I used to just cut my own hair with a set of clippers. Then I got a haircut at So Chiq. Now my girlfriend won't let me cut my own hair anymore. Joke's on her though, because now strange women randomly ask me for my number. For realz. The good people at So Chiq are professional and friendly, and are always able to give me exactly what I want. A haircut with Johnny is an EXPERIENCE, and though it costs a little more then just clipping my own hair, it's well worth it.

I have been seeing Vicky here for two years and it's been quite the step up. Vicky really knows what she's doing. She is the best colorist in Waterloo. I constantly get compliments. My hair has been so healthy I have finally been able to achieve the length I wanted. The salon itself also has a nice atmosphere. Laid back but professional. All the other work I see going on is fabulous as well. A quality color is worth the price trust me.

Looking at the great reviews, I wanted to try this place out and regretted after my hair cut. I have curly hairs that are challenging to tame. I clearly explained to the stylist what I wanted and she seemed to have understood me from the way she responded. However, the end result was certainly disappointing as my hair did not look any other different than being just trimmed. Will not recommend this place if you have curly hairs.

I had trouble finding a good salon in Waterloo but So Chiq has been my go to now for a couple years. They’re always so friendly and professional, especially during COVID times. Wenonah has been my stylist for the last year now and she has done wonders for my hair! I always know I can go to her with pretty much any request and it’ll end up looking amazing. Last time I went, she even gave me tips and tricks to keep my hair looking amazing after the salon which I majorly appreciate. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a great salon - it is very fairly priced too!

I've only come in contact with this place recently. My wife told me they did a great job. My hair is kinda all over the place, very flimsy and hard to work with. I figured if they can do something with my hair, they must be good. I went in, people were super friendly, place looks fantastic and inviting. They took care of me while there. They ask if you want something to drink while you wait. They take their time to make sure you're happy with your haircut. That's amazing and btw, you gotta go and get Georgiana to take care of you. Lovely lady, always smiling and amazing hair dresser. She did so well with my hair. She's fantastic!!

I'll be going back for sure. Update: May 1, 2019 - After a couple of visits, I discovered the reasonable price was a promotional price so I have reduced my haircuts to once or twice a year. It's too bad, I had really thought I discovered a reasonable place to get my hair done every 8 weeks. I think I'll wait for the next promotional price before I go back.

The So Chiq Studio has easily become my favourite salon to get my hair cut and coloured. If you're looking for a new colour ask for Taylor as she is an absolute magician with hair dye. I've asked for blonde, vibrant red, and most recently a darker red/brown combo and Taylor always meets and exceeds my expectations with the resulting masterpiece. Highly recommend!

This salon, or more specifically Cassandra, is great! I've been going to Cassandra for cuts and perms for a couple of years now..she's done a great job of straight cuts, and really knew how to cut my curlier permed hair. Perms were sooooo much less damaging when she did it. I ended up completely re-perming my hair 3 times as I fell in love with the curl, which you would think would be SUPER damaging, but it's barely damaged at all/still very soft. She's wonder woman, go to her!

I had the Spa Radiance Facial with Debbie today and it was amazing! I was so relaxed during the facial, the massage was awesome and my skin feels and looks so clean, smooth and bright. I went to meet with Cassandra after a couple of botched dye sessions at other salons. I went in with completely unwanted purple hair, and left with a gorgeous auburn. Cassandra listened to my concerns and ideas, while contributing some of her own. This helped establish trust, which is one of the most important things when letting someone play with your hair. I walked in feeling pretty gross, and left feeling fabulous. Winona was a great help as well. It was a great experience and I will definitely be back.
