First off I want to say I’ve never written a review before but felt I needed to because of my experience. I made an appointment but waited for a long period of time due to the walks in. Emily was run off her feet while she tried to complete multiple tasks. Giovanni cut hair but seemed to have an angry undertone and very impatient almost irritable that I had asked few questions. To cut to the chase, my scelp was burnt, the color did not cover the grey and highlights were not what I wanted. I could have cut my hair better than Giovanni did and he did not wear a mask the whole time I was there with his shop full of clients. Also he overcharged me $40 which At that point did not argue. I just wanted leave. Getting your hair should be a relaxing experience, yet it was the opposite. I would never go back.

A great experience! My hair colour turned out better than I hoped and it was the best cut I ever had. The staff is friendly and Giovanni was very accommodating. I highly recommend this Salon!

I was disappointed with my haircut, my color turned out good. First of all had an appointment scheduled for 10:30, she didn't take me until 11am, she was working alone so it was difficult for her, she needs someone else there to help her out, at least one more person. This place is more meant for men NOT women, if your a women looking for a nice style for the day for a wedding, then maybe but not for a regular cleanup!!!

Great place to go! Very inexpensive for the quality of the hair cut you get. I walked in, showed Giovanni a picture of, roughly, what I wanted, and he nailed it. Still getting compliments about my hair a week later! You couldn't find a better hair dresser if you tried, especially for how inexpensive he is!

Absolutely ridiculous service. I am surprised to see so many good reviews, but this place is the worst in whitby area. totally spoiled my hair cut, its uneven and now I would have to find someone else to fix my hair.

The worst experience with the owner who even does not know how to talk with 4 years old kid and how to cut kids hair. I asked him to make hair cut proper for my 4 years old son and he said i don't do this but giving you favor and then i said what favor as i am paying you. I wish i could give him zero star with negative marking. The owner Giovanni is a worst person at store.....

Giovanni is truly professional, so is Emilie who did my hair straightening so beautifully. Samreen did a good job in trimming my eyebrows via threading. They make good suggestions so you can personally take good care of your hair and maintain the soft and silky look. Awesome place to feel pampered and be beautiful!

great hair stylists and wonderful with kids. Reasonable price and help you find the look you want not force a style on you. Great with requests from magazine pictures or offering tips of what with work with your style, hair texture and cut. I prefer them over Valentino any day of the week.

Absolutely amazing experience! My hair was in awful shape from a colored dye Jon when I got there but by the time these miracle workers were done my hair looked so natural and healthy! 10/10 will go again and HIGHLY recommend!!!! Super friendly, nice and amazing team!!!

Definately the best colouring I've ever had! Loved the haircut by Giovanni, he did exactly what I wanted and was very knowledgeable about my type of hair. I would highly recommend, not sure why they would have bad reviews...they don't deserve them!

Giovanni is a nice guy and thankfully, for now, he is mostly at his business and not running it as an absentee businessman. So in the end you get great service as a male or female. His skills are very much up there as anyone really good hairdresser from dying, touch up and cuts. His staff members are competent as well.

WORST of all! The WORST service!!!! Awful, no Respect for customer opinion. Extremely Short Tempered Man (Giovanni) If you try to tell him that the color is not done right, he Loses it!!! 1. Before coloring my hair, I was told $80 for full color head. After the color was done He charged me $100 saying he had to use 3 boxes of color. Did he not see my hair before he started coloring or when he told me it'll be $80?!?!? where was he then, in some Dreamland!!! This is just one of his Tactic to charge the Client more once the color is already done. When I questioned, this man got MAD and started saying stuff, walked back to his kitchen or washroom saying he doesn't have time to ARGUE. hmmm where was the ARGUMENT in this?!?!? 2. After my hair was colored, all my GREYS are still freaking GREY when I asked he said " STOP CRITICIZING ME" dude, when I asked you that would this color cover my GREY, He very confidently said YES but that COLOR DID NOT cover my GREY AT ALL. 3. Giovanni is all nice in beginning but he turns into RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, SHORT TEMPERED Man when you tell him the something ain't done right. 4. Another Lady got Black color done on her whole hair to cover Grey's as she was old, Even that lady had the same issue. She still had GREY after her hair was colored. This MAN had asked for $65 for hair when the appointment was mad and he ended up CHARGING her $85. WHO can't cover GREYS when coloring BLACK FULL head color!!! APPARENTLY this SALON!!! LOL I'll soon be posting of my hair PHOTO to Prove that I am not lying. Also when I asked what BRAND of hair color he uses, he COULDN'T share the NAME of the BRAND. all he said we used professional brands but he couldn't tell me one brand name. After YESTERDAY visit to this SALON, for the first time ever I felt I WASTED my $100 for NOTHING. Because I DID NOT want to argue with this TINY Headed person, I paid the money so he doesn't create more DRAMA than he already did in the store. I thought to myself, I'll just consider this some CHARITY I've done obviously Forcefully!!!!! That SERVICE he provided was AWFUL, NOT Worthy of even a PENNY just cuz the way he treated. if anything he should've paid me money for his BEHAVIOR..... AWFUL, DISRESPECTFUL, SHORT TEMPERED, MEAN, FULL of Himself and a very BIG LIAR who tells you less $$ and once the job is done, HE charges you MORE and DISRESPECTS you if you question!!!!!! I have never ever been to this type of cheap hair salon ever before in my life!!!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this SALON to anyone. AWFUL MAN ( Giovanni)

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!!! I'd give this salon an endless amount of stars if I could as I really had the most incredible salon experience! Thank you so much to all the staff at Hair By Giovanni, and the biggest thank you goes to Emilie and Serina who made me feel like an absolute queen once my hair was done. The longer story is that I had gone to another salon yday and they did a horrific job, I had asked for a balayage and it was very patchy and far from what I asked for. However, I am so grateful that an awful experience at one salon, ended up bringing me here!

Actually screwed up my best friends hair by doing a terrible colouring job leaving her hair blonde in some sections and yellow in others. Couldn’t even properly cut hair without it being uneven on both sides. Not to mention it was ridiculously overpriced. Save yourself the time, money, and embarrassment by getting your hair done literally anywhere else.
