REVIEWS OF Leduc Community Hospital IN Alberta

The few times I have been the staff have been great, kind and caring. It's nice to have a local hospital with that small town feel unlike the big city. Thank you Leduc Hospital Staff, you are all so appreciated for all you do for our community. Blessings!

Beth Blackstock

Two stars rather than one, because I was in and out very quickly. I was literally the only one in the waiting room, but I'm fairly certain the reason for that is because the general public knows that this is an unpleasant hospital to go to. Run down and dirty smears on the floors and chairs, boxes of supplies everywhere, ripped signage all over the walls - clearly not looked after. Rude receptionist, grouchy admittance nurse, and a doctor that needs courses on how to communicate in a respectful manner. Actually it's something all night staff should look into, if you want my opinion, which you probably do since you're reading my review. I broke my foot three days ago. I am wearing an aircast, and I brought my x-rays with me incase they'd want to take a look at them. It's obvious it's broken, and it's obvious I'm in a decent amount of pain. I'm so glad I had my boyfriend come into the room with me - if I had been alone the doctor would have walked all over me. He accused me of having a pain pill addiction and tried to trap me into admitting it, which I didn't, because I don't. I let him know I have an appointment with my family doctor on Friday, so I just needed enough pain control to get me to then. He told me he was legally only allowed to prescribe me five Tylenol 4s, so I said thank you and let him know that I'd be back in two days for five more. Suddenly he was able to give me 20. He then said he normally only prescribes Advil for broken bones, which blew my mind as Advil is the last thing you should take for a broken bone as it impedes healing. From Google: "All non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory medications, including ibuprofen, block the production of prostaglandins, which are chemicals made by the body to help the healing of broken bones. When these chemicals are blocked, bone healing can be delayed." Anyway, after accusing me of being a drug seeker, trying to trick me into admitting it, and making me feel very judged and stigmatized, I can confidently say I'd much prefer waiting four hours at a hospital with friendly and knowledgeable staff than the 30 minute wait at the joke of what is Leduc Hospital. I don't think anyone there likes each other. It felt like I was at an awkward family dinner where no ones likes one another and speak as little as possible, doing their best just to get through it so they can leave the place they hate being the most in the world.

The ER was a freaking joke! I was in the worse pain in my life and the triage nurse wouldn't even look at me. They refused to let my husband in to support me. But yet let other spouses in. I sat in the waiting room for 3 hours and realized I could die there and no one would notice. Disgusting!!! Once in a room, I sat there for hours on end listening to the nurses chat it up like it was Saturday night at BPs. They couldn't even give me a simple blanket or sheet to cover myself from the cold blowing air. I have seriously had better care in a 3rd world country. There is no good reason for this disgusting treatment.

Matthew Giesbrecht

Ignorant staff, with zero care for their patients. Not sure how this hospital is still running considering most people in leduc and surrounding area avoid it like the plague. Everytime I've gone in the staff is always rude and if you ask for the slightest things they just huff and puff like you ruined their day. Wait time are also atrocious. If you want a good quality hospital consider going elsewhere cause this place isn't it.

Sweet Pea

Rude receptionist or she's just being racist.

I was rushed to emergency after I passed out in the washroom & couldn't get up!! I dragged myself to my nearest phone & called 911 & paramedics came & brought me to Emergency where I was well treated by most of the staff! I didn't realize what a bad shape I was in until this happened when I was admitted to the hospital from Emergency!! Most of your nurses are amazing & caring & treated me very well during my stay!! As in all things, of course there were a couple of nurses who either were burned-out or/uncaring & made things difficult for me but they were as small minority (2 or 3)! There have been many changes of course over the years & I was surprised to learn that helping a patient get up is done differently (no longer patient arm holding onto nuses's upper arm) as one meek nurse forceably pointed out (I think she was scared) which was a great surprise to me!! I think she needs to learn how to tactfully explain things to patients because we seniors don't necessarily know how things have changed!! Also I was surprised to learn that the hospital only have a CT specialist during daytime hours & has no one on staff for the off hours; not even on an oncall basis!! Because of this I had to endure a nightmare ride from Leduc to Edmonton Grey Nun hospital & back which just made me feel worse (the paramedics that brought me there & back were very kind & did the best they could but the roads were awful!!)!! This is something that should be fixed (not all CT scans can be limited to daylight hours; there are emergency cases!!)!! It was an eye-opening experience for me & thankfully I now receive the home care I need as well as now carry a Lifeline pendant so that I never have to go through that horrible experience again!! I want to emphasize how terrific most of your nurses are & how much they helped me during my stay!! Believe me they earn every single penny they get and more!!! They have to handle some pretty terrible things; they're heroes to me!! I was in such a fragile state & for the first time kind of scared & felling so vulnerable & that was new for me!! I've gone through a lot (accidents, surgeries, etc) but have always been so independent but this experience changed everything for me!!! The toughest period for me was when I left the hospital & waiting to get the help (home care) I needed!! I assumed I would automatically be registered to get home care ASAP but that was not the case!! Other than that, I only have high praise for your nurses/staff!! We are lucky to have such a beautiful, modern hospital with a great staff & I am grateful for everything!!!

