Best hair salon experience ever!!! I had the honour of having Ryan (colour specialist) colour my hair. I came into the salon as a first time costumer with previously dyed hair that I need desperately fixed and had every expectation met. He really saved my hair and gave me great advice and recommendations. Ryan listened to what I wanted and told me in advance the real outcome of what I would be receiving.Not to mention, all the stuff are extremely kind and easy to talk too. I would HIGHLY recommend this salon!!!

Evolve is definitely my go to hair studio! Everyone is super friendly, nice and talented!! I get my hair done by Sahil and I always leave my appointments feeling confident and my hair never looked better! Sahil does my hair in a way that not only looks amazing right after a fresh cut, but also makes it super easy for me to style everyday. I also love how the salon takes measures to being more eco-friendly and creating a space during covid to make sure everyone is safe and reduces the chances of transmission. What a wonderful experience I had getting my hair done at Evolve. Having only moved to Canada 6 weeks ago I was worried about the whole experience of finding a new hairdressers but going to Evolve put me at ease. Everyone was so pleasant and welcoming and my hair is beautiful - Meghan cut it exactly the way I wanted it and was so professional explaining what she wanted to do etc. And Jody did my full head of highlights perfectly with the exact colours I was looking for and was so informative about how to look after your hair and the colour. I would definitely recommend this salon!!

I believe I've had 5 haircuts at Evolve and have been fully satisfied with maybe 2 of them. And for what they charge, that's not good. I love the customer experience. Lovely people, good service, head massages etc BUT if I'm not satisfied with the most important part; the hair cut, then why am I even going? Probably wouldn't be an issue if it was a $20 haircut but at $50+ total it becomes far more irritating. Am I being too picky? Maybe. But I feel the price point encourages this. Perhaps I just need to earn more $ to afford my high priced haircuts lol UPDATE: One of the owners, Sonia, had me back in to touch up my latest haircut and she's a rockstar master stylist. Loved the way she took her time to deal with my not-so-easy to cut hair!

Love it !! Their customer service is great. You can schedule your appointments online and they send appointment reminders as well. My hair stylist was Meg. She did a fantastic job. Meg was very patient. She asked me questions to understand what I was looking for and clearly explained what she recommends. Meg, thank you for the amazing hair cut. I love it !

My little guy (7 month old) and I came in this afternoon. I was accommodated with a walk in appointment, because I woke up yesterday and decided I needed bangs. Not only did I walk out with exactly the cut I had in my mind, I left feeling super cared for, relaxed and overall happy. Candy cut my hair, she listened to me and gave me exactly what I asked for. This is an amazing salon. I had a fairly dire hair situation, and this salon was recommended to me. I did not have an appointment, but Ryan fit me in on a busy Saturday for a consult after hearing about my situation. After seeing my hair, Ryan made room for me despite that the place was packed. I went in with uneven, artificial looking red hair, and I came out with a very natural looking copper. Check out his IG page @colourfulryan - his work speaks for itself. Everyone in the salon was so friendly, and the team really works together to help each other out, and to ensure that clients are happy and comfortable. I already have my next appointment booked.

I don’t usually write reviews but I could resist writing one for these guys. I’ve been going to them for my haircut for the past one year and I consult meg for it. Trust me she’s the best!! Not only is she a master at what she does but she’s also the best hairstylist I’ve had so far. She’s very precise with her work and her recommendations about hair care never fail to amaze me! I’ve got my haircut done recently and decided to colour my hair and I’m beyond happy that I had Richie as my hair-colourist. He’s a magician. He worked with me to explain what The process was which I think is great! I walked out of the salon with a huge smile on my face and the best looking hair! The salon is super clean and all the necessary covid measures are being taken right from your first step inside the salon till you exit!! I’d recommend this place and these two guys 100/10 without a doubt!

Evolve is on my block and I always noticed how good the hair cuts were while passing the place and so decided to give it a try. I am new here so had been searching for a good place and stylist for some time, but I am happy to say my search is now over. The staff at Evolve are so nice, I had Lina help me and she was superb, attentive and gave me a not so drastic yet different haircut. She really heard the pain points and tried to guide and help me accordingly. I had another lady Caroline/Lina who helped me with getting some waves to my annoyingly straight hair.. all in all if you are looking for a good stylist try this place out and you won’t be sorry New: I recently went in for a balayage ( hadn’t coloured in years and was very nervous). I had Ryan manage the same and he was super patient in explaining the process, answering my umpteenth questions and did an amazing job With my hair.. I absolutely loved it And he was superb overall. Another reason to love Evolve...

