I needed a hair update for some upcoming meetings I had. I have never been to Gemi, but when I saw that they were Victoria SPCA supporters, I knew I had to try them out. What an amazing service I had! Bobbi Jo listened to me and I got exactly the cut and colour I was looking for. From the moment you walk in, to the coffee or in my case, tea, that you are offered, to the consultation, to the friendly (OMG super friendly) staff, I was blown away. I highly recommend Bobbi Jo specifically, but I am sure the others are as talented, to anyone! And know that you are helping a homeless pet in the future!

There is a nice coffee shop, Sumeria Caffe Bar To Go, tucked in front of Gemi Hair. I can tell you l that they have good coffee, yet after for going there for many years, I still don't know what it costs, because when you get a cut at Gemi, the coffee is free! They have a large staff, so you will find someone who can do your hair in a way that you will like. Bonus: a portion of products and and supplies sold at Gemi is donated to the Victoria SPCA. However they need to invest in a good bicycle parking rack!

Josh changed my life. I have been trying to get this shade of blonde since I was 16, and have absolutely ruined my hair doing bleach jobs on myself. I came in with a head of half brown overgrowth and half old yellow bleached hair, and left with the must beautiful blond you can imagine. He didn't get any bleach on the broken hair and matched my overgrowth to it, then toned it to perfection. He is a true artist!

Best prices on hair and skin products in Victoria! I get my tanning lotion here and it is always 50% cheaper, at least, than the tanning studio. Staff are quite knowlegable of products and friendly. Went in for a simple wash and blow dry with Jasmine left looking like a troll doll. I had an engagement that evening and wanted a sleek blow however my blow dry left me with a frizzy mess. I didn't have time to discuss it or have her try to fix it. I sat in her chair for 1.5 hrs and was late to my event. The worst part is that everyone else at the salon could see the mess I was walking out with, if this was my salon I would never let a client leave with hair like that representing my salon. Will not go back here again!

Today, when I brought back a hairspray they'd recommended because the scent gave me a headache, the staff was dismissive, verging on rude, suggesting I give the hairspray to a friend! I just had my hair permed at Gemi in October. The stylist, Alex is great. But I have "a stone in my shoe" about Gemi's business practice--namely, sneaky extra charges and charging PST for non-taxable services. After I figured this out and requested details, the owner neither admitted nor refunded, rudely and arrogantly suggesting that the problem was mine, and that I should show the receipt to the government. A couple of my friends have asked me to recommend a hair salon. I would love to recommend this one, but I cannot.

We had Lee as our hair stylist on Nov 7th, which was our wedding day His regular hours starts at 11, but as that would be too late for us, he scheduled us for 9 It was raining when he finished fixing our hair, so he escorted both of us out with an umbrella so that our hair would not be disturbed by the rain Definitely the best customer service we have ever experienced, wish I could give a 6 star instead.

I have been purchasing hair supplies from Gemi for 20+ years. Fadi and his team are great and always willing to help. The prices are the best in town and the selection is incredible. An added bonus is the points system as well as part of the proceeds being donated to the local SPCA. The hairdressers know what they are doing and are often bilingual which is helpful to many. The addition of a coffee shop is the cherry on top and you will be offered a beveredge of your choice during your appointment. Highly recommend Gemi for all your hair needs!

Gemi Hair Salon & Phoenicia Styles is by far my favourite salon in Victoria. The staff are always friendly & accommodating of me (and always offer a delicious beverage from the adjoining cafe). Lee Soo, my stylist, is a hair master! He is both meticulous and pleasant. He continuously checks in with me to ensure the desired length of my haircut; and never pressured me into purchasing any products. In addition, when I am away from Victoria and my hair grows out, it still maintains a shape (and doesn't look ridiculously awkward). Having had some really unfortunate experiences at other salons in Victoria, I love that Gemi is not pretentious but chill. I am always leave Gemi feeling pleased.

Josh displayed some true "Southern" hospitality and provided coffee for my husband (after I declined), who was waiting (quite comfortably) in the reception area for me, and now with the coffee,very happy. Altogether a great experience. I love my cut and my husband loves it--a new look for me. I gave Josh an idea from the Internet, he found it, and he modified it due to my fine hair texture and it worked. He is a true professional, and so talented. My stylist here could not replicate the cut when I showed it to her. I need to go back to Josh! He is delightful. You will love him. I miss you, Josh!

I had gone to Gemi for years to buy products. They have the best selection and prices of chemical free hair products in town. I finally decided to try one of their stylists. I booked with Joshua and I could not be more pleased. Finally a stylist that LISTENS TO ME! Josh does not feel the need to cut a lot of hair in order to give me my money's worth. As well, he understands thick, course hair and thins it in a way that does not make it frizzy. The little extra's are nice as well such as parking and nice warm mug of peppermint tea. I have been through many stylists in Victoria and feel I have finally found THE ONE!

Excellent haircut ! Alex , trained in the orient and here , gave me a texterized cut that left the length and removed years of damaged dry ends . He also conditioned my hair which left it amazingly silky . The shop itself is comfortable and roomy . I buy my hair products here as well , they have everything ypu will need at good prices .