Angels abound at Leduc Hospital. This past October my brother almost drank himself to death. He was taken by ambulance to the Leduc Hospital in comatose condition and was there for 16 days. Today marks his 66th day of sobriety. He would never have made it without the kindness, sometimes tough love, and excellent care he received. From the bottom of my heart, I thank the staff who looked after my beloved brother. I met most of you and want you to know about this miracle, one you had a hand in, and how very grateful I am. Merry Christmas! ❤️????

Machita

1 star is too many. Nurses are horrible. Doctors couldn't care less. Its not safe here. Stay away!

Lance Wolfe

Family quick emergency, decent amount of hospital equipment. I just with they delivered in Leduc and don't know why they don't?

Jordan Altizer

Absolute worst! ER front desk says “ring bell if no ones at desk” but there is no bell. Took almost 30 minutes for a nurse to even notice we were waiting there...when she came she was rude. Not the first time I’ve experienced these rude nurses either...it’s an every time occurance. The wait times are absolutely insane...I don’t understand or know what doctors do behind the scenes but I feel like things could be run a bit better especially for being and ER. I understand sometimes you have to wait a while...but I had to leave because I was alone with my 3 young kids and there was no way I could wait 3 +hours in the waiting room in the middle of the night.

Harry Dhillon

One of worst medical staff working in that hospital we were there for 5 hours in the emergency room at the end we walked out when I asked the RN how long it’s gonna be she was so rude say qoute don’t ask me how long it’s gonna be dr Will get there when he get there. So we walked out of there don’t go there people they don’t wanna see you at all it’s waste of time you better off somewhere else in Edmonton.

Charlene Ashton

Amazing staff!! Very thorough. For me with horrible back pain the longest wait was in the waiting room, but while I was there two emergency patients came in. Once it was my turn the longest i waited was for the back surgeon to return the call for a consultation. I was kept comfortable and treated very well.

Ishan B

Staff was great, very kind and easy going. Also, Dr. Durand did my ACL recon surgery and the guy is a CHAMP. So far everything went well and recovery is going well too. Would definately recommend Dr. Durand for knee/leg related surgeries.

MiticaV

Had nose surgery June 1.2021. Staff were friendly and caring, from the nurse to the surgeon. Maybe others had bad experience from reading the posts, but mine was good.

Scott Jenkins

no doubt like others have said, the wait time is extensive & the waiting room could do with an extention in size but that being said the staff here are very attentive, caring & funny.. good job to those on the front line & behind the scenes, god knows they don't paid enough for all they're hard work, keep it up.

Van Life

Awesome Nurses, Doctors and hospital staff! Highly recommended from a Healthcare expert

Jagdeep Kaur

Terrible experience with this hospital last night. My brother stayed on emergency bed for 2.5 hours without getting any relieved my pain level. Apathetic care. I was asked to go home in pain. Ow I’ll not recommend anyone to go there when you are in acute pain because they don’t understand the pain scale.

Sam Lindskoog

Great care, 3 hours after I got there. The wait was long and I still got in before a dying sickly old lady and a boy with his leg bent the wrong way at the knee cap. And I had a sprained foot!

Chantel Elliott

Went to the Leduc Hospital Saturday after work.. waiting for an hour and a half because I had numerous infected mosquito bites. They told me to try Benedryl after an hour of waiting. Went to shoppers Pharmacist recommended Benedryl and Cortisone creme. The next day infected spots where almost thr size of my calf. When to wetaskiwin hospital at midnight on Sunday and the doctor was worried and now I'm on my 3rd day of IV. Thanks for nothing leduc hospital. Drive to Wetaskiwin or Devon.

