I was very skeptical on visiting as I have extremely curly and frizzy hair, and it seems not many hair dressers are able to work with my hair type 3b. I drove from Kingston Ontario for this appointment and was hoping I didn't waste my time and my money. My stylist was Mia. I was blown away. I couldn't believe their technique and her experience on working with my hair maintenance hair. I learned a lot about my hair and how to style it. It was an education for me she explained the hows and whys and solutions with me, I left very satisfied and thrilled by my experience. Roxana is amazing! It was the first time I cut my hair in a long time and my first time at this salon. Roxana was so kind and gave me the layers I looking for! She also took the time to ask me how I currently style my hair and which products I use then provided me with tips and suggested products that are better suited for my 3A/3B curl type. I've had 2 haircuts at Curl Ambassadors with Sophia and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I was specifically looking for a salon downtown near where I live and the Harbord Street location is perfect for me. I really like the cozy feel of the place and have had great customer service there. Sophia was easy to talk to about my initial Curly Doo. She did exactly what I wanted her to do, which was even out the shape. She showed me how to wash and dry my curls correctly. She showed me how to use a product I'd bought on my own in the past but wasn't using correctly and hadn't liked. Now I use that product all the time. I'm wearing my hair curly most of the time now, rather than straightened, which is great. My hair feels much healthier overall and I love my curls again. I only cut my hair twice a year and I intend to keep seeing Sophia. Thanks!

First time I was here, I was disappointed. I asked for nice oval, the usual with curly hair, what I got is straight cut at the bottom. Now this with no layers looks awful on curly hair. You’d think a hairdresser who is doing curly hair would know and avoid this. Anyway, I thought I didn’t explain well what I want. Second time I went, I made sure to explain in detail what I want. Unfortunately, the result is even more disappointing. I asked for a little cut to refresh the ends. I am literally missing inches on places. She tried to hide it with the styling, not allowing the hair to curl up too much, so it is less noticeable. On top of that when I made known that I do not like the cut, the girl got upset and started demonstrating attitude. Quyana, you can’t cut hair as required by your clients, and for sure should be more polite to the people who are giving you business. Don’t waist your money.

THIS IS AN UPDATE TO MY REVIEW: Because of my bad experience I was offered a free deep condition and style. Sydney did my hair and I was happy with how it turned out. I got it done on Sunday and lasted about 4 days before i did single braids and a head wrap for Friday. I think the cold weather is drying out my hair so a protective style was necessary. I did book myself another condition and style 6 months from now. I probably wont get them to cut my hair again still but its nice to have someone do my hair for once. Changed my review from 3 stars to 4 based on professionalism and my curls did look and feel nice.----------- A bit disappointed with the service here. I got my hair cut by the same girl who did my hair the past two times. For whatever reason she butchered my hair the third time to the point where I had to find time to go back and get them to fix it. I got it "fixed" by another stylist there but it wasn't actually fixed. My hair was very choppy and uneven on both sides to the point where I couldn't wear a pony tail without it looking ridiculous. In fairness I will say that they were nice about the situation. They gave me full reimbursement and a complimentary cut and style which I am not sure if i am going to use yet because it seems like my hair cant be handled. Even though my experience was bad shockingly the past two times they were professional in they're resolution which is why they get 3 stars. I have type 3 hair and thought I found a curly hair spot that I can rely on...now i'm not sure as I find them inconsistent. The hunt continues for now to find someone who can do my hair and me end up loving it...

I’m very disappointed in this visit to Curl Ambassadors in Vaughn. I had appointments for both myself as well as my daughter. Booked over a month ago, for the the same time and date, which happened to be my birthday. They had a stylist call in the night before and instead of calling or email to let me know and confirm rescheduling my appointment, they took it upon themselves. So after driving 2.5 hours from My house, which is no where near Vaughn, which they have on file btw. Only my daughter was able to get her hair done. Because they didn’t have the courtesy to call me and let me know. Not only did they pretty much ruin my birthday, but they also made me waste my time and money to drive all the way out there! They also did absolutely nothing to try and rectify the situation. Not even an apology.

They know what they're doing, they're friendly and I'm not in here longer than 90 minutes* (my hair is on the short side, so it doesn't take as much time). Where has this place been all my life?! I went for my first cut last week with Inna and OH MY GOD!!! My hair has been transformed from frizzy, dull, and flat into beautiful, voluptuous curls. I have gotten so many compliments since I had my hair cut and and coloured. The entire experience was awesome. Inna explained every detail to me and educated me on proper washing and styling techniques. Amazing! Can't wait for my next appointment!

