Terrible experience. I had my hair done here and the bleach was left on my scalp for to long and I got chemical burns all over my scalp. To add too it, I was not offered a refund or a discount on anything even after making the stylist aware of the damage done to my head.

I used to go to Curio about 4 years ago and was very satisfied with my treatment. As I have now moved from the area, I decided to stop in for a wash/style as I had some free time. I’m not sure if there has recently been an ownership change within the last little while but this place has gone very downhill. I was not satisfied with my style, and it did not seem like the hair dresser had much skill. The rest of the stylists were very loud during my appointment. All sitting around on their phones, spinning around in the salon chairs and talking at obnoxiously loud volumes. I usually see going to the salon as a relaxing experience, but this experience was the opposite.

I’m going to make this story short. Went in to get a balayage done, showed a picture to the lady. My hair came out nothing like it. Went home, 4 washes later and blow drying it...I noticed patches and more like straight lines then a natural blend. I messaged them they offered to take a look at it but why would I want to go back there and have them “fix it” and come out even more disappointed. I wish they would of offered some what of a refund since I spent so much time in their chair to not even get the right results. But obviously to offer a refund is to admit they did something wrong. And clearly that’s not going to happen. Definitely should of went with my first instinct and that is never to get your hair done at the Oshawa Center Mall.

Tbh i'm not an expert in the field so I didn't know what to expect from a facial. I was simply redeeming a gift card lol. But i am quite pleased with the service i received. My skin appears a lot cleaner and clearer (than it did beforehand). The hostesses who greeted me at the front were very professional and helpful. Radisha was also very friendly and funny.

Went there to get an ashy brown colour. The lady talked me out of it and didn’t tell me it would be more expencive. I walked out of there with hair that looks trash. My ends are a weird grey. My roots are dark brown and In the middle a weird blonde. There’s no flow what so ever. My hair looks like it got done in an dimly lit basment. I am very upset with how it looks. Let me remind you she is a senior hair stylist.

My 8 month pregnant daughter is having maternity photos done. She made the mistake of having her hair cut at one of those "cheap" hair cutting places. Well needless to say they made a mess of it!! She was so upset she was going to cancel the photo shoot. I talked her into going to Curio Hair+Body at the Oshawa Center to see if maybe they could hide the mess with an "updo". They went ABOVE and byond to not HIDE the mess but FIX it!! I cannot be complimentary ENOUGH for what they did!!!! They literally saved my daughter from missing out on what will be one of the greatest moments/memories of her entire life!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!

Stylist was really friendly and gave great pointers but I did not get the hair cut i wanted at all. I had to ask her if she was done and when she said "yes", I asked her about my front layers because she completely forgot about them (which was the reason i went in for a cut in the first place). Cut was done super fast... the same way i use to cut my hair in High School... for a "level 3 price" I expected so much more. My hair cut was done in literally 15 minutes and is super uneven. When I do a ponytail it looks like someone decided to take scissors and cut randomness in the bottom of my ends. SOO DISAPPOINTED.

My husband went in today to get his haircut and was taken in by this salon against a cancellation. The stylist understood all the directions given by my husband( who speaks perfectly English) but suddenly her attention got diverted or the razor slipped, god knows what happened and she had him bald from one side !!! BALD !! She would have continued had my husband not screamed and told her to stop. So she calls her senior to show what mistake she has done and the senior ALYSSIA tells my husband that since they cannot undo the damage she can match it with the other side OR he could return back after 2 weeks when the hair regrows back and she would cut it properly ...these people call themselves professionals and run such fancy high end salons ...the worst is when I complained about what they have done she has the nerve to smile at me and say it's nothing they can do ....no apology, no regrets from this person...my kids seeing this say they are scared now to try any new salon as their hair too would get messed up so they prefer to wait for their salon to open. But my question is how could a professional salon like this make such a blunder and then have the audacity to laugh on their mistake ...SHAME ON THIS SALON AND ITS EMPLOYEES WHO EVEN AFTER WITNESSING THIS DID NOT HAVE THE COURTESY OF APOLOGIZING. Lesson learnt is don't go by the fancy looks of the salon and its location or even the good reviews please ! I had read these same reviews and thought them to be very good but now I would like to ask these same people who posted such good reviews, would you have excused these so called stylists if you or your loved one would have been turned bald on one side??? Please tell me that you would not have lost your temper or would have just walked away saying it's ok, it happens sometimes ...DISGUSTING AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE!!

