Sat here for over 6 hours in the waiting room with my eye on fire talked to over 7 nurses asking if they could give me something to help with the pain and they said “i will have someone see you shorty” but yet I’m still hear with a swollen eye that’s burning and half my face num but no help they had 3 people go into rooms in the 6 hours I was here it’s like there’s no doctor in this hospital

The amount of times I’ve gone to this hospital and have been treated absolutely horribly. I had reoccurring tonsillitis and they kept doing nothing about it until I went to Bonnyville and the doctor was shocked I wasn’t referred to a specialist to get them removed. Which he then did. I was also having digestive issues and 3 times cold lake hospital told me nothing was wrong and I was just fat and overweight (I weighed 150 pounds and I’m 5’7) finally went to bonnyville and they told me had I of waited any longer I would of went septic and died as infections were spreading throughout my organs. They don’t know how to treat patients, my friend also went in with severe pain they told her she was over reacting sent her away she had to come in 2 hours later and needed emergency surgery as her appendix ruptured.

So many bad problems here, I went to get a pregnancy test done and the doctor got mad and blamed me for making him pay 500 for a pregnancy test that was negative yet all mine were positive and i did end up pregnant. Now I had a c section and its been almost 3 months now, I've been nonstop bleeding and they haven't been doing anything about it. Worst hospital ever. Never going here for anything ever again.

The worst healthcare I've ever recieved has been at this hospital. Doctor failed to treat a simple infection and caused me to have other health problems down the road. I went to another clinic and told them what happened and they were flabbergasted at their incompetence. Go somewhere else if you can or get second opinions after!!

This hospital would make you believe your in a third world country with uneducated practitioners. Went in because I broke my foot. They took x-rays, didn't show me them, told me foot is fine and I can keep working and to just walk on my heel. I still couldn't walk after a week. Went to BONNYVILLE HOSPITAL and found out my bones in my foot are broken completely in half and I need surgery asap and can't work for three months. Thanks Cold Lake. Once again you did an outstanding job.

My experience at this hospital, is quite possibly the worst hospital I have ever seen. Exteme Misinformation, rude nurses, doctors that are never there, and prescribe a delusional patient things they don't understand without consenting the family what so ever. Lack of care or compassion.. I am not a person to normally write negative reviews. But if you have the ability to go to Edmonton. Do so, we are transferring our mother to Edmonton because there is nothing being done or passed on. An Absolutely awful experience. Minus a couple very nice nurses 70% of your experience will be horrendous.

The Cold Lake Hospital staff, technicians, nurses & physicians are professional, capable, caring & absolutely splendid. The degree of care for my Dad is superior and I thank everyone involved. Often times people doing their jobs to the best of their ability face the public who are vulnerable, scared, irritated, under the influence etc. This hospital has provided my Dad the best of care on each visit related to his age related health concerns. It is a treasure to have this Facility and it people ready, willing and able to provide the best possible care to the citizens in the Lakeland Area. Cardiac care, pain management, blood testing, scans, radiology, food service, admitting & ER triage departments are well run, courteous, professional and highly responsive. A true gem in AHS.

I've had so many horrible experiences here. Especially being a native young woman. Treated with disrespect, and rudeness. There was only one doctor who treated me good. She's a female with a soft voice and an accent. She was heaven sent. The rest of the staff and other doctor's were just gross and disrespectful honestly ????.

Took my son to the e.r because I suspect there was something stuck in his throat. They said he had strep throat and put him on antibiotics, his test came back negative and he was getting treated for something we don't even know what it was he had all the symptoms of covid so I don't understand why they didn't test him for covid too. I'll take my kids here if it was a last resort definitely will make the trip to bonnyville next time.

I went to this hospital to see what was wrong with me I've been having off periods and I guess a "Threanening miscarriage" they kept telling me that I'm pregnant then said I'm not and got me super confused. I've been having complications for 4 months now and I still havent heard results for them and they only got worse. Never going here again ????