I've gone to Curl Ambassadors twice now. The washing, drying and styling techniques they use are great however the ladies there either just do not listen to what you tell them you want or they lack the skills or experience to understand what your asking for amd give it to you. On my most recent visit I asked specifically for 1)The same general shape 2)No length to be taken away 3) The bulk to be taken away from the bottom so my hair would be less triangular and more oval 4) Some shorter pieces around the face to frame it. I did not get even 1 of the 4 things I asked for. The closest she got was to change my hair shape from a triangle to an inverted triangle which I hate. The worst part is the devastating amount of length she cut off. Any curly girls know how long it takes to grow your hair for length and I had been growing my hair for a year before my cut. I asked her very specifically TWICE to not cut any length off but she did anyways. I definitely won't be returning to the Vaughan location ever again.

I feel safe in the hands of stylists that have similar hair texture and curls because they understand the apprehensions, concerns and fears all curly hair folks have. I got a wonder baylage colour, and a shaping haircut. The end result was bouncy and popping curls. Plus, you will receive a "curly map" which outlines the products used and how to apply them to achieve the same effect. If your hair needs help, this is the place to go!

I took y daughter with 3C8, hair to get a cut and believe you me they don’t know how to cut curly hair. Even worse with COVID, you pay full price for a bad cut. My daughter looks like a clown and now I have to wait 9 months for it to grow????

BLEACHED MY SHIRT NO COMPENSATION BEWARE!!!! On Tuesday, I was at the Curl Ambassador getting highlights done by Nicole. While Nicole was washing my hair she told me to sit up with no towel and that’s when I felt the back of my shirt wet. The bleach in my hair soaked my shirt! After I was done at the salon, I went home and saw that the back of my shirt was bleached and ruined. Within minutes I called the salon but no one answered. I went back to the salon to show what the stylist had done and asked if they could compensate for the bleached shirt but the owners were very rude and refused. The salon offered a discount for my next hair appointment but how does that fix my bleached shirt? The next day I got an email from the owner ( In the pic below) stating that “it is best and better to part ways from all locations”. I’m utterly shocked by how I was treated at the salon, will definitely not go back!

This was my first time going to a curly salon and I was very pleased with my experience. However, this place is NOT cheap so think twice before you go, especially if you are a student. I had 1 inch cut off my hair and got more defined layers and ended up paying 120$ (with tax) !!! I really do not feel like the amount of work that went into my hair deserves that price and I know, it's a small business and all, but that is a lot of money for a simple haircut. They also apparently charge 1$ per minute spent detangling, which I'm not sure if that was the case with me since it wasn't written anywhere on my bill nor did the lady at the counter tell me when I was paying. Great place, great people, but I will not be coming back.

Had to wait a month as usual to be seen here, (it's a small location, limited chairs) but it was worth the wait. Especially since Sidney ended up being my stylist. She amazing, she listened to my every word and followed my directions, and guided me to good decisions with her expertise when I couldn't make up my mind. Very intuitive and best of all a perfectionist in her work, both qualities which are so in make her great in her chosen vocation. The woman’s does not quit until your 100% happy with you hair and she can tell when you’re just being nice. The Ambassadors have a gem with her and good on them for being the type of business that encourages colourist like her. She got a gift!

I had a great experience at this salon! Right from the get-go, Millie put me at ease by going through a comprehensive consultation. She is super friendly, and very generous with her passing on her product knowledge and styling skills. Every step of the way, she thoroughly explained what she was doing and why. Finally after reading a lot of reviews, asking people around and contemplating like forever, I chose The Curl Ambassadors to get first really short hair cut appointment. What can i say, from the friendliness of the staff, to the ambiance to a fantastic haircut it was all a wonderful experience. I was particularly concerned about the way my hair would be cut since i was getting them short and I am really happy with the hair cut I received. Nicole was assigned to me and I found her is extremely warm, comforting and patient. She took a lot of time in carefully cutting my hair, making sure its not left uneven and spending a good amount of time on diffusing my curls. I love brands when they go out of their way and follow up. I received a follow up email to check on my curls and if I had any questions. That is for me excellent customer service. This is going to be my go to place for a curly hair haircut!

