Sumi G is amazing. I have tried multiple times to get my hair a certain blonde and have been going to the same salon for 20 years. I decided to try a new salon and came across Tony Shamas. Not only was Sumi able to achieve exactly what i was looking for, i also have had minimal breakage and my hair is healthier than it has ever been. I visit the salon weekly because i am so impressed with their ability to give you your desired look. I highly recommend Tony Shamas. The staff is friendly, professional and very accommodating. Pricing in line with my other salon and expertise is top notch!

Tony and Ivan have an incredible business and it comes down to understanding what customers really want. I have been going there now for a few years and wouldn't go anywhere else. I wanted to go a full white blonde to match the new set of extensions i bought. I brought in the hair with me to show the stylist the colour I was looking for. We talked about how she was going to achieve the colour I wanted and started on the process. When I left the salon I was unsure about my hair. It was only when I returned home I realized how grey my hair was a the top and the bottom was a brassy orange. I clipped in my extensions and realized the colour I had was no where near what I had asked for. When I returned to the salon I explained my concerns. The receptionist at the front desk was very sympathetic and booked me in with a different stylists for the following week. Once I got home I received a phone call from the owner, Tony, who told me that I shouldn't come for the appoitment to fix my hair because there is nothing more they could do and it would just damage my hair further. He offered next to no resolution and was talking over me on the phone. The conversation continued when I passed the phone to my boyfriend because I was so upset. Tony barely let him speak, also talking over him the whole time. Tony told us on the website it says NO REFUNDS therefore he wouldn't even give back the $350+ I was charged. I was going to return to the salon for the appoitment where I was supposed to discuss my options to fix my hair but I had a real lack of confidence in this salon that I would leave anywhere near happy. Above all I am disappointed that I paid so much for a service that was so under delivered. I have attached photos as proof (1) the first photo shows the colour of my hair after the service with the hair extensions next to my hair. You can see that the colour is not even close to what I asked for. My hair is actually darker since I went in the salon. (2) The second shows my roots where the colour is greyish/purple and orange. (3) The third photo shows the orange patchy colours I have coming through at my root and stripes. Not only was it not the colour not why I wanted but it was done poorly.

5 stars!! The salon is so gorgeous, and the staff are so kind and talented! Sumi was the one who did my hair. When I called the salon the guy asked me what I would and how my hair is (super curly). He told me Sumi was available at the time I wanted, and it would turn out beautifully and I can work with her about what I would like done. I booked an appointment yesterday and when I got there I showed Sumi some images of blonde highlights I liked. Sumi then showed me some photos on the iPad and together we decided on a colour and style that would suit my skin colour and my curly hair. She explained me she would do a style called Balayagé, and Sumi always explained all the steps she was doing as she did them. She always guided me through and what products she used that I could buy at the shop after or even what I have at home that I can use too. When my hair was done it turned out so beautiful. The salon staff kept giving me lattés, candies and an energy bar. They really care about customers and it shows. They all have so much knowledge. Sumi and the gentleman who booked me helped me pick our products so I can maintain my new colour at home. SO happy! Thanks everyone xx

This is how a professional high quality beauty salon should look like. Alyssa dyed my hair and I had great results . She is super polite friendly and smart! She will carefully listen and will executive what you want. Tony also is a gentleman and he makes everyone feel respected and welcomed. Their priced are not low so be aware but at the end you receive high quality work. I will go back for sure.