I booked a hair highlights service with Richie. He was very patient and understood my concerns stemming from my past hair colour experiences. He took the time to discuss the look first and the results were better than what I imagined! The staff is very courteous and great and they all treat you so well! And as another reviewer said, they don't push their in-store products on you which is rare for a salon. Coming back for all my hair services! PS: they're heavily booked for longer services, but an appointment usually available in 3-4 weeks.

Not only do they have an amazingly beautiful salon with amazingly talented stylists but they truly care about their clients and go out of their way to ensure they are taken care of. I was in an accident which resulted in head trauma and the salon has been in regular contact with me for almost a year checking in to see how I have been doing. This alone really shows how much they truly do value their customers and you’re not just seen as another dollar sign walking in the door. When I was finally ready and able to have my hair done - yay! I came in for a full colour with Richie and he was AMAZING!!! Richie is such a professional who clearly has a ton of experience and tailored the whole experience to make it as comfortable for me as possible. My colour turned out exactly the way I wanted and I couldn’t be happier. My trip was finished off with a lovely blow and fantastic waves by the fabulous Natalie who was so lovely and girl, the waves lasted me a couple days ( bonus! ) Thank you so much to the team - I left feeling the best I have in almost a year and I really can’t explain to you how much it meant to me. I really appreciate the extra thought and care you took into my time there. All I can say is I will recommend Evolve to everyone I know and I will definitely be seeing you again soon! Xx

And Sahil, my hairstylist, absolutely the best that I ever had, starting with the attention to what I want followed by an amazing and relaxing scalp/neck massage. But since finding Cynthia, she has made it super easy to book appointments that work around my schedule and she's a pro to boot. He did a full head of babylights which came out looking the best they ever have, and I couldn't be happier! You can tell he's extremely experienced and knows what he's doing, which is always a concern when visiting someone for the first time. Sonya, my stylist and co-owner of Evolve, is reason enough to go there. The head/face massage, followed by a hot eucalyptus towel, and the mid-month, reduced-price touch-ups... those are just cherries on top. As a Cityplace resident, Evolve's proximity makes it the obvious choice for me. But even if i were to move to the other side of the city, i'd fight traffic to get back here for a haircut. And i reaaaaally hate traffic. Try them... bet you'll agree.

I found Evolve online a year ago when I made the stupid mistake of trying to cut some corners and bleach my own hair. It was a mess, and when I walked in with a consultation with Ashley, she was so warm and kind about it! (I went for a consultation at other salons prior to this and they either said it was too damaged to help me fix it and get the colour I wanted or were really snooty about it) She sat me down, told me realistically what the process and options were - that it wasn't going to happen overnight, but if I was willing to be patient, reaching the colour I wanted was possible - and she fixed it! I have thick, long hair and she's been so patient working with it, maintaining its integrity, but still getting it to what I want. It's come to a point where I just let her do her thing and whatever she comes up with - I love it! I've watched Sonia and her team work with other clients in the salon and it's always been a blast. Also a shout-out to Holly who's super sweet and always find an appointment that fits my schedule! P.S. I've seen a comment before either on yelp or google that said they were uncomfortable with the product plug-ins during the appt. I don't know if they get any commission from it, but I've purchased the Kevin Murphy products before because I know that with my bleached hair - I needed it and I don't regret it! IT SMELLS SOO GOOOD, I always get compliments on the scent and how shiny it makes my hair. It's a definite splurge and treat though, so I buy it sparingly - but I never had the girls push that I HAD TO have it.

