Tried for the first time. Staff are friendly and the place is cute. The haircut felt good fresh, but after I got home and brushed it myself, I see left side longer and thinner vs right, and the top layer at the back is so short that it looks like jellyfish cut (they didn’t show me the look from the back). Furthermore it was advertised online as $55, but when it came to paying, it was a shocking $80. Reason being, I got a senior stylist rather than a junior one... Feel cheated. Maybe they‘ve got enough loyal customers that they don’t need new ones.

I used to go to see Corinne fairly regularly, however since I've moved to Toronto I really miss her talents! Her colour skills are incredible, she always did my root touch up with a combo of lowlights & highlights and I have never seen anyone who has even come close to her abilities! I highly recommend her if you have dry, over processed hair, with gray who wants it all covered and blended naturally, with the shine put back in and her deep condition treatment. You will be very happy with the results!

I’ve been seeing Corene at Shear Bliss for almost 15 years now. In those 15 years I’ve had short, medium, and long hair, bangs and no bangs. I’ve dyed my hair everything from brown, to dirty blonde, to platinum, to red, to now strawberry blonde. Throughout this hair journey Corene has been professional, kind, and flawlessly executed every hair cut and colour combo I’ve envisioned! She’s been so great that now almost every member of my household (including my dad) sees her to get their hair done. I highly recommend Shear Bliss to everyone for friendly, affordable, quality hair styling!

Completely unimpressed. Went in with my sister who received a quick, even, basic undercut hair shave with a 1inch trim of her already short hair. Came to my turn and the basic undercut shave went fine. I asked for an undercut design which I’ve gotten at different places every time without any problems prior, it’s pretty basic and I don’t care about it being exact, just the similar and of the same quality. I received something completely different with uneven, unclean lines that don’t match up. It’s unsymmetrical, rushed, and overall sloppy. I didn’t see this until the end when I was already upset by what followed. I routinely get the ends of my long hair trimmed to keep it relatively healthy (something i struggle with due to chronic health issues). No different to any other appointment I asked for a 1 inch trim off of the ends. I received something completely different. Started fine, she used a razor and comb to do the first half of my head. Got to my left side and she decided to remove at least 6 inches of hair. I told her to stop, cried, and in the end had to remove an equal amount from the rest of my hair leaving it much shorter then I ever would have wanted. I hate it. It’s also uneven. Left half of my head is above shoulder length, right is bellow, there’s about a 3 inch difference. I am upset, angry and sad. I do not suggest this place nor will I ever go again. Pictured is the undercut. Left is what I got, right is what I’ve had in the past. I will have to shave it down without a blade to remove the embarrassing pattern. The rest of my hair is something only time can fix.

There's a really good colour technician located at this hair salon. Her name is Mojan, she has given me great hair cuts for many years. And lately she's given me a great platinum blond look and has given me a step by step in how to take care of my hair for the future when I'm home without a hairstylist. Love her!! Highly recommend.

I'm 25 and I've been going to Athena at Shear Bliss since I was 10 years old. I had a difficult time trusting anybody else with my mane whenever I lived outside of the country. It's great to be back and have somebody I can trust with my mop. They have always given great service, and I always feel like family at this studio. I highly recommend them to anybody looking for a good cut.

My wife and I got hair cut. We asked for 2 very straightforward styles and showed picture, she didn't deliver either of them. Cut the hair too short and left it with no style at all. I told her that we are unhappy and this is not what we asked for but she didn't offer anything

Very cool boutique Barber shop in West Van. Its right beside the Squarigger pub so if you drop in and have to wait for a bit you can wait at the bar and have a pint and they will come grab you when they are ready for it. Pretty awesome! I use Athena when I go there. Great staff, cool location and the pre haircut beer makes for an awesome experience.

Last week I bit the bullet and decided to get my hair done. I have never been to a salon in West Van although I had previously lived there for a decade. I decided upon Shear Bliss as I have met Corene a few times. The lovely stylist who took care of me was Fatima. WOW! She is amazing! She took one look at my hair and had her vision within seconds. She explained in detail what she thought would suit me, and off we went (and off went 8 inches of my massive hair). I have had streaks/colour in my hair only once, and now that a few greys are appearing, I mentioned that. She strategically got rid of those right away. She also gave me dark and light colour to "shadow" my cut. I wasn't sure what that meant, but now I get it: she's an artist and had a vision that works! I am so happy I went to Shear Bliss. Corene is a caring sweetheart and has a great bond with her regular clients as I could see (and hear) from my time in the chair. Fatima is a very talented and passionate stylist. She LOVES doing hair and it shows. My cut and colour are amazing and I highly recommend checking them out. By the way, not only women! I noticed they did a little remodelling and have a barbershop on the first floor and the salon for ladies upstairs. Well worth the visit to West Van!!!

Delighted with my cut from Shear Bliss. Arita does a fantastic job with my hair, which is fine and wavy, and takes the time required to make sure I'm completely happy with the cut. The salon has a great location in a pretty courtyard just off Marine Drive in Ambleside - it's got a super-friendly feel to it and is bright and welcoming. "Shear Bliss" indeed!

Some staff need to take the training of how to perform polite. Made an appointment today but a lady called for changing time 15min earlier. I just replied sorry I can’t, she hanged up the phone directly. Called the salon back to ask what does she mean? Should I go there or not? The lady said ok and hanged up again... Tried to call them for cancellation, they don’t other to pick up the phone. Hanged up directly. Now you see the cancellation here. Bye forever.

I have been going to Shear Bliss for over a year now. I was happy to go back after they re-opened and felt totally comfortable being here during my appointments. Corene and her staff have gone above and beyond in meeting the Covid-19 health guideline check-list as necessary, which immediately put my mind at ease, for both my hair appointments with Shirin, who always does a great job, and my nail appointments with Darlene at Nailz, who is a master nail-tech and artist. If you have been feeling reluctant to get your hair or nails done come here! Clean, friendly, professional, safe and LOCAL!! You will not be disappointed.
