Extremely disappointed with the wait times for ultrasounds. I spend on average 4 hours each time waiting because they are delayed that long, its ridiculous!!
The experience I had to delivery my son was fantastic. The whole process was smooth and be carefully taken cared by the nurses and doctors. Specially , I thank you who were in my delivery for your truly helpful and care for me. With your simple and concise instruction, I have no tear ! This is the best hospital I highly recommend.
I’ve gone here several times and can’t say enough great things about the nursing staff and especially Dr. Jiwa. She is truly a saint! She has a great bedside manner and will instantly put you at ease. All the nurses I’ve encountered here are very comforting and sweet as well. They make hard visits bearable. I’ve never had an issue with wait times either. Each time I’ve been here I am in and out pretty quickly. I am super greatful for this facility and the amazing staff.
idk who to blame KENNY or COVID We the ppl standing against the govt for the doctors and nurses; and what they are doing? They are just trying to tell the Govt; what will happen by not having enough staff. im really disappointed by the staff and the doctors here at lois hole. Bring in more doctors, we already have enough nurses, cut down waiting time and plz try to b a human being at least when u r dealing with humans
I’m in the pelvic pain clinic and this is my review: When you walk into the basement where the women’s clinics are at the Lois Hole, there’s a large banner describing the lack of research and medical advancement in women’s Health. It’s never been a priority and the Lois Hole is committed to being a change maker. The problem here is the reality: Lois Hole is severely underfunded. The programs are severely under funded. My pelvic pain doctor has a nurse three times a week and a full program. In addition to that, I surmise she also has surgeries and medical emergencies to attend to. The pelvic pain physiotherapist is amazing! Unfortunately it is a program severely under funded. There’s no mental health support in this program which is weird for an area of medicine that focuses so much on the impact of pain on the brain. If a person has CPTSD, OCD, anxiety, and panic disorder like I do AND complex pain it’s harder to treat. Mental health psychiatry, psychology, and support in that respect should be a basic minimum. Many patients will suffer from medical ptsd from a lifetime of gaslighting and dismissal before entering such a program. How has this not been a priority? Qi gong is great. One may go at their own pace. The timing of it conflicts with another program I need, so the once a week on one day offering is a letdown. Hypnotherapy: only offered twice a month. This is probably going to be one of the most important aspects of my pain management journey. One session while in a mental health crisis and I was able to meditate myself to sleep for a couple of days when the pain became too overwhelming it hurts to even breathe. Is this offering considered by the hospital to be experimental? Less substantiated than other medical treatments? Having a guided medical hypnotherapy once a WEEK would impact the amount of medication I need to take for pain management. I can’t be the only one that has experienced this that recognizes medical hypnotherapy as effective and positive as it is for me. Ultimately the funding of the Lois Hole is greatly disappointing. Perhaps one day the hospital will take the banner at the front entrance to Lois Hole seriously and fund Gynecological health like it matters. The average rating of 3.1 for Lois Hole Hospital is no surprise to me. I am rating 3 because the staff is amazing. It’s too bad gyne health is so underfunded at this place in 2021
I gave birth about a week ago, and just wanted to point out that my whole experience here was nothing but AMAZING! Everyone, from the person at the front desk to the nurses that attended and helped me in the delivery room, my anesthesiologist, delivery doctor and the rest were more than exceptional! I also want to especially THANK Melissa (too bad I was not able to get her last name. She has long black hair and of Asian decent if am not mistaken). She was there the whole time I was on labor until delivery, helped me push, she had great techniques which made me feel extra comfortable all the way to the end. SHE WAS AWESOME AND WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND! I hope somehow this reaches her: My husband and I can't thank you enough, you never once showed youre tired, and only showed how much you love your work. We can't describe the gratefulness we have. Hope you continue to help more people and again we clearly felt that you really love what you're doing ( we need more nurses like you!) so all the best to your future endeavors hopefully we cross paths again one day. XOXO Aaron, Mai & Baby Amelia
Just had my second baby here and I appreciate all the staff and their bedside manners. However, I found it interesting that in 24hrs I’ve spent in a shared room, I was not once offered a meal, yet when the staff came to pick up other ladies’ trays they would always ask me if I was done with my tray. When I said that I was never offered any meal in the first place, the response was: OK :) Just a reminder that while I had a husband by my side who could go and get me food whenever I needed it, it may not be the case for everyone. Something to address with your personnel.
