Love the salon! Love my stylist, Jacqueline! I always leave feeling like I have the best hair in the world. Jacqueline spends time during the consultation phase to find out what I’m hoping to achieve, and keeps checking in throughout the process. She always has great suggestions for colour changes depending on my mood and the seasons. I cannot get over how beautifully my colour blends, and how natural it looks! Her styling techniques are the perfect finishing touches. All this, and some bubbly conversation, too. A true professional, and a welcoming and enjoyable salon. Always an experience I look forward to.

I found out about Matthew through Facebook, and I am so happy I discovered his work because I could not have been happier with my colour while leaving the salon. Matthew took his time to talk with me prior to colouring my hair to find out exactly what I wanted done. He looked at the photos I brought to show him what I'd hoped to look like upon leaving, and he also showed me some photos of hair that he'd done to show me some of his work, which helped us determine what colours I wanted and how much colour I wanted in my hair. Colouring your hair can be a nerve-wracking experience! But I 100% recommend Matthew because he listens to what you'd like done, takes his time with you as a client, and you will walk out of the salon feeling beautiful! I'm pretty sure I left saying, "I feel like I should be walking down a runway!" ..............All in all an excellent experience :)

Jeena did a fabulous job on my hair, we are transitioning from a short cut to a shoulder length cut, and she styled my hair in a managable style that will grow nicely into the length I desire. The colour is awesome! My husband says it makes me look younger. I highly recommend Jeena, she has worked with Matthew for a number of years and knows how to colour, cut and style. I made an appointment at this salon because due to my own mistake, a chunk of my hair was cut and looked really ugly. I figured that the only way to fix it was to turn it into side bangs which I wasn't super keen on. However when I got in the chair and discussed what we could do with Lexi, she suggested to create a frame instead, along with some layers, which ended up looking great and she made the missing chunk look like it was supposed to be that way. I was also very very pleased with her professionalism in that she didn't seem judgmental or made fun of me for my embarrassing mistake. She's a very pleasant lady and is great at her job. The salon itself is very quaint and cozy, I can imagine that it might get tight if all the chairs are being used but everyone seems to have their own little space. I was worried about the price but I honestly think that it was worth it, especially for the fact that my hair was saved! I even got a compliment on it from Matthew Jonathan on my way out which put me in a really good mood for the rest of the day.

Loved the easy on line booking. Appointment was on time. The energy in this Salon is very positive, you can tell that all of the staff are connected with one another and happy to be there. I completely understand why they have so many 5 star reviews! I have never been so happy after getting my hair done! This salon has been recommended to me by a few friends, so today I went to have my hair dyed balayage style. Of course it's always a bit nerve wracking trying a new style of hair dying with a new place but they completely exceeded my expectations! I LOVE the way they did my hair! Besides my hair turning out beautifully, It's a beautiful space. All of the staff are very friendly; their coffee is fantastic. Upon entering the salon, Lexi always greets me with the warmest welcome. What I appreciate most about Lexi is how she really makes sure she understands what I want done to my hair before going any further. I am very picky about what I want and have had many unfortunate experiences with colour so for me to trust someone is a big deal. I came to this salon after getting a crappy balayage done by another stylist that fried my hair. It was brassy, dry, frizzy and breaking off. I met Matthew for a consultation and he recommended a restorative treatment, in addition to some colour correction. I was actually able to obtain the appointment for the next day, with another stylist in the salon. Since Matthew would not be doing the work himself, he took pictures and detailed notes to pass on to the other stylist that would actually do my hair. I appreciated the attention to detail, and everyone was welcoming and friendly. I asked for a quote of what the services would cost, and went on my way. The next day, I met master stylist Ali at the salon around 5pm. He mentioned he spoke with Matthew about what I wanted done, but listened carefully as I explained to him what I was expecting (I've learned from past experiences that over-communicating hair expectations is better than leaving unhappy). He was friendly and a nice level of chatty. He executed the job flawlessly - my hair looks and feels a thousand times better than before - but here's what really stands out for me. Ali continually asked for feedback to make sure I was comfortable and happy with the styling, which as a picky person, was really important to me. I usually watch hairstylists like a hawk, but he was doing such an awesome job that at one point I just stopped paying attention and relaxed. If you have naturally curly hair btw, Ali does a fantastic blowout. I've already made my next appointment.