Went to the Emerg not too long ago with my 6mnth old baby at 1am because she was having trouble breathing out of no where and the staff were annoyed with checking us in and the Dr was so rude I don’t know how he still has a licence. Made it seem as though I was bothering him and he had somewhere better to be than helping a baby that’s struggling to breathe. Never seen anything like it before.

I have athsma and not long ago I got Covid which did a really big impact on my lungs , been trying to see my family doctor or any doctor since may , it’s been months of me not properly breathing struggling just just to breathe right and everytime I try to make an appointment or go to the er it’s either the appointments are all full for the day even though I call every morning to check and a 8-10 hour wait for the er , why does a patient that needs medical attention just to breathe properly have to wait over 3 months just to get checked ? It’s not like I can go to Bonnyville either due to limited resources, I would not recommend this hospital to anyone as they are also rude , I went in and the couple in front of me had better service then I did as it made me ticked off cause I am a indigenous women and did not like the treatment I got here or the way they talked to me after I told them my symptoms , I am pretty sure any patient that has difficulty of breathing should be checked on especially when I been waiting over 3 months

Walked in to find the administrator on her cell phone and to busy to help me. My husband had a back injury and was brought in by ambulance to only have them try to put him into a wheelchair for x-rays, the doctor had a terriable bedside manner and didnt seem to care at all. The nurse had no clue what was happening and did nothing to help. What is going n here

Worst hospital ever went for ankle surgery, got an epidural and anesthetic, but after the surgery was over and done with they said I can leave not testing my sense in my back nor legs to make sure the effects of the epidural wore off and im pretty sure its protocol for them to do that.... I don't know seems like they just rush you in and out or set your appointment for this time but don't see you till 4-5 hours later and when they do see you its seem like the littlest to no effort before they tell you to go home

If you are unfortunate enough to be in the care of the Cold Lake Hospital, record every interaction. When i voiced my suicidal thoughts, i was laughed at and told to do it. None of it documented! Keep your own documents to protect yourself from these people.

The receptionists are possibly the worst people I have ever seen in customer service. Walked in and stated I hurt my knee and needed to go to emergency and she proceeded to tell me that she was not a doctor and it didn’t do any good to tell her my symptoms. Carrying on with a fierce attitude and condescension as if she was extremely annoyed that someone would need direction to get to the emergency room for medical attention in a hospital. You’d almost think you walked into a tattoo shop by mistake and asked to see the doctor. Her demeanor however is perfectly matched with the competence of the rest of the hospital as a whole. If you walked out of this hospital and walked into one that is actually good, you’d swear you walked onto the set of a futuristic movie. Full of technological advancements and intelligent people the cold lake healthcare center has never dreamed of... It’s survival of the fittest in cold lake. Because if you get hurt or sick, there is little hope for you in this place.

The lady at the front desk was very friendly, however the majority of the staff was unprofessional, rude and made it seem like we were inconveniencing them. I cut my finger and first off they didnt even clean it, good thing I cleaned it a bit myself before going, then they filled the cut and surrounding area with the glue (completely incorrect process) then covered it with second skin and told me to leave it for 5 days. I feel like letting your cut breathe is common knowledge? Luckily I took it off after 2 days because it looked way worse than when I cut it. The amount of glue was so ridiculous I had to cut it off because it fused with my skin (the scab underneath wasn't even attached to the cut anymore...) So now the scar is a massive dent, when if done properly it would have been a tiny slit. Basically what I'm saying is you would be better off treating your own cuts with some cleaning solution, steri strips and gauze at home.

The low rating is due to administration and management. Right from nursing management to top management the interaction I have had has been negative. Every question has been met with negative and defensive responses. It would appear that lack of managerial training has resulted in a situation where they don’t respond with a professional business attitude and obliviously feel every question is a personnel attack directed toward them. Very good at posturing and being defensive. Nurses will move patients from room to room and not move all belongings. Family member could not find wallet with health card and small amount cash. Bare essential. Turns out it was in room he was moved from 3 days prior in night stand with hearing aids and few other personnel items. Room already occupied by new patient.

