We came all the way from Cold Lake to the Paediatric Center for our son. We were brought in quickly and didn’t wait long. We had two bring our other two young kids with us and the appt was long. But one dr came and put on cartoons for them, brought them colouring stuff and even snacks. The 3 doctors we saw were amazing. Even the resident who is still learning was great. They really took the time to listen to all my concerns, were so so kind to my son. They helped us address some current issues and have put a plan in place to work on some others too. We have had too many poor experiences with Drs. So we were worried coming here, but they did not disappoint. We are happy to make the drive so that our son gets the proper care he deserves.
Typical hurry up and wait. Got there on time for my appointment and it was over 2 hours before I was seen and then the doctor came in, rushed through the results and left before I could ask any questions. I felt very disrespected and unimportant.
My son arrived in the late evening after being referred by Health Link to ensure his symptoms were addressed by a Doctor. The paramedic assured my son that the hospital will at very least do a blood test and take an x-ray to ensure the symptoms were not linked to something serious. After waiting in the Waiting room for over 5 hours to be totally dismissed by a Dr using his stethoscope stated nothing further was required and he can go home. Very poor medical care. Don't go to this center if you are hoping to be assessed or treated for medical concerns.
Have always had great service! The staff from beginning to end are respectful, caring and actually listen!!!
Never again.was misdiagnosed and the I.v. left a lump and nasty bruise.now my mom is still suffering.THete IS NO HEALTH CARE at all.
I had severe diherea, vomiting and stomach pain, and no one h lped me for over 4 hours. Eventually I left l, I can lay at hom e as well... The worst hospital I've even encountered.
Really great staff.
I DO look at things from a outsiders perspective, and my mother is a Registered Nurse. The staff at this hospital were unprofessional and not helpful whatsoever. I understand that there a lot of patients coming in and out, but a level of professionalism must be maintained. I really don’t understand why people go to school to become a doctor, when they clearly aren’t motivated to create a productive environment. Free Healthcare means nothing, if the “quality care” is not meeting its standards.
I've always known this clinic to be slow with their emergency patients. We have always experienced a 4 hr wait time there even a couple years ago. So I think they still need to improve their patient wait times there but the staff are great and friendly! Most of them treats kids nicely which is great! Specially nurse Lisa and the doc that did the stitches on my daughter (apologize for not knowing his name as he didnt really introduced himself come to think of it) But yea only thing they need to improve on is patients wait times for the emergency area.
I cannot thank the entire staff in Emergency enough! I fell on my elbow - hard & broke it on the ice & the entire team took excellent care of me. It was terribly busy & everyone was so courteous & professional despite how whiney & nasty some people were being to the staff. The care I received was phenomenal & I am very grateful.❤
I mean obviously the wait times suck. But dr.Fisher is fantastic and ove dealt with him twice now with this pregnancy and he really is fantastic. Some of the nurses are kinda snarky but some are also really amazing and kind.
At this time they are very busy and wait times are long but they go above and beyond with their patients. Nurses are very patient and nice.
I came into the emergency room at 6:30 am on Saturday. The wait in the lobby sucked for me and the three other patience in that confined space. Considering I was unconformable forced to sit with everyone well vomiting my guts out in a bucket. At some point my name was called and I got a room. After seeing my doctor. I waiting an hour in "pain time" (truthfully no more than 25 minutes) to see my nurse. I came at the worse time because it was shift change for the nurses. The nurse came back only for me to roast him several time. He truthfully took it very well and I would like to thank Nurse Luke so much for being so kind well I was in an unbelievable amount of pain and I'm truly sorry for any thing I said.

It was great. Didn't wait at all but it was pretty quiet at the time. Nurses were very helpful and much more professional/kind than the one at Royal Alec!
I was absolutely disgusted in this "Health Centre" as yesterday evening my sister in law was denied care, as the triage nurse felt it wasn't an emergency. There were no patients waiting in the waiting and someone just didn't want to do their job! My sister in law has issues with low blood sugars and gets dizzy. It was so bad yesterday that she spent half the day in the bathroom vomiting and could barely walk, but they said she was not an emergency! It is really sad when a hospital is empty and they will not help someone who needs it. I only clicked one star because I could not post without giving it at least one!
Wouldn't even give this place 1 star. Very ignorant health "professionals". The doctor and nurse I had during my last visit were absolutely horrible. If anything I fear going to an emergency with the way I had been treated by AHS workers.
Not a bad experience at the emergency on a Sunday. While I know that this is an emergency, I WILL STRONGLY RECOMMEND EACH EMERGENCY CENTERS INDICATING THE MINIMUM WAITING TIMES AND REVISE IT ACCORDINGLY. The doctor and the nurses that attended to me where very nice but waited almost 5 hours before being treated.