I had an appointment today with a senior stylist for a cut, blow dry, and all over color. This senior stylist was condescending towards me when I told her what I wanted. I told her I wanted my hair to be a deep, rich, dark black color but instead of giving me suggestions she was trying to correct my “wordage” on how I described how I wanted my hair. It was extremely frustrating communicating with her, and seemed as if she had a chip on her shoulder about something or another. I don’t know why, because I was nothing but nice. Mathew noticed and stepped in when he overheard the awkward exchange, and he was much more respectful and kind while suggesting what to do with my hair. I Showed the senior stylist a simple hair cut I wanted, which included bangs. She first tried to convince me out of them, but I insisted I wanted them. She cut my bangs, and it looked like I cut them myself. She would have left them like that, if I didn’t coach her into blending the bangs into the rest of my hair. I shouldn’t have to coach a senior hair stylist where to thin out and blend my bangs. My hair turned out just ok, but it could’ve been better because she didn’t blend my bangs, and layer the front of my hair properly. She just rushed it. I still left a nice 15% tip. Because I have integrity. I would return to get my hair done by Mathew potentially, but I would never use her again.

I visited Matthew Jonathan salon for the first time today! It was my first haircut since before the pandemic closures. It was easy to book an appointment and confirm online, the safety procedures and costs were clear and upfront, and I knew what to expect when I visited. The salon was clean, organized, and decorated nicely. When I visited the salon, I was happy to see that everyone was following safety measures - including disinfecting, temperature checking, social distancing, and masks. Lexi cut and styled my hair, and she was very pleasant! She understood quickly what I wanted and checked in with me throughout the process. The results turned out great! I'm happy with my hair and the overall experience as my first time here.

Very disappointed with Matthew's services. I came in with red hair and asked to change it to blond hair. I knew it was going to be a long process and trusted him to get me there. 5 months later I've already had 3 sessions and only had brown hair. He did ballayage which I never asked for and each session cost me more than $500. I spent a fortune and my colour was nowhere close to blond. Today, I went again and when I asked him if he can get my hair blond, he said it might take a few more sessions. This is ridiculous!!!! I've never heard of anything like it. I left the salon and went to another salon and 2 hours later I walked out with beautiful blond curls, healthy hair that costed me less than half of one session he charged me. I also found out that the products he used and colour process only made my hair more drier ... bottom line is he'll sweet talk you and offer u unnecessary services to keep you coming back and spend more money without getting any results. I usually don't like to write negative reviews but I worked hard for my money and it made me very upset that he took advantage of me.

I've been trying to find a go-to salon for years. I recently went to Matthew Jonathan's salon because it has excellent reviews and now I'll definitely be going back and making it my go-to. I had a balayage/flamboyage/ombre done for the first time and they did exactly what I wanted. I am very happy with my hair! I was scheduled with Roman, but the team worked together by giving tips and would take over for the other, so I never had to sit and wait around. I love that they work together for every client and they are eager to learn more as they go. Roman, Matthew and Cassandra worked on my hair and I could not be happier. The team is talented and passionate, they really have fun with it which makes the atmosphere relaxing. They offer refreshments and keep a conversation going to stay from boredom, they have nice and relaxing music playing too! I would highly recommend anyone to go there!

Staff is not helpful at all. We drove 3 hours just to get my wife's hair done. And we were 15 mins late because of the traffic. They said they will not able to do anything. Don't waste your time or money coming here. I had my balayage done my the master stylist and it was so disappointing and blotchy. When I went back to fix it they completely changed the color to something I didn't want. I was told to go home and wash it a couple times ... so I did and it's still not what I wanted at all. So when I call to discuss the issue they take a week to get back to me and only offer to "fix" it by the person who ruined it. I not only had to cancel my engagement photos because I hate my hair, but they don't even care. Who the hell would want someone who's messed up their hair 2 times to do it a third time??? So disappointing and a waste of $350.