Janelle Verbruggen

Bad

MrSmashmonkey

3 times in 15 years and always 4 nurses standing around talking and laughing with no concern for anyone in the waiting room

William Burgess

I always go here for blood work, they also took pretty good care of my Dad.

SpyderAByte

Came into Emerg room after being pulled into a saw They had me wait long enough for a decent amount of the wound to heal so when they have to go back in and pick out debris theyll have to tear it all apart again. Whole time I can here doctors and nurses hanging around and laughing rather than doing their job. It literally would have been faster to drive to the UofA or something

sara marzoff

HORRIBLE! I don't even rate this hospital one star..the staff in emerge are all really rude..the wait time is horrible and they treat you like crap...I witness them being rude to an elderly patient who I was in a room with..I had to ask for water three times without a response ...then I finally seen the dr and he gave me ice chips...thanks...very disorganized and all the staff are young and don't seem to know what they are doing...never will go here again

Disappointing.

Cole Glynn

I had a 3 hour drive from out of town to come in for day surgery. This was my first experience at this hospital and after reading some of the other horrible reviews here I wanted to say absolutely everyone who looked after me treated me with the upmost level of care and professionalism. Thank you so much Leduc Community Hospital, Dr. Cooper and the amazing health care professionals who work there. I I have nothing but positive things to say and my recovery is going much better than I hoped for thanks to you guys.

Jack Kramer

Other than the person at the front door checking for Covid signs, everyone was very nice. All the nurses and Doctors were extremely friendly and informative. I would definitely go back and will if I need to go to a Hospital.

Silas Peters

Waiting times are ridiculous. Don't go here. Go to Edmonton.

Swifty Filmz

Worst place I’ve ever been to. My girlfriend stumbled over 2 words and they treated her like she was a criminal , would rate 0 stars if it was a option workers are definitely there for the paycheque and not focused helping people

Lina I

Friendly staff. I was out of there in 1:30 hours. Thank you!

Mother Zombie

Might as well die at home instead of their waiting room

Mark'n Alberta

This place is a nightmare. The ladies guarding the door are very rude.

Tamam Al Waeer

(Translated) I had my mumps tumor removed. The nurses are very kind and caring. I thank the wonderful doctor Dan O'Connell for his care and accuracy in my surgery, and I thank the anesthesiologist and all the medical staff ❤❤❤❤❤ (Original)

I would like to say... SHAME on you Leduc Hospital.. My husband was rushed there by the EMS via ambulance and yet you guys still put him on a wheel chair in the emergency department waiting room to sit there for 4 hours to wait for Dr. Lily Chen to take a look at him. After all that, she discharged him home after 3 hours with a prescription of zofran so he would stop throwing up.. my honest opinion of Dr. Lily Chen is she is inexperienced and lacks critical knowledge. Long story short, he is now admitted at the Grey Nuns and is being taken better care of than this lousy hospital. I would never recommend anyone to go to this hospital let alone the emergency department. Alberta Health Services need to do better.

Rizaldy Prado

Never go to this hospital. worst service ever.(waited for 4 and half hours).

RICHARD BOGACH

They did a very good job of social distancing when you first arrive. Then they cram everyone into a tiny waiting room where there is no way to social distance. Shame on a hospital for disrespecting peoples safety.

RALI ALI

After waiting 3 hours in the room left because the Doctor was too busy with some other patients.

Debbie Mueller

I can't say enough good about this hospital. Was a little concerned when I read some of the reviews, but the staff here are outstanding, right from triage, to admitting to the nursing staff and Dr. Balko. The wait time was real quick and they are super efficient and thorough. Best experience by far that I've ever had a hospital. Thank you so much to everyone at the Leduc Hospital

Bernice Luard

Was at the Leduc Hospital last evening for a chest xray and CT Scan. This was done very promptly and efficiently. Staff very friendly.

Hezekiah Peter

Really hate to make a good review of this horrible hospital but our nurse Jackie took care of mom today and made a difference in her life for the first time ever. God bless.

susan michaud

If i could rate a zero i would.Worst hospital i have ever been in. Rude staff. Went day 1 with torn achilles heel waited 10.5 hours. Called in 3 people. Most walked out. Went back day 2 told it would be 2 hours. 5 hours in later told would be hours and hours to get seen. 1 doctor on both days. DO NOT GO THERE.

donna kowal

Took my husband for day surgery. The nurses there were professional, patience, friendly and personable. A bonus is " free" parking at this hospital . It is too bad their gift shop does not have fresh coffee to buy. The nearest place is Mc Donalds which is a short 5 min walk.