Dr was not professional and she was kind of rude. No compassion and after 5hrs dr said, she doesn't know what causes my pain. Same as nurses, using personal phones while triage and the hospital wasn't too busy and they could provide better one on one service.
Helped me many times. Close to home. Competent doctors.
Nothing is perfect or run like a well oiled machine, wait times are long, and patience run short. You can thank the many health cut backs for that. Positive feedback. Nurse's Doctor's are professionals providing the best care that they can given the staff they have to work with. You're in Canada ???????? not the States it could be alot worse.
Dawn the RN at triage is probably one of the worst RN's I've ever dealt with. She will throw in a "sweetheart" here and there to make it seem like she's being nice but her attitude stinks. People in healthcare should genuinely care about the well being of others, Dawn does not. Sad that there are people like this working in healthcare.
I’ve taken both my kids to the children’s centre for vaccinations and the nurses are always exceptional. Very kind, professional and compassionate. Never a bad experience.
They took excellent care of me, great stand alone Emerg for less severe issues. Very friendly staff.
Busy little hospital. Always got the care I needed.
Perfect staff.
Great service, great staff, only thing kept from 5 star was 2+ hour wait.
Come for my kids immunizations, very helpful courteous and professional
Had a blood gas drawn , the staff was delightful , the student who worked on me was kind and took her time , and tbh it was the least painful experience I've had with blood gas .. my thanks and gratitude to them
Hi there I just wanted to tell people how wonderful I was treated at this center. I want to thank-you for taking care of me! There are very caring, funny, and they make sure you are well enough to go home!! Thank you to the staff and the paramedics I felt safe!!
5 year old girl needed 1 stitch at 8:00pm and when the dr. finally looked at it at 11:30 when it finally bleeding he says we'll put some numbing cream on it and a bandaid. and finally walking out at 12:00am and now her scare is garrented for a 5 year little girl they couldn't actually care less about. very unimpressed.
Easily the worst nurse I have ever had!! Asked a question about my treatment to find out why the test was being run. Was told “if you don’t like it then leave!” Didn’t complain once, simply asked “why?” Will never return to this hell hole!
Very caring doctor's and nurses. Thank you for all that you do.
Doctors were super friendly with fast and intelligent things to say.
Good hospital
Why is this called an emergency hospital ur not even supposed to wait that long in a normal hospital!! I’ve had way way! better service in east Africa and Ethiopia. ( more patients less hospitals there). I have 1.3 year old kid with a concussion with me now and waiting for so Long anthill he fall asleep ???? very sad Edmonton.
One important caveat: Paramedics - they were fantastic. They genuinely seemed like they wanted to help. Once we got to triage - After picking, prodding and prying to get help for a potentially serious kidney issue -the doctors/nurses were quite nice to deal with. They do seem like they want to achieve some form of lasting improvement. So to the conduct of the doctors, nurses and paramedics I say: 100% great conduct, guilty by association. Wait times are potentially deadly.
Extremely rude staff especially the lady ( not sure if a nurse) by the main entrance. Waiting hours is tooooo longggg...do not recommend to come in this emerg clinic....zero stars!!!! ????
I had multiple experiences with this hospital. Since it’s right by my place and emergencies are emergencies so I have no choice but to rush. My mom was having chest pain and could hardly breath we waited 7 hours and haven’t been seen she was turning red . We wanted to leave to go to royal Alex because I’m not trying to let some unorganized hospital with rude nurses and lousy security have someone pass away there. Don’t go there it’s the worst thing ever . They don’t care about anything or anyone clearly you have to have heart attack to be accepted.
Overall experience is good. They do care about patients
My wife and I have been here numerous times and each time they’ve done what they were trained to do and we’ve walked away comfortable in the knowledge that we’d been well taken care of and Systematically triaged. Unfortunately Goggle has allowed people’s personal opinion’s (such as my 5⭐️‘S) to rate a triage unit. To be annoyed is natural when we feel our needs aren’t being meet; however, this is NOT like complaining about the lack of free refills - these professionals have to deduces what is wrong and why, this take TIME and PATIENCE. Perhaps if you have frustrations and concerns over customer service and AHS’s failing to provide adequate patient care you should forward your complaints to Premier Jason Kenny.
Takes wayyyyy to long to be seen.
Big 0 for this hospital
Very professional and awesome staff. Made a painful visit very tolerable. Tks staff
I broke my hand in the USA and then I was ask what is your insurance company.. and then i received my bill it was huge and then I had to file for bankruptcy???????? but after a long wait i got in so i can get fix up ..
Often quite a wait, and while it has an emergency ward it is not a full hospital.
So For..So Good...At Amsafe Dr.Colleen Kjelland is really confident professional...very caring...Good Thoughts for all from my side..Plz keep up the gr8 work.
