The hairdresser that we had stank of cigarettes which isn't nice for anyone let alone kids stuck right next to her in a chair. She didn't listen to any of our preferences and as I had my son on my lap, she hit me in the face with the clippers and then the hair dryer but didn't apologise. Lucky my son's haircut turned out ok and it wasn't overly expensive but the products are very pricey.

I do not recommend this salon for getting your child's ears pierced. They completely screwed up my poor daughters piercing and gave us the wrong care advice. We consulted our lawyer who advised us the best thing to do is not recommend anyone we know to go there for that service. He's right, so here we are!

We had success in having my son's hair cut for the first time in almost 1 year. He is 3.5 years old and struggles with the sensory component- hair on his skin, dropping on the floor etc. In the past it has been so traumatic for him (and me) that I decided just to let his hair grow. I called Rebecca to make an appointment and to let her know our situation. She was really calm and reassuring and when re arrived sprung gently into action. Before he knew what was happening my son was sitting in a digger working the controls and watching Peppa on an iPAD. Rebecca was gentle and quick and it was over in a flash followed by a lollypop to celebrate how brave he was. My son was so proud of himself and so was I. Thanks Rebecca! Give Hair by Rebecca a try. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I called to book an appointment for my 3 year old and there was availability the same day. My son got to pick a vehicle and the hair dresser was even happy for him to switch vehicles half way through the cut. iPads movable depending where your child is sitting with a huge selection of games and shows. This is the only place I'll ever go to get my child's hair cut. Absolutely fantastic kid centred service. Wish I could give more than five stars. Price is a little more than other places but it's worth it for the speciality service.

My son has never had hair cut since born. Everytime I tried to cut his hair, he will scream and cry even I promise he can have icecream later. Well, this morning he just had a wonderful haircut from Rebecca Hairdressing and he did enjoyed all!!! They are really really professional for kids haircut. Love how this hairdresser is set up for kids. My son loved it, he was spoilt for choice with which character seat to sit in, then he had an iPad to watch the wiggles on. The hairdresser quickly and efficiently cut his hair before he got restless. All the staff are very friendly too. The only trouble was my son didn't want to leave! Will definitely be coming here again though.

My son hates having his haircut. Someone told us about Hair by Rebecca and the wonderful atmosphere with the Lightning McQueen car and videos. The girls were wonderful and Rebecca was so patient and gave my son a great haircut and he even got a lollipop when finished. I recommend to anyone who has kids with any sensory issue this salon is amazing.

Drove 20kms to this saloon for our 2 yr old son's hair cut and it was totally worth it. The team here is amazing and welcoming. They also have a small kids play area which really helped my son settle in the environment before his haircut. Highly recommend

As we approached, my son became nervous and scared Anne Marie(I think that was her name) came out and started to talk to my son and instantly he walked with her to a big chair sat down by himself and had a hair cut! They do a great job on kids hair cuts, with cool chairs for the kids, tablets with movies on them and they really know how to deal with kids who are scared. It was amazing to watch how the helped a child with autism enjoy their hair cut. Really recommend these guys. I got my hair cut there too and they did a great job.

Had my boys haircuts here as one was having his first haircut. Went as well as could be expected (we got it done through the screaming and clawing at me). My issue was the ?trainee? Who did my other sons hair which looked awful (luckily another hairdresser fixed it before we left) made a few comments that had us feeling a little uncomfortable. Wasn't a nice experience and probably wont return.

My 12yo son has ASD and absolutely hates having his haircut, he always gets anxious & fidgety and a hairdresser visit usually ends up being a stressful and horrible experience. So glad I took him to Hair by Rebecca! Brady (hope I spelt the name correctly) was absolutely amazing with him, she kept him entertained with an iPad and engaged him in conversation which kept him calm & at ease while having his haircut. Thankyou so much for such a positive and stress free experience....we will definately be back again!

