My friend recommended I go to the DBK on lawrence, so I called in and they were fully booked and suggested I try the Yorkmills location... and boy oh boy was that the best thing that has ever happened to me. They booked me in right away with stylist Victoria. I must say, I was a bit skeptical because like any person - im sure all of you have had that one terrible experience. I would always have to travel to my country of Origin to get my hair done because my stylist back home is the only person I could trust... not anymore :) Victoria was amazing. She took great care of me and she has an eye for detail and perfection. She will tell you the full price upon consultation so theres no suprises at the end. As she was doing my hair consultation she explained what would suit me, from my face shape to my hair tone, up to my skin tone. As she was doing my hair, I loved how she would talk me through the steps of what she was doing to understand the process. And as for trimming... she actually listens and respects the amount you want taken off. If you ever want a great job done, definitely go to her. Shes amazing and definitely consider her opinion because she knows her stuff. I dont give this place 5 stars, they deserve 10. I had an amazing experience here and I would 100% recommend this place. Pros: I was greeted well enough at the front and offered a coffee or tea, very pleasant. My stylist was friendly and nice, making small chat about hair etc. The salon was not busy at all (weekday evening) and the atmosphere was relaxing. My stylist took good care of my hair's softness and shininess, however... Cons: 1. She neglected the more important things like split ends, requested length and shape. At the time it looked nice enough although I was skeptical of the length and asked her to take off a bit more. Later at home I started noticing a lot of split ends and realized she had only trimmed the bottom whereas I had a layered cut before and ends were everywhere. The shape I requested was minimally met, I contemplated adjusting it myself afterwards. I then also noticed that my scalp was extremely dry and flaking - I had mentioned to her that my hair and scalp get very dry after a wash and she said she used a moisturizing conditioner as well as some hair oil, however she only applied the oil mid-hair down, so the scalp remained dry. 2. The mug in which I received my tea was dirty all around the mouth of the mug, with clear lipstick marks on it. Honestly if you don't have clean mugs at the time, don't offer it. 3. When initially trying to make my appointment online, there were no options after 5:30pm, when clearly there were available slots for 7pm (which I received when I called). TLDR; 1. Call for appointment, don't make it online. 2. Don't accept coffee/latte/tea/etc. 3. Be very specific and firm with what you want (cut, style, conditioning, etc)

From calling in for an appointment, to arriving at the door, through the process of having hair services completed, I have always been impressed with DBK. They do a very good job of making me feel like I am a valuable and welcomed client. The atmosphere is comfortable and not in the least bit pretentious as some salons can be. I love my talented stylist Viry. It took a long time to find someone who could colour and cut my fine, thin and short hair in a way that really makes me happy. I feel she puts 100% into every hair service she provides. Other family members have also become clients. DBK and Viry are both highly recommended.

All these reviews on Faiza, does her justice! It was my first time at DBK and after reading all the reviews I had to get my haircut by her and so should you. Ever since moving back to the area, I struggled to find someone who understands my hair. Thankfully Faiza not only cut my hair perfectly but also gave me some great advice on how to take care of my hair - esp as someone who is very low maintenance she was able to give me a haircut that requires just that. Cannot wait to come back in a few months! Shes super sweet, clean and just truly wants whats best for you.

Excellent cut, great service. I have had Esan twice now for cut/ cut style. He is exceptional. He listens to me and always does what I ask - not one of those sytlists who insists on cutting more than you ask. Very attentive and authentic - doesn't force conversation or zone out. I recently had my shoulder length hair coloured (balayage and grey cover up) plus a cut by Candy. She really took the time to listen to me and then made her professional recommendations which were right on the mark. I've had my hair coloured for many years and have to say that the ashy blonde colour and the careful artistic placement is the best result I've had. Candy took the time to make sure the colour I wanted was achieved even if it meant spending extra time applying heat by hand to process the colour to the right shade. The prices are very reasonable and I couldn't be happier with the results. Candy and the staff I dealt with were very friendly and professional.

So far I've gotten my hair cut twice at this salon by Ace, both times the workers there were very nice and Ace cut my hair exactly how I wanted it and he did so quickly. The salon was very neat and they cleaned the seats before I sat down. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this salon, I would definitely recommend this salon and if your looking for a nice cut I would suggest Ace.