Worst emergency hospital ever. The time wait is brutal, the front desk triage team doesn’t know how to properly triage at all. People with less severe symptoms than you are pushed in much faster. Once in the back room to see the doctor you continue to wait a few more hours while the RNs just stand around chatting with one another and playing on their cellphones. This is the most ridiculous place I’ve ever seen and they don’t seem to care about your pain or your wellbeing in general. They treat you as if you’re just another paycheque to them.
I was tested for Covid twice and it came back negative but still had breathing issues so was told to go to the ER. The posted wait time was 30 min and I sat in Isolation for well over an hour and there were only 3 other patients there. The staff were rude and unprofessional and it took every ounce of self control to not be rude in return. I will NEVER go back.
Pros: Good doctors and nurses. Modern facility. Free Parking. Cons: Some doctors' receptionists do not return phone calls to book appointments even when urgent, which is very unfortunate. Not enough Public Parking, meanwhile lots of open Staff Parking spaces unused. Parking security roaming around to ticket vehicles. Also front end receptionists seem to disappear when it is lunch time, so don't go during lunch hour. **More parking stalls need to be made available to patients and still sticking to the free parking. Hospital is now asking pateints to register vehicle license plates to see how much time people park as there are possible plans to make all parking PAID PARKING. That would be very GREEDY for the hospital to do as they are charging parking based on people's illness and/or need for medical attention. Time will tell if the hospital will keep FREE PARKING or get GREEDY and change parking to PAID PARKING.
Long wait.
The medical care is great quick and efficient. Parking is free which makes waiting in a room less stressful but sometimes it's hard to find an empty stall
Checked in last night for an emergency. Very friendly, attentive, kind, polite and knowledgable staffs. Very pleased with their service from the time I walked in and checked out. Very great service from the staffs taking care of the patients. I am not sure how the reviews from people for emergency centers like this. Periodical check on patients for different test and status check for the patients are absolutely great. Incredible service. Thank you North East Community Health Centre.
Was asked about my symptoms in an obviously skeptic manner. Instead of compassion or suggestive actions, I got a cold and cavalier attitude about my symptoms. I was treated in a condensending way and may to feel as if I was making things up. I left with a bad taste in my mouth. I giving it 2 stars because, besides the one doctor the rest of the staff were fine.
I’m not sure about these negative reviews, I guess people are very critical. I found the entire experience great from the time I walked in until the time I left. They were very polite, friendly, attentive and I received a fast diagnosis regarding my emergency. Admittedly it was a slower evening for them but nevertheless I’m very sure they do the best they can under the circumstances they face... I think people need to understand that this is an emergency centre and should be treated as such. Thank you for the positive experience under trying circumstances...
It is a good facility. Parking is free but can get full fast. Triage and waiting time is average. Nurses do more work than the doctor, and tend to remind the doctors on certain things. The last two times in the past (6+months ago) we have gotten stuck with a "I am never wrong" doctor. My mom has a lot of medical things going on, while trying to explain everything he cuts us off asking, in my opinion, unimportant questions. Then when she starts describing her symptoms, liked he asked her, he cuts her off and says what he thinks is wrong with her, which was far from what was happening. The nurses were more caring and helpful then he was, though they tend to get distracted easily. That doctor diagnoses before he hears everything. I do want to thank the nurses on duty for all of your support and help, thanks to you guys harassing the doctor, he finally took care of my mom... though he was not happy about being told what to do.
This place is TERRIBLE. The staff are NOT friendly. They are not sympathetic and nobody does anything. There were at least 10 nurses standing around talking while there were a bunch of people that were in need of service. I never go to the hospital, but this time I did because I was having severe pain. I waited for over 4 hours and still didn't get to see a doctor and I was in so much pain that I needed to leave so I could drive to another hospital to see a doctor. This is the worst hospital I have ever been to and I would not recommend going here. Even if this is the closest hospital to you, go to the further one. Going here is pointless.
Wait times are outrageous. The nurses are really great.
Wait long time 5 hours
Broken bones? Don't go here!
One of the doctors was very rude she needs to change her job not a place to be rude to patients!
I went there with what later determined at another hospital to be blood clots and an autoimmune disease related to the destruction of blood cells. After being looked at for 30 minutes I was sent home only to be told that I was anaemic. To be fair, the blood clots were in early stages and while it was unlikely there was tissue damage when I went, I was still tested and there were no signs. However, that still doesn't change the fact that my blood levels were already extremely low and it was thought that I was just anaemic.
Women clinic is the best Good stuff
Have been waiting for more than 3.5 hours with my two kids sick all over the place and still waiting to see the doctor. Go somewhere else if you can. This emergency sucks bad. AHS pls do something about this place.
Worst service I have ever seen wait. Over 3 hours to get stitches on finger.
They took excellent care of my children. The was staff very professional, kind and thoughtful.