Today was the first time I have ever been to To Shamas. I wanted to try it out, and I was so pleasantly surprised at how great my experience was. I had asked for Balayage, and I was so happy when it was complete. The quality was perfect, and the staff and hair stylists are so nice too. Prices were great, and definitely worth you money! This place ROCKS! Key reasons as to why it's an amazing salon: 1. Great Salon: Ambience, Atmosphere, Style It's a corner location that has great lighting as the glass windows allow a lot of the sun to come in, giving the clients a really good eye on the colour transformations and cut. The salon is tastefully done with a bit of edginess, modernity, suave and warmth. It's definitely high end with the price and style but without the cold pretentiousness of some other salons that I have been to before. 2. Friendly, Welcoming, Warm Professionals You're warmly welcomed with a great smile and an endless top-up of refreshments such as warm teas, cucumber or lemon-infused water. Professionals give you great advice and tips, while listening carefully to you. They aim to please but they are also truthful when certain things are not advisable to be done as they care about the health of your hair and looks. 3. Excellent Balayage, Ombre and Colouring Choices and Techniques They have a wall in the colouring area that shows a plethora of colour and products. The techniques they use are highly professional and up-to-date. I was observant to the fact that every single client that sat with me at the same time, all left their chairs with wide smiles, beaming and practically glowing with luminescent balyage, highlights or ombre! Their picture gallery does not lie. 4. Amber Ashem: She's one of the master stylists (2nd to Tony - who is the owner). She's stunning, warm-hearted and loves a good conversation and laugh. She is easy going and listened to what I want while giving me professional advice and guidance. She eased me into cutting shorter ( a long bob ) and I absolutely love it. She gave me a blunt "lob" ( long bob ) while giving me slight textured layers at the back to add volume to the crown. My long bob actually swings with the right amount of angle and weight. With the technique / way that she cut it, I can wear it straight or wavy and "bed head" style which is fantastic. Although young and with only 6 years experience, I can tell that she has a perfectionist eye and really does care and aim to make you look fabulous! Definitely a keeper of a salon!

I just had my hair done by Alyssa Atkin. She gave my a balayage with low lights and took me from a brassy blonde to a gorgeous natural light brown/dark blonde. To finish she gaves me a light layered cut. Alyssa spared no expense to get me to the exact result I wanted and is extremely professional and talented. I have had my hair done so many times but none have compared to the result and service I received at Tony Shamas. The salon is warm and inviting with kind, attentive staff. I cannot recommend this salon more.

I get my hair cut 2/3x per year, and over the last 6 years I've never been impressed enough with a haircut to go back to the same place twice - I went to Tony's and had my hair cut by Amber, and I will 100% be returning. Amber listened to what I wanted to do and then recommended slight modifications that would help me achieve the look I was going for but would make it work for my specific hair texture/length.

I decided to try the salon as I often pass by it on my way home. Leticia coloured and cut my hair and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. The staff were really nice, friendly and unpretentious. They constantly checked on me (offered snacks and beverages). Optional additional services/ products were explained that I was happy to accept (a bit pricey but oh well!!!)Over all the experience and the final product was well worth the price. Thank you Letitia and Tony Shamas team for making my Friday night more glamorous than I ever expected.

I showed an inspiration picture and my last satisfied haircut and color to Tony, which I hoped he could reproduce (because between my last satisfied haircut and Tony, my last temp hairstylist screwed it up.) Tony was not only able to reproduce it, but also made it even better and pointed out exactly how my last hairstylist screwed up! He also actually cared about my hair health! Told me that I don’t at all need to bleach my hair to get the bright red I want for my partial highlight (my last hairstylist bleached it! Ugh), asked if I wanted to keep bleaching forever. Obviously I said no, so he didn’t bleach, got my hair coloured as bright as I wanted it to be, without any bleaching, and the virgin part (not bleached) still has the same bright red 2 months later! Needless to say, the bleach part faded quickly and I had to go back for a toner; but I’m really thankful that he’s got me out of the bleaching hole.

Wow. First time at Tony Shamas today....just stepped out of the salon and had to take a moment and post a very positive review. I came in with 3 months of regrowth, split ends, and overprocessed hair. Clarissa listened to all my concerns, made great suggestions, came up with a plan and away we went. I emerged an icy blonde, having shed all my dead ends. During my treatment and processing times, staff was circulating to ask if I wanted drinks, as well as protein bars. As a first time and potential new long term client, I was so happy with the end result. I'll be booking Clarissa for more magic 6-8 weeks from now. Their hours of operation are generous, they have an online booking system that works and they carry a large selection of top tier brands to maintain your hair (They carry ORIBE!!!!!).

