My first time first impression was that the place is very clean and has a groovy interior (ceilings lights and black pipes). My haircut appointment was with Suzy and she is so personable and welcoming. The consultation process was great- she listened patiently to what I wanted done to my hair and also gave me her own suggestions. The head massage she gave me at the time of my hair wash was so relaxing. And she did exactly what I wanted with layers. Also she would give me an update on what she is doing which is great. I just hate it when hair stylists go on for a full hour doing stuff with you hair and don't tell you what they're doing, so you're in a mystery as to what is going on. I found my new go-to salon! I called Hair design to take an appt for highlights and cut. Was informed curtly on the phone when I gave them my number( as I visit Hair design often )that because I had a cancellation in the past they need a credit card to book my appt !?!?!?!?!? I have been their customer ever since we moved to Oakville in 2005 and they were at Neyagawa. I have given them several referrals as I was so happy with their service but after today....There will be no good or positive feedback for you Hair Design .. ever. You need a 24 hour notice for cancellation, well guess what... Sometimes life happens and that’s not possible. Would you have been okay if I came to the appt with a bout of viral flu?!? Now that I think of it, I should have kept my appt and contaminated your “esteemed, high headed “ place . I feel so ridiculous after this call to you today. There are umpteen number of salons....and will have mine and my friends and families business. This post about my experience will be shared in every group/every local organisation I am a part of. You are in the community because of people like us who valued you. If you fail to value my business.. I don’t consider you a part of my community anymore.

I just moved to Oakville, Ontario from Florida in August and I was referred to this hair salon by a friend of mine. I had to bring my infant with me as I don’t have any baby sitters yet (ughhhh). I didn’t realize it at the time, but my baby was dealing with a double ear infection. When we got to the salon, he was asleep, but when he woke up he screamed and screamed. The INCREDIBLE ladies at this salon were so understanding. I was mortified that I couldn’t calm my child down. I felt so bad. The woman at the front desk offered to hold my child while I was getting my hair done. It was incredibly selfless of her. I was so embarrassed that I couldn’t get my child to stop crying, but she got him to fall asleep. It was awesome. As for my stylist, Rachel, she was amazing. Seriously. I chopped all my hair off. Went completely short. And she made it look exactly how I envisioned. She was incredibly understanding and kind (especially with a crying baby in her ear). The whole staff was just incredibly sweet an accommodating. I’ll be making another appointment soon (without the baby!)

Price and service do not match up. They re-dyed my hair twice, but did not get the required result. I was coloured unevenly. The skin on my scalp was burned, my hair is damaged now and has a green tint. Also, two people besides me were disappointed after the hair coloring, while I was there. I would not recommend this place.

Glad I decided to book Alysha for my first ever hair dye. She was amazing! She listened to what ideas I had in mind and was very knowledgeable and helpful in making me feel comfortable with the process. You can definitely tell that she has a lot of experience. The colour turned out perfect as I wanted a more natural and subtle look. I also got a haircut from her and she gave me exactly what I asked for. Aside from the haircut, she was an amazing person to talk to throughout the entire appointment, it felt like talking to an old friend. Reception was also very kind and professional. I will for sure be coming back and booking her again for all of my hair needs! Had a great experience.

I won a gift card for Hair Design Co at a fundraiser and was excited to try it out because my hair was in need of a serious revamping (dead, frizzy and broken). I thought I was only going for a hair cut but Susie took the time to do a detailed consultation and suggested the Olaplex treatment to fix up my dead hair. I could not be happier with the results. My hair is back to being shiny and smooth and even blonder than before. Susie also took the time to cut my hair in a way that would be flattering for me and took the time to get rid of every visible split end. Highly recommend and will definitely be a returning client!!