They sent my father home rather than transferring him to a hospital for further testing. He came back the next day, they sent him home. He died. Please take your family member to a real hospital. This continues to haunt me seven years later. With antibiotics my dad would have been saved. I continue to blame myself for not taking him to a proper hospital. Every year I go to his grave and apologize. Most of the nurses are new graduates (straight out of school) and resident doctors. They lack experience; thus, critical thinking. I went there a few month ago for something little, and my nurse was a new graduate of 5 months. She was orientating a new staff....a 5 month old nurse working in an Emergency department training others.....
NECHC has been my go to for late night emergency medical needs for about 9 years. Sometimes they are really good... Other times the staff is a but grumpy and it's a 5+ hour wait time. Honestly, just check the AHS website for wait times before going here because NECHC usually has one of the longest times in the city and it might be a better plan to hit up a different emerg.
It’s a hospital and people are giving it bad reviews like it’s a fast food place. The staff were polite and professional.
I had a vicious stomach virus and was well taken care of by the staff, specifically nurses Megan and Mikaela. Thank you so much for your services, keep up the good work!
We went in about St Patrick's day about 2am and were taken care of almost immediately. I had abdominal pain. I had two x rays, 2 bags of iV fluids, a urine sample and ultra sound. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable and caring. I had to go back 5 times for iV therapy and then oral therapy for the same thing. It all depends on what time you go and how busy they are. But in this case it was good a good experience.
Not so great staff at the Northeast Medical hospital to much of a waiting time there at the Northeast Medical hospital ????
EXTREMELY DIRTY AND UNSANITARY. I have provided some photos from our room during our 7 hour visit on a not so busy day here. I had brought the really flithy room to multiple nurses attention and no one seemed to care, I'm assuming because cleaning "isn't their job". Housekeeping is everybodies job in my own opinion. I've seen nicer and cleaner hospital rooms in other countries with less health standards. It will be reported. Avoid this place if you can.
Had to do a walk in cause my regular doctor was not talking appointments but l could see my doctor if l did a walk in can anyone make sense of that here waiting over 2 hrs and 15 mins still waiting
We had a TERRIBLE experience with Dr. Steve Fisher and the staff at this place. We waited 4 hours to be seen by someone suffering 8/10 pain from back, neck, chest and shoulder injuries sustained from being rear-ended at a dead stop by a drunk driver! The police took our statement in the waiting room! I had to constantly speak with nurses who kept telling us we would be seen shortly because of the amount of pain we were in...only to wait hour after hour. When we finally met with Dr. Fisher, he spent less than 10 mins pulling on our arms, checking our breathing and pushing on our stomachs. The guy had the nerve to tell us it was just muscle soreness and it would go away after a A WEEK OR SO! He send in a nurse to give us a small cup of Tylenol and sent us on our way. I don't have a cold, I was in a car crash with a drunk driver! No x-rays, no scans, nothing. I had to ask for follow-up recommendations. The facility is out-dated, under-staffed and completely indifferent to the state of their patients. The "short" posted wait times relative to other hospitals is for GOOD REASON. BEWARE! Go somewhere else if you require immediate professional medical assistance.
I have been seen quickly the nurses are friendly, the doctors are thorough and they saved my life, literally
What a wonderful team of doctors, nurses, and admissions staff. I went in crippling pain and tears and they did so much to make me comfortable.
Far more relaxed then the big 2. Nice staff.
Great staff and services
I had three follow up appointments at the AmSafe Clinic with Dr Thirsk regarding my broken foot. All three appointments were fantastic! In the first appointment, Dr Thirsk noticed that my right lower leg was swollen and referred me to the Royal Alex for an urgent ultrasound to rule out a DVT. He also phoned the Royal Alex to follow up and release me as soon as the results came out negative. Very professional! He has been on time, very professional and answered all of my questions.
Very rude receptionist!
Posted wait time was less than 2 hours. Went for stitches for my son, waited 3 hours to get moved to a crowded observation room. Waited in the second waiting room almost 2 hours. Over 5 hours in the hospital for the doctor to spend 5 minutes closing the wound. Would rather pay a private hospital for reasonable wait times.
First time I went there in terrible pain. Waited for 21/2 hrs just to be put in another room. Nobody came and look out and see the staff hanging out by counter joking around. It would have only taken a few moments to come see how I was doing and perhaps bring a pain killer. I walked out and went to a medicentre. When my wife went with ankle she could not walk on, they took X-ray s and said nothing wrong and gave her pain killers and sent her home after three hour wait. When she gets to her doctor they send her for bloodwork and X-ray s. Could not the emergency staff send her for bloodwork? Staff there are very unprofessional. Never going there again
I have being through many countries in my life and I came from the poorest nation in the world in Africa. But when I compare the medical service I used to get back 200% more than the service this place gives. The waiting time more than eight hours. All the nurses are unprofessional. I suggest it is better to try your own home remedies for your heal issues. This place should be closed in state
Disgusted and disappointed !!! Checked in 11 pm waited 4:30 called and put inside waited another 1:30 hours and been told their is no doctor available right now and wait till 6 am finally nice dr show up and treat us well.are the health care worker punishing the public because of the alberta govt treat them badly?