This place does the best blonde highlights in Toronto! After some consideration and research and after seeing all their photos on Instagram for highlights, I've decided to book an appointment with Tony for the colour part and with Amber for the haircut. It was the best combo for my hair. I've been highlighting my hair for years but my former hairstylist moved to the States so I was in need of a good place to trust, and I'm glad I came across this one. Everybody is very friendly and nice, I was offered tea, snacks and beverages. They are very attentive and they make sure you are always comfortable. Tony took some time consulting with me prior starting applying the highlights and we clicked right away, the colour turned out great. He made suggestions and gave me advices so did Amber which was very lovely and extremely attentive and made sure to ask what I really wanted and also with what I was comfortable with, she gave me lots of tips on how to style my hair for everyday life and for the days I want to indulge a little more. Everything was also painless at the checkout since I spent less then what I usually was paying for full highlights, haircut and style. Next time I know I can definitely splurge on their luxury treatments (I've heard a lady there saying that she loved the one for damage hair and they felt so soft after: I want to try it now). That night I went then to meet with some friends at a bar and I received lots of compliments on my hair. Definitely recommended.

This past Saturday was my first time at Tony Shamas. I had been referred to Letecia and booked an appointment for that following Thursday, however since I had a free afternoon I called to see if there were any cancellations. The male on the phone at reception told me Amber was available. I asked if she was senior as my referral ranting and raved about Letecia so I wanted to ensure I would be receiving the same caliber of stylist otherwise I would have just waited until my appointment Thursday. He assured me Amber was great. Amber met me at the front reception where she was standing. She washed my hair, asked me what I had wanted which was to just cut off my dead ends and add some face framing layers. As soon as Amber started cutting it was evident she was not a senior or intermediate stylist based on the level of comfort with the scissors alone. She was not comfortable and seemed awkward. She cut one side asked me how I like it (it's wet I couldn't tell) and proceeded to the next side. She went in a few times to even the cut which was then taking off more inches. Once she started blow drying I was very disappointed. The face framing layers were choppy, they looked uneven and messy. I told her my concern and she asked if I would like another stylist to come take a look. Tina came to fix it. She was great and wished I would have seen her from the beginning. I think it's important for Tony Shamas to hire a certain caliber and level of expertise to keep their name reputable. The salon was nice, the other stylists seemed very professional and because of my experience with one stylist it unfortunately reflects badly on the salon. When my hair grows back i'd be open to seeing who I was referred to. I don't believe I should have been charged the $85 plus tax for the hair cut given my experience and level of expertise or lack there of from the stylist. I would recommend those who want to try the salon to ensure they are going to someone who has been referred or a friend that has personally had an experience with the stylist you are going to.

Was a disappointment. The salon is very well run and Tony is very hard working. Nice ambiance, great snacks. But my hair isn't what I wanted. Highlights I got were not close enough together and the colour is off. I'm a hard core white blonde person and my highlights / toner are golden. Also, there's a general dullness to the colour. I always get L'oreal so I don't think it's the product. Also, pricing is a bit misleading. Highlights are comparable in price to other salons but a toner and blow dry were not included. Once those were added on the price, it's no longer competitive with other salons.

One of my favourite salons, Amber is a true gem, and she knows exactly what she is doing. She gave me exactly the highlights I had asked for. Could not have been happier. The keratin treatment is really good too, but I mainly like to go for my highlights! Would definitely reccomend.

Today was my first hair appointment at Tony Shamas Hair & Laser. I cannot thank hairstylist magician Tina, enough for the excellent service she has provided. Not only is she down to earth and easy to talk too. She was able guide me into choosing the type of hair colour I wanted from several pictures I’ve been looking at and feeling unsure of my choice. Her energy and results gave me the biggest self-esteem boost I definitely needed during this time. I highly recommend Tina!! If you’re looking to get out of your comfort zone, and allow a true artist have fun, she is your girl ! I am absolutely coming back to her for further hair colour styles. I am lucky to have found her and finally end my search for a hairstylist, which I’m sure people can relate, it can be hard to find. My best friend were there. She does not speak very well English-Toronto is multicultural not an anticultural place- and they threatened her because they do not know how to work professionally. This is the second visit I have made to Tony Shamas Hair Salon. I had an appointment with Maureen both times and yesterday she did highlights and a cut. Jodi did my blow dry and straightening (and some more cutting afterwards). Both women are amazing and really understand curly hair. Jodi spent a great deal of time making sure the cut was perfect - she gave me a lot of great tips and information on how to keep my crazy hair tamed! I would recommend both women 100%. The service is excellent and the support staff are also fantastic! I have finally found a place I am willing to use again and again!!!!!

