I used to visit the Nail Basics Nail Salon about 5 years ago. The lady who did my nails back then was very nice and professional. I booked an appointment the other day at the Pristine Nail Gallery and got my nails filled. It seemed like a very different nail spa. The young woman who did my nails had the personality of a door nail. She didn't know how to engage conversation. She didn't even tell me her name. She didn't know how to do simple nail art. She offered me stamps. She even stamped my nail to see if I wanted that. The stamps were the kind that a 12 year old girl would put on her nails. I declined that offer. Also, the lines of the french tips she made on me are very crooked, a 10 year old would have done a better job. The thing that bothered me the most was, she continually put hand sanitizer on her hands, like I was dirty. I am a professional First Nation woman and I know when a non-First Nation person is scared to touch me. I have lived as a First Nation human being, my whole life, so I know. I confronted her about it. Of course she was stunned and her come back was that she had a habit of it. I took the hint. I just want to let other First Nation women, if you are looking for a nice, inviting, professional place to get your nails done, this ain't the place.