Ended up in emergency here twice in the span of 2 days, each time I recieved wonderful care. First visit I was seen within 30-40 mins, unfortunately misdiagnosed, but due to circumstances, this was totally understandable as to how that could happen. Second visit I was very unwell and instantly admitted. I cannot thank the doctors, nurses, lab techs, and all other staff enough for the care I recieved. I am very grateful Dr. Mithani was able to determine that something was quite wrong and that she had me transfered to the Royal Alex, where her suspicions were confirmed after more testing and specialized scans. All of the staff were so patient and kind. For those complaining about wait times or rude staff, don't attend an emergency room if you do not need immediate medical attention. It's called an emergency room for a reason, meaning what you are dealing with cannot wait. The triage nurses get a bad rap but you would be frustrated too if you're getting person after person coming in over trivial things. I literally have no complaints about the care I recieved and have nothing but praise for the staff here.
I have had to use the centre a few times and each and every time I've had an incredible nurse taking care of me as well as a very caring doctor. As an indigenous person sometimes I worry that I will be discriminated against but they were absolutely professional and caring. Thank you very much ????
Longest wait when noone was even here. Been here since 630am thinking i would beat a rush. Nope still here 2 hours later and i am in pain so obviously there's no rush for people in pain. I am still waiting to see a doctor. Not impressed
Last night I took my husband in for an "emergency" situation. The lovely nurse at the front desk ushered him in immediately. He was greeted by his nurse, Deanna, who took excellent care of him from start to finish. Our doctor was Dr. Garcea. She is AMAZING! She is thorough, extremely knowledgeable, caring, funny and a fabulous lady who shared her expertise and gave us every opportunity to have our questions answered. They took care of our EVERY need. This facility is STELLAR. Every staff member we encountered was exceptional!
Respectful, caring staff and professional doctors. Always get a proper care when we need it. The wait times are high but I'm sure they take care of serious cases real quick. Thank you everyone working there!
Me and my son got serious food poisoning. We went there at 3.15 am. First, triage nurse did some interview with with us. She was very slow, kept asking same questions over and over again. Entire session lasts 20-30 min. She asked us to wait in the waiting room. My son kept vomiting and was in extreme pain. After 3 hours waiting I went to the registration office and ask the clerk how much longer we should wait. She referered me to the nurse. "Please go and check with the nurse". I went to th nurse and nurse with smily face told me that we are next. I would like to mention that for entire 3 hours ahead of us there were only 2 patients. Around 7.00 am another nurse came up and called us inside. She did again interview with us and laid us down in 2 separate rooms. Finally around 7.00 am doctor came to us. There is security inside I guess for the reason. They know that patients are going to be waiting there long times and in case they got upset there is a security on site to take them out. I felt like in the prison waiting there. This is a very bad medical facility and I will have lasting impression from this visit. Nobody cared, nobody showed any compassion nor understanding. My son was severyly suffering. I also felt weak dehydrated and sick. This is a poor organized facility. I highly not recomment this facility to anyone.
I took my grandpa here for alarmingly high blood pressure. The triage nurse was soooo incredibly kind and patient. She treated us like human beings and didn't rush us away although there was a line building behind us. Very sweet! Then we moved to registration and got the same wonderful treatment. We didn't wait long to get into a room, but we did wait long to see the doctor because his symptoms weren't serious. They nurse who came in to check vitals and get more info was funny and very caring! Finally, at last the doctor came in and he was quite funny and extremely caring and kind towards my grandpa and myself regarding my concerns. He made sure to ask my name and took the time to answer our questions. Overall we had a lovely experience here. When another nurse came in to give him some medication a he mentioned that he was hungry and she asked him what she could get for him to eat. I am grateful we had such a pleasant experience here since we were here until nearly 4am. Thank you!
Check online for wait times, when I went here it was less than a five minute wait for a minor procedure, other times I've seen the wait 2hr+, and it's worth going to Sherwood park or st. Albert where the wait time was sub 30. Staff is decent, bit wait times can be a killer.
This is the worst experience I ever had in my life. The staff are unprofessional and the nurses were very rude to me because I had a hijab on. Even though I am pregnant and had so much pain they made me wait for 7 hours. They have no respect to you especially the nurse. After 7 hours they said I’m next but I wasn’t. Don’t ever make the mistake and come here.
Worst place ever. I will not step into this facility even if i am dying. I took my mom in one night who was having extreme chest pain and was having a hard time breathing. There are signs everywhere that say please let us know if you have a hard time breathing or having any chest pains. I notified the nurses 4x and they didn't do anything for us. We waited for 3 hours while my mom was wheezing and gasping for air. We left without being seen because she couldn't take it anymore. I told the nurse we were going somewhere else as this was ridiculous and she said "You should really wait till we do an ECG" Why wasn't it done during these 3 hours? We left to the RAH where we were seen right away.