Kenzie Hooper

I came here from out of town in late December. I was brought in via ambulance as I was hardly able to walk when I got off the plane. Jacqueline who was working in emerg was absolutely AMAZING. She took amazing care of me and had me feeling better and discharged within four hours! I am eternally grateful for this hospital visit as my visits in my hometown have yet to be this wonderful.

Tanya Tsielos

Would like to thank the staff at the leduc emergency hospital...for their great friendly service from the time you walk in until we left...

Dan Lovelace

What a joke several hours waiting plus and only called up to check blood with waiting room full and the doctors making jokes in back nurse station having a laugh I'd reccomend taking your own life then go here they wont help nothing

Wayne Loustel

Had a trip to the hospital in the ambulance August 20, had great sevice from both, unfortunately they did not find anything wrong with me and I ended up getting another ride inan ambulance in Calgary on the 22nd where i got diagnosed with Labyrinthitis and Vestibular Neuritis by nurse Kelly. Thanks to all for the service.

Rabia Jahangir

The worst service I have experienced in the emergency ward! Third world countries serve exceptional service compared to Canada! What a shame! They have free health care but poor service and delivery and long wait times! If you care about Canadians then you guys need to employ more healthcare staff and doctors!

Zack Beriault

Would like to thank this horrible hospital for the 13 seperate times i went there and they found nothing and just did the same tests over and wouldnt give the the tests i had asked for, went to devon and got in instantly and it took them t minutes to find out what was wrong eith me, to think i wasted so many hours on this place. HIGHLY RECCOMEND NOT COMING HERE FOR YOUR HEALTH, GO TO DEVON

Melissa Donaldson

My husband cut his forearm open yesterday and asked me to take him to the hospital. We both agreed that although Leduc Hospital was a bit further than another, it would be well worth it. He was triaged, in to see the nurse to clean, then the doctor for 19 stitches and finally another nurse for a tetanus shot and care instructions in just under 2 hours. The nurses and doctor were amazing. Keep up the good work.

Heidi Parsons

Ladies in the Lab and CT Scans are absolutely wonderful! The lady at the front desk for the CT scans goes above and beyond, is exceptionally friendly and professional. The male technician that administers the IV injection before the scan is super gentle and absolutely amazing at his job. The ladies in the lab are very gentle and give an excellent needle!!

Ebony Frank

Rudest emergency room ever. Treated my husband like garbage when he was having heart issues. Went in, they put him in a wheel chair due to dizziness and rolled him away into "isolation" and faced him to the wall and left him there. He felt like he was going to get sick and called out for help, no one came to help. They don't care about the patients and treat them like a nuisance rather than a patient who is seeking help. I understand being short staffed and the stress but jeez again. 0 stars,

K M

Drive the extra kms to go into edmonton. No matter how short the wait is, do not waste your time here. The nurses were absolutely incapable of being polite and the doctor was far worse. Dr. Chaudhry lacked care and compassion and even the basics of truly explaining herself and her reasoning. For a small hospital that was unbelievably slow, she had me wait 2.5 hours for her to show up and send me away in a few moments.

Chris R

This hospital has to be the worst health care facility for gross negligence, unprofessionalism and respect for another human being I have ever seen! Working in the health care industry I can appreciate how hectic things can be. There is no excuses for the disregard for human care and compassion this facility demonstrates! I wouldn't even take my dog or my worst enemy to this place! This is not new news, its been years of this and no one seems to care how undeniably rude, uncompassionate, neglectful, the people who work here are! AHS needs to get their act together and clean house get rid of the toxic trash that contaminates this environment and start employing people who actually care about their jobs and the people they are taking care of! The lack of communication between the doctors and nurses is disturbing and not to mention the complete neglect of the patient they are supposed to be caring for. Willing to provide multiple examples upon request. Completely unacceptable #LeducCommunityHospital

Rachel

I wish I could rate the nursing staff and doctors separately! The nursing staff is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! They went above and beyond for my 8 month old twice! However Dr. Jonathan Wong has NO bedside manners. Questioning why we didn't bring him in, then questioning why we were bringing him in, then when I showed him a video of my son's breathing he showed concern. Only to then say "actually it's nothing" he was SO rude. He is very inexperienced and lacks knowledge with children. After getting our results I called our pediatrician for a second opinion because I didn't trust Dr. Wong at all! Hopefully we don't get him if we have to go back.