I've been getting my hair done at DBK York Mills for years and I've always been extremely happy with the salon. I've been seeing Victoria lately and I cannot say enough good things about her! She is perfectionist in her work and truly cares about how your hair will turn out no matter how much time and effort it takes. The other night she transformed my hair into a natural looking platinum blonde. Her colleague came over to us at one point and said, "this is why we call her the colour guru!" And she really is... I've received so many compliments on the colour and I've recommended Victoria to every blonde I know!!

The staff at DBK on York Mills is incredible! They accommodated me despite me being the last customer Angela was going to deal with and I had concerns that she would rush my hair cut. My hair was terribly damaged and she made sure she really took care of it taking all the steps necessary and running me through the process of the haircut the whole time making sure I was comfortable with it. I was introduced to DBK Salon York Mills because my hair stylist moved there, so I followed suit. WHAT AN AMAZING DIFFERENCE!!!! Every single staff member is always so friendly, no matter who they are or what position they hold, they make eye-contact and greet you, if there is no one at reception, they step in to take your coat and offer you a coffee/tea/water... you just feel so important and taken care of. Once you book your next appointment with them, you get a reminder call AND a reminder email... And they are always so patient and accommodating while you figure out your schedule, or if you ever have to reschedule. They have brilliant customer service and I would recommend anyone to go there.

Viry was the stylist that I got my hair done from. I was getting my hair done for the first time and she was extremely patient with me and kept asking me through the entire process if I was doing ok. Definitely going to recommend her to anyone who is looking to get their hair done. The salon is at a great location the staff is friendly, although they did screw my appointment up the first time and didn't accommodate me on the same day but I was offered a discount to make up for that later. Keep up with the happy faces. And if you want to get your hair done and you are nervous and clueless then Viry should be your go to person. I came back in again only for her.

TLDR: Had a lovely experience with Candy. I called on the day of to see if they accepted walk-ins and they told me to come in immediately. The staff were lovely, the door was fully ajar and they were super clean so I felt great about my first pandemic haircut. Candy was truly LOVELY, told me about the price before she started to make sure it was OK, and the haircut is amazing—she’s clearly very skilled. I have a lot of hair, it is really thick, AND I keep it pretty much pixie length. So pleased. Thank you DBK!

As a first time visitor to York Mills location, my experience with this Salon was highly unpleasant, I called for an appointment for hair service on a Friday 26th Jan 2018 , my cell number was taken down and I was offered to be called back to let me know of availability, I received a call within 20 mins to let me know that they had availability for Sunday, I was happy to know they are open on Sunday's as I knew their other locations are not, anyway I was given an appointment for 10:00 am 28th January 2018. I receive a call again after 30 mins on same Friday from the salon - this time the same receptionist says its appointment reminder call and that they re-confirming all their weekend appointments, she immediately realizes we spoke and booked the appointment just 1/2 n hour back and hence reconfirms Sunday 10:00 am . On Sunday, I arrive at the salon at 9.58 am - to find it CLOSED, I see working hours printed on the door- Sunday working hours from 11:00 am. I was shocked and super frustrated as I needed the hair service done, so I decide to wait for an hour, at 10:55 am when the salon opened, I am told by the receptionist as per their system my appointment is booked for 11:50 am, this was never communicated to me during the 2 conversations I had on Friday , I explained my frustration and request to be serviced immediately as it was their mess up and I had waited too long already - All the receptionist had to say was she will give feedback to her colleague who worked on Friday and that all artists were busy and that I must wait until 11.50 am , - sorry - that's it !! . Absolutely no consideration for customer's time!!!!. It was very disappointing to see the way they handled situation was very poor- they said sorry and got back to business - they did not own their mistake nor provide alternatives. I have taken services from Victoria Terrace location and have never been treated this way there. - York Mills location is very unprofessional and lack customer service skills, receptionists definitely need training on how to treat and retain customer's, if they did not have artist availability, there were many other ways to compensate and how difficult is it to remember your WORKING hours prior to giving appointments, UNPROFESSIONAL!!

