I was born at this hospital.

Went to emerg because I had a really bad fever and I was seen right away and treated with the utmost respect and caring, really great staff they have here. They took me really seriously and really calmed me down in a situation that was scary for me.

Julian Teakle

Quick service and great staff. A small hospital but it does the trick.

I had a major surgery here two weeks ago with Dr. Laliberte. This hospital has great protocols during COVID-19. The nurses have amazing bedside manner, they explain in detail all the steps to make sure you know what to expect before and after surgery. Everyone is very caring and attentive. Most rooms are private with a great view. I would like to thank nurses: Kat, Kenth, and Brooklyne for taking care of me during my short stay.

Was admitted here for ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair day surgery. The staff in acute care from nurses and the whole surgery team ( thank you Dr Buchko) was awesome! Any questions I had were answered and everyone provided lots of attention pre and post surgery. Surgery was intensive as I had fully torn my ACL and haf significant damage to the meniscus. But cannot get my rehab started and focus on coming out stronger and better than I was before!

This hospital is AWFUL i have had to come here twice in less than a week because i am in so much pain. the doctor keeps telling me just to take Tylenol and Advil, which i told her i have been and it is not helping with the pain at all, i have wasted two trips to this hospital and am not going to go there a third time. they clearly weren't listening when i said pain reliever are not helping. i had the same women doctor each visit she is very very inconsiderate of my pain and not helpful at all! Very bad service!!!!

Laird Young

Amazing care and great staff provided constantly. Been through 2 ACL/LCL reconstruction surgeries, and never had a bad experience with anything. Food isn't too bad either.

Amazing experience for such a small hospital, I was hesitant on the wait times but they got me in as soon as they could, they were very supportive, and I just really think these guys deserve to be recognized, every staff from the nurses, to the admin staff, to the doctor, were all great.

Great experience. We were referred as priority from the Alpine Walk In clinic, which was amazing in itself. As soon as we got there we were rushed through triage and had a bed as soon as possible. Before we even had ourselves organized the staff began tests, and before we even knew it treatment was started. Thank you.

Had ACL surgery here, all staff are sweet and helpful, I'm really grateful for the people here!

Claire Hanna

Unbelievable hospital with exceptional service. I came in for knee surgery and had one of the best experiences. Was seen quickly, and communication from nurses and staff was direct and simple. The care by the doctors is world class and the facilities are clean, the rooms are spacious and the views amazing!

Mid-August, I fell while on a trail and broke my ankle. I was taken via ambulance to the Banff hospital before heading back home to Calgary. The staff, EMTs and Dr. Plant were all amazing! And not just because they gave me laughing gas. After X-rays and casting, they called the hospital in my neighbourhood to alert them I would be coming the next day for surgery. (Nurse shortage was why I didn’t do it there.) Despite feeling overwhelmed with breaking a bone for the first time ever, I had a pleasant emergency experience. I’m healing nicely after surgery and am glad I didn’t attempt to shrug it off and drive home first before seeing a doctor!

We have a had a few trips to this hospital. The first time through the ER and we were treated kindly and in a prompt manner. Recently we were just there as my son haf knee surgery and Dr.Laurie and all the staff were incredibly friendly and kind.

Poor service! The first 2 old ER nurses were grumpy! I was told by the 1st nurse that I should get the refill from my family doctor, and I dont like the looks on her face while telling me. I apologize to her and told her that I cannot reach them during the last week of my meds. Then, the 2nd nurse (I thought she's a doctor because wearing a different color of uniform) escorted me to the ER cubicle and told me to wait for the doctor. I approached again the 2nd nurse and reminded her that I came by to just get the refill, I don't know why I am there in the bed and asked her if there's something wrong with my health. I assumed that I have some testing because my bp was high. Then, she told me to wait for the doctor because this is ER and they prioritize the emergency. I wasted my nearly 2hrs. time waiting for the doctor to give me prescription refill. I understand that in the ER their priority is to attend the sickest person. When I approached the 3rd young nurse that I need to go and cannot wait any longer as I have a job in an hour. She asked me to sign the release paper and gently advised me to go to any clinic doctors for the refill of my prescription and that is the fastest way. I asked her why the 2 nurses earlier didn't advise me that? She didn't reply back. I even called the hospital if I can come to ask for the prescription refill, I was advised just to come to ER and tell the doctor. For unknown reason, I cannot reach my family doctor to schedule for an appointment during the last week of my meds, I am working morning all the time and by the time I'm done, the clinic's closed already. Anyway, my bp went up because of this horrible experience! So disappointing!