Lionel Parie

Wife was treated in ER staff friendly tests done in and out in 5 hrs.

R C

Had to quit my job here because of harassment from Raphael Herbst. Was harassed and stalked by my coworker, HR did nothing but give him a vacation and make me cover his on call. Whole time I'm supposed to be taking a course at nait and pretending this psycho isn't a massive problem.

Lola L

Wait time said 30 minutes. We drove from downtown Edmonton out there because of this. I even thought if they say 30 min, it would be an hour. We waiting over 2 hours and still no doctor. There was no one, NO ONE in the waiting room besides us. I don't think there was even a doctor on duty! The only people I saw walking around was the janitor, security guard and 2 nurses.

Dakota B

Went a couple weeks ago to emerge with my 5yr old and almost 8yr old. My 5yr old she had an ear infection. Just over an hour and a half waiting to get in and then another 30-40mins waiting for a doctor to see her. It was not super busy that night. Lots of beds open and lots of staff standing around. Anyway doctor finally came in and looked at her ear. After briefly reading her file and asking me if she has allergies I said she cannot have any ammoxicillan or penicillan both my kids have severe allergies. What does the doctor do????? Writes her a medication I have filled the next day and Co Op pharmacy where my pharmacist as soon as she looked at it said my daughter is not getting it bcuz it has ammoxicillan in it!!!!!! She said if it were filled and my daughter drank it she would of had an allergic reaction big time. Not cool!!!!!!!

Phil Kim

Brother was in the ER for severe stomach pain. He was moaning as he was in a lot of pain. The nurse told him he has to be quiet or he’ll get kicked out. We were so frustrated we didn’t even get her name. Now I regret so much for not making an official complaint to the college… A person like that shouldn’t be working in healthcare..

Brea H

I honestly think this hospital should be shut down. I've never in my life had a good experience here. I've had doctors give me the wrong medication, I've had nurses treat me like garbage, and the last time I was there I was in for a drug overdose after being slipped GHB at a bar. I've never taken/done drugs in my life, but apparently because I'm young that's impossible. They left me on the waiting room floor in such bad condition that the other patients in the waiting room asked why they weren't taking me in. When they finally did, I was refused help after being questioned multiple times about my drug use. I was put in a private room and had multiple nurses come in to question me about my history of marijuana/cocaine use even though I've never, NEVER touched anything. They refused to listen to me and thought I was trying to cover up for myself. Finally, I was given a doctor, Dr. Michael Orth (who conveniently has a 1/5 rating on Rate MDs). He prescribed me antibiotics (without any proof of any kind of bacterial infection) and told me that even if I had been drugged it was my OWN FAULT FOR BEING A CARELESS WOMAN. More recently than that, my father was admitted with a proximal fibular head fracture and sent home without anything. No cast, no medication, nothing, just sent home where he had to wait DAYS for an MRI. Luckily, I'm well studied in human osteology so I know how incredibly dangerous this can be. Putting any pressure on a fracture like that is a horrible idea, and if the fibular nerve is severed my father could lose all feeling in that foot and leg. We're STILL waiting for that MRI and his leg isn't even cast, it's just wrapped up. Insane. This hospital is rife with malpractice and I'd sooner take a knife to the side than have to go back there. Michael Orth, especially, I would strongly recommend against seeing unless you feel like a lecture on how women are at fault for everything men do. If your life is in danger and you're being forced there against your will, I guess that's a reason to go. Any other situation, suffering is probably a better choice.

Erica Millar

By far the worst hospital I've experienced!

Susan

Horrible staff. I came in for an appointment and went to admittance. I got attitude from the front desk because they had to update my information. Then I was redirected to 3 separate places because no one new where I needed to go. They called my doctor and realized where I needed to go but at that point they couldn’t see me because of how late it was. I later got a phone call from the technician blaming me for not knowing anything even though I called the day before to see if there were any requirements for my appointment. This hospital is so unprofessional it’s a joke.

Ni Na

Apparently describing your symptoms to NURSES is to MUCH FOR THEIR MENTAL HEALTH. LIKE WHY THE F, did you go to nursing school? What did you expect? You were going to hold peoples hands and give them water? If people are concerned about their health, a nurse should be caring and compassionate, you're not paid to treat patients like doctors are - you're paid to take care of them! Poor service, poor management, ZERO compassionate nurses and doctors. I was the only person in emergency, still took 1.5 hours to see me, look at my scalp and offer the wrong prescription. They were great at running me out of there.