I was in need of hair colouring/tone after the previous colour faded. I booked a balayage + tone with Sabrina. From walking in I was greeted by front staff and then Sabrina walked me to consult about my hair history and inspiration photos. She was such a wonderful person through the whole process and made sure I was comfortable and knew exactly what to expect. Sabrina was able to apply her expertise and recommendations on which hair levels worked best, and the outcome exceeded my expectations! Now it has faded a bit but still looks natural. WOW! Great customer experience! I was doing a root touch up at home as always, but this time somehow, by accident I used a wrong colour and to my horror my my roots turned purple. I felt like I am gonna cry and laugh at the same time. I was so scared if this cannot be fixed and knew that I have to see a professional and he/she has to be a really good one. Immediately, I went to dbk in my neighborhood and asked for help. I had no appointment. The owner of the salon Frank greeted me and he was so kind to accommodate his schedule and the schedule of his staff to help me. Frank explained to me what was his plan on how to correct the colour. Three hours later, and after five people working hard on my hair , I was blonde again with some very settled low lights. I was soooo happy and my hair looked gorgeous. The entire staff was very courteous and genuinely interested to make my hair look nice. I had to write this post as Frank was a life saver and really did a fantastic job. Next time when I need a root touch up , I won't be doing it at home for sure.... Frank , see you in about six weeks!

I love Viridiana’s job ! 5 years ago I met her and since then I don’t let anyone to touch my hair unless is her. The products she use and tips she give me are amazing. She has an amazing customer service, always answer to my questions in a kind way. She is honest every time I am undecided about a new hair style that I want. Absolutely love this place. I’m really picky when it comes to who cuts my hair, but Vicky has been taking care of me for at least 3 years and I can’t imagine going anywhere else. Every time I’m greeted with a friendly smile, offered a complimentary coffee or tea, get my hair washed before and after. It’s not a fast-paced place, but it’s the perfect environment to relax and take a breath while you get a cut. Ilir (the owner) is a terrific guy as well, his commitment to customer satisfaction is unlike anyone else in the industry. 6/5 stars for DBK.

The service and staff as DBK Leslie is wonderful. I am always made to feel comfortable by the stylists and staff, who are not overly "fluffy" and I believe tailor their service to your personality and needs. Appointments are kept on time, and complimentary coffee/tea is presented on arrival. As far as fees, I find them better than and reasonable in comparison to similar salons--its what brought me to DBK in the first place--and the service has kept me here. You can go to an $8 salon, but you get what you pay for!! Since becoming a client of DBK, I have seen 3 stylists. I have yet to be disappointed with my cut/style. Kristina, Vicky and Angela have all been excellent. Following my last visit, I was overcharged by a new staff member at the front desk. They went out of their way with numerous phone calls to advise me of the error, apologize and arrange for an adjustment in the method of my preference. Thank you DBK salon for the exemplary service all around!

I booked an appointment at DBK salon on a whim because of its proximity to my workplace. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience there. Although they had to push my time slot a little bit they made every effort to make sure that my hair was done on time and that I was able to leave for my event. Hassan was my main stylist and he took great care of my hair and really paid attention to detail. When he noticed that it was taking longer than anticipated to blow dry my hair he had another stylist come and assist. That really impressed me and I would come back to DBK Salon anytime!

I decided to go get my hair cut/styled before a wedding I was heading to, and brought a picture of the style I wanted. The stylist spent 10 min speaking with me about my hair, the style in the picture, and getting in the same page - which was a blunt cut, textured, styled with loose curls from the top with straightened ends. After the cut, stylist then continued to style my hair straight and curled just the ends. Not only was this the exact opposite of the style we had discussed, but it made it impossible to assess the blunt cut and texture. I asked her to start the curls higher, again bringing her attention to the picture, and she insisted that this was a better style. I tried a second time but she wasn't having it so I just needed to get out of there! It was almost like she didn't know how to style it so she was doing what she felt comfortable with. If that wasn't all, when she was reaching behind the mirror to get something off the shelf, she knocked all this equipment off which fell onto the side table, knocking my glasses to the ground. I noticed only on the drive home that a piece of my glasses had chipped off! So now I need to get new glasses AND I ended up just straightening out the half-done curls. There is really nothing positive here! Good luck!!

