Amazing experience, friendly and professional staff who listened to exactly what I wanted, price was totally fair, and I loved the final look. I felt like they made the effort to completely understand what I wanted and paid close attention to it (unlike other salons which I feel rush it and don't take the time to understand their clients). I love this place. My new go to!! Easy access from transit, wonderful friendly female staff, and had Holly trim and treat my hair with the Cezanne Hair treatment. My hair felt incredible and the price was just about right for going rate. Clean and beautiful space, will 100% be going back to see Holly again.

Such an upbeat, chic spot with friendly and down to earth women. You really feel at home here... If your home was luxurious but not pretentious. My hair has never felt so good after being shampooed with the product that Brixton Parlour carries, so much that I am tempted to buy it for at home. Can't say enough good things about the colour job that Nicolette did! Love it.

I was nervous with the restrictions but it felt as normal as possible! The salon is beautiful and welcoming. Delaynie is by far one of the best stylist and colourist I have had! Although my stylist was nice, I did not feel like I received "value" for the money spent at the salon. My cut and style was literally 10 minutes, with fairly little amount of consultantation of what can be done with my hair. I spent approx. 90 dollars. I do not mind the price point, I am more so expressing that I did not feel the service that I have received matched what I expected. My ends were somewhat clean, but the length was pretty uneven. She's experienced, yes, but was not interested in serving me as a customer, maybe because it was the end of the day... I did not feel that the stylist understood what I needed. Yes a clean up, but it was not a clean job. I see that the salon does a good job when it comes to complex colouring work, but if you're looking for a cut and style or a hairdresser that will take more initiative towards your hair goals, I simply don't think this is the place. Although I do want to stress that the place was clean, and the stylist was a nice person, courteous. I really wanted to give a five out of five, but what my family and friends have pointed out about my hair the next day was rather not pleasant and quite frankly embarrassing (to me that is - i.e. uneven length), given how much I hyped up the place before using it.

Made an appointment at Brixton Parlour based on excellent reviews and location. I called to see if there was earlier availability and the friendly person on the phone moved my appointment. Nicolette did an excellent job. I told her what I wanted but also added “do what you think is right”. The results were great. She is also very friendly and a pleasure to speak with during the appointment.

She gave me a complimentary shampoo so I could trial their special scalp treatment. True customer service.

I have had the worst hair experiences ever, when I met Nicolette I was tight for money at the time (I was a masters student). When she gave me the quote and a year treatment plan I was sort of thrown off, I wanted it all done that day and didn't want to pay $300. I ended up going somewhere else & they "fixed" my hair for $200 and it was awful, I went back to Brixton last week and she remembered me right away and said "welcome back babe". She laughed when I was embarrassed that I went somewhere else and reassured me that it was all good. She ended up giving me a deal because of my situation and that I went somewhere else and wasn't happy. Needless to say that I was very impressed with their kindness and patience. Thank you for helping me! I can't wait for the next appt!

I am very happy with the service at Brixton Parlour. My hairstylist Morgan did a great job on my haircut, and totally transformed my look (much needed after lockdown). Morgan was very helpful during consultation, she understood what I want to do with my hair. Morgan spent a fair amount of time consulting, washing, cutting and blowdrying my hair. This place has set bars too high, and I would not go anywhere else. I've already set up a second appointment in advance.

This is the worst dye job I have EVER had. I have been dying my hair for over 12 years, and came to your salon out of desperation as my usual hairdressers were not available and I had a last minute function. I curse the day i walked into the salon, and put my BLONDE in the hands of such amateurs. I tried not to judge how inexperienced they appeared during my time at the salon. The woman who seemed to be in charge had zero idea what she was doing as she was second guessing the process she was taking my hair through and whispering to her co-worker for advice; when i asked what was going on all she kept saying was dont worry just taking longer than expected and continued to blame the lengthly process on the lack of care my previous hairdresser had (which is far from true). I never post any reviews online but i felt the NEED and responsibility to save future customers from RUINING their hair here, and having to overpay for it too. I dont want to even give this place one star but google wont let me post anything lower.

I have recommended her to ALL of my friends and family. She has always been friendly, welcoming, honest, professional, AND fun to hang out with for a few hours while she works her magic. The salon itself is also very warm and inviting, and it doesn’t hurt to be offered a nice hot cup of coffee while you’re getting pampered. Overall, best experience BY FAR!!!!

I come here with my son regularly for his haircuts. He used to love them and was always given a quality haircut that he liked and asked for. Now that there has been a change of management and a turnover of employees, the quality of haircuts has gone down and my son now does not like to go here. We also have noticed a "heavy" feeling in the air when the manager is around.

Nicolette is the BEST - always makes me the perfect shade of blonde, never brassy/orangey, always natural. I’ve tried a few places, and she’s the most consistent colourist, never rushes and is a fun person to spend a few hours with! The rest of the Brixton staff are great too - a really wonderful team of experts and would highly recommend.

Lovely looking salon, but I was less than pleased with a situation today. I took my two girls (13 & 7) for haircuts...their first cuts at a grown-up (non-kiddie) salon. I hadn't been to Brixton Parlour previously, but had walked by a number of times, and thought I would give it a try in my search for a new salon. I made the two consecutive appointments online with one particular stylist. I received an e-mail confirmation as well as a telephone confirmation of these appointments. I arrived with my older daughter first (as my younger daughter was across the street at camp). As she was 13 years, she fell into the "adult-pricing" category (over $100 before tax/tip for two kids). The stylist cut her hair, and then asked if she wanted it blown dry or left to dry naturally (same price regardless of which I chose). When she was done, I left for about 7 minutes to get my younger daughter from across the street. I arrived back at the salon with plenty of time for my second child's appointment, only to be told that another stylist (not the one I had made the appointment with) would be cutting her hair, as the first stylist was on a "break". This left me bewildered, as I had specifically made the appointments for both girls with the same stylist. When I probed, I was told that the first stylist had "double booked" and had fallen behind, and therefore did not take a lunch break earlier, so was taking this break during my child's scheduled appointment time. BTW...my 7-year old had her hair washed/cut in less than 20 minutes, so I am confused about why the switch was really necessary. Now....this is not to say that I was not pleased with the haircuts, or with the second stylist. I had no reason to believe that the second stylist would be less-than-skilled, as it was my first time to this salon and I hadn't had experience with either of the two stylists. When I expressed confusion, the salon offered to call back the first stylist from break, but at that point I just wanted to: 1) have the cut completed so I could be on my way and 2) not offend the second stylist. So I said that it was not necessary and I allowed the second stylist to cut her hair. This is the main reason I only gave this salon 3 stars, as I felt this was unprofessional and I was left wondering if they would have done the same had the customer been an adult, rather than a 7-year old. I will say that the interior of the salon is lovely, and they stock lovely hair-care products, but because of what happened today, I won't be returning.