I have being taking my kids to Hair by Rebecca for a few years now and it’s always a great experience! My youngest didn’t like haircuts and although our first time there was a little rough, he has grown to love it and now enjoys his cuts without tears. Rebecca is really good for kids with asd and sensory needs and the staff is friendly and accomodating. Great variety of chairs for the kids to choose, TVs with favourite shows/movies playing and iPads with lots of apps to distract them. They always look forward to their lollipop at the end :)

Amazing!! Rebecca is absolutely amazing. I had my son have an issue on a 40 deg day and wouldn't go into a birthday party because he had the wrong shirt on and his hair was "too long" Oh my giddy aunt joys of parent hood... A magic angel appeared, managed to calm him down, gave him a buzz cut and apparently had the exact right shirt. Shut up and take my money!! Kind of moment. (In a good way) it was under $30 including the shirt. Now we always go back. He has no issues. They keep the routine and just follow his lead and prompts... he is almost 8 but tiny and fits in the cars still... puts on a hat, turns the right movie on, gets the ipad, takes the hat off and gets the cut. The special cuts with things shaved in are just brilliant. My daughter also loves it. She's almost 11 but can go in and just be a little princess and watch frozen without being picked on. After having me let her have a bleached and pink hair over the holidays, I phoned the girls, told them what we needed to fit in with school rules. Hubby was able to drop off Bethany-Kate and the girls had it totally under control. I picked her up and she looked beautiful. They even braided it with glitter spray for her. I've had great experiences myself too ❤ I have fibromyalgia and can't always wash my hair. It's extremely embarrassing for someone who is so independent. The girls always welcome me in brush and wash my hair. They dry me off if its cold, put it up for me all under $10 everywhere else I tried were just awful and too rough and really really hurt me. These girls are so gentle for my chronic pain. I had my hair cut on mulitple occasions it was has been absolutely perfect! The colours have been brilliant too! You guys are amazing! A big thanks to Rebecca, and I only know her as the hairdressing lady, but she's brilliant xx and to stop me from living a hellish life, I know life becomes relaxing as soon as I step in the door and the world just stops. I love the glitter hairspray, temp colours in the shaved designs, and lollies at the end. Thank goodness I was recommended to you and both kids and I walk out under $50!!!!

I took my son to hair by Rebecca, I normally take him to a men's hair dresser but I heard great things about this place. I asked for short on the side and very long on the top, when I go to men's hairdresser they always ask me how long I want it when they get to the top part but at Rebecca's in modbury it was like they just wanted to rush us out and get to the next client. The hair dresser started cutting more than half the length off the top, I told her that it was too short and that she didn't ask me what length I wanted- she just looked at me ????. What made it worse we had our first family photo shoot.

I usually like this place. They have done a few of my sons hair cuts. Rebecca there that did my kids haircuts was very anxious and very unhappy.Never in my life have i had an experience like that especially with the kids hair. Wont ever be going back. Is ridiculously over rated as they say it’s an experience for kids:( A little pricey just to trim the wispy bits off my 1yr old fringe.

Having four special needs children, I had had a lot of trouble getting them to get a haircut. After finding Hair by Rebecca, they now enjoy having their hair cut. Rebecca goes above and beyond for us each and every time. She will even open early so we don't have to worry about other people just so my children can feel comfortable. Absolutely awesome experience for my 6 year old ASD daughter. Totally understood when anxiety meant she needed a quick trip to the toilet, verbalised every touch so she accepted and didn’t flinch once. Spoilt her with glitter, flower in hair, balloon, lollipop and bracelet! She will definitely wanting another hair cut and that will be the first time ever. Great place for kids haircuts. They have half a dozen novelty kids seats (Barbie car, Thomas, lightning McQueen etc) as well as a big wall mural and play area. There are screens playing movies and a couple of ipads to watch iview on. And the hairdressers are awesome with little ones. They do a 1st haircut package for babies and Rebecca can also accommodate kids with sensory issues etc with after hours appts. I have heard people complain about the price of kids cuts ($25) but given the outlay in setting up such a dedicated kid space I don't have an issue with paying that much. They also have a section for adults and the prices for adult services are quite competitive (there's even a big board of their prices at the front of the store so no nasty surprises!) I've had hair cuts/colours etc and no probs at all although I would stress that you have to understand your visit may be interrupted by an upset child or the theme tune to Peppa pig!!