Which I received from Mathew as a free blow dry and hair conditioning Kerastase and even second voicemail on my phone to shape up my hair further putting the blame on my hair being damaged so that I change my bad experience at his salon which I wrote about 2 days ago. Since then I have received at least 5 or 6 calls 2 voicemail an answer on the yelp and another answer on my google. Was offered some free service such as blow dry .... between my very busy and hectic life. Yesterday I even answered while driving to the girl on the phone that only call me back in the evening pls as at present I am too busy and today I emailed Mathew to say I am not there for recovery and changing back the review to a 5 star. "Sorry Mathew, I am not ready to drive back from down town 30km to Oakville ever again trusting on these good reviews and waiting for more than 3 months for a hair cut. I can afford better salons and do not need free offers to give you back a better rate " PLS READ AND CHECK WHAT I SAID INSTEAD AND WORK ON YOUR BUSINESS INSTEAD OF GIVING ME FREE OFFERS TO GIVE YOU BACK A BETTER REVIEW. I am afraid it won't work like that for me. This is the what happened ... It was my 3rd visit today. First two times as Mathew suggested I was with Casandra and it was really atrocious experience. Minding that my second visit she was on her own with Gina and I was on time but last client of the day. No supervisor and they were rushing to leave. Sounded as if they didn't have lunch or were going to eat some where. My hair cut normally last at best salons in Toronto London Paris 20 min. And there I was less than 10 min for cut and less than 15 min blow dry. Which does not mean she was fast, instead rushed to leave. The same day when I arrived another lady hair high lights were orangish and she was talking to Cassandra and explaining her how unhappy she was and what could be done if any options? I really wonder how they get good rates as I only went and waited for over 3 months after Cassandra hair cut which I went back and asked her to book me next with Jonathan as my hair is difficult and she could be good but with my tick and volume straight hair I know some one should know enough how to layer and thin it out. I waited 3 months for an appointment with Mathew. Again he barely cut or layer or shortened my hair. I agree that they are welcoming and talk friendly but most salons I visited were same and even more real. I went with a happy mood as before that I did my nails for St Patrick day as well as some other events over the weekend and left with a very low mood. Minding that Mathew instead if I book another appointment with a new guy there Called Robin. What I totally do not understand is that if Mathew likes his job or he prefer only managing and if he only have few clients that he picks and prefer , otherwise no salon no Dr and no Lawyer is booked for 3 months. I booked not for 3 but 4 months and will wait once again for a week and a wash to see how can I recover form his 5 mins hair cut and fixation of blow-dry by the new guy there. Mentioning that I was on time but had to wait for about 15 more Min not for another client but for Mathew to end his conversations with a lady visiting salon. It is a big surprise and astonishing to me why they have such a good review on the internet!!! Hope my review stay and can be checked by others for years to come Thanks for reading

Overall not thrilled with this place, won't be returning. I received what I consider subpar balayage, which looked to me more like standard highlights, and the toning was off so the colour is more orange/bronze than the blonde I was going for. I even went back a week later for them to fix it for free, but they pretty much didn't fix it at all as it's still bronze, and they had to add more balayage because there were gaps at the back with not enough colour! I explained that I wanted a very small trim, an inch at most and that I really wanted to keep the length. I asked for warm tones slightly lighter than my natural dark brown and again no colour change to my roots. She explained that the way it is done at Matthew Jonathan the roots will have colour added to them to blend the rest of the balayage but not to worry it will be perfectly matched to my roots. I asked again if there was a way to leave my roots alone and she explained that this way it blends better and that I won't notice the difference as it will be a perfect match to my natural hair colour and grow out seamlessly. When she was done I quickly glanced at it in the salon paid and left. I wasn't in love with it but I figured it was because it was a change. Once I got home I inspected it well, the haircut was completely uneven, much longer on one side than the other, on one side she had taken at least 5 inches. The colour was extremely light, much lighter than what I had walked in with, and I had dozens of streaks starting at my roots. My hair felt and looked like hay. I called the salon the next morning, I was asked to send pictures and asked to wait. I sent photos and waited. I didn't hear back so I called again, I was told the cut was uneven and that could be fixed and they could darken it if I wanted. I was crying on the phone to the receptionist who said that my hair "is wearable" and that I'll have to wait for an appointment to fix it. I understand that it is hard to fit people in with COVID and distancing, but there was no urgency on the receptionists part to fix it and was dismissive of how upset I was about it. "thats just life, you can't have what you want when you want it," she said. The stylist offered to stay late that night and fix it, she genuinely tried to help, which I'm thankful for. However my hair feels very damaged, it no longer holds curl, feels crunchy and its impossible to run a brush through (I've broken many bristles on my detangler brush). I did not walk out with the colours I wanted but the straw and grey tones were gone. She had to chop off a lot of hair to even out the cut, the front part of my hair has lost at least 6 inches, when I had repeatedly asked for 1 inch at most (JUST A TRIM). I understand that people make mistakes and that as a new client she wasn't familiar with my hair. However, this is a $240 balayage and $90 haircut. Plus a tip, which you have to pay in cash (you are told this in advance so I had it on me and handed it to her as I had planned) with ax and tip its a $430 hair do, a hair do I'm extremely unhappy with. Please don't go here if you know what you want. I repeatedly asked for my roots not to be touched, and for the length to be left alone but was told by the receptionist that the stylist is just thinking of the end result. THEY WILL NOT LISTEN TO WHAT YOU WANT. They will do what they are trained to do. I will have to go elsewhere to get the colours I wanted and it will take 1.5+ years to regain the length. To say I'm very upset is an understatement ps I've attached images of what my hair looked like after the appointment, the image with curled hair is one of the images I showed the stylist of MY OWN HAIR the last time I had balayage done elsewhere

