As an east coast transplant, it was so difficult to locate a salon and stylist that I liked in Vancouver. After being introduced to Heartbreaker Salon through a friend, I soon realized it was the right environment for me. I've now been a client of Jamie's for the past few years. From colouring, styling, to cutting - Jamie rocks! Awe, I place so much value on trusting and feeling comfortable with a hairstylist and Jaime ticks all of the boxes. If you're looking for a stylist that can listen, is trustworthy and has immense talent/understanding for everything hair, I suggest making an appointment with Jamie.

Melissa is my go to and I have sent her a lot of friends and clients to her with absolute confidence, they will have the best cut and color they've ever experienced. Another part of why I love Melissa as a stylist is that she is always staying current with education which I find a lot of stylists give up on. I give 5 stars across the board.

I've been cutting my own hair for a few years so a friend thought it would be nice to treat me to a professional haircut and found a groupon for Heartbreaker Salon. I would recommend that people bring a photo of the haircut they want or be prepared to provide complete direction on a style because I relied on the stylist and all I got was my hair cut straight across with no layers or style. I asked her to help with my bangs which were pretty grown out and she only trimmed them a tiny bit. I asked for a haircut that was different than how I had been cutting it myself and left with the same haircut I came in with, only cut straight across at the bottom. Maybe the sad haircut was because it has been so long since I have been to a professional salon and was not expecting to have to negotiate for a haircut or because I came with a groupon. I would not say the groupon was honored because it indicated it was for a wash-cut-blowdry-style and there was no styling in any way and the cut was not of the quality I would expect from a professional salon. The haircut I received would be better described as a trim. The wash was nice, the products smelled nice, she did blow dry my hair and technically there was a haircut although it was as simple as a haircut can get. What I received was a wash-trim-blowdry, not what was paid for on the groupon. I would not say the experience was worth the price of the groupon. I would recommend if people are paying full price that they prepare to haggle and provide complete direction to get a full haircut, otherwise they may do the barest minimum of a haircut as was my experience. I've had really great haircuts by having stylists recommend haircuts for me and was really hoping this salon had style to share, but that was not the case. None of my friends or coworkers believed that I had gone to a salon to get my haircut because my hair looked identical to before I had gone to Heartbreakers. The atmosphere of the salon was nice, so it feels bad to complain to get what you paid for. If you want them to do more than trim your hair you will need to do more than ask. Be prepared to provide complete direction and negotiate, which ruins the mood, but so does a sad haircut if you don't persist in getting a better one as I now know all too well.

I absolutely love coming to this salon and getting my hair done by Serrah! When I first came to see her I had no idea what I wanted, I just wanted change. I put my trust in her and I was and still am so happy. She is easy to talk to and has been so amazing to me from the beginning. My hair is thinning on the front and Serrah has been helping me with that. She has been making it a little less noticeable to me and helping to steer my thoughts away from it, she is truly amazing. I highly recommend this salon, its so nice, clean and relaxing. All the other people that work here have always been super friendly and have done some wicked styles on others. I've never had a problem finding a parking spot right outside and its conveniently located. 100% recommend this Salon!

We love Heartbreaker! Clean, stylish and friendly and most importantly, excellent haircuts! Melissa Majeran has been my hairstylist for ... 15 years? I will follow her wherever she goes! She is a master stylist, highly skilled, professional and has years of experience teaching for various hair companies, and doing hair for fashion shows, too. She always gives me honest feedback and advice about my hair's changing texture and colour as I age, and the haircuts she gives me always grow out in a way that still feels like a fresh cut a few months later. She also has been cutting my son's hair since his very first haircut at age 1. You can also phone in and get a quick bang trim, as well - no charge, but of course you must tip :P We've been going to Heartbreaker since it first opened, a great salon.

For years now I've been going to see Janine for a haircut. The first time I went to see her, I told her that I've been cutting my own hair for months. She took one look at my hair, smiled and said "I can tell." I laughed and appreciated her honesty. She proceeded to cut my hair and gave me some pretty unique and awesome styling tips. Once I saw the haircut she gave me, I was immediately impressed. At that point, It was the best haircut I have ever gotten in my life. I had to swallow my pride and realize my self haircutting dream was dead. I couldn't go back to cutting my own hair. Back then she worked in a different Salon. It was good, but not worthy of her skills. I recently visited Janine at her new place of work, the Heartbreaker Salon. The Salon is beautiful and It's a great fit for her skills. The atmosphere is nice and chill. As you walk through the front door it almost feels like home. I am looking forward to my next visit!

She’s definitely a colour expert- while many other salons have caused damaging breakage doing highlights for my blonde hair, she knows exactly what products to use to care for my fine hair, and it’s the healthiest it’s ever been. After waking up in the morning and feeling decidedly unimpressed with my hair and ready for a change, I booked an appointment and 2 hours later I was walking out with texture, layers and feeling a whole lot more like myself! I've been going to Heartbreaker for several years now and I could not recommend Heidi enough. She can do a great barbershop style cut with an excellent fade and she's always willing to encourage my wild colouring and cut ideas. Colours are always bright, vibrant, and Heidi is always able and willing to provide education to help the colour last. Product education is top notch too, not only does she tell me what she's using and what it does, but the reasoning why it's good for my hair type/style. I’ve been coming to heartbreaker salon for my regular cut for a while now. I honestly would not trust anyone else with my hair! I have never color/chemical treated my hair before so I only come in for a fresh trim/cut every now and then but my go to has always been Jamie. She is really skilled and always gives me exactly the cut and style I want. I’ve gotten so many compliments on my hair after I leave the salon :). She really goes above and beyond for all her clients and her customer service is impeccable. She doesn’t pressure her clients into any added on services or products and really makes you feel welcome and taken care of. She’s highly educated and knowledgeable in all her services and does an amazing job in explaining everything thoroughly. Even if you’re like me and only need a cut, she still makes sure to give you tips and tricks on how to care for your hair so it always stays healthy. The salon itself is super clean and chic. Nichole is my go-to for haircuts. I've had many stylists struggle with giving me a haircut that would continue to look good as it grew out given my inconsistent hair thickness. She gives a great cut and thins it appropriately to stop it growing out blocky on the sides . Highly recommend if you experience similar types of issues; just be clear in what issues you normally experience and she'll get it right.
