I had a very positive experience at Sun Hair Salon with getting a digital perm. I have really fine hair, and they made sure it would not become damaged by the chemicals. I had split ends and some bleaching because I got highlights 3 months ago, but Sunny took special care to ensure my hair remained healthy. I got the sense that they care about their customer's hair very much. The salon is nice and clean, they are friendly and professional, and they take time to explain things. Thank you, Sunny!

My hair was rebonded July 24, day after I wash it, it still looks frizzy and dry and doesn’t look good. I went back to their salon the next week to fix. The lady told me they can redo the rebond but the result will be 50% more dry and frizzy, But still they did rebond again (hoping to be fixed) it. After drying, the result was terrible. My hair is now more damaged and very dry. The lady said “I told you, it will become very dry”. Instead of compensating me for the damaged they have caused, she is blaming me because I told them to fix. I paid $400 (taxes and tips included) for this messed. I am very disappointed for their service as well as their after service. Now, my hair is damaged and everyday is struggle to fix and make me look good. I messaged them in their facebook page but never got a reply from them. This is my last resort to let them know how disappointed I am. P.s. hair in the photo looks good than in person.

Happy client! I have been going to the same hair dresser for years loyally and unfortunately she's on sick leave for a year. Decided I wasn't going to wait a year for a haircut and gave this place a go, which only cost $20 for a woman's haircut, ($28 dollars less than my normal haircut) and I gotta say, I am astonished with the results. Overall service was very good and professional. I would definitely recommend.

While there is a bit of barrier in communicating effectively, the Korean hair stylist is very amiable and is very knowledgeable about the hair style that you want. It's better to show her a picture of what you want your hair to look like than describing it to her and she should be able to copy it to a T. It's a little far from where we live but it's more difficult to get a haircut that you really like so travel is just a minor trade-off.

It was the worst haircut experience ever. The lady shaved my sides where it shouldn't. She just didn't pay close attention to the hair style picture that I provided. She didn't even noticed her mistake. I needed to point out the side hair supposed to be on the ears that shaved and showed the picture. There was no apology what's so ever. She just continued.. I can't express enough how upset I was. Cutting my long hair for a cool change and this women just ruined and didn't even apologize. After perm and hair blow, I wanted to spend a moment to look at my hair to somehow turn into a nice hair style but she didn't help me much and rather rushed.. Then she didn't offer me any discount but charged the full price. I cannot imagine possibly worst hair salon experience than this. I cried when I went back to my place. Now I have to wait months to my hair grow back where she mistakenly shaved. I don't recommend this place anybody who cares about their hair style. I will never come back

I am very glad that I finally have found the excellent hair salon I can trust for the following reasons. First, it offers an excellent job on the various demands of each customer. The hairdressers read the customers mind and they start with the best results they can think of from the customers. They are very professional, but the price is amazingly reasonable. Are you a very busy person like I am? Just go and meet these excellent hairdressers and tell them what you want. They will do the job for you even beyond your expectation. They just don't give you a great hair cut. They make a style for you.

I would give a ZERO star if I could. The worst haircut I’ve ever gotten in my life... it literally took 5 minutes to finish!!?? No sectioning or laying. Charged $7 extra for such a harsh hair wash - 5 minutes as well.

I think treatment for 100$ is too expensive. I want to know what kind of treatment it was. Also they should explain more about the product. It would be better to have variety of treatments and let guests chose them. I've had treatment and cut total $80 at another salon. Cutting technique was good.

Bad haircut and rude owners. Seems to be friendly only to Korean. Beware of the extra dollars if they ask if you want to wash and style (w/ wax). They just ask and don't give a heads-up for the extra charge - very dodgy.