Lee-Ann Jeffrey

Had shoulder surgery on April 15th. Top notch staff and couldn't have asked for better.

Johnny Stene

it would be faster to get your own medical degree and fix your own problem than it would be to wait to see a doctor here

Rodney Maze

I had a severe allergic reaction and went to the Leduc Community Hospital for treatment. The staff their were friendly and treated my condition. Would reccomend as it was much better than suffering and/or dieing.

Kaitlin Blankenau

My boyfriend and I were at emergency and the staff completely forgot about him for 4 hours. The doctors reply was "oh he was next". Meanwhile the whole emergency care department was empty. I strongly advise if you require medical attention to completely avoid the leduc community hospital. Also the staff were not as nice as in the past.

Bsc Team

Cut the tip of my finger off .. waited 4.5 hours and walked home due to it being another 2-3 hour wait .. I was bleeding Through everything they gave me and was sick of waiting. The lady at the front desk just continued to call me a baby and that 10/10 pain wasn’t something men could understand :/ all in all 0/5 is what this place really is and might be the worst hospital in Alberta!

Kayla Williams

The nurse they have at the front door is incredibly rude, unhelpful, and unknowledgeable. Trying to come in for a same day lab, explaining why I couldn't book an appointment, I was still greeted with suspicion and rudeness. Showed the nurse the lab req, hoping it would explain why. Nope. She finally lets me in to the bloodwork ladies who assure me its not expected to have an appt for this req, and its not a problem or inconvenience to them. Kudos bloodwork ladies! But that front nurse might want to brush up on her knowledge a little.

Vilma Guillen

Horrible treatment...nurses have the worst bedside manners...waited 4 hours couldn't even ask if I needed a glass of water!!

Pam D

Wow what horrible service! This is so supposed to be a health care facility?! My husband had an appointment at the lab to get bloodwork done. He had to use the bathroom first and they said no. So he waited to go into the appointment to use the bathroom and they said no again. Then they called security to get him escorted out of the hospital! So we had to drive to Beaumont to the DynaLife Lab to get bloodwork done! I have filed complaints against both security and Precision Lab Services. We are from Red Deer.

Laura W

The website says wait times are shorter than they really are ... it said 49 minutes, I waited almost three hours and still haven’t seen anyone , just lots of staff on a break

Melissa Doroshenko

Posting from experience working in emergency as well: This ED has got to be below poor. The waiting room is small and crowded which defies the purpose of physical distancing. The medicentre I went to this morning regarding my complaint referred me to go to Emerge this cold rainy day. Not to my surprise on a typical poor weather day it brings people to emerge so for something of my nature that is bleeding and requiring minor surgery Ive been waiting far too long and seen too many people with minor complaints be seen first, the triage nurse spoke loud enough that everyone’s presenting complaint was heard. I feel that breached my confidentiality after I wrote down my complaint and she spoke loud enough for the whole compact department to hear mine, disrespecting my privacy. The whole main emerge and triage should be reconsidered, I am hoping my procedure will go fine....

Dorothy Davidson

For those of us who have been treated with disrespect and rudeness by the Leduc Hospital posting your review on Leduc Hospital review site is not going to have things changed. I was told that Alberta Health Services and even the hospital itself does not read the reviews or care because it could be anyone who was or wasnt there being treated. Therefore, for our voices to be heard you must contact Alberta Health Services.ca directly by going to their web site where you can fill out an electronic email form or a phone number to call with your information. Nothing will ever be changed unless we voice our experiences, good or bad. Alberta Health Care were amazing and my mistreatment was addressed immediately and i was informed after what procedures were hopefully implemented. I hope that in addressing our concerns we make it easier for the next patient to be treated with kindness. Only together can we make changes .. one voice isnt the answer, but the voices of many can make changes for the better.

Diane Galenza

Dont bother coming to emergency. Came in with my husband who was told at Medicentre he may have blood clot. We came straight to emergency only to be waiting now for 4 hours. I guess the ones with a cough get in first. Still in waiting room. More Doctors needed.

Christina Donaghy

I purposely drove by this hospital which is right next to my house to go into Edmonton, even though my kidneys were having troubles passing a stone and I've started bleeding from everywhere imaginable, Id rather go anywhere else because the staff and wait times here are the worst. There could be 1 person waiting and it would take them 3 hours to get that person in only to be sent home with T3s by the nurse and never be seen by a Dr. Save yourself the hassle and go into Edmonton. It seems like the staff here don't care about you and would rather go about doing nothing then do their jobs.

