Lee did a great job on my haircut! I was very impressed with his attention to detail as he took so much time to make sure everything was perfect. Didn’t rush the process and made sure he knew what I wanted. I’m picky about my hair and I love my cut. The salon itself was nice and had a great atmosphere. The pricing is very reasonable as well. I would definetly reccomend gold hair lounge.

Stella, Lee, Ayae, and Miri came by my place to do hair and makeup for my wedding. Stella was the most amazing hair and makeup stylist I've ever experienced. I highly recommend her to any bride wanting perfect hair and makeup. Lee, Ayae, and Miri did the hair and makeup of my bridesmaids and flower girl. They also looked beautiful. Not only was the result perfect, they also helped make the experience fun and exciting.

Every single time I go to the hair dresser and ask for layers they basically leave it all one length so it is heavy, thick, and my curls dont take shape. Juned gave me the perfect layers, an amazing colour, and even deep conditioned it to help make my hair feel and look amazing!! Definitely recommend Juned if you have thick hair!

Great salon and super cool owners (Anna & Vancy) On my first visit, I received superb service by Juned. I was impressed by his talent and by how quickly he understood exactly what I wanted. He didn't make feel like my extra thick and long hair was a hassle and he took the time to make sure I was happy. I've had great hair stylists in the past but Juned is a perfect fit for me. The salon is comfortable and they are using Bumble & Bumble products, which is a plus. I definitely recommend!

I love the end result of my haircut. My hair is thick, coarse, heavy, and difficult to manage. So cutting hair for me has been a hit and miss experience. Went to gold hair lounge, got cut, they guy took his time to make sure he understood the shape of my head and voila.. excellent result. I got alot of compliments, and most importantly my neck can breathe again after covid. Thank you Juned! You are awesome. I didn't give it 5 stars because, i waited for 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, and there was a mix up with the online booking. I booked with sayaka, and ended up with Juned, without being asked if it was okay wit it prior to coming. Not that i regretted it, cuz juned rocked it!..

I needed a last-minute root touch-up, and I'm from out-of-town. This salon came up as one of the best in Victoria. I booked an appointment, but had to change it. The salon was very accommodating. Lee did an excellent job with the colour, it looks beautiful and natural, and makes my highlights look fresh. Excellent service and very professional. Lee listened to what I needed, and gave me exactly that. If I lived in Victoria, I would make this my go-to salon. The salon is attractive, with a great choice of products (mostly Bumble&Bumble). Lee did everything, from colour to washing to blow-drying, so it's not a salon with many people milling about doing this and that for you, which I prefer. I highly recommend an appointment with Lee, but I think anyone at this salon would do a wonderful job.

Interesting experience...phoned for an appointment and was told I would be with Shawnee..got there and was told I would be with Lorraine so I went with it. The cut was good but I honestly wasn't wowed for the $57.25 plus tax. I would give 4 stars but the suggestive selling of the products is a turn off and the switch of who was cutting my hair was odd.

Disappointing customer service. I've just moved to Victoria and was looking for a good hair salon. I called Gold Hair Lounge to see if they do Japanese straight perm. The receptionist I talked to didn't know what it was. This is kind of understandable since this technique is from Japan and a lot of hair stylists out of Japan doesn't even no about it. But I thought because they have a Japanese hair stylist working at the salon, they might be offering this perm. The receptionist told me that she will ask the Japanese hair stylist about it and have her call me back. They never called me back. How hard is it to fallow up with a customer? Shouldn't be hard if you are running professional business and unfortunately, they are not one of them. They called me back a week later from my phone call with all the excuse why they couldn't get touch with me... They probably sew this review and decided to call me... typical...

I came from Vancouver to Victoria to get my balayage done on 10th September from here as i have heard alot good about the salon. My hair color is almost gone after my first wash. I had my appointment with Lee and I made sure with her that if i get this Ash blonde highlights would be stay longer he did agree and I even asked for preferred shampoo but still after first wash i saw it was fading a bit but after two- three washes my hair color is same as before the copper one which i had before! I don’t know what to do i even can’t travel again back soon I can’t see the color which i saw the very first time when the balayage was done. I do appreciate the efforts but I don’t know what to do now? Even i asked for layers in my hair they were also not done properly the way they should be I’m very disappointed i wasted almost $300 there. It was a bad experience. I hope the owner will help me out by now.

