I was directed to DGH by my family Doctor , this was my first visit, upon my arrival to the emergency I expected there to be a number counter so you couldn't jump the queue but I was wrong , triage not apparent as well I won't disclose my medical issues but where alot more serious than the patients in front of me , once I was processed the nurse at reception, lab and xray technicians were very good and helpful, the Dr. was very thorough and explained to me my medical issues I was treated RX filled out and on my way home in less than 3 hours I haven't been to an emerge in decades and this experience wasn't all that bad

The Rika Show

Very very unsatisfied. I wish they had negative stars....I was scheduled for a 3:30 gestational diabetes testing by a nurse there...and I waste my time walking over there...just to be told they cannot do it....so not only did they waste my time...but I had to walk all the way back home...and being 6 months pregnant with a chance of early labor...but they didnt even bother to make a new appointment with me

Step up your service and manage your emergency room hours and listings so the public who pays for your services can be serviced.

Crazy Chick #2

Great Lab and bloodwork with friendly Allison. Take a number, get your ID Alberta Health Card out. Sanitize hands. Then they call your number. Give them the invoice. Tgen wait as you are entered into the computer. After the service sanitize hands one last time. Visit the gift shop on the way out.

I went yesterday to the EMERGENCY ROOM with my fiancée. We waited 7 hours to see a doctor and in the end didn't even see a doctor. The nurses and desk people were very rude and snobby towards us when I'd ask a question about anything. I will never go back to that hospital. I had to wait an extra day before being seen by a doctor at a completely different ER.

Waiting for my wife 15 to,3:00 people working at the hospital parking in Patient parking so no one else can.14:45 2:45??.

Alexandra Lalonde

One of the nurses extremely rude and pushy about medication I didn't want to take. Extremely long wait time I got here at 6am only person in waiting room And didn't get in until 8:30 when in pain.

It looks like a few people had a bad experience and left a very negative review. Most people have no issues but don't bother adding a review so here is one representing most experiences. I have lived here for 25 years and been to the hospital numerous times for a variety of problems, mundane and serious/scary situations. In all cases, the nurses were friendly, efficient and very helpful. The doctors know what they're doing and explain the situation well...as long as the patients are calm and explain the situation properly. I have never had anything but positive experiences here!

Shawn Light

Emergency department is lacking except in attitude.

Conner McCallum

I went to this hospital when i was sick and got sent home multiple times by one doctor. I suggest when going there to ask to not get Dr. Prince. otheer wise the are very good doctors. i suggest going here

char bazinet

The emergence desk staff are very rude better off driving to Leduc

Faisal Gillani

Good place atleast less waiting time then Edmonton handy staff

Amanda Crewe

Would give zero if I could. My husband was taken there via ambulance for extreme back pain. They just pumped him full of pain killers and made him take a few steps. He expressed he was starting to experience numbness in his foot and leg the drs just said "that's wierd" and sent him home because he was able to take a step with crutches He was still in extreme pain as the hospital drugs wore off. We called 811, she looked at the report from this hospital and said it was the shortest emergency report she had ever seen and she advised u of a immediately based on his symptoms They did an MRI immediately and took him in for emergency surgery as he had a herniated disc bulging and compressing his nerves. The drs at U of A were very concerned this wasn't addressed more seriously especially since his symptoms elevated while in Devon hospital. Due to the negligence and not taking his symptoms seriously he might not regain full function of his leg that was experiencing numbness.

Do not go to this hospital. The nurses and doctors could care less about anyone there and will be treated as an inconvenience to their lives. I never go to the hospital, unless there’s something very concerning. I Waited almost 4 hours because of a concern about unexpected nausea and blood in my vomit. When I finally see the doctor he says “I don’t know what you really want me to do, this is an emergency hospital and deal with acute problems” I guess blood in vomit is of no concern and completely normal so just go to a walk in clinic if that occurs.

took my son there after he fell skateboarding and dr looked like a cleaning staff memeber.. he was misdiagnosed and at the stollery where wait times were horriffic. i was apalled to find out he had broken his humurous bone and needed to be in a a cast for 3 months.. caught in time and he healed properly and still skateboarding.. wont go there again even tho the wait time was 30 mins.

Derek Nipshank

What a terrible experience.