Go anywhere else
Good thing it's not that busy when I come A little Getting better now Thank you Dr. Chang for all the test And RN Meagan and RN Ashley for being attentive That's the fastest medical service that I've receive here in Edmonton Thank you Northeast Medical Center
I have been to this ER many times out of convenience i have always lived close and if i ever needed images or tests they could do it all in one place. I dont think iv ever had a great experience but last week was by far the worst i went in for uncontrollable pain. Dr. Gave me heart burn pills. Went to another hospital 2 days later and am now having to go for surgery because they chose not to take any scans. Even the nurses were surprised no one did an xray or ultrasound. Will for sure ve going elsewhere from now on.
Unable to understand the continued coming and going of staff while waiting. There are a lot of people working here. Only 2 patients at any one time waiting (no arriving ambulances), but its still several hours wait. We are supposed to be privelged to have our healthcare system, but I don't see.
wait time so long we ask them why they say the people that are sicker go before u even though there not wait like 8 hours outside then they take u in but u have to wait another 4 hours if u have serious illness I suggest u go to somewhere else dont risk ur childs life.
Our 6 month old daughter had projectile vomited 5 times in a matter of 20 minutes. This emergency room is a 1 min drive from our house. We arrived at the emergency. The triage nurse on, at 10:30 pm on November 20, 2016, called us over to help to check us in. She asked us what brought us in. I explained everything to her. She asked for clarification. I explained again. This repeated multiple times. During me explaining the same thing over and over again. Our daughter and puked 5 more times! She was so weak she couldn't hold her head up. We asked her to please hurry so we can see a doctor. She asked us to repeat everything again! My husband stepped in because he saw I was so frustrated. As soon as he stepped in to reexplain everything I had already said she called security on us. My husband did not threaten her or swear at her just repeated everything I had already been saying. The security wouldn't get off our backs, the nurses were not helping our daughter, so we left and went to the stollery emergency room where we recieved excellent service and everyone was so friendly to us.
Really good Emergency services available here. Sometimes you have to wait. Overall decent care available.
Husband came in when it was pretty quiet. Been waiting for two hours terrible service no one checking up on him. Don't go here in case of emergency
My mother in law was in the hospital there for 7 hours and NO ONE gave her a glass of water after she asked for it. Not recommended unless you are out of options. Not everyone is on the same page as in covid
Took my 88 year old mother with COPD ( severe breathing issues) on Monday evening..she was feeling really unwell and was cranky. The staff from security, respitory ,nurses and doctors were all amazing.Caring efficient care with great grace and a sense oh humor.Big shoutout to our respitory therapist who was fantastic ( sorry forgot her name but she does 7 day camping trips and tolerated Starbucks instant coffee)You all made a difficult night easier..Thanks again.
Great place. Lil bit of a wait sometimes.
Doctor and nurse experience was 4 stars. 1 star is for upon returning for bio sample, lab technicians were incredibly unprofessional and irrate to the point of causing a patient to cry, all because the doctor didn't fill out the paperwork correctly.
The worst hospital by Far in Edmonton , This Is my Third time here and I am Currently typing this review while i am a patient with no care at all and Neglecting My problem , waiting inside for 6 hours (after 4 hours ). Guess the way they treat the patient rudly and Digrace For no reason to mention at all .
I rolled my ankle couldn't walk on it and I came in immediately offered me and brought me a wheelchair, the wait time wasn't bad maybe an hour and everyone was really friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend
Super long wait and then I got to dress my own wound.
Be prepared when they say 40 minute wait your actually going to be waiting for 5 hours or more. Once you get in mind you they were very good and seemed to care.
Great experience with doctors and staff in emergency. They were friendly, polite, knowledgeable and caring. They took good care while treating my 2yr old daughter. There were two doctors and three nurses at the same time monitoring my little one while stitching/repairing the deep wound.
Calling the plsce their office is actually only oen tuesday and Thursday and they dont even tell you when. No appointment reminders.
Nurses were amazing. Kind and compassionate. I was in a lot of pain and scared. The nurse I had made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. I didnt have to wait long. They took good care of me. The doctor was very thorough in getting to the bottom of my issue. He was also kind and compassionate. He definitely cares about his patients! I was very impressed with my visit to Emergency department, all things considered. Thank you for helping me!
If you have an appointment or go to the pediatric ward its an 8/10 experience, but if you're dropping in expect a 5 hour wait time. If you're really sick, in pain, or don't know whats wrong with you, just go to the royal alex; if you're not hurt enough to need an ambulance, you're not hurt enough to be treated quickly here.