I'll give them 100 stars if I could. Absolutely loved my experience here. Went to get a balayage, and Sumi did a wonderful job!Had such a fantastic 2.5 hours there. Every couple of minutes someone will be checking if there's anything you need.. I was offered coffee, latte, protein bar(?), and even wine! I stuck with water - but the gesture was oh-so-amazing! Have I mentioned the beautiful space (and the washing station)? Spa-like ambience! I also had the olaplex treatment, and I even got a little head massage which was wonderful Very friendly staff, and I truly enjoyed the chats with the owners! Will definitely be coming back!

Oh. My. God. ❤️ I went there today, in what was more like a fluke, scared as hell and came out 3h later HAPPY, the happiest I have been with my hair in 8 years! I wanted to cry tears of happiness and I'm not exaggerating. I have found out about the salon a couple of days ago when I decided I really needed a haircut (haven't had one in over 1.5y), I have read almost all the reviews (the good and the bad) and at 3pm today I booked an appointment for 4pm with Clarissa (it was the only availability for today, I didn't know anybody so had to go with somebody, right?). She was sweet, calm, patient, listened to me and just gave me a good feeling overall. She didn't push me to talk throughout the process, as some do, but was extremely talkative and responsive if I wanted to. She appreciates the personal space of the client and that's another thing I loved; big plus and thumb up. Now, I am sure I wasn't 100% clear, I was confused and scared but I showed her what I wanted, she asked more questions on top of that and the result is FANTASTIC. I feel young, pretty, beautiful and I simply love the job she did. I don't know how else to put it. She did a balayage, haircut and blow-dry and it was perfect. I felt like a kid around the Christmas tree, I wanted to jump all over. She was understanding, I told her it's hard to trust young people, especially after horrible experiences with both older and younger stylists. But damn..this girl is amazing and after watching the other stylists around me, so is everybody else, patient, taking their time and detail oriented. The service was great, the little touches, the coffee, the welcoming vibe, the music, the lights. I mean, even without the coffee or the attention I've received, I'd still come back to her, but everything else added to the great experience I have had. The place is beautiful, soft, nice and has elegant touches; it is cozy and welcoming and I love the big windows making the space extremely open and beautiful. I'd recommend it to anyone. I haven't been so happy with my hair in so long, I feel I was reborn! I'll go to Clarissa again in a heartbeat, with trust and confidence because she just became my stylist!! Loved the entire experience from the first second to the last. I'll take my daughter to her as well when time comes. She's only 3y and 7m old, but she's never had a haircut; she has beautiful long hair but I always said I need to make sure the person I take her to for the first haircut and not only won't ruin her hair. And I found that person! ❤️

A classy boutique hair salon that has a very good vibe from the minute you walk in. You will not be processed here like the big salons where you are moved from person to person. I had a botched home colour and was in desperate need of a good cut. I was able to get in right away and Tony took care of me. It felt good to completely trust him knowing I was going to leave looking nothing less than fantastic. His team were so warm making my stay completely comfortable from the cucumber water, to the home made cappuccino and even offering a protein bar pick up. You can't help but return a smile to their hospitality it felt like your at your best friends home. I've never had such an amazing cut now ending my search to find the right stylist without paying outrageous prices. I had not seen a lot of comments from men at this salon but I can tell you to look no further gentelmen. It's classy fellas without the ruffles you don't need. Excellent service with old fashioned but never out of style European hospitality that appreciates your business.

I absolutely love this place! I've started coming here for laser treatments after my best friend join for a package for underarms and loved it. So I decided to give it a try myself and not only now I found my favourite place to get laser done and been pampered like at a Spa but I also got my highlights done here and I literally got stopped a couple of times already on the street from people asking me where I got them done. Girl if you want to look good this is the place. Usually mornings are less busy and it's easier to get an appointment than in the evening. Anyway, I recommend this gem!