Waited five freaking hours after the the appointment was scheduled to be seen by someone doing ultrasounds......
2 years to see someone, finally get a appointment then they cancelled ,waited for next appointment to go in. Lost all my paperwork that was sent in!developed a bladder infection or something worse ,they told me go see my doctor!!!!ladies at front desk ,I swear hate everyone!nurses are snarky and uncareing!
Baby was born on the 4th floor here. Amazing experience. Moved to the second floor which I guess is the prison ward? At least that's what it felt like.
Women's centre fetal echo department takes FOREVER. showed up on time and waited for hour and a half and i still haven't been called in for my appointment. Absolutely insane. There should be phone calls made to patients with appointments letting them know they are behind. HIGHLY i convenient for people to have to take off work and then pay for parking on top. Crazy.
I had to stay at the hospital for three days after delivery in September. My baby needed extra attention. Me as a new mother was very anxious, and nervous. I had difficulty feeding my baby. And I was at my wits end. All the nurses and doctors were helpful but one nurse that really gave me her 100% was Hafija. If she is reading this, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. She was my nurse for 2 shifts. She made it easy for me to take care of my baby when I was in pain. She is incredible.
(Translated) very nice experience. the staff are attentive to patients and very courteous. the follow-up was impeccable after a surgery that I had just undergone in this hospital .. Bravo to the whole team (Original) très belle expérience.le personnel est à l’écoute des patients et très courtois.le suivi a été impeccable après une chirurgie que je venais de subir dans cet hôpital.. Bravo à toute l’équipe
RE: THE UROGYNECOLOGY DEPARTMENT I feel like this isn’t some thing a physician should need to be reminded about but here we are. Dr. Erin Kelly should immediately review the Guidelines for the diagnosis and management of recurrent urinary tract infection in women. My mom is having reoccurring UTI infections she will get a little bit of antibiotics she gets a little bit better and then they won’t treat her until it’s come back and spread to her kidneys this last time. There are different guidelines for reoccurring or complicated UTI infection i’m not sure why this doctor doesn’t know that.
I was checking in to do my ultrasound. The receptionist somehow remember me in particular out of hundreds of people and says I did not have my health card since end of February. I tell the woman but I have drivers license and the green paper from registry which I was told no doctor should turn it down. Plus I told her that my mail box was broken and didn’t get anything. She says that doesn’t make any sense. Frustrated after looking for parking for 40 minutes I told her I can go home. Then she says next time you might have to pay I already checked you in. Now , I call registry and they say she should be reported to her supervisor as the green piece of paper with my number should have been enough. The rest of the staff are great! But this short haired wearing glasses woman wanted to have more power than given to her. Still thinking of reporting her to the supervisor.
1 star for waiting time as it was more than 2hrs for ultrasound. But the technician who did my ultrasound was so kind and polite. Doctor explained everything in detail that I understood each and every term. Had a great experience.
Worst place to take an appointment.
Our first child was born here this week and the staff was absolutely amazing. So supportive and accommodating during the birth and post partum care, and integrated with the care provided by our midwives seamlessly. We were here for 36 hours and felt almost at home. The nurses helped with anything and everything, incredibly polite and professional. I was surprised by how comfortable my wife's bed and even the pullout chair I slept in was: my back issues make me a bit of a delicate flower when it comes to sleeping surfaces, but I actually was able to sleep when not caring for mom or baby. I was very annoyed that I had to drive past several other hospitals to take my family to this one... but I am very glad that we chose the Lois Hole hospital. Thank you so much to all the staff here.
