I have been going to this salon for years and its been a while since ive been back. This is the only place where Ive had the best color and cut, no one else knows how to do my long and thick hair like Kristina and Marco. I highly recommend them.

I was unfortunately late to my appointment as I don't live in the area and even though I left early enough to make my appointment I got off at the wrong exit. That being said this place has zero understanding to someone's situation. The attitude of the only worker in the salon which was very rude. The salon was dark and empty and he was acting as if he was just so busy. No real alternative was suggested. All he did was point out that I was late after I had already apologized for it. Anyways wasted over an hour driving there and back without getting anything done, so can't comment on the quality of the work just the poor customer service.

Wow asked for a Demi colour and got permanent.. I grew out my hair for 2 years to have freedom from colour and throw a Demi every now and again but their Demi colour is so strong now I have full demarcation line.. not cool also not cool that all I got was a I’m sorry ... I can’t tell you how upsetting this is to me.. I’m sorry I’m sorry I can’t take back 2 years of growing my hair out not to mention cutting it so short only to be back to where I was with roots and monthly trips to the salon.. I moved to Toronto over two and a half years ago and it was a challenge to find a hair stylist that could cut and style my hair the way I wanted. After a year of trying out new salons and some very bad experiences, I came across Dan Ethier and have been going back ever since. I even moved about a half hour away from the salon and still make the drive to see him. Dan is always very professional and takes the time to do things right. He is friendly and talkative and makes you feel welcome. I always leave feeling great and looking my best. If you need a change, I would certainly recommend Dan!

The Salon Salon M Squared always leaves me with an extra bounce in my step when I leave. From the welcoming smiles, the complimentary lattes to the modern yet comfortable decor, Salon M Squared hits all the right notes. The staff is timely, i.e. I've never had to wait for my turn when I arrived, and the salon is very clean. Dan Ethier - My Stylist Dan has been my stylist for a few years now and even though I moved further away from the salon (30-45 mins), I still make it a point to keep him as my stylist. His friendly demeanor combined with his undeniable skill to always make my hair look fantastic make it hard to go elsewhere. If you haven't tried Salon M Squared, you definitely should. And, of course, I recommend Dan.

Went there twice and both times they didn't cut my hair correctly. They have a nice atmosphere but terrible hairdressers. The only reason I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 is because of the great modern atmosphere and design. The service sucks and you feel like they're all fake and trying so hard to be the real thing.

Beautiful salon where I've been getting my hair cut and coloured for years with Marco, Lisa or Kristina. I find them all to be great stylists. Ample parking and my appointments are always on schedule.

I was going to get my colour done and the receptionist said it would be around $170. When my hair was done, it came out to close to $300 and I didnt expect to pay that much. they wouldn't let me leave without leaving something valuable. In the morning I didn't tip them. The place had a good atmosphere and that's the only reason why I'm giving it 1 star. The colour was gorgeous but it faded the NEXT day! The curls didn't last either. The owner actually expected a tip!

Great Salon! I’ve been getting my haircut here for several years now and I couldn’t be happier. The Salon itself is very pleasant and there is ample parking. The entire team is highly professional and Marco in particular is a very talented stylist for both men and women. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.

I've tried many so-called hair styling sd salons in North York and have found a great deal of them to be disappointments with overpriced hair stylists who are Legends in their own minds and not as good at cutting and styling hair as they think they are. My search ended recently at salon m squared where I received a decent haircut for more than a decent price as a part of their seniors' special every Wed. The treatment wash, cut and style. After the cut they apply hot towels to your face loosen up your pores and moisturizing cream to complete the process. then back to the chair for the finishing touches on the style and believe it or not all of this only cost twenty bucks on the Wednesday and $25 on the rest of the days. You can't touch this anywhere in the city. I was paying 50 to $70 downtown just for a cut let alone a wash in a style. Anyways guys good luck

I had an absolutely incredible experience with Marco and his team. Before a birthday evening out my husband surprised me with a Caviar Treatment, wash and style and make-up application. I could not have been happier with the end product. My hair felt and looked amazing. Marco and his team are extremely professional, knowledgeable and definitely pampered me. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for great service and amazing results to set up an appointment.