My partner had surgery at leduc community hospital and the staff was super rude with her. From what I heard my partner was in pain and they gave her morphine and almost gave her a heart attack. They didnt know what there doing. Not all staff were bad but some were. On the way out there were a couple of staff members giving me and my partner the evil eye. Especially a native looking fat lady that I think is also.a staff member. We are going to address this to our doctor and I.dont reccomend this hospital to.anyone

I recently had day surgery, under general anesthetic, at the Leduc Hospital. From start to finish the staff were courteous, efficient and professional. The next day they phoned to check up on me.

You can't go off of ER wait times as a factor in your rating. It's a systematic problem. However I can tell you of the time my father in law was admitted to unit 21. He was a complex case of heart failure, stage four lung cancer. He was admitted due to a bowel obstruction with confusion. He was receiving laxatives and suppositories, obviously to free up the bowel obstruction. Nursing staff neglected to check on him and when we went to visit was found incontinent of feces not once but twice. When we asked the attending nurse if there was any change in his condition, when visiting one day after admission, she did not even know WHY he was admitted. We asked how his pain was doing she knew nothing. We asked to see his chart, she was astonished to find an abdominal x ray showing his bowel obstruction. She then said that he must be doing better because he had not asked for his hourly top offs of pain meds since last night. Now do you thing a confused individual is going to be able to ask? Do they even understand what is going on? On the second day of visiting when he was found in his own feces again, there was the urinal from day one still not emptied as well as a finished saline bag sitting on the window sill. Don't risk your or your loved one's health by visiting this facility! Edit: my palliative father in law was DENIED OXYGEN, even as a comfort measure because his "Oxygen saturations were 100 percent." And "who told you you could have oxygen?" This is absolutely asinine. We can't even get him transferred to another facility. UPDATE: UNBELIEVABLE! The palliative nurse practitioner was in yesterday to write orders to keep him sedated until he passes. She was VERY deliberate and specific in what she ordered. The nursing staff, Registered Nurses with 4 years of schooling and passed a licensing exam, could not follow. They were HALF DOSING his medication ALL NIGHT and in the morning! He was still awake and suffering. Drowning in his own fluid. Seriously, don't even come here to die because they can't even keep you comfortable! As a side note, they had not closed the catheter bag and the floor was covered in urine. The attending nurse told us that it was water. Even though it smelt like urine and the puddle could be traced back to the OPEN CATHETER BAG!

My grandma has been in there for 2 days and the doctor still hasn't reviewed her tests. I think they're being discriminatory based on her age as they won't just get another doctor to review her tests even tho it's an immediate issue

It’s because of hospitals like this that make people disbelieve that we are currently in a health pandemic. There is only one doctor for the entire hospital for the past two times me and my significant other have been there. The first time we were there was for her ankle and for whatever reason they thought it was appropriate to put her in a neck brace. They then left her in the room with the “help” button across the room where she had no chance of reaching it. They then left her there for about a hour to a hour and a half before anyone came here in to get her x-rays. The second and most recent time we have been there was for her IUD, it is most likely out of place however we don’t know because despite her being in there before the other patients that arrived after us and the enormous amount of pain she was in they let in the others first. We decided it would be best to make the drive out to Edmonton for a more reliable hospital. Anyone who is in a serious amount of pain I would strongly recommend going to any other hospital than this one. Thank you for whoever takes the time to read this and please for your own good. Avoid this hospital.

Worst experience ever. Reached here at 5, my two year old is sick, waited for over 5hours. Front staff are super rude and RACIST as if u came to disturb them. They need to be more professional.

Yes. Wait times are long but that's not staffs fault. Staff is very caring and proffesional

I've never had such several terrible "help ?" at Leduc hospital- unless you want to die- they should tear down the building and put in a parking lot......By the way they missed the fact the my husband had cancer and he died 3 week later, I guess it's now my turn

I came from edmonton to have surgery on an inguinal hernia. Dr Stephen was absolutely amazing. She made me feel comfortable and safe every step of the way. Unfortunately after the surgery the recovery nurse was very slow and also incredibly rude to me. She took almost two and a half hours to check my blood pressure and remove my IV before I could go home. I basically had to pack my stuff and walk out the door myself Not the way you want to be treated right after surgery, and I hope that other patients are treated with more respect then that... slightly unimpressed.