First time calling in and it was a incredibly terrible experience. When I called I had some questions related to there smoothing treatment, the lady goes "the receptionist is out right now and she can answer all your questions". How is it that the receptionist knows more then the stylist. So I asked her if the sylist knows about treatments and she said no only the receptionist does. Well the receptionist should change her job and be a sylist. So somehow she manages to get the receptionist and when I asked her questions she has no clue and keeps me putting me on hold because she needs to ask the stylist. I could have told you that. Then when I finally decide to book this expensive treatment which costs more then $350, I ask her who the stylist is and I find out it's a junior stylist. I am paying so much money only to be booked with a junior stylist. No, thanks. She tells me she will find out and call me back. I never heard from her again which is great because I don't plan on ever going there again. I will never go to this salon and I don't recommend anyone else going. They seem shady and definitely do not care about customer service.

I love my cut and colour that I got from Roman. His attention to detail is excellent, including the way he checks your posture when he is cutting your hair. I love the highlights he gave me. And he is a great conversationalist! Edit to add: The only thing I would have liked was for Matthew to have asked *first* before taking my photo (for client recognition, I assume, since it was at the start of my appointment). I would have probably agreed, but would have preferred the photo be taken at the end of my appointment since that would have shown (for future reference) not only my face but also how my hair had been coloured.

My initial appointment was cancelled by the salon a few days before the last lockdown. They did not call me to reschedule so I potentially waited for a few weeks to call. When I finally did, the girl who answered the phone was not friendly or helpful. I did not book a “styled blowout” ( which is never anything special after a colour treatment anyhow ) this time and was sent with soaking wet hair OUTSIDE in negative temperatures . How uncouth and déclassé of this establishment and an owner who was present for this whole incident . Despite this , I did not say a word and even tipped handsomely for my colour service . A word of advice and just a pointer on basic manners really ; hand your client a blow drier and allow them to quickly dry their hair like decent people . You’ve lost a customer.

When I booked the appt online, apparently something happened where the site allowed me to book on a day they were closed. I called them and got a response the next business day. Which I thought was a good sign. They asked if I would like to book another appointment; I said yes of course, please tell me when you have an opening. Never received a response. I am editing my post - 2 years or so after my first visit, I came to the conclusion that it was a short lived good experience at Matthew's. It's unfortunate but my appointments kept on being cancelled or changed at the last minute, had to switch between stylists - the last one was an arrogant snob, I decided that the inconvenience and price tags are not worth it. The salon has grown its business and quantity seems to be a stronger focus than quality. I wish I read the negative reviews before going to this salon... my experience was disappointing to say the least. My stylist seemed to not want to cut my hair and made me feel weird about the haircut I wanted. She burnt my head a few times while blow drying but I didn’t want to say anything because of how uncomfortable I felt there. The service was one of the worst I’ve ever experienced which was very surprising to me considering the rest of the reviews. I also was not satisfied with my haircut but was rushed out despite my appointment being an hour and a bit and it only taking up half that. I ended up having to get it fixed elsewhere. I was testing the salon out for the first time to see if this would become my regular place but she made me feel bad and unwelcome because it was my first time there. I will not be going back. To end on a positive note the person that washed my hair was lovely. I didn’t get a name but she deserves a shout out for being the highlight of my otherwise poor experience.

OK this is the raw deal from a lifetime hair obsessive 80’s girl (bald in 40’s for 3 yrs). Ali is a MUST!! NEVER EVER had a better cut including a $700US cut by John Barrett NY himself! He listens then cuts with insane precision for an hour. Follows the “shape of ur head”! GET OUTTA HERE! So go I beg you GO FAST to ALI!! RUN!! Here’s the bummer! - Appt sched for 3pm Wed. Woman left chair at 3:50!!! Mixup at reception. Yes. Still charged FULL PRICE!! No samples, freebies. NADA!! HUH! NOT IN MY WORLD BABY!! My time means nothing? Wouldn’t sting as much if you weren’t emailed twice about keeping your appt and cancel notice policy etc. SO I leave 50/50. Ali should open his OWN place. I’d invest in him. Hope I get a courtesy call.