Phenomenal salon and team! After four months in the Caribbean, diving every day, my hair and colour were destroyed. Jody got the colour I was looking for just right and I’ll never know what she did but my hair feels as soft and healthy as it did before I started colouring it, even after a couple of washes. When I moved to Toronto from the US in late 2017, I used to live near the harborfront area, and I initially picked Evolve Hair Studio for the proximity. But I loved Cynthia’s work so much that I come back time and time again even after moving further away at Eglinton and Yonge. I didn’t even bother searching for closer Hair Studios after moving. Getting my hair done at this place is well worth the trip. Cynthia is incredibly talented and such a great person to be around in general. She always takes my opinions into consideration but also offers sound advice. She really cares about giving you what you want, but also focuses on keeping your hair healthy in the end, which I couldn’t appreciate more. Everyone that works here is very friendly and inviting and super talented as well! I can confirm as everyone else has said on here that this Hair Studio has the best vibes. I’ve been here so many times and have consistently been happy with the results. I’m attaching here just one of the photos where Cynthia gave me the gorgeous silvery babylights I was looking for, and Carol did an amazing job at adding the finishing touches with the beautiful soft waves. I went to Evolve on December 6th specifically to see Richie because he’s a genius. My hair was GREEN due to over bleaching and too much experimenting with colour depositing conditioners. In a few hours he took me from having green hair to having a beautiful chic platinum balayage with subtlety that’s still surprising me. Pro tip: if you’re going to get a major colour correction or change, book a consultation first. It gives the stylist the opportunity to examine your hair, figure out a plan of attack and you’ll leave with some pre-washes and a conditioner that will ensure your colour turns out exactly as you’ve dreamed (plus the discount of the consultation on the total cost of your services). I honestly can’t say enough positive things about Richie or the Evolve salon. The studio is beautiful and professional, the staff are lovely and friendly. I booked my follow up before I left!

I went to Evolve totally distraught. I had damaged my hair with a curling wand and I’m getting married in 2 weeks. I was so concerned with the state of my hair, and let me just say Richie truly is a God send. He took well over 30 minutes just to sit with my and go through my hair piece by piece and came up with an action plan. I got a treatment and a trim and it looks stunning. He totally revived it, but really it was the compassion and care he took for me that really made the difference as I was so upset. I can’t recommend him enough. The rest of the staff was so kind and friendly. The vibe in the salon was so positive and I will definitely not be going anywhere else after this. Thank you so much!! So worth the trip downtown.

So, the manager of the salon contacted me later on and asked me to come back, then Syndia ( I hope I'm spelling her name correctly) did another hair cut for me which is absolutely beautiful and I love it. Sonia and Jody are the best. Their salon is the best. First, it's central and easy to get to. Second, their prices are fair, and even "inexpensive" for the amount of work and thoughts that they put in. When you go in for a men's cut, Sonia uses her scissors to work on your hair, and will NEVER use a buzzer to give you a generic cut. Third, the quality of work they do, from greeting you into the salon with a drink, to getting your hair washed/head massaged, and then styled before heading off. Everything is done with your interest in mind. I've been going to Sonia for my hair for a couple of years now. If I don't know what I want to do with my hair, she'll either help me come up with something or make sure I'm cleaned up nice and spiffy. She's been helping me manage my growing out process over the past few months, and she would not let me leave until she knows I'm happy with my cut and know how to manage it at home. Never an awkward moment of silence except for when Sonia is massaging your head, with a hot towel on your face and you're struggling to not pass out on the chair. A great addition to the City Place/Downtown hood.

Sooooo... I'm one of those guys who has always gone to a cheap-haircut-kinda-place, like his whole life. Until about a year ago, when Sonia cut my hair for the first time and made me feel like I could do something new that I hadn't thought was possible. I think her opening line was "let's talk about your hair" or something like that. And then she introduced me to some (seemingly) outrageously priced products to help me keep it healthy and looking good. Which worked better than anything I'd ever used before. And for the first time ever, people started complimenting me on my hair. Not just noticing I "got a haircut", but actually complimenting me on how good it looked. And so I went back to Evolve again. And again. And I keep going back. And now my bathroom is full of Kevin Murphy products. And I've been assimilated into the world of taking my hair seriously and seeing it as an expression of who I truly am. Evolve isn't really a hair studio. It's more like a little mini-therapeutic vacation and empowerment session wrapped into one (wine, face massage and hot towel treatment included). Anyway, yeah, I'm a fan as you can tell. It's expensive, and worth it.

I have been going to Evolve for just over 9 years. The staff there are super talented, very welcoming and friendly. I usually see Sonia for cuts and Jody for colour (both very good at what they do). However the past couple of visits, I booked regrowth/ toner appointments with Carolyn - she is amazing! She takes the time to understand what her clients want and gives honest feedback about what is attainable. She explains how to achieve your desired result in the most effective and least damaging way. Her enthusiasm is contagious, , she has tremendous passion for her craft and to top it all she is a great conversationalist which makes it such a pleasure to work with her!

I have been going to Evolve for the past year and my hair has been transformed. Being a natural dark brunette, it can be a hard thing to achieve a natural looking blonde colour that still looks good grown out between salon visits, however that is exactly what I have now. All the girls are great, however I definitely recommend going to see Candy. She is a colour guru ????. I’ve never liked my hair as much as I do today. 100% recommend, not to mention they offer you wine during your service.