Brutal. Terribly managed. Terrible staff. Terrible attitude. Something about this place smells like greasy crooked overbilling, overlooking and just an overall terribly designed system. This place needs an efficiency expert analysis....months ago.
Amazing place. Every staff member we interacted with was knowledgeable, caring, and empathetic. Our labor and delivery nurse, Talia, was particularly fantastic. Could not have picked a better hospital.
My husband and I will be forever grateful for the care and attention we both received while I was a patient at this marvellous facility. Nurses and Doctors are superb.
A year ago***** My surgeon was wonderful. Unfortunately She left on holiday the next day. From the evening after surgery on, was the worst experience I’ve ever had. I’m a woman over 50, and have had approximately 11 different major surgeries (kidney, colon, uterus)etc. I know my pain tolerance. The nurses are horrible and inconsiderate. My surgery lasted about 8hrs, and was much more complicated than originally thought. My pain was intense as the organs try to readjust because my doctor also had a ton scar tissue to remove from previous surgeries. They continued to give me dilauded which does not work on me. I requested a different pk like morphine to no avail. Staples across my whole belly and still leaking when a nurse started to remove them 2 days later. I was actually crying 4 days. If you hit the call button, they say someone will be right there and 1.5 hours later someone does. Still in pain because of useless pain meds. A 21 year old LPN named Sidney told me that I was previously taking Percocet at high doses so they won’t give me something else but diluaded and keep lowering the doses because the pain is in my head . I requested to speak to the doctor on call. She came back a few hours later and gave me 15 mg of Zopiclone. That dosage has been discontinued due to death. Told me to lift my tongue to show I took it.(put it on the roof of my mouth). Spit it out when she left. That’s all I remember until 2days later at home. My husband said I called to come get me, he said I could barely walk, talk or keep my eyes open, yet they let me leave. If AHS had medical malpractice laws
The staff and the ultrasound clinic are incredible. The wait times are unfortunately absolutely ludicrous.
It was wonderful they are gave us best service in the world my baby born 29 may what they did for my wife i will remember my all life thanks for everything
Waiting to get an ultrasound with my wife we show up early and we were told there's an hour and a half wait then we were told it's another 2.5 hrs after waiting that long. They have signs everywhere saying there is over 300 no shows last month and by the way things are operated here i am surprised it's not more than that very dissapointed in the health system here and how a very pregnant woman is forced to sit in a very uncomfortable waiting room to be looked after.
Spent the night here with a pregnancy concern. Had interactions with a variety of nurses and residents and they were all absolutely incredible. Considerate, calming and helpful. Only 4 stars due to a very long wait to see a doctor (but I understand they need to be with top priority patients- which I will appreciate when I'm in labor).
Five months ago, I gave birth to my first baby in this hospital ,the experience was great. Doctors and nurses were kind and take well care of me and my baby. It is the best hospital to give birth .
Expect to wait literally 5+ hours past your scheduled appointment.
I got my first boy at here. We’ ve arrived at hospital 12 15am and my wife delivered my boy at 4:30am . Everything was smooth. Especially every staff ive met at postpartum center(3east) in robinson pavilion building are angels.. thank you so much for taking care of my boy and wife..
Fantastic! Our baby was born here. The staff are amazing. They really took care of us. We have nothing but good things to say.
I delivered my daughter here yesterday and the staff was wonderful. All the doctors, nurses and student nurses/doctors took excellent care of me and made me feel comfortable.
Came to this place for a fetal echo. My appointment was at 10 am. I waited over 1.5 hour & still waiting. I understand delays and waiting is to be expected but this is getting ridiculous!