I'm deeply concerned and disappointed with what I experienced today at this salon. *** added photo in salon photos I decided to book my appointment with a junior colorist, which was probably my first mistake. It was going to be months before I could get in with someone more experienced, but I wrongly assumed that whoever they had working for them would have been strongly vetted and supported throughout the process of my color. I believed that since what I wanted was relatively straight forward (balayage with a dark root smudge), it should be easy enough. I have experience with hair dressing but can't see the back of my head, so thought it best to get a professionals help. Mid way through my appointment I could tell that the application seemed off - I confirmed the details of my request a second time to which my colorist confirmed. I had pictures showing exactly what I wanted: honey brown balayage with dark roots. Instead I received a full head of highlights (which then damaged my hair), and a dark brown/black color on my ends. My roots are lighter than the bottom of my hair, and my hair is extremely blotchy. The worst part about this experience was when I spoke to the owner, Matthew, about it. I explained my situation and was upset because I've had someone now put almost black color over bleached hair, and my hair was darker than when I came in when I had asked for it to be lightened. The owner tried first to blame me, said there's nothing wrong with it, and then walked away and told me he is too busy and has no time to fix it. I'm extremely taken aback to say the least. He then told me if I didn't pay that his staff wouldn't get paid, and that would be on me. I'm not sure why his arrangements with his staff are my issue to resolve, or why he felt that was an appropriate thing to yell across the salon. I've been treating my hair well, growing it etc for 5 years to get it to the health it was. And in one fell swoop his staff ruined the integrity of my hair, and made it so that there is no "fix", because another color or bleach would cause breakage that I've been trying so hard to avoid. I expected more from this company. Very obviously there are some clients that matter to the owner, and others that do not. Whether or not it was the owner that made the mistake, he needs to take responsibility for his staff that are under his care. I've now read more reviews and it looks like they do THIS SAME THING over and over again. Do not go here. I will say that Romaine cut my hair and was incredible, but the remainder of my experience was probably the worst I've ever had at any establishment ever.

First visit today and I'm very pleased. I was a bit worried going there as I'm mixed race and wasn't sure if they would be able to do my hair. I was so surprised! Ali was amazing, my hair was so damaged and the color was horrible prior to visiting, but he made my hair look and feel great. I will definitely be returning...already booked next visit! In addition to his talent with hair, Ali is very personable. People typically aren't very talkative with me until they get to know me because I guess I come across standoff-ish...but he was so welcoming and friendly from start to finish!

They seemed a bit rude as they didnt really pay attention when I was explaining about the style that I want so I have to assure them if they were with me. I came in with a disaster on my head! My hair was orange, yellow, brassy, roots nearly close to black. I didn’t think anyone could fix it...until Lexi! I genuinely thought that because my hair was such a mess that it would end up looking “decent” after the visit, but when I left my hair looked so natural and beautifully blonde that even the men of my household noticed and said my hair has never been better than when I left the salon that day! The online booking was very easy and convenient, it also provides text reminders which I found helpful. The staff at the salon were exceptionally friendly. From a customer service perspective I had a great experience. Although my cut and colour was good it was not what I asked for. During the consultation I felt my stylist was paying attention to what I wanted but the message got lost along the way. I had grown out straight bangs that I wanted cut into side bangs. I was very specific about this. My bangs were cut straight and now are too short to turn into a side bang. In terms of colour I booked for balayage as I wanted my ends to be bleach blonde. This was reflective in the photo I showed during my consultation where the models hair was nearly white at the ends. What I got instead was blonde highlights that look very natural on me. I believe this was due to an oversight by the stylist. During my consultation I mentioned the length I wanted cut off. While the colour was being applied I did notice the ends where getting significantly more colour, but when the time came to cut my hair the stylist asked if I was sure I wanted to go so short because it would result in most of the colour being cut off. That should have been taken into consideration when applying the colour and not after the fact. The end result looks okay but is disappointing because it isn’t what I asked for. The service was also very expensive and I regret booking for balayage which is much more pricey when what I got was essentially highlights. I don't mind paying higher prices but I expect to be wowed and I walked away feeling that it was just okay. Overall, the customer service was exceptional but the result was underwhelming. I would consider returning for a trim but not a major style or colour change. The quality of the work done at this salon is fantastic but if you’re uncomfortable with continually reminding the stylist of what you want you may walk away disappointed.