Just wanted to share a recent experience (November 2020) at the Evolve Hair Studio. I came in asking for a 0.5-1" trim of the dry ends (photo #1 was taken a week before the visit) and ended up with my hair getting completely chopped off - unevenly, sloppily and just plain bad (after photos - 2, 3 and 4). I do understand that mistakes happen, I can even give someone the benefit of the doubt when it comes to having a bad day. However, the way this situation unfolded highlights the level of professionalism at that place. - the stylist (Meg) was not at all concerned with the quality of the haircut and was very comfortable with charging me full price for it (this haircut cost me $140.. I know.. LOL) - when talking to the manager (Chevohn) the next day, I was told that Meg is a senior stylist with an excellent reputation. The fact that a senior stylist at this establishment is not able to trim hair evenly is a bit alarming.. and that is on top of not listening to what the customer is asking for. - instead of apologizing, Chevohn (salon manager), blamed me for what happened, because I booked a "medium" haircut instead of "barber" (..still not sure how that translated into what was done to my hair..) I found the level of customer service skills of the salon manager to be quite refreshing considering the cost of a haircut at that place. I did end up getting my money back after several uncomfortable phone conversations, but this entire experience was pretty unpleasant to say the least - my hair was butchered and I was treated like garbage for simply pointing that out. .....I want to update my review after having a conversation with owner of the salon, Sonya, who reached out after reading my review. I got a sincere apology and an explanation that my situation was very atypical, which I would like to believe to be true, considering the average customer rating of the salon. Ultimately, I think that the fact that the owner genuinely cares about customer experience and feedback is a very good sign and an indicator that this business is striving to continuously improve. We all learn and grow from mistakes, as long as there is a desire to do so. Thank you for restoring my faith in humanity and I sincerely wish you all the best :)

And one side is visibly longer than the other, thank you very much My cut was done by Emily, and I’m not saying it’s bad, it’s just not what I wanted - I asked for a layered haircut, and got a long bob. It’s shorter than I wanted and the layers are not all over, they are just around my face. I’m still gonna rock it, but as I had really long hair and wanted a particular cut, I’m kinda sad. And it’s not that I was quietly sitting while she was doing it, I did communicate my concerns, which led to only making my hair even shorter.

I went to see the amazing Richie yesterday for a colour correction service and my morning could not have started off worse. I had an extremely rough morning with car problems and was over 30 minutes late to my appointment. As soon as I got to the salon the staff were all extremely warm and welcoming, listened to me as I told them why I was so late and totally understood me and honestly just walking in there and being welcomed so warmly turned around my day completely. They gave me a hot cup of peppermint tea which is exactly what I needed in this super gloomy weather. The vibe of the salon is so easy going that I instantly felt calm and relaxed. As soon as I met Richie even though I was so late he took his time not only to get to know me but also my hair. A little over a week ago I had gotten a balayage service done and had specifically mentioned to the hairdresser that I wanted something that would suit my skin tone, grow out seamlessly and be low maintenance. I had waited over a year to colour my hair again and ensured my hair was in the best possible shape before I got it coloured and was extremely disappointed when my hair turned out nothing like I expected. The hairdresser I went did not even show me a colour book. My hair is a dark brown almost black colour and I had a harsh blonde balayage which in reality looked like grown out highlights and. I didn't even feel like myself and was wearing my hair in a bun hiding the colour until I saw Richie. Prior to seeing Richie I consulted another mall stylist and explained the issue I was having and they said my hair looked fine and did not understand what I was trying to explain at all. From the minute I called Evolve, I felt heard, understood and important, they took their time to hear what I had to say and get me the services I needed. After explaining what was going on with my hair and how frustrated and unhappy I was with it currently, Richie completely understood and took his time to figure out what I couldn't get into words. He said my hair looked unfinished which is exactly what I was trying to explain, it was blocky, the colour wasn't the same all over and it was just too harsh for my skin tone and against my natural roots. He completely understood and took his time to explain what he thought would be best to make me feel comfortable with my hair again, he showed me a colour book and explained everything to me step by step and answered all my questions thoroughly. We looked at different more suitable colour options and treatments to protect the health of my hair which was a priority for him as well. Richie is a tell it as it is person, he did not make false promises or make me add on services that were unnecessary. He understood what I wanted and we made a plan together for how to achieve that goal. He was extremely knowledgeable about all the products used in my hair and was able to explain the science behind these products, the ingredients and why he had chosen those for my hair. I left the salon at 2 hours later after Richie fixed my hair and I was in awe of the transformation. Richie styled my hair beautifully and made me feel like a model with the pictures we took afterwards. Richie is so passionate about his work and truly values the client experience and his goal was to make sure I left happy and I have been in love with my hair ever since. It feels soft and healthy even after 2 colour services a week apart, the colour is exactly what I had envisioned and he styled it so beautifully that I can't stop showing it off and taking pictures. Richie truly made me feel heard and confident again and for that I am so thankful to have found him. My hair is a big part of who I am, my personality, my style and it affects my confidence and how I see myself and Richie understood that and his passion for his work shined during my service. I am amazed and grateful. Thank you Richie! :)