I went here to get my hair done for the start of the school year. I talked on the phone with a couple hairdressers, went in for a consultation, and showed multiple reference pictures. I ended up paying around $350 for a trim and some highlights. I asked for root shadowing, toning, a face-framing haircut, and oil treatment. I wanted something more dramatic. What I got was nice, but it wasn't what I wanted. I left the salon feeling upset for how much I spent. Right after I got my hair done, no-one noticed. I had to tell people I had it done. I ended up redoing my hair myself a month later (for $16 and I did a better job).

Sumi really makes you feel comfortable. I was so nervous to dye my hair but I needed a change. Went in for a consultation a week before, Sumi told me what i could and could not do with my jet black hair. Going into the appointment, they have a comfortable colouring station and frequent offers of beverages and protein bars (Ivan is so nice, he even got me an extension chord when I needed to charge my phone so i could use during appointment). An amazing experience for anyone, and walked out with a balayage that I am comfortable with. Walked out with the price they quoted my at the consultation.

I never went to this salon, but I noticed that one customer gave the salon bad review because she did not expect her service to not include toner and blow dry. If you go to a new Salon, wouldn't you want to at least visit their site and do some research? On the site in the pricing chart, it states specifically what is included and not included in a color service. It is there written out for those people who have a hard time estimating the price of the service. I am just saying. People, when you rate a salon, rate it on the quality of service and results, and even then the results are never what you expect from a photograph. Your hair has different undertones, texture and volume and it reacts differently to chemical treatments. These people are not magicians. There are some magicians in Toronto, but then they will charge and arm and a leg for the service, up to $400. I think considering, the salon has standard prices for an upscale downtown salon. Again, just saying.

As amazing as the service was, the experience wasnt. I went in wanting a lighter hair color, I was very clear about it, like my natural hair and I ended up with darker hair. To anyone who doesnt believe it, I took pictures. The hair stylist didnt want to admit it, and saw I was upset but still let me leave and pay for something I absolutely did not want. I got home and the first reactions of my friends were: Is your hair darker, I thought you wanted to go back to natural? And now I cant go back, I would have to bleach my hair. I told her there was one thing I didnt want, and thats the thing I ended up with. I dont know how that can even happen. I really thought they would at least ask to fix it, or tell me they were sorry. Nothing. They were in a hurry and didnt have time to deal with it. So I paid and left. There was a lack of respect and the decency would have been to not make me pay or to try to fix it, or set up another appointment... or at least say sorry.

I had a good experience at the salon and my hair turned out to be ok but when I booked my appointment, the price for the option I chose (balyage, cute and blow dry) was $270 and they charged me $307 which I am good with but before I made my payment of $307, they also charged me another $50 deposit to save my appointment. They never returned me the $50 deposit so I paid $357 which was not I was expecting. When I emailed them about it, they didn't respond and I tried calling too ut they didn't pick up.

Let me first say, I am not one to go out my way to defame anyone. But it would be unjustified if I did not warn others about the worse haircut Ive ever had... by the owner no less, Tony Shamas himself! To be fair, the ambience of the establishment great and staff were very nice, but the hair cut i received and reluctantly paid for (giving the benefit of the doubt that once i got my own hands in there it could look....ok?) was terrible. It took another haircut, (which was close to impossible at that point because there was no hair left) to look like i just finished basic training. If you need your hair done, go somewhere else. but if you have to, by no means make an appointment with Tony! Just because he spends 8 hours a day in a salon, every day, and for god knows how many years, doesnt mean he learned anything about cutting hair.

I have been getting my hair done for 15 years at different salons, when I read the reviews for this salon I got excited and made the worst appointment ever. Made an appointment a week before for 11:30 on a Saturday (the day of my anniversary) Tony Shamas shows up at 12:10, he made me wait 40 minutes, and says sorry in an unapologetic way, and by the way the salon sends you 3 reminders of your appointment Tony takes me to a seat and says "I can't do your hair" as if my hair was made out of something different. I asked what can you do and he says nothing It was humiliating as all the girls around me could hear and see what what's happening, and they all saw me waiting for almost an hour and NO ONE approached me and said "Tony is running a little late" I left but I couldn't believe what just had happen to me, never in my life have a I received such poor service The good reviews he was getting got to his head and he feels like he is doing you a favour for his service I have really nice hair and I get full blonde highlights every 2 to 3 months - this place was cheaper then the place I usually go that's the only reason I wanted to give it a try but what a big mistake that was