I have been going to the DBK Salon for about 7 years. I noticed from the first visit that a client is treated as an individual. The stylist listens to your concerns every time you return for another cut. The staff are warm, but not obsequious. When you arrive you are taken within minutes, you are greeted, your coat is hung up and you are offered a coffee (before Co-vid). Viri pays attention to detail, is very knowledgeable and listens to her customers needs, while still being able to give her professional advice so that you can make an informed decision about your hair. She's over all the best stylist I have had. Both my husband and I are very particular about our hair and after our first experience with Viri, we were very happy to become returning customers. We have gone to many salons and stylists in the past and she has been the only one that has been able to meet our hair care needs. Premium Products When you spend a lot of money on your hair, especially if it's coloured, you want to make sure that you use good products to maintain it. I absolutely love that the salon uses premium products like Kerastase and Loreal during my servicet. You can even buy full size shampoo and conditioner from the salon. I recommend to speak with your stylist first so they can better recommend products for your hair. The Salon The salon is well located. It's close to two highways, DVP and 401, and even if I'm coming from downtown, the drive is not bad. There is plenty of free parking, which is always a bonus. I appreciate that they offer coffee, tea, cappuccino and water to their clients. They also have personalized coffee cups which are super cute. Front Desk Customer Service: I've had only good experiences with Siobhan when I call to book my appointments and pay. She's pretty friendly and helpful. However, there is another girl that works there at the front desk, that could work on her customer service skills. Recommendations: There is sometimes a disconnect between the people booking the appointments on the phone and the service I am supposed to get. This is because the people who are booking the appointments are not stylists. For example, I went in for a hair cut and colour and I later found out that the person who booked my appointment did not add time for toning my hair. I recommend the salon create a decision pathway for the front desk to use for booking appointments. This is to help remind staff to add time for essential services such as toning, when hair is getting coloured, adding additional time if the hair is long or short, etc... If the salon is already doing this, then it needs to be reinforced and worked on. I also highly recommend that if the front desk staff is going to help manage stylists' time, or if they need to have a discussion with the stylist, that it be done away from the client and not in front while my head is in the sink. This is to avoid exposing clients to potential conflicts which is very unpleasant and creates a very bad culture in the company. This happened during my last appointment and I was not impressed by how the front desk handled it. For a company to be successful, it is essential that everyone plays their part in building company culture, through team work, excellent communication and delivering exceptional customer service. I am still giving full 5 stars because this was the first incident and the overall quality of service I have had going to DBK York Mills has been good! I am confident that it will continue to improve!

I have SUPER curly hair and it took me a long time to learn how to love it. I after going through many stylists I found Candy at DBK. Since then, I have been coming to this salon for years!! I honestly don't let any other stylist touch my hair. The salon is super professional, they take your coat, offer coffee/tea/etc. During the summer they will have a number of students doing internships with their salon, which I think is great. I've also never been disappointed with not being able to get a booking. I have booked in advance and on very short notice (I booked at 8:45pm on Tuesday for an 11am on Wednesday) and always been able to find an appointment that worked for me.

Great experience! When you come in, they take your coat and offer you a coffee or tea. I came in to get a drastic change, from long layered hair to an asymmetrical pixie cut. My stylist, Angela was amazing. She described the whole process of what she was going to do and made helpful suggestions. I went here for the first time, a month back. I had read good things about the salon on Google and was not disappointed at all. I decided to go for a balayage and cut. I was getting a cut almost after a year...6 months of which were due to the COVID lockdown measures. I was a little worried about going to a salon now but their sanitary/safety measures made me feel very comfortable. They maintain proper physical distancing, enforce mask indoors and check temperature as well. I had a colour consultation with Frank first; he was very attentive and patient as we discussed what services I would need based on my hair quality and colour. The balayage was done by both Frank and Faiza and I was very happy with the results. The colour came out exactly how I wanted ( though I only mentioned a vague “caramel chestnut” ????). Faiza was very attentive throughout the whole 2 hours the colouring process took. The layered haircut was done by Faiza and was very nice. I felt like the layers have not come out as I expected them to. I waited a couple of weeks to see if it looks better once the hair grows a little but it did not. I mentioned this to Faiza and she was an absolute darling about it. She booked another appointment and offered to fix it and she did! She added a lot more layers and I love my hair right now! My husband also got a haircut from Faiza and he’s also very happy. His dense, curly hair is very difficult to cut and style, so it speaks volumes that he’s so happy with Faiza’s work. I would highly recommend this salon and Faiza’s the best!

