taken care of right away. And big shoutout to the nurses who were kind and understanding. Within an hour we had our diagnosis and not long after that a prescription for antibiotics. We were home in time for bed. I will come here again if we need medical attention rather than going to urgent care.

Mark Skierka

Beautiful facility run by a group with a rule for everything enforced by a legion of staff. I have been here with my family three times and each time a large section of the pool or pools was closed. Sometimes while we were in it! It was never announced why everyone needed to get out of the pool and stand on the side for an undetermined amount of time with their crying children. Not once but all three times we have been there. Also 2 areas of the pool were closed for lessons today as well as everyone being kicked out. One being the kids slide. Really? The slide needs to be closed so the instructor can sit at the bottom of the slide and play with toddlers? Isn’t there a better spot for that? Add the fact it costs $32 for my wife one year old and 1 to swim (or as we did every time, stand at the edge of the pool and wait to be allowed into the pool. Again with no explanation) for an hour. It continues with our brother in law having to pay full price to sit in the waiting area while the rest of us swim. Further to this, I am not sure why everyone needs to present their drivers liscence and disclose their address and phone number to use the facility. With this and all their staff monitoring your every move making sure you don’t go down the water slide without a tube, telling you to get out of the pool, then back into the pool, then this portion of the pool is closed (even though you paid full price to use the pool) it feels more like a army camp than a rec center.

This review is about the emergency department . Honestly few of the nurses were nice and very professional but a couple of them were very short with patients and had no empathy. Definitely not a trusted place if you are really sick.

Kevin Kiejko

Nicest hospital in Calgary. Fantastic facilities, and parking available.

Gareth Jones

Very nice facility. Amazing staff who are friendly. I was in and out very quickly

Joseph Richardson

David Smith

IAS admitted for a PE. They were completely undeetsning the entire time and always attended to my needs. If I were get hurt (knock on wood) I hope I deal with these guys. They are fully advanced and have the best equipment to get you diagnosis as soon as possible.

Shane the Kidd

Best service and experience I have every had at a hospital.

Couleehiker

Nice, clean & variety of equipment. Not often busy. Just around the 3-5pm period. Downside is that there's very little floor space to do exercises/warm ups with mats, medicine balls or kettle bells. You either pay for parking underground or try and find something out on the street which can be difficult. YMCA is building a new facility only a couple block away. So I'm not sure how it will impact this one in the future.

Nurses are seriously dangerous, losing samples and having to redo tests, 8 times they had to pierce needles into my wife's hands to try and draw blood and insert the IV. They also "misappropriated" blood and urine samples. Very rough with a patient with a possible spinal injury. I have to say if ever you are in need of emergency medical attention, hope that you don't end up here

Vincent Fuhrer

South Health Campus was just great!! The staff treats everyone like family!! What can I say about Dr. Stephen Hunt. If every surgeon like him no one would ever have any complaints. He is very caring individual that has the greatest knowledge & expertise in Orthopedic Surgery. For anyone who is under the care of Dr. Hunt, you could not as for a better surgeon & person.

Daryl “Canary” McConnell

I have been there before andit was a great experience compared to others especially out of province.

Lisa Beckstrom

Staff are super friendly and helpful, easy to get to on transit ,once you Google it. Great gift shop, and Goid Earth Cafe, a Rexall and Tim Hortons! They have been super helpful to our family at this time. Great new hospital in South Calgary! Thanks for your help. Lisa B.

Mohsen Andayesh

Clean, friendly staff

Can't wait to go

zaid jassim

Great

Ray Kay43

Excellent medical facility, short of a five star hotel. Staff is always caring for patients and visitors. Modern and up to date equipments and facilities. Very impressed with the Canadian healthcare system.

Connor

Would be 6 out of 5 but they fired Cooper. Dude had the cleanest squats around.

Travis

This YMCA is nice and clean, although there is no pool and it is about half the size of regular YMCA.

Muhammad Haider

Thank you Erin, Shaneen, Laurie, Dr Cindy, Dr Watson & Lisa! Their kindness and empathy helped us maneuver though our difficult situation! Thank you for everything, you guys will always remain in our hearts!! ♥️

Jessica Stewart

This hospital has the most amazing maternity unit! All of the staff are kind, caring, helpful, considerate, and respectful and it is obvious that they love what they do. I delivered my son there this week and could not have asked for a more positive experience! I am so grateful to the staff for all of their dedication and passion and will not forget their kindness.

Siraj Hunani

Very good location, hard working staff, quick, clean, wide variety of activities, something for everyone

Vincent Gladue

Easy to get to & nice atmosphere.

Dez Lee

Great hospital, they always take care of my family. Yes there will be wait times and yes there will be grumpy staff at times but ignore all the negative reviews. Keep in mind what the staff have to deal with and their hours. This place always has a pediatrician on hand as well. Always received excellent care, especially for my children.

Joshua Voskoboinikov

Very well taken care of, nice facilities, and friendly staff.

Mylojo Squire

Both visits to the neurology department were very pleasant. I was treated like someone they wanted to help. Coming away from there with an actual diagnosis was a blessing even though I didn't like it, knowing my problem was a relief.

Rob Bucchianico

Great staff and atmosphere

Gail Soucy

Best hospital in all of Calgary

I have been sitting here with my mom, who's doctor called and told her to go to the nearest emergency clinic. We have been here for 2 1/2 hours .. I realize this is not a terribly long time for a hospital however there is something wrong with her head ( her brain ) so it is fairly serious. I went up the the front desk and asked the nurses how long we will be waiting, as there has been a lot of people that came after her go in before her.. and she then cut me off and said " Actually she has only been here for an hour". I then said we had been here longer then that and she then cut me off again and said " the waiting time is on the wall if you have any questions" .. and then shut the doors in my face. I have never had someone let alone a "nurse" be so rude and down right ignorant for showing concern about my mom. Don't waste your time at this hospital. The staff are terrible, and I will never be coming here again. A HUGE FU to this "hospital"..

M H

Great hospital, service is good as well..

Luis Morales

Very good attention , longer than Expected but in my personal case Necessary to make sure that I was ok, thanks for your interest and care

Kelsey Bedford

Clean and open! I love the windows all around. Could use some more mirrors though but other than that it's a great place.

Terri Filipski

I had a procedure done on June 28 with the Intraventional Radiology unit. Prior to having it done however I was given a requisition form to have blood work drawn from the Alberta Precision Lab in the South Health Campus. On top of that req form was an orange piece of paper giving me priority (as the unit had to wait for the lab results prior to doing the procedure). The woman behind the counter at the lab ripped off that orange piece of paper, threw it in the trash, and made me wait for well over an hour to have blood work done. She completely disregarded the priority requested from Intraventional Radiology. Needless to say, this delayed my procedure and the unit was not happy. I expressed my complaint to the phlebotomist as well as the nurse who prepped me for my procedure. All I can hope is that the woman behind the counter was reprimanded for her lack of being competent. I just don't understand why people like this are in these positions!! Thankfully, as far as procedures go, I had a positive experience with the IR unit and am grateful for the nurses and the doctor.

E P

Great caring staff! I went to the urgent care and was seen by a doctor in less than an hour just like was promised on the waiting times screen.

Tracey Christianson

Worst emergency dept ever.

darren walsh

I’m there quite regularly lol. The staff is always friendly, they treat me like a person not a patient. I honestly wish I could give more stars because they deserve it. The Hospital is super clean. Thank you for everything you have done to help me feel better.

A hidden gem in the hospital. Nice equipment, rarely busy and cheaper membership than other YMCAs in the city. Parking is a little limited however, especially if you don't have a parking pass

Gurpreet Dhaliwal

Fast and easy. I was quickly take care by the team..

Saad Salman

Had been going to the gym since 2014 up until they closed it for the public. Have some of the best memories here meeting new members as well as the consistent exceptional service from staff.

Harold

Great gym and pool, friendly staff and pront service

Nathan Light

I'm happy with their services, I have 0 complaints towards the staffs that works there.

Marie-Hélène Dubois

I went there several times in the last few years and I am still impressed with the service. Nurses, doctors were very professional and nice. I am from Quebec and let me tell you that I consider my self very lucky to have an hospital that give a 5 stars service, we didn’t have that high quality service even when you paid a lot of money in private clinic. You’re public hospital is a lot lot better than most of the public hospitals in Quebec. I moved 2 years ago and I am still impressed. I went yesterday at the emergency because of fever, etc... couldn’t be better. Bravo for your work, it is impeccable at every stage.

Kimmy D

This place saved my life :) The team of doctors I had where amazing and the nurses are exceptional at their jobs too. The emergency room staff are awesome and a huge thank you to Dr. Wolf who found a problem I had that wasn't even part of why I ended up in the emergency...spent 8 days and got the best care I've ever had during a hospital stay...I've had stays at the 3 other hospitals here in Calgary and was less than impressed....SHC is excellent :)

Mitchell Dolman

Stitched my arm back together rather quickly, quite friendly and fast to get in, at least for me

Really appreciated when I had no clue where in the maze I needed to go, they had a volunteer walk me directly to where I needed to be.

I just needed a blanket. I was so cold. I asked and asked but no one gave me a blanket. I appreciate what the health care professionals have done during the pandemic but my nurse was so disconnected- she didn’t even treat me like a human. On the plus side, my doctor was full of heart.

Collin Merritt

Have been there twice in the past year. Both times have been seen in reasonable amounts of time. The staff are helpful, and the surgeon was excellent.

Ira Halpern

Amazing facility; very clean weight floor

Mark Paskal

I'm fresh off a two week stay and was impressed and overwhelmed with the amenities available to inpatients. There's a Tim Hortons, there just isn't a full-service Tim Hortons. The in the hospital cafeteria has pizza among other great food items that were very comforting to me during my stay. They should keep building them this way. I am told that just because this is the new hospital you should not assume that the emergency is any faster than the others. In fact the emergency is frequently at 100%capacity and unable to accommodate additional patients. You may be shipped to another hospital for treatment if this is the case. Use the hospital that is closest to your home and that way the load is more evenly amongst the available services.

Sarah Kennedy

The emergency staff here is amazing and very patient. The doctors, nurses and admitting staff are SO amazing, thank you for working as hard as you do. Thank you for taking such great care of me the other night.

satoshi 21

Ambulance driver i got was horrible treating me like a junkie he was rude.. And had no help even lift8ng me out...... Yet i am not on medication yet have a doctor... I have had amazing medical care here for the past 5 years! The facility is beautiful, the Doctors and Professionals I have had the pleasure of being involved with are top notch. From emergancy surgery, recovery, and rehabilitation I wouldn't have wanted to go anywhere else. This hospital and staff are top notch!!

god awful and i was emotionally scared. 0/10

I found the hospital, staff and MRI to be so much better than any other place in Calgary. As it's a newer machine, I felt far less claustrophobic than in other older machines. Clean, nice, new, state of the art equipment. Worth the longer drive. 10/10

Roel Aloquin

YMCA-SHC branch is a good gym to work out and a very friendly environment.

Thank you to the nurses and my doctor at South Health Campus last Sunday. So often we are quick to complain or write a poor review when we’re annoyed, but we don’t always take the time to show our appreciation or gratitude when there aren’t any complications. I suffered a bad dog bite on my hand & I was in pain & super upset. But I felt looked after from the moment I walked into Emergency. The triage nurse (was all business) but got me bandaged up & on Tylenol stat. I was admitted within 20 mins & seeing a doctor within 20-30 mins later. My nurse was so sweet & distracted me when they froze my cut. Dr. Moussadji was kind, thorough & personal. Tough to be I’m sure considering the department she works in. She thought my cut needed stitches b/c it was so deep, but only put in one because dog bites are prone to infection. Anyway, I’m almost healed up entirely, am off antibiotics & the stitch comes out tomorrow. Thank you to all of you who do what you do. It’s a hard job. I certainly couldn’t do it, but am grateful you all do. Thanks, Shelley Shields

Amy MacDonald

I went there around 11:30, and waited for 4-5 hours and never saw a doctor. I also didnt get my blood pressure checked, I was in a wheel chair and saw the room cycle through twice and my name was never called, all I got was some pain killers and some hot packs. I had to leave due to no care and went to another hospital. Not impressed with the service there and I'm sure that they could do better. A friend of mine went there with a partially collapsed lung and had to get a tube inserted by a untrained doctor in that procedure. The doctor failed twice before sending him to another hospital to get the procedure done correctly.

Mark Gommeringer

USELESS! Staff are incompetent and rude

Diane Litman

I never do reviews but I feel obliged to share what excellent care I received at South Health last month. I was induced to deliver on a Friday and after trying EVERYTHING baby ended up being delivered on Monday by csection. 71hrs later! What we went through could have made anyone snap, and I can honestly say it was the staff that got me through. EVERY SINGLE PERSON we encountered over the 3 days before baby and 2 days after (this is 10 *TEN* shifts of doctors, nurses and aides) were absolutely genuine, professional and committed to giving us the best care in spite of very difficult situation. They made me feel safe, and secure, and heard throughout a very long and tedious process of getting our baby into the world safely while making sure I was comfortable and prepared as possible with each step we took. Thank you, thank you, thank you SHC team!

Jim Abuid

Had are baby there. 5 star all the way. Privet room . With a extra bed and extra chairs. They clean up very fast. Very professional staff. No rushing to get out of the room. Will recommend to everyone to have your baby there.