I booked blonde highlights with a senior stylist, who had to cancel last minute. I was then referred to Tony for blonde hightlights, after reviewing the gallery pictures I felt confident in getting my blonde hightlights here. Unfortunatley I left the salon with yellow and orange brassy hair ( I have pictures) my highlights looked like something from the 80's like I had strips not even blended well. 3 different colors in my hair and the sad part is that Tony didnt even take the time to look at my hair before I left the salon. I called back the salon about this and they told me to come back, but I was so disappointed and scared they would not correct it properly that I went to another salon to get it fixed.

I was recommended to this hair salon by a work colleague of my best friend, that she always has the best blonde highlights and her hair always looks amazing. I was hesitant at first as I didn’t know whom to go to. She explained me that over the course of two years going there she had seen different stylists and everyone always had been meeting her expectations. I called and book an appointment, the gentlement over the phone asked me a few questions since it was my first visit, to see whom best would fit my hair needs. Since my main concern was to be as blonde as possible, he recommended Sumi or Tony for the colour and Tina for my haircut. I trusted him. I’m glad I did! Just a few blocks from the salon going home after my appointment, people stopped me to ask where I got my hair done. This is a different kind of hair salon, I have never seen one so beautiful in Toronto. My friend has been going to Tony for years and my hairdresser decided to move to BC, so I decided to give it a try. Now, months later I have been four times already for different type of services, I had twice the same girl and other times a different hair stylist. My formula was on file so it was easy for the other stylists to replicate. They also have ipads for you to read magazine on while your hair colour is being processed. Specially useful when I get my blonde highlights done as it takes a little longer than when I just colour my roots. The hair washing room, a treat!

I had the worst experience with this place!!!! my mom went to this salon for hair highlights and she didn't even see tony once, he had no observation on his staff. after one wash of her hair, her highlights went orange. she called them and told the receptionist that she has a complain about the color and that she wasn't satisfied at all, she even mentioned that she expected tony to have supervision on his employees and she preferes to come there on the day that tony was available. but the receptionist was very rude and he hung up the phone suddenly and when my mom called them again he threatened and verbally assaulted her!!!!! please don't ever go to this salon!!!! they are very rude people and wont take any responsibility for their mistakes!

The atmosphere in this place is energetic, organized and warm. The team of hairstylists make sure you are pampered from the minute you walk in, until you leave. Blonde highlights, Balayage and hair colours seem to be the things they focused on as they are very busy with these services. I came in on a snowy Tuesday afternoon and I was greeted with a smile and offered all kind of beverages. My hairstylist, Leticia, took her time understanding exactly what I wanted as end results with my hair. I showed her a few pictures and she recommended which one will be the closest results according to my hair type. She was very patient and pleasant even in small talk and conversation. I enjoyed my Olaplex treatment while relaxing in the separate room when she washed my hair. Tianna then finished my styling and suggested what product to use with my hair type, without been pushy to buy anything (I actually asked at the front desk when leaving which product I should bring home since it worked wonders with my hair). I booked a consultation with the laser technician to come another day as she was booked up on that day. Overall I felt very comfortable getting my hair done at this place, and I also got a protein bar from them as I was about to order food from ubereats and they offered snacks while I was getting my hair done.

Still can’t get over how they botched my hair the last time around… and this was after Amber used clarifying shampoo to take away the uneven tones .. so just imagine how much worse this was. The most disappointing part is that I’ve always had wonderful experiences with Amber so I booked again with her as I only trust her to handle my hair, yet they allowed an assistant to dye my hair… while I still paid Senior stylist fees. None of this made sense and broke my trust completely. The salon shouldn’t be double booking clients if they can’t keep to their promises. I would have rather waited on Amber to handle my hair with care like she always does… and instead I got this. I was very disappointed. That being said Amber is a true talent - it’s the salon that botched this by double booking her with two clients so she has to choose between the two of us… and I got the short end of the stick.