Kristen is great! I asked for a fluffy blowdry with volume and that's what I got! She listened and delivered. I would highly recommend her. And the hot towel treatment included with the blowdry is fab! After applying conditioner a hot towel is placed on your head. Super relaxing and helps condition your hair more. Products used didnt weigh my hair down which I also liked. Thanks Kristen!

Great experience! My boyfriend has been going here for years and is obsessed. I tried it out and booked with a new stylist Janet - she was great! I was worried new stylist meant 'first time cutting hair' but not the case!! She was very experienced and she did a great job taking my 12-inch long hair and chopping it all off to a modern, shoulder-length cut with lots of texture and shape. I had a shoulder length bob cut with Emily Barr about a month back. It was the first time ever that my hair was cut this short. I was quite scared but Emily did such a great job that my hair looks healthy and fresh. She took a little bit more than two hours to work with my hair but it was all worth it! She was very meticulous and careful at every step. I do not even have to style it, just wash and air dry and the hair looks fine, showing the shape nicely. And the days i style it, it looks just perfect! She did a great job cause I can change my parting, from left to right to middle and it still looks nice, my hair has the perfect amount of volume, even if i am putting it up. Received 1 hours notice that my appointment was cancelled with no clue of where else in the city I could go. Want to feel fabulous? Go to Evolve! I went to Evolve salon this past weekend for the first time and am SO glad I did. My preferences were incorporated by Candy, the colourist, and she gave me a clear understanding of what we would be able to accomplish in our visit and where we could go in the future. She made me feel secure with our choices. I had asked for a trim when booking, but after speaking with Sahil I went for more. He knew the layers I’d need based on my hair texture. Relaxed conversation & great head massage as my hair was washed. Sometimes when you go to a new salon you are shamed by your former salon’s products or cuts or —-. Not at Evolve. It was excellent customer service from start to finish. Great modern decor - minimalist & fab. Some wine as you settle in... I left feeling amazing :)

APPARENTLY the God of hair works at Evolve Hair studio and his name is Ryan. My virgin dirty blonde hair was transformed into a vintage blonde masterpiece. This is my third time coming to this place and every time for a different reason and its incredible. I have left every salon in tears before i found Evolve and now i have a Hair stylist who i feel 100% confident to go to any time. Also i had the best haircut by a redhead girl (im sorry i forgot the name) but ive never seen someone dedicate so much skill to every strand of hair. What can I say? This salon is everything. A trendy joint with good music, wine/tea galore, and a salon pup. Everyone is very welcoming and attentive, no pushy sales tactics. She has an amazing eye and is one of those intuitive people that knows exactly what you're going for! She also gave me a rough idea of cost before we started, which I always appreciate. Beautiful salon. Nice staff. And the scalp massage with my shampoo was amazing. But I went in last week to check out the hairdresser before getting my haircut. The girl I met is not the girl that cut my hair last night. And the girl that cut my hair last night made my angled bob request completely straight all the way around. She was really nice when she could see how disappointed I was in the cut, styling it beautifully… But it doesn’t take away from the fact that it wasn’t at all what we discussed or what I was expecting. After taking 8 inches off my hair, I will have to go even shorter if I want to get the cut I really wanted. :(

Used to see Sonia when I lived in the area. She's very talented. Never left unhappy. Very good at handling long, thick hair. Layers and side bangs always perfect. May have to make the long trek back to see her again soon so she can correct a recent hack job carried out on my hair! Salon is clean, all staff friendly and helpful. Online booking a huge plus and Meg who did most of the blow outs after my cuts knows the meaning of smooth and pin straight. Parking would be a bit tricky if you had to drive- some street parking metered right in front of salon or at the Sobeys. Right on the street car line though. Pricing for a women's wash cut and dry is much higher than when I first started going but Sonia is worth it. Have seen at least 3 other stylists after her in different locations and haven't been back to any of the others. Very hard to find a good stylist who knows her way around hair and Sonia definitely knows hair.