I went to DBK for my first haircut in 6 months after the COVID lockdown. This place is just so, so, so well run. I was a bit anxious about the close contact but they are just mindful of everything: very fast temperature check, hand santiser, mask on and you're up. It was about 30 seconds until I was in my chair for my appointment. I highly recommend using their website to book--lots of slots available and they call you the morning of your appointment. As for the haircut, just perfect. I'm used to mostly barbershops where you can basically only ask for Small, Medium, or Large type haircut, lol. Faiza was so thoughtful and asked lots of questions and was friendly and generous with answering my inane questions--I'm going for something longer now and didn't really know about adding length without it starting to look shabby. Prices are very good too. I'm from NY where there is literally only $15 barbershop cuts or $100 salon cuts--this place is the perfect happy medium for quality and attention and good value.

I recently went to DBK salon. The York Mills location. I booked totally last minute, was 20 minutes late (I called) and had a mess of quarantine hair. It was at least three shades of blonde, split ends for days and I did the most annoying thing, by asking my colourist, not only to fix my crazy hair, but, could you also match it to hair extensions?!! She carefully explained what she needed to do to achieve what I wanted, detailed the cost and threw in a hair treatment to help with my damaged hair. When I say Masha is unbelievably talented, it’s no lie. Not only did she create the most stunning colour, it perfectly matches my extensions. She was professional, didn’t complain when it took her 3 hours just to foil my hair and kept her over an hour past the end of her shift. She brought in a junior stylist to do this high lift on my roots ( who was lovely and I’m horrible for forgetting her name) and she arranged for the uber talented Danh to cut my hair. Five hours later I left the salon with the most beautiful cut and colour I’ve ever had and let me tell you, I’m a picky girl when it comes to my hair. A two year lockdown, being the only exception in my hair journey. Everyone I dealt with at DBK was amazing. Professional, but, very warm and friendly. Amazing atmosphere and Masha and Danh are stuck with me for life!! Thank you so much for this gorgeous hair❤️❤️

I just moved to the neighbourhood and I need a hair dresser. My old hair dresser is about 2 hrs away. I had an important function to attend and needed my hair done. Not all hair stylist can do black hair they say they can but they can’t. I walked in to make an appointment for Saturday and I was greeted with open arms by the receptionist and Romina. On Saturday my appointment was at 3pm with Romina. I really love that I did not have to wait and we got started right away. WOW!! Words can’t really explain how Romina did my hair, that girl has magical hand. I did a wash, treatment, a blow-dry and style she knows what to do and how to do it. Not only that I felt at home we talked and laugh and I think what would have made it even more perfect if we had wine and cheese. I went to my function and I got so many compliments. Romina thank you so much for doing my hair and making me look and feel beautiful, my experience at DBK Salon was fantastic and amazing!! I am very happy I do not have to travel 2 hrs to get me hair done because I found my new hair salon and my new hair stylist Romina. It is not easy to find someone who can do your hair the way you want it to be. Super Happy Thank you!