Sumi knows her stuff I was disappointed in my hair being the stubborn type and for me to get what I want it will take a few steps to preserve my hair. I had an appointment with Sumi for the complete package - balayage, cut and style. This was my second time at Tony Shamas (I had a blow dry + style done once with Alex) which was amazing and she recommended Sumi who is a senior stylist to do my balayage + cut. First things first - My hair turned out AMAZING. Sumi was very thorough, honest and skilled - She did a complete consultation with me before we started anything - we looked at pictures, did comparisons on what my base color was and how it would ultimately look etc. Sumi was very reassuring and confident that we would achieve my 'goal look'. After a couple hours of her free hand hair painting, processing and toning, we headed to the chair for my cut. She advised on what would look the best on my med-long hair length and I'm so glad I took her recommendation... it turned out perfect! Perfect beach waves with subtle golden blond throughout. I've already had so many compliments from friends and family and will be referring her to others from now on. So happy with the service at Tony Shamas, highly recommended!

This salon completely DESTROYED MY HAIR! I went to Amber for a period of time to relax (smooth) the roots of my long, beautiful low back length hair. After going to her my hair started BREAKING OFF WITH ONLY INCHES OF HAIR LEFT where the relaxer was applied. This had never happened to me before. I had been to other salons for this service with no issue. When I first called to book the appointment, I was told I didn’t separately book a blow dry and the service could be applied and I’d leave the salon with wet hair - huge red flag and precursor to bad relaxer application nightmares that would come. I shouldn’t have proceeded. However, I was new in town and opted to rebook. The first time I went, the relaxer was left on far too long and my hair started breaking. I asked another stylist who suspected the relaxer was left on too long. I mentioned it to her when I again- she told me she didn’t know why it was happening. She applied it again 4 months later, again left it too long despite me saying the timer went off and my hair was so destroyed from the bad relaxer. Parts of my head only had 2 INCHES OF HAIR LEFT. I had low back length hair that was DESTROYED. I saw another stylist elsewhere who confirmed the bad relaxer did this to my hair. It’s been 3 years and my hair has finally grown back past my shoulders. Never go here if you have textured or curly hair!!!

I had my highlights done here after meeting one of the hairdresser in vacation in Mexico, believe or not. After some time, when I got back I was in need of a new hairdresser and I remember speaking to the girl while on vacation. When I called I was able to locate her and book an appointment with her. I’m glad I listened to my instincts and got my highlights done and haircut with her. It was a bit over the usual price I was paying at my old place but well worth it. Also, their responsiveness to covid was very efficient and I felt at ease at all times I was in the salon.

Absolutely love this place. Is now my to go to hair salon. I started to come here after my sister got her balayage last year with Sumi, it was absolutely stunning! I am always been a brunette but decided to go lighter and lighter. The first time I got my blonde highlights done with Amber and she was absolutely great in explaining how long will I have to wait until I go fully blonde and all the implications of maintaing the highlights in order for my hair to be healthy. I absolutely loved it, the second time I went with Tina as Amber was away and she absolutely made my blondness in me came out! Do yourself a favor, go here, you won’t regret it.

I went in on a Wednesday morning after booking an appointment the week before. I was recommended to Sumi but she wasn’t available on that day so I went in with Tina. She did a great job on my haircut and also she didn’t pressure me to buy products, but I was intrigued by one leave in she used styling my hair. I asked her about it and she was kind enough to explain me in detail how to use it. Also, I didn’t feel like I had to have any kind of forced conversation. She was meticulous and took care of my hair without many bla bla blas that lots of stylists usually do. I will go back next week taking my mom to her and I’ll consult also on my long awaited balayage.

I started going to this hair salon for my laser hair removal treatments as I moved from out of Toronto this year and was looking for a new place where to finally start laser hair removal. My friend has been doing it for a couple of years and recommended them. I started doing only my underarms because at first I was afraid of laser, since I have never done it before. After only a few successful sessions with Karissa - that is really genuine and professional - I went all the way and started sessions on legs as well. I am now totally obsessed with laser and want to do all my body, so easy! I also got my hair colour done here, my friend was getting blonde highlights with Tony, but I was looking for more of a balayage look and so I booked with Sumi: she is now my new favourite hair stylist that I can trust! I really love this place, the people and the atmosphere. Everybody is so inviting and nice. It is a no brainer, I highly recommend it.