Busted my thumb. Buddy had no idea what he was talking about. Said he'll call me about a specialist the next day because he'll know. (the specialist: Dr. Babaram sucks btw) A week later and still no call. I'm going to Ottawa on business, thought I'd seek attention there instead. (I'm from there so my family dr. is there as well) I called Cold Lake to transfer my x-rays only to deal with some useless wench who interrupted me, gave me attitude, and refused to help in any way shape or form. I should also mention I was being very polite. Not passive aggressive or anything. I know you don't believe me but seriously. I asked her a question with an enthusiastic and bubbly tone. Like "Hello! I need ..... do you think that's possible?" and just got mouthed.

A nightmare to deal with like 75% of the time.The stories are endless.If you like waiting 2+ hours just to see a doctor in emerg because there's a shortage of family doctors in town then it's the place for you.

Well had an appointment for which is was to be a follow up and the front desk clerk , wouldn't give us one. So the front desk clerk said I cannot give you an app that far ahead. " we told her it was for a follow up as the Doctor said he wanted to see us..Anyways , she said she will have to speak with her supervisor , which happen to be their . Anyways the supervisor said " give us the 1 pm app for Apr 5 , so That is what I had written down in my calendar book , Anyways we get there for the app , the young front desk clerk said it was for 9:30 am ...So now just got in the mail a bill saying they charged us for not showing up for our app , for which we did not know it was changed to 9:30 am for apr 5 , from 1:00 pm....Since when do we get a charge for them not notifying the change of our doc app ??????? How rude , How low can one place get..

They just check vitals and send you on your way. Saying they cant help you. Rolls thier eyes when you ask questions. They only help those who are exreamly sick but only when youve come to them for so long, just getting sicker and sicker. Like bad mechanics.

I waited at bonnyville hospital for 4 hours to see a doctor and finally left and come to cold lake. I waited less than a hour they were excellent. If you live in bonnyville and want to see a doctor go yo the local vet shop and you will get better service there.

Clerk at admission desk as ZERO patient service or interpersonal skills. I arrived at their secure windiw and the clerk said absloutley nothing to me...she holds her hand out for what I assumed was the AHC card good thing I guessed right. Once the intake is processed she gives me papers and bracelet without so much as a word to communicate what to do with the bracelet or where to go next. NOT ONE single word was said from her to me at all.

So far, been here for 4 hours. Took 3 hours to get into a room. All I need is a prescription for eczema. My friend told me that they seen at least 8 other people come in and walk out with a prescription within 20 mins. I am native and the people who got done in 20 mins were white... good for them but just shows where priorities lie here. Also a cute little native baby ended up leaving because they weren't getting service and they were here before me. I think I'll just leave. This is bs.

My girlfriend went in because her tonsils are extremely huge and it's getting harder for her to breathe in her sleep, she tried to tell those doctors that she had tonsilitis in the past month, Dr Strander was his name, and even called my gf a liar, cause it was her tonsils what hurt and she told him her tonsils hurt, not the throat, and he gave her a covid swab, and told her it was gonna hurt, then proceeded to say "See I didn't lie to you, now did I?" and proceeds to get mad at my gf and tells her that someone could die because of her, Complete ignorance and unprofessionalism, do not go here, or you'll be mistreated also

Went in to emergency because I suspected I may have been leaking amniotic fluid at 14 weeks pregnant. Expected it to be a long wait after our experiences with the walk in clinic but I was seen right away, everyone was extremely helpful and friendly and the doctor was very thorough and explained everything. Even sending me for an emergency ultrasound after the swab came back negative for amniotic fluid just to make 100% sure everything is okay.