Amazing nurses and attention you wouldn't get lost at a big city hospital

Emilie Marceau Briggs

Incredible service from one-week before my surgery to days after it. Alyssa was very knowledgeable answering questions clearly over the phone before and after surgery -- great idea to call patients for a follow-up afterwards, thank you! My nurses Nick and Kelly were very kind and friendly. I do not remember the names of the team that assisted Dr Kopka in completing the surgical procedure, but they too were very helpful and empathetic. Thank you to you all!

Jill Benson

All the staff from the front desk to the techs to the Drs have been courteous and kind.

Melanie

Staff is so rude! I came in for an emergency after a skiing accident, the moment I walked in the lady doing the screening for covid was mean and not at all empathetic. Once I got into a room the doctors didn’t seem to care much and made me wait around forever. I ended up calling another emergency location and they told me to come straight away and they would help me. Meanwhile I wasted an hour or more just waiting to see someone. Really disappointing when you’re scared from an accident and have staff shrug you off.

Bit late for review but about 2 yrs ago I got ACL surgery. I really can't say how much I appreciate everything they did for me. I'm usually a very nervous and anxious person and especially when I was going in for surgery. All the staff put me at such ease. I remember going into the operating room and the staff in there saying how the anesthesia was going to knock me out like a few pints of Guinness (I'm Irish haha) before I knew it I was awake in recovery. The nurse overlooking my recovery was sensational. Constant check all through the day/night to make sure I was comfortable. The most amazing hospital. Fast forward 2 yrs later and my knee is in top form. Thanks you all so much

I felt very cared for at this hospital! I had 2 surgeries within 3 months and had a couple of the same nurses each time. Maggie, Nick, and Kelsey were all really great to me and showed a lot of compassion and attention. All around really great staff with a lot of checking in to see how I was doing. I especially appreciated Dr. Patterson who really helped provide a better experience for me with anesthesia. He was very kind and professional. Very clean environment and nice view of the mountains. Thank you all very much!

Horrible brother went on a trip from Winnipeg and they can't even tell us if he is there or not saying you have to come here and see when we are 2 provinces away

I stayed here for one night, two days and the staff was amazing. Most people complain about hospital food ( I’ve always had bad hospital food) but this is probably the BEST hospital food!

Relaxing atmosphere for a hospital. Staff was very friendly and did a great job. Hidden gem of hospitals

this hospital is AWFUL. i had issues with a IUD and went to canmore to get help. had a needle of antibiotic in my hip. the day after i was in with crazy pain in my leg. some Ian MacDonald “doctor” here said i had nerve damage and i was the only one to blame myself. literal words out of his mouth “so you had a shot in your hip? well that was your first mistake” EXCUSE ME. got a second opinion and no, i don’t have a damaged nerve. but thanks for making terrified i would always be in pain and nothing be the same again. the doctors do not know anything and i wouldn’t trust them with your life. not worth it.

My daughter was brought in after breaking her leg slipping on ice. I have to say that every member of staff was above and beyond helpful and she was operated on the next day. The finance people worked with us/her to sort out payment (she is on a working visa) and liaise with her insurance. The doctors were cheerful and kept us informed, the nursing staff were caring and compassionate. Everything was really clean and the food, when she could eat, was pretty good and took into account her dietary needs. Everybody involved made what was a traumatic experience just a little easier and I am so appreciative.

This team of medical professionals are the BEST in the game...exceptional service I've never found in a yyc facility. Worth the drive!

