had a terrible experience with these yahoo's with a day old baby. I brought her in for a glucose test after some spitting up and fussy eating. this SHOULD have been a simple heel poke check and then done. INSTEAD ... WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT, AND with NO SIGNS OR SYMPTOMS INFECTION OF REDNESS OR FEVER , they performed a Staph test. which then was contaminated and then they put my child through he'll with multiple iv poke, incredible excruciating spinal pokes WHICH PUT MY CHILD AT RISK FOR BEING CONTAMINATED AND INFECTED WITH THE STAPH THEY ARE LOOKING FOR! and the cherry on top they administered anti biotics in emergency instead of waiting till we were admitted and once we were admitted the staff and doctors were amazing and the doctor apologized for anti biotics given to my BRAND NEW BABY, BECAUSE THEY DON'T EVEN COVER STAFF and will cause my baby further discomfort and difficulty by destroying positive bacteria and cam cause things such as diarrhea. She also apologized for the Staph test that never should have been taken in the first place and again WAS DONE WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT. this is incredibly serious. I have had positive experiences of course in this emergency but this was absurd. and you know what those doctors made money on our tax dollars every step of the way they can bill for every extra test and procedure. and they put my child through hell and in dangers way. next time you want a glucose test for a brand new Baby because you are worried and they come in with painful iv to take more blood say NO and make sure you just get a heel poke and don't get taken on a ride by these yahoo's like we did. my poor baby went through far too much unnessary suffering even the iv is more painful than a heel poke. And again know they in this emergency apparently they will do stuff without your knowledge or concent to be vigilant!

If you have children and you need to go to the emergency of hospital do not waste your time elsewhere. I don't know how to express my gratitude for the Calgary Children's hospital. Our 3 week old baby was admitted there and was taken in charge by very caring staff and volunteers. Thanks very much for everything.

Waited for more than 5 hours with a 10 month old baby, we came at 12 midnight with a high fever, and just being reassessed at the triage. Just call the EMS so u wont have to wait that long if you have insurance, their staff is so slow, these is where our taxes go. Free healthcare but longer waiting time. It sucks.

Horrible experience at the emergency waiting area . I wonder how this hospital haven't thought for years of taking things a bit serious with waiting time and overnight intake for kids . Children aged 3 months and up are to stay in a seated position all night in the emergency waiting area until called in .we arrived at 12 midnight and went into a room at 5 AM in the morning, kids exhausted couldn't walk straight from stiff muscles and completely disoriented. We as adults can tolerate and have been tolerating such wait times but poor kids have no place to lay down and sleep until they are called in . The hospital spends all this money building and hiring the best pediatricians in Calgary with no consideration on such simple fix things . They can spend money on a huge aquarium at the entrance , a capsule and some statues and useless stuff but not a temporary clean place for the kids to lay down on, at least overnight , no need for the morning. Every parent keeps their mouth shut so the hospital automatically thinks it's normal and that they are doing a great job. Treating kids in the emergency area with such neglect should not be ignored . If you are reading this and you are sitting waiting for your turn , your kids and tired and you are asked to shut up and wait then write a review . Several reviews might make them consider some changes . The parking area outside the emergency area is not free ofcourse that's because you and your kids are going into an indoor playground to have some fun!! The area has no residential area nearby so why enforce a pay parking? Nobody in the hospital knows why but they follow like the rest of the herd and pay , even the staff pays . Disgusting way of taking advantage of people in need . It's 6 AM and no doctor yet just a room . Maybe we did something wrong and they are punishing me and my kids . I just want my kids to be healthy and happy and I wish all you out there the best .

No one cares about the patients, they just put you in room and you stay for 3 to 5 hours for nothing

Minimum 3 hrs waiting for 3mins max check up with the doctor! We went here because of my sons high fever and vommiting and we end up with swabtest and sent back home. Dr said we will get the result within 24 hrs and we are still waiting' 3 days now for the result. Husband and i cannot go to work because of that! We both need to show the result to get back to work. ????????????

Completely Inefficient and sad to see tax payers money wasted...Visited ER at Alberta Children Hospital, while triage was quick and it was only three people ahead of us, we faced completely inefficient and careless staff, spent more than 6 hours waiting for basic tests, layers of nurses sitting around chatting about fashion, online shopping, skiing trips-you name it, feels like a coffee break room where you can get all details about their leisure and personal lifestyle, but definitely not a AHS institution where people coming to get help for their kids. This place is not about sick kids and their tired and sleepless moms, they just put you in a waiting room where you just observe rather a fashion show where nurses are walking along the hall dreaming that they are fashion models with corresponding walking style. Have to thank doctors who seem the only ones who work and care, the rest of the staff cannot even pay attention to doctors notes left to them to understand why the kid is there and what is done so far while attempting to approach a suffering child with repeated tests. Avoid if you care about your child and time and deal with your paediatrician.

Horrible I wouldn't trust them on my dogs rather my children never again