Rude! Rude! Rude!
nice staff. they are very kind to me so i say 5/5
I had a great experience yesterday. I had an accident while I was riding my mountain bike in Strathcona Science Park and injured my foot. Luckily, I was still able to ride back to the parking lot and drive my vehicle to the Northeast Community Health Centre. The waiting time was negligible and everyone was friendly and helpful from the admin clerks to the radiology technician, Mary to Dr Walker who looked at my foot and addressed my concerns.
My boyfriend occasionally comes here to be treated for crohn's pains, and the nurses intentionally make him wait for a long time to get a room regardless of his level of pain. They talk to him as if it's his fault he's there, and are incredibly unprofessional and rude. This is not how nurses should be treating their patients. Even my own experience was horrible here, acting as if it was my fault that I didn't get my broken arm treated sooner.its not my fault that I didn't know it was broken, and it's not his fault that he has crohn's. They need to take care of their patients better.
I've had mixed experiences in the past, but my most recent experience was top notch, very professional. Thank you.
My mom had to go in for her back, the nurses here gave so much attitude and we’re very rude! Plus it wasn’t even that busy and she made me and my sister wait the waiting room because “it’s to small”, when she had the whole room to herself!
I have been fasting for 12 hours, took a tracking number and was waiting 30 minutes and got up to go to the bathroom and noticed they up a sign up to indicate they were serving emergency patients. They could tell from their tracker that there were 2 people waiting. They did no t have the professional courtesy to tell us they were closing to serve emergency patients.
This place is pointless and should not exists! My mother is in so much pain and it’s like these people even don’t care! People who are laughing and playing on their god dam phones are getting called in while she is crouched over in tears cause of the pain! How is this hospital even still here! You think night time would be faster but it’s not. 10 nurses to 1 doctor?!? How does that make sense. And the doctor / nurses walking around talking about their OT and the dam hockey game with security. Mmmmmm ya you people really care about your patients!! This is the worse place to bring your family or friends, take the extra time and go to the Royal Alec Hospital. Screw this place who doesn’t even care how their patients are feeling.
The staff the doctors and nurses were all amazing the other day. They helped me very fast and extremely thorough. Me and my wife were so happy with how good these pros are. Thank you so much to all who keep the health of us all close to their hearts. Merry Christmas.
Wait 7 hrs before done each steps takes 1.5 hrs before you move to the next step cant imagine
Online said 0-30 minutes. Place is EMPTY been left in waiting room for well over an hour. 2 hours since time of arrival. And it’s EMPTY.
Where did they get the nurse who triage nurse from around 9.30pm on Friday January 22, 2016! She was very rude, unprofessional, inconsiderate, lacks ethics and a lot more desired of public servant! It's unfortunate that we have such people in public responsible institutions! Another suprise is it first come first served or it upon interest persons? I was left to wonder how they do their job!
Not sure why good reviews? Got there 7.30pm with my son, triage nurge gave him Advil and said come back 9.15pm to check. Sent us to register then wait there sitting until 12.15am not been called. When I asked the counter, "we have few peoples ahead of him and depends if anything else comes up, there's nothing I can do". I have seen all those night shift nurses going home but, we are still waiting. Finally, about 1.30am they let us in, another waiting area. Waited another 20mins to half hour a doctor finally came and talked to us. Sent my son to X-rays and bla...bla...finally done 3.30am! Doctor is good but the wait time is ridiculous by just letting a 6 yr old sick kid wait the whole night?
Not impressed at all with the nurses! Very rude. No compassion for the patients and their families. Doctors are great but I truly recommend that they get rid of all the nurses and get new one's. I have nothing but disgust for the nurses! With those nurses working there I'd rather go to the Royal Alex. Needless to say, that doesn't say much for the nurses at the northeast.
Good place for a variety of community services and minor emergencies
The emergency is very bad we wait 4 hours
Extreme lack of common sense with the triage nurses. After arriving at 12pm, I waited till 4pm watching sore tummy after sore tummy walk through the doors to get checked up. Meanwhile the guy next to me was gushing blood out his face, thankfully he got to go finally but I decided to ask how much longer my wait would be and the nurse was extremely rude and scoffed out "you can wait as long as it takes, but if you must know it'll be another 3 hour wait." If you got sick kids with tummy aches make sure you go here... I could have had a knife in my stomach and got the same reply from the lady. Absolutely terrible hospital.
Terrible service. The lady at the front who checks your vitals was STUCK UP as if I were lying about the symptoms I have, I was on the phone to my brother explaining whats going on and when my name was called she shouted "OFF!!!" Across the room... theres no sign that says no phones and many other people were using their phones as well! Not just that the nurses are stuck up, I asked for another glass of water to swallow 2 pills and she seemed as if she was annoyed to have to go get more water. The doctor was helpful but I will tell u they will do absolutely nothing at this hospital and will not take u seriously for a minute... many people who have gone here have been told nothing is wrong and later discover problems. Dont go here
I took my 13 month old daughter there at 830pm after she projectile vomited 4 times after eating. We waited until midnight then were told it would be another 1.5 hr wait minimum once we got a room. People who came in after us were seen before us. We left for 45 minutes then came back and we were removed from the list and would have started our wait all over again. Almost 4 hours is a long wait with a 13 month old and not seeing a doctor. Ill never go there again! They sould prioritize seniors and babies! Not a good experience.