Went there for reduction surgery. rhey had me stay over night, which is not always required. I complained the IV was making my arm numb like it was full of ice and had to fight to get it taken out. I wasn't really able to sleep throughout the night and they decided to put someone in the room with me even though other rooms were empty. They were banging around all night slamming doors in my room so when I finally did get to sleep I was woken up 10 mins later. I had to wear headphones and listen to music in order to try to sleep and I heard all that banging through my music. There were people at 11pm laughing so loud I had to ask for the door to be shut and could still hear them through it. Later the nurse said they were visitors but visiting hours were over at 8:30pm. They had no plugs outside to plug in your vehicle. The weather was -30c the whole time. I had my mother driving my car so when I was discharged the next morning she went to go start it and it wouldn't start. So she came back to let me know. We asked several people in the hospital (staff that were literally doing nothing but yapping about the people coming through the door and their judgement on them) and none of them would help. T was hard enough to even get a number for road side assistance. My mother ended up having to pay $95 just for someone to boost my car. I had jumpers. But no one was willing to help. I would never go back to that hospital willingly ever again. The uselessness and unwillingness of the staff to help was quite appalling. It would have literally taken someone maybe a total of 3 mins to help and be a good person. And to pay $95 for a BOOST of your vehicle and wait half an hour. We didn't leave the hospital until over an hour after I was discharged.

Staff were incredibly brusque and rude. There were drops of blood on the floor next to the bed. Go anywhere else

Absolutely amazing staff, I have CRPS and all hospitals have iqnored it when treating me however Banff staff listened while I explained about my condition and then proceeded to go out of their way to make sure they did nothing more to aggravate my CRPS. Thank you so much to the staff working on Dec 24th, you were just doing your job but it meant more to me than you could possibly know.

Mackenzie Mancini

I have never been so poorly treated than I have here! The doctors did not take my conditions seriously and had very poor and insensitive bed side manner. Living in an isolated village near Banff, I don't have access to medical care as often as needed in the situations I was in, which they were made aware of. With that being said, the doctor told me, "There are people who are here for cardiac arrest, you're kidney infection could have waited for a walk in." I have been in the hospital 7 times in the past year because of my weak kidneys and after I explained that to him as well that I did not appreciate the way he spoke to me earlier on his response was, "Thanks for informing me." I would not recommend these doctors to anybody as they are just flat out disrespectful to their patients.

Horrible, after my bf broke his arm in lake louise I had no money to stay anywhere as I thought hospitals are supposed to be a kind and caring enviorment I thought theyd let me stay the night as I had NO WHERE to go my boyfriend didn't mind either I wss just going to sleep in the chair I was told to leave and put out on the streets with no where to stay. Your signs say they done tolerate staff and abuse to others but allows this. Worst experience ever I have never been treated so poorly before.

Very happy with the treatment that I've got today at Banff Mineral Spring Hospital - kuddos to all staff, from the minute I got admitted until I left the hospital I felt very special. Lots of thanks go to dr. Greg Buchko and his team for taking great care of me - I was able to walk with the help of cruches just 5 hours after my knee surgery (ACL). Now, 12 hours later my knee feels good with very little pain, less than one on a scale 1 to 10. ????

Was in Banff for the weekend had a bit of a breathing problem went to the emergency between the two nurses and the doctor I was handle with the most care I’ve every had very impressed small town hospital with very big hearts

I’ve never been more embarrassed going into a hospital. I went in to get checked for strep throat and the doctor brushed me off without taking a swab. Told me I was waisting everyone’s time. Which by the way... I waited 1.5 hours when there was no one there..for a procedure that could take 5 seconds.. I work in the service industry and it’s my legal obligation to ensure that I don’t get people sick. I would much rather be safe than sorry. Thank you to the doctor who made me feel cared for.

Joseph Marasigan

The nurses, emerge, kitchen and overall staff is a 5 star rating for sure. I believe this in my heart, they've save my life.. First b4 anyone gets angry, everyone has the right to their opinion but Banff Disease Specialists.. I've met this man and all I can say about this man is a glorified hallway monitor. Do your real job buddy, no wonder we're losing!!