I came into this salon for colour when my regular colorist of many years was on vacation and happened to be paired with Lisa. She did such an amazing job that I ditched my old stylist and have switched to her for a few months! She’s realllly good with colour and gives me the best, most gentle blowout I’ve ever had. The appointments are always on time and everyone leaves happy. This salon is a gem!

Since I starting going about 3 years ago I get more compliments. The prices are good and they always keep their scheduled appointments on time. The products they use will always keep your hair healthy and never cause any damage.

Please when you are booking an appt, specify that you do NOT want Vanessa Serrao the assistant to cut your hair. I had brought in my daughter, it was booked with her which at the time I did not realize she was the “salon apprentice”, until I recently went on their website. She appears to be a lot younger, She has no experience, hardly communicated with me and it 100% shows. My daughters hair is still completely ruined and is in the process of growing out.

Do not come here for hair colouring. I came here to colour my hair after a quick 3 minute consultation with staff showing pictures of what look I wanted to achieve. I came on the day of the appointment and the staff member did not do a secondary consultation or ask to see the pictures of the look I wanted to achieve. I ended up with hair colouring did not at all reflect what I wanted, and had to get corrected at another salon.

Dan is absolutely exceptional at what he does. I have always been very specific with my hair and have always given many details before letting a hairdresser touch it. However, when I go see Dan, I completely trust his judgment, I relax and I enjoy my experience. He is comfortable to talk to, approachable, kind and very knowledgeable. I have no trouble travelling an hour from home to go see him and am more than happy to refer him to family, friends or strangers. Keep up the good work and I’ll see you next month!

I can't believe how ridiculous this place was today. I was a total of 10 minutes late and the place was empty (not a client in sight) and they refused to see me saying that they'd "squeezed me in already". I was not ever told that I was being squeezed in, in the first place when I booked the appointment. I was going to get my hair cut and dyed and spend a fair amount there. I missed my bus stop, I was late and of course I should be held accountable but he didn't even offer to just do the cut and maybe do the dye another. I will not be returning and I live in the area. I'd rather go out of my way then set in foot in a place that has no interest in pleasing it's clients.

I went and got my hair done here for the first time with Vanessa and it will be my last time.! She is an assistant and should not be allowed to be doing people’s hair at all. She didn’t even talk to me at all when I was there and she looked like she didn’t want to do my hair. She was rushing my hair and the hair wash was so quick my hair was still dirty. And the price for the haircut was so expensive!! Do not go to her

My favourite hair salon in the city. Everyone is extremely friendly and professional and in the dozens of times I've been here, I always leave with fantastic looking hair (most of the time with Lisa, but I've received styling from almost all of the staff). I'd also like to add that the staff are very accommodating; I use a wheelchair and they always make things very easy for me. Price points are excellent and service is fast and efficient. I highly recommend this salon!

Let me preface this review by stating that I am writing it based on my attempt to make a second visit to this salon. My first visit, for a blowdry/updo was pleasant. That was some time ago. I had been meaning to visit this salon again for a haircut. A few days ago, I received a "birthday promotion" e-mail from Salon M Squared, offering me a 25% discount on any salon service for my birthday week (expiring "7 days after your birthday", as stated in the e-mail). This was incentive enough for me to contact them to book a haircut with their senior stylist (the owner, in fact), with the hopes of using the 25% discount. I have been searching for a new stylist and was hoping to find one in my neighbourhood (plus, as I said, my first visit was pleasant). My birthday was on a Monday (the exact day which I received the e-mail, mid-day). When I contacted the salon to book the appointment on Tuesday the following week, I was told that I could, in fact, book an appointment but could not apply the 25% discount because Tuesday was ONE day past the 7-day expiry date of the coupon. Let me also add that within that 7-day period which my coupon was valid, the salon would be closed on TWO of those days (it is a long-weekend and a statutory holiday). Therefore, realistically, the salon was giving me only 5 days to use the offer. WOW! How inflexible of this salon, particularly on a long weekend, not to allow me the one extra day to use the offer. It's not like I was asking to use the offer a month later! I am going to assume that the stylists at Salon M Squared don't really need to build their business by attracting more clientele in their own neighbourhood.

The atmosphere is nice and the staff is very friendly. Had my hair cut by Lisa and am very happy with the results. The hair looked great even after just a wash with no blow-dry, which is very important for a person whose hair is naturally curvy :) Will definitely return here again.