I have been struggling with finding a decent hairstylist for a few years. My initial issue was that my hair is very fine and the whole washing my hair process and then brushing it would be the most painful out of them all. I’ve gone to top masters and still would get the same result, until I stumbled upon this hair salon. I have been going to Ali since fall 2018 and I never have to look for a perfect hairstylist anymore. The amount of care and attention to details he shows is unbelievable. His positive energy lifts you up so much that you always leave this place happy with gorgeous looking hair style and amazing mood. He does wonders and truly cares what would be best for me and my hair. He offers really valuable advice and the process of washing my hair became my most favourite part of the visit. The service is also amazing - from the moment you walk in to the salon until you leave. Absolutely recommend to anyone.

I did not at all recieve what I asked for and it cost $440 which doesnt include a cut. I received highlights, toner and a basic blow dry. Also I was charged for balayage which I didnt recieve. What I asked for: -remove brass - overall full head of highlights (lots of highlights to get rid of most of brass by overall lightening) -level 10/11 very light blonde - cream/vanilla tone - no gold or ash tones -lighter around the front and hairline -dont want dark on roots (level 8 is waaaay to dark and I specifically said i dont want darker or dull ash) What I recieved: - highlights - not nearly enough highlights to lighten overall to remove brass - dark level 8 ash oner/colour all around my roots and front/hairline - dull ashy tones mixed with gold/brass in the rest of the hair not bright level 10/11 I asked for - now too dark at roots/hairline and lighter golden/ash at the ends - terrible contrast, looks like i need to get my roots done, and again what I came in with for him to fix There is a MAJOR issue with the communication and the consultation process. It would seem that Matthew does what he likes/thinks is best rather than listen to what the client wants. He clearly did not listen during the consultation process or at all after that, as he shouldve told me if he cannot do what I am asking for. I very clearly communicated at the consultation (with photos), prior to the service, repeated attempts to intervene during the service (as I realized he wasnt doing what I asked) and after (when I was so upset that he ignored what I was saying during and after. I noted several times to him and the stylist he had blow dry my hair (as he sat on his computer ignoring me once he finished) that he did not do what I asked and did exactly what I said I didnt want, then after many attempts while I was still there to tell him and ask him to fix it, he refused, then told me Id have to do it on the next visit 6-8 weeks later! WHAT? Pay another $440 again to get what I asked for the first time? I contacted the salon via email that evening after I left to communicate my discontent. He responded saying"hes happy with what he did" and he "did a great job" seriously? I emailed again to summarize what I has asked for and what I recieved askign him to fix it. He called me back, told me he did not read my email! And continued to say the same thing that he will not redo it due to potential further damage and that he did do a balayage? I ask him to explain how he provided me balayage service for $110 more than the highlights and toner I actually recieved and he said becasue he brought the toner through the ends? he grabbed a few peices that were sticking out of foils, gathered them together, put a toner/lighter on the ends and wrapped what little hair he had done that to and put it into 2 foils and left it on for 10 min. it appears Im not the only one this has happened to. I emailed again and with the photos of before, after and pics of what I asked for - no reply The website says he guarentees there work for a week after service which he did NOT follow through with as he claims. He refuses to fix the further mess he made of my hair. Now Im left paying $440 for further damaged my hair that is not what I asked for, the tones and colour I sqid I DID NOT want, and a darker colour all around the face/root, not the lightneness/level I asked for, and still an ashy tone mixed with brass still remaining. It is worse than what I came in with with the only exception that there is a bit less brass becasue he toned it ashy again. I wanted overall highlights to lift lighter to get rid of the brass not darker or an ashy tone. I went to him to fix my hair and I didnt recieve what I asked for and have further processed my hair only for him to tell me after that my hair will be too damaged to lighten it as I had asked him, he refuses to fix it or refund me.

It's very modern but comfortable, and the staff are friendly and personable - I travel to Oakville from Mississauga just so I can get my hair done here. Cassandra does an amazing, quality job on my hair (blonde balayage), and I always leave the salon feeling great about how I look. She is very knowledgeable about colouring in particular and will answer any questions that you may have about your particular process (which makes me feel 10x more comfortable about having her work on my hair!). By far the best salon I have ever gone to! The atmosphere is great and customer service is 10/10. I got a terrible "balayage" from another salon and came to Roman at Matthew Jonathan to fix it. He is simply amazing, as is Cassandra (and the rest of the stylists). I always come out with beautiful, natural-looking colour and have never received or been worried about receiving a "bad haircut". He takes extra care to give you the right advice and the right treatment to your hair.
