Didn’t get what I want for my hair, I asked for a full head silver but only get half head and the color wasn’t even silver. After bleaching my hair they washed and brushed it way too hard that I felt like my hair was pulled out of my scalp, caused bunch of my hair was on the floor. After that my hair was dry like broomsticks no matter how much conditioner i used and the color only last for couple weeks since half of the hair that got bleached started falling out, and all that left was just my brown hair and patchy greyish yellowish colors. I get the point that asian hair is hard to lighten up but to be honest I bought bleach and color online and did my whole head bleach myself and it turned out way way better than the salon and my hair doesn’t even dry.

Safiya did an amazing job with my cut and blow dry. She brought life back into my hair and I’m so happy. It’s super soft, bouncy and suits my face. I can’t stop looking in the mirror! She is super knowledgeable and always provides high quality service. Her Salon has a bright and friendly environment and I always enjoy my visits. I moved to Niagara falls from Toronto about a year and a half ago. Been searching for a good hair salon since. I went to a couple of "hot spots" in downtown St.Catharines and let's just say the hype was not so real. Accidentally I came across Hair by Safiyaa on Instagram and decided to give her a call. She took me in for a consultation immediately and even though she was booked 3 months in advance, after letting her know the urgency of needing my hair done, she booked me in the next day (afterhours). She did balayage and a haircut for me. I cannot be more thrilled! My hair is gorgeous better than any salon I have ever been to (and let's just say I dont cheap out when it comes to hair). I am so thrilled to have met Safiyaa, she is very knowledgeable about her products (ended up purchasing 3), giving her honest opinion about the look I wanted and above all really went above and beyond to make a client happy happy happy. Like the girl opened her business afterhours just for me, can you say VIP whaaa?! Love my hair cannot wait to come back :) Thanks girl!

I must say Safiyaa professionalism sincerity, and integrity not only helped nourish my on going hair journey to health BUT also introduced me to new healthy hair habits and products that are legit life changing. You took the time to learn my hair type and its characteristics. I appreciate you and thank you for making me look and feel pretty again :).. p.s your silk pillow cases are the best I've ever tried (I've tried 4 different companies, saf's is the 5th) and not only is my hair more hydrated and less knots but my skin texture has improved and I don't break out anywhere near as much! Had such a great experience at Safiya's salon! Her and Jo were so welcoming the second I walked in. Safiya gave me exactly what I wanted and put a lot of thought and input into my hair colour. Safiya. Is. Absolutely. Amazing. Plain and simple, she exceeds expectations for hair results. Hairbysafiyaa is absolutely amazing and i will never go elsewhere. Reasonably priced for the time and effort put into her work, i have yet to hear a negative review. The studio is super homie and cozy, and Safiya made me feel so comfortable and welcome. It's very hard for me to trust people with my hair and after seeing her work on insta and results on my sister i needed to go see her. Let me say, she did not disappoint completely exceeded my expectations. I love my hair and feel so much more comfortable and confident in my own skin. I have been going to Safiya since 2014. I will follow her anywhere she goes, she does an amazing job and she’s honest about what results are realistic to achieve. Her prices are also reasonable for the work she does. I trust her 100% with my hair. I go to her twice or three times a year for cut and/or coloring. She’s the best!!!

I do not recommend hair by Safiya. I showed her and discussed what I wanted done to my hair, unfortunately she failed to deliver what was promised. First of all the colour and style is not what I wanted. Second of all her attitude afterwards was definitely not what any professional hair dresser would treat their customer. Once she finished dying my hair I was not happy at all. I had told her the colour she had done for me is not what I wanted. When I told her it does not look good on me. She replied “any girl would die to get this colour”. I was shocked by her reaction. As a hair dresser you are to satisfy your customers. Instead she left me Unsatisfied and actually complained that it’s my problem I travelled 2 hours to get to her. There is nothing more she can do. I don’t think she’s ever heard of colour correct. From my experience the results that I have gotten I do not recommend people to go to her if you want to get the results you are looking for. Never again will I go back to her. She ruined my hair one week before I went on vacation. If you want to try her that’s at your own risk.

I rarely ever write reviews about places I have gone to but I have never been so thoroughly satisfied with a service in my entire life - no exaggeration. I had been trying to book an appointment with Safiyaa for some time but wasn’t able to get the time and dates I wanted due to work and other commitments. I told Safiyaa that I had a wedding in July and was hoping to get in sometime before that, so she added me to a cancellation list in which she would then take time out of her busy day to let me know when an appointment opened up. I finally was able to make it today and let me tell you the drive up there was totally worth it. Upon entry she was super sweet and welcoming and we discussed what I wanted. She didn’t beat around the bush and told me exactly what she could do and what she couldn’t do. She gave me a plan for my hair and then went to work. After everything was done I had never been so ecstatic to look at my own hair. I almost cried - her talent and expertise is one you can’t compare to anywhere else (not to mention, her prices are great too). I would 100% recommend Safiyaa to any and all of my friends and family. TLDR: go to her, she is a hair goddess

I had been WAITING so long to get my hair done by Safiya ever since I saw her work last year! I knew I had to drive from Mississauga to St. Catharines at all costs and it would be worth it... and it totally was!!! I am so in love with my hair I have never had hair like this before! Safiya made my dream hair come true. I needed some major colour correction done and this girl came through with her magic touch- everything was perfectly blended and I was left with a beautiful ash honey-golden balayage! She advised me amazingly on what colours and tones would suit me better. On top of all that, she exudes positivity and has an amazing personality. I felt so at home ❤️ Thank you Safiya! Definitely worth my commute and money.

This review is long overdue. Safiya has been doing my hair for the last few years and no one compares. I was living in buffalo and used to drive to St. Catherines for her to do my hair. I live in Milton now and still take that drive for her to do my hair. The salon is so cute and chic. No one cuts my curly hair like she does. She is also the only one that I trust to color my hair. I had my balayage done over 8 months ago and still get complimented on the color. The color is gorgeous. She is a hair Queen for sure. I recommend her to everyone. She is so sweet and honestly the best hair dresser around. Her prices are reasonable. Don’t hesitate to book an appointment you’ll be in great hands.

I never leave google reviews but I wish I had read a real honest review before booking my highlight service with Safiya. I dont know who is leaving reviews on here and all the instagram hype but I was beyond disappointed with how I was dealt with and the sheer low quality of my highlights. I went last week for subtle highlights and came out with chunky highlights (think Kelly Clarkson circa 2002). She double processed my hair and now it’s brittle and dry as heck! After the first bleaching and toning we ended up with a way orange colour and safiya just said “oops let me try something else”. Oops? Trying something else means rebleaching my hair which isn’t healthy. When I asked about protecting my hair she offered me olaplex... but at an additional cost? Even tho it was her mistake. At the end I was charged hundreds of dollars for something you could get better and wayyyy cheaper at renaissance or storm hair group. She’s too overpriced and under skilled. My advice- go some where else. She penny nickel dimes you for everyyything! She trimmed off the edges of my hair she fried and then charged me for a haircut! Unbelievable.