This is my hair place of choice. I literally drive over 6 hours one way to go here. I've never had a bad cut. But the last time I was here I had a bad color:( it was so bad. I emailed but heard nothing back. Since I am not local I couldn't make the drive again in such a short time frame I ended up going somewhere else just to have the color fixed. My post-quarantine hair was a mess. Julie breathed life back into my curls! They look visibly healthier, and have held up for days since my appointment. The salon is taking social distancing seriously; everyone wears a mask, there were very few people in the salon, spaced well apart. Felt safe and comfortable. My experience with this salon has overall been great - I don't have trouble booking appointments, they get back to me in reasonable time, the staff are polite and pleasant, and Julie is the bomb dot com! My first appointment in this salon (with a different stylist) was a horror show, but the salon rectified the situation swiftly, Julie fixed the cut (and it got rave reviews wherever I went!), and I haven't had a problem since (which is to say, even if it doesn't go as well as hoped - and we're all particular about our hair! - at the end of the day it's a good experience!). Great customer service, great hairdressers. Already booked my next appointment!

My hair dresser was MiMi and she was fantastic! she was very knowledgeable about curly hair and my specific curl type as well. I went to the curl ambassadors for the first time yesterday and saw Roxana. Right off the bat, she was welcoming and it was clear that she was very knowledgeable. I paid with a groupon and was worried that I would get worse service because of that, but that did not happen at all! Roxana took the time to explain exactly what she thought would look good for my hair and why she thought so. On every other haircut I have ever gotten, I have expressed my hatred of my hair short but the hairstylists have always still cut it short. Roxana took my preferences in mind when she decided on the style of my haircut. While she was washing and styling, she made sure to show me exactly what she was doing and how I could do it myself at home. I am happy to say that I have never loved a haircut more than the one Roxana did for me. Instead of my usual hatred of my hair for months following a haircut, I am absolutely thrilled with my day two curls (I've never been able to get away with day two hair before this cut). Suffice it to say, I will be back to see Roxana! I also saw a few people mention in their reviews that the receptionists were standoffish and rude. I don't know if they interacted with different receptionists, but the two that were there when I went yesterday were very nice and welcoming!

I saw Nicole for my first appointment and she is the absolute best. She asked great questions about how I currently care for my curls and gave me some great advice for what to do in the future. I got my hair colored here for the first time back in April of 2019. And my experience was amazing, Roxanne colored my hair and it came out perfect ! This time I wanted to re color my hair a different color. I came twice to this location and I was basically told they couldn’t serve me because firstly due to the fact that I booked it online and incorrectly chose the correct option I needed. Which was understandable. I rebooked the appointment for the week following. Mind you I live in Scarborough and it takes me quite a long time to get this location. When I came they told me that they mistakenly booked me for the wrong day. At this point it was just frustrating and I am no longer coming to this establishment. They did not express any sympathy for my situation. I work 12 hour shifts and that was my only day off. I’m very disappointed and will never come here again.

Won't lie to you, I won't be going again. They did not cut my hair well at all and the colouring they did was not good and not to salon standards. They say they cut curly hair to frame your face, however they do not know how to cut properly and my hair now is EXTREMELY uneven on one side of my face versus the other. Also this was the first time I had ever gotten my hair coloured, the stylist didn't believe me up until she dyed it in which my hair follicles at the top of my head (weaker roots from other damage like flat iron) collected colour way better than my bottom, so I ended up having light brown at the top of my head and the rest completely dark. Truly a bunch of amateurs, go somewhere else and save your money.

For the record, I will not be stepping foot into the Curl Ambassador Vaughan location again! I have never experienced such careless efforts as customer. Especially from such a reputable company, that specializes in providing a service, to anyone with curly hair, and already having very limited options to where they can have their hair cared for by a professional. As a guy, it is almost unlikely I would be walking into a salon. But I have been referred time, and time again to go to CA.I have family who have been returning customers to the TORONTO location for years. After finally making it in, just to walk out completely ripped off, and totally unsatisfied. I had inquired about making an appointment, instead the was offered the chance to have a hair stylist take care of me on the spot. The salon wasn't busy at all just one other customer, and if there were appointments, then I shouldn't have been offered. I was looking for a clean up, and possibly a little shape. The stylist seemed like she knew what she was doing, she walked like top dung. She probably cut max 20 strands of hair around both ears and neck combined, followed by a chincey rinse in the sink, a lathering with leave in, and then tried baking me dry. I already can't stand more than a limited amount of product on my hair. After bathing me in leave in, I was ready to shave my head! All amazingly summed up with charging me full price for less than eighth of the service at $46. My wallet had a better rinse than my hair.