Angel Biggs

The nurses, cleaning staff we're amazing! Transition team keep running into trouble but they fight for an acceptable solutions and always took the patient's wants into consideration. Which is something that is important with in delicate situations.

Blitz

First of all I've had my fair share of hospitals and even have waited over a 24 hour period before even seeing a doctor. But I brought myself here because another hospital here gave me nerve damage but surgeon I saw that I thought would help me said I only had 8 inches of nerve damage which in his opinion was not enough to operate, after leaving this appointment I was laughed at by the same doctor that had told me I would never regain full capicty of my hand when he saw me trying to do something with only one hand, he laughed right at me! I ended up yelling at him because I have to live with the damage caused by another hospital.

parth patel

Big spacious building. Nice staff and very nice navigating boards

Parisa Khorsand

I have had the worst experience there.I was there for my nine months old baby and after 5 to 6 hours waiting in ER just for antibiotic shot .they sent my baby to adult unit .so disappointing when nurses asked me about how to do their job as I am not a nurse or doctor.very rude nurses.if they dont have enough space or staff for baby and kids, they shouldn't admit them.so sorry for alberta health with this poor service .

Shelley Beyer

Calgary's new South Campus is a beautiful facility including Good Earth coffee shop, a lovely gift shop and the YMCA with the latest equipment. I have enjoyed being a member of the YMCA there and love frequenting the gift shop. I have been able to meet people needing services at the Health Campus for one reason or another. I offer rooms at an affordable rate that are comfortable and welcoming. If anyone is interested please visit airbnb online and look up "South Health Campus/Fish Crk Park" and you can view and/or book your stay if it suites your need. Shelley

Took a friend here as a last ditch effort to get him some relief from unbearable kidney pain. Took them hours to even care about how much pain he was in. Extremely disappointed with the staff and the ability to care for its patients..... may I add the entire waiting room had been empty upon our arrival to 5 hours in, still in the waiting room

Jon Irwin

Very big hospital with good amenities. I’d say this is the best hospital I have seen in Alberta.

Amanda Herter

I hate going to the doctor and the lady's here made me feel comfortable and I got in so fast. All in all was only there for 2 hours.

jarod birnie-browne

Horrible nursing staff, completely abusive to the elderly. I witnessed complete and utter abuse from a nurse to an elder woman. Just terrible bed side manner. Disgraceful staff.... Heartless robots working here. STAY AWAY!

Dwight Thies

Excellent facility- I attended general surgery yesterday and the hospital is excellent; well laid out underground parking, good signage inside and modern appointments make this a treat compared to the aging behemoth the Foothills hospital. Staff was cordial and pleasant and professional. My appointment was in General Surgery with Dr. Paul McBeth. He was very knowledgable and had excellent bedside manner and fielded any and all inquiries i had. Appointment was thorough but not excessively long I'd give this facility 5 stars, save for the fact that traffic to enter the facility particularly from the east can be a tad confusing to the uninitiated. Otherwise a great addition to the city's health care facilities

DaleK Turner

April 7-10 ‘21we had to stay in the hospital for my Mum’s long-awaited needed surgery and the care, consideration, kindness, knowledge, communication at this facility was beyond exceptional. As Mum’s DFSP I remained with her the entire time, following all COVID protocols and striving to be of assistance. It was definitely an atmosphere of collaboration and inclusion. Not once did I have to intervene for her safety as I had to when dealing with PHC. Thank you, from beginning to end the staff we interacted with showed they lived this ‘job’ as a vocation. Cheers mon ami, Dale-K Turner

Like this comment if you're in emerge waiting for a bed in a different unit and haven't smelt fresh air in 4 days let alone even looked out of a window. I'm just glad I'm at least able to walk from my 5 by 5 meter room to the bathroom, they fr don't let you go anywhere.

Honestly rethink your choice of hospital.

This is a modern, clean and beautifully designed building. There is a Good Earth cafe, a market with ample seating that has a Tim Horton's, breakfast and hot food area, and many cold foods to choose from. There are some booths for larger parties and lots of smaller tables. The Directories are "touch screen" but there area also volunteers dressed in red shirts that are able to help you find where you are going. I was impressed with how much comfortable seating was included in the design. The store "Comfort Corner" has almost anything you can think of (clothes, toiletries, home accents, novelties) and is truly a "convenience store"! Parking is in two outside lots or underground. It cost us $5.75 for our morning appointment parking in the spacious lot under the building. Keep your ticket with you and pay as you exit the facility.

Godmez VT (Godmez)

Not a terrible hospital. I really dig the care I get. The only problem is the distance. It's actually a great burden.

Carrie Zales

There are major issues with this emergency department. Today I was brought in by ambulance with major pain. Without getting into too much personal detail, ill say im waiting for surgery in September to resolve this health issue. I was brought in by EMS and waited with paramedics until a bed became available. Due to my condition paramedics were willing to stay with me and manage things until a bed became available. Within 1 hour a bed was available and paramedics left. The nurse took my bloodwork and gave me a warm blanket and stated that she needed to move me because they need the bed for someone else. The nurse moved me to the waiting room to sit and wait nearly 4 hours, which meant my medical care stopped during that time. No fluids and nothing given for the extreme pain I was in. This made no sense at all. No one even checked on me within that time. When I finally got another bed I questioned the nurse on why I was sent from a bed to the waiting room while in extreme pain and vomiting. I nearly passed out a few times while waiting. She told me that they wanted to cut the paramedics loose who were completely fine with staying with me to provide medical care while I waited for a bed. The nurse I had ended up being terrible at her job. I literally had to chase her down for everything. She went to get more meds and said she was coming right back but didn't return, after 1 hour I tracked her down for more medication. The attitude of this nurse was dismissive and really not compassionate at all. Whenever I questioned things she got very snappy and rude. I should have stayed home to comfortably suffer because going to this emergency department just made my situation worse today. Shameful to see how downhill care seems to be getting in this emergency department. I have a rotten experience almost every time I go there. I wish I could give 10 negative stars for my experience today they don't deserve the 1 star I had to give to write this review. This emergency department has to be the worse one in the city.

JarHead

Worst hospital in Calgary, went there with internal bleeding, the wait time said an hour and I ended up waiting 3 and a half hours and still didn't get any help so I left and didn't deal with my internal bleeding.

sully jenkins

The people here are cruel. The nurses just walked past my mother who was sobbing on the ground due to pain, pretending not to see. When we finally got the attention of one she made her get up and walk, due to the pain my mother quickly fell to the ground and I had to get up and catch her as the nurse stood there and the audacity to tell my mom to “use her feet”. It is the worth the drive to any hospital. This is the kind of place you would die in the waiting room. This is just one of many different experiences. Please please if you can go anywhere else, do it. Might save your life.

The entire staff in the pulmonary department is incredibly kind and professional. The building is modern and well maintained. Daryl from the pulmonary function testing department was exceptional and fantastic, making the whole process easy and stress-free.

Gave birth at the South Health Campus. The rooms are very comfy for the dad's, with their own full size bed in the corner as well as your own private shower and bathroom. The nurses as well who helped us were all so nice and helpful and very encouraging. The doctors as well were great and made us feel very comfortable.

Nancy Haddock

Excellent hospital and doctors and nurses. All the staff are amazing. Very short wait times and usually leave before my appointment time. Dr. Dodd in the Bone and Cast clinic is great!!

Absolutely garbage service. I went there after a motorcycle accident and 9 people were in the lineup behind me. They told me I had to wait for 3 hrs. Forget about the people that were waiting ahead of me, the 9 people behind me were all rushed in plus another 7 patients who walked in. When I complained to the staff, their response was it's not first come first serve but rather who is more sever and that my wait time now is 9 hrs instead of the 3 that I was told 4.5 hrs ago. Just because I'm not b*ching and crying doesn't mean I'm not hurting. Pretty sure half of the patients that were sitting around watching tiktoks and laughing were in any worse condition than me coming from a motorcycle accident.

Theresa Palmer

Beautiful hospital very clean. Everyone was very nice and very caring. If I ever need surgery again I'm hoping it's back at south health campus for sure .

Very modern sort wait time grate staff

My second time to have a day surgery here... And it is great. It's a very clean, beautiful and great hospital...but it's the people who work here are the most professional, freindly, and caring people that I have encountered. I thank all of them for what they do!

Lyndon Rees

A huge thank you to Dr McKaigney and all the hospital staff for their help and kindness on Saturday at 02.00 am with my very sore and stiff neck !

Waiting on slow night hours in waiting room to get in to emerg unit for minor procedure then once in spending so far 4 hrs waiting in a room without being seen.Nurses outside talking and ignoring all else guess no incentive feeding from public trough to work.

Been there once but need to go for mri on thr 17

Worst service. The nurse told us wait time is 1 to 2 hours. It took us way longer than that.

Nice staff. Clean equipment. Spacious gym. Parking is on the streer but free - you should be early. Lots of amenities but doesn't have a pool. You should visit here!

You never know what you've got till it's gone. This was hands down one of the best Ys in Calgary. Was it the biggest? No. Did it have the most equipment? No. But the staff was amazing, the other gym patrons were great, and the atmosphere in that gym was unmatched. Miss you SHC Y.

Robert Brinkhurst

Very convenient. Never too crowded. Friendly staff. Good equipment, has everything I need.

I really enjoyed my experience at the South health campus. The emerge staff was very nice polite, helpful and supportive. The CT scan lady (Chelsea ) was very professional, caring and supportive as well. She saw me being very nervous and calmed me down and gave a wet cloth to my neck so I feel better. The doctor and the surgeon ( dr Armani I think) and the anesthesiologist in the day surgery Did an excellent job and are very skilled in what they do and everyone at the short term stay unit both nurses and healthcare aides were very very professional, very caring and very positive. The health care aid with a British accent was very caring, very kind, very cheerful and nice lady, I was so happy to have her help after my surgery. I can definitely Say that this is the best hospital in Calgary and I highly recommend anyone to use their services. If you are in a short term Stay unit, and you are stuck there for one or two days as a patient, try blue popsicle, you will love it!

Brennan Letkeman

don't tell anyone else about the convenient gym that's cheaper than other YMCA's and pretty quiet during the day - I want to keep it that way. the parking situation isn't great, but it's close enough to walk / bike from the surrounding suburbs so I'm not sure why anyone is driving to the place to get on a treadmill anyway.

Manfred G

Had my appointment to check my Pacemaker, they are pretty quick, it takes more time to find a spot to park the car!

Khaella in Calgary

Check in at 2:00pm and it’s almost 9pm. They first said I was 4th at 5pm and then 7th at 8pm and then 10 people just passed me . Is this a joke? Go to a different emergency room.

Derrick Gannon

the hours are not good. who closes at 8:00 on a weekend? it's not even 8:30. it's 8:00. shake my head. plus the parking sucks

Absolutely amazing doctors and nurses! Very kind and compassionate and were able to figure out what was wrong very quickly. Best hospital in Calgary!

I waited 7 hours with convulsions and they let people who had colds go ahead of me. Really dissapointed in this place.

Cory Davidson

Been there twice this week. First one they forgot me in the waiting lobby for er issued code yellow because they couldnt find me. 3.5 hours waiting. I told them on more then one occasion I cant eat or drink and am severely dehydrated on top of why I originally when. Go told to take advil and if it worsens go to a doctor. Went in again 2 days later 5 hours I waited in the lobby after calling 811 from having side effects of new a medication and advised to go to er. Once I finally got in one hour before a nurse saw me. Examined what was happening and she proceeded to tell me that its impossible to have a reaction from one dose. After 7 hours I discharged my self and got told I'm next but it will still be a hour or 2. I still have o answers and am just as sick as when I went there the first time

Niklas Zerwes

Very new equipment. It does not get busy during peak hours. I never have to wait for equipment. Staff is friendly. I took one star off because of parking. It is not the best place to get free parking. The winter should be interestinf.

Anneliese Maylam Frazier

All the staff were amazing. The nurses took incredible care of me both pre and post Op. Caddy and the surgical team were accessible, informative and had incredible bedside manners. I felt so safe and supported and couldn’t have asked for better. Dr Caddy is incredible and I can’t say enough good about her.

Dan Gilson

Every time our family has required the help of South Health Campus it has been, if one can say about a health procedure, a pleasant experience. Thank You South Health !!

I had a cesearean section for baby 2 at this hospital in 2016. The surgery couldn’t have gone better but the after care was definitely lacking. The post delivery nurses were all very young (under 30) and the unit was completely empty except for me. While I was recovering I was never able to sleep as they would wake me up every hour to get my BP. They were just constantly bothering us with something so I never got to rest. There’s no nursery so no one can watch the baby overnight while you recover. There was no help with breastfeeding (maybe they just assumed I knew what to do because it was baby 2) and just overall lack of knowledge and experience dealing with newborns by the nursing staff. Felt very unsupported but was glad it wasn’t my first baby or I would have had a horrible time figuring things out on my own as they offered no breastfeeding support, never changed a diaper for me (even though I had serious surgery and was hard to get out of bed unsupported) and the pediatric Doctor was so rough with our newborn it made me really upset. He seemed rude and dismissive when I asked him if he had to be so rough on the baby. Never would recommend this place to deliver a baby. Nice facility and good caesarean doctors but poor after care!! So poor!

