Staff was very rude when I called to see if my son was ok. I am so terribly upset that I called and I was not ignorant , I only wanted to know if my son was ok and the man that answered my phone call was completely ignorant. It was heart breaking.

I was in the Halvar Jonson, a section in the Centennial Centre and the care I recieved was phenominal. I was in a major car accident and was in a wheelchair with poor memory, but as time went on I got stronger with their help and my memory and physical wellness got better through different therapies such as occupational and physical therapy.

I've known a few people who were in here, only 1 seemed to get anything out of it, and they only got a tiny bit. Still, it's better than many similar places.

Released someone that should not at all been released. 8 days. Should have been in there for at least 3 months!! Whoever made that descision is unprofessional and we need to exchange words IMMEDIATELY!! Releasing that into public was certain death. I am appaled at that dr that made that idiotoc descision.

There are some good Dr's, nurses, therapists here doing there best to help patients. Unfortunately, there are double that many Dr's, social workers, therapists with a condescending elitist megalomaniac perspective that have no intent in the well-being of patients & their Do No Harm philosophy & oath was taken tongue-in-cheek. No Dr at any time should be allowed to sign a legal document taking away another individuals freedom of will based solely on what their "perspective" is especially so if the are 100% willing to lie on the documents that they obviously have not read and/or understand/interpret on that law upon signing. Their goal here is to lie to patients, to the family, to the outside world, to imprison people here unvoluntarily who otherwise may have came of their own free will. It used to be that you could voluntarily come here without fear of them forcing you to stay here and the care was exceptional and holistic. This is no longer the case. I do not have a mental disorder I have an acquired brain injury n therefore do not fall into the Form 1 Admission Certification criteria yet 2 Drs signed a legal document forcing me involuntarily. I came here on the 15th Dec for a Dr. appointment I had with my shrink. I arrived on my own will in a cab. I arrived here after being finished the round of perscribed care at another hospital in dealing with pneumonia to find out the Dr at the 1st hospital had signed this Form 1. Thus Dr Gilbert can not read obviously & neither can this Dr. Poaruquai (or however you spell it). I have since written signed n delivered a form taking away any consent that this second Dr, the social worker, & another lady has in the past present or future of anything bearing my name likeness etc medical dental social police federal provincial etc. Needless to say this last Dr was very unhappy today.

My son Nim G. was at this facility for 3-04 days and was sent home by an irresponsible doctor who decided he is safe enough to be by himself out of the facility. My son situation has worsened since he was released from Alberta mental health hospital a few months ago. I refer to the fact that from there he left with the conviction that he is mentally ill and that he has the right to use psychic or psychological types of drugs. I was calling the Alberta hospital – as the Zombie House. From then he got the entitlement to use many kinds of psychotic drugs. Also, he drinks alcohol combined with medication. Many times, he lost control. Not long ago was found unconsciously on the grass in front of a house. Someone found him and thought he was dead and called 911. Nimrod is using his mental problems as a shield and to justify his irresponsible behaviour. You have no idea how many times I sent police to find him, and he was found in his car self injured or passed out and then he is taken to emergency and a psychiatrist is talking to him and he is sent home because my son always know how to talk his way out of hospital, and, the next day he will try the same. Today happened the same...the doctors sent him home because is easier NOT to deal with problems - mental problems - even if the Ponoka centennial is a facility that is "proud" to be a first class mental health facility

These People Are So Rude. They Hung Up On Me For Asking To Talk To My Sister. This Place Needs To Fire All current Staff And Re- Staff the place.

I want to Thank the Nurses Doctors and Staff for their support and care and attention they have given to my husband during his stay in the Paragon Unit Being such an emotionally tough time it eased my heart to have known he was so well taken care of. Thank you

Amazing group therapy for cocurring disorders. Can't say enough about how amazing the addiction councillors are. The downside is units outside of the addiction units, and in the halls, there are street drugs hidden craftily in the shadows of this facility. Not a safe place for recovery when meth and crack is being peddled in the facility. When I called the head psychatrist on my unit on this the pat answer I got was "It is going to be out there in the real world." I gave him an ear full, and he said there's nothing he can do about it. Guess what, there is something that can be done about this. It's called piss testing everyone every day. Simon House does it via Unicef Donations. Man up and care about the mentally ill Doc. On that note, I am a recovering addict, I know that drugs are in the real world. I also know the mentally I'll make up most of the market of schedule one drug use. Just sayin doc. Keep em sick, keep ya rich. Update: After talking to the medical professionals in my family, we are all wondering why the Topamax was being ramped up so fast on my diagnosis. It has not yet been approved by the FDA for a multitude of the reasons Dr. Kwan is using it for. Also, the FDA has found many complications with the other prescriptions I am on with Topamax I was complaining about. So I must write a message to all the staff who have stopped listening to the patients of The Centennial Centre. Anyone educated in this world knows addiction issues in North America are nowhere near a cure. Currently we are under a 5% successful lifetime recovery rate. As a client of your facility being witness of the incredible amount of retreads, and your inability to cope and hear with your heart's, I will ensure I tell everyone I know and love to never go to The Centennial Centre. It is the attitude of arrogance that you are right and the client is wrong that really brings medicine to stalemate with addiction. There is many great things going on there, don't get me wrong. But there is a sickness there braided tightly with the indifference of good people, and complacency that ensures the darkness will win there. Even Bill W. had enough humility to write at the end of the 164 to say that we don't have a monopoly on recovery. Best regards to your facilities recovery.

My name is Blake Knull and I was 29 when I went there spent the better part of a year on ferintosh unit and without this place I definitely would not be where I am today without this place

Been trying to get ahold of my Dr as I was discharged on new to me meds that have made things worse .Talked to His nurse she put me thru to the admitting nurse .He was rude wouldn't even listen told me to call 911 that they aren't a emergency hospital. I didn't need a emergency hospital I just needed to leave a message for my Dr. The guy on front desk is rude and needs to get a life .

My family was in a horrific car accident.. My daughter was in medical induced coma due to her injuries. She was transported to Ponoka bed ridden. With the endless help of Sara from the PT program my daughter walked out of the hospital 8 months later. She relearned to eat, walk, talk to function as a young adult. I'm so grateful and want to thank you for giving me back my family. She is doing great

Tianna Saunter

Save yourself and don't go here. Ruined me for the rest of my life

Rudy Shields

Just like any of the mental health places I've been to, forced "treatment" should be outlawed and people are too nieve to realize that doctors really have every patients best interest in mind.

P Wright

Worked here briefly a few years back. Some excellent programs serving a wide array of mental health illnesses. Unfortunately, this facility has some questionable safety policies in effect. Many of those doors that you can view from the outside of the facility are permanently locked. The unit staff DO NOT have keys for these doors and do not have a means to exit most of them. In a facility occupied by unstable and frequently aggressive clients this is a major safety concern..a concern that staff have apparently been discouraged to alert patients and their guardians about. In an incidence of active assailant or inescapable aggression people could easily be trapped without rapid escape options. I understand that staff have appealed repeatedly to management but concerns have fallen on deaf ears.

Mackenzie Klingbile

This is a horrible hospital! I got out into a program after being sent to a another group, the first time they didn’t change any meds which was fine because I was functioning and than as soon as went to the next unit I was booted out of the 8 week program 2 weeks in because I wasn’t feeling well and I told them it was the med change making me sick