Went there for the first time last week for a wash and style. I love my curly hair but have struggled for years with finding the right product and how to style it. Caroline was awesome!!!! Spent the first 15 minutes just chatting about product/colour/ and how I personally feel about my hair. I left the salon with a gorgeous set of curls and instructions on how to manage my curly hair. I’ve been able to recreate the look (not perfect but close) and I now know how to use the product correctly. I’m excited to head back for my cut and colour! If you have curly hair....this is definitely the place for you. They know what they’re doing there and it feels so good to know you’re in good hands. There were even 2 men having their hair done while I was there. I hate to “breakup” with my current stylist but I think it’s time. ????

Really happy with my curly hair cut! I really appreciate that the stylist (Quyana) took the time to talk to me about my hair before cutting - we discussed what my concerns were and what I'd like to see. I also really appreciate that the cut is done dry - I think this makes all the difference for a good curly hair cut. At the previous salon I went to, the cut was always done wet; my hair would look great when straightened, but if I wore it curly, it just never sat right. They also have a really great policy where they follow up after the cut and will bring you back in for a quick fix if there's anything you're not happy with. Highly recommend!

Shanica at the Vaughan location worked as a team and was efficient and delivered great results. She kept my hair long as per request and made me feel comfortable enough to agree to long layers. After two haircuts from Julie I know I will be coming back for as long as I can <3 Yes it costs me about $100 for a cut and yes I need to book at least a month in advance. It is possible to get lucky and snag an earlier appointment if your schedule is flexible enough to pick up a last minute opening. It is all 100% worth it. I've been really happy with my cut every time and the staff is professional and friendly. During the first appointment they give you great written advice on how to care for and style your hair. The head massage I receive when she washes my hair is heavenly. It's a small place that really cares about their clients experience. :)

So I have wavy thick hair but it is NOT the type of hair you would apply a mixed chicks product to. My experience was terrible. I expected my hair to be cut once it was dry and set. No. She cut my hair while it was wet. At the end of the appointment my hair looked terrible. I told her I wanted more layers in my Hair so she picked up a pair of scissors ans just started randomly chopping a few pieces of my hair. She cut like 4 locks of hair and was like there, Is that good enough?. I knew it was time to get out. I told her I didn't like the mixed chicks product and she said she can't predict how my hair would react to it. Understandable BUT I would expect someone who knows curl types that my hair would never look good with that stuff. It is so greasy. As soon as I left the parking lot my hair just fell flat no waves no curls. It was a grease ball. It was so bad that when I got to work someone made a joke that I didn't wash my hair today. I put my hair in a bun and couldn't wait to go home and wash it. What a terrible experience. I actually still tipped because I guess she tried and I felt bad. I've never reviewed anything but I had such a terrible experience.

Went for the first time on Thursday and saw Francesca. She sat and asked my history, what I wanted, gave me suggestions and alternatives and truly listened to what I wanted. I've gotten tons of comments on both the trim, shape and colouring of my hair. I will be back and would highly recommend! My original review 6 months ago with Francesca was a 5 star I've since been back twice. The first in October they had only booked me in for a cut no colour, even though I come from 1.5 hrs away No way I didn't book both. Don't remember the girls name but she was rude and very rude Apparently Francesca doesn't work there anymore. I went again last month cause I believe in second chances. They won't get another from me. I don't know what this 3rd girl did but my hair has been steadily falling out en mass ever since. She put huge layers in, yuck, and now all my length is gone as it's fallen out!! If I could give 0 stars I would. Francesca still gets 5 but not the rest. Here's hoping I don't end up bald

The Curl Ambassadors have always done a remarkable job with my curls; my cut is nicely layered, and adds volume to my fine hair. What also sets them apart is how warm and friendly the stylists are. The last time I went in marked the first occasion that I got a hair cut during Covid, and I can assure you that their Covid safety precautions allayed any concerns I had. Also, the last two Curl Hair stylists I had, Angela and Julie, did an amazing job on my fine curls. Highly recommend this place!