My hair looks great day to day and on days where I straighten it...the latter of which is extremely difficult to pull off if the stylist doesn't know how to cut it properly. He made a point of asking for pictures of what I wanted so that there were no miscommunications. Being in his chair was a blast, as he effortlessly made lively conversation with me about my hairs history and basically anything else I wanted to talk about. The absolute worst salon experience of my life. 0/5 stars if I could. She bleached my whole head completely and I sat there for hours for her to say that the color wasn't right and that she wanted to start the whole process over again. She then went ahead and bleached my whole head AGAIN. She left me and bounced me around stylists for them to "fix" it. Went through the whole process over again, sitting in bleach for hours for the end product to be bleach barbie blonde hair, an orange brass ring around the top of my head, and hair that was completely and utterly dead. Not even close to what we talked about. I said I didn't like it at all and as a "sorry" she offered me 50% off of my haircut!!!! a slap in the face. The salon management is incompetent and basically in the end said that it was my opinion that it didn't look good and that they shouldn't fix it for free cause its wasting their "precious" time and money and product. They took no responsibility and I had to twist their arm for a refund which they returned via check. You wouldn't be wasting any time, money, or product if the job was done right. I was in tears. Went back to an old stylist and had to pay to fix it. She says I shouldn't touch my hair for a year since its so damaged. A YEAR. These people don't know what they're doing... don't bother.

I’ve been going to this salon for nearly a year now and it is fabulous! I moved from the Lower Mainland to Victoria and wanted to find a solid salon I could count on. I went through so many different ones in the Vancouver area at varying prices and quality. What I was looking for was a place that was established, had a great reputation and good value for the money. Gold Salon came up more than once and after reading all reviews I took the plunge. I made my first appointment with Michael and have never been disappointed. His cuts always hit the mark and grow out beautifully. I really appreciate the clean-ups in between. He’s easy to talk to and I always have a great time. The colour job he did today was AMAZING! I always trust a stylist to do what they think is best and give as much creative license and my budget will allow. I never leave the salon unhappy with my cut or colour decision. Thanks again! Juned was my hairstylist. I got a treatment and a hair cut. When Juned was done he blow styled my hair. He was very respectful and we didn’t talk that much which is something I personally like in a hairstylist. He asked if I was comfortable a few different times. He did not push product on me to buy nor be rude in any way. My hair looks and feels beautiful. The salon was abiding by covid policies and sanitizing regularly (as soon as a client left a chair) and asked me to sanitize when I entered, as well ask request me to call upon arrival not wanting people waiting inside. Terrible experience. The staff was nice but had no idea what they were doing. All I wanted was a quick style by curling my hair with hot tools. My hair wasn't curled evenly at all by the end. It looked extremely sloppy and was barely curled at all except at the last two inches out my hair in some places (which is almost down to my hips so it was pretty much just straight). My hair is naturally curly but time consuming to deal with so I thought it would be nice to have someone else to style it. Boy was I wrong. I could have done a better job at home. Hell, it would have looked better if I did nothing at all.

Just had my first visit earlier today, and since they're only into there second week open, I thought id leave a review for anyone who's considering going. I've been getting my hair cut/ coloured/ trimmed exc. for about a year already from Carlos and every time I leave i'm beyond happy with what he does. I saw him at his new location today (gold hair lounge) and as always, I'm beyond satisfied with my new cut. Walked out with confidence. He always has great suggestions with what products to use in my hair and he explains the products that he uses in my hair and what they do. The atmosphere in the salon is more then welcoming, which I find I have a hard time with at a lot of other places. I walked in feeling comfortable, confident and relaxed, unlike a lot of other places where I've felt out of place or as if I'm being judged. If you didn't know the GHL had just opened you wouldn't be able to tell either, the place looks amazing and well put together, perfect amount of space, bright lighting, which was perfect for being able to see everything that was going on with my cut, along with the massive mirrors. Anyways, I highly suggest checking out Gold Hair Lounge for your next hair care appointment. :D Oh and another great thing is every time I get my hair done by Carlos he always does a "check up" around 2 weeks later to see how it's settled and if I need/want any touch ups or changes. :D :D

My stylist is JUNED! He is much more than that; he is truly an ARTIST! I have had my hair done last July and then again this past April from JUNED. I had given him somewhat of an idea of what I wanted and he was thoughtful and kind and made a few suggestions to what I thought might look good. But he clearly took the reins and did the most amazing blonde color highlights and a trim. The color blended so well with my complexion and the way my hair grows. Putting foils in six or so months after the roots have grown out first foils have grown out is not the easiest task. Somehow JUNED made it look like I was born with these highlights. It sounds maybe a little silly, but just the time there relaxing and having someone wash my hair and put the color in makes a girl feel like a million bucks! I am so lucky to have had the pleasure to meet JUNED and have him do my hair. Like I said, the man is truly an artist and any one that gets the chance to have him as your stylist is one fortunate person!! THANK YOU JUNED!!