I have been a fairly regular customer at the DBK Lawrence location. Stylists there are amazing and staff is very professional. The York Mills location is a whole different story. Being on their waitlist post-covid, I got a call from them during a work day. I booked an appointment over the phone for the next day but then realized it doesn't work for me (my bad). 5 minutes after booking, I called back to reschedule. No one answered and no one responded to my 2 voicemails I left over the next 2 days. On the day of appointment, I got a call asking why I didn't show up for my appointment. I book another appointment for the following week. I show up 5 minutes before time. I let them know that I am there and patiently wait outside for 15 minutes. I watch as they take other clients in who came in after me. I peeked inside to ask how long I will need to wait. The receptionist was dealing with someone else and ignored me for a few minutes. She then asked me for my last name and if I have an appointment. This means that she hadn't even checked before when I first showed up. She takes me to my station where I wait for another 10 minutes not knowing what''s going on. Finally, when my stylist arrived, I told her I don't think I can stay for another hour for the cut. She takes me to the manager. I told him that they really need to respect people's time and told him that he could have at least notified me if it was taking longer than normal. Was there a reason why such discrimination? He rudely says "Are you the person who booked with us last week and didn't show up? We are not discriminating in anyway but due to covid we don't have all our staff." I said "thank you" and left. Not going back to DBK. Sorry guys, very disappointed. Thanks for ruining my day and wasting 1 hour of my precious time.

I've been going to DBK for 5 years now. I moved downtown 3 years ago and still make the trek up. I would not go anywhere else! Excellent service every single time. The atmosphere is both warm and professional. My stylist, Viry, has always done an incredible job and is so honest with me. She really makes me feel welcomed and beautiful in her chair! Last visit, I went full platinum blonde (I have dirty blonde hair and normally get highlights/balyage done). My hair is STUNNING, and just as soft (if not softer) than when I first walked in. She gave me a lot of info about hair care and the process of dying my hair as I am doing a first-time colour next week. My wife was a regular customer here, but she brought our 6 year old son and 3 year old daughter for haircuts (trims). They charged $40ea, because they stylists were "senior" and "elite". This is even more puzzling because my son had his haircut at the Lawrence Ave location for $20 a month earlier. Receptionist/ Assistant Manager was condescending and rude when discussing this with my wife, and even the manager would only offer a credit in the end. Apparently "their customers" know and accept their policy. I'm not sure who feels they need to pay $40 to have their kids haircut, but we definitely will not be going back.

She is not only the kindest person ever, but she is also so extremely attentive to each and every single one of your needs, regardless of what they are. I like to support local businesses but I had a particularly bad experience with this salon. I booked an balayage appointment online, received a confirmation text, and responded with a confirmation code but my appointment was cancelled (unbeknownst to me at the time). The receptionist I checked-in with didn’t realize my appointment was cancelled until after I waited a good 30 minutes in a stylist’s chair. Apparently if you’re a first time customer like me, online bookings are not valid without a credit card pre-existing on file. The receptionist offered a complimentary colour consultation that I can use for my next appointment. Needless to say, I won’t be returning. I hope DBK takes my feedback to improve their booking process so that other new clients don’t have to go through the same experience.

Had a bad experience at this place. Did not get offered any water or tea/coffee, and it was a really hot day. Nonetheless, my hairdresser Victoria could not accomplish what I wanted. In addition, she agreed on a price before we started but I ended up getting charged an extra $70 from added treatments I was not aware nor consented to! So frustrating. Victoria also ignored my request to add a little bit of heat for the bleaching process, which was necessary since my hair takes longer to react to bleach. Now my hair is yellow but was still charged for toner? Overall, the place is unprofessional and unreliable. Will not be coming back.

I recently went there to get a cut and colour. First time ever going here. My stylist Mahsa, she was great! She was so patient (I have long, thick, curly hair) and the process took about 3 hours, she worked with me on the colour and had some suggestions herself, it was a great experience. She was kind and absolutely professional. She was very knowledgeable about colour and processes. I would highly recommend to anyone going and seeing her. She makes the whole experience and time there worth it. Never once did I feel rushed or there was not much attention to detail. Thanks to her suggestion my colour came out incredible, I've gotten already so many compliments on my hair. The COVID protocols are in place but they offer you water while you wait and it's a comfortable environment. Would go back again and would recommend Mahsa to any new or continuing customers. First time I went it was great. Colour and cut were great. So I went back. Second time the same stylist completely ruined my hair. Gave me the worst cut. My hair is literally shorter on the left than the right side of my head (not by design). After sitting there and talking about all the things I wanted and the things I didn't like, she did the exact thing I didn't want. I've been having to wear clip in extensions to give the illusion of even hair. When I called to ask her about it and why she did the exact opposite of what we talked about she said "my bad" and that was that. Never going back! Update: The people at DBK reached out to me and offered to help me to feel good about my hair again. I'm a reasonable person and miscommunications/errors happen. That's life. I understand the government has implemented new closures - Starting Monday, November 23rd - but to hang a sign in the window (before closure) stating "TEMPORARILY CLOSED UNIL TUESDAY" - which is when they should be in lockdown and closed - and not calling or emailing clients they were closing PRIOR to mandatory lockdown is completely unprofessional, rude and a huge waste of everyones time. You had the time to type up and print out a sign - you could have easily called, copy and pasted and email or sent a general email to your clients letting them know that anyone that had appointments on the weekend were being rescheduled and that you were shutting down. I sat outside for 15 minutes at 9am and watched at least 3 other people walk up to the door for their appointment, get upset, pull out their cell phones, and leave. If I could give this salon negative stars I would. This is not how you treat customers. Period. I truly understand these are hard and evolving times - but your job as a business that provides to the general public is to inform clients when you will not be able to provide the services on the date and time you have agreed upon.