Be aware that you will be charged not based on the hair cut you get, but the hair cut you walk in with. I recieved a short barber style cut, but because I had a pixie cut when I walked in, I was charged for a pixie cut. I definitely got what their website describes as a Barber Length Cut, but was charged for a Pixie, because that's what I had walking in. I have never heard of this before: a salon charging based on the haircut you had before you got it cut. My hair was basically 90% shaved, and I was charged 100 dollars. I was already splurging on a more expensive haircut than I normally get, so was shocked when I saw that they were charging me for a pixie cut when I received a very short fade. It is another story that I didn't want a barber cut and recieved one (there was a major miscommunication with the stylist that I forgive them for). When I called to complain about the cut and the price, they offered me 10 dollars off my next visit, but I definitely don't want to go back to still be charge 90 dollars (with a discount) for a mostly shaved head. The receptionist I spoke to was very kind, but it was clear that that was the best I would be offered by the owners, so I didn't bother fighting further for any of my money back, since a decision had been made on their side. I am not the type to complain, typing this review upsets me. But I am on a limited budget and feel frankly stolen from. I both hated my haircut, and was charged for the cut I walked in with instead of the cut I left with. I had never encountered a salon that charges based on how much hair you have on your head when you arrive. So just be aware of this being how they charge. Edit: I'm not upset that I was given what is traditionally viewed as a "men's" haircut. I think being gender neutral is great. I'm upset that I was charged based on the amount of hair I had walking in, and not on the haircut I recieved. As stated, I recieved a barber cut, and was charged for a pixie cut. It has nothing to do with the perceived gender of the cut.

Beautiful space, really nice atmosphere, everyone is super welcoming and accommodating. I’ve had my hair cut by Emily the past 5 or 6 cuts. I only get it trimmed or cut 3 or 4 times a year. I’m a longer is better kinda girl. Emily finds the perfect balance of what the client wants and what the client needs. I have trust issues so it’s taken some time but now I just sit in her chair and say freshen it up, she’ll take a look at what she’s dealing with, detail what she thinks we should do, I say go for it, an hour later I walk away with perfect hair. I don’t see myself getting a cut from anyone else any time soon. I’ve recently gone into a loose face-framing fringe situation which is risky with my curly/wavy hair and I can’t believe I never tried this sooner! (Or that any other stylist suggested it.) I feel so good about my hair whether it’s just washed and styled or next day curls or up in a ponytail. Thank you Emily!

You'll get your money's worth, I know I did. I got my hair done by Kristen and she was impressive through and through. Though it was just a haircut, it was very relaxing, she washed my hair with warm water and gave me a short massage in the process! IT FELT AMAZING! Especially when you got a stressed out head. My experience with Kristen as a hairstylist was absolutely amazing! She took the time to listen to my hair problems and used products on my hair to solve the problem, she recommended what I needed for hair maintenance and hair care, and now I'm just in love with the new look she did! My experience with evolve has been phenomenal, definitely coming back and have Kristen take care of my hair.