Lou Moreno

I came to emergency shaking cold in pain, ended up staying for a procedure Thank you to all the staff that took care of me Beautiful humans, extremely knowledgeable From the warm blanket that started making me feel better to all the rest of the professional care and the kind words of encouragement, it all made a difference to my recovery Forever grateful

The gym is not my favorite. The equipment is lacking and I struggle in my workouts to get in all my movements because of this. I am cancelling my membership.

The last time I ever went there I got told to try Cymbalta. I was actually bursting 3 cysts. I have had NOTHING but grief from E.R. physicians and 'specialists' failing to recognize a complex, URGENT patient. I recommend peeps stay away from this campus. They OD'd me in the hospital. But of course, dur to legalities, they have to call ut a syncope. If it had hapoened on the street it would have been called an OD. Reckless staff at that hospital. Reckless.

Ron Davis

3 1/2 weeks after surgery and still can't get paper work for EI from Dr Batuyong office and now won't even return my phone calls. So frustrated I have been off work for almost a month and been told my EI claim is rejected due to no paper work. I would give a 5 star to hospital and nurses I dealt with outside of the paper work issue and bone and joint clinic, but I can't afford to with no income now .

Purely for ER, do NOT recommend this place. I had stomach issues twice and pain levels rising to around 9 (wholly the reason why I went both times). The 1st time there was a bit better since they did more thorough tests but everything came back ok. I was vomiting at the same time but they decided to give me only oral anti-nausea pills & pain killers. I instantly threw those back up again. So essentially in pain all night there with no help. Sent back home with "may be too much acid". 2nd time took way longer to see a doctor. This time at least the nurse provided anti-nausea through IV to ease part of my problem. The issue the 2nd time is with the doctor. He legit informed me that I just have to go home and use "pain control" - provided info as to how much pain killers I could safely overdose on. I was exasperated with the outcome - spending 5 hours in extreme pain in an uncomfortable chair waiting only to be told to go home & take more pain killers, and could be a "viral thing." Would have given this place a 1-star, however the family doctor practice is decent.

Gale G Zhang

I would like to give this one negative if there is ever a negative rating offered. I have been there couple times and all of them were horrible. First time I went there was to acquire some information about my kid's injury. The nurse in Triage told me that there was nothing they can do about it, but I need to talk to a police officer personally. And all of the cops were busy at that time so she sent me to the mid-sun police service. So she told me that I HAVE to DIRVE THERE by MYSELF. We call that urgent care service. Second time was when I was involved in a car accident recently. I was there for 5 hours and the doctor told me that she didn't want to send me to take an X-ray because she didn't want me to wait for another 4 hours. I guess the reason is that I drove there by myself or I was not injured seriously enough. What a service! The most recent one just happened an hour ago. I went there to get a replacement copy of the vaccination records for my kids. I went to the health information management office and ask for help. The first thing the lady told me was that the person in charge was just left. Seriously? It was just 3:00pm. Well, I understood. Then I asked the lady in front that I need a copy of the records for my KIDS. She said I have to fill out the form. Then she gave me ONE copy and asked me to come back and drop it off another day. Then I asked couple questions, and it sounded like she didn't know the answers to any of my questions. The only answer from her was "maybe". Well, my point is: Why are you sitting there if you don't know your job. Before I left, she said: Have a good day! Well, I'm trying.

Andrew Jensen

Been to emergency here a couple of times. They say a 2 hour wait and you end up there for 7 hours or longer. Severely understaffed. The staff doesn’t care about helping you, there to scared they might get Covid so their humanity has left their very being. I mean really? If someone is in so much pain they are in a wheelchair and can’t walk you expect them to wheel themselves to the door. Come on people

I did have to go to the Emergency Department more than once to get properly diagnosed... but compared to any of the other Calgary ER's, this one is actually six (6) stars! Sure, there are some rude staff members and a few people that don't know what they are doing but again; this is the BEST hospital in this city! I live way up north but will drive the 30km every time. They also have the best Respirologist (Pulmonary) in the city, Dr. Dumoulin! In fact this is the best hospital to go to if you have any respiratory problems. There is plenty of free parking on the street but I use the pay-parking which is steep at almost $15 per visit. Still, this is the BEST hospital in this city...

I have had the unfortunate opportunity to experience many health care facilities. The South Health Campus however restored my faith in the medical staff. With the exception of parking fees, which I feel are nothing more than a cash cow seriously taking advantage of the ill and their families, and one nurse named Janice in the short stay Ward (she was nasty, and the complete opposite of all the other wonderful staff) this is by far the best health care I have ever received. The staff was very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive to my needs, and give the impression they are happy with their work. The facility is as close to feeling like home you can get in a hospital. I was very comfortable. What I found to be best of all was the fact that my husband was permitted to stay with me in my room after my surgery, which just added to my comfort and allowed me to be completely content and relaxed while I healed. in all other health care facilities, rent a cops removed (sometimes forcefully) my husband at the end of visiting hours. There was no compassion shown whatsoever. If it was possible to give more than 5 stars I would. Never change South Health Campus (except you have my support to lower your parking fees) No one likes to be injured or sick, but if I am.......I hope to be injured or sick in your facility.

If your Black or Indigenous...dont go here. For a place with so much money invested...this place runs like the 3rd world. And the nurses have no respect for an honest hard working Black father. I saw 1 nurse handle my baby in a manner I didn't enjoy. I know they are busy...but they could be more prompt in certain moments. They also kept us in for a lot longer than we should have in my humble opinion. And often times would come into the room to do a job...and the nurses asked each other if they wanted to inject a needle into the baby and none of them knew how. Why are there 5of you in the rroom in this pandemic when none of you can do what is needed. They also cast judgement on me as a father and partner because I wasnt happy with their efforts

Jayne

Unprofessional, complete lack of compassion and Empathy. If I could give zero stars I would. Out of the 6 staff we saw. ONLY one female nurse treated us with any respect. Our concerns we not addressed. In fact my partner was accused by 2 doctors of being on methamphetamines and said the symptoms she was showing of skabbies, we're simply Physcosis. It was all in here head. This was because she had markings on her face too. The only Doctor that came close to even looking at our sores, looked and touched only the one on my partners breast. Odd, don't you think? Our symptoms went completely over looked and for that we got worse because of the staff here at the South Calgary Hospital. We only went there because it was the long weekend and our doctor's office was closed. Once our family doctor was open again, we got a proper diagnosis and are now being treated. Funny it took him only minutes to look us over and see that it was absolutely what we thought all along.

Came into the emergency with difficulties breathing. Sat for over 3 hours struggling to breathe and not a single nurse or doctor checked in with me. Wait times also said 2 hours but I waited well over 4. I felt like none of the doctors or nurses even cared that I couldn't breathe

Jayson Kang

South Health Campus holds the spot for best hospital in Calgary, and this is surely for good reason! While remote, the space is beautifully situated near local shops, a library and a theater, and is highly maintained at that. The building itself is colourful and spacious with lounging and dining areas that lend itself well for on and offsite visits. For those reasons and many more, South Health nurtures and excels in providing an inviting atmosphere with numerous reasons to stay, establishing a home away from home that allows for peaceful visits whenever the time is required.

Tyrell Scott

Emergency is always a gong show and very busy. The facilities are top notch though.

Ivee Lam

I respect and appreciate all the hard work the nurses and doctors do at the South Health Campus. But my only concern is with the entrance team who would sit right in front of the door with the face mask boxes and multiple bottles of hand sanitizers playing on their phones, smiling and giggling at their messages or whatever but not knowing proper english.

This rating is for the emergency nurses. Seriously almost all of them and especially in the emergency intake. They are loud and obnoxious, they are too busy texting or talking to Siri on their telephone, about their diets, stampeding, gossip and God knows whatever else. The minute they get with patients (based on my experience) their talkative personalities disappear and they don't even warn you before poking a needle in you to draw blood. Never again will I go here. Management needs to change.

Lora Weir

I cannot say enough good things about how the staff in Emerg treated me today. Particularly Heather and Dr Fareen Z, my greatest expression of thanks and gratitude for listening and for taking the time to make me feel comfortable! It is difficult for all involved when a patient arrives in great pain, yet everyone that I met from the moment I walked through the emergency doors were kind, patient and informative. This hospital is like something out of a movie, we have had very serious reasons to be there on many occasions. I've spent hours and hours there. I've parked outside, inside, and all with ease and comfort with lots of space. First time mom, I was scheduled to deliver at Seton hospital. I had the best experience! EVERY SINGLE PERSON that works there is absolutely amazing and so so so kind and friendly, they really went above and beyond! I had a blonde nurse named Kim she helped me deliver my son and she was amazing she helped me do different positions during labour and giving birth and was very knowledgeable, she helped my learn to breastfeed and I’m so happy I delivered at this hospital! Highly recommend could go on about it but the staff here is just out of this world????

I've been part of this gym for more than 6 years. It's a hidden Gem. Not alot of people know about this gym. Parking is great, you have to provide a deposit of $25(I think) to get the parking pass. Overall the equipment and the gym is kept EXTREMELY clean which I'm a big fan of. Because it's a small gym everyone knows everyone. This Y also has a big climbing wall and a comunial kitchen with cameras, no clue why. This gym does not have a pool though however the Seton Y is walking distance from this gym.

Best place in Calgary to go when you have an injury

Everything is great except for the doctor in the emergency room. My mother got infection in her hand and left untreated after 4 hours of waiting in the ER. The doctor told her to go home and use Vaseline on her hand to cure it. If Vaseline could have cured her hand, I would not have taken her to this hospital. Such a huge waste of time and money.

Sam Mills

The worst health service I've ever experienced. They looked for the easy opition and weren't listening to me when I tried to explain the pain I was In. I was misdiagnosed and not formally discharged they told me where the door was and let me leave. I went to another hospital since the pain got worse and got a second opinion. I highly reccomend Rockyveiw hospital since they where extremely friendly and very thorough.

I don't believe in slandering medical staff on here, especially when I have had a mix of experiences at this hospital. The first two times, the experiences were great with kind people and no issues at all whatsoever. Today however, we had a meeting with a transition nurse and she was very rude and disrespectful. Her first words were "I'm advocating for the patient" without even a hello. She was very rude and not understanding in our scenario whatsoever. The experience I expected from the first couple visits was absolutely nothing like what we had expected. We are however grateful they were able to accommodate us due to mobility issues. Unfortunately, that did not make up for this horrible experience. At one point, the person sitting next to me tried to whisper to me so she didn't interrupt the talking nurse and the nurse flat out cut her off with "Ladies, can I join the conversation?" With a very rude tone. Not impressed.

On the evening of July 8, 2021, approximately 6:30 pm, I took my son to the Alberta South Health Campus Hospital Emergency. He was having suicidal thoughts and experiencing extreme anxiety. My son was the one who asked me to take him to a doctor, so he could get some medication to help with the thoughts he was having. His regular clinic doctor could not fit him in all week. FIVE (5) nursed greeted at the entrance to make sure we were sanitized, given a clean mask, answer questions and given a sticker. Triage would not let me go into emergency with him (there were only four 4 other people in the emergency waiting room). I explained to the nurse that he has some learning disabilities and that I am his advocate, however she dismissed me and said he’s 19 there’s nothing we can do. I was asked to leave the hospital, which is absolutely unacceptable. My son was left without an advocate to deal with this dysfunctional health system. The triage nurse told me it would be a minimum three 3 hours before he saw a doctor. I was extremely upset so I left the hospital to go visit a family member to talk to. I received a phone call from my son thirty (30) minutes later saying he was done. That he had seen a doctor for a few minutes and that said Dr. told him he would have to go see his family doctor to get medication. There was nothing they could do for him. I am still in shock. This is touted as a mental health facility and that is the reason I took him to this hospital. This hospital and many others are consumed with Covid and not addressing other more serious health care concerns. According to South Health Campus Hospital’s social media, it is all about helping people with mental health issues, lol. Obviously, they are NOT concerned at all. They dismissed a 19-year-old at his breaking point asking for immediate help with his depression. The fact that they did not let me in to advocate for my son, proves that they do not have the patient’s best interest in mind. I have been paying into this health care system my entire life, yet when my child needs help – you turn your back on him. I am appalled and disgraced at the shameful treatment my son and I have received from this facility. You do not deserve another dime of funding from taxpayers because you focus on your employees, not your patients.

Hiren Soni

Still under construction, but a prime location. Hopefully I will use it more.

Debbie “Sweet Calgary Girl”

I was there last night the staff and doctor were nice. Got there at 10:30 PM didn't see a doctor till 1:30 AM got released at 3:30 AM. My only complaint is that it took 2 nurses to poke me 4 times to get IV in and take blood.

Sabrinna Belanger

Used this facility a few times. First it was where my sister gave birth to my nephew and our experiences there (her as the mother, I as her support), the staff were helpful and kind and very informative. It's a great place to give birth. Very clean and well organized. Secondly my son's burns were treated at this hospital and they were unbelievably kind with him. He was only just a year old at the time and he was beyond traumatized. The nurses kept him comfortable and happy. My latest experience was due to a hiking accident which led me to severely sprain my ankle and fracture my foot. I got in very quickly and got seen very fast. The only downfall for me was when the need came for me to be seen by a specialist. Then I waited and waited and waited because the doctor was so busy. I didn't even get a room to be in, I just stayed in the waiting room forever until finally a doctor came who didn't introduce himself and who barely did any examinations. He looked confused when looking at the chart. Then it was a back and fourth about whether or not surgery was needed. After a couple hours of deliberating they decided I needed nothing...not even an air cast and sent me on me way. My family doctor isn't pleased with this and Now I am in an air cast on the road to recovery. Overall great hospital but always good to get a second opinion I guess!

