Thank you Rick for an amazing haircut! My experience at Maze was probably one of the best salon experiences I've had in a very long time. The interior is nicely styled, with lockers in the back to store your things. Rick was a very patient and delicate with my hair; I have never seen such attention to detail with a real artist's mindset. I am very impressed with Rick! He wasn't comfortable with English, but luckily I was able to communicate in Chinese :) I left the salon feeling like I had such beautiful hair. Well worth what I paid for. Thank you!

Found this gem in the same building as my tattoo shop. Had work done with Jason and his assistant? Great interior, clean, great work on my hair. I can't believe how many have messed up following a side shave but Jason was very precise and did a great line up. Dye job was bang on too! I had an amazing experience at the Maze! It was recommended by a coworker and I'm super happy she did. It has been a few years since the last time I went to a salon to get a hair cut because of the bad experience I've had before. I've had a lot of hairdresser who wouldn't listen to what I wanted or would listen to me and then change their minds without telling me so I've been a little wary about going the hairdresser for a long time. But my coworker told me about the Maze and that Jason was very patient, listened to her, and worked with her to make her ideal hairstyle a reality I decided to give it a try. When I went in the salon I was still a little nervous about the results, but the girl who washed my hair made me feel very at ease and she was very gentle with my hair, it was nice to have someone else wash my hair for a change :D When Jason came out I was still a little nervous about the haircut because I didn't know what to expect, but he was very friendly and patient about what I wanted. We had a little back and forth about what kind of hair I wanted and he explained to me why certain hairstyles wouldn't work for me due to a various different reasons (hair type, head shape, face shape etc) which made me much more relaxed because it made me feel like he wanted to give me his professional advice but still genuinely wanted to give me what I wanted. He was also very considerate and started on the conservative side, because I wanted to cut about 15 inches off my hair and he was worried that I wouldn't get used to it. As he was cutting my hair he also explained to me why he was cutting my hair in a certain way and how I should maintain my hair. At the end of the cut he also showed me how to curl my hair curtain way so I could recreate it at home. I was super happy when he finished my hairstyle, it was exactly what I wanted and imagined! I would definitely recommend Jason to anyone! My boyfriend even said that it feels like he got a new girlfriend and couldn't take his eyes off of me :D needless to say I will definitely go back for another haircut!! Thanks Jason!

My first stylist, Rick, took the time to cut my hair and asked if everything is okay. Showed me the mirror afterwards so I can see my back and sides. My second stylist, William, did not ask any questions about my concerns and di not show me any mirrors. Instead it was sit, buzz, and go. There is one consistent thing about their service: Throughout all four times, after washing my hair, the towel wasn't wrapped around my head causing water to drip as I walk back to my chair, but I see this service performed on other clients. Why? My suspicion is that it is because I don't speak Mandarin. And while the owners may respond with "we treat everyone the same", all four times I have been to this place suggests otherwise. For the price, Seefu, up the street, gives me pampering, back/shoulder massage, offers me water. None of which The Maze does. I read Google comments about this place where the owner responds with "how can we do better?" The answer is grow up and treat all your clients the same -- Mandarin speaking or otherwise. The Maze is ran by a group of young adults who likely pooled money together to start a business; unlikely to grow as they restrict their clients due to their own biases.

I have been to The Maze a few times for a haircut and have always had a great experience. I had Rick as my stylist. He listens to what you want and takes his time to ensure you are satisfied with the cut. I can tell he's very skillful and have always been more than happy with my cut. My boyfriend also goes to Rick and has had an equally positive experience. The people here are overall friendly and professional. The salon is clean and well decorated. Got bangs trimmed and they charged me $20 but the website clearly lists the price is $15. Robbery!! I was a walk in, so I didn’t check the price before sitting down which is my fault, but that’s not even the worst thing that happened. The stylist (in training) never spoke to me when I asked him questions, instead deferring to a colleague every time. Okay, I understand that novices need experience too— but consent matters. If I had known the stylist was a junior I would have never agreed to let him cut my hair. Literally I’ve had better trims for $5 in Chinatown!

I came with balayage with roots over grown and was looking to go darker for fall. Jason spent a great deal of time explaining what colours would go well and even took out the huge colour chart to test and match. Definitely in love with my results! Plus my hair does not feel dry at all. My new go to place for anything hair related. Highly recommended.

Finally decided to go to hair salon to just trim my hair and cut them shorter. Called ahead knowing that there might be no spots available bcs of weekend. But they were super nice and flexible so I could make it right after my work. Rick was great as well as a girl who assisted him. Very friendly and professional. Love the freshness of my shorter hair and the place is great!

I had one of the earliest appointments and had to wait for hairdresser (Jason) for 40 minutes because they were finishing another client (who was supposed to come 30 min before me but came 20min late so they just decided to take him) also while cutting my hair he went to help out another hairdresser for 5min (mid way cutting my hair!) At the end he cut my hair for 30 min, while I was waiting for him for 40. Overall, he really did a great job and I'm really happy with the way my hair look now, but this unprofessional attitude really throws me off. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who dislikes to wait, but if you are looking for a good cut this place is nice

I tried many stylists in Maze, naming Jason, William, and the Guy with a pair of glasses. None of them disappointed me. This hair salon has always been my first choice since they opened in last year.
