My mom went here to get her hair dyed and instead of dying it and making it look natural, they put the dye all over her ears, neck and sideburns. Like very black dye. It hasn’t come off and we’ve tried everything. I dye my moms hair better than this. Really disappointed since we’ve been coming here for years. When we did call back and say nothings coming off, she seemed to have no remorse. The haircuts are fine but beware of the horrible dye job.

They fit me in last minute and had me in and out quickly. My hair feels amazing and looks great, I have thin hair and it's a struggle to find a stylist that can make it do more than just lie there, the team is professional and the location is perfect, very central and easy to get to. Love them and will go back!!

I got a haircut and hair straightening at Helena Hair Salon because of the positive reviews. I have done hair straightening for years and I am so disappointed by the services I received from her. So, I decided to leave a real feedback for who wants to make a decision and I wish there was one for me at the time I read the reviews. 1- Misleading: By giving a wrong service price over the phone for a short hair size above the chin, she started blaming on my hair easy condition: • Over the phone price: $25 hair cut and $150+ hair straightening(depends on size) = $175 • Total charge: $35 hair cut and $200 hair straightening=$235 2- Unprofessional and weak performance in hair straightening: She talked to her colleague over and over in other language all the time about my hair but me! She just said that they will working and consulting together on my hair!!! I didn't realize what was going on and it was very stressful 4 hours.... 3- Avoid a clear answer: When I asked directly for hair straightening products brand name and quality, she only equivocated by saying: "It is a good one" and turned the label from the mirror away. I should have made it clear before let her start :(( 4- Unwanted hair style: I can say perhaps she is more of men’s hairstyles. I wanted a simple Bob haircut but end up with a complexed one. Definitely Not happy but it is manageable... 5- Hair damaging: I take the risk and do the hair straightening willing to wash it, let it dry and go but, as you will see in the pictures, after wash it’s still very messy and so dry which needs blow-drying and oil applying for sure. In conclusion, I paid $240 and spend 4 hours to have some unknown and potentially dangerous chemical products applied to my hair to make it messy and dry and Not Straight, additional to a wrong hair style. What a heck!…. I found this to be a waste of money and time!

I received poor service at Helena salon in North Vancouver. Recently I had a haircut with Jenny and I asked her to cut my hair to elbow length with layers - based on a photo that I showed her. She started cutting at the back of my hair and once she got around to the front, I realized that it was much too short - shoulder length. I told Jenny it was too short, but Helena, the owner, just tried to convince me that it looked good. There was no apology and no offer to reimburse. Do NOT risk having your hair cut here!

Every time I visit Vancouver I try to get a haircut here. Every one has been perfect. I am very picky and it's difficult to find a stylist who will do a simple clean cut well, but both the stylists I've had here approach it as a work of art, and do it really fast, too! Outrageously inexpensive for the quality. Please give them a try.
