Upon entering the salon, I was welcomed warmly by Mika (despite getting her name wrong) and was promptly introduced to Yanu as well as Yoko. The salon was well-designed - inspired by Japanese elements - and it smelled light and fresh which made me feel immediately relaxed. Upon sitting on the salon chair I had my scalp assessment, with thorough explanation as to its current condition and the corresponding treatment it would need. Each product that was used was explained in detail before and after the treatment - so should you decide to buy the product, you know what its benefits would be. The treatment in itself was pure bliss - from the hair brushing, shampooing, scalp massage - each was done with precision and care that I found myself lulled to sleep. I would definitely be a returning customer and cannot wait for my mum and my sister to try it as well.

I was looking for a totally relaxing spa experience that was a bit different, and this is it. For me, the best part of getting my hair done is the scalp massage, and this was 90 minutes of that. Amazing! Very thorough consultation, lots of good take home info, and I'm really happy with the products I bought to take home. The space is relaxing and quiet, smells devine, and is easy to find. Mika started off my reviewing my scalp and provided her recommendations for the treatment. I was extremely impressed with her knowledge and professionalism! She walked me through each product and explained what it’s used for. The scalp treatment was so relaxing and the results to my oily scalp was resolved! The spa itself was clean and spacious. Mika and the staff are so amazing. I first went for the Head Spa treatment and became hooked. It simply feels unbelievable. So relaxing, thorough and enlightening (seeing your scalp magnified at that level is crazy!). The second time I went I did both the Head Spa and a much needed haircut. I have very curly hair and it is next to impossible to find someone who know what they are doing and more importantly, listens to what you want and don't want. I Would highly recommend this lovely gem of a place. Mika was so welcoming and lovely. She made me feel so comfortable and was very knowledgeable about hair and the scalp. One of the best parts of a trip to the hair salon is the short 5 minute head massage you receive when they wash your hair. Head spa is an extended treatment, cleansing and massage experience thats catered to your scalps health. Our scalp is like a garden. And It needs care and attention to be happy so that hair can grow strong and healthy. I learned that at Yokos. After my treatment Mika sent me an email detailing the whole experience. It was Complete with the scalp analysis pictures, information regarding what we’d discussed, and the recommended products and everyday to dos for my scalp/hair care. So wonderful and an extra caring step: I left feeling very taken care of. I also loved the line of scalp/ hair products. A bit expensive ... but for the quality its worth It. I can feel the difference in my hair for sure. Being a gal who has been bleaching her hair blonde for a few years, I went to Yokos because my scalp needed a fresh start from all the chemical damage id put it through. Yokos gave that to me and more. I have learned so much. And my scalp and hair feel great. I loved it and I will definitely be back. Thank you again!

Upon arrival, covid protocols all followed and the salon is very neat, clean and relaxing. Mika is knowledgeable and takes the time to educate about products and science behind it. She was thoughtful to ask for a photo to assess cut against face structure prior to the appt to minimize mask removal. She gave me options that were well thought out based on hair type, and face shape. The result? I love my cut. Highly recommend.

This was my first Japanese head spa experience, and I will definitely be a return customer. Not only was it a very relaxing experience, but also an educational and eye-opening experience. Mika taught us what a proper scalp and hair care routine looks like for continued health going forward, and I learned that a number of assumptions I made about my scalp were completely wrong! It has lead to me changing the shampoos that I use (Threw my Dove shampoo in the garbage the minute I got home!) and completely rethinking about how to properly care for my hair and treat hair loss. They aren't pushy with the products they carry, but explain why each product is used in your spa experience, and what to look for in good products. Thanks for the wonderful time!

What a wonderfully relaxing and educational experience! I can’t rate the Signature Japanese Headspa highly enough. Mika and Shelby were so kind and helpful. Mika explained all about my scalp and hair type, why she was using which products, what I’d been doing wrong in the past and what to do going forward. And I don’t know how much total time was spent massaging everything from my scalp to my legs as I floated off for a significant amount of time! You must try this ritual!