Absolute worst customer service & products. Had to escalate an issue up to the owner (Caroline) and she was horrible to deal with. They care only about profits and refused to accept any returns. They openly sell and recommend products that are dangerous and have serious side effects. So much so the product used (Deva Curl) has several lawsuits against them in the US. Curl Ambassador openly uses and recommends/sells these products to their clients. When conformed about the side effects, they attempt to deflect the facts or out right ignore them. (Google it for yourself - don't take my word for it)

PAOLA did an INCREDIBLE job both cutting and styling my hair. My hair has never been so soft, bouncy and defined! The ambiance of the salon was very calm and welcoming, and my appointment started exactly on time. I felt very well taken care of and the salon did not have a rushed or chaotic atmosphere that many busy salons possess; it was a totally relaxed vibe. I love that the stylists include a complimentary consultation prior to the appointment, but more importantly I love that they actually listen. Paola understood my hair goals perfectly and even took the time for provide home care tips at the end of the treatment. Thank you for a great experience, I am looking forward to my next hair cut.

I bought a groupon for $25 for a wash and style. Knowing curl ambassador is a little pricy but they are the only salon I find can to handle my daughters hair so I thought that's a great deal!!!! I've been communicated back and forth via email to book and appointment for my daughter and also stated when they called to confirm I again advised this is for a child's hair cut. Me stating numerous times about my daughters appointment when we got to her appointment which this was her 3rd visit there she got a stylist name Lea. During the detangling before her wash I asked if there were at additional charges as I am using my groupon. The stylist said no. She even stated that the appointment was book for an adult and that a child's hair cut is cheaper. The groupon stated wash and style and I knew I would be paying for a trim as that's all my daughter needed. After all the trim washing, conditioner , and styling when time came to pay....... my bill was almost $100!! And they tried to claim that was $25 off which was my groupon. Second they said there was a $1.00 charge per minute to DETANGLE!!! (No wonder she took 3 hours) to do everything on my 11 year olds hair. I refused to pay that nonsense amount because for 1 I never once heard of this and it was our 3rd time there, she never once mentioned this when I asked in the beginnings if there were any additional charges. Then she called a person name Betty on the phone and she tried to explain to me that the $1.00 is stated in the email, which was not and I have my emails I show not once was this ever mention even there website doesn't mention any of this. She then took off that charge but still I had to pay a child's hair cut, wash, and style fee of $31.99. So I said that's pretty much I paid $57 because I already bought my groupon Which is suppose to be for a WASH and STYLE so I should've only paid for a trim. All in all I am very disappointed in this experience especially for my 11 year old. This is such a scam why offer a groupon if your just gonna still charge customers the same rate even if you didn't buy a groupon. Also they are not understanding. DO NOT BUY ANY GROUPON or go there! You might as well just pay your friend to detangle your hair and save more money. SCAM SCAM. I never write any reviews but this was beyond ridiculous and time consuming for my 11 year old to sit there for 3 hours because they tried to get $1 per minute in detangling.

Someone from the salon contacted me in July and let me know that Shawnita had left and that they could not change my appointment to another stylist. They did not offer me other appointment times, they offered to put me on a cancellation list despite having 4 months to accommodate my appointment. I let them know that a cancellation list didn’t work for me, as I work full time and don’t have open availability. I never heard back from the salon, no attempts were made to keep me as a client. I will never go back here, as it is obvious that my great experiences here were solely because of Shawnita.

IF YOU DONT VALUE A CUSTOMER THEN WHAT IS THE RANT ABOUT? I mean lol even till now I never heard back from them on the appointment. I feel even if you are busy you should acknowledge a customer and their time. My first experience with the curl Ambassador Vaughan was with Paula, it was very successful hands down the best hair treatment, style and much needed education, I walked out loving my hair, then the pandemic happened, and now I was very excited to get my second appointment which left me in tears as I left the salon, my husband was picking me up and I did not want him to look at me. I went in with a picture and wanting a shaggy hair cut, I was refused saying my hair is not long enough, (I have medium length below shoulders), I suffer from frizzy hair and asked what to do to get plump curls with no frizz I was told well you cant have plump curls if you want shaggy and a sarcastic laugh, she started cutting my hair , she barely cut the tips with no certain style, with her own admittance she said laughingly I cannot see any hair on the floor its all on my had, tried very hard to sell me products as soon as I sat down on the chair which made me feel very awkward and uncomfortable then when washing my hair she said I put treatment as your hair is damaged" my gift to you don't worry "again followed by a laugh which again made me feel that I have to buy the product, I felt patronized the whole time I was there, So I stopped asking or saying anything and kept very quiet the rest of the time in the end my hair looked HORRIBLE flat stuck to my head and she said she was done while yelling to her colleague that the next person is her client , I have never ever written a review good or bad, and it took me a week to decide to write it, what hurts the most is when finished I told her that I am very disappointed and that I liked my hair better when I first came in than what she did, she did not even apologize or even offered to fix it she just walked me toward the cash for me to pay...…THE WORST EXPERIENCE AND THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE HER NAME IS INNA !!!!