If you value your health and most people do. Don't go here especially if your diabetic or have a sick child. Way Better off going straight to the Royal Alex or the U of A, or for a child the Stollery.
I payed the ambulance fees at this location but they did not send the payment to the Ems until the ems sent to the credit collector.nobody at his location to help me find a prove of payment .seem nobody know about the finance departement .it is frustated
This is by far the worst hospital in all of alberta. DO NOT GO HERE. THEY WILL NOT TAKE CARE OF YOU. After going there for days on end without receiving the proper patient care, the nurse caught the biggest attitude with me and said “I’m not your friend I’m not here to take care of you”. Excuse me? Are you not a nurse who's job it is to take care of sick patients? When did I ask for her friendship? DO NOT GO HERE. THEY RATHER WATCH YOU DIE THEN GIVE YOU CARE. I'm going to pursue this matter.
Failed to prescribe the blood thinners needed for my friends blood clot necessitating another visit to a better hospital and a much more aggressive course of blood thinners than would have been needed.
Wait times are terrible, came in at 830 with a 2 year old with an ear infection and left at midnight as there were still 2 people ahead and was told there are bed patients and chair patients, so we watched the waiting room empty and refill and pretty much empty again and was told well they were all waiting for bed so I guess we were just not important enough and would be seen only if the doctors have spare time. I've been many times and sometimes doesn't seem so bad but I guess they really just put you in category based on how they feel your importance is .. I'm done with this place! How is a 2 year old waiting 4-5 hours to see a doctor ? Just say you don't have time and stop wasting people's time
I am waiting for more than 6 hours now and when i was coming was showing a waiting list of just 55 min. It s from far the worst hospital in Alberta.
Staff is very rude. Didn't even go in based on the attitude of the woman who answered the phone. Very ignorant and bitchy.
Nurses here are very rude horrible experience
Hard working, knowledgeable professionals when you need them the most. Probably smaller than needed, to be fair.
While standing in line for the triage the nurse stands up, gathers her belongings and leaves. Nobody to replace her. Just leaves while people are waiting. I have never seen anything like it. Not impressed at all!!!
Worst place ever. Waiting time is unreal. Don't waste your time and go some where else .
Horrible, slow, I waited 6 hours for an X-ray and I seen nurses doctors any staff just standing around chatting my experience here was absolutely ridiculous and I will never come back again
I have sever asthma and went there around 6:40pm, was given an inhaler from a respiratory therapist, then sent back out to wait.(She said she would come check on me, but never did) After an hour and a half I let them know my breathing is getting worse. They give me more of the same inhalers and move me to a room. I lay in pain, struggling to breath and coughing,. NO ONE COMES, by 10:55 pm. I had still not seem a Dr. Or anyone else for that matter. I walked out! This was my first and last time EVER to go to this pathetic place. HELLO PEOPLE breathing improperly is a serious situation. Guess NOT to these people. I have been treated way better then this for my condition elsewhere. THAT'S WHERE I'LL GO!!
Everyone was kind and helpful. Doc seemed to care and was gentle. Wait time was not bad at all.
Too bad
I thought coming here I would receive good care. At first I thought maybe the nurses in the waiting room were burned out but then when I received their abusive behaviour and seen many others treated badly I was scared what type of care I was going to get. I recommend going to a actual hospital where they treat you with dignity not here.
Can’t express the appreciation I have for the staff at this hospital.drs and nurses were the best I’ve ever seen.with exception of one security guard that treated a man horribly.I highly recommend this place had a emergency surgery and everything was perfect.overwhelmed with the great people there
It a good place You don’t have to wait long this place save my balls
I went in for x-rays on an ankle injury. I waited about 3 hours, had 2 (only) images done and was told that it was sprained. Go home, keep it elevated, apply ice/cold, take ibuprofen for pain and if it's not better in a week, have it checked again. I did....I stayed home all week and just came back from a different health care facility where they explained the injury to me, and said I should not have been putting any weight on it, so should have been wearing a walking cast and using crutches. This was such a simple but crucial thing; while they were pleasant enough, I'm angry. I get it, they are busy and didn't want to take the time to explain everything, so.... why not have a handout at least so people can take the appropriate steps to recovery.
They care very little your in pain and can’t answer any questions people are waiting so long they are making the decision to just be in pain and leaving
I was there today with my daughter for some mental health they did way more for use i leaf feeling good thankyou to you all god bless
8 hours waiting time is unbelievable
