Sonia has been cutting my hair for the past 4.5 years and has been extremely consistent and even provides her own input on what sort of style I should have for my type of face. I’ve been going to my previous stylist for 10+ years and had trouble switching until I went to Hair Plus and cannot imagine going anywhere else! It’s amazing to see her and her daughter Tina (beautinahairstudio on Instagram) collaborate and work as an awesome duo! For those who are looking for coloring specialists, Tina is the one to talk to!

I came in for a haircut with Tina a couple of days ago. It was my first time at hair plus and I will definitely be returning. She’s professional and knowledgeable in giving me tips on maintaining my colour and keeping it healthy. She took her time with cutting my hair and making sure that I was satisfied with how it’s looking. Very friendly and laid back vibe. She even sent a message afterwards just to say thank you for coming in. That was very sweet and unexpected. Can’t wait to go back for colour next time!

I have gone to Tina for separate appointments. The first one being a colour (balayage) appointment. I had come across her work on social media and knew I wanted to book an appointment with her right away. She is such a warm and friendly person, and also very talented in what she does! She is very thorough during the consultation in what you are looking to achieve in your hair goals. It has been 4 months since I had my balayage done with her and I am still super happy with my hair! I have been following her product recommendations and also message her with any questions I have so that I can continue to prolong the colour without the colour fading or going brassy/orange. The second appointment I had with Tina was for a cut. Again, Tina was thorough in her consult on what I wanted in my cut. This included a wash with the Fanola No Orange shampoo, cut, and style. I get very nervous with haircuts because I have had pretty bad ones in the past but Tina made me feel at ease and made sure I was happy with her work before leaving. Tina is absolutely my go-to hair person now, and not only is she my favourite hair dresser, but an amazing friend as well!

She really listens to the vision and works to deliver with an eye for detail and genuine passion. I have A LOT of hair, and its asian, so straight, slightly course and very stubborn. Initially had my hair cut and coloured by Tina and went back for toning recently. Tina is super sweet and has always taken the time to explain what would be involved in achieving the colour I want and how to maintain it, while stylists at other salons I’ve been to haven’t been realistic about what they’re able to achieve in 1-2 sessions. First time I go there. Good welcome and I loved my haircut. You feel that the lady that was cutting my hair knows what she is doing, does it with so much ease. 2 things I didn't like... 1- they didn't wash the hair, just spray water. I don't understand this concept here in Canada!!! Maybe cause I said that I only wanted a haircut. They still dried my hair and did a small blow dry which was nice 2- 2 ladies all the time talking with their own language which was not that nice. I was worried that she was not concentrating on my hair because they kept talking but it ended up well. Good prices and nice haircut.

My hair is really thick, dry and overall difficult to work with so I often find it really hard to find a good hairstylist that can cut my hair to the sample photos I show. Tina did an amazing job; my haircut was exactly how I showed her and wanted it to look. She was really gentle and explained to me each step of what she was doing which I appreciated. I love my new hairstyle so much I've already pre-booked reoccurring appointments for the future.

Excellent service and the hairstylist have very good skills. Also knows how to cut each different hairstyles. This hair shop is also really good for styling hair before the interview or photography (ID Card, Passport, etc)

It's not always the case when you find a salon that knows how to treat your hair and take care of you. Well folks, I have finally found it. I had went to Hair Plus on the suggestion of a family member and since then, have never went anywhere else. Sonia and Tina are amazing. I have never been disappointed with any colour or cut from them. If anything, I always walk out feeling and looking good, and I've received tons of compliments on my hair. They really know how to take care of you and your hair. They can accommodate walk-ins but it's better to make an appointment. Street parking is always available, but if you usually TTC it, they're close to Finch Station. I drive from Ajax just to see them. That's how much they rock :)

Always have a really good experience! Proper care of hair with nice conversations! Book ahead of time so you’re set for time. For a men’s cut, you’ll be in and out in 20 mins tops. I’ve had cuts, my first perm, my first bleach and light colour dye here. I recommend them all!

Me and my family have been going to Hair Plus for over a year. We have gotten our haircuts and I have also gotten a digital perm by Sonia. My most recent visit is to do balayage colour and cut with Tina. She’s AMAZING! My hair colour was perfect and I love my cut too! Even though I got my hair bleached, my hair is super soft and doesn’t feel damaged at all! Tina was really good at explaining the process! Highly recommend Tina! If you’re looking for balayage colour, Tina is it!

Came here for a wash, cut, and perm. The ladies at Hair Plus were really polite and professional. I showed my stylist a photo of what I wanted and right away she understood. The cut was quick as the stylist really knew what she was doing. Result turned out great. I called to book a same-day appointment. I was happy they could accommodate me around closing too. Theres limited parking out front so street parking on Yonge or parking at the Metro supermarket would be a possible alternative!

I was recommended here by someone and I am so happy that I found this place. First of all it is run by the sweetest people ever, and was in a convenient location too. I had Tina who is an absolute gem! She is so sweet, and is so very talented. My hair was pretty dull, and needed a major fix. I decided to go for balayage and what she did with my hair exceeded all my expectations! I left there with an entirely new hairstyle and feel like a brand new person. I had a great experience getting my hair done by Tina. It was my first time getting a balayage, and she walked me through the process and how to properly maintain it afterward. She was so sweet and took her time to make sure my hair looked good and stayed healthy, along with checking in if I needed to make a food run during our 5 hour session. I had also gotten a hair cut somewhere else a week beforehand and it was uneven, so Tina even fixed it for me. When I was there, she said, "Once you go blonde, you can't stop," and she's right because I want to go back to her and go even lighter now!

A horrible place would never recommend this place! the staff doesn't have experience at all! they charged $40 and didn't do their job.. the worker (she) cut off my wife's hair on 4 inches shorter! I think you know how hair is important for women! this place just ruined my wife's mood.. This place at least must make a refund... Never go there!

I’ve been going here for 10 years and I wouldn’t go anywhere else in Toronto. Trust me, I’ve been to many different Korean and Japanese salons in toronto—there’s a reason why I’ve been going here for so long. Sonia usually cuts my hair but recently, I’ve been going to Tina. I’ve been getting a lot of compliments on my cut!! I usually get a perm and this is the only place that doesn’t make me look like an ahjumma (older lady). Also, only place where my hair doesn’t look fried and dried out. The staff is always super friendly and inviting!

I started going to HairPlus about 4 years ago and when I moved further away I still make the trek to North York just to get my hair done by Sonia or Tina because I don’t trust any other hair salon. Sonia is always so great with my haircuts, happy with the result every time, she's really knowledgeable about what styles would work well for me. The first time I decided to do a vibrant colour (Pink) I went to Sonia and not only did it look amazing but even the product they use at the salon kept my hair so soft. They also showed me which product to use at home to keep my hair from being too damaged. I’ve continued to have my hair dyed a vibrant colour every year at HairPlus. Tina (Sonia’s daughter) recently started cutting and colouring my hair and I’m so happy with the care that she takes to make sure everything is perfect. All the staff is so friendly and inviting. I highly recommend Tina (@beautinahairstudio) for any colouring services!