Adam Grayton

Poor service. Made to feel like a burden. Woman on the phone not interested in being helpful. Would rather drive out of my way to the Rockyview.

Marianne Huyer

Started off here just before 6 PM . When I arrived counting there were 3 ppl in waiting area...the nurse in triage wasn't even listening seemed more concerned about letting everyone know she was going on break ...and who was covering her. Took my info tells me my bp is really high...tells me to sit . Admitting calls me puts bracelet on me and left to sit ...as I sat I was watching ppl that walked in , go ahead of me hours later . The waiting time said 2 hrs. ...after watching 3 ppl that arrived hours after me going in the rooms to see dr!! I asked the nurse station what happened , they reassured me I was 3 more ppl , and I'm in . The nurse came and got me after 4 hrs , only to be moved to another chair in a hallway, sat there for another 2 hrs until finally I spoke up. Nurse took blood , what's going on . No one seemed to know why I was there etc... so after sitting there with excruciating pain from my abdomen ( at first there was concern with nurse an intestinal blockage) without medication, a nurse so much as checking on me even would have helped , I ended up leaving after 6 hrs , only getting bloodwork , this was horrible horrible experience , I'm surprised at only good reviews here !!. I ended up having to go somewhere else , not a single nurse batted an eye ...I get long wait times , but when you completely get forgotten about that's not cool with me .

Rebecca Reid

Ive had 2 horrible experiences at this emergency department. One was for severe abdominal pain. O didnt mind that i waited 2.5 hours, i understand this is a risk when going to emerg. But my doctor was extremely dismissive immediately, telling me from the get go i most likely wouldnt get any answers that night. She gave me a 30 second abdominal exam and then confirmed to me i should be prepared to not get an answer and that this happens all the time. She tried to tell me it was normal that people live with severe abdominal pain without knowing why for a long time and that i should basically get used to my frustration. She told me she would still order an ultrasound just to be sure. This was at about 730. At 950 after sitting in a crammed waiting room where i was shoulder to shoulder with other sick people she approached me letting me know they would not be able to do an ultrasound. She said this happens sometimes when requests are put in after 9 pm. I wonder how long it took her to remember i was waiting considering she assessed me at 7pm. Still in extreme abdominal pain, still having my only option be taking t3s (going on a month and a half- which they are aware of). My other experience was with the mental health emerg. Ill keep it short but after presenting suicidal they took all of my belongings and sat me in a room by myself for 3 hours before assessing me. This is probably the very worst thing they could have done. I have never wanted to end my life more than those 3 hours. Once they came back in i was so upset and literally hated those 4 walls that i lied that i was doing fine and went home. That night was the closest i ever came to a suicide attempt as i had everything ready until i was interrupted by a loved ones call thankfully. Worst emerg experiences i have ever had. These doctors need better bedside manner and compassion. Ill never be coming back and i will be telling everyone i know.

Clean, new, state-of-the-art facilities. Staff are efficient and mindful. Not too crowded in the general hospital area. It has one of the best versions of Good Earth in the city. The hospital premises also houses the YMCA until the actual Y building is built in a year or so...

Great job by staff, they are very friendly and keep it spotless!

One of the newest Hospital in Calgary. Very cleaned and neat here. They are street parking around to campus. They have friendly stuff here and they are here to help you. If you need to go to the hospital this is the one I would go.

Every time I go into this hospital (ER) they are quick as can be, and really have good quality doctors that know what they are doing. I drive from out of town just to come to this specific hospital! Wait times are rarely what they say and I am just pleased at the level of care each patient gets.

The food is also better than most hospitals I’ve been to as well. Everything is so clean and modern as well - you just feel like you’re in good hands there :)

Eden Parks

This place needs to get more organized! My terribly sick mom has been waiting in emergency for 3 long days!

My stay at this hospital was a horrible experience. The staff was rude & enjoyed harassing the patients. U could not get out of there fast enough. One staff member looked up my home phone number then proceeded to call me at home. Her behaviour was unacceptablet & she should lose her job for rwading patietnts

vivek vats

Worst ever hospital. Rude nurse spent 6 hours and no treatment. I highly not recommend anyone going there. Wastage of our tax money. If anyone from government seing that message please take serious action against it.

Bryan Swanson

Drive from airdrie to have my soccer injury examined. Friendly staff, fast service, and great experience overall. Clean and highly recommend over other hospitals in Calgary ????????

I have been going to this hospital for my pregnancy check ups. The hospital itself is very clean, easy to get around, signs everywhere or staff that can help you out. The nurses I have dealt with so far are pretty good, some of them are better. They are willing to answer your questions and educate you while others not so much. The doctors I’ve dealt with are pretty good, the only complaint is that I had to get a swab done for a test and the doctor said patients do this???? Since when do patients do their own swabs? To begin with I am 8 months pregnant, how am I suppose to reach down there and swab two areas and hope that I did it right??? They are the doctors that is their job. If this is what they are taught now maybe we should be putting more money into health care to teach our doctors and nurses on what to do... we as patients don’t know what to do, we didn’t go to school for this. I had my baby at this hospital and I have to say for the most part it was a great experience, the beds are awful when your in pain but the rooms are so much better. They deliver your baby in the same room your staying in so it’s a private room. I want to say thanks to all the wonderful staff that was so nice and made my experience a lot easier. Dr Watson was amazing, he was so kind and made me feel comfortable while I deliver my baby. Nurse Amy was the best nurse, her voice is calming and she helped me with everything!!! She took very good care of me. Also nurse Brook, Shayla, Keidy were amazing with me super nice. There was only one complaint and it was dealing with a nurse that was very condescending and rude.. especially since this is my first time breast feeding she had no time to have patients she expected me to know everything etc... but I guess not everyone can be amazing. It’s just that being in a maternity ward with mothers that are overwhelmed all nurses should be trained on bedside manner.

Admitted through emergency. Very friendly, personable, and knowledgeable staff. Actually took the time to listen to all of my symptoms and history, and asked me really solid questions. Fast admittal and discharge, considering my symptoms. Really made me feel looked after, confident, and hopeful. Thank you so much to the doctors, nurses, medical students, and staff. I'll definitely be coming here for any emergencies in the future.

MPG Gar

I was admitted for a kidney stome issue and was brought in by EMS. To my dismay i waited for 6 hours before i was seen by a doctor. From the start i was tellig them not to give me Tramadol as i have adverse reaction to it. Finally when i was discharge at 5 am after 6 hours of waiting and i was still so weak, when i went now to Shoppers to buy my meficine given by Dr Cameron John McGillivray ? What do you know? It was Tramadol as said by the parmacist in Shoppers!! What the heck!! Also doctor said if ever i felt pain again I should rush to Rocky View hospital and not to the. Seriously??? Maybe you should care a little more to your patients.. and the nurse who attended to me last night she was so grumpy and was in a so bad trip.mood tgat she was even mad administering my IV and doing it in such a rush i told her the IV hurts but she doesnt care!! These people should not learn how to be more caring to their patients!!

Aly Afifi

Thank you guys. I appreciate it, most of you friendly and I really feel like I am at home. Every thing in time.

Neil Bryann

The worst in scheduling patient for medical treatment my brother needed to wait more than a day to be attended and I thought health care in Canada is one of the best in the world. Its just so bad.

Justine Thomas

Place is a joke, nurses are awful and the wait for a doctor is ridiculous. I didn't even want to place a star on this review.

kyla carswell

It's a nice campus and facility. Feels welcoming and clean... you can tell it's new. The intake staff was great and took us back to the Mental Health Ward immediately. I went there because I was suicidal and struggling with manic episodes. My parents called Access Mental Health and they raved on how amazing South Health Campus was for Mental Health and to take me here... rather than the Foothills like I wanted. We got there before 11pm, we didn't see an actual doctor until about 1am. Then we didn't see the psych until 2am. Then I was discharged at 3am, rather than being kept as intake. I still don't feel as though I was heard. They gave me a prescription for mood stabilizers that I told them I was allergic to, and on top of that, the doctor didn't even put my information on the prescription so the pharmacy refused to take it. So all things considered, what an absolute waste of 5 hours of my time. I am more than likely going to have to go back to the hospital for my Suicidal thoughts soon, but I can promise you it won't be this one. This has been a never ending battle with my mental health and I was finally hopeful I was going to be listened to and get the help I need. If you're struggling, please go to Foothills or PLC.

Gail Grant

Very friendly

These people don't care about their patients at all

Luke McKenna

Considering all these doctors and nurses have to put up with on a daily basis, they are incredibly nice and patient. I have the utmost respect for everyone that works here, all members of the staff included. It's a clean, well built, well designed hospital in a great location (though I don't have to take transit). They're very well equipped as well which makes the stay all that more comfortable.

Brandon Smyth

Zee Ali

I would recommend South health campus over any hospital in the city for you don't get results anywhere else, 14 year migraine as told by the PLC at southcenter they actually figured out it was a sinus infection they do the work! That is all!

Tesfalem Woldeab

It is very clean hospital

Omkar Apte

Good gym if you don't like crowded gyms. Staff are also really nice.

Frank Cabor

My wife and I had the pleasure of delivering our first child at this hospital. Let me tell you, from the moment we entered to moment we left - all the staff were excellent at providing a warm, relaxing atmosphere during the beautiful birthing experience. If you have the chance to go here, please do not hesitate. The private rooms are exactly what the Family Ordered (yes, that's not a misprint - private rooms for expecting families!). Thanks again to all the staff at South Health for the amazing experience.

Chad Brandt (ChadAction)

Kids pool was nice but not lots play toys

Triage protocols are the best in the city and emergency has lower wait times. The hospital is new and has all the technology that any patient could need. I spent nearly a month on the stroke unit after a trip to emergency and the care was second to none. Great hospital!

Lisa Stevens

Very friendly staff and very clean! It was empty in Emergency! Wow

Briana Hamilton

Very clean very professional. Helped me out a lot ♥️♥️

MIL (a non-verbal alzAlzheimepatiebt) went in for infection, they didn't feed her, used a lift that aggravated a previous injury. They kept her bed ridden, pumped her full of unecessary medication that left her stoned and unresponsive. Staff wouldn't listen to prime care-giver on the dos and don'ts of food delivery and any other helpful information to assusa in the patient care. In fact the Dr. was so unable to listen to the prime care-giver he fired her from overseeing her care! Upon that event all support from nursing staff and supportive services practically stopped. Care-giver was told to bring in his own food to feed the patient!!

cilla vanveghel

My dad was unit 58 corona, they helpt so kind full. I am living in the Netherlands and they take very good care off my dad but also for me. My dad passed away 3 month ago and accompany in his deathbed. Greatfull for nurses ( Beth) and socialworker (Melissa) thank you with alle heart. So many friendly faces. I as alone there

Had an MRI here. Excellent experience. Wendy was very calming and answered all my questions. Made sure I was comfortable and at ease making the whole experience much more pleasant.

Kevin Walker (Kevin Walker Photography)

Very nice & Moser. Much cleaner than some Y's. (For now) lacks some facilities.

Jake Harms

I am not accustomed to posting reviews but I did want to say this hospital is the best in YYC. Most likely because how modern this facility is too. The nurses were great with my wife and took care of us as she has fragile health conditions. Thankyou to the great staff here and all you do for our city.

Dave Cunnington

Gym is pretty good but can get crazy busy so not treadmills are available.

Laura Bezemer

Have received outstanding and compassionate care at SCH. Doctors and nurses made me feel like I mattered and were genuinely concerned.

Leah B

A well organized hospital. It is pretty easy to get parking in the two hours free areas.

Chris Rockwell

Pretty far from me but have dealt with some nice people while my arm has been broken.

I was very disappointed by how my interest in volunteering at this YMCA was ignored by Samantha (I think she was the indoor climbing wall supervisor). Last spring, I decided to volunteer at this gym because I was off from school and this YMCA is very close to my house. I gave a copy of my resume and YMCA volunteering application to Samantha. Samantha asked me to get a background check done with the Calgary Police, which I did soon after. I received the report from CPS which indicated no criminal record, and I gave it someone at the help desk. I emailed Samantha on the same day to tell her that I dropped off the report. I received no reply from her. Then, I sent two follow-up emails to her after a while but I still did not hear back. I waited all spring and summer until school started (I'm a graduate student) to hear back about my application but I was very disappointed that not only my emails were ignored, but my time was also wasted in filling out the application form and getting the police check done. The best hospital I have been in and/or visited. Highly trained and efficient staff all around. The odd grumpy or arrogant person you may or may not bump into are like that everywhere they go. May they heal their souls one way or another. Don’t be grumpy just cause you have to wait sometimes more than others. Welcome to the real world of today. It’s all good,

Brian Stollery

Do people realize this Rate and review is for the YMCA? NOT the South Health Campus Hospital?

New modern hospital. Short wait time for the most part. Seemed backed up by people with the flu. Perhaps they could read the signs that emergency is for emergencies not the flu. Happy there is finally a hospital in the south end of the city, transit is still an issue though with only one reliable bus running to it. Came back again, totally different. Vomit all over the front area of the hospital. Sitting areas outside are uninhabitable as there is puke everywhere and staff seem unwilling to clean it up.

J Nicole

Good modern facilities.

