First up Amy is so lovely and friendly which is pretty important when you’re gonna spend 3 hours in a chair! She has awesome taste in music - every time I go in there’s either a banging 80s or indie playlist on and I love it. Salon itself is lovely and ethical/green and the inclusive vibe makes it a really special little place. Most importantly though - the hair. Absolute professional. Second time I’ve been for my hair and I wouldn’t go anywhere else now. ???? Been to pretty much all the big hair places in Newcastle, Jesmond and Ouseburn and this tops them all in terms of attentiveness when explaining what I want and then executing it. Amy actually listens and both times I’ve had my hair done by her I’ve walked out the salon feeling like a million dollars (which means a lot after lockdown!). She also doesn’t get scissor happy which has happened elsewhere. I had a fringe cut in today and she took her time to cut it in slowly as I was a bit anxious about it. As someone who used to dread going to the hairdressers, this is such a big deal for me. Also products used are incredible, smell good and vegan. Bonus head massage. Thank you so much! Can’t wait til next time!

I had a great experience at Finch salon. Amy is an amazing hairdresser and completely rescued my lockdown hair. She also gave me really great advice about maintaining hair quality post pregnancy. The fact that the salon is environmentally conscious is a massive bonus too. Would 100% recommend

Just had hair coloured and styled by Amy at Finch Salon. This was my third visit and I would not now consider going anywhere else. Amy is an extremely professional hairdresser who takes time to listen to her client. An absolute expert colourist and stylist. Both Amy and Emma are friendly, polite and very welcoming. If you want the best that Whitley Bay has to offer call Finch Salon and you won't be disappointed.