I NEVER write any reviews anywhere but I have to share my experience of this place. My experience was absolutely horrendous. Paid 90 bucks for root touch up/grey cover and surprised at how horrible the service could be. First it took over 3 hours amd 30 minutes for the touch up because they had to constantly accept other customers in between. Big part of low rate is cuz disgusting black shampoo foam went all into my ears. Big chunk of foam were covering my ears during shampoo and she didnt care... I had to clean them myself, when I did it wanst just water. It was black..the color i dyed my hair. She saw all of it all she said was do you need Q tip? Wow.. just Wow.. At that point I knew this place does not worth it. I just wanted to get out. Blow drying my hair wasnt so pleasent neither She put this slow air drying machine that goes on top of the head amd made me sit there even longer and accepted ANOTHER customer. Did she explain nor ask if I was okay? No! I was so close to grab those handy blow dryer and dry hair myself and get the hell out of there. After all she didnt put a drop of oil or treatment on my hair like other salons. When she saw me wasnt happy, didnt leave any tips, instead of asking, she gave me an attitude and just ignored me. I understand ppl come in and sometimes it takes a while to get the service. Infact they were super busy. But if you were gonna charge 90 bucks at least provide the service we deserve. Explain or ask. The service I received was disappointing in every level.

Guy wasn't in a mood to cut hair it seemed like and rushed through it. He was nice to person before me but when it came to me he seemed rude, no apologies for wait time and not friendly at all. Had a very bad experience in this place! I came all the way from Morden for perming my medium length hair and she told me that my hair was "so damaged" that she needed to use a "special" product that will cost me 500$ for a work that would take 2 hours only and she told me this after she was cutting my hair. I work in a salon and so does my friend we are estheticians and I know for a fact my hair isn't damaged it's just dry from the highlights and my hairstylist friends agrees with me. There is no way a perming service should cost that much.

When it comes to haircuts, they do a good job but thats the only thing they are capable of doing well. Not only are they extremely expensive when it comes to rebonding or coloring, they lack the ability to do it well. They will ruin your hair. Best just go there for haircuts otherwise its a money loss and your hair will be damaged.

I was not satisfied with the lady's (owner) service. She finished cutting in five minutes, and what she did just make the edge neat. I told her my hair felt heavy and hope she could make it thinner. She did layer for my hair. Maybe there is some misunderstanding of the language. However, her attitude was the thing made me feel so angry. She finished the layer and didn't even dry my hair or show me the back with the mirror. She didn't ask me if I like it. She took off the curtain and left and go see another customer. What is it? I never been treated as this in my whole life. I think it is the last time I visited that hair salon.

My boyfriend and I went to cut hair together. Both of us had really bad experience! My boyfriend was charged 6 dollars more because the guy washed and applied hair wax for him but without notifying him about the additional charge. The lady who cut my hair didn’t do a good job as well. After cutting, my hair at left side is obviously longer than the right side. After she fixed it, the right side is obviously longer than the left side.

I came to this salon to have a hair cut on December 28th, 2021. The hair cut was very rushed even though I was the only one there. She did cut a little bit on the back and on the sides of my hair, but on the front and the bangs of my hair, she barely touched it. When she said she was finished I was a little shocked. My hair was still wet and when I asked to see the back of my hair, she gave me the mirror and simply sat down in front of the cash register. I had to ask her to borrow the hair dryer so that I could dry my hair by myself. When I got home that night, I had to fix the right side of my hair since it was longer than the left side. This was the first time I came to this salon and this will be my last. I will make sure to let anyone I know to avoid this salon. I hope people will read this review and avoid this place. Don't waste your time and money at this salon.

I went to this salon for a perm. I wanted to have curly hair but I ended up with very small waves instead. The hair by my neck is actually still straight. I followed after care instructions, and I’m not sure what went wrong. I paid $250, so very pricy for hair that did not turn out the way I wanted. The hair trim I got seemed okay though. If you’re getting a trim, this place is fine, but I wouldn’t recommend going if you want a perm.

The other reviews are very true, the owners push other services on you so they can charge more. I had washed my hair just prior to getting my haircut at Sun Hair. However, they insisted on washing my hair and charged me more. The owners are not very business savvy. Even though they may have made more money on a needless shampoo, they have lost me as a regular customer. Plus, I will tell all my friends about my bad experience at Sun Hair and post bad reviews about them.

Only place that offers digital perms in Winnipeg. If you are looking for having effortless waves or curls (ex. Beach waves) that need no styling in the morning or wanting hair like Korean celebrities, this is the place to go. They know their stuff and are experienced with Asian hair. Friendly couple that treats your hair nicely. Got my first S-curl perm today and with patience, it turned out wonderfully. Location is easy to find and get to. Service was pretty quick considering how many clients come and go. Will definitely go back for colouring or another perm sometime. :)