Angie Smith

Took my daughter in for an allergic reaction to a bee sting, the staff was excellent with her and myself. Doctor and nurses were awesom. I have been here multiple times with my husband as well and we have never had a bad experience here. They are fast, efficient and professional. I drive out of my way to go to Devon hospital.

Zach Dietrich

Ignorant nurses and doctors. Need to show more care, and actually study and understand a patients medical records and history, instead of treating based on only the questions they ask patients before entering the ER. Doctor was very rude and condescending. I would rather drive to the U of A from spruce grove than deal with these ignorant people again. They pumped me full of pills but yet I still have the same emergency problem that I came there for. Sad.

germain mah

Dislocated my thumb yesterday playing basketball ball. Came to the emergency at about 930pm was out of there by 1115pm. The staff was great and Dr. Princ re-alligned my thumb with little to no discomfort. Great hospital experience!

Peggy Howard

Had a dr. Who didn't call the transplant unit at the u of a for medication s that I can't have. The new young nurses are better than the older one's

Teri Jane

Besides the princely doctor, I have always had amazing care here. Usually quicker than leduc.

kimberly

This is not a walk in clinic. Came in with a walking cast and crutches and they would not see me to review my xrays to verify if my foot was broken or not.

Miriam Abbas

Always helpful, friendly and caring with appropriate diagnosis. Shorter wait time. Best hospital in the area.

Anmoldeep Bhullar

The doctor i went to see was careless and was frustrated at me for wasting his time. Their emergency is a joke. I would rather drive to Edmonton than here

Bon Jovie

Your operator was very rude! Just clarifying something and then she hang up on me. Just called Today Dec. 16,2021 @10:05AM. At her attitude it’s shown that Calgarian is more friendlier than other town in Alberta. Feel sorry dor her.

Rebekah Abbas-Nejad

I've been to the Devon Hospital a few times, and they have overall been very kind, accommodating, and timely to the best of their ability. I definitely felt cared for while I was there. Despite one frustrating experience, I can honestly say I much prefer Devon Hospital over any other in the area where wait times are long and staff are disinterested or apathetic. The majority of staff here seem to genuinely care about the patients they see.

Melissa Szott

Extremely long wait time. And there is literally nobody in the waiting room of emergency. ????

Braeden Collins

Witnessed terrible treatment by the doctor working the after hours clinic. Showed no sympathy, was rude and forceful while the patient showed excruciating pain. This service was a joke and the doctor needs to be evaluated.

Thyra Marleau

No excuse for letting an infant who came in for a fall down the stairs wait in a waiting room for hours in pain before getting around to noticing she had a broken femur! Save yourself some time and go to the Stollery where professionals can help you!

Ronald Storrs

Went in having intense chest pain and couldn't breath. After triage they put me in the waiting room and told me if it got worse to let them know. I ended up worse so go back in they hook me up to an ECG everything looks good, they check my blood sugar and they look good. Doctor comes in after an hour of me laying there in pain and tells me I have bruising on the tissue around my right lung. Gave me naproxen and told me to rest. Woke up the next morning in worse pain went to a different hospital and ended up admitted for 2 weeks with fluid developing around my right lung. The Devon doctor didn't even order X-rays or anything like that and just guessed!!

Jasper Lee

Everybody we met in the hospital is so nice, the doctor even call us back the third day to folling how you kid feel. We prefer to be here instead of Hospital in Edmonton whenever we need to see doctor, or emergency

Shayna Miles

4.5 stars for the staff in the Emergency Department.

Brett Schneider

So I'm in a wheelchair, haven't eaten all day. I ask the triage nurse if someone could help me out to my car so I could get some money for a snack. Her response was "I don't know how to help you" How about, you push me back up this massive Hill because IM IN A WHEELCHAIR. Then she starts lecturing me about how it's busy and it will be my turn when it's my turn and I just have to wait... I didn't say anything about the wait I was asking for help so I could eat. She did not even listen to my question and it was so insulting. I've been here for 4 hours and I'm asking for some help. Finally the security guard helped me because the triage nurse absolutely refused to even listen to me. Didn't give me anything for the pain and I had to walk back out to my car afterwards. I still can't walk and they did not help me at all. If you can't listen to patients and treat them like human beings, you should not work in a hospital.