I'm kind of surprised at all the bad reviews. I just moved here from BC and had a little accident with a foot fracture and the ambulance (very expensive ambulance by the way lol) ended up taking me to this hospital. I cannot believe how friendly and caring all the staff were. Nurses and doctors are nothing like this in BC. Even the doctor was so nice he called me a couple times to make sure that I got in touch with the surgeon.

I was in severe pain, to the point of screaming and exhaustion due to lack of sleep. The triage nurse sent me away since "It's not as painful as childbirth." and labeled me a drug addict. My AMAB body will never know the real pain of childbirth, I am not an addict looking for a high. I am a person in pain looking for help. None of the staff I talked to cared about the patients.

I didn't fill a pain killer they prescribed the week before and the nurse said that was the solution to my problem. I am having severe chest pains and im naseaus. Not one single test both times i'd been there. Skip this hospital. They just give you pain killers so you leave but don't bother finding out the root cause. Its almost 3am right now. Im heading to Grey nuns tomorrow while riding out waves of pain, exhaustion and nausea in ny kitchen. Id call 911 but since im a few blocks over id be afraid they'd bring me back here. Im so livid right now and im going to lodge a complaint with Alberta health. I came in right after 1am and got home at 2:45 and never saw a doctor tonight. What a waste of time.

This hospital is a big time WASTER. I will never recommend it to anyone. It’s been over four hours of waiting. Never believe that it only takes around thirty minutes to get in. It’s fake. They take some new people before you even if you were there first. Not good at all. For your own sake I wouldn’t come

Edmonton Location

Most of the staff seem like they try. But if you're unfortunate enough to get the Hell Nurses the best advice I can offer is to leave. There is one nurse who is so horrible I would prefer to drive to Edmonton or Devon and risk my health than I would have that imbecile in charge of my health. Why would you work in health care if hate people? That's obvious from how the job is done :(

Khalid Osman

Nurse at front is a horribly rude person and they do not communicate with the patients. Just tell me it'll take 9 hours for an x-ray il go see my family doctor instead.

Marco Lol

The staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. They even called the next day to make sure things were ok !! Amazing people!! Thank you for making this easier on us.

William Agar

Wait forever and nothing to help you wait in the "waiting" room.

kyle Ferko

Nurses treat patients like absoulte garbage. Id rather drive to edmonton than be mistreated by the "ladies" here. I had a very sick 2 yearold who finally got some rest in my arms while waiting for a doctor, i get a nurse that storms in, slams the door against the wall, slams the sliding bathroom door closed so hard that it bounces back open, and storms out slamming my room door without a word. No reguards to my sick child, didnt even see the doctor before we ended up leaving due to horrid wait times and extremely rude service. These ladies need to find a new career.

The ER staff both doctors and nurses are amazing and very caring.

I was scared after reading some of the reviews going into my surgery. The nurses in the day surgery ward were efficient going in but then SO caring and considerate of my needs after. Tonsillectomys are brutal and I actually went home really better than I thought I would thanks to them. Great care.

Luvleen Hothi-Brar

Thank you to the whole staff of Leduc Hospital for taking such good care of my mom. My mom speaks no english but staff was super helpful and accommodating. Helped us through such difficult times. Except for the first triage nurse at emergency the whole staff did an amazing job. Worth travelling all the way from Edmonton. Way better care than what you get at Grey Nuns.

Travis R

I had surgery here in June 2021 and the procedure went fine and I was treated well by the surgeon on nurses assisting me. But the visiting specialist clinic part needs to do better at scheduling appointments. From my knowledge they book a bunch of people for a certain time like 9am and then treat it as first comes first serve. Check in at 8:45am for 9am appointment. To sit nearly two hours for a 2 min follow up conversation. What bothers me is sitting in a waiting room with 7-8 other patients during a 4th wave for hours at a time while other patients are having surgeries canceled due to the pandemic.

Kim Shamanski

I had DS surgery on my foot on the 4 Apr, 2019. From the moment I walked in til I was discharged the stsff was amazing. Pre op nurses were great, OR nurses amazing and post op awesome and very clear with instructions. Very impressed. Will not hesitate to go back for my next one. As well FREE PARKING can't get any better than that!!

I want to thank the nursing staff and reception in Emergency along with Dr. Lee on Friday afternoon and evening for their kind and caring treatment of us. My son passed away and we needed so much extra time to say our good byes, but they were so patient with us and let us have all the time we needed. Your kindness was so appreciated. Blessings.