I visited the salon to get a cut and color. I found the cut wasn't really worth the $50 - she just made a few quick cuts and that part was over. The colouring was alright - I asked for partial highlights and it kind of came out like she dyed almost my entire head. I think what got me was the experience. My stylist was so friendly and amazing, giving me a lot of tips on how to style my hair. I haven't decided whether or not I'll be back, but if you're looking for a more drastic cut I do recommend.

Whilst travelling in Canada I was recommended this place by 2 different people. I made an appointment and was so impressed with their response and care. The day before they changed my appointment as the hairdresser had a family emergency. When this happened, they went above and beyond to squeeze me in. My cut was with Caroline. She took the time to listen to me and offered great advice. She took me through the process step by step explaining everything as she went and answering my questions. I was a little shocked when I saw how short it was ???? but after I got used to the length I was in love with my curls. The shape is just so so so much better. This was my first time getting a haircut for my curly hair after straightening my hair for over 15 years. Quyana was very understanding and walked me through the process while explaining styling and care methods. She gave me a cut that frames my face well and brings out the best in my naturally curly hair. I loved the styling of my hair, it was really stunning. My appointment was at 315, I arrived at 3 and sat in the chair at 4! So that was really rude from managment in my opinion. I also have a couple of comments on the person that cut my hair though. She is a really nice person, don't get me wrong, but I felt that she was inexperienced at all. As I was telling her about the products and brushes I used on my hair, she didn't know them. I'm not even a stylist or know anything about hair that much and I know more than her. She was really rough while detangling it, I was hurt a lot, while she was diffusing my hair she burnt me like 5 times, when she put me under that hair drying thing, she put it waaay too close to my scalp and it was literally on my forehead, hence I got burnt. I asked for my hair not to be cut too short, and she really cut it short although I repeatedly said before it being cut, that I didn't want it that short. Other than the styling, I would not recommend her to anyone to be honest. I am actually afraid to come back to you guys after my experience with her. I heard raving reviews about this place, thats why I trusted you guys and that I'll be in good hands, apparently not . My experience was not a good one, 3/10 over all. I don't think I will be coming back.

I'd been here once in December, before COVID shut everything down. The hairstylist did a decent job, despite completely ignoring the length that I wanted. I've spent months trying to book an appointment. I finally thought I had one secured when I ended up having to deal with medical issues. They wanted a confirmation within 24 hours. I wasn't able to give one because of what was happening with my health. They unscheduled me for that time, which I get, I didn't confirm back in time. However, when I emailed them back they offered me an appointment 2 weeks later at a time that didn't work. I emailed them back letting them know that it didn't and what am I sent in return? Whomever is responding to me, deciding to let me know that 4:30 pm is after 2 pm and offering me the same time spot! The last thing I need with my health stresses right now, is to be treated like this when I'm just trying to get a hair cut. If you value being treated with any respect, I recommend going elsewhere.

- Poor customer service when booking an appointment ( even before covid-19) - Never get to request your hair stylist unless you know them before their “great” reviews - No one smiles and looks stressed out - Found them four years ago and my first time was amazing but my hair stylist keeps leaving, and the front desk service keeps getting worse even though they’ve been trying to expand, I guess the salon cannot keep up with demand. - I have given up on trying to buy into their service.

This location specifically seems to have bad rep seeing from a couple of reviews, but that didn't stop me from booking an appointment. I was in desperate need for the maintenance of my wavy hair specifically. So I decided to check this place out and let me tell you... the results are phenomenal. I absolutely love my hair, completely satisfied. Once you enter the salon, it felt cozy and the staff that was there were polite, accommodating and kind. Booking the appointment was no hassle for me. The service was just great and made my money worth. I will be coming back again to this place to get my hair done. My hair stylist Shawnita was outstanding! She listened and took the time to understand what problems I have with my hair. She gave me great advice/tips on how to care for my hair. She's very knowledgeable of what she's doing. I had very long hair that was still pretty healthy near the ends, I came in to chop half my hair off and she continued to ask me if I still wanted to cut it short just incase I changed my mind to keep the length. She didn't cut it any shorter without asking for my consent until I was satisfied with the length she's given me. My hair has never looked healthy till now. Highly recommend a visit for all curly/wavy hair customers.

