However, Alyssa is by far my favourite stylist there! I have seen her for many visits including for trimming my bangs (after bad experiences elsewhere, I only trust her!). Recently she has stuck with me when I asked her to cut my extremely long hair to above shoulder length and also colour my hair dark brown. I can’t recommend her enough!

I've been seeing Jude for the last 7 years - any place she is cutting hair, I am going. She is creative, on-trend, and honest. At this point, I just let her do whatever she thinks will be cool - we've done pixies, k-pop bowl cuts, shaved sides, mullets, bright colours, shags, and so much more to come! Each time the haircut is AMAZING and the thing is that it isn't just amazing the first day but Jude really thinks about how it will grow out, so I am looking good for months after the cut as well. I also want to note that for those with thicker hair or who have "asian texture" of hair, she does a great job really understanding we need. Just an amazing hairstylist (and person) all around, and always looking forward to seeing her!

Very disappointed in the management of short notice cancellations. I made an appointment for today at 9AM two weeks ago as I live out of town and had other commitments as well scheduled for today, so in the dumping rain and the heavy traffic I drove from Caulfield- West Vancouver to the salon to make my appointment on time. I find a parking space and then walk into the salon on time. The man at the front desk - had asked who I was and said that he was just calling me and was about the leave a voicemail to inform me that Sergio my chosen stylist was stuck in traffic and was not sure what time he would arrive at. I was given the option to wait however uncertain as to when he would be there, come back at 2PM or reschedule for another day. I had said I needed time as I have other things on , so thought about it and went back in and said I would wait for my stylist to arrive... However- the gentleman had said that " well I don't know when he will arrive, I wouldn't want you to wait( likely thinking this stylist likely has more clients after me and wouldn't want to have to call them and move them) , and then proceeded to offer me the appointment for later today or even over the next few days. I am so disappointed I feel I should have been informed sooner then 9AM when my appointment is at 9AM. And if I choose to wait it is because I realize that there is a possibility that it could be a longer period of time. I also feel I wasted kilometres, my time and gas to get to this appointment just to turn around and drive all the way back to Caulfield. So unless you don't mind short notice cancellations when it is raining out and there is traffic on the roads then this is the best place for you. If you are like myself and schedule appointments because you are seeking somewhere reliable then this is not the place..

I use to be a regular client of the Dye Lot and was satisfied at first. However, it seemed every time I went to book a follow-up appointment, the stylist I was seeing had left the salon? I can't comment on why they had such high rate of turnover, but it definitely didn't suit me well trying to find someone new to do my hair each time. The last time i visited the Dye Lot, I asked for natural looking highlights that were soft and thin. I also went on to the stylist about how attached I was to my long hair that I had. I did say it needed a little trim to be cleaned up, and mentioned how I only wanted at most an inch off. I left the salon that day with chunky highlights that did not blend well into me hairline, and hair that looked nearly 4 inches + shorter. Needless to say I was devastated. After calling in to ask to speak to the manager about my dissatisfaction, it took nearly 4 weeks to get a response. I was then offered $50 off my next visit. I went in to have a gloss put overtop of the chunky highlights, and when i tried to use the $50 credit, the person taking my money started saying how it was going to affect the commission of the lady who just did the service. If the first horrible experience didn't make me want to return, the embarrassment i felt for demanding the discount definitely did. Client communication should be the number one job of a stylist. If they are at all in doubt maybe they should ask!

She also took the time to point out what might not work so well, which I appreciate. I have lofty goals, but my styling ability is limited. The result was a haircut that is easy for me to manage (and style) and which gave a bit more volume to my fine hair. Also, she is the gentlest stylist I've ever been too. Hardly pulled a hair on my head! Definitely recommend her if you are in need of a trim!

Went in for a big chop and half head of highlights last week with new stylist Shelly. Shelly did an amazing job matching my colours and gave me the confidence to cut off about 8 inches of hair. My daughter had a haircut at The Dye Lot and had a great experience. For myself, I requested an appointment with a senior stylist that specialized in brunettes. I need a root touch-up on my medium brown hair and I had an appointment with Claudia. The result was the top 2/3 of my hair almost black, and my ends dark brown. I emailed the salon and they booked me another appointment with Claudia to fix it. Using a gentle colour remover my hair went from black to dark brown. I was very unhappy with the experience as my request was simply to get my roots done and the colour pulled through to the ends to "refresh" the colour as it had faded. Instead I have a whole new hair colour which is way too dark for me. I will now be having to spend a good amount of money on a colour correction at a different salon.

I am so happy with this salon. For a salon open for COVID, they take safety and cleanliness very seriously. I was so impressed with who the salon handles mask wearing, and COVID protocols. For my last experience, Mia is super professional hairstylist. I came in for a hair cut and coloring, and she treated me so well, checking in and making sure things were what I wanted. I had an appointment with Annaparsa for highlight, it only took 45 min! nothing changed in my hair and my hair got darker than before. Worse customer service that I have ever seen!!! I was really disappointed about her behavior and the way she talked to me. After I explained to her my hoodie also got several hair dye stains ,I was expecting a simple apology, but she blocked my contact number. Never recommend:(

Veronica saved my hair! I made an appointment with Veronica for a colour correction and cut, not expecting anyone to be able to fix my hair...and she worked magic! My hair had previously been bleach blonde and then during quarantine, I hadn't been able to maintain it and decided to cover it over with black dye. My hair looked terrible, scraggly and dry. Veronica made me feel so comfortable and she made the entire 7 hour colour correction process a breeze. She was able to pull all the black dye from my hair and left me with a beautiful (although short) caramel melted colour. My hair felt soft and healthy and looked amazing by the end of the service. Her prices were very reasonable and I can't wait to go back to see her for the follow up appointment this June. 5/5 would recommend.