Was admitted on April 8th, had my son on the 9th, and was discharged on the 10th. Having pretty mixed feelings about my experience. Came in having extremely painful contractions and an older lady at the front desk was asking about my address and such. Couldn't talk during contractions and had to squat on the floor, which resulted in her getting very huffy and rolling her eyes. Finally got to the assessment area where I ended up writhing in pain for a long while until I was finally given something to help my pain until I could get an epidural. Also had to be covid tested and isolated because I threw up shortly before delivering the baby..dude I've been in labor for 16 hours and have significant amounts of pain meds and such being pumped through me, how did you expect me to NOT puke? Was also slightly irked that the only thing I was given for pain after delivery was ibuprofen...you'd think having a ripped open taint would warrant something a bit better than Advil...however all of the postpartum nurses were awesome and quick to get me whatever I needed and were very helpful with any questions/concerns I had
The experience I had delivering my daughter got completely ruined by my doctor DR TATARYN ! Beware of her ladies she is a complete witch and miserable human being. Also the nurses were very slow and did not want to help me much at all. They kept saying my pain was normal for just giving birth ( I gave birth very fast within 2 hours of getting to the hospital ) when I got home from the hospital I felt very ill still . So I had to leave my baby with my mom so I could go to emergency and they diagnosed me with an infection and put me on 3 different antibiotics! It was very clear the doctors / nurses did not care about my health after I delivered. In addition right after my daughter was born ( 15 minutes after ) my doctor dr tataryn walked in and said “ take your shirt off you need to feed the baby “ and I said “ no I have told you this whole pregnancy that I want to formula feed I do not want to breast feed at all ) and she LOST IT on me and my boyfriend ( also my mom was in the room ) we were all in shock ! She refused to give me formula. It was absolutely horrifying . I obviously started crying. Also every appointment I had with her I felt VERY judged and like I was doing wrong. She’s a very judgmental person and speaks rudely. My friend works at this hospital and she told me that tataryn has a very bad reputation with all the nurses , doctors and patients. I am definitely going to pursue legal action against this hospital. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR I WARN YOU
Expect a long long wait for the maternal medicine even with an appointment you will waif 2-4 hours.
Thank you so much for all the kindness and support today! I went in for a day surgery, never had one before and was pretty nervous. All of the staff (nurses, anesthesiologist, doctors) were super kind and comforting! I really appreciate you making my experience easy!
I had the most amazing experience ever delivering my baby here. Every single nurse was amazing, sweet & pleasant.
Delivered both my babies here, most recent was September 2021. The care my baby and I received were exceptional, especially during the pandemic. I did have a cold when I was admitted so I was considered “isolation” but I never felt that impacted the care I received. I’m so appreciative of the staff with helping me have a safe delivery, despite how quick and crazy it all went. I’m so grateful for all the nurses and drs we have at this hospital!
Always at least an hour and a half behind schedule. Even when you call ahead not even an hour before your appointment and ask they say they're on time and everythings good until you get there and they are behind at least an hour and a half again.
Friendly, Sweet, caring~~
I have mixed feelings. Labour and delivery are great. Expect I don’t like how you deliver in one room then move to a ward kit always private even if you request it. During Covid we shared rooms and it was very nerve wrecking. I had an awful experience with my third child during this time.
Wait time is very very long…
Smokers every day at the hospital entrances/exits endangering the health of the public and staff. There is no enforcement of the No Smoking on the property rule. Spraying a fire extinguisher in the face of the smokers is the only thing that would stop them?
We have to go monthly for ultrasounds this pregnancy. And I have to say that they are being amazing. Yes sometimes the wait is a little bit longer but it is so so so worth it. They are so thorall and never make us feel rushed whatsoever. Great great experiences overall!
The best ...
The prenatal assessment staff was amazing along with my 2 students in my delivery room, the doctor on the other hand was a joke I was 10 centimeters dilated full faced and was having d cells, (which if you don't know is when your baby oxygen and hard rate are very low and your baby is in distress.) Refused to give me a c-section, when my son was born he was purple and had his umbilical cord wrapped three times around his neck. If there is any problem with my son due to lack of oxygen to his brain I will be sewing.