Great friendly staff and beautiful salon. Unfortunately, my hair colouring fell short. I asked for a light silver colour and was left with a grey colour that is super patchy with brassy and over toned areas. For the amount I payed and the 8 hours I sat in a chair, I am extremely disappointed by the service. I even booked with their most experienced colourist. Now, I’ve booked with another salon to fix these problems. Wish I went with a different salon. The appointment at Gold Hair Salon cost me cost me almost $500! I expected at that cost, it would have been be perfect. :(

My stylist at my usual salon wasn't available, and I was in dire need of a haircut. Juned came highly recommended by a friend, so I decided to give him a try. He gave me the best haircut I have ever had! It was a completely new style based on a discussion that we had at the beginning of the appointment. I waited a few weeks before writing this review as I have found in the past that you sometimes leave a salon, but you can never make your hair look that good again. This was definitely not the case after seeing Juned. He did such a brilliant job that my hair is easy to manage, even with minimal effort. I would highly recommend Juned to anyone in Victoria.

I had been canceled on by one salon, then at another salon the person told me they could not do ash blonde balayage. I had planned to get my hair done before I went on holidays but did not know where to go last minute and with summer being busy..... After getting in on short notice I was able to see Erinn. She was able to match up my roots and did exactly what I wanted. The steps taken to deal with the social distancing and sanitizing issues have been superb. Clients and staff wear face masks (provided free by the salon), gloves are worn, stations are wide apart and continuous cleaned, and appointments are spaced out. I felt totally safe and protected. My only difficulty at the salon was that the music was a bit on the loud side and sometimes made it hard to hear and speak over while trying to talk and wearing masks. Juned was a very professional, knowledgeable, and skilled stylist. He went to great lengths to ensure I was comfortable, and kept up to date while I was waiting for my appointment time. He was attentive and listened carefully to what I was looking for; gives a wonderful scalp massage during shampoo/conditioning; gave me a beautiful cut and style; and worked to show me how to replicate it on my own. I have never felt SO good after getting a haircut. I had super long hair and got a drastic angled lob from Kaitlyn. I've never had short hair so I was freaking out to say the least. Kaitlyn cut my hair in stages, shorter each time, checking in with me after each stage to make sure I was comfortable with the length. She put a lot of care into it and understood how nervous I was. I also didn't need to explain what I wanted in much detail, she immediately understood and I felt we were on the same page from the start. It looks better than I thought it would! After coming home when I style my hair it looks the same. I paid around 250 $ and I am very disappointed. She was late to start about 30 minutes. I want to share my experience and will try to keep all emotion out and be candid so others can make a decision based on facts. I have a ton of pictures and no reason to lie. I am also a local. I wanted to try a new stylist and get a second opinion from the person that did my hair for the past year with not very consistent results. I found Gold Salon online through a Google search. It was rated high and had several positive comments - read on for why that is. I researched them, and six other hair salons across Greater Victoria. I selected Michael based on user reviews that described him as "not only an extraordinary stylist, he is a wizard with color." His website profile touts him as "chemical smoothing treatment, color formula and color correction specialist." I booked a consult with him, super nice guy. During my consult, I showed several pictures of ME, with different variations of me as a blond. I have been a blond for a decade, I have no issues with lifting, bleaching, processing, never had damaged hair that required professional treatment. I know my hair quite well. But i am not an expert. My hair looked "thirsty" to him, which i don't deny. One hindsight comment i note now is that during the consult he had nothing positive to say about any of the products I have been previously using - bad Moroccan Oil, bad argan oil, bad Olaplex, bad KMS, bad AG, even Redken soft shampoo was not good - basically nothing but his products met his standards. I chalked it up to Sales glib, and even thought this could be why my hair wasn't consistent. I believed him. Day of makeover is on, I was so excited as my dark roots were 10 weeks grown (yuk!). I spent 4.5 hours in his chair that day and he dried it with my back turned so it could be a surprise (that was my choice too - i was so excited!). As he dried it, he commented on some inconsistency of the color and said I should come back in a few days to fix it. When i got to see it, it looked blond, but i didn't really inspect it in that detail. He said my hair lifted really well, but he needs to tone it once more. I left a hefty 25% tip and walked out thinking no biggie, I’ll come back in a few days. I got home and maybe the lighting in the salon was too white to notice, but upon inspection, it had more than 3 differing colors in it. I had an ashy color at the roots, scattered warm and cool blond throughout, but most noticeably, purple/blue highlights scattered around my crown. In a ponytail, you only saw purple. I liked the blond but the purple was too noticeable to go to work with. So I called and asked him to take me earlier. It was just a toner after all. He did. I went in the next day. I told him I loved the color (blond) throughout, but it needs to be one color and it can’t be purple. I was humorous and polite, but at his mercy at this point. I honestly thought a toner was all I needed. But he decided to "neutralize" my hair for some reason, to make it match the ashy root color. I asked if it’s safe for my hair, his reply “with my products it is”. 2.5 hours later (7 hours total) he is heat drying it again. I comment that it is much darker (ashy) and asked him why he darkened it. He said I matched your roots. I said, oh but I was okay with the blond, just not the blue. He said oh, sorry. He saw the disappointment in my face, but actually made the comment that my hair has been a challenge for him and is beyond his skill level. He knew i was never coming back. My hair is actually less blond than it was when I walked in. He says it will lighten over the washes, i'm hoping he's right but have little faith. The ultimate bummer is that my hair is burnt along my crown. It is white along my forehead and I visibly lost hair around the crown (i have an inch and a half left along the top of my head). It also still looks thirsty after one wash - no shampoo, no heat. On a separate but worthy note, they provide client discounts for google reviews. You would only leave a positive review if you intend to go back for that discount.

