So, I am a mixed race woman living in Montreal. I moved here 6 yrs ago, and since that first month I have been trying to find the right hair salon for me. My hairdresser back home in Ontario had been doing my hair for 15yrs. She knew her products, knew her job, and had major pride in her work. I have been trying to find someone like this since I got here. I really thought this one was it. They're FB reviews are great, as is their website reviews. It took me an hr and a half to get there as they are on the south shore, and I had to take public transit. Google Maps isn't up to date on their address, so I got lost. But that's not their fault at all. I guess I should start with the fact that I made an appt over a month in advance, but no one had ever called me to confirm. So I called again that morning to make sure I would be seen. My appt was for 4pm. I after getting lost, I get there and there are 2 hairstylists working, and each are braiding hair. I sat down to wait. I was super hungry after 30 min, so I asked if I had time to go and eat, and was told yes, but I should hurry back. (Total B.S). So I went to eat, got back and waited....and waited..... and waited. After an hr one of the hairstylists asked me what I was getting done, and I said relax, deep condition, style with a trim. She picked a relaxer I really didn't want, so I asked if I could choose my own. She asked what I'd like, and I stated Motions. She said ok, but never even got the box. She used her choice, even after I mentioned what I'd like. I waited 3.5 hrs for someone to work on me. I didn't leave because it had taken 1.5hrs to get there and I didn't have time to go anywhere else. This was for my wedding in a weeks time. I needed it done that day. So after all of the wait I was finally seen. She was just ok. I had to ask that she trim my hair as the last stylist I went to botched that, and I needed it to be fixed. In the end when I paid, it was $105. That's more than I've ever paid, especially for such a long wait, and a lack luster job. When I checked my email, I noted I was charged $15 to trim my ends. WHAT?? So you make me wait, and instead of having pride in your work, and making my hair look the best it could, you charged me to trim off my spit ends? B.S. AND she didn't even trim my bangs or make the left and right side match, I had to do it myself when I got home. If you're going to charge me to trim my hair, then do a damn good job. Lastly her assistant offered to drive me back to the metro. But you'd think if she offered she'd know where it is. Closest one is Bonaventure or Longueuil. She drove me all the way to D'Iberville. It took me longer to get home from the metro than it did to get to the damn salon. All in all, I will NOT be returning to this salon. My hair was pretty decent, and nice and silky. But the experience I had was extremely sub par. I am not happy at all with this place. Where are the salons that give a damn? Where is the pride in your work? Unacceptable.

As an expat, I was still going back to the States once a month for family visits, and to squeeze in hair care. We missed September's visit home, and I was getting desperate. I began searching for salons and this one had great reviews, showed pictures of ethnic and Euro hair, making me feel confident they could work on my hair, and it was close to home. I'm not even sure if the girls name who did my hair as she didn't speak English and I don't speak any French, but she was wonderful. Everything was done with care and a gentil have. I've been getting relaxers for years and this is the first time I can think of that I didn't get some chemical burn or irritation. She was very sweet, and I loved that she didn't continue to ask her co-worker to translate to me; she'd repeat a phrase after asking how to say a few words. Totally something I need to do better at myself! And let's talk about the washing and head massage... I was in 7th heaven. This was honestly one of the best experiences of professionalism I've ever encountered, and far beyond what I expected. The prices on the website are what I paid, and (maybe it's because I'm American) I didn't feel they were in anyway unfair. I'm definitely planning on returning next month, and will probably bring my daughter as well.

This lady (the owner) is full of herself. She always over charge people. I went there for box braids that was supposed to cost me $160 but guess what she end up charging me 250$ plus taxes. I was in shock and since she was already left I could not abviously discuss with her. She is dishonnest if you could stay away please do.