I went for a consultation to change from brown to blonde and they told me they want my hair to be healthy and no damage so I trusted them. I set an appointment and spent more than $500 for double highlights. I went their with 18inches if hair and I left with 10 maybe 11 inches of hair. All my hair was broken, burned, dry, orange and awful. Before the stylist started to do my hair I told her to please start the highlights with the middle of my hair and do it in two shots, not one shot, but she said “trust me your hair won’t be damaged” . I was there for 5 hours and as I waited for the process to finish I just imaged that at the end I would be sitting in front of the mirror and see my hair healthy, blonde and the same length as before. But after I saw my hair in the mirror, it was super dry and super short and I just wanted to cry. I didnt say anything in the salon because I was so angry and didn’t want to fight because I knew that fighting won’t change anything and I had already lost a lot of my hair. So I’m now back home and I don’t want to see my self in the mirror because I hate my hair. I regret going there and spending my time, health, and wasting my money. I’m writing this down so at least this won’t happen to anybody else and I don’t want this feeling that I have to repeat for another person because it’s an awful feeling. ????????

The service, the kindness but straightforward attitude towards expectations during consultation, the fresh orchids, the staff that helps you with just about anything. Very unhappy experience with the salon. The services and environment are quite comfortable, but what upsets me is the hidden fees. I booked an appt for a service around $150. As I was doing the treatment, I was never informed which part was included and which was not. There was zero explanation! Turned out, my bill was almost $300! Almost double of my booked service! Isn’t this a scam!?

5 Star Service is what you receive from Tony Shamas and his staff every time you visit. I started going to Tony for highlights 1 year ago based on excellent reviews and I have been thrilled with the service every time. I actually drive 40 minutes across town to get my hair done because nobody has ever lightened my hair this naturally so I get compliments all the time. Alanna greets you when you arrive and makes you feel as welcome as if you were visiting friends. Delicious coffee is served and all of the current mags are available on iPads throughout the salon. Tony is always professional, thorough, and honest. He will tell you what works and what doesn't for your hair. He has high standards which he has passed on to all of his staff and it shows.

Thank you Tina for the best blonde Balayage I ever had!! I am so happy with my hair, I have been struggling finding a hair salon in Toronto and I finally found it. Tina gave me exactly the hair colour I wanted and explained in my previous consultation it might take a couple of appointments to achieve what I showed her in my reference picture. Luckily enough for me it was perfect already in my first visit! And everyone is so nice there, they even gave me protein bars and beverages throughout my stay. Just went in for balayage, wash and style and olaplex. It was my first visit at the salon with Sumi. She was very attentive and she knows her stuff. With any new hair salon I was skeptical at first and unsure. And for that reason after I got my hair done I wasn't too sure about the color. Trust me I'm not an easy customer to please but I'm loving my hair color and cut right now. Sumi did everything as I asked and gave me a gorgeous color and cut afterwards. Tina does my hair and it is amazing every time. I always get my colour, blonde highlights and haircuts with her. What amazes me is that even as it grows out it still looks good and I still get compliments on it; which is a true testament to her work. I have been going to her for three years now and everytime I still am amazed by her talent. She always talks you threw the steps that she will take in order to get you to your desired look. I’ve started going to this hair salon in downtown about 3 years ago for my blonde highlights. At my building at work, I was crossing path every now and then with this girl that always has the most gorgeous blonde hair. Until one day I was brave enough to ask her where she got her highlights done. She said she had been seeing Tony for the past 10 years and he sister and cousin were all going to the same place. I always had the best time when visiting the salon. The staff is friendly, Tony is funny and always gives me the best highlights. How much I - and I’m sure many other people - are missing him and the stuff during these crazy times. Can’t wait to be able to go visit the salon. For me he’s the best, however, a couple of times he wasn’t available when on vacation or not available, and the receptionist recommended I saw Amber instead, as they had all formulas on file and she could take care of me.