Faiza did a perfect job on my hair yesterday! She chose a shampoo and conditioner based on my specific needs, and offered great advice for my hair-related concerns. The kind receptionist warned me the tip percentage would include the products I bought. Faiza deserved it so I didn't mind, but I really appreciated the heads up! I work in the service industry, so I can easily tell the difference between being treated as a welcomed guest vs. a paying customer. Keep up the amazing work and thanks again so much! My reason for the low rating is that the salon doesn't publish pricing or go over it with you in advance. I specifically mentioned how I wanted to keep the cost low so I booked for a 'highlight refresh' (was told this was a lot cheaper), cut and toner. The price was pretty much inline with what I have paid for a partial, toner and cut. I asked why so much and was told that the stylist had to put more foils and a treatment for breakage. I think I should have been told about this and verified if I wanted to incur this extra cost. I would have booked for a partial highlight and cut knowing there was no cost savings. I am happy with my cut and stylist but this is a pet peeve of mine with salons and I would think posting the pricing or discussing in advance is an easy solution.

Danh is a very professional hairdresser who consulted me about my expectations for the haircut and hair colouring. The staff is always warm and friendly while remaining professional. I asked for a bright blonde balayage and she did exactly what I asked for. She was also careful to keep my hair healthy. The salon director also checked in and helped her out with my foils a few times. I spent a very long day today at the salon. I came in wanting to go from years of root touch up and highlights . I felt I needed to go every 3- 4 weeks because my hair grows fast. More often than not I never really loved my blond highlights to help camouflage the grey. I discussed with my stylist what I wanted to do. Go back to my natural colour. Because of the Covid virus I had not been to the hair salon in over 4 months and felt this was the perfect opportunity to change it up. The owner Frank and my stylist Viry were absolutely amazing! We consulted the process which is most extensive. The attention to detail was fabulous and I feel I have come out of the salon a new person. I am 68 years of age and have very blue eyes so I also thought I could get away with the grey. Maybe it ages me but I am young in spirit and in relatively good physical condition. The service here is order full. I think I had almost every stylist here today helping either with the foils or washing my hair.

I had a terrible experience at this location. The stylist was very inexperienced and completely ruined my hair. Its 3 different colors and not at all what I went in for. I am very disappointed. I should have never had my hair bleached by someone inexperienced. Lesson learned. I paid over $400 to be disappointed with my hair and feel less beautiful then when I went in. I will not be back

Faiza at DBK York Mills is an incredible stylist. I am a former Fiorio client, who went to DBK after becoming unsatisfied with the cuts I was getting. Faiza patiently explained I’d have to patiently grow out a whole bunch of layers in my hair, haphazard layers that were taking away from the overall style I wanted. Once the layers grew out, I could get the cut I wanted. She then gave me an interim dry cut, which is what I wanted, and weeks later, this cut keeps evolving into a style I love. I can’t wait to head back to her for the cut I actually want and I know I’ll be blown away by her wizardry!

Wonderful salon! Had only ever had my hair done by my grandfather who was a stylist prior to going to DBK! Only place I trust to get the colour and cut I want! Candy is a wizard with colour, she's been dying my hair for 4+ years always gets it perfect!