Stay away from Curl Ambassador‘s Vaughan they are not knowledgable they are very unprofessional my daughter went there today to have her roots highlighted for a touchup and they’ve completely ruined my daughters hair making her hair have yellow patches on it where they try to cover up afterwards to correct it with a brown died it does not even match my daughters hair the stylist that was highlighting my daughters hair asked the two managers for help they while they went back-and-forth whispering no one came over to help! But what they did do was make faces looking at the colour and walking away and whispering they were extremely unprofessional and have no clue on how to highlight hair especially the highlighted blonde they’ve ruined my daughters hair she has three tones of colour in her hair now with this brown red orangey tone all in her roots stay away from this hair salon before they ruin your hair too

This is my second visit to thecurlambassadors and I got a dry-cut curly technique done by the amazing Shanlea - she was so warm and friendly and considered everything that I was looking for on my cut. All of my concerns and questions were answered very patiently - thanks so much for being patient! Although I would have loved a diffused look I can understand the circumstances that for safety reasons it was avoided. THIS IS AN UPDATE TO MY REVIEW: Because of my previous bad experience I was offered a complementary cut. Nathalie did my hair and she really took her time. She fixed the shape and I am in love again with my hair. Took me a while to give them another chance, but it was worth it... So it's only right that I provide an updated review. -------- I just came back from my appointment at Curl ambassadors. I just moved to Toronto and before booking the appointment, I heavily researched natural hair salons. I tried another salon and didn't like the service, so I decided to try the Curl Ambassadors, based on the great reviews. Let me tell you that this is the worst experience I have had. I spent 3 and a half hours there and left crying, because "Mimi" cut all my hair. At the beginning of the appointment, I told her that I was there to have some shape and moisture because I have some dryness and hate the current shape. I insisted on the fact that I WANTED TO KEEP MY LENGTH. She immediately started cutting, I stopped her and asked what is the shape she intend on doing and she couldn't explain it to me. She kept saying: "you'll see, I'll give you some layers and you will like it". So she proceeded to cut my hair (dry cut), wash, have a treatment and I went under the dryer for about 40 min. When I finished, I immediately told her that I don't like the shape at all. The back is way longer than the front and I feel like she has cut too much. She told me that it's because my hair was still wet and she will use the diffuser. After that, I still hated the shape and she told me that she "will blend it nicely". Had I know that blending meant cutting chunks of my hair, I would've let. $140 later, I have lost have of the length of my hair.

Amazing hair salon! They specialize in curly hair exclusively. I wish I would have found them alot sooner. The ladies are all awesome but I believe my stylist was Francesca. I have recommended people and they have also had a great experience as well. They really listen to what you want. Bring pictures! Even if you feel the style you would like is unattainable, still show her and she can show you what you need to do to get somewhere close to that. For your initial consultation she tells you what your curl pattern is and shows you what products to use for your type. She never pressured me to buy their products. I came back for a cut and she cut exactly what I wanted off! I will definitely come here again!

I feel like this location has really gone down hill as of late. I booked an appointment (in June) for my daughter to get a wash and style for her graduation. We arrived for the appointment on time and waited..and waited..and waited. The stylist doing her hair showed up 1 hour late. Luckily, another gal working took pitty on my daughter and offered to squeeze her in. The stylist didn’t even acknowledge me or my daughter. Not an apology for being late..NOTHING. I was pissed, but it was my daughters graduation day and wanted her to enjoy herself on her big day. Tried going back this weekend as a second chance. Showed up for an appointment only to be told it was cancelled and i must not have received the email. Nobody was available to cut her hair and I’d have to rebook. I shall never return to this location. Too bad—we had a good run. But no more, I’ll have to find somewhere else.

Early september I came with my 4 year old daughter for her first haircut, she is mixed and has very curly coily hair. This was thee worst haircut I’ve seen. On the day of, it looked okay, even nice, but the next day, and the days following, you could see how she cut it very uneven, my daughter has one side shorter then the other and random long pieces. I can’t even have her hair out as normal or in a cute fro because it looks that bad. I have to always have it wet and soaked in product to have it all leveled. I would not recommend this place, or perhaps go with a stylist of ethnic background. This just proves to me, get a black girl to cut black girl hair.