Was not told my professional stylist was a student. My hair was bleached to the point where it completely broke off about 1 inch from my scalp all over the hairline perimeter. The owner of the salon, Anna , promised me a conditioning treatment . I confirmed with her the day of my appointment - drove 45 mins down to vic only to be told that I had no pavement and they would not get me until the following week. Start to finish it was terrible service mistakes happen but they did nothing to correct it and make it right absolutely horrible would not recommend a salon the owner or the stylist. The salon does not back up at their stylist they do not supervise them and yet they charge you above and beyond what is the going rate thumbs down

Probably one of my worst haircuts ever. My stylist didn’t work with my curly hair at all my hair is worse than when I walked in. I’m left having to get a repair haircut elsewhere because they wouldn’t do one themselves. Definitely would not recommend.

I came in for a haircut with a tall order to fill - my style had grown out and was a hot, uneven mess, I am attempting to grow my hair out, and short as it was, I did not want to go too much shorter because I need to be able to stuff my hair under a swim cap on the regular. I came to this salon after just having moved here in July of 2017. It had great reviews, I needed a cut before starting my new job. The staff and reception were very kind! I don't remember my stylists name, she was a very sweet Armenian girl....but she gave me a VERY blunt, not well blended layer cut... I had her curl my hair after to try to blend it all together a bit better... If I didn't curl it a very specific way...then I literally had the worst SHELF of hair layered over my thin long bottom layer. It was not pretty. I ended up having to cut 4.5 inches off the match the thick giant layer (after it had grown out a little bit). I never complained because she was very sweet and I felt like maybe I could just deal with it or fix it myself! I spent the rest of the summer hiding my hair in buns until I finally got it fixed at Artist Salon! This salon seems great I think I just ended up with a student or fluke experience.

Juned was very attentive, worked efficiently and had such a warm , engaging , welcoming demeanour. I instantly felt comfortable and cared for . I got tape in extensions done with Mary. She did not wash my hair in between removing extensions and placing them back on (as you’re supposed to with a clarifying shampoo to get the glue residue out), but charged me the regular price. She also did not match up my extensions when she was done and they were choppy and had extreme layers showing. I had to ask her to do that…

I honestly have not had a great hair cut since before covid. To begin with I don't have, "pretty hair." It is fine and thin, but crazy curly. I don't know how to care for it and most of the time it just looks fuzzy. M was amazing. They talked me through the whole process of caring for my curls, and I walked away with a chic and easy to care for hair cut. My hair feels thick and healthy for the first time in years. The salon has a nice laid back vibe and I would highly recommend Gold Hair Salon and M as a stylist. I got a great cut and an education in curls ????