I’ve been going to Evolve for 4 years and love every visit. Recently I was introduced to the heated defense / protector because I style my hair often with very hot tools. Although I truly love all the products they have recommended and use them religiously (obsessed with Doo-over = big happy hair) , the heat defence has made the most impact in my overall hair health (and confidence!) I went in due to my hair being damaged with dead/split ends. I had not been to a hair stylist in years due to a very bad experience. Ryan was amazing and understanding; he not only fixedly hair but gave me advice on safer styling and care. Ryan also kept me calm, explained everything very well and gave me back my alternative grunge style without losing the length. I just discovered Evolve Hair Salon and had the best experience. First of all they really take their precautions in times of covid to make you feel safe. The studio has a super relaxed and welcoming vibe (the music playlist is so good!!) which gives you this feeling that you knocked on the right door. I had a hair cut by Meg a couple of weeks ago and loved what she did to my hair. I went back to Evolve to have my highlights done by Candy. She is the best! Last November I visited Evolve Hair Studio and wanted to share my 10/10 experience with both my hairstylist, Richie, and the salon itself! I was completely blown away with Richie and what he did to my hair. I hadn't had highlights or a cut in a very long time and when I had my consultation with Richie, I explained how particular I am with the colour of blonde I like and how I need lots of little highlights put in my hair as I have very fine hair and also like a natural look. Richie was very understanding, he listened carefully to my requests (and to my stories while he was putting my highlights in, lol) and very patient as my highlights take awhile. He executed perfectly and my highlights were gorgeous. Not to mention, he was extremely knowledgable on the process itself and explained each product he used in my hair! When it came time to my cut, I needed a good three inches taken off, and he suggested a certain cut that would be flattering for my fine hair. Let me tell you, it turned out absolutely AMAZING. I received many compliments on my new cut and not only did my hair feel a lot healthier, but it looked and felt a lot fuller too! The salon itself, is in a great location and easy to find. The inside is gorgeous, extremely well-kept and clean. They also use top-notch products and give you the best advice on which product(s) to take home with you that work best on your hair, but aren't in your face pressuring you to purchase them (like I've experienced in other salons). I walked out feeling SO much better thanks to Richie and Evolve. I highly recommend both to anyone looking for a hairstylist and salon that are not only professional and knowledgeable, but so friendly and welcoming from start to finish!

From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted promptly and warmly - everyone is super friendly and very welcoming. I had my hair highlighted and toned by Ryan Collins - my new hair god. He had some assistance from the lovely ladies of Evolve, who were also amazing (he's a busy guy!!) Ryan is a talented artist and is such an amazing soul! He went over what I wanted done and the process to achieve my dream colour; he went over products that would be used, after care and the process overall. He's very passionate about his work and created the exact look I wanted and so much more. He definitely puts his heart into what he does. I am beyond thrilled about the refreshing blonde look he created for me - I am definitely a Ryan Collins customer, I will be going back to him for all my hair style & colour needs. 5+ stars for Ryan and Evolve!!

If I can rate 0 stars for my experience with Evolve Hair Studio than I would. I had a 15 minute consultation with Carolyn last week, and she seemed nice. However, after talking to Carolyn about what I would like done with my hair she recommended I use Candy instead, and Candy would follow up. After not being told when I would hear from Candy, I called the salon and I spoke to Natalie. No apologies from Natalie about why Candy didn't bother to reach out. All Natalie said to me was we'll keep in touch! Do you say this to all your potential clients? I am completely dissatisfied with the service I received from Natalie and I' I'm going elsewhere, and hopefully I will find a salon that is eager enough to take me as a client!

I have had a long history of bad experiences at salons with hairdressers who simply weren't able to give my hair the type of cut it needs to give my curls their time to shine. Meg was informative, cheerful, adept, yet also quick with my first appointment here. It was one of the few times I loved the end result, and didn't just nod my head with horrifying acceptance about what I had to live with for the next couple months. While it was clear that she was quite busy that day with other matters in the salon, I never felt as though my appointment was being brushed aside. The other staff are quite nice as well, always offering refreshments if wanted. 10/10 would be stuffed full of tea again.

I have just come out of this salon and feel transformed! Big words however, I have had hair extensions in the U.K. since 2012 with no break. I am now living in Toronto and cannot handle the faff and maintenance. I booked an appointment but had to have a consultation first. A first for me! Never in the U.K. have I had a thorough consultation for free! They want to ascertain whether what you are looking for is what they can achieve and I loved that. Put my trust in Jody and Sonia. I went today feeling sick as changing not only colour but thick extensions to my own hair. I have seen it without extensions and it isn’t good. Anyway, Jody put me at ease straight away and her time and attention to the colour was unbelievable. She knew intuitively what colour I wanted and I was over the moon with the results. Then came the cut... big deal as I know my own fine hair... I do not know how she did it but Sonia had made my fine unmanageable hair look thick and healthy. Both of them are so knowledgable. They know hair! They know what looks good! And they listen..... they won’t do anything you don’t feel comfortable with and that is über refreshing to me! A genius in colour Jody and a master of cut Sonia. I wouldn’t ever go anywhere else! The best I have ever had EVER!

Worst customer experience I have came across. I went to the salon to get hair dusting as advertised on their website. The salon owner wasn't happy to service and kept pushing other services and products and made me feel very uncomfortable. She probably spent about 10 minutes on my hair and 30 mins on preaching on hair care and pushing products. There are many great hair salons in Toronto who are happy to service their customers with their needs - this is not one of them.