I went for the 90 minute headspa and hair shaping with Mika and it was a delight. The studio space is bright and calm, and both Mika and Ella made me feel right at home. They both clearly put a lot of care and effort into the work. The scalp analysis was very educational, satisfyingly gross (you get to see your follicles and roots before and after, in all their glory), and eye opening, and the shaping consultation was nothing like I’ve ever experienced before. Mika is truly listening and designing options with your feedback in mind. The spa was very relaxing and my scalp feels pounds lighter. I’m also very happy with my cut and look forward to my next visit! If you’re looking for expert hair and scalp care along with some zen and renewal - I highly recommend this place :)

It was such an indulgence getting the Signature Japanese Head Spa scalp treatment. Although the focus was placed on renewing my scalp health and condition, the full body experience and relaxation is not to be ignored either. I received a Japanese head spa experience with Mika, which includes an in-depth analysis of my scalp and hair health. Yoko's is the experience of a lifetime. As someone who's favourite part of a haircut is the head massage, their scalp treatment really appealed to me. I wasn't disappointed! From the initial greeting, all the way through the treatment, I was pampered like a queen. My favourite experience was being wrapped in a cozy blanket, with warming pads under my legs, while they did their magic to my scalp. My first experience for scalp treatment. I googled as "Japanese scalp massage" and this salon popped up. I made a phone call for an appt right away and a lady was very friendly. (I didn't know that was Mika at this point.) Mika explained me the processes, and between the explanations, she asked me couple of times if I had any questions. Nice massages on my shoulders/neck/calves/arms/hands on cozy chair during the treatment. They use a microscopi to show me my scalp and before/after... BIG DIFFERENCE. My scalp after the treatment looked super clean and no clogged pores. I am very satisfied by this treatment, and I'll difenately go back. Highly recommended :)

Came here for the head spa. Mika and her staff was extremely polite, hospitable and amazing. They explained the whole process very thoroughly and made sure I knew what was going on. As for the treatment itself, I could literally see the effects even without any special magnifying tools or anything, my hair was significantly lighter and cleaner. Mika explains the products she uses quite well, but not in the sense that she wants to sell them to you, but because she wants you to understand how they work. Going to Mika was the best decision I made for my scalp and hair. Before going to her, my hair was always so oily, even right after showering, and my scalp was so itchy that I found myself scratching my head throughout the day for relief. The head spa treatment is amazing! I went because I adore scalp massages and I wasn’t disappointed, but they also made my scalp so clean and flakes-free. I’m also loving the products I picked out.

Name: Deb chen Five star experience at Yoko’s : Two weekends ago I had my first Head Spa experience at @yokoscoiffure In North Vancouver by Lonsdale Quay. Started with an initial consultation, a hair and scalp analysis followed with a series of detox/cleansing treatment using the French line Renee Furterer products. I have been researching a lot on this since the beginning of 2019 and so glad to know we have this service available here in Vancouver! The overall experience was very relaxing and felt rejuvenated afterwards; it was much needed as the past month during the change in seasons I have encounter issues with my maintenance routine: by talking to many of my female friends, I found out it’s quite common we tend to focus so much on our facial skin care and at times forgotten our hair and scalp is tied together. Products were recommended and it is at your own discretion whether you wish to make the purchases (I did for items which I think I will use). Follow up email received two days later include the recap of the analysis (before and after scalp images included ) and instructions for product usage. It was very nice to meet you Mika-san finally and thank you again for your attentiveness.

I have just had the most beautiful experience of hair spa ever (« Hair Spa » is totally appropriate for the place btw) I had the 90 minute scalp treatment and it was an absolutely divine experience (tea, snacks and massage include !) The experience is a true gift to yourself and your scalp. For anyone who wants to get rid of irritation, scalp flakes or hair loss, and wants to revive hair growth I highly recommend it!

Visited to see if the scalp treatment offered could help with some pretty chronic head scratching I contend with. The treatment itself was very relaxing and through this, I got some excellent advice on caring for my scalp. I appreciated the follow up afterwards and I will say that a few days later, following the advice I received, my scalp feels more comfortable and my discomfort has decreased significantly. Time will tell how this lasts over the long term but overall, I was very pleased with the treatment and service I received. Will definitely try again to help maintain.

I have been to many hairstylists in my lifetime, in various countries, and I have never found a hairstylist as good as Mika. Not only did she really assess my face shape, my body shape, but she also considered my style, the amount of effort I was willing to put in for maintenance, and the look I was hoping for as well. I typically grow out my hair to donate and it is always lifeless, limp, heavy, and flat. I was so happy with the style and cut that Mika gave me. Even my Mom commented on Mika’s technique and how much she likes my new hairstyle. I would highly recommend a visit to Mika and leave yourself in her extremely capable hands. Ella was wonderful and attentive as well. I fell asleep when she washed my hair! She was always on top of sweeping as well to ensure that my 3 years worth of hair didn’t get into the tea or snacks that I was offered. Now, some people may find the services a bit pricey, but honestly, it was worth it for me to finally find a hairstylist who was able to give me a hairstyle that complimented my appearance. I am definitely not going to another stylist ever again!