Clare Alfred Giegold

I spend a lot of time in hospitals for various reasons but this is the most efficient in the city the fastest and has some of the nicest people that you'll ever meet in the hospital

Claire LeBlanc

The facilities are beautiful and the layout is fantastic. I'm glad my surgery was done here

K E

Hmmm, attention!!! Yeah, I want ur attention as in critical sit. Ur to be sure count in the care u will b provided within a matter of let’s say 30 min drive to any other 24 hour hospitals!!!! Hence it’s called campus! Uneducated. Indifferent staff. Not even associated ethically obligated Proffecionals. Everything there needs some schooling in human care. Lol from staff to directors. So Rocky View does EC followed to MRI. Here is opposite MRI straight to Emerg. So go Hospital anywhere is better!!!-)) Sending love ur way in whatever u dealing w ! All gonna b just peachEee ????

Matthew Gall

Felt well cared for here.

Rob Craig

My experience here was awesome 50 stitches great staff and the doctor that stitched me up was amazing

Mark Bryan Lozano

Worst hospital ever. Waiting time showing when we arrived is 3 hours but we stayed upto 9 hours without anything happen. No doctor or nurse helping or asking if you need help, unless you asked for, they seems like they dont care anout their patients, we understand that they prioritize the worst condition patient but we are patient too.

Olesya Kharenko

great facility, nice selection of machines, running track, stretching area. everything is nicely organized. very nice and clean facility. the customer service is always friendly and nice. it is never super busy in the evenings. parking sometimes can be an issue but you can get a parking permit. some machines are always broken

Farrukh Suvankulov

This review applies to their ER. South Health Campus is a good facility but it is significantly understaffed compared to other AHS locations of similar size. Wait times at the ER tend to be very lengthy here. Nurses/doctors rarery (if any) check on patients in wait rooms.

Larry Villaverde

Clean, quick & followed appointment time

Curtis Shmigelsky

Kudos to the staff at the Rapid Access Unit (RAU). Amazing quality of service. Nurses and support staff always willing to ensure the patient is comfortable and relaxed. Doctors will work hard and use resources to solve the patients' medical problems. The efficiency that team runs at is a model for other departments. The only gripe I have was the long wait time in emergency, but once I was able to see a nurse, the process to diagnose you and give you a path forward was quick.

陆阳

My wife went to the emergency department for three times this week as her nose bleeding. Very bad impression for this department on whole process to my wife's treatment. The doctor was arrogant and impatient. After taking the medicine which prescribed by the doctor, my wife feels very very uncomfortable, she has to lie on bed untill now.

T Lee

Avoid the ER at all cost if you enjoy waiting for 3 - 4 hours or more...

Shelly Scott

Maternity ward was exceptional. Modern, private rooms, friendly nurses/doctors.

Jen fer

Quality of mental health care is immaculate. Very impressed with patient care and the staff in charge of managing often difficult situations. It's very reassuring to see staff that care about their patients who are knowledgeable and down to earth. Safety is always a high priority and it really shows. These people are likely the best in Calgary when it comes to ensuring a successful recovery for anyone with mental health issues.

Marc MacLean

I just spent 2 weeks in the SHC. The stay and care was second to none. The best I have experienced in Canada. I am a retired soldier and have visited many hospitals acrossthe country. This was the best experience I've had. All the porters, housekeepers, food services, health care aides, nurses, and doctors were exceptional. My stay was in ward 68. I had major abdominal surgery. A big shout out to ward 68. My surgeon and his team were the best. The hospital is spotless and very comfortable. Thanks SHC my stay was more than comfortable.

Gary Hogan

I have been a patient here for 9 day now the week days have been ok, but the weekend and nights have been the worse I have ever had , the nurse and HCA , are very rood , do not want to help pat ients ,or a least help me ,I have COPD last stage ,, I have been in the hospital 6 times this year all 4 hospital and this one I would prefer not to return too , 2 people in a single room , dirty washroom when I complain , staff just walks away ,can not get the food that ii have ordered , I do not use dairy product as it builds up mucus in my lungs , I have told them ,filled out menu still get dairy ,one male nurse did not want to get me a tank of oxygen to walk around with , I was using too much .I can go on but right now this is getting me upset and giving me a hard time to breath , Please please check on the staff , this is life or death we are talking about . I too upset to keep going , it been like this all weekend .. Thank you , please try to help other patients

Carter Tutt

Absolutely the worst medical service I have ever received anywhere. Left this hospital to go to another one. Was not given assistance when my IV ripped out and blood pouring from my hand. I was not formally discharged and was told "There's the exit." when I complained and optioned to leave. Absolutely avoid this place.

Rachel Hallson

Doesn't ever seem to be communication or even ability to understand online medical charts

STAY AWAY! This hospital is responsible for the passing of my 20 year old son. They gave him a very strong opioid medication, for his PE. He also was currently taking benzodiazepines. When these medications are prescribed and taken together, they lower vital life functions in your respiratory system. After my son was released from this hospital in March 2019; 5 days later I found my precious son already passed away in his bedroom. I called 911 and did CPR; however it was too late :( This should have never happened and I'm in the process of taking legal action against this hospital, to hold them responsible for their actions and malpractice. WATCH what you are taking; it could save your life or someone that you love!

Daniel Ramirez

Modern and very nice place. The staff is kind and willing to serve others. They lead me to the place a was looking for my appointment.

Kirsten K

The best hospital in the city! I had both my boys here and the staff is incredibly friendly! It's also a beautiful building

David Gascho

On March 24, 2021 my wife needed emergency care for a surgery incision that had opened and had not been addressed by the surgical team in a timely manner. The care and concern of the emergency physician Dr. C Rebus was of the utmost help. His written advice to her surgical team requesting an appointment in 24 hours was instrumental in her getting the treatment needed. Again we thank and appreciate Dr. Rebus for his help.

Aly W

I wish I could give 0 stars. This is NOT the hospital to go to, especially for their mental health department. I was sent to the hospital for a rapid mental health assessment. I had given them all completely honest answers. They infringed on their own policy of confidentiality and told my mom everything I said. I also had shared some touchy information that resulted in a panic because it "broke the law" they said. My mother who has an anxiety disorder was having a melt down, not being violent, she was just yelling. They called security on her, which resulted in her emotions escalating. THEY were suppose to HELP bring you down when you are stressed or in crisis. The incident was not illegal. They had falsified information (I asked a police officer to check before hand as well.) Not to mention, I was in the hospital for 8 hours only for confusion, frustration, incorrect information, and just honest to goodness terrible service. This experience was very traumatic for me and my entire family that was present.

This is a review for the Lab. The wait time was quite fast, I waited only 10 mins. When I entered the room the nurse was really not friendly. I told her on my right arm they always have a hard time so she may want to try my left. She didn’t even listen and went for the right. She put it in so fast, it was really painful. On my drive home I felt pain I’ve never had after a blood test before. After I removed the bandage an hour later the entire vein was swollen. I was worried I had a clot and called Health link, which they told me I was likely internally bleeding and to ice it. I have a huge bruise the next day. To top it off, I received a call from Calgary Lab Services the next day, telling me I had to come in today, as there was something wrong with my sample yesterday. I have to go for blood tests every 3 months, and not once have I ever experienced this. I would not recommend going to their lab. This also happened to my friend, and her bruise was even bigger.

Wendy Ryan

This clinic has the worst wait times. You have to be dying before you won’t wait less than 3 hours.

After a horrific experience in Emergency at Rockyview (The worst!!!) - I was sent to see a specialist Dr. Justin Lui to check out my situation. After experiencing the most unprofessional and brutal staff at Rockyview, Dr. Lui and the nurse assisting him Melissa, were a total breath of fresh air. He was knowledgable - He had done his research on my condition. He was respectful, he was professional - He put me at total ease with his demeanour and his knowledge, what a total class act!!! From start to finish, this hospital gave me the most comfortable, positive, just overall wonderful experience when I was dealing with a scary and rare situation. On top of that, this hospital, though it may be far for us people in the NW, it is gorgeous ... easy to find your way through it, great parking, great coffee shops and totally worth the drive!

Andrea Kali

I couldn't have had a better healthcare experience than I did at South Health Campus Diagnostic Imaging.Staff were great. The MRI Technician were wonderful, caring, gentle with the needle.I can not say enough nice things about my visit there last night.Keep up the good work!

scary ugarte

Great nurses they treat you well and with respect. Great work

Frank Lured

Awful emergency department. Rude staff and unnecessarily high wait times. Was seated by the nurse desk, and got to listen to drs/nurses gab about their weekend plans and political issues. I understand conversations in passing, but not 30 minutes at a time when patients such as myself haven't been seen. Waited there for 3 hours before being seen for 5 minutes and sent on my way. I STILL have the issue I went in for. Horrible experience, would not recommend.

ROB MCKENZIE

I would like to thx all the doctors and nurses and staff from 76 and 68.A big thx to wound care for make me laugh each time redress my wound . I spend 63 day in south.campus.Big thx to all thx staff.

Best hospital and maternity unit staff.

Firstly, I do not believe in writing negative reviews on medical “professionals” simply because there are many variables or “excuses” that can be made on their behalf and some people just don’t mesh well with everyone. My judgmental mistreatment happened yesterday morning in Emergency. I know in writing this, they possibly could know which patient it I am. I have a common cold, no common symptoms of Covid, however, I developed a toothache which I determined to be caused by sinus pressure except the toothache became increasingly severe to the point it was affecting my cheek bone/ear/jaw/all the way down to my collar bone. The pain was excruciating, I could not lay down or even have my face in a downward position to look at something on the floor, hence why I hadn’t slept for 2 nights. Preface, I have a high pain tolerance and an example of this is; when I had my son, I “walked” into the labour and delivery unit assuming I was 4-5cm dilated but to find out I was 7cm dilated and immediately after my c-section, all I used was extra strength Tylenol for pain. During the day, I called my doctors office and my doctor was not in and then I contacted my dental office who couldn’t see me due to my cold but called in antibiotics and a anti inflammatory to my pharmacy. I completely understood their apprehension on seeing me so I decided to just tough it out and wait for the antibiotics to start working. Late that night, the pain became increasingly unbearable so I called 811, to have some direction on what to do. The nurse went through the assessment and determined that if it didn’t get any better by 2-4am, to go to Emergency. 3am came (which now had been 3 nights of no sleep) and I couldn’t handle it. I went to EMERG and at that point, I could barely walk because every step I took made the pain worse. The nurse who took me back asked me if I was ok and I said “no”, then he proceeded to ask me if I had taken any drugs or if I had drank any alcohol. I said “what? What are you talking about” he said “you aren’t walking properly” and I said “every step I take hurts and I have not drank in over 7 years and I have not done drugs in decades”. That’s the point when the doctor “assumed” I was looking for drugs, EVEN though I never asked for any and I know that once pain medicine wears off, the pain is still there. I wanted help in FIXING, the issue. Pull the tooth, drain the infection, do something. The doctor asked me if I would like her to freeze it and I said ok, however, I explained I don’t take freezing too well as I generally need a lot of freezing in order for it to work. She froze it, but by the time they discharged me, it was all out, I was back at square one. Side note, they didn’t give me anything either. So I left and got home, I called my dental office and I broke down. I was sobbing hysterically and the amazing woman took charge and called the dentist in and I was FINALLY assessed by a real professional. After having an X-ray, it proved that my whole tooth was abscessed, the root, nerve, gum, everything and my dentist confirmed the severity of the pain I was in. Ontop of that, my dentist explained that due to me being on antibiotics, she was hesitant on pulling my tooth because being on amoxicillin, it weakens the freezing medication effect. Another words, it makes freezing the area challenging and the freezing doesn’t last as long. Wow, so when the ER doctor indirectly acted as if I was lying or crazy when I told her the freezing came out and she claimed it lasts for 12 hours, I guess I would suggest to re-educate yourself and instead of judging/assuming someone is a certain way, remember doctors are suppose to be unbiased and maybe LISTEN to the patient in a non-judging manner. To the ER doctor and that nurse, thank you for assuming and judging me in thinking I had a substance abuse problem. I personally think you both need to go back to school and re-educate yourselves on what being a medical professional is all about.

Hans Kiefaber

The most friendly staff I have ever met. Great experience with the Cardiovascular Diagnostics Department.

Cory Chevelday

The staff were amazing!

I had worst experience. I waited fit 6hrs and left without seeing any doctor. for 2 hrs check in kept saying you are the first one to see but they keep on sending others in. finally decided to leave

Nathan Humphreys

Absolutely horrible experience. The doctors treated my Mother, took 4 days and dozens of tests to figure out what was wrong. The surgeons knew what was wrong, said they could get her in the next day, but the medical doctors made her wait an additional day, ran all of the tests over again, and came to the same conclusion. They fluid loaded her to the point where she developed pulmonary edema and could barely breathe and needed to be put on oxygen. I tried to get in contact with one of her doctors and they told me that there were no doctors in the building to talk to. She had dozens of doctors, and you're telling me that NONE of them are in the hospital? Absolutely terrible service from the doctors, and staff that have no knowledge whatsoever. Waste of time and an insult to our city. Will never go there again.

Ang Hawks

My experience here was not at all what I expected. I was met with kindness And caring people. Always making sure that I was comfortable. And also reminding me if I needed anything to just ask. Thanks so much for your being so kind and understanding. It really helped me ???????????????? Blessings to you All ????