Very uncomfortable atmosphere. Never been in a salon with such a sales based practice. They tried to sell me so many expensive products and pushed them so hard it was uncomfortable. Some staff is incredibly nice and some are very rude. Just can’t rate it well seeing as it’s quite pricey already, AND they push you so hard to buy more. I like my salons to be relaxing and this is far from it!

I have been going to Sonia for about 6 years now and have never left her chair dissappointed. So when Sonia and Jody decided to open up their own salon of course I followed! Their new location is easy to get to and a huge plus for me is that there is parking available. Upon entering the salon you will notice their fantastic decor and will right away be offered a beverage of choice. One of my favorite things about Evolve is the flavored water that the ladies make themselves... so refreshing! I recently visited the salon and very nervously let them know that I wanted to go blonde. They were very reassuring and as always very professional. I showed them a picture of the colour of blonde I was looking for and Jody got it spot on! I am happy to report that I am loving the lighter hair colour (something I havent done for years!) and have recieved so many compliments on it. I recently referred a friend to Evolve as well and I have 100% confidence that Jody and Sonia will have her leaving feeling beautiful and satisfied like I always do.

I have been dyeing my hair for a long time... Asian black hair to cool blonde has always been the goal, but not sure it was ever achieved until now. I needed an appointment within the week - got it only because someone cancelled (book SOON people!). That means I couldn't choose who to get but that's fine because based on all the reviews and Instagram pictures they're all really talented. I have to say that the care and quality trumps any other place I've been to - not once did I feel like I was on a production line or being rushed even though she had another client (I had Whitney) - an assistant took over and did a fantastic, really quality job on curling my hair. Your experience will go as follows: you walk in, they offer you fruit-infused water, lovely foamy (if you wish) coffee, or red/white wine - all complimentary. Then they go through what's realistic for your hair or not. And Whitney is super talented - I had a mix of highlights and balayage, but she took the time to explain which way the strokes might go to better frame my face, each section of hair wasn't rushed (but she works FAST as hell) and suggested what would work, what wouldn't (I needed the Brazilian Bond Builder + extra toner) so that I could achieve everything I wanted - or as close as possible. Her next client was up after all the washing but the assistant - out of my own fear of breaking hair - sprayed heat protectant on each strand of my hair before treating it. After the heat, ammonia, and all that jazz, my hair still feels fine! I'm so glad I found Evolve, everyone's really nice, they've got quality service and they do a fantastic job on your hair. Wow!! Such a friendly & fantastic salon. I had a video consultation before I went in so the stylist already knew what I wanted and how he could achieve it. This place just opened up in my neighbourhood, and i walked by while they were having their grand opening party, it was packed with hot beautiful women so it deffinetly got my attention. I booked an appointment with Jody for my next cut to try it out. When i came in i was greated by all who work there, took my coat, and offered me a beverage. Made me feel welcome. I sat in the chair with jody as she played with my hair asking me what i was looking to do, I discribed what i wanted and she took me to the washing station. She gave me the best, relaxing head massage, while she shampooed and conditioned my hair. I practically fell asleep in the chair!! I will go back just for that head massage!! but after my wash she went to work, the finshed cut was awesome!!! great texture, clean cut, conservative yet fashionable...i loved it as i'm a sales executive so great style for work, and can get a little fashion forward for a night out on King west. when it was time to pay...it was extremely affordable $40!! I've paid double and haven't been this happy!!! check it out, you won't be disappointed.

I've been coming to this salon for over 2 years now and every time I leave I'm more and more impressed with my hair. This past week, not only did Ryan absolutely kill it with my highlights but he also listened to my concerns about my hair and answered any questions I had. Already looking forward to my next appointment. Meg cuts my hair and she's an absolute magician with those scissors. Carolyn has styled my hair several times and I cannot tell you how good those waves turn out. Everyone here is always so kind and welcoming, it's truly an enjoyable experience coming to evolve because you leave your appointment feeling so good about yourself.

I was recommended to this Salon from a friend. My first time at this Salon and without a doubt the staff were charming and offered refreshment for my wait. The cute, yet modern feel from the Salon made me feel at home. Meg was my stylist and she absolutely listened to what I needed. I didn’t say much, she just knew what cut and how much length to take off (since I had the MANY experiences of having my hair cut MORE than what I need). Meg took her time, and mentioned every step of what she’ll do next. I love my curtain bangs and the cut she did. Very knowledgeable without question and spoke with enthusiasm about the Kevin Murphy products. I’ll be seeing them soon :)