This was the first time I have been to a hair salon in 6 years, so I was nervous trusting someone to cut my hair. I'm glad I chose the right place. Michaela was my hair stylist, and she did an amazing job. She gave me a better haircut than what I imagined. She always asked for my input and made sure I was comfortable. I have an industrial piercing on my right ear with a chain on it, and she was super cautious while working around it. She only snagged it once. (Considering how long the chain is im impressed she didn't hit it more). Overall, this is a very welcoming salon, and I will be returning for my next haircut.

This has to be the absolute WORST managed salon. First time back after the covid shut down, I had booked online for high lights, they doubled booked my service, so the stylist was rushed which led to not the best work on my highlights, they came out gold and are usually frosty. The manager had to cut my hair which was oky but I got bumped around and made to feel like I did something wrong. Now I come back to get my highlights again, and they are behind 30 min. I had to get a baby sitter to come in and now I can’t even get my hair done. A phone call letting me know you were behind would have been much appreciated and saved me the drive here. After many years of going to the same stylist, I’m NEVER going back here again. I do NOT recommend scheduling a service here if you want your time respected at all or to feel valued.

I have been travelling to curio for about a year now. My hair was a complete disaster, and was basically falling out of my head at this point. I officially met a hairdresser who has now for a year, has not ever disappointed, but transformed the way I feel about my hair! Absolutely blown away with the service I received! This was my first time ever getting a salon colour and cut and I am floored with the incredible service I received from Steph and the team. I asked for a balayage/money pieces and a cut and Steph explained every step, was very efficient and gave me the exact colours I was hoping for. I've never had a colour like this before and she has exceeded every expectation. She was so personable, timely and just a wicked person! I'm so impressed with my hair and will definitely be back to see her! She also cut my mom's hair and after 3 horrible cuts elsewhere, my mom is so pleased with her look. Came for a haircut in June after Covid restrictions opened (my first postpartum haircut). I was treated with care and I was extremely pleased with the cut. Fast forward to December, I came in for a pre-Christmas cut with the same stylist. He came in 20 minutes late to my appointment. Rushed washing my hair to the point where there was still product not washed out. Attempted to cut my hair an inch only despite my asking for much more. Never showed me the back. It looked as if I never even cut it but spent $100 somehow??? Proceeded to blow dry my hair but it was a very rushed experience n was only 75% done before he let me go. I went home to finish my hair myself. The icing on the cake? Berating me for being upset that I cant throw my daughter her 1st bday party due to Covid. He said its selfish of me to want a party for a kid who wont remember it and terrible life choices I have. I left feeling like the world's worst mum. He definitely was having a bad day but to displace his emotions onto his customers? The treatment was absolutely not worth the cut. Will definitely not be returning to this salon. wre for

I have been to this salon a few times and the atmosphere and the stylist(s) I have had in the last we’re all positive. However today I went in to get a cut and I didn’t have an appointment but I was able to get in right away. Which is good. That was the only positive thing I can say for my overall experience. The hair stylist i had was Natalie. And she kept criticizing the colour of my hair and how it was done. Saying that it wasn’t done properly and criticizing the stylist who had done it. Telling me I Should go get it fixed. I kept getting constant questions about where my hair was coloured and the pricing of it. And honestly I felt like that was completely unprofessional. I felt very uncomfortable during my whole appointment. Needless to say I don’t think I’m going to be going to this salon anymore because of this uncomfortable and unprofessional environment I was in.

I was getting married in 2 weeks. Went in to get my hair from blonde to dark brown with low lights. My hair turned ash and i was told by the stylist before i left that once o go home and wash it it will be proper colour. So i went home did as she said it got worse. More ash!!! Getting married in 2 weeks i went into panic and caller back to get them to fix it. Thyey wanted to chargw me full price to fix THEIR mistake. they would not fix unless i paid. I will never go back there again. They knew i was getting married and still wouldnt fix it. I would never recommend them to anyone!

I do have to say he did an amazing job on my hair - it looks stunning. I am very happy about the final look. The price though, honestly made me cry in my car when I left.

My nail artist was extremely nice and friendly. However it took 5 hours to do a shellac mani and pedi. Yes I did have extensions put on ( they were short) I'm extremely upset there was no need for it to be 5 hours . I should have walked up and left but I was asked to pay when the mall closed at 6pm (which I kindly obliged). I had to ask for security to walk me to my car at 930 in the evening. Friendly staff but would definitely not recommend.

I always get great service here, it’s always really clean, and the staff are always really nice, but this last time was above and beyond. Nikki cut my hair from a bob to a pixie cut (which I was very worried about as I’ve never gone this short) and she kept a great conversation going the entire time, and showed me the progress along the way. She funny, personable, professional and extremely talented. How I felt about myself coming out of her chair is something I can’t thank her enough for. I feel like a totally different person, a better version of myself, and it’s all thanks to Nikki. I couldn’t recommend her enough!