The men and women at the rapid response unit on the 6th floor were so incredibley accomodating and caring for my family and I. I cannot express the amount of gratitude i have for the nurses and support staff there. They were understanding and caring to my grandma who was too fragile to be transferred to a hospice. They ensured she passed with dignity and comfort. I wish i got a chance to thank each of you personally. And i hope you see this review and know just how great you all are.

Chris Fox

We have been to the South Campus a number of times - right from when it first opened. Most recently in July when I came for a pre op visit. It entailed seeing a number of different people. I am amazed at how kind and helpful everyone was - and I mean ALL the people who work there. One is always a bit stressed and smiles and help is gratefully received - especially from the cleaner near the coffee shop!

Came in for wife’s scans and no one knew what scans had to be done first. Then waited for over an hour and they didn’t even know the scans were happening and this is after they called to change her appointment to accommodate someone else Been told just a bit longer like three times now. Very unorganized and disfunctional. Now a third person has joined the group to try and figure out what is going on If I could rate this a zero I would

This is a review of the "Child and Adolescent Addiction and Mental Health Services - Outpatient Services" program which is currently located in this hospital on the fifth floor. My teenage daughter had ongoing struggles with severe depression and anxiety, was self-harming, and had dropped out of school. The CAAMHP program offers individual and family counselling services with a psychologist or social worker, and also runs groups to support care-givers and separate groups for teens. I worked really hard to convince my daughter to go. Due to her depression and anxiety, she didn't believe it would help, and refused to go. So as a parent, I had to work really hard to convince her that it would help make her better. After several weeks of persuading, she finally agreed to start the program by meeting with a counselor one on one. We were very relieved and hopeful that she would finally get the help she needs. What a disaster this turned out to be! They promise a maximum of eight individual sessions. The attitude of the staff is that they are dishing out bars of gold. If you need to reschedule, or want an additional session, they use patronizing authoritarian language like "we'll allow it just this once." The inflated sense of the value of the individual counseling sessions is deeply ironic because, in our experience, the sessions were not only of dubious utility, they were counterproductive. At the very least, we wanted our daughter to be open to therapy as she enters adulthood. Her experience in this program convinced her that she is completely alone and that psychologists are incompetent and unhelpful--exactly the opposite of what we wished to accomplish! Among the problems: 1. Therapists would cancel appointments without notice! Not great if you have to drive an hour or more from another quadrant of the city. On one occasion, our entire family set out from the NW at 7:00am on a Saturday to make a family counselling session at 8:30am. We received a call informing us that the therapist had to cancel as we drove into the parking lot! 2. Therapist did not review my daughter's file prior to meeting her for her sessions. For instance, my daughter was very anxious about not being in school, and had already started with a therapist. But at one point, the therapist asked her "how is school going?" He couldn't even bother to familiarize himself with even the most basic facts in her file. To my daughter, this convinced her he really didn't care! Is it reasonable to suppose that he did? 3. On another occasion, the therapist cancelled without notice. When we arrived at the front desk, as they told us of the cancellation another therapist overheard the conversation and said "I'd like to have a brief discussion with you just to get an idea of how things are going." I said sure. She asked us basic questions like "how many sessions have you attended?" (Not really therapy.) After this brief 20 minute meeting, I went to the front desk and asked to reschedule the session. They told me I couldn't because the brief 20 minute meeting counted as a therapy session! Unbelievable! There are some really great people in this department who really want to help young people. But the overall impression we left with was that this is largely a self-interested bureaucracy whose focus is tracking time spent in sessions, not on results.

Amazing staff! I have never felt more like a hospital has ever cared about me like they do at South Health Campus! I came from a city where the ER staff treated everyone like a burden... but at South Health Campus every part of the nursing staff cared about my health and well being. I never want to go anywhere else! Thank you South Health Campus!

David I

Unlike other gyms, this one is quiet, even during peak business hours. I rarely have to wait for a squat rack or bench when performing my workouts. The staff is friendly.

July 20, we encountered this ER NURSE PAMELA, was the second nurse that attended my sister as they are having hard time getting into her veins, the previous nurse was not successful and already poked twice in the other arm, ER NURSE PAMELA, came and started poking her in the other arm, my sister advised the nurse that the arm she was trying to poke was the one they poked and vein somehow burst or something, and PAMELA with unfriendly manner told my sister that, my sister can choice where ever she prefer but she (NURSE PAMELA) can poke her anywhere she wants to, WORST is SHE NEVER FINISHED THE PROCEDURE and left her.

Nice hospital

Great experiance on my last visit. Very friendly fast service.. crazy hearing on the media hospitals are so full and backloged as it was absolutly dead hardly anyone in the emerg or that i noticed well walking past the icu to my appointment.

Rebecca Silvester

I can't say enough great things about this hospital ...my dad was taken in by ambulance had his stay in unit 66 until he was to sick and moved to ICU. The nurses and all...yes I said all of his doctors called and kept me informed every step of his journey, were kind and caring and did absolutely everything possible to make him comfortable until it was time to say goodbye to him. I can't thank you enough...you are truly great people

Mat Corns

An absolutely beautiful hospital!!! I was taken here after my appendix burst and the staff at this hospital were an absolute delight to be with during my week stay! The hospital itself is beautifully designed, huge rooms, newest machines and technology, was built with expansion in mind as they can add 3 floors to the entire hospital in the future! This is how it should be done at every hospital! It may be in the deep south of Calgary but if you had the choice of which Calgary hospital to go to, you'd be crazy to choose any other hospital than South Health Campus! As someone whose been in a dozen hospitals, trust me when I say its amazing!

I wanna give them zero if google allow me very disappointing...

Very modern, neat and friendly team of nurses .majority of the the nurses in the Short Stay unit, are really out to care for the patients. I must mention the selflessness of Kavitha and Chantelle.

My sister Belinda Morrison was a patient at this excellent facility after breaking her hip. I can not say enough about the doctor, the surgeon Dr. Hunt, the nursing staff especially Tony, Gerard the Surgery Pharmacist, physiotherapists Michelle and Kayla plus the support staff. Everyone worked as a team and they included me, which I very much appreciated. I had the privilege of witnessing Team Work at it's finest. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

An absolute abomination is what I would describe this place. Most of the nurses were rude and negligent... inconsiderate of how I felt, at best!!! One of the nurses told me that she treated me different due to my race ( *black) , even found spit on my toast when I asked by said nurse. Doctors did not investigate into treatment, but jumped to conclusions about me and the diagnosis ; ruling out all other possibilities . At one point said nurse got very belligerent to the point of physical assault in which I pushed back( out of self defense) . As aforementioned, most of them were quite invalidating but also manipulative and tried to gaslight me ! They had the nerve to call my family " CRAZY " for standing up to their nonsense and simply existing !!! I believe in human rights which is why I would recommend that you do not visit this mess as well as directing you literally anywhere else!!!!

thinley phunkhang

Very well built and design for patients and excellent service

Shannon Blaschuk

Went to this hospital at one point as I had heard such good things and they had a low wait time. However the experience I had was terrible. The doctor I got treated me like absolute garbage, tried to call me a drug addict when I did not ask for any medication. He said he wasn't going to help me and for severe stomach pain and pelvic pain that was also in my back, he tried to say it was constipation. Found out later that I have endometriosis and it definitely was not constipation. Doctors in this province want to get paid more, and while the odd ones deserve it, when you get doctors like this guy I had it makes you think they don't deserve it. More often than not i have negative experiences with doctors and hospitals. The odd few are good but most are jaded and could care less about actually helping you.

Jordan P.

I had same-day surgery in late Oct. First of all, i'd like to say i felt very welcomed since i stepped at the door to to reception desk upstair. Everyone was very friendly, helpful and kind. Dr. James Kennedy, Dr. Hill, the nurses named Elenie, Sally, Conney, Spencer, Lindsay and other involved persons ( i am sorry i don't remember all the names) Thank you so much for all your hard work and support during this difficult time. Your humility, kindness and strength are greatly appreciated!!!

So clean..people so friendly and willing to direct you and you do need directions. Is It ever high.

Regulations/ By-laws and Rules of South Campus Hospital need to be rechecked and revised and Alberta Authorities and need to control this hospital with more care, to make them comply with requirements of appropriate patients treatment and receive them properly. Today Jan.03 2015 me and my wife , suffering a severe flu (having vomiting, harsh coughing for about 10 days) arrived at south campus hospital at 12:00 PM waited for 3 hours , not being called while about 30 patients were admitted, checked by nurse/doctors. Hospital board, when we arrived, showed only 1 hour estimated waiting time, but Just about everybody else coming to reception were admitted , most not showing any apparent symptoms of emergency cases and a few immediately just after arriving and filling out the papers. When we asked why we are not being called, the response was same old statement (excuse) , i.e., “ it is not on first come first served basis” which obviously after living in Canada for so many years and going to clinics/hospitals so many times, we could fully understand it, however it was pretty clear to us that they did not care about us, so much as they did about others (for any reason). Imagine having 2 small kids waiting for you at home, and you are being treated so unfair, encountering prejudice behaviour of hospital staff, not even polite in responding your questions, and actually offered us to leave the hospital if not happy ! To get rid of us simply they said you can sign a paper and leave the hospital, which was exactly what we did, not able to endure anymore.

speedo whisperer

Please rethink your decision to have your baby at this hospital...despite all it's(private rooms and a bed for dad) appeal. They are understaffed and over worked. They will not take the time to care for you like other hospitals will. I've had a baby at every hospital in Calgary....Rocky view being by far my best experience.

Nathalia Díaz Gómez

Absolutely amazing!! Went through urgent care, admitted to the hospital and surgery afterwards and all what I can say is THANK YOU! For providing care and compassionate service to every single patient, feeling the love and working non-stop and still getting patients at ease and always with a smile...Dr Bouchard, Dr Arminan and the female surgeon, Dr Wong the anestesiologist and Nurses and health care aide, Johanna, Yanina, Cecille, Margaret, Kaila, Michelle and all the ones that I dont remember... YOU ROCK!!! From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING CARE OF ALL OF US! ????????????

Serge Laflamme

Thank you to the very talented Dr French and his professional friendly staff for operating and fixing my ACL knee injury I'm on the road to recovery can't wait to get back to work!!

John Jones

I went in to emergency and was impressed with the staff and the process that was used while I was there. I also watched the other people having problems being dealt with and didn't hear any complaining. Overall my experience was great and the heated parking was a bonus in the -29 night.

JANE BLACKWELL

I have been through emergency and been admitted. The staff are knowledgeable caring and as quick as possible. They handle everyone's care with the same amount of detail and concern.

Poonam Randhawa

I can not say enough good things about the labor and delivery department at South Health. I wish I could leave some feedback for Management. Our L&D Nurse Kait was an absolute super star and extremely knowledgeable and reassuring. Our post-partum Nurse Jeena also a rockstar we wanted to take her home with the Baby. We live far into the North side of the City and still delivered our first baby at South Health and I'm so glad I did. All of the Maternity Doctors at South Health were extremely professional and caring. If I have another baby would definitely choose this hospital again.

Linda Jay

Niki Plenert

The maternity unit is outstanding. I could not be happier with the nurse and doctors who made me feel like I was am important patient to them. The two nurse that stood out from everyone were Collett and Melissa. Thank you so much for what you do. There was another nurse that made a huge difference. I was rushed in for an emergency c section and I was alone. The nurse never left my side for a second. She stood in place of my loved ones when they couldn't be there. I don't want to have more babies but if I did. I would 100% be going back to this hospitals maternity unit. Thank you so much for making my stay memorable in so many ways.

fanny pack

Thank you to all the nurses, doctors and staff here. Am so grateful to each of you for continuing to provide care during this challenging time. Was in emergency last week, even though everyone was busy, I still received excellent care from all staff I had contact with. THANK YOU! You are so appreciated!

Joe Baldes

New facilities tend to be better as a matter of course, but the staff here seem to be happier since we get better service overall. They encourage family to be present almost everywhere and let us help our loved ones under care which is a win-win across the board. The other Calgary hospitals see us as a negative and mostly discourage this with the excuse that there is not enough room, but that is just an excuse. If given a choice, I always go to the south health campus.

Tiff B

Extremely rude staff. If you've been to a different hospital and your symptoms have progressed and you need to go back. They will basically treat you as an office decoration and not even look at you. Wait time was two hours. Was there until 3 a.m last person waiting and they took every single person in before me after that. I was sick with nausea, headaches, shortness of breath extreme chest pain, coughing until I was gasping for air and having double vision. But a person with wisdom tooth pain was sicker than I was?? They never did call me and I had to go home and hope nothing serious was wrong. The hospital itself is clean and nice but the staff need a tuning on mannerism and respect. Don't ever go to an admitting with Leila, she'll roll her eyes and basically tell you off if you try to speak with her.

peter johnston

At my Doctor's request I needed an emergency ultra sound to clarify presence of a blood clot in my leg. EFW was closing for the day when the request was made so I was sent to the Emergency at South Health Campus from Airdrie at 4:00PM..... Rush hour. I traveled 45 minutes to the "State of the Art Hospital". When I arrived I was directed to Diagnostic Imaging. I was informed my Doctor had not followed the proper procedures and would need to get further direction from his office. I was then sent back to Emergency to talk to someone for admittance. I waited to see a grumpy Triage nurse who upon seeing the Doctors requisition threw the form back at me and told me EFW should be doing it. She told me to go sit in the waiting area and wait. I did not know why. The same nurse asked my wife to stand on a mat that said "Wait Here" until my name was called. Another Triage nurse called me in and started the procedures to admit me.? Then I went to Admitting and went through their procedures. I was then taken to the waiting area. Here in the general area was a man puking and regurgitating. People were huddled waiting to see someone? I waited for 1 hour without seeing anyone except for the Puking man and a waiting area full of misinformed people. So I asked for my requisition back so I could leave. I was told I would have to see the Triage nurse to get it back!!! I took my fancy bracelet off and left it with the Volunteer at the front and left. My Parking for this misadventure cost $11.25. So the moral of the story is.... I would rather die at home than have to wait For a very inefficient System to deal with a simple urgent request!

Grewal Grewal

Waiting time is high

Great staff and everyone is really friendly

Tanis Crooks

I drop in here for a day pass since I am out of town and when I came in today at 1 pm (January 15) ‘Carol’, older lady with white hair, greeted me with a dirty look. I asked for a drop in pass, she didn’t even respond, just typed me in, was very short and rude with me. I can now see why people have been cancelling and going to Good Life fitness instead. Which is what I I’ll be doing from now on and will suggest to other people in the area. APPALLING RUDE customer service! Wow!!!

Baljinder Singh

I have been here dozens of time and it is clean and nice facility no challenges. Only issue is no street parking usually available.

monstamack07

Complete trash hospital. Worst experience ever. We walk in with a screaming child sicker then hell. First thing I see is a patient being thrown out the door by 4 sercurity guards wearing a T-shirt and shorts in the middle of winter. Then once he came back in and started pleading for a sweater they instantly slammed him to ground hand cuffed him then made him wait outside freezing cold until the police arrived. Now I look at the waiting time and it says 1 hour and 30 minute wait. 4 hours later we still haven’t been called even though my child is screaming still. Then the guy who got there 2 hours before us got got called. His child was just as bad as mine. He was furious because they called him in after the 4 hour wait then made him wait an addditional 2 hours and still hadn’t seen a doctor. Every question we had about the doctors and what was taking so long they lied and just kept stringing us along. The disgusting part was my 2 year puked everywhere 30 minutes after we arrived. When I tried to clean it up they told i was not allowed and to wait for a proper cleaner to come. Guess what? 3.5 hours later still no one cleaned it up and the entire waiting room smelled revolting. So I finally got fed up and left called 811 and they were more helpful then the hospital itself. Everyone I talked to in that waiting room was agreeing they will never go back to that hospital and I don’t blame them. I wish I could do more then just write a bad review because my experience tonight is unforgettable and defiantly unforgivable. If anyone can give me advice on more I can do to make my voice heard please comment. I will go to every social media account I have. I still can’t even believe what happened tonight. People were walking out left right and centre. There is way more to the story but I think at this point I just want to sleep

Brandon Nelson

Don't expect them to be convenient for you, the hours are awful, closing at 8 on weekends and 10 on weekdays. Not convenient for people who are in school and have part time jobs. Parking is impossible unless you want to pay or park a mile away.Definitely would not recommend going here!!

Emma Harrison

Love this place and my kids do too. But always a little on the busy side for my taste.

Randy Oleksy

A good faculty to take care. Of your health and much more

Jennifer Bargetzi

You should maybe talk to your nurses to keep their comments to themselves. Some of the people sitting in your waiting rooms can hear what you are talking about.... like assuming why people are there... how about just do your job!! ????

Haider Obaidi

I can think of nothing good about this place. 80 years old man with severe pain had to wait in ER for 7hr. And doctor didn't show up. Every houre I asked them and they said the same answer; there are four people infront of you. The nurses were laughing loudly as they are partying not serving patients in the hospital.

Prestan Austin DMello

John Forbes

Best hospital bar none.

Percy MacGillivra

Friendly staff and lot's of service's. But way to big and the corridors are to wide and a waste of space. Parking inside and out need to be improved upon. Poor set up. And feel like am in a maze trying to find ways in and out.

Simon Topetto

Amazing place and great service

Dwayne Hauck

Super efficient at getting people through the vaccination clinic

Leah Bailey

I'd like to say a huge thank you to all of the nurses, doctors, paramedics, and anyone else in Emergency and ICU that helped me during my stay here last week. I had a very severe anaphylactic reaction and it was a very scary time for myself and my family. I sincerely appreciate the compassion and care that they showed to me and I'd strongly recommend this hospital in the future. I sincerely thank you all again for everything.

Judi Price

Myself and my husband have both attended South Health Campus for medical procedures and appointments. The staff have always been courteous and understanding. The wait tines have been minimal or acceptable and I have not encountered rude or offensive staff. I have another appointment in February and although, like most people, I am not excited about having a medical appointment, I am not dreading the experience. I would far sooner attend South Health than some of the other facilities in Calgary.

Ricky Lee

Great facility, super helpful staff. The only downside is it could be a little busy during weekend.

Cynthia Stretch

Delivered my baby here and it was wonderful. Everyone was very attentive and respectful. Great experience and great facility.

Excellent physicians and gorgeous rooms but the hands on care is absolutely horrible. 99% of the nurses state they are burnt out and whatever you do, don’t ever question the nurses about anything. They get very defensive and their backs go up against the wall immediately. I have spent a couple weeks here so trust me. I have never seen anything like this in my life. Me and others are almost scared for our lives. I would highly recommend Rockyview or PLC or FH for quality nursing care. There are a couple decent nurses around but be very careful who you question anything about. I like to be informed about my care and know what’s happening. If you are the same as me, stay away from here. I’m discharging myself right away.

This hospital is the nicest one I've ever been to. The staff is really friendly and the hospital is very clean and new. They have a teaching family medical clinic that is accepting patients if you are not picky about seeing the same doctor every time. This hospital also has a YMCA, although I have never used it.

Brendan E

Not too busy. Clean facilities

Barb Purdy

Maternity unit was amazing. Had such a great experience. Everyone I came into contact with provided me and baby with exceptional quality of care. Thank you to the nurses, doctors, medical residents, lab assistants and all other staff.

eric ornelas

Excepcional care from the enitre staff at the maternity unit, thank you very much, Tía thank you for taking care of my wife and my baby , you made us feel as were staying in a 5 star suite. Please share this recognition with her she goes above and beyond!!

derreia oneil

Broke all four of my fingers seen a nurse 3 hours later still didn't see a doctor. If you're in extreme pain wouldn't recommend this hospital to anyone.

Adam Jones

Since hospitals are not usually a place people WANT to go I wasn't really thinking about posting a review. But after going in yesterday afternoon with severe abdominal pain and being diagnosed with appendicitis and having an appendectomy the same day, I have to share that the people there were amazing! Everybody was so kind and friendly despite all of the stress they must be under due to COVID and so many other changes to our World this year. My Nurses and Doctors were all so positive and you could tell they genuinely loved helping others feel better. Not just the way they helped me but the way they helped all the other patience and had a good sense of humour was refreshing given the challenges of 2020. My wife also gave birth to 2 of our children there and the experience was far and away better than with our first at Rockyview. Our family has unfortunately spent a lot of time in hospitals over the years and have had some less than pleasant experiences, but the staff are what makes all the difference. We have had experiences with great people at other hospitals too, but somehow the morale and comradarie just seems to be much higher at SHC. Thank you all for the excellent care! And for all you do for our community. Especially in these challenging medical times.

Buster Schuster

My mother had a knee joint replacement surgery and was admitted for 4 days there. She was very well looked after. The whole staff was extremely helpful and courteous to us and she was very well looked after. The hospital is clean, organized and well-equipped.

Dal McCloy

Great facility. We'll run, clean, good equipment etc. Hats off to the staff and volunteers.

Ateeq Bashiruddin

Pros: Clean, not super busy, towels Cons: Water machine sometimes gives warm water..

Alex Bourassa-Young

I have never felt comfortable in a hospital. I felt at home here. The labour and delivery unit was astounding, the level of care and skill when delivering our baby was amazing. Thank you.

Kristi Hines

Excellent hospital. Short wait times, professional and friendly staff. Every person we met from reception, triage, registration, RN’s & ER doc were great. Understanding and compassionate. Makes the experience of having a sick child so much easier. I would highly recommend this top-notch facility.

Linda Pura

I was treated in the Emergency Dept on the evening of Dec12/18. It was a stressful time and I couldn't have asked for a better hospital experience. The staff were not only professional and efficient, they were kind, considerate, and compassionate which was very much appreciated.

Very Expensive place to eat at the Market Cafe.. decided to try this chicken lunch special .. it came with a scoop of mash potato.. for $9.00 and it felt like a can soup from Campbell.\ the wife went to save on food.. order half rack of ribs with two sides (grilled vegetable and honey rings) for $8.00... so everyone.. because this cafe will suck ur money right out of ur pocket.. and dot get be started with parking fees... $16.00 all day.. lordy lordy.. ! big money making parking services...

Konstantin Ignatov

I like YMCA, you can find there friendly staff and all kind of sport amenities.

N J

Staff are good but parking is expensive. I hope you consider that some of us have to take time off work without pay to attend an appointment here and then have to spend more money to park.

Leonie Doucet

Staff are syper friendly and helpful. If you have to be sick this is the place to be.

Darlene phalen

Thank you to the emergency staff. Very professional and courteous. First visit but definitely won't be the last.

Kristy Leavitt

I visited the Emergency Department here twice in a few months ago and had really positive experiences. The triage spaces are private (so you don't feel like other patients or staff are overhearing your conversation with the triage nurse), staff was friendly and professional, and I felt well taken care of here. Yes, there was a long wait to be seen by a doctor, but that's the case at ALL emergency departments. As a side note, this facility is absolutely beautiful! Definitely the nicest hospital I've ever set foot in.

Connor Schenkey

Wonderful facility with caring staff.

Sean Strangways

Having been robbed before I even made it to a room was a very sour experience for me, as I lost a brand new stainless steel thermos on the way from emergency to diagnostic imaging. The injury that led to my hospital visit was only vaguely glanced at, and another major concern ignored completely. On the second day I was given a nicotine inhaler, which I was not given a single cartridge for by the end of the fifth day. Every staff member that entered my room asked about a cough I never had for days. The bed was too hot, the shower too cold. On the fourth day I found myself on my hands and knees on the granite bathroom floor cleaning because I could not remove the oversized mobility chair from the top of the toilet..I could not sleep at night, which went unaddressed. I mentioned my cracking dry skin and was told I would get skin cream, which I have yet to receive. Patients who do not drink coffee or tea are not offered alternative refreshments. And my initial injury, which I believe to be the cause of all my problems was also never addressed. I feel as though I was used to document a treatment or program, or possibly to test a new drug or regimen. In the end, I will be released partially better, with no answers, no preventative measures, and very little sleep. When the doctor finally told me I might be released, he said he just needed to check with cardiology and he would get right back to me. That was noon, and I have heard nothing. The food is excellent, the staff is fantastic (save a few), and the accommodations bar none. I hope your visit is better than mine has been.

Jason J

I was getting my first baby here and the Nurses and doctors are amazing, treat you like the family, always patients and Professional, feel all the tax you paid you get return from here.

Saad Salman

Had been going to the gym since 2014 up until they closed it for the public. Have some of the best memories here meeting new members as well as the consistent exceptional service from staff.

Katie Elizabeth

An amazing hospital. Have been for a number of things and the treatment has always been outstanding. Most recently at the emergency room. Got seen to straight away and the triage staff, nurses and Dr's were so efficient and had great beside manner.

Jay Z

Delivery team and NICU team are amazing.

Markus Seiler

I have spent 5 and a half hours in the waiting room with frostbite, and all they have done is give me a warm bedsheet. Last time I will ever come here, the place is a joke and I'm about to walk out with nowhere to go

I recently spent 2 nights here after an ankle break that required surgery. Absolutely everyone that I encountered was so wonderful, From the emergency department, nurses, doctors, technicians, porters, and helpers, no request from me was too big or small. Having gone through a similar event a couple years ago, I had something to compare it to. State of the art equipment and procedures made a big difference in my pain levels. I was given options and full explanations this time. Staff worked together instead of contradicting one another. kudos to everyone at SHC.

Inna Sarkisova

I called this morning at 9 am to Seton YMCA to find out what time their morning yoga class starts and who the teacher is as I was looking for the specific teacher. The Seton location app does not show any info on their drop in classes that's why I called. The receptionist was very umfriendly and told me that I should be looking on the website. I told her that the website does not show who the teacher is and I'm looking for a certain teacher. Then she told me she doesn't know and she doesn't have time to look for the sheet and she just got here. She gave me attitude and after I repeated that their app doesn't show this info and I as a member would like to know this info, she put me on hold, came back in 30 seconds (thats how long it actually took her to look at it instead of arguing with me), told me what time the class was and who was teaching it and hung up on me. I've been going to Shawnessy YMCA for about 3 years and they have the friendliest and the most polite staff ever! However I'll think twice before renewing my membership if Seton location has this unfriendly staff!

The emergency is a joke. Take the time and drive to rockyview or oilfield hospital or okotokes emerg. They treat you like numbered cattle. I was bleeding ALOT had blood clots in my lungs and on blood thinners. I sat in chairs like a support group with people coughing and hurling around me. I went to the bathroom fell over from light headedness. Now enters the nurse for my IV...I told her I was on blood thinners...she proceded anyway WITHOUT gloves on!!!! Blood everywhere! Looked like a murder scene. Leaves me there???? next nurse comes in appauled and orders a clean up. This was just one of three er trips that were all just as disturbing. Rockyview is still the best place in town...trust me I know. ????????????

I've taken my wife here on several occasions; very bad asthma, concussion, and most recently her miscarriage. There are a number of things a hospital can't change e.g. waiting time, doctor shortage, and process that they need to follow, but everybody that I've encountered at this hospital did everything they could to help my wife. Doctors are thorough and thoughtful, nurses are understanding and caring, and the support staff are helpful. I like to specificity thank a few people at unit 76; Nurse Mary, Donna, and Dr. Hubner, and counsellor Jennifer. We appreciate the professional service, emotional support and understanding that was provided.

Christine Smith

Broke my ankle at the weekend from Paramedics to Surgeon the process was seem less and professional. In the ER the staff were very friendly and put me at my ease. In the short stay unit nothing was too much trouble even though they were understaffed. Cannot praise the South Health Campus enough. Thanks.

I’ve been in every hospital in Calgary for a multitude of reasons for the last forty five years and this hospital makes the rest look like second rate. Everything from the plentiful heated underground parking to the sensible layout and navigation, to the efficient systems they utilize to keep a highly functional machine that gets you back to your daily life in the shortest possible time. A model that other big city hospitals would be wise to follow.

Lauren S

Unit 56 was terrible. Most of the staff will talk down to you. My roommate hurt me and they didn't take it seriously. Someone else cried and was locked in High Observation. I still have trauma from what was supposed to be a safe place. I will not tolerate being put here again.

Erika Brammer

My husband has been there for over 2 weeks, and he is getting excellent treatment. The doctors and nurses, nurses aids, and the rest of the staff are very dedicated professionals. I havenothing but praise for everyone there.

Maggie Pie

I was yelled at by the Dr.

Jevans Eck

I went there after I thought I had broken my collarbone falling down the stairs. I was trying to be funny when I jumped down the stairs, so my friend videoed it. When I arrived at the South Health Campus waiting room, the clock said that the average wait time was an hour and a half, but within a few minutes they triaged me and told me that the I would be called soon. I was in no rush, so I sat down and got my book out. Within 20 minutes they called me though, and I was taken to a private room. The nurse and doctor were extremely nice, and they interviewed me and said I should get an X-Ray. I got a nice comfy rolling bed to wait on, and then I was taken to the X-Ray station. The woman working there was super nice, and the X-Ray only took 10 minutes. Overall I was fine, but the service I received was exemplary and so was the campus.

Love this place! Very clean and friendly staff.

Nice bright and new hospital

Pit B

Well, all I can say is RUN. We only had bad experience in this hospital. The ER department is just horrible. Waiting time is a pain. Nurses are rude, have no proper training; they don't even follow AHS safety procedure, just disgusting. Shame on the billions $ spent to have it built. Nothing gets disinfected after each use; they use the same BP cuff and thermometer on every patient. My family and I won't be going back. My 12 month old son was put thru unnecessary procedures just to leave with no answers. The list can go on. They need a wake up call.

Luca K

Very good experience. The staff and doctors are very polite.

Graham

The wait times here are horrendous, every time I have came for an actual emergency wait times are well into the 3-4hr range, very unprofessional for the taxes that I pay. Big recommendation would be if the wait times will continue to be this long, please invest in better comfort chairs, that way we can all sleep in comfort instead of feeling like waiting in the chairs in the IKEA cafeteria ( no offense IKEA)

A great facility. Doctors, nurses and staff were the best. Very clean facility and Unit 66 staff are the most professional and thorough.

I visited this hospital a few days ago and I have to say I had the best experience I have ever had at a hospital the nurses were amazing everyone of them they treated me so well made sure I was comfortable informed me even when I was in such pain Theymake sure I was comfortable they were so lovely the doctors were amazing they took care of me quickly with respect and kindness found out the problem and helped me through it I appreciate them from the bottom of my heart thank you to all of the nurses and doctors who took care of me I wish you all the best and thank you

Can't say I was impressed with my ER visit tonight. Wait time indicated one hour fifty minutes 3 hours later I was called to another waiting room where I waited another 2 hours to see doctor. 4 people a head of me 8 behind me all taken before me and I actually watched as they were treated a released. When I finally got into a room to see a docter the floor was smeared in blood the sheets were blood spattered a clean sheet was just placed over the soiled bed. Discusting Well I finally left after 7 hours referred to my family docter for more testing.. and got no relief from the symtems I went In with. Thanks for the care guys but you have a long way to go..

I call this hospital my home away from home. I've had three emergent surgeries here since 2019 and I've always had a good experience with staff despite being so sick and needing to be there. Just had my daughter there 3 weeks ago and the private rooms are perfect for privacy and peace and quiet. We had great doctors and nurses too!

Great medical staff. Pathetic food situation. Somebody who signed the contract on the crappy cafe being the only one allowed needs to be fired ! Garbage crap gas station food ! Why can't you order a proper meal that they make fresh for you instead of bacteria laden food sitting there for hours if not days. Barf !

Asim Ayub

Because if you need medical attention ,this hospital is the best with the doctors nurses and they are not extra ordinary busy ,so you have a good chance to see the doctor quickly and get treatment pretty quick plus the staff is very organized, well trained.

Wow. This place is unreal. Not only is the hospital really nice, but these staff are out of this world. I am so shocked. My mother has spent a couple days in the hospital, hospitals are not a good place for her, she unfortunately suffers PTSD from an incident in the foothills. Between her being in emergency, and in unit 66 every single staff member has been so kind to her. My mother's words were "I just keep waiting for someone rotten but they don't come". So impressed. YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING ♥️

Rob Perry

Staff was awesome extremely helpful and very easy to deal with

First time ever in emergency, I am usually healthy. Naturally I am scared and wondering what is happening to my body. Nurses put me in a room for hours with no explanation as to what is going to happen or what to expect. I understand the wait but to be put in a room with zero guidance was a terrible feeling.

My mother a 92 year old heart patient who also suffers from Dementia was brought to South Health Campus Energency past Friday. The Emergency dept staff were outstanding; kind, patient and so respectful Thank you all including the Xray and CT ladies for loving what you do ! Farideh Morrison

I had a great experience once admitted to emergency (two separate visits), however getting trough triage nurse is another story. At one time a triage nurse was carrying on, joking and having lengthy conversation with a patient and her parents and making us all wait (she was with that patient for 25 minutes!) and after that she took off for a break. The triage stage should be a quick assessment of seriousness of patient condition not a chat station.

New and modern hospital with impressive climbing wall at the YMCA

Have been here MANY times!! Always received great care! Prompt and courteous care.. Staff were EXCELLENT! People just have to remember this ISNT a hotel!

The lab is a joke they will just waist your time

Seriously worst hospital I have EVER SEEN!!! Staff are so lazy, ER is run so poorly, no one literally cares in this hospital to work. They say it's a teaching hospital, what are they teaching?...laziness, let people die! How at 5 pm walking thru the hospital on any floor you can't find a nurse, dr. anyone?!! When you finally find someone and ask, they say it's a weekend! This is a 9-5 hospital, 5 days a week...beware!!!!

(Translated) I was hospitalized for three days. I received extraordinary assistance from doctors and nurses. An avant-garde health facility. (Original) Sono stato ricoverato per tre giorni. Today, February 25, 2015, at 8 am, I had such a great experience with the ladies at the laboratory, specially with a blond lady that I did not ask her name. She was really kind and always smiling.

My baby was born in this hospital, so horrible experience here! The nurse is not professional , 3times they had to pierce needles into my hands to try and draw blood and insert the IV. I waited two hours for the epidural, but the Anesthesiologist did not come until my baby was born! The nurse ask us to go home at 2am at night! less than 20 hours after delivery! Because they have no space for new clients! They did not done the blood test for the baby!

Anton Matveyuk

The admission process into the emergency room was quick and painless which I did appreciate. However, after waiting for a doctor for an hour I got a 5-minute assessment of my condition. It was noted as not urgent and I was recommended Advil/Tylenol and to go see a physiotherapist. The fact I could not sleep properly in 3 nights or stand up without being in pain they would not bother an X-ray/Ultrasound, or at least a second look. I spent a few hours here and as a result came out with similar information as Google can provide me. Maybe my scenario was different than a life-threatening situation, but missing work and being unable to sleep can create problems as well. I have been here before as a visitor and seemed like better service in the patient care system, but I would not recommend coming here.

Hands down the most helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and caring staff. I went into the emergency room in agonizing, crippling sciatic pain. I was releived from a good portion of the pain, was given an MRI and referred to a local spine clinic to further follow up. Within 16 hours of my release from the emergency room I received a followup call from the emergency room doctor, Dr. K. She called to ask how I was feeling and what level of pain I am in, reassuring me that if my symptoms continued to get worse, there's someone to there to help me. For the first time in weeks I have had a restful, confident and reassured sleep. Thank you Dr. K, Nurse D and the staff at South Campus! You are ALL hero's!

C C

Would be nice if they can have a swimming pool

Jana Swain

I went in to get help for pain. They did absolutely nothing. What shocked me was when I went to my doctor a week later, he pulled up my file and they had written down symptoms that I had not experienced, in a different area than where I was experiencing pain. I talked to 2 nurses and 1 doctor all about the same problem, how they mixed up my symptoms I don't understand. They staff were rude and condescending apart from the doctor.

one time when I brought myself to the ER because I have two hernias. I sat in the waiting room for a few hours doubled over in pain we'll all the nurses walked past me without even asking if I was okay. Another time I was brought in by ambulance at around 5:30 in the morning. Id been house sitting and no one knew where I was, I'd left my phone in the house by mistake. I'd ask nurses several times if I could call my dad so someone knew I was okay. They refused to let me call him for hours until about 7:30 because I needed to see a doctor first according to them. finally my dad found me after calling multiple hospitals in a panic and the nurse has informed me that he was on the phone meanwhile I'm in tears stressed out and worried about the dog that was also in the house because no one would listen to me and allow me to make a quick call.

Amazing staff and facility. Could use a smith machine, but otherwise wonderful!

I have been seen by a male so called doctor Vic Goshko . He did not listen to my concerns was very rude , did not take my full medical history , did not review my file when asked . Looked like he wanted to cash my tax paycheque without even listening to me . When I asked his full name he became aggressive and threatened me . Do yourself a favour and ask to be seen by another doctor to avoid being bullied as I did . I dont know if he is bipolar

I have never had a good experience here, it has always been 4-5 hours minimum wait, even when there was barely anyone in the waiting room. I am not a fan of this hospital myself, but the last time I was there was a couple weekends ago and I honestly cannot believe how rude the front desk person was. My friend had a concussion and she had spoken to a nurse on the phone previously before going to the hospital, the nurse had told her she needed to be seen within 3 hours. So this hospital was the closest to home, when we got there the time on the board said "Estimated Wait Time: 4:27". At first there was no one at the front desk, and we waited for about 5 minutes, then we went over to the glass doors and we could see there was a nurse behind it drinking a coffee, when he saw us he slowly disappeared around a corner, we waited for another 15 minutes until he showed back up. My friend then asked how long the wait was going to be and he rudely replied "Can you not see the screen on the wall?" She said, "Yes I can see it, but I was told I need to see a doctor within 3 hours and I just want to know whether it's worth it to stay here or should I go somewhere else?" He replied with "I can't give you that information." We asked why not and he said "Because I can't." We ended up leaving and going to the hospital out in Black Diamond, but I was seriously appalled with the way this nurse treated her. The actual doctors are nice (or at least the one that I had the only time I ever waited the 4 hours) but the people in the front are very rude, or at least they have been every time I have went there. There are of course some positives, it was very clean and the waiting room is huge and has a kids area. But, I, myself will avoid this hospital at all cost.

great hospital. must have cost vast amount. so don't you think you could come up with a more inspiring name than South?

Jess Winston

@sully jenkins You should raise your voice about that nurse to her higher up or to the health service that just sounds too terrible what kind of nurse does that? mean one who doesn't enjoy her job she should be not working as a nurse

Im writing a review about the women's health clinic. I was referred here by my Dr and although I have yet to actually see Dr Thurston each time I call to inquire about a cancellation appointment Karen (at the front desk) is so friendly. I call every week and she never treats me like I am burdening her...she's always so friendly and helpful! She is fantastic and helpful and a great first point of contact for the clinic!

My daughter was born here and we were well taken care of. Only issue I have is with the hours the cafeteria is open as it was sometimes difficult to get down there before they closed.

Worst ER you will encounter... Go here if you wanna wait for 8hrs or more before they do something

Going to the emergency is USELESS. They will just do standard tests but not the specific tests required for your specific needs. I have waited from 7pm to 2am complaining about my pelvic pain but no extra exams done. Lab tests done were the standard ones. I specifically needed an exam to see if i have ectopic pregnancy from another doctor's recommendation which should have been done in blood tests. They did not do that. They said i am not pregnant but how did they come up with that conclusion? I can do a pregnancy exam in urine myself...What they have done is to read my previous records and just ECHOED what is already KNOWN... how can a country like Canada get such a useless health care system. I think those nurses and doctors are wasting our taxes money by not taking their jobs seriously and worrying more on where they will spend their vacation and do outdoor activities (what you will hear while waiting in ER rooms).
